Tragically, 17's overconfidence led him to be absorbed anyway, leading 16 to be knocked silly by a much stronger Semi-Perfect Cell. Later during the Cell Games, his head got knocked off his body, got Mr. Satan to throw him to Son Gohan, spoke words of encouragement to Gohan, only to be crushed underfoot by Mr. Perfect Cell. This ironically was 16's greatest contribution to saving the Earth, as it was Gohan's RageBreakingPoint into going Super Saiyan 2. |

He doesn't discuss the matter of that programming with the others much, as it's too awkward to bring up now. |
