Formerly the frontman to PopPunk band Music/NerfHerder, Parry Gripp (born September 22, 1967) is a songwriter and musician responsible for some of the most notorious earworms on the internet. He's a sometime jingle writer and a sometime writer of offbeat songs that bear the hallmarks of jingles: Short, simple lyrics, catchy hooks. They cover a wide variety of silly topics, from iPhones to waffles, but most are about animals, especially hamsters.

!!Parry Gripp's songs contains examples of:
* AIIsACrapshoot: Awesome Bot 3000, the EvilCounterpart of the Taco Bot 3000, attempts to bury the town under a Tortilla Avalanche in the titular song, with him having a [[EvilSoundsDeep deep voice]] to really set it:
%%* BigfootSasquatchAndYeti: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6h2DURnIJo Sasquatch]]", a song with surprisingly horrifying lyrics.
%%* BrokenRecord: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMWi7CLoZ2Q Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom...]]
%%* BunniesForCuteness: Many of his songs feature bunnies, most notably "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD9xQaDAuQw Baby Bunny]]".
* CallBack: If you watch the video [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17o1OlroNSE "Space Unicorn"]], near the end you'll notice references to Parry's previous videos, like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_sfnQDr1-o a baby monkey going backwards on a pig]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pv8D-ydR1s a harp seal and a photographer wearing a yellow jacket]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4quM5UZg1M a penguin with a backpack]].
* DarkerAndEdgier: The original [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUI9M9SyX7s "I Ain't Got No iPhone"]] is about someone who has ''suicidal'' thoughts because of their lack of an iPhone. Think about it. The 2015 revision rewrote the song to be about someone simply moping.
** There's also the songs he did for the webseries [[WebAnimation/HelluvaBoss Helluva Boss]]; the jingle for [[MurderInc I.M.P (Immediate Murder Professionals)]] and the song "Oh, [[CuteButPsycho Millie]]", which is a love song about one of the employees sung by her husband, Moxxie.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: "Lazy Harp Seal Has No Job" may be a cute song, but if you listen to the lyrics closely, it sounds like a TakeThat at affluent, entitled people who look down on less ambitious people who prioritise enjoying their lives over making money.
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: Many of his songs, based on cute animal videos, describe exactly what the animal is doing in the video, from [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UDDYmHfAA4 Dog with a Box on his Head]] to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKoB8TPyHBo Hamster on a Piano (Eating Popcorn)]].
* ExpositoryThemeTune: He's made up several for nonexistent shows, like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uaGeZh72Qk Super Agent Rodent School]] (in the description, he chides Cartoon Network for their continued refusal to take his offer).
* FriendlyPirate: "Pirate Snail On Broccoli Isle" is about a snail who dresses as a pirate and sails the seas with his crew in search of treasure. He, however, doesn't bury his treasure because "That's no fun", and instead shares it with everyone.
* FunnyOctopus: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lp5a-r3MJU Little Octopus Climbing Over Rock]] features a tiny, cute octopus [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin crawling on a rock]] to get to the sea.
* GhostlyAnimals:
** "Ghost Hamster" is about a ghostly hamster with a ghostly cage, wailing about having a neglectful owner in life.
** "Ghost Slug" is about...[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin a creepy ghost slug]] who just slithers around in the night being spooky.
%%* HappyBirthdayToYou: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5Gx2AB0h1A Discount Birthday Song Medley]], which, in lieu of the traditional song, includes three original birthday songs (but one of them is loosely based on "Old Macdonald Had a Farm").
* InsistentTerminology: It's not a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRWAFQqQY9Y turtle]], it's a tortoise!
* LyricalDissonance: Gripp's goofy bubblegum-pop tunes can mask some surprisingly dark lyrics:
** ''The Whole World's Laughing at Me''. It has a rather bright, chipper melody, but [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin its name makes its true topic obvious.]]
** In "I'm A Crazy Weirdo and I'm Calling You," the narrator is a seemingly-depressed individual who spends his meaningless existence prank calling random people.
* MadLibsCatchPhrase: Quite a few songs, have a phrase similar to "As soon as I saw you Xing that Y, I knew you were no ordinary Z...".
* MegaphoneGag: The song aptly titled "Megaphone" centers around people being locked out of a film festival due to the lack of venue space, regardless of who they are or if they have a ticket. The announcer spends the song yelling at the crowd with the megaphone, with lines such as:
--> ''I've got a megaphone, put it up your butt''
--> ''Back to your trailer, you dumbass hick''
--> ''No platinum pass, you can kiss my ass''
* MundaneMadeAwesome: He loves to write songs about the littlest things...but it doesn't make the songs any less fun.
* OdeToFood:
** "This is the Best Burrito I've Ever Eaten" and "Yum Yum Breakfast Burrito" are both about how awesome burritos are.
** "I Love Bread" is about how the singer, well, loves bread.
** "Spiral Cut Hot Dogs" is about how the singer loves spiral cut hot dogs and how to make them.
** "I Like Vegetables" is a rap about how great vegetables are.
** "Pound Cake" is about how the cake will "pound you in the face with flavour".
** "All the Nachos You Can Eat" praises a whole lot of nachos.
** "Chicken Nugget Dreamland" is about a dreamland where there's "infinite flavours of infinite sauce" and one can get a "million-piece box".
** "Do You Like Waffles?" is about how the singer loves waffles, pancakes, and French toast.
%%* PersonalityChip: in Robot Dog is Coming Home, "They made him too smart/and gave him a heart..."
* PrankCall: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIeF23Ovlcg "I'm A Crazy Weirdo And I'm Calling You"]]. [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin The title pretty much sums it up.]]
%%* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: A recurring theme in his songs.
%%* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Invoked by the song [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thE-d0B0loA "You're the Jerk of the Week".]]
%%* RobotDog: "Robot Dog is Coming Home"
* SluggishSeal: "Lazy Harp Seal Has No Job" is about an adorable baby harp seal who just sits around being cute, getting all the attention, frustrating the singer who is ignored by women despite his expensive camera and yellow jacket.
* StylisticSuck: The "amazing artwork and animation by Parry Gripp", of the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xpgkg1oh7M music video for "Hug a Turtle"]]. It's a ClipArtAnimation of a poorly drawn and colored turtle.
* SubbingForSanta: In "[[https://youtu.be/m3SfJZ5NKhg Reggie the Christmas Hamster]]", the song is about Reggie delivering all the presents because Santa broke his sleigh.
* SweetSeal: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pv8D-ydR1s Lazy Harp Seal Has No Job]]" is about a harp seal who is extremely popular with the ladies despite not doing anything but lying around and being cute, which makes a photographer with an expensive camera and jacket jealous of him.
