* In ''WesternAnimation/TheAngryBirdsMovie2'', Red has this when [[spoiler: Zeta smugly reminds him that he told the birds to ''not'' evacuate Bird Island when she starts attacking it. Later, Zeta herself said this almost word-for-word when she believes that Debbie, her daughter, has died under a metal sheet.]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/BatmanUnderTheRedHood'', this is Ra's al Ghul's reaction when he realizes that ComicBook/TheJoker killed Jason Todd - he just wanted the Joker to ''distract'' Batman, not take a young man's life.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheBookOfLife'', Xibalba doesn't exactly say it, but the moment La Muerte angrily reminds him of the last wager he cheated on, he goes quiet, and looks at her with utter regret in his eyes and body movement.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Brave}}'':
** Queen Elinor has a minor one when in an argument with her daughter Merida, she tossed Merida's treasured bow (a gift from her father) into the fireplace, causing Merida to run away sobbing. After Merida leaves, the bowstring makes a loud snap in the fireplace, causing Elinor to realize what she has destroyed - she even tearfully whispers "What have I done?!" She manages to fish it out, but it's too late. It's ruined, and so is her relationship with her daughter.
** Later in the movie, Elinor gets this again when [[spoiler:she reverts into the mind of a wild bear, and accidentally hurt her daughter and also her husband.]]
** Merida has this herself from the point where [[spoiler:she accidentally transforms Elinor into a bear]] until the end of the film. But it is only evident in the last few minutes, [[spoiler:where it appears that Elinor has reverted to the wild bear state, and will never come back]].
* ''WesternAnimation/BrotherBear'': Kenai has this feeling when he realizes that the bear he killed [[spoiler:was Koda's mother. When he tells Koda about what happened, [[BreakTheCutie Koda]] [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome doesn't take it well]].]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/CareBearsMovieIIANewGeneration'', [[BigBad Dark Heart]] outright says, "Oh no... What have I done?" when he accidentally zaps Christy, who he began legitimately caring about.
* In ''WesternAnimation/Cars1'', Doc Hudson after [[spoiler: calling the press to take Lightning away to compete for the Piston Cup; Sally [[CallingTheOldManOut calls him out on his selfishness]] and everyone turns their backs on Doc as he is left alone at the broken traffic light.]]
-->'''Sally''': You called them?\
'''Doc''': It's best for everyone, Sally.\
'''Sally''': Best for everyone... or best for ''[[ArmorPiercingQuestion you?]]'' [''drives off'']
* Abuela Alma in ''WesternAnimation/{{Encanto}}'' goes through one when Mirabel [[RageBreakingPoint finally snaps]] and [[CallingTheOldManOut tells Alma that the miracle dying is all ''her'' fault because she doesn't see any of the family as more than tools with their gifts to maintain perfection and support the miracle, unaware of the emotional stress she was putting on all of them because of her own past trauma]]. Alma barely has a chance to realize that [[TomatoInTheMirror Mirabel is right]] and ItsAllMyFault before the Casita collapses and Mirabel vanishes for hours until Alma finds her at the river where Abuelo Pedro died and apologizes.
* Gill from ''WesternAnimation/FindingNemo'' goes through one for nearly getting Nemo killed in one of his escape plans. He even apologizes for it face-to-face with the kid.
-->'''Nemo''': I'm sorry I couldn't stop the--\
'''Gill''': No, ''I'm'' the one who should be sorry. I was so ready to get out, so ready to taste that ocean, I was willing to put you in harm's way to get there. ''Nothing'' should be worth that. I'm sorry I couldn't get you back to your father, kid.
** In ''WesternAnimation/FindingDory'', Dory unwittingly ignores Marlin's pleas to keep her voice down around a dark area, and she, Marlin, and Nemo get chased by a giant squid that nearly eats Nemo. When Dory sees how shaken up Nemo was, she's horrified at what had happened, forgets what happened, and remembers when she sees Marlin comforting his son, murmuring apologies when Marlin gets angry at her and tells her that forgetting is "what you do best", which hurts Dory and she swims off, leading her to be taken by the institute workers. Nemo repeats the hurtful words to his father in a snarky way to make his dad acknowledge that he messed up, which Marlin does.
