8	* BorrowedBiometricBypass: After knocking out a Kraang, Donatello uses the head of its robot body to get past a retinal scanner.

16	** To be fair, Raph was part of the reason why Donnie went after Kirby in the first place. If he hadn't told Donnie he had no chance with April, then he wouldn't have gone after Kirby on his own.
17	* ItsAllMyFault: Raph has a rather subtle version of this trope when he realizes what he said back at the lair is why Donnie went to rescue Kirby by himself without even telling anyone.
18	* LaymansTerms: Donnie is asked to use these when explaining the Kraang’s encrypted message to April.
19	* MadeOfIron: The Newtralizer, who not only shrugs off several Kraang laser blasts and blows from Leonardo's katana and Raphael's sais, but even after getting ''crushed by a car'', he seems no worse for wear.
20	* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Raph suggesting that Donnie leave him out of his attempts to impress April causes him to go solo. In turn, Donnie accidentally unleashes the Newtralizer. Also, the ending revealed that the Kraang wanted the turtles to rescue Mr. O'Neil.
21	* TheNicknamer: Not Mikey this time, but Donnie.
22	* RunningGag: Raph trying to make machines work by smashing them, only to get stopped by Leo. It later comes to a head when Donnie takes Raph's sai and smashes the lift controls to escape.
23	* ShipTease: To Donnie’s credit, his plan of rescuing April’s dad in order to get her to like him more did actually work as she gives him a big hug of appreciation.

26	* TrailersAlwaysSpoil: A meta-example. The trailer for Booyaka-Showdown shows Kirby in the lair, so we know the turtles' mission in this one will be successful.

28	* UseYourHead: Mikey's interpretation of how Donnie would bypass a Kraang security using a Kraangdroid.
29	* WalkingArmory: Newtralizer's weapons include lasers, missiles, sawblades, exploding mines, and he also has blades attached to his tail.
30	* WhamEpisode: The Turtles ''finally'' rescue Kirby O' Neil, though it's implied that he's NotHimself throughout the episode, and the end reveals that the Shredder and the Kraang actually have teamed up, [[Recap/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012S1E22PulverizerReturns just as they considered it two episodes ago]].
31	* WhatWouldXDo: The turtles come across the same door Donatello went through and ask themselves what he would do, seemingly setting them up to use the Kraang's body as he had. Instead, they decide to use it as a battering ram. When this sets off the alarms, Mikey cries that Donatello's idea was terrible.
