Yamada's second friend who starts up the Supernatural Studies Club along with him and Shiraishi. He's the vice-president of the student council and later becomes president. He's the vice-president of the club as well.

Ten years later, in the epilogue, he has become a successful diplomat.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: This happens in the second witch war when Ichijo's provocation power makes everyone irrationally angry, and given their need to take it out on someone, they take it out on Miyamura who's the StudentCouncilPresident - Miyamura even points out that it's human nature to take out on your anger on authority figures when you don't know who to take it out on. This leads to a vote of non-confidence, making him lose his position.
* AbhorrentAdmirer: He can't stop bugging Yamada with all sorts of advances. It's particularly bad when he's under the charm power.
* TheAce: At the start, he turns out to a bit of a BrokenAce due to his trust issues, but once he gets over that, he becomes a full-blown ace, being the BigManOnCampus, good-looking, academically inclined, athletic and strong, humorous and jovial. He's often shown to be the best at even the small things, such as when he effortlessly catches a goldfish in a GoldfishScoopingGame while Yamada and Shiraishi struggle with it.
* AintTooProudToBeg: More than once, he has been seen on his knees begging for forgiveness.
* AlcoholHic: He starts hiccuping when he and the other guys are drinking in the epilogue.
* AllergicToRoutine: To the point where he states that he’ll die if he gets bored.
* AnimalMotifs: Tigers. The ”tora” part of his name means tiger, and he’s shown on a cover page with tigers. He also has some traits in common with a stereotypical tiger, like being charismatic and the BigManOnCampus as well as a bit of a loner before he met Yamada.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: According to Shiraishi, he believes in zombies, claiming that he saw one in a graveyard once, but despite this he doesn't believe in ghosts.
* BackToBackBadasses: Entirely PlayedForLaughs, but he and Noa take this position when they're about to attack Ushio with medieval weapons pulled out of [[{{Hammerspace}} thin air]].
* BadassBookworm: He usually acts as the brains of the group, but he is also very strong - at least at Yamada's level - and beats up thugs easily.
* BadassFingersnap: As the student council president, he can make Yamada bring tea in an instant by snapping his fingers.
* BenevolentBoss: Save for his bouts of annoying laziness, especially when Yamada’s working, he’s all in all a good student council leader who likes, respects, and listens to all the members and, unlike Yamazaki, actually involves them in witch matters.
* BestFriend: To Yamada, since they are HeterosexualLifePartners who always have each other's backs. In the last part of the series, Miyamura shares the role with Ushio, who also was Yamada's best friend before high school.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He is goofy, nonchalant and barely ever seems to take things seriously, but you really don't want to make an enemy out of him either way; he is very intelligent if he has his mind set on a case, and he can be genuinely scary if you make him angry.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Inverted since he is the little brother. He only transferred to Suzaku for Leona's sake, to hunt down the seventh witch who hurt her.
* BigDamnHeroes: When he saves Yamada, Chikushi and Kurosaki from thugs in his "Masked DK 2.0" disguise.
* BigGood: By becoming the student council president and a benevolent one of that, he is this in the second witch war, though Yamada remains TheHero.
* BigManOnCampus: He is handsome, smart, a good fighter, a good friend, generally a nice guy (though mostly to his friends, not so much to random admirers), powerful thanks to his (former) student council position, and all in all popular.
* BishieSparkle: When he talks about how popular he is as the up-and-coming student council president.
* BluntYes: In chapter 210, he reassures Yamada that he shouldn't heed others' advice and should just follow his own heart when it comes to recovering the lost memories - in an attempt to manipulate Yamada into going along with his idea of using Kurosaki's time travel power. When Yamada finally decides to try to recover the memories, Miyamura is ecstatic about Yamada going along with his plan. Yamada angrily asks if Miyamura was just pretending to be sympathizing with his worries, after which latter quickly replies "yup".
* BookSmart: He's often stated to be among the best students of the school. He gets the 20th-best grades of his year even when lazing off constantly, implying that he could be just as good as Shiraishi if he applied himself more.
* BrilliantButLazy: He is smart and quite competent, so there's no doubt that at least some of the series' problems could be solved quicker if he bothered trying solving them instead of Yamada... but he usually doesn't.
* BrokenAce: He may be the BigManOnCampus, but most people don't know that he actually transferred to Suzaku out of a troubled wish of revenge for his sister who was hurt by the seventh witch, and that he has trust issues at the start (he doesn't truly trust Yamada and Shiraishi for the first several ''months'' in case they had fallen under Rika's power).
* BromanticFoil: He and Yamada always hang out, and his silliness and perverted ideas contrast him to Yamada's constant need to play the StraightMan. And at the same time, he does his best to be Yamada's wingman.
* BroomstickQuarterstaff: Despite being a competent hand-to-hand fighter, he for some reason tried to use a broom to fight Dark Takuma.
* CasanovaWannabe: The funny thing is that he's a real ChickMagnet when he doesn't purposely try to charm girls - but when he does, he often fails spectacularly. At least, Shiraishi refuses to kiss him from the start.
