* Webcomic/{{Nosfera}}'s husband Brahm, a vampire, is killed by being stabbed in the heart with a cross. This is {{lampshade|Hanging}}d.
* ''Webcomic/SchlockMercenary'' takes this to heart.
** One of the most popular books with mercenaries in the Schlockverse, ''The Seventy Maxims of Maximally Effective Mercenaries'', contains several appropriate quotes on the subject, as shown in the quotes section for this trope. Some of the relevant Maxims are even sold in poster form.
** Of a particular note is [[MadScientist Kevyn]], who wears ''antimatter grenades'' on his ''shoulders''. One of those antimatter grenades is capable of slagging a shielded tank, and the other has the yield of a good-sized ''nuke''.
** Schlock himself runs around with two sawed off ''anti-tank multicannons'' and an oversized plasgun. The multicannons are especially ridiculous because he can hook up feeders and, quote, "fire breacher rounds on full auto." Amazingly enough, he is still capable of aiming and restraint while doing so, as he on one occasion spotted an unmanned tank in the middle of the area he was annihilating and spared it so he could steal it later. (Thus proving Maxim #1: "Pillage, ''then'' burn.")
** Actually subverted on one occasion, in which Schlock mocks two enemies for aiming anti-tank weapons at him. They tell him that they're not worried about a little overkill, to which Schlock responds, "Actually, I was worried that you might want to be pointing your anti-tank weapons at, say, [[RightBehindMe incoming tanks.]]" This ''wouldn't have been'' overkill for Schlock - shells from those cannons typically explode with jets of plasma and that's just barely enough to actually do him harm. The extremes it took to [[KilledOffForReal kill him]] involved a fall down a tunnel at non-atmospheric/vacuum terminal velocity, 1.8x Earth Gravity, near-0K temp, with several missiles and a grenade involved. Or, to put it another way, he found a way to throw a planet at his face. Thankfully, [[BodyBackupDrive Petey intervened]].
** Schlock's immune system is itself a form of overkill; it allows him to survive practically anything, even including foreign nanites.
** Once, the PD Fleetmind launched an all-out assault on an entire star system as a diversion, to extract Tagon's Toughs with minimum collateral damage. To quote the UNS Marine prize crew guarding the Toughs: "'Minimal collateral damage' and 'entire star system' do '''not''' belong in the same sentence!"
** The fishing boat captain in Schlocktoberfest 2005 has an array of buoys that, at full power, will detect fish clear across the planet, while boiling away the oceans on their side of the planet. He was explaining it to Der Trihs, who remarks that this reminds him of Kevyn.
** In [[https://www.schlockmercenary.com/2008-11-30 this strip]], Schlock tells us that the plasgun can be used to send 5mm blasts that can travel up a sniper's scope into his brain without scorching the furnishings. This came as news to everyone, given that, as Kevyn points out, Schlock has never willingly used any setting below "vaporise the target and set the room on fire".
* [[HeroicComedicSociopath Richard]] of ''Webcomic/LookingForGroup'' [[http://www.lfgcomic.com/page/185 doesn't understand the concept of overkill,]] as demonstrated any time they decide to let Richard loose.
* ''Webcomic/SluggyFreelance'':
** Riff's anti-vampire, wooden stake {{gatling G|ood}}un is great at making vampire pincushions. Unfortunately, [[AwesomeButImpractical it takes a lot of time to reload.]]
---> [[http://www.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=981004 "Now THAT is one staked vampire."]]
** Riff is, in general, a ''very'' enthusiastic supporter of this trope. Regard [[http://sluggy.com/daily.php?date=020611 "party favors"]].
* ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'':
** [[http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0639.html Familicide]]. There is killing a target, and there is [[AndYourLittleDogToo killing your target's entire family]], and '''then''' there is [[spoiler:killing everyone related to your target and everyone related to ''any of those relatives'', and then ''everyone related to '''them''' ad nauseam''. Vaarsuvius speculates that Black Dragons have made the Endangered Species list. Just how far past the spell ended up that is a sobering reminder of just how badly people underestimate the concept of OVERKILL.]]
** The Cloister spell. It shields the surrounding area in a barrier that prevents most forms of teleportation, sending spells, and divinations from entering, though the spell's creator Dorukan allowed a loophole for summons so his girlfriend could visit. The spell's duration lasts one week per the caster's level, so an epic-level caster could be shielded for months at a time. And if someone left the Cloister'd area, the effect would follow them as well.
* ''Webcomic/TheLastDaysOfFoxhound'' has Vulcan Raven's take on the matter: "Subtlety is a thing for philosophy, not combat. If you're going to kill someone, you might as well [[LudicrousGibs kill them a whole lot]]." His weapon of choice is the machine gun from a fighter jet that is made for shooting up aircraft and tanks, which he instead uses ''people''. In the game that inspired the comic, he also confronted a lone enemy agent infiltrating his base in a tank.
