* If there ever was a spiteful Goddess, Hera is that Goddess. She's the goddess of marriage and yet her husband Zeus is one of the most unfaithful womanizers imaginable. She's known for retaliating against any woman who catches Zeus' fancy. Once, she forced Leto (Apollo's and Artemis' mother) to never give birth on any place connected to land or sea and suffer eternity in labor. Another time, she tricked Semele to have Zeus reveal his true form to her, and when he did, his thunderbolts destroyed her body. She also killed the children of Lamia and turned her into a monster for even catching Zeus' attention. As Zeus is too strong to directly punish for his infidelities, she instead targets his liasions and the fruit of their union instead.
* Her relationship with her family [[BigScrewedUpFamily is contentious on a good day]]. [[AbusiveParents She isn't the best mother to Vulcan]]; he's disabled due to her or Zeus throwing himm out of Mt Olympus as a baby for being TheGrotesque. Ares isn't given much love either, though admittedly [[EveryoneHasStandards his rash and hot-headed personality is too much for her]]. Still, blood is ThickerThanWater, though the blacksmith did get revenge by gluing her to her throne. [[EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas Ares on his end still loves his mother]] as well. Hera hasn't stated her opinion on her lesser-known daughter Enyo (or Bellona [[VideoGame/{{Smite}} as she's now going by]]) yet, [[BloodKnight though knowing her]] it's probably a negative one.
** After leaning about Aphrodite's own insecurities, Hera has taken every opportunity to mock her...all to punish her on constantly cheating on her son. Aphrodite was enraged, thinks Hera's a massive bitch and told her off [[MoralMyopia for not punishing Ares as much]] [[AFamilyAffair as he's half of the affair]]. She doesn't get along with Aphrodite's friend Kyu either due to her similarities with the LoveGoddess. Despite them not getting along Hera will still behave for her grandson Eros as she's fond of the [[LoveGoddess love god]]; [[ShipperOnDeck she thinks he and Psyche are adorable together]]. It probably helps that [[ObnoxiousInLaws Aphrodite has the opposite opinion on her son's marriage]].
** With Zeus' other children, Hera merely tolerates them if only Zeus [[PapaWolf actually wants to be a dad to them]] and doesn't want Mt Olympus to be in too much chaos. Their sister Hestia has decided to be moral support for them, especially Bacchus because [[YouKilledMyFather Hera orchestrated his mother's death]]. Despite her reputation as a WickedStepmother Hera actually has a decent relationship with Zeus' kids from before they married like Athena and Persephone. Surprisingly she can be on good terms with a couple of Zeus' demigod kids too: (for being a NiceGuy and MommasBoy [[HappilyMarried with a good marriage]]) and Jason Grace (for being a her champion and possibly because ''[[SplitPersonality Jupiter]]'' fathered him). Still not comfortable inviting them over, though.
** Her beef with Hercules is legendary. She tried to kill him as a baby with snakes, and as an adult drove him to madness and kill his wife and children. His atonement for this is why he did the Twelve Labors. It was only after saving her and Athena from being raped in the Gigantomachy, and his becoming a deity after he died, for them to finally tolerate each other. As such they'll usually able to resort to only bickering insults when angry at one another. However, other stories have them go back to hating each other [[VideoGame/GodOfWarIII like when she pitted him and Kratos against each other]]. Still, at least something other than pure contempt exists between the two: this couldn't be said about the Colossi as they remind her of the giants from the Gigantomachy, or Kratos for his deicidal rampage, killing Ares [[NeckSnap and herself]] for daring to call Pandora a whore. [[LadyDrunk She blames the last part on the wine]].
** By contrast to her and Zeus' kids, she has a much better relationship with her siblings. Sure Poseidon's shenanigans can get on her nerves, but he and Hera have never really been at odds. Hades is only ever antagonistic [[EverybodyHatesHades in certain adaptations]], with the ''Kid Icarus'' version [[CompleteMonster being so terrible]] [[DecompositeCharacter as to be a different person]]. Hades proper is the level-headed member of the family and actually a good husband. By contrast, she feels only utter hatred towards her father Cronus, since he cannibalized her and four of her siblings.
