1	* AllStarCast: We've got Creator/JustinLong (Spyro), Music/AshleyTisdale (Stealth Elf), [[Series/BreakingBad Jonathan Banks]] (Eruptor), Creator/BobcatGoldthwait (Pop Fizz), [[Music/{{Metallica}} James Hetfield]] (Wolfgang), [[Series/SaturdayNightLive Norm [=MacDonald=]]] (Glumshanks), [[Series/{{SCTV}} Catherine O'Hara]] (Kaossandra), Creator/SusanSarandon (Golden Queen), and [[WesternAnimation/NedsNewt Harland Williams]] (Hugo). 2	* ContentLeak: Before season 2 premiered, Music/AshleyTisdale uploaded a picture of a part of a scirpt from an unknown episode, which turned out to be "The Truth is in Here" from season 3. The part of the script mentioned both Malefor and [[spoiler:Dark Spyro]], revealing that both would appear, just not when they would.
3	* TheDanza: At different points, Spyro and Glumshanks call Kaos "Steve"- Kaos is voiced by Richard ''Steven'' Horvitz.
4	* DescendedCreator: Showrunner Eric Rogers voices [[spoiler: Crash Bandicoot]], though only in the first season.
5	* FakeAustralian: Non-Australian Eric Rogers voiced [[spoiler: Crash Bandicoot]] in his first appereance, and kiwi actor Rhys Darby in his second.

7	* TheOtherDarrin: Nearly everyone from the games got a new actor, with the exception of Kaos (it's tough to top Creator/RichardStevenHorvitz), Pop Fizz, and Jet-Vac. For instance, Spyro was voiced for the ''Skylanders'' games by Creator/JoshKeaton and later Creator/MatthewMercer; here, [[Film/DodgeballATrueUnderdogStory Justin]] [[Film/{{Accepted}} Long]] (aka Mac from Apple's "Mac vs. PC" commercials) takes over. (This means that Spyro now has his ''seventh'' voice actor; he was previously voiced by Creator/CarlosAlazraqui, Creator/TomKenny, Creator/JessHarnell, and Creator/ElijahWood. The first three handled [[Franchise/SpyroTheDragon the PS1/PS2 era games]], with Wood taking over for ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfSpyro'' trilogy.) With Cynder, she's on her fifth voice actress (having three different actresses- Creator/CreeSummer, Creator/MaeWhitman, and Creator/ChristinaRicci- in the ''Legend'' games, while the ''Skylanders'' games had Tobie [=LaSalandra=] take over).
8	** Malefor is voiced by Creator/{{Jim Cummings\|1952}}, as opposed to Creator/MarkHamill in the ''Legend'' games (he never appeared in a ''Skylanders'' game).
9	** Because of Eric Rogers leaving the series, his role as [[spoiler: Crash Bandicoot]] was taken over by [[http://collider.com/skylanders-academy-season-3-interview/#netflix series newcomer]] Creator/RhysDarby.
10	** Creator/TaraStrong voices [[spoiler: Coco Bandicoot]], making her the fourth person to voice her after Vicki Winters, Creator/DebiDerryberry, and Creator/HyndenWalch.
11	** The Brazilian Portuguese dub does not keep any of the original actors, despite both works being dubbed ''in the same city'' (Rio de Janeiro). Taken further in season 2, where the dub moved to Sao Paulo, keeping only Raphael Rossatto as Spyro.
12	** Italy has it worse, as the games are dubbed in Milan and the cartoon is dubbed in Rome.
13	** The Swedish dub mostly has the voice actors from the games reprise their characters for the main ones, except for Spyro, Stealth Elf, Glumshanks and Kaossandra.

Snap Shot was voiced by Rennie Mirro in season 1, but did not voice the character at any point in the two following seasons, with Urban Wrethagen doing it instead. Creator/ElinaRaeder, who voiced Dreamcatcher and Roller Brawl in the first two seasons, did not return for the third. Freddy Åsblom voiced Wind-Up for the first season, then never again despite having other roles in the two following seasons, the list goes on. Not even the main characters were safe, as for the third season, Eon went from being voiced by Hans Wahlgren to Anders Byström.

18	** Jonathan Banks- '''[[Series/BreakingBad Mike Ehrmantraut]]'''- in a family-friendly show (as Eruptor). Also, [[Series/SaturdayNightLive Norm [=MacDonald=]'s]] performance as Glumshanks is very understated, as opposed to most of his other roles, where he's quite a bit hammier.
19	** Jason Ritter's most iconic animation role was the good natured [[WesternAnimation/GravityFalls Dipper Pines]]. Here, he's cast as [[spoiler: Dark Spyro]].
20	* RoleReprise: Richard Steven Horvitz, Jonny Rees (aka Greg Ellis), Bobcat Goldthwait, Billy West, Fred Tatasciore and Patrick Warburton are the only actors from the games to reprise their roles from the games, returning to voice Kaos, Jet-Vac, Pop Fizz, Food Fight, Snap Shot and Flynn respectively.
