1In the 21st century, with the comics industry increasingly dominated by major media conglomerates, a number of smaller comic-book creators have turned to crowdfunding in order to get their comics published, directly appealing to consumers for funding.

3Oftentimes, it's webcomics that use crowdfunding which often have WebcomicPrintCollection runs, collected works, reissues and also limited edition or special exclusive variants.