* At the climax of Disney's ''WesternAnimation/TheFoxAndTheHound'', after Tod saves Copper from [[BearsAreBadNews a huge grizzly bear]], Copper is amazed the fox he was hunting just saved his life and now genuinely regrets all the horrors he put him through. [[spoiler:Then he steps in between Amos' gun & Tod, causing Amos to react the same way and lower his gun.]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Frozen|2013}}'', Elsa says this almost word-for-word when [[spoiler: she is locked in a dungeon and looks out the window to see the endless winter she has (inadvertently) caused.]]
** Elsa has a twofer earlier in the film, when Anna first mentions the endless winter to her (having assumed that Elsa already already knew about it). This trope, combined with the realisation that her powers aren't as under-control as she thought, causes her to grow more and more panicky and upset until [[spoiler:she suffers another bout of PowerIncontinence and freezes Anna's heart]]... which causes her to go through the trope ''again''.
* In ''Film/GForce'' [[spoiler: Speckles]] says this almost word-for-word after realizing that [[spoiler: he nearly destroyed the ones who truly care about him]].
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Hercules}}'', Megara gets hit by this hard after [[spoiler:it's revealed to Hercules that [[EtTuBrute she was working for Hades]] right after he gives up his strength for her, leaving him in a HeroicBSOD.]]
** Earlier, Herc has this reaction [[spoiler:after he hits Phil in a blind rage.]] He's very shocked at himself for lashing out and tries to apologize before he's turned away by his mentor.
* In ''WesternAnimation/Home2015'', [[spoiler:Oh, when he realizes how wrong his race was to invade the Earth, and then later that Gorg was only after the Boov because they stole his species' entire next generation]].
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Hoodwinked}}'' the Wolf utters this phrase after [[KlatchianCoffee giving coffee to]] his hyperactive squirrel partner so that he can run quickly and tell the police that [[spoiler: the rabbit is the villain]].
* In ''WesternAnimation/HotelTransylvania'', Dracula gets two: first when he realizes that Johnny only found the hotel because of the decoy village that Drac had built catching fire, then another much later when [[spoiler:he realizes that Mavis genuinely loved Johnny and he was wrong to keep them apart.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/HowToTrainYourDragon2010'': While he doesn't say this (it's more the look on his face that communicates it), Stoick gets one of these ''just'' after he [[IHaveNoSon disowns]] Hiccup for fraternizing with a dragon, [[spoiler:and when he realizes that Hiccup was telling the truth about the Red Death and he's just doomed everyone with him.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/IceAgeContinentalDrift'':
** Peaches spends most of the movie trying to hang out with the other mammoths. When she successfully does, they ask her if Louis, her best friend who's a molehog, is ''really'' her friend. She responds with, "We hang out, but no, we're not really friends." However, she finds out that Louis has been listening on everything when she hears him say, "We're not friends?" He leaves her, devastated at the news, and Peaches immediately regrets her choices, though the mammoths continue bullying him behind his back.
** Peaches also has this once Manny gets separated from her after an argument where she tells him, "[[YouAreNotMyFather I wish you weren't my father!]]"
* In ''WesternAnimation/Incredibles2'', both Bob and Dicker show genuine regret for having Tony's memory of Violet mind-wiped.
* During the climax of ''WesternAnimation/InsideOut'', Anger gets a particularly painful one after realizing that [[spoiler: the idea he's given Riley to run away back to Minnesota has triggered an all-consuming depression that he, Disgust, and Fear are powerless to stop]].
-->'''Fear:''' Guys, [[spoiler:we can't make Riley feel ''anything'']].\
'''Anger:''' ''[[[OhCrap beat]]]'' What have we done?
* In ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueDoom'' this is the reaction of Batman when he realizes ComicBook/VandalSavage stole and is implementing his [[CrazyPrepared contingency plans]] to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhLfvRogiTk defeat the other Leaguers.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda1'': Shifu has this expression after Po tells him why he stayed and asked him if he really thinks Po will be able to actually beat Tai Lung.
