* AcclaimedFlop: ''Barely averted''. With no news of ''Anime/DeliciousPartyPrettyCure'' being picked up for simulcast on Crunchyroll and the post-credits cameo and baton-pass missing, many western fans felt that this series became this as many fans absolutely ''loved'' the series but it seemed not to be that good elsewhere. However Crunchyroll’s last minute pick up ([[OnlyBarelyRenewed like, literally last minute]]) of the series seemed to prove otherwise.
* BreakingNewsInterruption:
** On the original broadcast of episode 3, an earthquake telop appeared during the ending theme.
** During the original airing of episode 23, an earthquake telop about [[https://earthquake.tenki.jp/lite/bousai/earthquake/detail/2021/08/08/2021-08-08-08-48-59.html a minor earthquake in Ibusuki, Kagoshima]] appeared during the last 5 minutes of the episode. Fans were not happy about this, as it occurred during a scene considered crucial to the episode's plot (the scene where the girls make wishes on stones).
** During the broadcast of Episode 43, Japan's Pacific coast was hit by a tsunami after an underwater volcano eruption, showing this [[https://i.imgur.com/cnwWHZW.png map throughout the episode]] alongside others. Incidentally enough, an apocalypse was involved, which in the following episode, featured heavy rain and hurricanes throughout the planet.
* ColbertBump: As the first series to be streamed on Crunchyroll from the very start, the series as a whole has given one to the overall franchise outside of Japan, particularly in the West.
* DelayedReleaseTieIn: Due to the circumstances listed under ScheduleSlip, some merchandise for this show came out the day before the original February 7th, 2021 slot for this series came around.
* EditedForSyndication: The version of the final episode released on Crunchyroll completely cuts out Yui Nagomi/Cure Precious' cameo scene as well as the baton pass from the final episode. With Website/{{Crunchyroll}} announcing their simulcast of ''Anime/DeliciousPartyPrettyCure'' [[OnlyBarelyRenewed at the last minute]], it's likely this was an intentional move to avoid a ContentLeak.
* MarthDebutedInSmashBros: This series will be the official North American debut of ''Anime/HeartcatchPrettyCure'' as the series had not appeared in any streaming services prior to the airing of Episode 33.
* NoExportForYou:
** Averted, as Website/{{Crunchyroll}} confirmed that [[https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2020/12/25/meet-the-four-new-precure-girls-in-tropical-rouge-pretty-cure?utm_source=community_cr&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=news&referrer=community_cr_twitter_news Tropical Rouge is going to be part of their Winter 2021 streaming lineup]], being made available in North America, Latin America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and others.
** Oddly enough played straight with [[Anime/DeliciousPartyPrettyCure Cure Precious's]] EarlyBirdCameo in the PostCreditsScene of episode 46 being completely absent from the Crunchyroll version of that episode. Considering that [[https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2022-02-05/crunchyroll-to-stream-delicious-party-precure-tv-anime/.182283 Crunchyroll waited until the last minute to announce they were streaming]] ''Delicious Party'', this may have been intentional (compare to ''Anime/HealinGoodPrettyCure'', where the baton pass scene was in there).
** That said, Toei Animation's US division ''DID'' post the baton pass on their official [[https://twitter.com/ToeiAnimation/status/1490792361521078272 Twitter]] and [[https://www.instagram.com/p/CZsU7bCKant/ Instagram]] accounts, which makes this even more puzzling.
** Once again, the NonSerialMovie has yet to see an official release outside of Japan.
* PlayingAgainstType: Being TheStoic is par the course of a Creator/YuiIshikawa-voiced character but fortunately for Minori/Cure Papaya, by virtue of this season being DenserAndWackier than a number of other entries, doesn't have to deal [[BrokenBird with the same level of angst as]] [[VideoGame/FateGrandOrder Morgan]], [[VideoGame/NierAutomata 2B]], [[Literature/VioletEvergarden Violet]] and especially [[Manga/AttackOnTitan Mikasa]].
* PortmanteauSeriesNickname: "Toropuri"/トロプリ.
* PromotedFanboy: Creator/RinaHidaka has been a fan of ''Anime/PrettyCure'' for a long time, but wasn’t able to fit auditions for previous seasons into her schedule. When she got cast as Laura, one of the people she told before it was publicly revealed was Creator/AiKakuma, who was voicing Rabirin in the [[Anime/HealinGoodPrettyCure preceding season]] at the time and would [[https://youtu.be/fpJ0Si4EX0s recount this with her]] during their ''Hidakakuma'' program.
* ScheduleSlip: The show's release is later than other installments in the franchise as a result of production delays that plagued [[Anime/HealinGoodPrettyCure the previous series]].
* SpoiledByTheMerchandise: See [[SpoiledByTheMerchandise/PrettyCure this page]].
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Creator/AimiTanaka originally auditioned for the role of Manatsu but decided to voice Kururun instead upon seeing their design due to her love for sea animals.
** The notoriously useless Kururun was almost cut from the show entirely because all the usual fairy mascot functions were already performed by Laura, but the director kept them in anyways because a seal plush that someone brought to a staff meeting convinced them that Kururun’s cuteness was justification enough to have them around. [[Administrivia/TropesAreTools Fan reception to the character proved that this was ultimately a good thing]].
** Laura was originally going to be a [[RedOniBlueOni more gentle girl to tone down Manatsu's outlandishness]]. However Tsuchida Yutaka was concerned that she was going to be overshadowed by the other girls, therefore giving her a strong personality and a bigger presence in the story.
** The Tropical Pact contains an unused sound that has Manatsu saying "Together, we'll smile, smile!", followed by Asuka saying "Everyone is going to the movies!". This likely means that before ''[=HeartCatch=] Pretty Cure'' was chosen for the fall movie, a crossover with ''Anime/SmilePrettyCure'' was being considered.
** Laura's surname was going to be Hyginus, with "La Mer" just her Cure name. This was changed however due to "Laura Hyginus" proving difficult for the actors to say, hence it being demoted to part of her OverlyLongName, and La Mer becoming her surname instead.
** For the Excellen-Tropical Style finisher, Nakatini Yukiko was asked to make them resemble a royal family. However, she struggled making matching shoes, so instead, she TookAThirdOption and just made them barefoot for the attack sequence instead.
** On Website/TwitterX, Masahiro Yokotani revealed that his colleagues always stopped him from adding more ToiletHumour into the show, and the director Tsuchida Yutaka only relented for the scene in the finale when Manatsu steps in some RoadApples.
* WriteWhoYouKnow: According to an Animage article, Wataru from episode 14 is based on head writer Masahiro Yokotani in how he preferred reading indoors and had to be encouraged to play outside and make friends.
* YouSoundFamiliar:
** Creator/YumiriHanamori voiced several minor characters and Elements in ''Anime/HealinGoodPrettyCure'' before voicing Sango/Cure Coral.
** Creator/YuiIshikawa voiced Hydro in the ''Anime/StarTwinklePrettyCure'' movie before voicing Minori/Cure Papaya.
** Creator/AkenoWatanabe voiced Kedary in ''Anime/HealinGoodPrettyCure'' before voicing Numeri.