* CelibateHero: Surprisingly, he is one. Despite all of his perverted messing around, he has said that he doesn't want to have an actual relationship for the time being. His reasoning is purposely vague and could be interpreted as either "I don't want to commit myself so that I can sleep around as much as possible" or "I don't want to spend less time with my friends and admirers because of a girlfriend". True to his word, he's still single 10 years later.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In the early days of the manga, he had a slightly more serious demeanor, and he would often play the StraightMan to Yamada, while in later chapters the roles are usually reversed, except for a few times when it comes to strategizing.
* TheCharmer: He often manages to get his way on charisma alone. Curiously, it's noted to work on Yamada who otherwise scorns his flirting.
* ChickMagnet: A classical example who can attract girls with his mere presence, though he at times seems to fall into CluelessChickMagnet territory.
* ChivalrousPervert: Towards girls. Even though he will do anything to see their underwear or nude bodies, he also respects them. For example, he was very keen on kissing Shiraishi to swap bodies with her, but accepted that she doesn't want to kiss anybody but Yamada. Towards Yamada, however, he tends to be a bit less restricted in his sexual advances.
* ComedicUnderwearExposure: At the second ceremony, Nancy pulls his pants down as part of her TimeFreezeTrollingSpree.
* TheComicallySerious: He tends to do absolutely silly things with a blank poker face. He also shares Shiraishi's tendency to underreact to things.
* CommonalityConnection: He and Noa bond over a shared interest in science-related things - and of course, over shared crushes on Yamada and a shared love for messing with him.
* CrazyJealousGuy: He doesn’t take kindly to guys showing interest in Leona. [[BrotherSisterIncest Because he wants her to himself]]. He has also had a bit of comical rivalry with Noa around Yamada.
* CrocodileTears: Despite being one of the few major characters who haven't been shown crying for real, he'll often pretend to sob into his sleeve whenever he's manipulating or trolling Yamada.
* CuteLittleFangs: He has rather long canine teeth, but they don't detract from his handsomeness. Leona has them too, so it probably runs in the family.
* {{Delinquent}}: It is actually implied that he may have dabbled in some delinquency, given that Yamada - when meeting him the first time - says to himself that the name of Miyamura is known in "his circles", but he cannot think of how Miyamura would know an honor student like Shiraishi. There's also his fighting skills which probably don't come out of nowhere.
* DitzyGenius: He is fairly intelligent, but he tends to turn his brain off at random moments so that Yamada becomes exasperated with him, like when they visit Shiraishi's house the first time and he doesn't realize that it's probably not a good idea to make a mess of her room.
* DoubleStandardRapeMaleOnMale: Downplayed example since it's about sexual harassment instead of actual rape, but take note of how his sexual harassment of Yamada whenever Yamada's in a girl's body is always PlayedForLaughs. It probably wouldn't be played for laughs, but instead be seen as disgusting, if that was an ''actual'' girl in there.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: Other than his fangirls, we have Kurosaki as one of his more passionate admirers. Yamada's also had more than one [[AmbiguouslyBi ambiguous moment]] with him.
* {{Facepalm}}: How he usually shows exasperation with Yamada, for example when Yamada chooses to help Kimishima instead of the student council, or when Yamada was completely to Shiraishi's [[ReadyForLovemaking sexual hints]].
* {{Familiar}}: He becomes Yamada’s spotter for a while when Yamada copies Takuma’s power, making him a human version of this trope.
* FamilyThemeNaming: The "tora" in his name means "tiger", while his sister Leona's name means "lioness".
* {{Flanderization}}: His sister complex which goes from being relatively subtle (when Yamada points it out, it seems more like an assumption than anything) to being uncomfortably obvious and a much bigger part of his character.
* FlippingTheBird: He does it towards Yamazaki when he finds out that Yamazaki and Leona's love for each other is mutual.
* FreudianExcuse: His sister complex seems to partially originate in how he suffered from ParentalNeglect in his early childhood and felt Leona was the only one he could rely on.
* FriendlessBackground: While much more popular than the other club members, he is not shown to have any real friends before he meets Yamada. Leona also says that he's never brought a friend home.
* TheGadfly: He loves messing with Yamada, to the point that half of his flirting may not actually be flirting, but just attempts to annoy Yamada.
* GagPenis: During body swap gags, there are sometimes implications that he is... well-hung:
** When Itou strips in his body, she freaks out and says he has a "supernatural phenomenon" between his legs (of course, since it's [[CloudCuckooLander Itou]], it may not mean anything).
** Odagiri merely looks curious when she looks down Yamada's pants, but looks shocked when she sees Miyamura naked.
** Arisugawa confirms that Yamada looks different down there than Miyamura, and going by her facial expression, it's not in an impressing way.
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: Seeing Shiraishi and Itou kiss made him have a nosebleed.
* GratuitousEnglish: He lived in London when he was a child, and because of that he took to calling his parents "mommy" and "daddy" in English.
* GuileHero: His street smarts are reasonable, and he's often able to persuade and manipulate other people, especially Yamada.
* HandsomeLech: He sometimes does some slightly creepy things, like opening girls' drawers to look at their underwear - not to mention his harassing of Yamada - but he generally gets away with it because he's charismatic.
