!!Notable Biology

Lickitung are nearly four feet tall reptilian Pokemon that are commonly found in grasslands. They are pink in coloration with cream colored rings on their knees, and cream colored markings in their chests. They also have a rather thick tail, and a very long tongue, which serves as their most important body part. [[Trainer's Note: There are also Lickitung which are born with a golden coloration that makes them prized by collectors.]]

Lickitung's tongue is about [[OverlyLongTongue 6'6" feet long]] and often hangs out when the Pokemon has its mouth open. Similarly to [[{{FanonPokedex/Kecleon}} Kecleon]], which occupy a similar niche in Hoenn, it is used to capture prey, and also has saliva containing a paralytic agent, which is used to prevent prey from escaping. They also use their tongues to examine foreign objects or creatures, including humans. Another usage for their tongue are for cleaning themselves since their saliva helps to kill bacteria. Their tails may also share some nerve endings with their tongues, as they quiver once the tongue is fully extended.

Due to Lickitung having rather stout bodies, they cannot move very quickly until they learn Rollout, which allows them to move at speeds of about 30 MPH. Soon afterwards, they evolve into Lickilicky.

Lickilicky are a darker pink than Lickitung, and stand at about 5'7". They have smaller heads, a curled crest on their head, three circular yellow stripes, a somewhat shorter tail, and a white chest marking that is reminiscent of a bib.

Due to their even shorter legs, Lickilicky get around almost entirely by using Rollout. Much like Lickitung, their tongues are used for almost everything. Unlike Lickitung, their tongues contain not only paralytic saliva but an acidic saliva almost on the same level as Snorlax gastric acid, which is used to break down large prey items.

!!Habitat

The Lickitung line is mainly found in the wetter grasslands of Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh, though they are most common within Johto. Unova also has a small population of introduced Lickitung, and Kalos has a population inhabiting its Victory Road within the caves.

!!Diet

Lickitung and Lickilicky will eat almost anything that can fit into their mouths. Their favored prey tends to be small to medium sized Normal and Bug-type Pokemon such as Rattata, Bidoof, Kricketot, Kricketune, and Leaf Cloak Burmy.

!!Hazards

The Lickitung line is mainly docile, but like most Pokemon it would never be a good idea to antagonize them. If an initial Screech or Supersonic doesn't deter a perceived threat, they will attack. If you are confronted by an enraged Lickitung or Lickilicky, your first course of action should be to get at least 20 feet between you and the Pokemon. If you happen to be within tongue reach, they will either slam you hard with it, causing serious injury, or grab you with it so they can either squeeze the life out of you or slam you into any rocks, trees, or ground nearby. (In the case of Lickilicky, they may also try to melt and eat you.) [[Trainer's Note: It is a good idea to carry something sour with you on the outside when traveling in territory inhabited by these Pokemon, as both members of the Lickitung line have a supreme dislike for sour substances. If you're grabbed, the Pokemon will get a taste and immediately let you go.]]

Another tactic used by members of the Lickitung line is to bring their opponent over with their tongue and stomp them repeatedly, breaking many bones in the process. In this case, the only thing you can do is not move and wait for it to be satisfied enough that you've learnt your lesson. [Trainer's Note: Another technique used by the Lickitung line is known as Chip Away, which involves them using their tongue to attack a single weak point. In the case of humans, this tends to be [[GroinAttack below the belt]].]

If you try fighting it off with your Pokemon, be warned that due to a rather unique neurological structure, these Pokemon are impervious to moves such as Attract or Confusion. Also, they can try to roll you flat with Rollout or in the case of older Lickilicky Gyro Ball if you fail to get away from them quickly enough for them to forget about you. Luckily, this scenario is most likely to happen only towards the careless and/or needlessly abusive.

When dealing with a trained Lickitung or Lickilicky, it is a good idea to avoid having it slobber over any electronic devices that you own. Also, never leave these Pokemon alone in the presence of smaller Pokemon or children unless they are significantly trained not to automatically attempt to eat anything smaller than they are. There have been occasional instances of Lickitung and Lickilicky mistaking said things for food and eating them, though there is only one recorded example of the latter.

!!Courting and Childrearing

Mating is done primarily by Lickilicky and older Lickitung on the cusp of evolving. During the mating season, which lasts from late spring into late summer, Lickilicky will wander the grasslands in order to find a suitable mate.

Once they find a mate, the two Lickilicky will have a short courtship before going their separate ways. Once the winter comes, the female Lickilicky will find a cave, lay her eggs, and keep them warm using her body fat. Around the same time that hibernation ends, the eggs hatch, and the baby Lickitung go their separate ways.

!!Social Structure

The Lickitung line live either by themselves or in groups of up to five individuals, though the former is the norm. During the mating season, the groups will go their separate ways and come back together once mating is concluded.
