''Wind and Fire'' is a work in progress {{Alternate Universe}}/{{Fix Fic}}/rewrite of the first arc of the ''Literature/{{Warrior|Cats}}s'' series, where the main protagonist, Firestar, ends up joining [=WindClan=] instead of [=ThunderClan=]. Major plot points have been shifted around to accomidate for this change, although the main plot of the first arc generally remains the same.

Wind and Fire is a collaboration by two users, known as Eazbeaz and [=GalacticGale=] online. The fanfic itself is available to read on both ''[[https://archiveofourown.org/series/1369996 Archive of our Own]]'' and ''[[https://warriors-windandfireau.tumblr.com/chapters Tumblr]]''.

''Wind and Fire'' is currently a work in progress, and it is currently on Fire and Ice.

'''Note: due to the nature of this being an {{Alternate Universe}} fic with main plot events that are relatively the same as the original Warriors canon, only things specific to this AU will be marked as spoilers. It's recommended that you don't read this page or the fic unless you have knowledge on at least the first arc of Warriors.'''

!! ''Warriors: Wind and Fire'' contains examples of:

* {{A Day in the Limelight}}: The prologues and epilogues provide some necessary characterization and context for certain characters and scenes.

* {{Accidental Misnaming}}: When Greypaw first meets Rusty and asks what his name is, he cycles through a few name guesses for him, those being "Grassy", "Daisy", and "Fluffy".

* {{Action Girl}}: Just like in canon, the female members of the Clans have no trouble fighting and sticking up for themselves.
** {{Action Dad}}: Tallstar.

* {{Adaptational Diversity}}: It's been stated that there will be more LGBTQ+ characters than canon.

* {{Adaptation Dye Job}}: Princess is brownish grey with white and orange spots, as opposed to being a light brown tabby in canon.

* {{Adaptational Early Appearance}}: Many of the events have been alterted and/or pushed back from when they first occured in the canon books.

* {{Adaptation Name Change}}:
** The term "fresh kill pile" has been replaced by the term "prey pile", due to the former term being a bit of a mouthful to say and write.
** The term "molly" is used instead of "she-cat".

* {{Adaptation Personality Change}}: The [=WindClan=] cats, who were mainly background characters in the original Warriors series, all have fleshed out personalities in this fic. Especially the apprentices that Firepaw ends up befriending as soon as he joins.
** Firepaw has tons of character development and isn't heavily reliant on [=StarClan=], as opposed to the actual ''Warriors'' canon.
** [[spoiler:Princess]] is an especially big example of this. She's extremely sassy and unapologetic, compared to her simple "nice and sweet" characterization in the original Warriors books.

* {{Affectionate Nickname}}: [[spoiler:Princess]] calling Firepaw "Rusty".

* {{After Action Healing Drama}}: After [=WindClan's=] battle with [=ShadowClan=] that leads to their exile, Barkface uses whatever supplies he has and can find to heal his Clanmates' many injuries.

* {{All Your Base Are Belong to Us}}: [=ShadowClan=] drive [=WindClan=] out of their territory and force them into temporary exile.

* {{Alternate Universe Fic}}: It's the entire point of the fic!

* {{A Pet Into The Wild}}: Rusty, a house cat (or kittypet, as the Clans call them) longes to explore what's past the forest in hopes of finding something similar to the moorland he constantly dreams about. He gets his wish granted and ends up joining [=WindClan=].
** [[spoiler:Princess tracks down [=WindClan=] in order to find where Firepaw left to. Once she successfully finds him, ends up staying with [=WindClan=] for the time being, due to being pregnant.]]

* {{Arc Villain}}: Nearly every book has, or is going to have, one of these.
** For ''Into the Wild'', it was Brokenstar and [=ShadowClan=]
** ''Fire and Ice'' has no concrete main villain, and instead mostly focuses on personal character struggles.

* {{Ascended Extra}}: Practically every single [=WindClan=] cat from the original first arc is this, due to the main focus of the fanfic being on their Clan. Most of them get a nice amount of character development to boot as well.

* {{Automobiles Are Alien}}: {{Inverted|Trope}}, as Firepaw doesn't think that monsters (cars) or Thunderpaths (roads) are scary, and even states multiple times that he's gotten used to being around them from his time as a kittypet.

* {{Big Bad}}: Brokenstar and [=ShadowClan=] - at least, in Into the Wild.

* {{Breather Episode}}: Chapter 9 of Into the Wild could count as this. After Tallstar makes Whitekit an apprentice, the five apprentices decide to have some bonding time. The chapters for the rest of the book consist of things such as Brokenstar's unruly deal, [=WindClan's=] exile, and the big [=ShadowClan=] battle at the end where [[spoiler:Silverpaw dies.]]

* {{Cerebus Syndrome}}: Fire and Ice in particular is this. A lot more focus on more serious topics, especially with Firepaw, are introduced, and it starts focusing much more seriously on individual character arcs.

* {{Character Development}}: Because of their {{Ascended Extra}} status, every [=WindClan=] character recieves some of this. Firepaw is the biggest example of this however, due to being the main protagonist.