* HasAType: Personality-wise, he is mostly into quiet and/or shy girls, as confirmed when he gave Shiraishi and Otsuka a much higher score in that area during his assessment of the witches.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: He and Yamada become very close friends during the course of the series, and Yamada hangs out with him just as often as with Shiraishi. Miyamura presumably wouldn't mind changing the "heterosexual" part, though.
* HyperAwareness: He's usually able to tell that something is off when he encounters body-swapped people. Not quite to the degree of Shiraishi, though, as while he knew that Arisugawa in chapter 113 wasn't the real Arisugawa, he couldn't entirely tell who she really was.
* IncestSubtext: At the start, his relationship to Leona is like this, indicated through how touchy he becomes when she is mentioned, and his embarrassed reaction when Yamada suggests that he might have a sister complex. Later on, it goes beyond subtext - he openly crushes on Leona and goes as far as including himself in a LoveDodecahedron with her.
* InSeriesNickname: He is called "Miyamu" (or "Miyamoo" in the Mahou-X scanlation) by several people.
* InstantExpert: Despite having no powers of his own, he usually takes no time to get a hang on how to use the witch powers. Unlike Yamada who took a lot of effort to learn using telepathy, Miyamura could use it immediately, and he also had no trouble figuring out to how to use the manipulation power.
* ItsALongStory: He double-subverts the trope when he steps down from running for student council presidency another time. Tamaki asks why, and Miyamura replies that it's a long story. Tamaki insists that he has time to listen to a long story. Miyamura says that the full story is that he cannot be bothered with it anymore, to which a dumbfounded Tamaki points out that the "long story" was only one sentence. Miyamura then reveals that it actually ''was'' a long story by explaining his real plan for why he shouldn't be president again.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Especially at the start of the series, he seems rather unpleasant and arrogant, and he still continues to troll Yamada constantly, but he is a good enough guy.
* TheKirk: Of the Supernatural Studies Club, balancing Shiraishi's calm and intelligent demeanor with some of Yamada's [[HotBlooded hot blood]] and emotion.
* KnightTemplarBigBrother: Like BigBrotherInstinct, inverted since he is the little brother. Still, he implies that he had originally intended to be completely ruthless on the guilty witch who messed up Leona.
* TheLancer: Even though Shiraishi is the deuteragonist, Miyamura fits this role better in the Supernatural Studies Club. Shiraishi acts more like TheSmartGirl.
* LazyBum: He isn't terribly fond of working, which is often what annoys Yamada the most about him (other than his sexual advances). He may provide strategic help, but he almost never goes out and gets his hands dirty unless forced. Instead he charms/persuades/manipulates someone else (preferably Yamada) to do it.
* LecherousLicking: When Yamada and Shiraishi swap bodies in chapter 197, he attempts to lick Yamada's face to troll him. Cue Yamada beating him up.
* LightningGlare: With Noa while they argue who had the most romantic kiss with Yamada.
* LonelyAmongPeople: It's implied that he suffered from this before meeting Yamada; he's always been charismatic and outgoing, but Yamada was the first person outside of his family he trusted enough to actually bring home and confide to.
* LonelyRichKid: His family seems to be rich, with at least his father being a successful diplomat. That doesn't stop him from having a FriendlessBackground and parents who are rarely around, just like Shiraishi's.
* LovableSexManiac: He can be incredibly perverted and especially shows an extreme interest in girls' underwear (to the point where he always rummage through girls' drawers to find their underwear), but he remains fairly sympathetic.
* LoveFreak: Despite being mostly known as a pervert, he's also a sucker for regular romance, as evidenced by his reactions to Himekawa's "romance power" (he coined the term) and Kaori's relationship among other things.
* MeaningfulName: To go with Yamada's first name "Ryu", Miyamura's given name Toranosuke is associated with the word [[TigerVersusDragon "tiger"]]. Their personalities, however, are the opposite of the animals they're associated with, but as Shiraishi puts it; Miyamura needs Yamada.
* MrExposition: He often explains things about the student council and other school going-ons to the other main characters.
* MrFanservice: He's good-looking, well-built, has a couple of shirtless scenes here and there, and is generally shown to be Yamada's more handsome and elegant contrast.
* MoodSwinger: He will sometimes switch from his default lazy mood to other moods, such as anger or excitement, and back again in an impossibly fast manner.
* MuggleBestFriend: Unlike Yamada and Shiraishi, he has no powers.
* MySisterIsOffLimits: He is very sensitive about people getting to close to Leona, but it's not as much that he wants to protect her as it's the fact [[BrotherSisterIncest that he doesn't want any competitors to her affections]].
* NervesOfSteel: He is not as [[TheStoic stoic]] as Shiraishi, but he tends to keep his calm in almost all situations, making his few emotional outbursts random, unpredictable, and sometimes scary.
* NonUniformUniform: He sometimes wears a gray cardigan instead of the standard sweater of the Suzaku school uniform.
* ObliviousToLove: Doesn't seem to know anything about Kurosaki's affection/attraction toward him.
* PaperTiger: Subverted. He pretends to be so during his first meeting with Yamada to make Yamada fight some thugs in his place so that he can confirm it's really Yamada in Shiraishi's body.
* ParentalNeglect: When he was a child, his parents spent all of their time working, leaving Leona to be the only one he felt he could rely on. Even in the present time, they still don't seem to be around much.