* ''WebComic/AntiHeroes'' duplicates the ''Series/MythBusters'' quote [[http://antiheroescomic.com/comic/188 here.]]
* Creator/BillyMays YoutubePoop [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JaW_f45xnY Suicide Putty]]: "Call right now and I'll triple the offer! And send you six sticks of Suicide Putty so you can kill yourself six times!"
* ''Webcomic/GirlGenius'':
** Some of Agatha's [[http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20090306 death rays]] are capable of obliterating everything in their path for at least a mile, handily punching a giant hole through a mountain.
** A Nullabist knife will melt down whomever is stabbed by it and reduce them to dust within half an hour. [[https://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20130503 Martellus chucks one into Tarvek's chest when Tarvek tries to stop him from kidnapping Agatha]] and Tarvek is only saved because the [[TimeStandsStill Take-Five bomb]] is set off near simultaneously to his getting hit.
* In ''Webcomic/QuentynQuinnSpaceRanger'', the Empire of the Seven Systems responded to the (admittedly rather brutal) slaughter of one of their colony ships by ''incinerating an entire solar system.'' Did a wonderful job of convincing the enemy (who owned more systems) that war against them was not that great an idea after all.
* ''WebComic/EightBitTheater'': Black Mage's preferred form of attack - he has been known to vaporize forests, and at one point destroyed a city by accident when demonstrating to its mayor how he would destroy the city if he didn't get what he wanted. He has refrained from using spells in battles where his life was at stake because he viewed anything that wasn't complete overkill a waste of his time.
* [[VideoGame/EarthBound1994 Jeff]] manages this with a ''single bullet'' in ''Webcomic/{{Chicanery}}'':
-->"The 3219 armor-piercing, drill-tipped, rocket-propelled, nuclear-powered, high velocity bullet with pneumatic shaft explosion dampener, buzzing flagellatory membrane, and a [[ArrowCam miniature camera so you can see the look on his face before you go through it.]]"
* Parodied in ''Webcomic/SamAndFuzzy'' with the Non-Disclosure Automaton. [[http://samandfuzzy.com/642 Overkill is just one of his many modes.]]
* ''Webcomic/ExterminatusNow'': Wildfire thinks Eastwood, Virus, and Lothar don't respect her because she's a girl. So she decides to prove herself by [[http://exterminatusnow.comicgenesis.com/d/20100502.html screwing up in the most spectacular way possible.]]
* ''Webcomic/{{Bug|Martini}}'' like to use this trope. [[http://www.bugcomic.com/comics/bathroom-blitzkrieg/ The bug wishes he could clean his bathroom this way,]] and [[http://www.bugcomic.com/comics/i-hate-church/ a younger the bug wished would happen to his church.]]
--> "What are you drawing, my son?"
--> "Our church being destroyed by three Franchise/{{Godzilla}}s."
* In ''Webcomic/NipAndTuck'', the ShowWithinAShow ''Rebel Cry'' features [[http://www.rhjunior.com/NT/00689.html a disproportionate effort to go after one rebel.]]
* From [[http://www.genocideman.com/?p=135 this episode]] of ''Webcomic/GenocideMan'' "The old government policy of proportionate response failed in the 21st century. Now the official policy is overwhelming response. Overkill. First and always."
** And [[http://www.genocideman.com/?p=638 later]], stated more simply:
--> '''Lola Lamb:''' We kill threats! We use overkill to ensure the threats are gone!
** It does bear mentioning the above quote relates to an incident where the objective was to shut down a rival supersoldier program, and the method was [[spoiler:turn them into vicious and just-as-powerful zombies hostile to life]], which did exactly that and also made sure no one could ever visit that particular country ever again.
* ''Webcomic/PennyArcade'':
** From the now-famous strip [[http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/04/10 "I hope you like text"]], when Tycho responds to Gabe's opinion that an upcoming ''TabletopGame/{{Warhammer}}'' game rips off ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft''[[note]]In reality, the ''VideoGame/{{Warcraft}}'' series was...''partially inspired'' by ''Warhammer''.[[/note]]:
--> "Don't say another Goddamn word. Up until now, I've been polite. If you say '''anything''' else--word '''one'''--I will kill myself. And when my tainted spirit finds its destination, I will topple the master of that dark place. From my throne, I will lash together a machine of bone and blood, and fueled by my hatred for you this '''fear engine''' will bore a hole between this world and that one. When it begins, you will hear the sound of children screaming--as though coming from a great distance. A smoking orb of ''nothing'' will grow above your bed, and from it will emerge a thousand starving crows. As I slip through the widening maw in my new form, you will catch only a glimpse of my radiance before you are incinerated. Then, as tears of bubbling pitch stream down my face, my dark work will begin. I will open one of my six mouths, and I will sing the song that ends the Earth."
** A lesser example occurs when Gabe is playing ''VideoGame/HorizonZeroDawn'' and [[https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2017/02/27/unlucky accidentally uses the wrong ammo]].