** Some other things to note about Hera: not only is she not Zeus' first wife, but according to some sources he may have had up to six wives before her. Comparisons have been made between Zeus and [[Pantheon/{{Fathers}} King Henry VIII]], but never in earshot. Occasionally [[Pantheon/VillainousPowers Eris]] is her kid, but [[Pantheon/{{Mothers}} Nox]] says she's hers and [[TheDreaded Hera wisely avoided any custody battles]]. She blames the confusion on who she's the mother to Zeus being such a womanizer he's not even sure how many wives he's had. She's at least confident Hebe, goddess of youth, is her daughter.
* [[CrossoverCosmology Outside of her pantheon]], [[OddFriendship she has a surprisingly cordial relationship]] with Innana/Ishtar despite [[ReallyGetsAround her obvious]] [[LoveGoddess similarities]] to Aphrodite. Like Hera she's an enforcer of divine justice along with a shared vengeful side in the field of love, and a queen of heaven. Isis, who went to great effort to revive her husband, offered the two a seat so they might discuss their love issues and queenly duties together. The three form a FreudianTrio in their friendship, with Hera and Isis being one of very few to calm down Ishtar on her rampages.
* Yes, [[BrotherSisterIncest she is married to her brother]]. It's very much a non-issue for deities. While many are [[{{Squick}} squicked]] by and Haruka and Sora's relationship, Hera wholeheartedly supports it. And while polyamory isn't exactly her thing, Aegon the Conqueror has a strong and faithful relationship with his sister-wives so she's cool with it. She's not exactly cool with Cersei and Jaime. Hera recognizes a lot of similarities between her and Cersei, however she doesn't like how she not only cheats on her spouse but on the sibling that she supposedly truly loves. As for Jaime she's softer on him despite being a homewrecker since in terms of the heart, he does try his best to be loyal to Cersei and they only "broke up" when it was clear how toxic Cersei is.
* Someone was dumb enough to say to her "why don't you just cheat on Zeus to give him a taste of his own medicine?", and both Zeus and Hera smote joined up to smite said idiot. Zeus does not like those who try to take advantage of his wife; when some [[StupidEvil idiot creep]] called Ixion lusted after Hera, Zeus tested him with a cloud sex doll. He violated that despite among other things the rules of SacredHospitality, [[MultipleChoicePast maybe creating the centaurs]] and Ixion [[AndIMustScream spent eternity on a burning wheel in Tartarus]] for his crine As for Hera cheating on Zeus would be the height of hypocrisy. Instead [[VideoGame/DOTA2 she made a bet Zeus couldn't mingle with the mortals without womanizing]], only to prove her wrong. She was enraged when she ascended and found out he was doing just that. This prompted her to 'divorce' from him...[[StatusQuoIsGod until they inevitably came back]] [[EnemyMine against shared foes like Kratos]] and Typhon. Also, smite anyone who claims [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHercules she had a fling with said Typhon]].
* Zone-tan was declared blasphemous for drawing Rule 34 of her with someone other than Zeus, or Zeus with other people. Manly the former as it makes Hera look like a tremendous hypocrite; otherwise she doesn't care that she makes lewd artwork. [[{{Troll}} Zone-tan made an entire folder of Rule 34 of Hera with Zeus' rivals]] out of spite, forcing Zeus to intervene less Hera go on a rampage. All he said to her was "[[{{Hell}} Remember what happened to Ixion]]. [[TranquilFury Do Not Be An Ixion]]". While the lewd artwork still becomes a thing, she's wisely stopped making that. This was mainly done as a favor for Zeus since he's paying for her lewd animations, [[EveryoneHasStandards but Hera isn't going to kinkshame him for]] ''that'' and is happy with the progress he made anyway.
* Because she is the Goddess of Marriage, Hera hates anyone who takes that holy right lightly; she's cursed Scott Summers for leaving his first wife for Jean Grey, then going on to cheat on her with Emma Frost, who Hera also hates. Originally she targeted Peter Parker for erasing his entire marriage just to save his dying, ''elderly'' aunt, but calmed down when she [[ComicBook/TheAmazingSpiderManRenewYourVows learned of a timeline]] where he not only kept his happy marriage but also had a daughter. She instead finds a new target in the form of Ato-ko Shriogane, who sabotages the relationship of lovers for her own amusement. Ato-ko, for her part, didn't seem to care but finds herself treading lightly around Hera lately.