* PerpetualFrowner: Apparently, he was one before his introduction, given how shocked Inose became from seeing him grin.
* PetTheDog: As much as he loves to tease and screw with Yamada, Miyamura always arranges for Yamada to be able to spend time with his beloved Shiraishi.
* PowerPerversionPotential: He's usually the one who realizes and/or exploits the lewd potential in some of the witch powers; not counting the body-swap sexual harassment, he also mostly uses Otsuka's telepathy to say "[[InherentlyFunnyWords boobs]]" and send images of Odagiri's cleavage.
* PragmaticHero: Develops into this in the second witch war, probably because he has a ZeroPercentApprovalRating and feels like he has nothing to lose. He's completely fine with Yamada using the manipulation power on unwitting targets and ambushing Ushio to force him to give back Kotori's power.
* PrecisionFStrike: As a reply to a fan question, Yoshikawa mentions on her Twitter that Miyamura, having grown up in England, speaks fluent English and often converses in English at home. He'll sometimes lapse into English in other situations, and this is demonstrated by a bonus comic in which he calls Yamada's new Shoba toy "fucking nice".
* PunchAWall: He punches a hole in a brick wall when he's pissed that Yamada tries to bring Leona and Yamazaki together.
* RandomSmokingScene: He's never shown smoking during his high school years, but at his introduction in the epilogue he lights up a cigarette. Of course he could have picked up the habit during 10 years that have passed, but he's not shown smoking in any of his many further appearances in the epilogue either.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: When he's a vice-president, and later president, of the student council, he's still a reliable ally who doesn't abuse his authority (and is not on Yamazaki's side in the first witch war).
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Yamada's red. Yamada is a LargeHam who often gets angry while Miyamura is nonchalant and has NervesOfSteel.
* RightForTheWrongReasons: When he thinks Yamada and Shiraishi's relationship is gonna fizzle out soon, he's unfortunately right - just not because of their lack of a sex life as he thinks, but because they spend too little time together in general, and that becomes a problem to Shiraishi when she is put under a witch power.
* RomanticWingman: He will usually gladly take this role upon himself when Yamada needs to kiss girls who are not very cooperative from the start. Unfortunately, he is very rarely of any help - his advice about attracting girls actually tend to be good enough, but either Yamada misinterprets the advice, or the girl Yamada needs to kiss is someone who doesn't fall for classic pick-up moves.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: Despite being the {{deuteragonist}} or tritagonist of most arcs of the series, he doesn't appear until the very last panel of the second chapter, as the first chapter is solely devoted to Yamada and Shiraishi's meeting.
* ShamelessFanserviceGuy: In the booklet released with volume 28 which features bonus drawings and scenes that didn't make it into the epilogue, Yamada, Miyamura, and Ushio can be seen walking naked into the girls' bath while Shiraishi, Odagiri, and Itou are in there. Yamada and Ushio bring towels, but Miyamura doesn't bother to cover up at all.
* ShipperOnDeck: Becomes one for Yamada and Shiraishi when Yamada reveals to him that he is in love with her.
* ShowingOffTheNewBody: The first thing he does the first time he swaps bodies with Shiraishi is stripping down to his underwear and showing off in front of Yamada.
* SkewedPriorities: He tends to prioritize silly or perverted things over important or serious things. When Kaori offered to do one favor, he would rather see her take her clothes off or have Yamada rub her boobs than gain information about the Japanese chess club, and when Shiraishi had finally returned to school and confronted Yamada about another girl, he would rather play with soap bubbles than worry/interfere.
* SlasherSmile: He has a very big one at his introduction when he's about to bust Yamada and Shiraishi, making him seem almost evil.
* SmokingIsCool: In the epilogue, he has become a smoker - all while remaining as sleek as ever.
* TheSocialExpert: Though Itou is TheFace of the club, and Yamada has a better intuition when it comes to people in trouble, Miyamura is the club member with the best analytical people skills - he is perceptive, knows a thing or two about manipulation and often acts as TheCharmer.
* SpikyHair: He's somewhat mischievous and has this hairstyle.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Miyamura is the only character besides Yamada himself who consistently gets a lot of screen-time and never has long periods of time where's he's OutOfFocus or [[PutOnABus outright absent]]. As such, his constant appearances can come across as very gratuitous to those who want minor characters to get more focus.
* StepfordSmiler: It's outright stated by the narration that he hid anything that bothered him with smiles and lies - until he finally told Yamada, that is.
* TheStrategist: Is often the one who thinks up the plans, most noticeably in Sarushima's arc.
* StudentCouncilPresident: In the second part of the story - until he is removed from office through a no-confidence bill.
* StupidSexyFlanders: Yamada finds himself having this reaction towards him now and then. Like the time he describes Miyamura's ChickMagnet attributes.
* SupportingLeader: In the second witch war; he is the student council president and thus the one who takes charge against antagonistic witches, but he still isn't the main character.
* TaremeEyes: He has them, and while also having some traits associated with TsurimeEyes, he's usually calm and easygoing.
* TargetSpotter: This is one of his purposes as a spotter along with being a human {{Familiar}}. He can relay the positions of the witches to Yamada in case that Yamada wants to erase their memories.
