* Thanks to the author's faith and love of all things Disney, they incorporate a good number of dialog trees as well.
** Asami freeing herself from bears some resemblance to Frozen's climax.
** When Kuvira is being confronted by Korra , the dialog spoken between the two of them is almost taken word for word from WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994.
** When Bolin returns at one point, Spike's greeting to him is very akin to WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph when Felix met Ralph in the dungeon.
** Korra Alone was incorporated into Book 3's story alongside "Twilight's Kingdom." During Book 4: Balance's adaptation, Korra Alone is renamed and rewritten so that Korra's flashbacks are to the canon [=LoK=] due to circumstances involving Kuvira and the Sirens. There are a few other references to the original canon (some a bit tongue-in-cheek) as Korra recalls an alternate universe of how things might've been if Twilight hadn't found the book.
** In Book 4, at Varrick and Zhu Li's wedding, Queen Leilani calls Sonata Dusk a true hero for her HeroicSacrifice and tells her that a true hero isn't measured by the size of her strength, but by the strength of her heart.
** "The Great Divide 2" is rewritten from "The McColts and The Hooffields" and includes plenty of references to the ATLA episode of its namesake. A more subtle reference is how two kids from each side are show coming together in a cave they created like how the city of Omashu came to be from two secret lovers. This troper is terribly disappointed that the "Secret Tunnel" song wasn't sung.
** In The Scare Master, Spike dresses up as Aang.
** During "Rainbow Rocks", Adagio begins laughing like mad after the semi-finals and Sonata, thinking she's gone crazy, tells her to get a grip before being grabbed herself. Just like the scene between Jafar and Iago from .
** During "Friendship Games", when the human Flash and human Twilight meet each other, human Twilight calls herself awkward and calls Flash gorgeous and ending her mumbling saying "wait what?". This is taken from .
** In "Legend of Everfree", appears to Gloriosa, human Twilight, and human Flash, much like Mufasa did in WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994. He also recites part of the Law of the Jungle from WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook1967.
** Unintentional as it may be, the battle near the end of The Shadow of Ronin features several heroes squaring off against shadow counterparts of themselves who try to break them down by talking about all their insecurities and failures like in WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague at the end of the Cadmus arc.
** The main plot of Journey of Iris/A New Beginning is a WholePlotReference to , in which the young protagonists embark on a journey to save their home and, along the way, encounter many various dangers and undergoing CharacterDevelopment to embrace their destiny as the heroes and the Chosen Ones, culminating in a showdown with what they believe to be the main antagonist before uncovering a surprising revelation that allows them to reform said antagonist in a surprising way. Bonus points for using certain songs from the movie to make this connection.
** Hozu, the original character created for "The Guardians of Harmony", is said to be reminiscent of characters like Flynn Ryder and Nick Wilde in that he starts out as a cynical loner who mainly looks out for himself when first introduced, but undergoes CharacterDevelopment and becomes much more open to the idealistic views of the allies he makes over the course of the story. And like the former, he .
** A flashback in "The Guardians of Harmony" has Tempest Shadow sing "What's My Name" from Descendants 2 with her Shadow Triads as backup singers.
