* CreatorKiller: Sales only met close to half of ''VideoGame/EpicMickey''[='=]s sales [[note]][[https://www.engadget.com/2013-01-29-epic-mickey-2-sales-at-529-in-us.html A little over half]] if sales Power of Illusion are counted[[/note]]. The failure of the game and the closure of Junction Point Studios would lead to Warren Spector leaving the video game industry to teach at the University of Texas before joining Otherside Entertainment in 2016.
* FlipFlopOfGod: WordOfGod stated before that, because of its release date, there was not going to be a UsefulNotes/WiiU version of ''The Power of Two''. A few months before the game's (and the system's) release, it was announced that there ''is'' going to be a Wii U version.
* FranchiseKiller: Creator/WarrenSpector previously stated a third ''Epic Mickey'' game would be doubtful. He was right due to the failure of ''Epic Mickey 2'' and the Disney downsizing its gaming sector resulting in the [[CreatorKiller closing his studio]] and the cancellation of all their in-development projects.
* NoExportForYou: The ''Epic Mickey 2'' Graphic Novel won't be released in America.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: Disney had made the decision to shut down Junction Point Studios long before ''Epic Mickey 2'' was even released due to the company deciding to leave game publishing and because the then recent rise of mobile gaming had caused Disney executives to lose faith in the future viability of the console and PC gaming market.
* StillbornFranchise: Junction Point had been concepting a number of ''Epic Mickey'' spinoffs and tie-ins before being shut down.
** ''Epic Donald'' was a canceled spinoff that would have starred Donald Duck going on various adventures inspired by the [[ComicBook/DisneyDucksComicUniverse comics by Carl Barks]]. Junction Point had partnered with Blitz Games Studios for the project and they attempted get Disney's approval and funding by producing a vertical slice demo featuring Donald exploring ancient ruins.
** There were plans for a kart racing game tentatively titled ''Epic Disney Racers'' that would have used characters from both the ''Epic Mickey'' franchise and mainline Disney animated shorts and films. The driving section in Autotopia was used as a prototype for the game. Another title planned was an Olympics game where Disney's heroes and villains competed against one another in various sporting events.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** [[spoiler:Gremlin Prescott]] was, at one point in production, planned to fall to his death as a supporting protagonist, and [[spoiler:the red button on his glove]] was conceptualized as a "self-destruct gag". Concept art has also shown [[spoiler:the Mad Doctor's]] boss battle taking place on Mean Street, and gremlin houses, implying Gremlin Village was a planned area.
** Prescott had cut lines implying he was [[spoiler: the announcer for The Mad Doctor's "Wonderful World of Evil" show scheme (the film projector level that explains Mad Doctor's fall and rise). ]]
** Other concept art indicates the Ventureland pirates sidequest was going to be a full-blown adventure with Mickey helping in their battle against Blackbeard (since he was the animatronic in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride before the film's cast replaced him and his crew.)
** Prior to its international release on Steam in October of 2014, an international PC version was planned, then cancelled, then {{Uncancelled}}... [[NoExportForYou but only in Eastern European countries and Russia.]]
** The whole plot of the game was going to be [[http://themisfitmouse.tumblr.com/post/159438739590/the-original-plot-of-epic-mickey-2 rather different]], with [[spoiler: The Mad Doctor resurrecting The Blot using Mickey's heart, Mickey and Oswald teaming up to destroy The Blot by destroying Mickey's heart, and Yen Sid granting Mickey and Oswald with new hearts.]]
** Warren Spector and Chase Jones both gave ideas to where a third game would have gone:
*** Spector stated in [[https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/34fdjb/hi_i_am_warren_spector_a_game_developer_from/cqu39yn/ a Reddit AMA]] that the third game would have likely “left Wasteland” [[note]]He explained that he wanted some Wasteland characters be able to get out of Wasteland and be able to interact in the Cartoon World[[/note]] and wanted to “up the multiplayer action and make a truly interactive musical game and make music in the context of a game that no music-game has done yet.” He also mentioned that he “wanted more Blot action” suggesting the Blot could have returned in some form.
*** [[https://twitter.com/ChaseJonez/status/1241514864524353537Chase Jones’ idea for the story]] involved the Petes and the Mad Doctor creating and opening a portal between the Cartoon World and Wasteland. He also mentioned that the idea for the Cartoon World was for [[https://mtwitter.com/ChaseJonez/status/1241518444610301953everything and anything to be affected by Paint and Thinner.]]
* One concept was of Mickey fighting a version Of [[WesternAnimation/NightmareBeforeChristmas Oogie Boogie]] in what appears to be a ruined version of New Orleans Square, lifting him into the air with a fairy sketch (which itself actually looks like Tinkerbelle, as opposed to a light with fairy wings the final product has).
* Concept art and unfinished models show that a worlds based on non-forgotten, established Disney properties were going to appear. Notably in the art pieces, ''Minnie and Pluto'' appeared to be involved, and Ortensia was planned to be a playable character, if not a more active role.
** There was a 2D level inspired by ''WesternAnimation/{{Dumbo}}'' where Mickey would accidentally drink champagne and have to traverse an area full of pink elephants. Despite the level being nearly completed, it was removed out of fear that a level centered around Mickey being drunk would raise the game's age rating.
