6Victor Jack Maddern, (16 March 1928 -- 22 June 1993), was a British actor.

8He trained at the RADA after his time serving in UsefulNotes/WorldWarII. His first screen appearance came in ''Seven Days to Noon'' as a soldier tasked to shoot a scientist and two years later, he appeared in one of his earliest stage roles, Sam Weller in ''The Trial of Mr Pickwick''.

10For the rest of his career, Maddern was a familiar face in films and TV, often TypeCast as military men. He had memorable roles in ''Blood of the Vampire'', ''I'm All Right Jack'', ''Film/PleaseTurnOver'', five ''Film/CarryOn'' films, ''Film/CircusOfFear1966'', and a MissingEpisode of ''Series/DixonOfDockGreen'', notable for a surviving outtake reel where Maddern repeatedly mispronounces "Dock Green Nick" as "Dock Green Dick".

12On the side, he ran a script printing business, opened a school for public speaking, and devoted much time to working for charity.
