16	** In the same issue, Annabelle tricking one of a gang attacking the hotel, all of whom are dressed up as Santa, into MuggingTheMonster and waits outside, whistling, while from within crashes and screams can be heard.
17	** Connected to the above, Kaine's being slowly sobered up by Meland and, just as the Santa barges in with Annabelle as his hostage, is being asked if he's ready to go stop the robbers. There's a BeatPanel as Kaine just stares, astonished and Meland asks, "Sober yet?" then [[ReactionShot his expression shifts to pure rage and the coffee mug shatters in his hand]]. To which Meland responds, "Good." Cue NoHoldsBarredBeatdown.
18	* In Issue 16, Kaine entering the Stadium during the Rodeo as the Scarlet Spider while riding a horse, swinging his web around like a lasso. Meland actually facepalms at the sight.

[[spoiler: Annabelle is pissed at Kaine because Zoe introduced herself as Kaine's "lover". At the same time, Aracely was having a vision describing how either she or the world will die. At the same time, Wally is attempting to arrest Kaine for his previous crimes, driven by anger over Meland's near-death. And Kaine was in the middle of a post-coital conversation with Shathra, the transdimensional parasitic wasp-woman, who was in the form of Annabelle. ''And to top it all off'', Zoe, whom Kaine had a one-night stand with, is madly in love with Kaine but wants to kill him because Kaine's defeat of the energy beam Mammon left her father in a coma. This leads to a gloriously over-the-top two page spread where Aracely cheerfully greets Annabelle, who is angrily asking for an explanation from Kaine for Zoe, Kaine and Wally are surprised at Annabelle's appearance when she was already in the room (prompting comment from Annabelle, too), the other Annabelle reveals herself as Shathra, and Zoe ''attempts to kill everyone with an RPG''.]]
28	** Kaine tries to give up being a superhero [[spoiler: after Dr. Meland's injuries at the hands of the Kraven family]], and recreates the legendary scene where Peter tries to give up Spider-Man by throwing the suit in a burning trash can in a alley, only to remember his current suit is more durable then Spider-Man's old one.
