D.C. Douglas (born February 2, 1966) is an American voice actor born in Berkeley, California. He used to be a stage performer before becoming a voice actor. While he did do some voice acting, it was mostly on the minor side, but [[StarMakingRole he gained fame]] when he voiced [[VideoGame/ResidentEvil5 Albert Wesker]] and [[VideoGame/MassEffect2 Legion]]. His role as Wesker is so famous that he pretty much propelled himself into being a fan-favorite voice actor in a short period of time.

He got into [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-13Sw_ivkY trouble]] when he left a voice mail for a Tea Party group called Freedom Works, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMUVFctJ2Xw which helped him build up a side career as a left-wing political satirist.]]

He also does occasional live acting for TV shows and films from Creator/TheAsylum.

His personal website can be found [[https://www.dcdouglas.com here]].

%%As with all Creator/ pages, trivia tropes about the creator specifically are to be posted here, not a Trivia/ page, as they technically are InUniverse in the case of the person's career.
%%However: As with all Creator/ pages, items that could go on a specific work's trivia page go there, not here.
* ActingForTwo: Douglas's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj2BKTYbZjg farewell video]] to his two major roles in the video game industry involves Legion trying to establish an alliance with Wesker.
* DeadpanSnarker: Many of his political Website/YouTube videos tend to be very sarcastic (particularly in regards to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_Kuo8lb6Bg the Tea Party]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb9arfCVGZU Donald Trump]]).
%% (Administrivia/ZeroContextExample) * FakeBrit: As Wesker.

%% (Administrivia/WeblinksAreNotExamples)* HilariousOuttakes: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p52-QBTXZyM Parodied]].
* LargeHam: A lot of his characters come out this way. For example, Wesker.
* ManOfAThousandVoices: While usually cast as characters with baritone voices, he has an impressive range. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-8YX66eyw4 In one political cartoon he wrote and voiced in]], he provides at least four voices: a "normal" voice, a [[CrossDressingVoices female voice]], a [[DeepSouth Deep-Southern]] voice, and [[FakeRussian one with a thick Russian accent]].
* PigeonholedVoiceActor: A large majority of the characters he voiced tend to be [[EvilSoundsDeep deep-voiced villains]].
* PlayingAgainstType:
** The dance instructor from ''VideoGame/Persona4DancingAllNight'' has Douglas using a higher-pitched super-{{camp}} voice.
** [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Kira]] pushes him into the territory of SoftSpokenSadist, which is a rarity for Douglas beyond a few instances of ColdHam.

* Rule34: He's well aware of this existing for Wesker, and even hosted a panel at cons where he read adult Wesker fanfiction. ''In his Wesker voice.'' He also enlists volunteers from the audience and assigns the other parts to them. It is as hysterical as it sounds.
* StarMakingRole: His role as Wesker in ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil5'' made him a household name among American voice actors, along with Legion from the ''Franchise/MassEffect'' series.
* StreisandEffect: Ironically, after the Tea Party and Freedom Works lampooned him and got him fired from his job with Geico, he got a ''lot'' more work, became considerably more prolific and broke into mainstream video games with both ''Resident Evil'' and ''Mass Effect''. He took a minute to rub this into their faces after 2012.
* TakeThat: After becoming a famous voice actor following his troubles with Freedom Works, Douglas took an opportunity to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMUVFctJ2Xw lob some potshots at them.]]
* TeasingCreator: On his [[https://www.facebook.com/mrdcdouglas/posts/10153940060867437 Facebook]] and [[https://twitter.com/DC_Douglas/status/692048414633111553 Twitter]] accounts, he alludes to voicing "[[Characters/ResidentEvil1 some evil dude]]" (a.k.a., his most famous role) in the upcoming ''VideoGame/UmbrellaCorps'' game.
