Shakespeare's Globe is a British theatre company based in the eponymous Globe, a replica of Creator/WilliamShakespeare's original open-air London theatre.

The company presents a mix of original Shakespeare plays, plays by his contemporaries and other historical playwrights, and new, modern works.

In warmer months, the Globe performs outdoors. In winter, they instead present plays within the Jacobean-style Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

Both venues often support {{Filmed Stage Production}}s, with plays released on home media, licensed to streaming services or made available via the theatre's own Globe Player streaming service.

The company also use the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse for "Read Not Dead" one-off readthroughs, reviving little-known historical plays for script-in-hand performances.

Their website is [[https://www.shakespearesglobe.com/ here]].

!!Shakespeare's Globe offers examples of the following tropes:
* CrossCastRole: In Creator/WilliamShakespeare's time, women were banned from acting on the stage and men played all female roles. The Globe regularly presents all-male productions done in this style. They're frequently accompanied by all-female productions featuring the rest of the company.
* FilmedStageProduction: The Globe has released quite a few of its productions for home media and streaming services. It even offers its own "Globe Player" streaming subscription.
** ''Theatre/DoctorFaustus'': A 2011 performance of Creator/ChristopherMarlowe's play, directed by Matthew Dunster with Paul Hilton as Faustus and Creator/ArthurDarvill as Mephistopheles.