* TimeForPlanB: When Yamada's attempt to distract Tsubaki and change the future doesn't seem to work, Miyamura says this phrase and pulls a new plan out of his sleeve.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Curry which he seems to eat rather often at home.
* {{Tritagonist}}: In the first part of the story. He's a bit less important the main couple (though he probably has more lines than Shiraishi because she is a bit quiet), but much more important than Itou and Tsubaki. In the second part of the story, he is the {{Deuteragonist}} since Shiraishi's screen-time decreases - though he has to share the role with Odagiri now and then, and Shiraishi again when he returns to the club.
* {{Troll}}: Mostly just a [[TheGadfly gadfly]], but he can be this on occasion. The way he pretended that he had still forgotten Yamada after the ceremony was almost malicious.
* TroubledButCute: [[BrokenAce He's not as entirely perfect as he seems]], but he's still got major ChickMagnet credentials and a better social standing than the other club members.
* UndyingLoyalty: While he's usually not one to talk openly about it due to his frivolous personality, he nonetheless develops an extreme sense of loyalty toward Yamada after the first witch war and will always trust him.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: As a young kid, he was an innocent crybaby; a bit of a difference from the sneaky pervert he is in the present time.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He states he is terrified of cats when he and Yamada visit Shiraishi's house, and her family's cat appears.
* WistfulAmnesia: Not quite to the degree of, say, Shiraishi, Noa and Yamazaki, but he mentions that he did have a weird feeling of something missing from his life the first time he forgot Yamada.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: At the very start of the series, when he suspects that "Shiraishi" is actually a body-swapped Yamada, he pretends to be knocked out cold by the thugs who attack them, just to see if "she" will try to fight them in his place (which the real Shiraishi wouldn't be able to do). "She" [[CurbStompBattle easily defeats one of them]] with a RoundhouseKick, confirming Miyamura's suspicions.
* ZombieGait: He walks like this, zombie-like facial expression included, after a whole day of exhausting sightseeing in Guam.

-->Voiced by: Creator/MaayaUchida (Japanese), Creator/RachelGlass (English), Creator/AnnieRojas (Latin American Spanish)
-->Portrayed by: Reina Triendl

The fourth member of the Supernatural Studies Club and the only one who actually has a general interest in supernatural phenomena and not just the witch powers.

She is a rookie member like Yamada, Tsubaki, and Hikaru, though she often takes on a leader role due to her enthusiasm.

In the epilogue, ten years later, she works as a teacher at Suzaku High.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: She can't stop bugging Yamada when under the charm power.
* AdaptationalHairstyleChange: She has short and somewhat unkempt hair in the manga. In the live-action drama, her actress has relatively long hair that is neatly combed and worn in a long sidetail.
* AgentMulder: She believes in ghosts, ufos, and all sorts of weird things, and if something seems supernatural, it's more interesting to her than if there is some mundane explanation.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: At her introduction, no one liked her or wanted to associate with her because of her lies.
* AmbiguouslyBi: She has shown attraction to guys, but she certainly also has her moments with other girls that would suggest she's not entirely straight. She blushed a lot all the times she kissed Sarushima, and she is ''very'' fond of Shiraishi, at least trying to invoke some sort of PseudoRomanticFriendship with her.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: When she joined the club, she at least tried to be nice and create a feeling of team spirit (though the others still found her annoying due to her overbearing and overly eager personality). Didn't stop her from turning vicious when she thought they had been lying to her.
* BookDumb: While not as terrible as Yamada, it's mentioned in a Q&A corner that her grades are quite poor, and she is one of the students who have to get into Suzaku University by internal admission; but similarly to Yamada, she is not dumb, just applying her intelligence in other areas.
* BoyishShortHair: She is not extremely boyish, but more so than Shiraishi as she can be aggressive and hot-tempered in a decidedly non-feminine way. She had long hair before high school and has grown it long again in the epilogue, though.
* {{Brainwashed}}: For a while, she was hit by Ichijo's provocation power, which made her try to drive stakes between people out of jealousy. (Case in point, Yamada and Shiraishi)
* BustContrastDuo: With Shiraishi. Shiraishi is very busty, while Itou is more average in that department (although not flat-chested), and they've got the personalities down, with Shiraishi being gentle and Itou being hotheaded. A slight variation is that Itou never displays ACupAngst, and Shiraishi seems oblivious to the fact that she is busty ([[HypocriticalHumor often wondering why Yamada likes girls with big boobs]]).
* CallingYourAttacks: She does this the first time she is in Yamada's body and tries to fight. [[LampshadeHanging Others point out how ridiculous it is]].
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: When it comes to her stance to Yamada's delinquency. At her introduction, she doesn't actually seem to care that Yamada's a delinquent - she doesn't respect him quite as much as she respects Shiraishi and Miyamura, but otherwise she acts normal around with him and even tries to make friends with him. At later occasions, when she loses her memory of him, she's extremely distrustful around him exactly because he's a delinquent, and acts much more hostile toward him than the other club members.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Being a keen believer in the supernatural, she has her moments, like when her and Yamada visited the "sealed" classroom, and she blamed anything she saw on a ghost she was sure resided there.