* Ironically for her role Hera isn't popular within the House of Pantheon/FamilyAndRelatives. On her own children, while she's not as appalling as the Child Abuse Supporters anyone who's read of Vulcan and Ares [[AbusiveParents knows she's not a good mom]]. That's not to say [[ThickerThanWater she doesn't care for them to an extent, or vice versa]]. Hera actually has an appreciation for strong, benevolent mothers like Chi-Chi, and those who can be "boss-ass bitches" like Oleanna Tyrell. Also, while she's not all that into illegitimate children even if they weren't the result of an affair, she's not going to fault the likes of Greg Universe for not marrying when he already had a strong partnership with Rose...who as an otherworldly being, kind of reminds her of the occasional wholesome [[DivineDate divine dates]] that can happen.
* Josuke, being the result of an affair, thinks that [[FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse her blaming lovechildren because she can't get back at Zeus is a horrible excuse]] and even went so far as to claim her attitude is why Zeus can't stay faithful to save his life. [[TranquilFury The Queen of Olympus was surprisingly subdued]] [[IResembleThatRemark to not give him ammo]]. [[CoolAndUnusualPunishment Instead, she constantly]] [[BerserkButton insults his hair]] knowing full-well [[KarmaHoudini she's too powerful for Josuke to get back at]]. Jon Snow really doesn't like Hera for more personal reasons: she's like Catelyn to her husband's bastards, except a thousand times worse. Catelyn herself can relate to Hera's frustrations, [[EveryoneHasStandards but still thinks her treatment to Zeus' bastards is psychotic]].
* While Hera is well known to be tyrannical, Diana of Themyscira is one of her few soft spots, being the princess and heroine of the Amazon people Hera was in charge of creating. Diana actually thought her ''mother'' was cursed or something, but the Queen of the Gods assured her she wasn't and appreciated her concern. However she's a source of contention when Hercules is mentioned [[AdaptationalVillainy because of how he acts in the DC Universe]]. They have had their arguments, as some records have Diana be one of Zeus' lovechildren, [[DependingOnTheWriter however sometimes Diana]] [[TrulySingleParent was molded from clay by Hippolyta]]. Further confusing Hera is that while she is a co-creator of the Amazons in the DC Universe and Ares is their arch-enemy, in traditional myth Ares is the founder of the Amazons.
* Surprisingly Hera has a soft spot for Homer Simpson. Given [[ParentsAsPeople he's a flawed parent]] and husband, and [[LazyBum rather slothful]] ([[JerkWithAHeartOfGold but not that bad a guy]]) he was shocked too, so she decided to explain why to him and Marge: both of them have had multiple temptations to cheat on their spouse but always overcame it. [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS10E10VivaNedFlanders Even when Homer married a floozy in Las Vegas when super-wasted]], [[EveryoneHasStandards he had enough judgement to never "consummate" it]]. Their marriage is flawed, but strong enough she respects it. Any HappilyMarried deities, [[UnholyMatrimony even evil ones]], can count on her protection [[EveryoneHasStandards unless they cannibalize, break guest right or kinslay]]. Also, she has limits to vengeance against cheaters: when her old hero Jason broke his oaths and planned to abandon Medea, [[OffingTheOffspring she their kids]] rather than endure the FateWorseThanDeath his abandonment would cause. Things went so bad for Jason [[EvenEvilHasStandards she couldn't think of a worse punishment]] [[CruelMercy and spared him]].
* It's true that Hera's overshadowed by Zeus' power, but for a god she's no pushover. For example, [[CurbStompBattle she effortlessly disarmed Artemis of her bow]] in ''Literature/TheIliad''. Like Zeus, she also has power over the weather. Also, like her husband she hates oathbreakers and especially violators of SacredHospitality. It's the main reason few in the House of Betrayal and Treachery want her to visit. As for Walder Frey, he's only "safe" so far because Zeus and Hera can't agree on what IronicHell they should give him. Hera eventually convinced her husband to loan one of her thunderbolts to strike Prince Hans, since as a goddess of marriage and women he doesn't like [[LoveInterestTraitor the shit he pulled]].
* As with most of the Greek pantheon Hera considers [[IAmAHumanitarian eating the flesh of your own kind]] abhorrent, which is why she's blacklisted the Hall of Flesh Eaters. Granted, not all members there are technically cannibals, but most are. On a less severe note she's quick to call out Rhaegar and Lyanna Targaryen; the former ditched his wife (and [[Series/GameOfThrones possibly]] annulled the marriage), and while the latter justified it as a loving elopement Hera pointed out that [[LoveRuinsTheRealm it ruined the kingdom]]. This is also why while she has a little bit of sympathy for Romeo and Juliet, she disregards their star-crossed romance for the effect it had on their kingdoms. Rhaegar thinks Hera's a {{Hypocrite}} as she once overthrew Zeus and took the kingdom of the gods, only to be a terrible manager and eventually losing control of the situation.