** ''WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook'' world would have seen its jungle somehow magically fusing into Ventureland. Mickey and Co. Can be seen riding a charge of Mowgli and the animals from the movie, with Mickey riding Bagheera , Oswald swinging on a vine, Ortensia riding either on Akela or Leah the wolf and ''Minnie riding Shere Khan''
** A world based on ''WesternAnimation/RobinHood'' would have have been centered around escaping/thwarting King John and storming his castle, with Mickey taking on Robin's role (though Little John is surprisingly present). It is by far the most developed of the concepts.
*** The first piece of art shows Minnie being a part of the escape and Ortensia flinging a projectile to defend Little John pulling away the King's wagon.
*** The second piece shows Mickey in Robin's outfit as he [[BattleCouple Oswald and Ortensia]] storm their way through a crowd of Rhinos in town to get to a glowing portal at the castle.
*** There are untextured models of the film's Wolf Archers and completed models for the Rhino Guards present.
** A sculpted but untextured model of Phil from ''{{WesternAnimation/Hercules}}'' has been found, suggesting the world was set to appear despite having no revealed concepts.
** ''WesternAnimation/TheHunchbackOfNotreDame'' also had concept art where Mickey is trying to calm down Pluto, who's seemingly been ''turned into a giant Blotling and is emerging from an inky portal''
* There was a design for animatronic, and apparently ''feral,'' versions of Timon (in his luau outfit) and Pumbaa. Timon appeared to be forcing Pumbaa into a frenzy via wires coming from his forearm.
* There are several unused Blotworx designs showing off much more diversity than the standard "tiny cycloptic spatter piloting a mech" design philosophy in the final product. In many cases they seem to be parallel to existing Blotlings from the first game:
** There was a Blotworx Jafar who's animatronic parts appear to be partially empowered by a Turp thinner guardian, who's cape and bottom-half is made up of a [[BlobMonster a blobby, multi-eyed mass of Spatters.]] There were also Blotworx who's Blotling components resembled cobra heads suspended on robotic legs, furthering the connection.
** There are a good few that leaned further into the "cyborg" aspect
*** a couple were TopHeavyGuy gorilla like brutes with pumps on their shoulder, a blaster arm, and who is also animatronic from the waist down. A couple had Maleficent-like horns, while others had more of a gorilla like posture.
*** many were the other way around to the above, typically the Spatter equivalents with [[BrainInAJar deformed heads or fetal blotlings suspended in robotic tanks (some shaped like inkwells) ]], which themselves had variants with buzz saw arms and blotling legs.
*** sleeker, ranged designs akin to sweepers were toyed with, that had fish and reptile-like elements and a RedRightHand full of small Blotling faces.
** The Blotworx Rocker's working design was much more clearly based on ''Herbie the Love Bug'' instead of the more generic-looking yellow Toontown car of the final version.
** The tiny Spatter pilots were initially a blobbier cousin of theirs called "Spluders"
*** The small cyclops spatters were originally varied much more in how they were malformed. Some had peanut shapes, others had bulbous heads, and others appeared to be handcuffed inside their tanks to control their bodies.
** There are quite a lot of unused Spluder Blotworx mech concepts, some of which are airborne. Most were based on shows from ''The Disney Afternoon'' and attractions, but out of them only the ''Black Hole'' and ''Atlantis''- themed ones were used in the final product as Blockers and Shockers respectively:
*** Darkwing Duck - bipedal, has an arm shaped like Darkwings Gas canister gun, roller skates on its feet, and the front of Darkwings motorcycle on its chest piece.
*** Rescue Rangers - bipedal, has a Robot Dog's head, and two of Gadget's inventions on its arms (the Ranger Plane and the Plunger Crossbow)
*** Casey Jr Circus Train - treaded design, has the attraction's smiling locomotive engine car as its main body.
*** Talespin - flying torso, it's head and torso are lifted from Prof. Martin Tork's Auto Aviator from the episode "From here to Machinery", while its arms bear that version of Shere Khan's logo.
*** Who Framed Roger Rabbit/Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin - A Rocker-like design, its chest piece is Benny The Cab, the Spluder wears Smartass's hat, one arm is a stack of tires while the other is a DIP vat, and it's bottom piece is based on a toon cannon.
*** An airborne Misc. Float hovercraft design - the Spluders Cockpit is the main platform for Aladdin's float, while its arms are a decorated with an Alice in Wonderland teacup and teapot and Captain Hook's hook, one of the Jolly Rodger's lanterns also hangs off the bottom.
*** Ducktales - A Rocker-like design which is modeled after Gizmoduck's suit, minus the head.
*** Bonkers - Hovercraft design, the Cockpit is the Police Car, the Spluder wears Bonker's police cap, Toots and Bonkers badge appear on one arm while the police insignia appears on the other, and the police siren dangles off the bottom.
*** Toontown - bipedal, the chest piece is the lead car from the Chip 'n' Dale ''[=GADGETcoaster=]'' ride, and it's limbs have components of streetlights from the area, as well as half a spinning teacup.
*** Beauty and the Beast Float - a crab-like design, while labeled as such, the parts don't seem to be from any particular attraction or float, the Cockpit seems to be patterned after Mrs. Potts, the leg coverings on Chip, and the arm coverings based on Lumiere's hands.
*** "Steam with attachments" - a crab-like design, it's chest piece has Chip's face on the front and a smokestack on the back akin to the Mark Twain Steamboat. Otherwise this Blotworx design is bare.