* CoolTeacher: In the epilogue, she's a teacher on Suzaku High, and she's on good enough terms with her students to joke around with them and to ask them about matters such as witch powers.
* CosplayOtakuGirl: She hasn't been ''seen'' dressing up, but there must be some reason for why she has all those costumes - a PlayboyBunny outfit, a princess dress, and a cheerleader uniform among others.
* CovertPervert: One of her trademarks, especially early on, is her vivid imagination, and this also includes dirty fantasies. Although given that ImagineSpotting is a thing in this series, she may not be as covert as she'd like to be...
* CryingWolf: A major part of her character at first. Because she has shared so many weird, untrue rumors throughout her time in high school, no-one will believe her when she shares yet another rumor - even though this is not about aliens or supernatural phenomena.
* {{Cuckoosnarker}}: While Itou is in her own little supernatural world a lot of the time, she's not devoid of common sense, and she quite often makes sharp comments on especially Yamada's stupidity.
* CutenessProximity: She has a very soft spot for anything cute ([[FriendToAllChildren especially kids]]) and will immediately let her hot-tempered personality melt away in those cases.
* ADayInTheLimelight: In the extra chapter that focuses on her and Yamada's sleepover, as well as in chapter 194.
* DemotedToExtra: She is part of the main cast in the first part of the story (not the most important main character, but still a main character), but in the second part - which focuses on the student council instead of the club - she is a minor character.
* DinnerBathOrSexOffer: When put under [[LovePotion the charm power]] by Yamada, she greets him by asking "do you wanna have dinner, maybe you'd like a bath, or would you rather have ''me''?". Miyamura, who's also under the charm power, follows up by saying "or ''me''?".
* DislikesTheNewGuy: She has a history of being distrustful to new members of the club:
** When Tsubaki wanted to join, she opposed it strongly, and when he was eventually allowed to, she made it clear that she didn't want him around (she had warmed up to him in the next chapter, though).
** Every time her memories of Yamada are wiped and he tries to return to the club, she goes into a panical frenzy.
** Averted with Hikaru; probably because she was the one who wanted a new member to take over the club.
* TheFace: She is generally the most outgoing member of the club, the one who wants to recruit new members, and the one who tries to represent the club at school-related activities.
* FieryRedhead: Very much. She's outgoing, and it doesn't take much to make her angry.
* FriendlessBackground: Used to have no friends because she kept telling made-up stories of supernatural phenomena which annoyed the other students.
* FriendToAllChildren: She seems to be very fond of children, with how she instantly likes the child-like Kotori and Hikaru, and with how she gladly chats to and holds Odagiri's and Ushio's children in the epilogue.
* GenkiGirl: When she's in a good mood, and something gets her interest, she becomes rather hyperactive and overly eager.
* GetOut: Her reaction to Yamada coming into the clubroom when she has forgotten him the second time around, especially when she thinks he's a stalker which absolutely creeps her out.
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: She mentions that seeing two girls kiss gets her heart racing - even though the girls in question are actually body-swapped guys (one of them in her own body).
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Like Shiraishi, she has many stuffed toys, though hers are often a bit less "cute"-themed, such as alien plushies.
* GuyOnGuyIsHot: A keen believer in this, apparently - she is often seen in the background with a various assortment of blushing or exciting expressions when Yamada and Miyamura are kissing.
* HairTriggerTemper: Of course she doesn't measure up to Odagiri - the series' prime example of the trope - but Itou still has something of a temper problem, having a very hard time staying calm when things annoy her. It has been lampshaded.
* TheHeart: Of the Supernatural Studies Club. While not being the most gentle girl out there, she does play a supportive role to the club.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: When she was hit by Ichijo's witch power. She stopped frequenting the club, and she took part in the student council opposition, and yet she did have some compassion left for her friends and willingly went with her club to the student council office to hear about Yamada's past.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: She becomes this with Shiraishi as time goes on, often hanging out with her (when Shiraishi isn't with Yamada), and being the first one that Shiraishi confides to about her crush on Yamada.
* HotBlooded: She's easy to excite, but she's also easy to anger.
* {{Hypocrite}}: She doesn't waste a chance to complain when Tsubaki and (especially) Yamada act stupid, but she has plenty of thoughtless or ditzy moments herself.
* ICantLookGesture: She gets a habit of doing this during compromising situations in later chapters, like when Hikaru goes shirtless and when Shiraishi zips down Yamada's pants, although she still can't help herself from peeking through her fingers.
* IdiotBall: A very positive one, but still; when Miyamura needed to trick the Supernatural Studies Club to go on the winter trip, he told Itou that the grave of Jesus was located near the clubhouse. She actually fell for it. Usually, she's very well-versed in supernatural knowledge, so it seems unlikely that she wouldn't know that Jesus' grave can't possibly be located near a Japanese clubhouse of all places.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: She joined the Supernatural Studies Club in the hope of getting some friends, assuming that they might believe her tall tales and not just dismiss her.
* ImagineSpot: Liked having these at the start of the story, though they are not seen much in later chapters.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: With Tsubaki in the epilogue. Odagiri jokes that they should marry already, and Itou immediately dismisses the joke, but it's not clear if she was annoyed by the suggestion that she would want to date Tsubaki, or if she's annoyed that Odagiri is meddling in their already existing relationship.
