6	* In the prologue, Silver Frost at first looks cruel when she takes food from a kit. Then it turns out that she's trying to give the food to another elder named Misty Water. She really is a good friend.
7	* From the prologue, Half Moon's determination to meet up with Jay's Wing again. Even though she'll have to wait fifty years, she will never give up on him.
8	* Silver Frost shipping Gray Wing with Turtle Tail is adorable.
9	* Jagged Peak and Fluttering Bird fulfill the role of cute kits. Even with the hard times, these two still manage to be light-hearted.
10	* At the end, Thunder finds a ParentalSubstitute in Gray Wing.
11	* All throughout the time in the mountains, Dewy Leaf is snippish with Moon Shadow, and appears to dislike him. Then, when Gray Wing is about to leave, she asks him to tell Moon Shadow that she hopes he's happy. It's really nice seeing that she did care about Moon Shadow.
12	* Throughout their journey to find the Followers of the Sun Trail, Gray Wing has insisted on Jagged Peak eating the food that he catches himself. However, when Jagged Peak brings back a shrew, he only eats part of it, and pushes the rest over to Gray Wing. When Gray Wing protests, Jagged Peak tells him, "We share. It's the proper way." It's a small moment, but is touching nonetheless.
13	* Fox telling Petal that she's better than she thinks she is.
14	* Petal finally having her faith in other cats restored when she meets Clear Sky.

19	* After Clear Sky kicks Frost out of the community, Thunder stands up to him and helps the latter while in exile.

23	* After the harsh titular battle that takes place at the Four Trees, the spirits of cats that had died in the battle show up. Not only that, but the cats that died before arrive. Including Turtle Tail, Shaded Moss, Storm, Jackdaw's Cry, Falling Feather, and much more.
24	* Gray Wing tries his best to comfort Wind Runner after Emberkit dies. She snaps at him and wishes grief on him...only to apologize for it chapters later. Gray Wing forgives her.
25	* Clear Sky stands, poised to kill Gray Wing. His brother snaps at him to go ahead, kill him and live with the memory, then tell the stars he won--which is pretty awesome, but the heartwarming comes in when Clear Sky completely slumps and calls off the battle. Even at his most paranoid, aggressive, arrogant, and {{Jerkass}}, [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes he's not able to kill his brother]]--and even better, that moment marks his HeelRealization and [[LoveRedeems the start of his redemption]].

29	* Gray Wing meeting Slate. Looks like he may find some happiness after all.

31	* The whole book seems to be a bone thrown to Jagged Peak after all the hell he went through. He gets a mate and becomes a father!
32	* After heated words, Gray Wing and Jagged Peak get into a fight. ''Clear Sky'' of all people steps in and breaks the fight up, showing that he's come a long way from his time as a villain.

36	* Clear Sky saves Jagged Peak's kits from a crow, then helps them down the tree safely.

40	* Gray Wing's death. Is it tear-jerking? For sure. But it's also beautiful, to see him pass peacefully in his nest, surrounded by his loved ones, having reconciled his family and named the Clans, while [[CallBack calling back]] to ''The Sun Trail''. [[AGoodWayToDie He wouldn't have wanted to go any other way]].
41	-->"I have traveled so far and loved so much, and yet I am still following the Sun Trail, heading for my new hunting grounds."
42	* This moment after Gray Wing saves Star Flower and she safely kits:
43	-->He padded closer and rubbed his muzzle against Gray Wing's. His fur was warm against his cheek, his scent so familiar that, for a moment, Gray Wing's thoughts flashed back to his kit-hood, when they'd snuggled side by side at Quiet Rain's belly.\
44	He suddenly realized that Clear Sky was purring. "Congratulations," he breathed.\
45	"Thank you, brother," Clear Sky murmured, his mew cracking. "I will never forget this."
46	** Even better? While they did make up after ''The First Battle'', this is the first time since ''The Sun Trail'' that they've actually done the cat equivalent of a hug.
47	* Just about any scene with Clear Sky, Star Flower, and their new kits. Especially right after the kits are born--both parents are completely enamored, and for the first moon or so of their lives, Clear Sky just doesn't leave the den.
48	** While he did vow to be a better mate and father this time around, and he means it, that doesn't mean he's forgotten his older son. When Thunder reveals how bitter and hurt he feels, seeing his AbusiveParent be a DotingParent to his half-siblings, Clear Sky acknowledges that he was completely terrible to Thunder, apologizes for it, and reassures him that Thunder ''was'' the son he wanted--he was just too stupid to recognize how special he was.
