Context Trivia / LyricalNanoha

Go To

* ActingForTwo:
** Arf shares [[Creator/LaurenLanda the same dub actress]] as young Chrono and they do have some conversations together.
** Nanoha's mother Momoko in the dub shares the same voice as Falin, and has a scene together with her.
** Creator/NanaMizuki voices Fate, Alicia and Levi, three almost identical looking characters with distinct personalities.
** Creator/ShizukaIto voices Shario, Otto and Deed.
** Creator/ChiwaSaito, jarringly enough, voices Subaru, Nove and Quattro.
** Creator/MarinaInoue voices Erio, Cinque and Wendi.
** Creator/KaoriMizuhashi voices Yuuno, Vivio and Sein.
** Eriko Kigawa voices Ginga, Uno and Tre. The three have a dialogue in the same scene in ''AudioPlay/StrikersSoundStageX''.
** Creator/{{Yukana}} voices Reinforce Zwei and Lucino. Funnily enough, there is a scene in ''[=StrikerS=]'', where they have chat, but the viewer doesn't hear any dialogue.
** Creator/NatsukoKuwatani voices Arf, Lutecia, Sette and Auris Gaiz.
*** On the other hand, Lutecia lampshades in ''The Movie 2nd A's'' audio commentary that she and Arf have really similar voices and then she tries to imitate her voice (teen and child voice), much to Zafira and Fate's surprise. It's even better, if you listen carefully, Lutecia is only close to imitate Arf's voice perfectly, but there are still subtle distinctions.
** Creator/MaiNakahara voices Teana, Vice's sister Laguna, and Lutecia's mother Megane.
** Creator/MikakoTakahashi voices the young Chrono and Caro.
** Nozomi Masu voices Alto and Dieci.
** Kayo Sakata voices Mariel and Schach.
** Creator/AyakoKawasumi voices Ixpellia and the Mariages.
** In the [[VideoGame/MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha PSP games]] and accompanying drama [=CDs=] - the three Aces and their Material counterparts, obviously; and every character who meets their Dark Piece doppelgängers. The latter case includes Fate, Reinforce, Vita, Shamal, Zafira, and Chrono.
** ''VideoGame/GearsOfDestiny'' also adds Yuuno and Vivio (Creator/KaoriMizuhashi), Lily-Strosek and Amitie (Creator/HarukaTomatsu). Thoma and Lily also meet their Dark Piece counterparts, though they actually talk with their partners rather than with their enemies.
*** Creator/KanaAsumi voices U-D and Asteion. [[MyFriendsAndZoidberg And Isis]].
* BannedInChina: ''Lyrical Nanoha'' is one of over 100 MagicalGirl anime that are prohibited from being released in Saudi Arabia.
* CrossdressingVoices:
** Creator/KaoriMizuhashi voices Yuuno Scrya. Because of his [[{{Bishonen}} effiminate]] appearance, he is still voiced by her even as an adult.
** Creator/MikakoTakahashi voices Chrono Harlaown until he grows up to an adult. She still voices him when he's 16 in ''Reflection'' and ''Detonation''.
** Creator/MarinaInoue voices Erio Mondial.
** The ''Lyrical Parties'' have a game called "{{Seiyuu}} Shuffle". For certain scenes, the roles of the seiyuus will be shuffled, which means that every female seiyuu, who participates in those events, could play a boy or a "male" Device. For example, Creator/ChiwaSaito playing Yuuno, Creator/MaiNakahara playing Bardiche, Creator/KanaUeda and Creator/YukariTamura playing Chrono. On the other hand, since the franchise have an ImprobablyFemaleCast, [[TheOneGuy the unfortunate one guy]] Creator/KazuyaIchijo played ''[[BadassAdorable Fate]]'' in ''Lyrical Party IV''.
* GenerationXerox: Like her mother Quint, Subaru has a partner and best friend who is female and voiced by Creator/MaiNakahara.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The first and second seasons ''were'' released by Geneon in the U.S., but ''very'' shortly afterwards, Geneon USA shut down and the titles immediately fell out of print. They now command at ''least'' $100 on [=eBay=], usually more. And neither season has been license rescued as of 2022.
** As of 2023 and 2024, this has been thankfully averted, as Discotek Media has now gotten the rights to the original 1st and 2nd (A's) TV series that is set to release in 2024 on Blu-Ray. They've also, however, previously licensed/released the third and fouth movies, Reflection, and Detonation.
* NoExportForYou:
** The third season, ''Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha [=StrikerS=]'', has yet to be released in the USA, and/or dubbed.
** It is the entire franchise that has yet to be released or dubbed in the UAE.
* SequelGap: Between ''Force'' having been "on hiatus" (and most likely QuietlyCanceled) since 2013, the series' main continuity lying dormant since ''[=ViVid=]'' had wrapped up in 2017, and a dearth of new releases since the 2018 ''Detonation'', the ''Nanoha'' franchise has been inactive for a while. While there has been an [[https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-01-19/magical-girl-lyrical-nanoha-franchise-launches-new-project/.155525 announcement back in January 2020]] (read: ''just'' before the pandemic) that some kind of ''Nanoha'' content is in the works, nothing about its format or medium was said and no updates were published in the three years since. The most recent form of ''Nanoha'' content was ''Detonation'''s collaboration with ''Anime/{{Symphogear}} XDU'' (first in mid 2020, with a re-run in early 2023). At this point, it may be accurate to say that ''Nanoha'' is on a SeriesHiatus -- if not {{Orphaned|Series}} altogether, given Creator/SevenArcs and Masaki Tsuzuki's new focus on ''Anime/ExtremeHearts''.
* ShipperOnSet: While the writers have always been tight-lipped on the nature of Nanoha and Fate's relationship, their voice actors Creator/YukariTamura and Creator/NanaMizuki have stated in interviews that they consider them a romantic couple and portray them that way in later seasons. The fandom have since cited this as the WordOfGay in lieu of other sources.
* StarMakingRole: The series served as this for both Creator/NanaMizuki and Creator/YukariTamura.
* UnfinishedDub: Only the first two seasons were dubbed. ''[=StrikerS=]'' wouldn't be licensed until 2016 (a full nine years after it aired), by Amazon UK.
* WordOfGay: Nanoha and Fate according to [[http://s240.photobucket.com/user/BPHaru3/media/RND/Fate_chan_is_a_prince_en.jpg.html this interview with the creator of the franchise and their voice actresses]], at least in the series' primary continuity. Creator/NanaMizuki ups the ante by creating a schedule of Nanoha and Fate's daily routine and [[https://imgur.com/a/MaMoGay she notes that Nanoha and Fate spend time alone with each other every night]] from 22:00 to 1:00.
