* AllStarCast:
** Only a remake to such a legendary series could assemble all these guys in a single show. Creator/NorioWakamoto, Creator/DaisukeOno, Creator/HoukoKuwashima, Creator/KenichiSuzumura, Creator/AkioOtsuka, Creator/AyaHisakawa, Creator/KeijiFujiwara, Creator/KikukoInoue, Creator/KoichiYamadera, Creator/RieTanaka, Creator/JojiNakata and the list goes on.
** This extends to the theme song (originally done with just one person, who still performs in it,) which effectively drew every single major anison singer or group - over forty people involved - into one single project. There's several ending themes purely so every single one of them can get a chance to do a solo piece for it. This was one of the few times that Music/JAMProject did a collaborative project with all of their members, both past and present, working on the same thing.
* ChannelHop: The original series aired on Creator/NipponTV, 2199 however aired on TBS.
* TheOtherDarrin: All of the original Yamato characters from the 1974 TV series have been recast for Yamato 2199, both living and dead. For example, Susumu Kodai, voiced by the late Creator/KeiTomiyama, is now voiced by Creator/DaisukeOno.
* TheOtherMarty: When Voyager Entertainment first licensed the series for a North American release, a pilot episode was recorded at Creator/BangZoomEntertainment. Once Funimation acquired the rights four years later, they recorded the dub at their Dallas-based studios.
* StudioHop: At first, the North American releases were handled by Voyager Entertainment, before switching over to Creator/Funimation.
* YouSoundFamiliar: Dessler is voiced by Creator/KoichiYamadera, who succeeded the late Creator/KeiTomiyama as Susumu Kodai in other Yamato entries.
