* In the '60s revival series, "The Search" has Friday and Gannon looking for two little girls of a divorced couple who disappeared. They go to the father who, as it turns out, is a recovering alcoholic and working hard so he can be fit to return to their lives. At the end [[spoiler: they find the girls, safe and asleep. A dog they befriended 'protects' them until his owner arrives. The ending says the father regained visitation rights.]]
* In "The Shooting Board", Joe finds himself up against the titular board. Bill shows he's a true friend to Joe when he assures him that even if the board doesn't believe his story, Bill believes him. He also comes into the Chief's Room when he calls Friday in to talk to him as a show of moral support.
* In the Night School ep Bill once again shows he's a true friend to Joe by constantly asking Joe if he's all right after he was voted out of class, saying he's worried about Joe, and suggesting Joe talk to the Chief about the Professor who encouraged the voting, and the class itself, dropping hints that he'll gladly do it himself if Joe should want him to.
* In the ep The Weekend, Bill specifically asks Joe to come spend the weekend with him. Even though it plays out more like a sitcom with an actual case happening in the last 6 minutes, the bantering and conversations between Bill and Joe shows that even outside of work they really are best friends.
* In the ep "The Trial Board" Friday is called upon to defend a fellow officer in front of the board. He specifically asks Bill to help him out even though Bill wasn't assigned to the defense. Bill even sits in on the hearing to support Joe and helps him decode a booker's coded notebook. They really do work as a team.
* "The Big Little Jesus" , where the small boy takes the child Jesus statue for the first ride in his new wagon.
** Also, the priest understands what he's there for. When Friday asks if the church will even welcome thieves the Padre, probably thinking of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penitent_thief Saint Dismas]], says, "Especially thieves."
* Another episode in the 60s series, Season 3, Episode 2, a teenager arrested for heroin was about to be disowned by his father. Instead of staying silent, Friday chastised the father for this reaction by pointing out that it's his job to guide his son away from bad behavior.
--> '''Friday:''' You're his father, that's a position you can't resign from. You can walk away from it, but it'll always be an unfinished job with your name on it. Now, do you want your son to spend the night in juvenile hall or do you want to take him home with you."
* In another episode in the 60s series, Season 3, Episode 15, a priest is shadowing Friday for the day to write an article in a magazine. At one point an old woman comes to the station to request a permit for outdoor Christmas lights, assuming that the police gives them out. Friday is about to dissuade her, but the Priest steps in and promises to give her the Christmas lights himself.
** Later in that episode, a mentally unwell man enters the office and threatens to commit suicide. How does Friday talk him down? By pointing out that the bullet would ricochet off the marble walls and harm someone else in the building.
* In the final episode of the Sixties series, we get what looks like the OnceAnEpisode banter between Friday and Gannon as Gannon claims to have started a diet--then we learn that Gannon gave his dinner money to the homeless man whose total worldly wealth of seventy-six cents was stolen.
* In "The Bank Examiner Swindle", one of the elderly victims was a former minor movie star. After Friday and Gannon question her, she sadly admits that with her savings gone she's going to have to try and get back into movies. Before they leave, Gannon turns back and gently asks her to sign an autograph for him. Smiling, she does and he thanks her.
-->'''Friday:''' I didn't know you collected autographs.
-->'''Gannon:''' I don't.
* One episode of the Sixties series focuses on a police retreat to answer racial matters. We meet two [[NobleBigotWithABadge Noble Bigots with Badges]], one white and the other black. But by the end, they are both well on their way to overcoming their respective racial prejudices, and we see the seeds of a friendship between them.
* From TheMovie: [[FirstNameBasis "Read him his rights...Pep".]] It's the first time Friday calls Streebeck by his first name, who told him earlier that "Friendships start with first names... Joe."
** And before that, when DaChief gives Friday his badge back, admitting that he didn't have it in him to make Friday's suspension permanent.
--->'''Gannon:''' "Waitaminute, Streebek; I can't let you take a civilian with you on a hot pursuit."
--->'''Friday:''' "But Captain, ''please!''"
--->'''Gannon:''' "Sorry, Joe... You're gonna need this!" ''*presents Friday's badge*'' "I didn't have the heart to turn it in."