* She's heard rumors that Herc's been seen exploring the House of Knowledge with a young pink-haired girl called Illya after a recent conversation with Diana, but whatever connection it may have to this matter hasn't been made clear to her yet. Hercules later found her in the Academy [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CBe8_OVVIAA0kim.jpg bizarrely clad in a Japanese school uniform]]. It's at this point many are wondering if Hera's new form is her version of a midlife crisis and is her trying to act as young as possible. Also, she's heard comments about [[Manga/FutureDiary another deity]] that others say remind them of Hera. For her part, Hera doesn't have any real opinion on Yuno and pretty much keeps to herself. She does mention, however, that Yuno's methods might be [[EvenEvilHasStandards a bit too much for her own taste]]. [[{{Hypocrite}} When others heard that, they just rolled their eyes]].
* While Hera is a {{Yandere}}, she doesn't care for being called one due to social stigma. Nor does she like that Yuno Gasai's first name is derived from her Roman name of Juno. Another {{Yandere}} she can't stand for is Alex Forrest as despite arguably being as clingy as her, she's a homewrecker and a mistress wanting to ruin a marriage once more. However out of the squad she does have a soft spot for Sekai Saionji for her revenge against her unfaithful boyfriend. While she isn't a goddess of love and hates Aphrodite, she still appreciates genuine and uncorrupted love and it's why she's an ally of the Nurturers. She has a more competitive streak against Flonne and Shelyn when it comes to love, however they're a lot less lustful and vindictive about it than her and Aphrodite so [[FriendlyRivalry their rivalry is a lot more lighthearted]].
* The most well-known of her sacred animals is the peacock. The eyes of a peacock are a tribute to the hundred-eyed giant Argus, who died as an extension of Zeus' never-ending quest to hide his booty calls. She was happy to learn [[ProudPeacock there was a trope for her animal]] and sought out its representation. Learning it was Lord Shen...was disappointing. And she's since ignored him, though it's not like her goals are relevant to him. An animal she did like was Cheems, as he opposes all horny deities while Hera was sick of her husband's horniness. [[RageAgainstTheHeavens Cheems actually bonked Zeus into horny jail]], [[GoneHorriblyRight but the power led him to bonk Ares and he would've bonked half of the Greek pantheon]] [[ImmortalityPromiscuity for their horniness]] had she not retracted those boons. Zeus latter confessed the shiba inu still lacked the power to bonk him [[ActuallyPrettyFunny but he took a dive because it amused him]]. He still gave advice to his wife not to trust the meme dog as their 300 year wedding night might turn Cheems' anger on her as well.
* Marriage is her most well-known domain, but as you can guess women and childbirth are important roles for her. That said, she's not the being literally responsible for childbirth in her mythology, and some stories have her hold that goddess hostage to thwart yet another bastard of Zeus from coming into the world. Within the Trope Pantheon, there's [[CrossoverCosmology a different set of gods]] in charge of childbirth: Tawaret. Being a lot more light-hearted and [[ReallyGetsAround more like Aphrodite in her love life]], the two often butt heads in competition. She loves to get a rise out of Hera by saying "I banged your husband", to which Zeus tried[[note]]read: failed miserably[[/note]] by saying "oh please, that barely means any...[[OhCrap wait]]". Despite the bad blood, [[EnemyMine the two will work together to protect childbirth]]. [[MoralityPet Hera's at her best behavior around Offred]] as [[BabyFactory her situation]] is something she pities.
* [[WesternAnimation/BloodOfZeus At some point]], Hera's wrath became so intense as to release giants on Olympus. Or at least, a version of her [[CompositeCharacter given]] [[PublicDomainCharacter her nature]]. This evil side of Hera needed the intervention of a different Zeus, one from Disney's take on ''WesternAnimation/{{Hercules}}'', to suppress it. This alternate Zeus [[JerkassBall is sometimes capable of divine ass-hattery]], [[EverybodyLovesZeus but he's otherwise a representation of what she wants to see in her husband]]. Being around him also has the effect [[AdaptationalHeroism of bringing about her compassionate side]], and shockingly enough [[RelatedInTheAdaptation have her treat Hercules as a son]]. The major downside is that Hades is usually stuck on [[EverybodyHatesHades "villain mode"]] when they're together, so Hera and the Disney version of Zeus felt it best to only have short visits.