* At the end of ''WesternAnimation/TheLegoMovie'', [[spoiler:Finn's father "The Man Upstairs", after scolding his son for messing with his Lego figurines takes a look at what he built and realizes that Finn is actually a [[MrImagination deeply imaginative child]]. He then finds Lord Business' figurine and takes a look at all of the [[ControlFreak "Keep Out" and "Hands Off" signs]], realizing that he has become the villain of Finn's story. With that, he asks Finn how would Emmett convince Lord Business to change his ways, leading to the villain's own realization and the father and son repairing their relationship]].
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheLEGOMovie2TheSecondPart'', after Emmet [[spoiler:smashes the wedding altar believing it would stop Armamageddon]], he regrets it when he finds out [[spoiler:Rex had tricked him into kickstarting Armamageddon]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{The Little Mermaid|1989}}'':
** King Triton almost says this when he believes his argument with Ariel and destroying her human artifacts led to her running away. The look on his face immediately after destroying her artifacts when she's reduced to tears can count as well.
** Sebastian too after he "betrayed" Ariel after accidentally blurting out her love for a human to the king, which lead to the aforementioned incident. He even tries to ask for forgiveness before she tells him to go away.
** Even the notorious sea witch Ursula had this moment after learning in shock that she killed her pet eels Flotsam and Jetsam with the trident by accident (thanks to Ariel yanking her hair), even mourning for their deaths before turning her rage towards Ariel for it.
* ''WesternAnimation/Madagascar1'':
** Kind of a "My God, What Did I Almost Do?" moment with Alex [[spoiler:after he almost kills Marty, who is luckily saved by Maurice dropping a coconut on Alex's head, which then leads up to Alex saying, "Oh no. What have I done?" and then [[HeelRealization realizing he's too dangerous to be around his friends, including Marty]] and deciding to leave for their own safety.]]
** Marty says this almost word for word when he realizes that his bringing his friends into the wild [[spoiler: caused Alex to almost revert to his predatory instincts and leave them.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Megamind}}'' thinks this after seeing [[spoiler:Hal/Titan]] using his powers for his own purpose. Instead of creating a new hero for Metro City, he made a villain far worse than him.
* In ''WesternAnimation/MickeysTwiceUponAChristmas'', Mickey has this reaction when he realizes that him punishing Pluto for messing up his decorations led to him running away.
-->'''Mickey:''' Oh Pluto, if only I hadn't yelled at you. I swear I'll never raise my voice again.
* In ''WesternAnimation/MonstersInc1'', although he doesn't say the actual words Sulley's reaction to accidentally terrifying Boo during his scaring demonstration, and by extension the other human children he has similarly terrified as the monster world's 'top scarer', is basically this.
-->'''Sulley:''' Did you see the way she... ''looked'' at me?
* ''WesternAnimation/MrPeabodyAndSherman'': Penny has a moment of this when she realizes that her bullying of Sherman is responsible for him and Mr. Peabody almost being separated by Ms. Grunion.
* [[spoiler: Twilight]] has a [[TearJerker massive]] moment of this in ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTheMovie2017'' when the pressure and stress of their situation causes her to [[RageBreakingPoint lose her temper]] and shout [[spoiler:[[WhamLine "Well maybe I would have been better off without FRIENDS LIKE YOU!"]]]] No one, least of all herself, can believe she actually said that.[[note]][[ItsAllMyFault She instantly realizes]] [[NiceJobBreakingItHero how badly she screwed up]], but [[PlotMandatedFriendshipFailure the damage is temporarily done.]][[/note]]
** The Mane Five get this as well after [[spoiler:abandoning Twilight and Spike with the former [[NiceJobBreakingItHero getting captured by Tempest]]]], [[WasItReallyWorthIt wondering to themselves if they should've talked to Twilight instead of just leaving her]].
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas'', after being blown out of the sky for impersonating SantaClaus, Jack laments "What have I done?" at the start of the song "Poor Jack."
** Interestingly, the second half of the song subverts this. Jack starts off miserable, then turns bitter ("Why does nothing ever turn out like it should?"), then suddenly triumphant ("Well, what the heck?!/I went and did my best/And by God, I really tasted something swell!") before rushing off to fix his mistakes at the end.