* InconsistentSpelling: In Japanese, a U after an O indicates a long "O" sound instead of a long "U" sound as typically seen in English. Because of this, the official translation initially spells her last name "Ito" in the weekly chapters, but when the chapters are later compiled in volume form, the spelling is changed to the original Japanese "Itou".
* InformedFlaw: The character recaps at the start of the volumes often state that she's an idiot. Though her passion for supernatural phenomena can [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} make her stuck in her own little world]], nothing she does in the series make her seem ''stupid'' per se, and she can easily be sharp and analytical when she wants to, if not to the same degree as Shiraishi.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Let's just say the other club members weren't too fond of her when she joined, but she came around and is entirely capable of being nice though she tends to be too harsh on Yamada like everybody else.
* MasterOfTheMixedMessage: It's fairly hard to tell if she might have an actual crush on Yamada like so many others, or if she just likes having crazy fantasies about him (and everybody else). There's the time when she goes absolutely crazy from the thought of marrying him, and there are other times when she seems fully able to hang out with him platonically.
* MissionControl: In Sarushima's arc, she functions as this together with Sarushima herself. Yamada takes the active role distracting Tsubaki, Itou and Sarushima are at the school providing visions, and Miyamura and Shiraishi are intermediaries.
* MsImagination: Her imagination tends to be absolutely crazy, and there are few situations she can't turn into something sexual or sillily romantic in her mind.
* MotherlySideplait: She has grown her hair into this style in the epilogue. While not a mother (yet), she has certainly become more motherly due to [[TookALevelInKindness taking a level in kindness]] and being very fond of Odagiri's and Ushio's children.
* MuggleBestFriend: She has no powers, yet hangs out with Yamada and Shiraishi who do.
* NeatFreak: Somewhat, especially at her introduction when she insisted on spending the whole day on cleaning the clubroom.
* NippleAndDimed: A bath scene in which she drops her ModestyTowel [[WardrobeMalfunction by accident]] shows that she has no (visible) nipples at all.
* ObliviousToLove: She doesn't seem to get it when Tsubaki is hitting on her.
* OutOfFocus: More screentime than Tsubaki and Hikaru, but her plot importance and appearances are still somewhat limited compared to Yamada, Shiraishi and Miyamura.
* PluckyComicRelief: She can have importance to the plot - it's usually her who makes the others experiment with the witch powers and learn to use them better - but a lot of the time, she's just around for comedy, whether it's bickering with Yamada or believing in weird things.
* PostStressOvereating: Apparently started overeating when under Ichijo's provocation power since she complained about getting fat.
* TheQuisling: PlayedForLaughs when her past self meets Yamada who has traveled back to Hino's past, and she thinks he's an antagonistic alien donning a schoolboy disguise. Her immediate reaction is merrily offering to help him conquer the Earth given that she, as an Earthling, knows how it's done best.
* RedheadsAreUncool: She has dark-reddish hair (the exact shade varies) and initially has no friends because she's seen as weird and because she tells lies about supernatural phenomena.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Shiraishi's blue, since she is HotBlooded and outgoing, while Shiraishi is calm and fairly quiet. They're a unusual example in that they usually get along very well, though.
* RelationshipSabotage: The first thing she does when put under the provocation power is lying to Yamada that Shiraishi is cheating on him with Tsubaki (and tricking Shiraishi and Tsubaki to go shopping together so Yamada can see them together) in order to sabotage their relationship. It's implied that the power enhanced her already existing jealousy and as such she wanted either of them to herself.
* {{Retcon}}: Originally her hair color was closer to a dark magenta and her eyes were blue. On the next few colored pages that Miyabi is featured on, her eyes change to orange and her hair to maroon.
* RomanticSpoonfeeding: When hit by the charm power and infatuated with Yamada, she tries to feed him breakfast by shoving sandwiches in his mouth.
* ShipTease: Through out the story, it is hinted that she actually develops some feelings toward Yamada, but she keeps it to herself because he is in love with Shiraishi which, unfortunately, is one of the emotions that explode when she falls under Ichijo's Provocation Power.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: For one thing, she has stated that she ''doesn't'' like [[AllGirlsWantBadBoys "dark and brooding"]] guys. She is sometimes implied to be a crushing a bit on Yamada who is a real ChickMagnet due to his kind-hearted actions, and in the epilogue, she is implied to be dating Tsubaki who's also a fairly friendly guy.
* SpoonBending: During her introduction, she tries to prove her passion for the supernatural by claiming she can bend spoons. She then takes out a spoon... [[SubvertedTrope and bends it with her hands]].
* {{Squee}}: She's quite likely to squee whenever a new supernatural mystery to be investigated gets her attention.
* TheStoolPigeon: Petty Patty variety, though you could argue that she wasn't all that petty since she felt betrayed. When she finds out about the SchoolClubFront of the Supernatural Studies Club, she soon shares her assumption that Yamada and Shiraishi are an item with the whole school to get back at them. Fortunately, it doesn't work since [[CryingWolf no-one believes her]].