* Even away from the other Zeus, [[Webcomic/LoreOlympus Hera has been less vindictive because of it]]. [[AdaptationalNiceGuy She's been more empathetic and more willing to just blame Zeus]], however as a Greek god her mood can still change. Also worth noting that as envious as she can get, [[EvenEvilHasStandards even she was shocked by]] [[OffingTheOffspring what Medea]] [[NoKillLikeOverkill did]] to Jason, enough that despite being an oathbreaker she couldn't punish him [[FateWorseThanDeath worse than he already was]]. Finally, for all her contempt to Zeus's flings with mortals she's not against the DivineDate in principle, so long as the couples remain faithful. She has a fondness for Holo and the Radiant Goddess for proving that gods can have true love with mortals and behave themselves, and wishes their partners a happy life.
* One of her and Zeus' more light-hearted arguments was about how [[UsefulNotes/{{Jupiter}} the planet named after his Roman aspect]] [[UsefulNotes/TheMoonsOfJupiter has plenty of moons named after his partners]], but none named Hera or Juno. He tried to cheer her up by saying [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juno_(spacecraft) there's an important satellite called Juno orbiting Jupiter now]], only for her scoff by saying "[[UranusIsShowing you're talking out]] [[Pantheon/AstronomicalBodies Uranus]]", which led [[Pantheon/BloodAndGore their grandfather]] going "somebody mention me?". Despite their arguments, Zeus still lets her use his lightning bolts when they're on the warpath. Outside of this, she's recently gained powers over gravity, fire, ice, earth, and light. However, [[http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130622064829/pad/images/4/4b/Pet599.png the]] [[http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130620034512/pad/images/8/8d/Pet597.png last]] [[http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140227192126/pad/images/b/bd/Pet1189.png four]] [[http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140424193844/pad/images/a/a1/Pet1250.png need]] her to change appearances in order to fit those elements.
* For those still wondering, Hera ''was'' involved in a coup against Zeus in mythology, and it's a painful reminder doing so is a terrible idea. She actually managed to work with Poseidon, Apollo and Athena to briefly dethrone him, [[WeAreStrugglingTogether only for them to immediately bicker on who should be in charge now]]. This let Zeus retake his throne and after being dangled off the edge of the sky and above the void she's ''very'' reluctant to try doing so again. In a perverse sort of irony, [[VideoGame/FateGrandOrder there's a universe]] where ''Zeus'' went (even more) power-mad and the other gods rebelled. It ended even worse for that Hera as remnants and Klironomia(Nanomachines) were implemented into one of the women Zeus slept with, Europa...who also turned against Lostbelt Zeus. [[Memes/JoJosBizarreAdventure Hera has sworn she'll never forgive the Japanese]].

* Her thirst for vengeance against those fairer than her remains unquenched in the immortal world due to many of the most beautiful goddesses having powers at least as great as hers, but this only makes her all the more bitter and dangerous.
* As a practicing witch, she harbours great hatred for [[Pantheon/LoveAndAffection Judge Claude Frollo]], and no other Disney villain worth their life -- aside from Gaston -- will be seen with him.
* Is not very happy that Snow White has ascended into the House of Royalty and not her. Because of this, she has made countless attempts to kill her, which are always foiled, often by [[Pantheon/NarrativeTone Jak]].
* She, Vega, Sectonia and Kuja have formed a group known as "The Rule of Beauty". Where they would argue who of them is the prettiest of all (though Grimhilde prefers "fairest of them all"), they are willing to ally together to kill anyone who thinks they are better than them.
** At one point, Sho Minamimoto once appeared before their group, shouting into a bullhorn that he has more beauty than all of them, using his unique standards of beauty. This lead to a fight between the group and Minamimoto, but it was cut short when Minamimoto decided he had better things to do. But now he's on the Rule of Beauty's blacklist.
* Hates [[Pantheon/OffensivePowers Weiss Schnee]], because she reminds Grimhilde a bit ''too much'' of Snow White.
* Likes to swear up and down that [[Series/OnceUponATime she was not in love with a stable boy, and she did not eventually redeem herself]]. The fact that Regina is Zuko's high priest doesn't help at all, and the fact that her alternate version is quite beloved by the fandom makes her steam with rage.
