7* ''Film/TheNeverendingStoryIITheNextChapter'' (1990): A sequel to the 1984 movie, loosely based on the second half of the novel. All characters who return from the first movie are played by different actors, with the exception of Mr. Coreander. Compared to the first, it had negative reception and became a BoxOfficeBomb.[[invoked]]
8* ''Film/TheNeverEndingStoryIIIEscapeFromFantasia'' (1994): Another sequel, also known as ''Return to Fantasia''. As the first two movies had already covered the story of the novel between them, this consists of an entirely original plot unrelated to Michael Ende's work. It recast the characters again, even Coreander this time, and received even worse reviews than Part II.
