* VisualNovel/FateStayNight: The Servant of Zouken Matou, is also widely disliked - being limited to a single story path (Heaven's Feel) and not getting much characterization tends to do that to you. is mostly regarded with apathy rather than outright hate, and does have his fans, but nonetheless doesn't win points for being, to some, a ReplacementScrappy for , who is a fairly well-liked character in his own right and
** Not helping is how pathetically weak he is. He only managed to truly defeat one Servant, and that was only due to that Servant being cornered by a foe that while on very unfavourable terrain. Assassin was at least able to keep up with other Servants, even being able to hold back Berserker, and could possibly even be able to defeat a strong Saber if he didn't want to rush the battle's end.
** Justified in that, at least until VideoGame/FateGrandOrder came out, Assassin-class Servants were typically meant to, well, assassinate Masters, not fight other Servants. This is why Assassin's ability to fight on par with other Servants was something of a surprise to the other characters. Surprisingly, that game also had RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap during the Camelot Singularity, where
* VisualNovel/MonsterProm:
** Violet is widely reviled by players for her toxic, both literally and figuratively, relationship with Tate. Although it's PlayedForLaughs, both the characters and fanbase find her genuinely aggravating for bragging about controlling Tate with her spores and feeding off his nutrients while shaming any single monster who has the misfortune of crossing their path. Some players even want Tate to be a romanceable option just so they can free him from her it's that bad.
** Camp Counselor Flodge hasn't exactly been a hit with fans. In a franchise centered around hooking up with hot monsters, an unromanceable middle aged reptile with an UncannyValley design isn't what most are here for. And unlike the charmingly ditzy Coach or the hilariously out of touch Miss Weaving, his entire shtick is being a chameleon who is bad at disguises which is comparatively unfunny to the antics the rest of the cast gets up to.