* In ''WesternAnimation/ParaNorman'' [[spoiler: Judge Hopkins and the other zombies have this after they first died. As zombies they realize they were just foolish and scared of an innocent little girl who could talk to the dead, so they spend the movie trying to make up for it. Even at the end of the movie, their spirits still look regretful for [[MoralEventHorizon what they did.]]]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Pocahontas}}'', Thomas has this moment during the VillainSong "Savages" after he shot Kocoum to save John Smith's life. Not only does John Smith [[TakingTheHeat take the blame for the murder]], as well as sentenced to death at sunrise, but it caused war on both the Powhatan Tribe and the Settlers. His look on his face pretty much says it all.
* In ''WesternAnimation/ThePrinceOfEgypt'', Moses accidentally pushes a slave overseer off a scaffolding to his death whilst saving an old Hebrew from being brutally whipped. He immediately has that reaction before deciding to exile himself out of guilt.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Ratatouille}}'': After Rémy and Linguini come to blows midway through the movie and he gets temporarily sidelined, Rémy brings his clan to the restaurant's kitchen to raid the food stores as payback. Halfway through, Linguini, whose temper has cooled down by this point, comes in to try and apologize for his earlier outrage, which quickly causes Rémy to deeply regret letting his anger get the better of him, doubly so when Linguini sees the other rats and breaks off their partnership for good.
* Cellach, in ''WesternAnimation/TheSecretOfKells''. [[spoiler: As the sacking of Kells begins, it begins to get through to the Abbot that, despite all his preparation, things aren't going to work out. And what follows is a massive slaughter that basically makes the rest of his life one really prolonged version of this trope.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/Shrek2'': Fiona's father, King Harold has this after Fiona cut her parents out of her life when she's fed up with their prejudice towards her and Shrek. He realizes how selfish he'd been to be so focused on getting rid of Shrek (hell, he thinks Shrek is dead at this point because he put a hit on him, not knowing the hit failed) and didn't take Fiona's feelings into consideration. He has this again when Fiona casts him a disgusted glance after Shrek changes (though in fact it is Charming pretending to be Shrek) and when Harold is forced by the Fairy Godmother to slip Fiona a love potion after he realizes Fiona has no interest in being with anyone but Shrek. He has a change of heart last minute, deciding not to give Fiona the love potion after he realizes how wrong it was to impede upon her free will.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Sintel}}'': The main character has spent years searching for her missing friend, a baby dragon, and killing the adult dragon that kidnapped it. [[spoiler:Sadly, [[TimeSkip more years had passed than she realized]], and she ends up killing her now adult dragon friend by mistake]].
* In ''WesternAnimation/SouthParkBiggerLongerAndUncut'', Creator/ConanOBrien turns in Terrence and Phillip to [[MoralGuardians Mothers Against Canada]]. When Terrence and Phillip remind Conan that he laughed at their movie and that he's "A very bad man" for betraying them, Conan shouts "What have I done?" and tosses himself out a window.
** Shiela has one herself when she [[spoiler: [[MoralEventHorizon guns down Terrence and Phillip,]] [[ApocalypseHow thus causing Satan and Saddam to rise.]] This in turn causes her HeelFaceTurn at the end.]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Tarzan}}'', the titular character has one after he puts Kerchak in a headlock while restraining him from attacking the humans. He takes a moment to notice all the gorillas looking on in shock and tries to apologise to Kerchak before the silverback coldly berates him for betraying his family and Tarzan flees in shame over his actions. Later after Clayton betrays Tarzan, Jane and her father by locking them up in the ship's cargo hold to prevent them from stopping his plans to capture the gorillas, Tarzan has another one as he goes into a HeroicBSOD after realising what he has done when he leads Clayton to the gorillas' nesting grounds, thus allowing him to know where the gorillas are and set his evil plan in motion.
-->'''Tarzan''': [[ItsAllMyFault I did this.]] I betrayed my family. Kerchak was right.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheTiggerMovie'', Roo has this when he sees how the gang's act of pretending to be Tigger's family broke his heart.
-->'''Roo:''' ''*[[TearsOfRemorse sobbing]]*'' ItsAllMyFault! He never would've left if it wasn't cause of me. [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone I didn't mean to make him feel bad.]] I just... I just wanted him to be my big brother...
