1	* BoxOfficeBomb: ''The Wild'' was this domestically - its budget was $80 million but its North American gross was $37,384,046. (Its worldwide gross, however, helped it break even with a total of $102,338,515.) Any ideas from now ex-Disney boss Michael Eisner that Disney could move on without Creator/{{Pixar}} were quietly locked up after this movie; by the time it hit theatres, Pixar was already a newly-bought Disney subsidiary.

3	** Phil Halprin and Mark Gibson, the writers of the film have not written any more films following the film's failure.
4	** The poor box office results and negative critical reception (among other unrelated reasons) would be a final nail in the coffin for C.O.R.E., the studio animating the film, as they would be shut down on March 15, 2010, almost four years after the film's release.
5	* DuelingMovies: With ''WesternAnimation/Madagascar1''. Though supposedly ''The Wild'' was in development for longer, [=DreamWorks=] had more resources to give their film a quicker turnaround, resulting in it coming out ''11 months'' earlier. This made many people perceive ''The Wild'' as a shameless ripoff upon release, even though the actual timeline is less clear.
6	* FakeBrit: As mentioned (and shown) on the DVD bonus features, lighting artist Colin Cunningham, who voices the British-accented hyrax, is actually Canadian.
7	* KidsMealToy: UsefulNotes/McDonalds released a set of eight character figures in their Happy Meals; Samson, Benny, Bridget, Nigel, Larry, Ryan, Stan, and Cloak.
8	* MarketBasedTitle: In Japan the film is called ''Find Ryan!''.
9	* OneBookAuthor: This would be the only feature length film to be directed by visual effects artist Steve "Spaz" Williams. Following the film's failure he has taken a career in the commercial business. This would also be the only film produced by Sir Zip Studios.
10	* ThrowItIn: Many of Nigel's lines were ad-libbed by his actor Creator/EddieIzzard.

21	** Samson was originally going to have a wife named Jelena. She was presumably cut to streamline the relationship between Samson and Ryan so more focus could be put on them. There is only one deleted scene she shows up in where she has a conversation with Benny. Her character model ended up being reused for three lionesses who attack Kazar in his backstory.
