3	* Almost every translated episode was done by a team from Website/SomethingAwful, likewise the site is also where newly translated episodes are first posted. Eventually another group known as "Last Continue GCCX" took up translation duties, around the same time SA did. There have been multiple instances where LC actually got an episode done before SA did. 7	* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The non-official translations were taken down from Website/YouTube or otherwise removed when Kotaku announced another episode that had already been previously fan translated. But once Kotaku's license to show the series expired, they pretty much officially sanctioned people watching fansubbed versions instead. But in 2013, the broadcasting company Gascoin started taking down all the episodes in Youtube, subs and all, because they were looking to get GCCX on a streaming site like Netflix or Hulu. People like [[http://www.gamingcx.com/ Gaming CX]] have since taken to re-uploading the episodes to places like Dailymotion. It's also pretty easy to [[http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3452856 find the episodes on torrent sites]].
8	** Also, circulating the tapes is the ''only'' way for anyone to watch the parts of the show that aren't the challenges; rights issues make it so that even in Japan, the official DVD releases cut down each episode to just the challenge segments, albeit with added footage to fill the gaps, making the [=DVD=]s a sort of DirectorsCut.

10	** In 2023, GCCX created a Website/YouTube [[https://www.youtube.com/@gccx20th channel]] for its 20th anniversary, celebrating it with various crossovers with other gaming channels. This includes a crossover with ''WebVideo/MasahiroSakuraiOnCreatingGames''.
11	** November 4, 2013 was the tenth anniversary, at which point was considered a LongRunner. The show's celebrated it throughout the whole year.
12	** As lampshaded in the ''VideoGame/ParappaTheRapper'' episode, a [=PS1=] game is played for special occassions, until the ''VideoGame/IntelligentQube'' episode lifted the restriction.
13	* NoExportForYou: Though the series is finally starting to be released outside Japan, its Kotaku run was only viewable in North America, as are the [=DVD=]s. A few television companies screened the show at anime and game conventions, but none of them would pick it up due to the sheer licensing hell involved in clearing the viewing rights of 30 year old Japanese games.
14	* ThePeteBest: The original Assistant Director. AD Yamada was only in the very first episode and never appeared again. In fact, Toujima is referred to by the show as the first AD.
15	* PromotedFanboy: One of the SA translators of the fan-subtitled episodes, Nina Matsumoto (aka. zari-gani), is also a professional artist and her work was initially presented to Arino during the episode where he visits the US, surprising both him and Abe by its high quality. Since then, she's been commissioned to produce various art for the show until she was finally shown in person on the show itself during a book-signing event. This eventually culminated in her being the illustrator for a children's book based on the show.

17	** The opening theme is a remix of ''Music/OdeToJoy'', mixed differently every season.
18	** Comes with the territory of some of the segments since all of them use the same songs that are being punned off of.
19	* RecursiveAdaptation: ''VideoGame/RetroGameChallenge'', which was based off of memorable moments from Arino's various challenges, itself ended up as a challenge in the bonus DVD for ''Retro Game Challenge 2''.
