The Nonsensical RP is a roleplay on the [[{{MUCK}} Text-Based Games]] Forums made by cheesyfriedeggs.

It starts out as an RPG with a diverse cast of characters, and multiple chaotic events. However, when two of those characters, Jerald, and Byron, somehow find a way to teleport to a pit with people from multiple dimensions, a plot starts to unfold as our main antagonist soon shows himself...

The first part (completed) can be read [[https://tbgforums.com/forums/index.php?topic=5563.0 here]], and the second part (canceled due to various reasons, but an epilogue has been provided to tie up loose ends) can be read [[https://tbgforums.com/forums/index.php?topic=6043.0 here]].
----
!!The Nonsensical RP contains examples of:
* AbsurdlySpaciousSewer: The Interdimensional Sewage System is an infinite sewage system that transports sewage from every dimension in existence to...nowhere in particular. The characters are able to see clearly, and the air is breathable.
* AnimateBodyParts: Right Hand and Left Hand are two giant sentient hands that represent parts of the creator's personality.
* AnthropomorphicFood: Grape Guy is a giant slug made out of grape juice.
* ArcVillain: For the first part, it's [[spoiler:John Cryptograph]], who seeks to take over all of existence. For the second, it's [[spoiler:Black Hole Hand, who John Cryptograph works for, and has the same goals as John.]]
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:In the timeskip at the end of the first part, Starstick and Dicestick have decided to walk through dimensions helping people to atone for their crimes.]]
* AuthorAvatar: Kind of. Right Hand and Left Hand are meant to represent the creator (Right Hand being their logical side, and Left Hand being their creative side), but the creator themselves is implied to actually exist. However, the characters cannot get to them.
* TheBeastmaster: Snakemaster Bea has the ability to control giant snakes, which she uses to capture people and send them to their boss, [[spoiler:Black Hole Hand]].
* BigNo: In chapter 11 of the first part, after getting captured by the experiment, Right Hand, Left Hand, Grape Guy, and Golfer Man are taken to [[spoiler:John Cryptograph]]'s lab, to which he says he plans to brainwash them. Right Hand refuses, to which this exchange occurs:
-->'''[[spoiler:John Cryptograph]]:''' Well, if you say so. [=GenericEvilBadGuy=], carry them to the prison cells.
-->'''[=GenericEvilBadGuy=]:''' Will do.
-->'''Right Hand:''' No! No! NO!
* {{Bookends}}: The story both begins and ends with the phrase "Jerald has joined the server"; in the first part, Jerald joins the Nonsensical RP dimension [[spoiler:after being banished there by Grape Guy]], while in the second, [[spoiler:he uses his new robot body to teleport to an MMORPG for him to finally call home]].
* CaptainErsatz: [[spoiler:John Cryptograph]] is visibly intended to be a parody of [[WesternAnimation/GravityFalls Bill Cipher]], with his last name being a synonym of Bill's last name and being described as a square with one eye and a top hat.
-->'''Left Hand:''' Seriously?! We came all this way and the final boss is a BILL CIPHER RIPOFF?!
* CardCarryingVillain: [=GenericEvilBadGuy=] is constantly boasting about being a generic villain, even up to his very name.
* CastingAShadow:
** Storm has the ability to manipulate shadow (along with [[PlayingWithFire fire manipulation]] and being able to create a stronger variant of the [[VideoGame/{{Minecraft}} Wither]] effect).
** Umbramancer [[WesternAnimation/BigCityGreens Cricket Green]] also has this ability, and can also create weapons and force fields out of shadow.
* DimensionalTraveler:
** Right Hand and Left Hand have two dimension-traveling guns which they use to travel across dimensions.
** [[spoiler:Starstick and Dicestick are shown to be this in the timeskip at the end of the first part, and are using it to help people after leaving John Cryptograph's forces.]]
* DisneyDeath: [[https://tbgforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=517293#p517293 In chapter 7]] of the first part, Orion mauls Left Hand to near death, but when it seems like they're going to give some dramatic last words, it turns out they're completely fine. They then [[LampshadeHanging lampshade]] how generic it is to have a fakeout death.
-->'''Pepperony:''' Left Hand must have had a lot of acting lessons.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Near the end of the first part, Starstick and Dicestick realize that helping John Cryptograph is wrong, and join the heroes in defeating him.]]
* MassiveMultiplayerCrossover: It becomes this near the end of the first part, with characters from Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, Cartoon Network, and Disney Channel cartoons, the creator's own [=OCs=], and characters from ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' (including ''VideoGame/MinecraftStoryMode''), ''VideoGame/BloonsTowerDefense'', ''VideoGame/BeeSwarmSimulator'', ''VideoGame/KingdomOfLoathing'', ''VideoGame/{{Deltarune}}'', and ''VideoGame/PaperMario'' being summoned to help defeat [[spoiler:John Cryptograph]].
* MultiversalConqueror: [[spoiler:John Cryptograph]] and [[spoiler:Black Hole Hand]] both seek to conquer all of existence.
* MyNameIsQuestionMarks: Before [[spoiler:John Cryptograph]]'s real name is revealed, he is instead called ???.
* OnlyKnownByInitials: Mechanic Cricket Green is referred to as "MCG" in most of the story.
* RedOniBlueOni: Right Hand is the calm and logical blue to Left Hand's silly and cheerful red.
* ShoutOut: The title of Chapter 7 (Sewer, Sewer, Cha Cha Cha) is a reference to the ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' episode "[[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS9E16PatrickTheGameTheSewersOfBikiniBottom The Sewers of Bikini Bottom]]".
* TimeSkip: The Nonsensical RP: Legacy takes place five years after the original Nonsensical RP ended.