** She ''especially'' denies [[Film/{{Descendants}} having been banished to an island where she has a daughter, Evie, who pulls a]] HeelFaceTurn alongside the offspring of Maleficent, Jafar, and Cruella.
* One backstory implies that Grimhilde was originally a good stepmother to Snow White until she was driven mad by her late father's spirit becoming the Magic Mirror.
* She doesn't really like interacting with Nixon's Head: she finds him creepy. And crazy.
* During her research, the Queen found out [[Pantheon/LoveOther Imperator Furiosa]] and [[Pantheon/RuinAndDestruction Ellen Ripley]] had [[Film/SnowWhiteAndTheHuntsman a connection]] [[Film/SnowWhiteATaleOfTerror with her]]. Both declined any attempt to join her forces.
* One theorist [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj48E3QhE_8 researched the actual ingredient for her poison apple]] and found that it was [[spoiler:just a dose of deadly nightshade]]. Oh, and that it wasn't [[spoiler:love's first kiss by that Prince]] that cured the poison, but [[spoiler:"activated carbons" emitted by the Seven Dwarfs from all their mining]].

* Ascended for becoming perhaps the 2nd most infamous Yandere in all of anime (behind Yuno of course) in one of the most notorious yandere scenes of all time.
* Kotonoha supposedly trained with Bullseye for her swordsmanship, which could explain why she was able to slash Sekai's right side of her neck without the handsaw getting covered in blood. She actually trained Iaijutsu as a mortal, much to the surprise of many.
* Kotonoha's cooking is [[LethalChef absolutely atrocious]]. It's the other reason why Terumi keeps her around: for him it's heaven on Earth and he loves seeing other gods cringe anyway.
* Was... Quite surprised to see her former ally Makoto Itou back in the Pantheon, as an actual deity too. She stopped being enemies with him after she found out he ascended to be with her, though she did notice the venom Makoto had for Terumi because of the event that made them enemies. [[OhCrap This isn't going to end well...]]
** Kotonoha was even more surprised that Sekai Saionji ascended into the Pantheon too, sharing Houses with her at that. She inmediately clashed with her over Makoto after Sekai tried to kill him for talking with her. However, their relationship is no longer considered that of bitter enemies, as they have found that they can get along so long as the subject of conversation is not Makoto. Though if Makoto ever enters into the conversation, [[CatFight well...]]

* Enemies: [[Pantheon/{{Planning}} Light Yagami]], [[Pantheon/OtherCriminals Misa Amane]] and [[Pantheon/IntrovertFlaws Teru Mikami]], [[Pantheon/SourcesOfInformation Peacock]], [[Pantheon/UnlivingBeings Bloody Marie]]
* OddFriendship: [[Pantheon/ClothingTheme Queen Elsa]], Randall Boggs
* Conflicting Opinions: [[Pantheon/OtherPowers Kurapika]]
* With L in the pantheon, Matt by his side and Near absent, Mello has made clear his intention of joining forces with his predecessor and catching Kira once and for all. If necessary, he has no qualms about stooping to methods even more unorthodox than those used by L. In fact, his burning hatred for being second place has lead to his title of [[SecondPlaceIsForLosers Second Place Hatred]].
** He has expressed some pity towards Randall Boggs, as he knows exactly how it feels to be in second place all the time. It is currently unknown what will come from this, but Randall is at the very least happy to finally have someone realize the pain he goes through.
*** Rumor has it that compared to Near, Mello is always losing to him at everything. [[https://eychanchan.deviantart.com/art/Death-Note-Always-Second-46884311?q=boost:popular%20death%20note&ref=weheartit EVERYTHING.]]
* Little has changed since Near's own ascension. However, once Near heard that Mello had ascended, Near headed to the House of Food to meet with Mello, who at the time was preparing for another verbal fight with Near. He was stunned when Near thanked him for providing some of the final clues of the Kira case and presented him with a bar of Mello's favorite chocolate as a way of saying "no hard feelings". While Mello still refuses to call Near a friend, he ''is'' somewhat more tolerant of his presence now, even going so far as to promise to help Near should Light attempt to become Kira again.
** Since the ascension of Misa and Teru, two other Kiras working for Light, his grudge against Near has been diminished a bit more as they are now working together with L and even Rem at times to help keep them at bay.
