----
* The Duplo alien attack. While yes, it's somewhat comical, it's also somewhat terrifying that they kept ''coming back'' whenever they tried to rebuild. Also becomes somewhat depressing when you consider that Finn probably created Apocalypseburg out of sheer artistic frustration that anything colorful he tried to make kept getting destroyed by his little sister.
* Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi was a horse when the others walked in after her meeting. She then offers to take [[AFormYouAreComfortableWith a more comfortable form]] for the group: a three-eyed octopus... thing. [[NightmareRetardant Somewhat alleviated when we later learn she's not evil and was probably genuinely trying to find a better form for them.]]
-->'''Batman:''' No, go back! The horse was much more palatable!
** [[NeverTrustATrailer Not to mention in the movie, her voice in that form is much scarier than what it sounded like in the trailer.]]
* Emmet and Rex stumble upon a forest after landing. As they continue, the party is picked off one by one. It can give a sense of uneasiness seeing that suddenly your friends just... disappear.
** [[StepfordSuburbia Harmony Town]], the friendly neighborhood that Emmet and Rex come across is also unsettling at first. It pretty much resembles a perfectionist society, with the townspeople (which also include the missing Justice League aside from Batman) forcibly getting others to listen to "Catchy Song". It's meant to evoke Stepford wives.
--->'''Wonder Woman:''' We all listened to the music, Emmet. It really changed our attitudes!\
'''Minidoll!Wonder Woman:''' You ''have'' to listen to the music!\
'''Duplo!Wonder Woman:''' Listen to the music, and ''let your mind go''...\
[...]\
'''Emmet:''' ''[as everyone starts singing "Catchy Song"]'' I wanna find my friends! I don't wanna listen to the song!
* Speaking of which, "Catchy Song" can also be unsettling at first glance. It's literally created to get stuck in one's head and cause them to get brainwashed. Becomes NightmareRetardant since it's not intentionally supposed to be brainwashing, but still...
* [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt Armamageddon.]] In the real world, it's portrayed as Finn and Bianca forced to put their LEGO sets into storage. In the LEGO world, it's portrayed as worlds falling apart and into the Bin of Storajj for all eternity in full-blown SceneryGorn. No one is safe from banishment and shows just how much of an effect the real world has on the LEGO world. And the worst part is who caused it--[[NiceJobBreakingItHero Emmet himself, by destroying the wedding while thinking that doing so was heroic]].
** The Bin of Storajj is as miserable a fate as it's built up to be. It's a dark storage bin that the LEGO people are unable to move their bodies in and it's implied that they'll eventually die if they stay in there for too long. If Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi's resurrection didn't allow them to escape, they would've stayed in there forever.
* Rex, after his true motives are revealed, is actually rather terrifying as a villain. He is a ManipulativeBastard whose only desire is to ''destroy the universe'' out of petty spite, hurting even those who didn't do anything to him in the process. And the kicker? He ''[[TheBadGuyWins nearly succeeds]]'' in achieving this goal. The worst part is that he's actually a future version of the sweet and innocent Emmet. [[GoMadFromTheIsolation Being isolated for a long time in a place to be forgotten didn't do his mental health any good]]...
** The way he tries to emotionally break Emmet while they are under the dryer by attacking him and making sure that no one comes to rescue him. It almost gets worse when you remember that Rex and Emmet are the same person...
-->'''Rex''': I tried to break your spirit, but now I see I am gonna have to break ''you''.
** There's even a really brutal shot where Rex hits Emmet so hard in his back, his legs come loose, giving the impression he broke his spine.
* When Rex throws Emmet under the dryer, Emmet lays there despondent for a moment before a spider crawls over him. It comes out of nowhere. Not a nice surprise for any arachnophobes in the audience.