* ''WesternAnimation/{{TMNT}}'' has one of these with Raphael in his battle against Leonardo, which is luckily averted just in time. [[spoiler:Raph was dangerously close to killing Leo after a fiery battle, under the impression that Leo left him to be a show-off; the realization causes him to run away in fear.]]
* ''Franchise/ToyStory'':
** In [[WesternAnimation/ToyStory1 the first film]], Slinky paraphrases this when he and the other toys see Woody and Buzz riding toward the moving truck and realize Woody was telling the truth. Downplayed with this PlayedForLaughs line:
--> '''Rex:''' "Great, now I have guilt."
** Heavily implied in ''WesternAnimation/ToyStory4'' when Woody, after failing to rescue Forky from Gabby-Gabby, questions Bo's understanding of loyalty when she refuses to go back in and try again, can only stand in silence as Bo has enough of his seeming selfishness and walks away with the other toys.
* ''WesternAnimation/TurningRed'':
** All over Mei's face when [[spoiler:she impulsively attacks Tyler at his party and he starts pleading for his life, as the other kids recoil in fear and she realizes that she could have seriously hurt him due to the size and strength of her panda form.]] She goes into a full HeroicBSOD afterward, not even reacting when [[spoiler:Ming accuses her friends of corrupting Mei]].
** [[spoiler:Ming has been in a perpetual state of this her entire life, as she accidentally scarred her mother during a transformation. It was traumatic enough that she reverted to a sobbing teenage girl in the astral bamboo forest plane. Upon seeing this, Mei helps her mother get up, and Ming ages between shots as they walk through the forest towards the rest of their family. She remains downcast no matter her appearance, implying she has never forgiven herself for accidentally attacking Grandma Wu despite the time that has passed since then.]] Later, Ming is deeply remorseful when she realizes [[spoiler:how badly her controlling parenting has hurt her daughter.]]
** Grandma Wu seems to experience this as well. First she sees that [[spoiler:her treatment of Ming is responsible for panda-Ming becoming an uncontrollable, rampaging monster]]. Then Mei shows her that the red panda can be controlled and used very effectively for good, as [[spoiler:Mei fights her mother's titanic panda-form and wins]]. Altogether, the movie's third act is a crushing demonstration of Wu's mistakes in dealing with both her daughter and the red panda. It's easy to interpret [[spoiler:her forgiving Ming and her acceptance of Mei's decision to keep the red panda]] as her own attempt to make amends for her long-ago mistakes with Ming.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Up}}'': After Carl tries to stop a construction worker from touching his mailbox and accidentally bashes the man over the head with his cane hard enough to draw blood, he immediately has this reaction and retreats into his house, realizing that [[CorruptCorporateExecutive the real estate boss]] will use the whole incident as an excuse to confiscate his land.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheWild'': Samson has one after seeing how hard his son, Ryan, took the scolding he received for causing a stampede of gazelles.
* ''WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph'':
** When the characters of Sugar Rush realize who [[spoiler:Vanellope really is, everyone panics, especially the other racers. Of course, they never realized the truth since their code had been manipulated by King Candy/Turbo.]]
** Ralph gets his own, [[RuleOfThree threefold]]: once when [[spoiler: he smashes Vanellope's car on King Candy/Turbo's request]], again when he realizes his game-jumping will cause his game to [[spoiler:become unplugged since now Felix has gone after him and hasn't returned]], and finally when he realizes that it is his fault that [[spoiler:the Cy-Bugs from ''Hero's Duty'' have invaded ''Sugar Rush'']].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}}'':
** After Judy says at a press conference that [[spoiler:predators going savage is in their nature, submerged predator/prey tensions rise to the surface causing civil unrest, and Nick is left feeling hurt and betrayed leading to their PlotMandatedFriendshipFailure]]. Seeing all this causes Judy to regret her ignorant remarks.
** When Chief Bogo demands that Judy surrender her badge, Nick is seen looking surprised and guilty as he sees the consequences of his wasting Judy's time. This leads him to give Chief Bogo a WhatTheHellHero speech where he reminds him that they still have ten hours left and still have a case to solve.
