8	* CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot: It turns out, Lana did not need to get any signatures or do a ScoobyDooHoax at all because her fish friends are endangered species and therefore are protected by federal law. In Lana's defense, she did not know such a thing until Lisa found out what kind of fish her friends are.
9	* CoveredInMud: Lana and Hops when a bulldozer dumps a load of mud on them. Lana remains this way even when she goes home, leaving a trail of mud behind, much to her parents' dismay. And it causes Leni to mistake her for a monster, thus giving Lana the idea to try a ScoobyDooHoax to save the pond. At the end of the episode, she ends up covered with mud again.
10	* DidntThinkThisThrough: It didn't occur to Lana that her lake monster hoax would attract a large number of people hoping to see the monster for themselves.

15	* GreenAesop: Lana stops at nothing to save her favorite sturgeons' home from construction, and eventually succeeds when she finds out that they are an endangered species protected by law.
16	* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Lana dressing up as a mud monster to scare away the construction workers results in the Tall Timbers Park gaining tourism. Lana does the mud monster bit again at another pond so the public will pay attention to that one instead, however, the new pond is where the construction moved to and with the mud monster no longer inhabiting Tall Timbers Park, the construction is moved back there.
17	* ImpossibleTask: The only legal way to halt the construction is to start a petition and gather signatures of at least half the population of Royal Woods, which is 10,000 signatures. Lana knows how hopeless this is in the short time she has, hence why she resorts to a ScoobyDooHoax. She eventually tries it when her monster plan backfires, but fails.
18	* LeftTheBackgroundMusicOn: The ''Peanuts''-style trumpet that plays whenever someone rambles to Lana is revealed to be Luna actually playing a trumpet.

25	* ScoobyDooHoax: Inspired by how Leni was frightened when she saw her covered in mud, Lana rallies the animals to pose as a swamp monster and scare the bulldozer driver off. It works, but then backfires because it attracts a lot of people who hope to see the monster.
26	* ShoutOut: Whenever someone rambles about something towards Lana, their talking transforms into a playing trumpet, similar to how the adults talk in ''ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}}''. It is later revealed to be Luna playing a trumpet.