*** That said, Mello stated that he has no idea on what to think about Near [[https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b8/35/e4/b835e4c7a6ff1e5f27ac424fb89e78fc.png having a puppet version of him.]]
* Spends a [[HoYay suspicious]] amount of time with his herald, Matt.
* Has been in the House of Crime with [[Film/TheGodFather Vito Corelone]] for unknown reasons.
* Despite their differences, he and Elsa have formed an OddFriendship, over their fondness for chocolate.
** He also found his way to Stocking's good graces, even sharing some of his chocolate for her sweets. They also reached a height in their friendship when they heard of The King Of All Cosmos and decided to submit a request for a candy covered Katamari star. Surprisingly, the King ''also'' had a SweetTooth, and brought the duo to a real-life version of a Gingerbread House from the story of ''"Hansel And Gretel",'' where his son rolled it all up and presented it to them. Due to this, they convinced him to add this unique sweet to the house of Food's menu, with his son rolling up orders for either them or to satisfy the cravings of the Gourmet Race Club.
* Due to sharing a creator, he has formed something of an alliance with Ashirogi Muto a.k.a Mashiro Moritaka and Akito Takagi. It did anger him that Takagi looked just like Light, but between his admiration of every Manga/DeathNote character and his general lack of similarities to the personality of Light, Mello has decided to overlook that... For now.
* Met Kurapika in one of the Kurta's one-hour-a-day forced tours to the outside and talked to him for a bit (actually pretty rare, considering the Kurapika's distant nature). Despite both being blond, hot-tempered [[TeenGenius teen geniuses]] with [[ViewerGenderConfusion confusing appearances]] who had [[FromNobodyToNightmare managed to reach very high ranks in the mafia]] in order to achieve {{Revenge}} (and against villains with [[Creator/MamoruMiyano similar voices]]), Mello thought Kurapika's methods were too ''soft''. [[note]] Even if Kurapika had resorted to kidnapping, too, you can't really ''achieve'' things unless you're ''really'' willing to take risks, even if those risks involve other people. You can't hope to get blood in your hands if you don't go all the way. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking He should loosen up a little, too]]. Geez, he might be even worse than Near in that regard. [[/note]] He didn't really ''hate'' Kurapika, but his HonorBeforeReason attitude did irritate him a little.
* Surprisingly, while Soichiro is willing to work with him, he is actually quite angry with him. The reason for this is because Melo is responsible for the kidnapping of Sayu Yagami, his daughter, as well as her being in such a state of shock she needs to be kept on a wheelchair and moved by her mother. Mello has yet to respond to this revelation.
** [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes Light was furious to find out that his sister got shellshocked from the entire situation,]] and decided to do something more creative than just using his Death Note to kill Mello to get some form of payback. He decided to use Misa and Teru to leave an anonymous tip at Peacock and Marie's doorstep to lie that his mafia group was planning on getting into child slave trafficking. The next morning, Mello was found dead burning in a truck inside the house of Pantheon/FireAndHeat. While the two girls did found out that Mello's group [[NotMeThisTime had no intention on doing child slave trafficking]] and did apologize [[DeathIsASlapOnTheWrist after Mello managed to revive into his temple,]] Peacock and Marie still have their eyes on Mello and his mafia group.

* Opposed by: [[Pantheon/MagicAndSorcery Stephen Strange]], [[Pantheon/{{Destinies}} Neo]], [[Pantheon/{{Heroism}} Superman/Clark Kent]]
* The tragic man that lets his jealousy and insecurity manipulated by [[BigBad Iago]] to kill both his wife Desdemona and commits suicide after learning the truth, Othello's spirit wandering aimlessly within the Pantheon until being discovered by the House of Love. Out of pity, many of them voted to let him enter the Pantheon under the temple that is the reason for him to commit his most famous act. Othello took the chance to have some form redemption for his action and swore to make up for the spirit and memory of Desdemona in any way that he can.
* He and his creator William Shakespeare had a sit down and heart to heart. While Othello is still uneasy around his creator because of his tragic ending, Othello is still thankful that Shakespeare gave him a name, character arc, titled the work after him and remove the racism when adapting the source material.
** With Shakespeare's introduction, he met another StarCrossedLovers Romeo and Juliet. He congrats them for finally being to be together and gives advice for the young couple so their relationship doesn't turn out like him. Doubly so because Romeo and him share many look-a-likes.