* {{Darker and Edgier}}: Compared to the canon first arc of Warriors, this is definitely the case.

* {{Deconstruction Fic}}: It's definitely a huge goal of this fic to do things like this, especially with Firepaw's character arc.

* {{Demoted to Extra}}: [=ThunderClan=] loses its spotlight as the main POV Clan in this, as do most of its characters.

* {{Establishing Character Moment}}: For Onepaw, he first appears offering to show the newly named Firepaw around [=WindClan=] and welcome him to Clan life.

* {{For Want of a Nail}}: Barkface recieving the prophecy about Rusty instead of Spottedleaf.

* {{Foil}}: Firepaw with [[spoiler:his sister Princess.]] Both left the Twolegplace for the moors for different reasons: Firepaw because he was unhappy with his life, and [[spoiler:Princess]] because she wanted to [[spoiler:track down her brother herself.]] Their personalities also greatly contrast too, with [[spoiler:Princess']] more sassy and blunt demeanor contrasting Firepaw's more impulsive and nervous one.

* {{Greater Need Than Mine}}: Comes full force as an entire subplot in Fire and Ice. [[spoiler:During leaf-bare, Firepaw insists that the Clan should be more fed than himself. Not only does he neglect eating, he also neglects visiting Barkface when he deduces that he has whitecough (as well as eventually greencough). He eventually passes out in a snowstorm, and is forced to get treatment.]]

* {{Happily Adopted}}: Whitepaw, who was adopted by Morningflower.

* {{Harsher in Hindsight}}: In Chapter 14 of Fire and Ice, Firepaw tells [[spoiler:Greypaw that he hopes he can make it to the next Gathering. Cue the next few chapters, which reveal that Firepaw was stuck in camp with greencough for around a moon, meaning that he ended up missing the Gathering for that moon.]]

* {{Original Character}}: A few have been added, but only because [=WindClan's=] allegiances are really small at the beginning of Into the Wild in the original books. It's also been clearly stated that the canon characters will be focused on way more than the OCs.

* {{Power Trio}}: Firepaw, Onepaw, and [[spoiler:Greypaw]]

* {{Sick Episode}}: Chapter 18 of ''Fire and Ice''.

* {{The Exile}}: The entirety of [=WindClan=] was forced to retreat from their own home and wander outside of the Clan territories after [=ShadowClan=] launched an attack on them, due to [=WindClan=] denying Brokenstar's offer of alliance to them.

* {{The Prophecy}}: The main prophecy of the first arc has been reworded to "fire may save the Clans", and has been given to Barkface instead of Spottedleaf.

* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: [[spoiler:Greypaw gives a very shocking one to the newly named Nightstar at a Gathering near the beginning of Fire and Ice.]]
->[[spoiler:“How ''dare'' you?” His howl echoed around the clearing, and was met with silence. “Oh, ‘your loyal followers’? I’m sorry, your memory must be failing you! From what ''I'' remember, the ''majority of your cats'' either fought for Brokenstar, or stood by, watching and doing nothing like cowards! Do you forget about Onepaw and Firepaw, ''the entire [=ThunderClan patrol=]'', for [=StarClan’s sake=], ''Silverpaw''? She gave her life to get that wretch out of the Clans, and she’s being rewarded with what? ''What''?” He genuinely paused, even if it seemed to be a rhetorical question. No one answered.]]\
[[spoiler:“She gets to be brushed over, forgotten, and given ''no credit''. Was [=RiverClan=] even told ''how'' she died, or could you not even push away ''that'' small of an amount of your fragile pride? Or are you so fox-hearted to completely forget about how a young apprentice threw away her life for your Clan?]]\
[[spoiler:“And then you have the ''audacity'' to call yourself ‘Nightstar’! There is only one group of cats that can give you such a name; [=StarClan=]. It isn’t something self-given! By [=StarClan=], you don’t even have nine lives! Oh, and what is your excuse? You had ''half a whole moon'' to take the short trip to the Moonstone! Were you so busy with repairing your Clan that not a single night could be spared? Or did you- did you find it unnecessary to- ''to''-”]]\
[[spoiler:Greypaw’s flow of speaking was interrupted, and he shook his head, growling. “You disgust me, ''Nightpelt''.”]]\

* {{Unnamed Parent}}: During her visit to the Moonstone, Runningpaw mentions seeing her mothers again in a dream. However, their names are never brought up.

* {{We Hardly Knew Ye}}: The OCs included in the story are nothing more than flat background characters to fill up [=WindClan's=] small allegiances. Half of them are killed off during the battle with [=ShadowClan=] that led to [=WindClan's=] exile.

* {{Wham Episode}}: Practically every chapter after [=WindClan=] flees their territory in Into the Wild is this.
** Chapter 18 of Fire and Ice [[spoiler:goes into detail about Firepaw's greencough condition. Chapters prior to this one describe his illness and symptoms as they develop, but never as in depth as this chapter.]]
