An excellent LighterAndSofter fic about Charlie's effort to better himself through taking another "intelligent pill" and actually spending time with the titular Scientist instead of the Gang. While this fic is platonic with a dose of HoYay and UST, the later fics in the series explore Charlie and the Scientist navigate their romance through Charlie's mess up life and the Scientist's emotional insecurity. What stands out about this fic is that the Scientist avoids being a RelationshipSue and FixerSue for Charlie: ''Charlie'' is the one that instigates the relationship and actively wants to better himself instead of the other way around and this process is realistic, funny and heartwarming. The Scientist doesn't magically solves all of Charlie's problem and even is a well-rounded character in his own.