* In his daily duty, Othello usually tries to advice his followers to either give up on their obsession or working out their feeling in a healthy way to avoid the same mistake that he did and would apologizes for any incident his followers cost and harshly discipline them.
* Dissociate himself with Frollo and Gaston because both of them have resorted to murder in order to prove their obsession, something that reminds Othello eerily of his own shameful act.
** He especially despises Frollo because of the latter's hypocrisy, the fact that Esmeralda didn't return his affection AND being a big racist against Romani, something that Othello absolutely despises.
* Because of his action, Othello's very presence is a point of contention in the House of Love. Some are disgusted by his action. Some pitied him for being manipulated by Iago. Even a few thinks his act is romantic and wish their their partner would do the same. Some even took his action to threaten their partner to never cheat on them.
** Esmeralda, Belle and the Beast are all wary of him due to his action reminds them of Gaston and Frollo. He acknowledges that he can never undid the murder of Desdemona and tearfully said that he is trying to atone for it every single day in the Pantheon. This speech caused the three to soften their opinion on him.
* Because of his long history of performance, Othello ended up with many look-a-like in the Pantheon, include many with different ethnicity:
** King Arthur and Othello once had a heart-to-heart because of [[Creator/RichardBurton appearance]] and Othello feels sorry because Guinevere ''did'' cheat on him.
** Was incredibly disturbed when found out that he [[Creator/BillyCrudup looked like]] the live-action version of [[Pantheon/PowerArchetypes Dr. Manhattan]] and avoids visit his place as often as possible. The same story also [[Creator/AnthonyHopkins happened]] when he encountered [[Pantheon/VillainousAttitude Hannibal]] [[Pantheon/{{Mentalities}} Lecter]].
** Doctor Strange once stormed into his temple because he [[Creator/ChiwetelEjiofor mistook]] Othello for one of his enemy [[Film/DoctorStrange2016 Baron Mordo]]. After clearing out the misunderstanding, Strange doesn't particularly like interact with him given that he had lost many of his love ones to death.
** Neo once thought [[Creator/LaurenceFishburne he is his friend Morpheus]] and was quite disappointed when that isn't the case. Neo also doesn't particularly like Othello either because he [[spoiler:also lost Trinity]]. Superman also mistook him for his editor Perry and, after knowing what his temple represents, suddenly had the urge to punch his Regime counterpart once again for attempting to kidnap Lois from his universe.
** Simba was disturbed when heard that Othello [[Creator/JamesEarlJones shares a voice]] similar to his father's. After learning about the latter's story, Simba feels incredibly sorry for Othello because the lion had also let his doubt consumed and hurt everyone around him for a long time.
** Has a deep hatred of the Macbeths because they overthrown their king and the two of them share many look-a-like with either him or his lost love Desdemona. Another part of Othello is also jealous that they're HappilyMarried to each other. Not to mention that Lady Macbeth once tried to seduce him to help her cause of overthrowing their superior Shakespeare by posing at his dead love Desdemona, causing Othello to nearly kill her if not for Macbeth's intervention
** Much to the surprise of everyone, he is on decent term with Professor X and Jean-Luc Picard because, outside of [[Creator/PatrickStewart similar in appearance]], the two of them are sympathetic to his flaws and are working to help him overcome them.
** Once mistook Lara Croft for his love Desdemona and broke down to tear right after kneeling in front of her begging for forgiveness. After reluctantly clearing out the misunderstanding, Lara took pity on him and is one of the people that hope for his redemption.
** Mario was once attacked by Othello because the latter mistook [[Creator/BobHoskins one of his live action version]] for his arch enemy Iago. After clearing out the misunderstanding, the two has a friendly relationship with each other.
* Advises his sort-of DistaffCounterpart Ooi to not let her jealousy turn into distrust and violence like he did.
* Being a victim of racism and one of the first "[[AmbiguouslyBrown black]]" protagonist whose work is a LongRunner, Othello understandably HATES any and all racists in the Pantheon, especially hearing the rising of the slave trade in the Western world during the 19th-20th century. This is why he promised to murder Eric Cartman and Calvin Candie whenever he saw them.
** One night, when he was trying to sneak in to kill Candie, a black man named Stephen asked what Othello is doing. When answering that he is killing a slave owner and offers to free him, not only did Stephen rejects, he sounds the alarm and Othello was almost captured for Candie to enslave. Othello barely escaped and carried intense hatred for Stephen for being a BoomerangBigot.