* In ''Webcomic/BobAndGeorge'', [[http://www.bobandgeorge.com/archives/000406 Megaman overcharges the gun and lets loose with an enormous explosion.]] He just loves working for MadScientist.
* Rose and Dave from ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'' are [[spoiler: killed (through [[ManipulativeBastard Doc Scratch's]] trickery)]] when the [[FantasticNuke Green Sun]] is [[spoiler: created.]] In the end [[spoiler: [[BackFromTheDead that doesn't stop them from getting back up...]]]]
** Also [[spoiler: Caliborn]] blew [[spoiler: Gamzee]] away with [[http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=007375 five solid minutes]] [[MoreDakka of automatic fire]], while slowly walking past him. And then [[DoubleTap Double Tapped]] his [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments corpse for good measure.]] [[spoiler: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] because Gamzee survives despite the ridiculous number of bullets pumped into his torso.]]
** Jack's way of dealing with the prison guard was a tad excessive. Stabbing him once or twice would be logical, but stabbing him [[DeathOfAThousandCuts seven times, each time with different knife]], bashing his face against the steel door 89 times (until it became boring), cutting off his head and sending it to the Queen of Prospit was definitely uncalled for.
* At the end of the ''Bloodsuckers Are Not Sexy'' arc of Webcomic/FafnirTheDragon, Stephanie Meyer comes up with the brilliant idea of inventing time-traveling mermaids. The first one she runs into is... decidedly less than friendly.
--> '''A.R.I.E.L.''': I am the Automated Response, Investigation and Extreme Liquidation unit, also known as A.R.I.E.L. In the future, you, Stephanie Meyer, will instigate Lack-of-Judgment Day, in which nearly every mythological creature is melted down into plastic goo and repackaged as teenaged heartthrobs.\
'''Meyer''': Oh, that sounds ''romantic''!\
''(targeting computer currently highlighting '''KillItWithFire''')''\
'''A.R.I.E.L.''': On behalf of what few intelligent creatures remain... *opens fire* '''''[[SymbolSwearing #$@%]] YOU!!!'''''
* Non-violent example from ''Webcomic/TheDailyDerp'': [[http://dailyderp.tumblr.com/post/40783023740/derpy-i-win Derpy putting out a candle with a fire hose]].
* In the story "WebComic/AxeCop Gets Married":
** In a martial arts match, Axe Cop uses the Forbidden Move, which hits his opponent with the entire neighbouring province.
** The Water Queen finishing off Zelda Laubber. She's being quite literal here:
--> "Prepare to get stabbed. By the ''[[MakingASplash entire ocean]]''."
* ''Webcomic/DatingATeamMagmaGrunt'' is a sequel to the events of ''VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire'' following Brendan and his relationship with a Magma Grunt. When the Grunt is insulted by a Team Aqua Grunt, Brendan challenges her to a Pokémon battle and promises to use a ground type against any of her water types on the condition that she apologies to his girlfriend if he wins. Sounds pretty tricky, right? Well it might've been had he not immediately whipped out a [[OhCrap Master Ball]]. [[spoiler: Cue [[PhysicalGod Primal Groudon's]] Sunny Day and a brutally torn up area with its footprints embedded into the cement.]]
* Land Reclamation in ''WebComic/StandStillStaySilent''. How do you make certain you got rid of all the monsters in the area you intend to colonise? First, you send in scouts, to map out the area and get a feel for where the monsters might be lurking. Then you send in Hunters with high-powered rifles to deal with all the ambulatory monsters. Then come the Cleanser squads, who use fire and explosives to destroy anything and everything a monster might use as a nest (usually it involves leaving the area a charred wasteland). After ''that'' you wait for winter, so that any missed monsters freeze to death, along with TheVirus that created them. '''Then''' you send in the hunters again, this time along with specially trained cats and their handlers, to track down anything you missed. '''''THEN''''' you set up a palisade or electric fence around the area, so no new nasties can get in. And the worst thing? By all accounts, [[ProperlyParanoid this isn't overkill in any way]].
* ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'': The first time we see Pandora actually kill something? Well, the author's commentary puts it best: "When an immortal of Pandora's power actually pulls the metaphorical trigger, there are no punches thrown, no weapons drawn, no fire or lightning, not even a wave of a hand, or pointing of a finger. The lives of their enemies are simply over, the immortal having seemingly done nothing, and the exact methods known only to them, and every other immortal who has been forcibly burdened with the knowledge of what has just happened."
* ''WebComic/DarthsAndDroids'': Pete (playing as R2-D2) obtains the Lost Orb of Phanastacoria, which was powerful enough to fuel planet-destroying weapons, and attaches it to his personal shock probe. Then he looks forward to dealing damage that is literally rolled with dice counted in the millions. The one time he's about to get to use it, he's also preparing to actually simulate rolling that many individual dice, too, instead of agreeing that the targeted {{mooks}} will definitely die.
