''Film/EastOfKensington'' by students from Chapman University Dodge College Of Film And Media Arts
* Recommended by: @/ChloeLee12
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: Years after Peter Pan and the Lost Boys have overthrown the pirates, Peter visits London to return Wendy to Neverland and is kidnapped by a mysterious Stranger residing in the decaying remains of the Darling House. Peter is forced to confront a harsh reality that challenges his innocence.
* Comments: A truly tragic take on the aftermath of Wendy's adventure that could have happened if the story had been more than a story and actually occurred in real life.

* Recommended by: greeneyesrock, Dame-Amaryllis
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: Wendy has decided to change the story. The mermaid stabs the prince and saves herself, because maybe, just maybe, Happily Ever After is overrated.
* Comments: Could be a TearJerker for some. An alternate look at what would happen if Hook captured her. Very excellently splendorific.

''[[http://parsnips.livejournal.com/8480.html A Hundred Years Ago]]'' by Buttering Parsnips
* Recommended by: Roach Patrol
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: Wendy learns the trick of tidying up childrens' dreams while they sleep, and finds out things that even Peter no longer remembers -- in this case, exactly who Captain Hook used to be, and how he became who he was.
* Comments: It's achingly sad and beautiful, without ever being angsty or self-indulgent, and I think the style of the fic mimics Barrie's work astonishingly well.

* Synopsis: A short story of how Captain Hook seeks to regain his lost daughter. Here, Peter Pan is a fey creature who steals children.
* Comments: What started off as a relatively normal RPG thread soon morphs into EPIC storytelling. ManlyTears are quick to follow.

* Comments: Haven't actually read this beyond the first couple of pages. Still, the art looks fine and so does the writing.

''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8951597/1/ The Secret Of Neverland]]'' by Breech Loader
* Recommended by: Harley Quinn hyenaholic
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: What is the real meaning of Neverland? The bo'sun Smee is one of the few who knows the secret, which is contemplated upon while aboard the Jolly Roger, listening to a lullaby carried on the wind.
* Comments: A short but bitter-sweet fanfic with deep insight into the meaning and characterizations of the original story, and how Hooks, Smees, Pirates and Lost Boys stay and leave. Set in a modern-day Neverland where Pirates are women as well as men, with Smee as a middle-aged woman. It's a little bit of a TearJerker with its implications of why Smee came to Neverland, and the final line that "Neverland makes even Pirates forget."

''[[https://archiveofourown.org/series/2807701 The So Much Quieter AU]]'' by enjolradrat/akestrelforaknave
* Recommended by: Charlotteelizabeth
* Status: Semi-complete [[note]]Some stories have been finished, however the central plot running through all works in the AU is not yet concluded. One fic, the one shot anthology [[https://archiveofourown.org/works/37684147/chapters/94075288 Extracts]] is on hiatus. [[/note]]
* Synopsis: It's been years since the Darlings and Lost Boys left the Neverland and though they were afraid of adulthood then, nothing could have prepared them for the true horrors of growing up. With the First World War’s impact felt right at the heart of the family, Wendy and The Lost Boys must try to remain strong, though, everyone can’t help but wonder, should they have ever left?
* Comments: Quite the TearJerker, but has some lighter moments. Shows the depressing reality of grieving families in post-WWI Britain. Trigger warnings for mentions of death, depression, PTSD, suicide, and substance abuse. Contains many OCs, most notably the 'Lost Ladies' who marry into the family and their children. Also a subplot involving Wendy marrying one of the Lost Boys (this is canon in Barrie's work, the author tried to justify it and make it a little less weird in SMQ). Peter is not exactly prominent when it comes to appearances, but he's discussed a lot. Takes a few cues from Literature/PeterPanInScarlet in parts, but is overall it's own thing, a tragicomedy about a big dysfunctional family of Lost People who really do love one another.

''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGlTZNZUVU0 Darling, Darling Wendy]]'' by Elise Robertson
* Recommended by: Shadao
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: 15 years after her adventure with Peter Pan, Wendy finds adulthood to be suffocating. Women have no equal rights to men in 1904's London, serving as only gossips of their husband's opinions. Wendy's stories of Neverland are regarded by her husband as childish fantasies that warrants a trip to a psychiatric. Wendy longs for Neverland where she felt free, and is jealous at the thought of her daughter going there instead of her. She'll do anything to return back to the Neverland, even at the expense of her family's wellbeing.
* Comments: Nearly all darker adaptations of Peter Pan often focuses on deconstructing the titular character, but this short film stands out by deconstructing the story's real protagonist: Wendy Darling. While the original story assured readers that Wendy grew up fine and with no trouble, it was based on the fact that Wendy always wanted to become a mother from the start. And with modern adaptations of Wendy giving her more independence and equal status to Peter himself while also retaining the original story arc, it simply begs the question "Would a more independent Wendy be willing to grow up if she'd known her adult life is to be nothing more than a housewife?" This film answers with a firm no, and begins to explore how the modern Wendy living in an early 20th century world would turn her into an unhappy, selfish mother trying to live through her daughter's life to feel childhood again. It's a dark, twisted, and tragic tale that makes you question if Wendy should have grow up or should have just stayed in Neverland forever.

* Recommended by: @/TheDarkDuchess
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: When Peter is in danger, Tinkerbell and Wendy become unlikely allies to try to save the boy they both love. But why exactly does Peter need saving? And from what?
* Pairing: Peter/Wendy
* Comments: As someone who ''adores'' Peter and Wendy together, this is is a personal favorite of mine. The writing is exquisite, staying true to the style of J. M. Barrie. Peter and Wendy are in character, and the relationship between the two is beautiful. By the time the story ends, you're genuinely sad that it's over.

* Recommended by: Shadao
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: Taking place 3 years after the 2003 movie, 16 years-old Wendy is living with Aunt Millicent to be tutored as a proper lady ready for marriage, a life that she discovers to be suffocating and miserable. But during a carriage ride, she encounters a boy in disheveled clothes who reminds her of Peter Pan. She dreams about Neverland once again as she interacts with the familiar-looking homeless boy more and more. But she reconnects to her past through this boy, an old adversary emerges to finish his revenge...
* Pairing: Peter/Wendy
* Comments: Writing a story where Wendy [[spoiler:ends up staying with Peter in Neverland forever as a child]] is always a problematic premise for many reasons. Yet, this story manages to pull it off by exploring Wendy's mysterious connection to Neverland, and Peter dealing with his own feelings for Wendy as he lives out in streets of London with no memory and growing up. By the time the story ends on a bittersweet note, you'll find more sweetness than sadness for these characters.