* SweetTooth: Given that she went out of the way to get some candy at the anti-student council rally, it seems like she has one.
* TaremeEyes: Switches between these and TsurimeEyes depending on her mood (TaremeEyes when she's sweet and happy, TsurimeEyes when she's angry).
* TeamMom: A somewhat strict and impatient mom, granted, but she still often plays this role in the club.
* TextileWorkIsFeminine: When preparing for the culture festival, she and Shiraishi did the sewing.
* TinyTyrannicalGirl: She's not really tiny, but she's still the shortest member of the club and the most bossy one by a stretch.
* TookALevelInKindness: In the epilogue, she seems to have gotten rid of her hot-tempered side, appearing much more easygoing. She has even become a CoolTeacher to her students.
* {{Tsundere}}: When she's having a bad day, she can be of the "Harsh" variant towards Yamada and sometimes others. Otherwise, she's usually just a more plain JerkWithAHeartOfGold.
* TsurimeEyes: Switches between these and TaremeEyes depending on her mood (TaremeEyes when she's sweet and happy, TsurimeEyes when she's angry).
* UnusualEuphemism: She always refers to certain parts of the male body by the term "supernatural phenomenon between the legs" when she swaps bodies with a boy.
* WeakWilled: Because she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, she's much more susceptible to mind-altering witch powers than most people. The charm power turns her into an AbhorrentAdmirer, and the provocation power made her outright villainous whenever no-one was around to keep a tight rein on her.
* WhatDidIDoLastNight: At one point, she wakes up looking quite hung-over and wonders why she was sleeping on Miyamura's couch surrounded by three guys - but soon realizes that they partied until late last night, crashed at Miyamura's place, and that one of the guys is just Shiraishi in Yamada's body.

!! Kentaro Tsubaki
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kentaro_tsubaki.png]]
-->Voiced by: Toshiharu Sasaki (Japanese), Creator/OrionPitts (English), Creator/CarloVazquez (Latin American Spanish)

The fifth member of the Supernatural Studies Club who joins after the other members prevent him from burning an old school building down ([[RedHerring or at least they think he's the to-be arsonist]]).

He is a rookie member like Yamada, Itou, and Hikaru, as well as the TeamChef.

Ten years later, in the epilogue, he has successfully taken over his father's restaurant.
----
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Even though he found Yamada to be pathetic for playing with dolls, he acknowledged that it was pretty funny, too.
* AdaptedOut: He doesn't appear in the live-action drama because the subplot about the fire in the old school building is taken out.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Other than his crush on Shiraishi, he considers himself very close to Yamada, often hugging him and generally not minding kissing him to test out powers. There's also the scene when he thinks Yamada is making a declaration of love and seems a little sad and embarrassed at having to turn him down.
* AnimalMotifs: He has a slight lion theme going on, having a brash personality (though not [[KingOfBeasts the regal style]] of a lion) as well as being depicted on a cover page with [[AsianLionDogs shisa statues]] and having stayed in Singapore (a country named after lions).
* ArcVillain: Of Sarushima’s arc since he is the one starting the fire that Sarushima gets blamed for, and as such he needs to be stopped. Of course, since he starts the fire by accident in a future he doesn’t know about, he’s completely ObliviouslyEvil.
* BrutalHonesty: He always blurts out exactly what he's thinking as Yamada finds out when he uses Kotori's mind-reading power.
* ButtMonkey: He is a ForgettableCharacter, and he is - especially in Yamada's absence - made to do a lot of work for the club without much recognition.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: He's introduced as a hot-tempered JerkWithAHeartOfGold who [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} has his head in the clouds]]. In later chapters, he's much more of a {{keet}} and at the same much more rational and level-headed. The only thing that really persists is his love for making tempura.
* ChefOfIron: He's the TeamChef, and his fighting skills are great enough that he can beat up Yamada and Miyamura at the same time without any effort.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: The guy cannot be entirely normal when his standard way of comforting himself is frying tempura, and it actually works [[InsaneTrollLogic "because it's Japanese"]]. The fact that he fell in love with Shiraishi just because she gave him a rude answer to a question also suggests that he isn't quite right in the head.
* ComfortFood: Tempura, though it's a variation since it isn't ''eating'' tempura that consoles him - it's ''preparing'' it. His reasons for being comforted by frying tempura are rather nonsensical.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: As shown on the cover of volume 11, he has green eyes.
* ADayInTheLimelight: While the plot in chapter 194 is driven by Itou's quest for love, the chapter is told from Tsubaki's point of view and features his inner monologue.
* {{Delinquent}}: Somewhat at the start, being introduced as an antisocial kind of guy with great fighting skills who hangs out at a pachinko hall. He is revealed to be a fairly harmless loner who is nice enough when you get to know him, though.
* DemotedToExtra: He was never a major character except for in his introduction arc, but he was technically part of the main cast in the first part of the story and thus received a fair amount of screen-time. In the second part, he's - with a few exceptions - more or less become background material. When Yamada returns to the Supernatural Studies Club, Tsubaki's appearances become a bit more frequent, though his actual role is still as small as ever.
* EatingTheEyeCandy: He surely ogles Itou and Shiraishi as they are fishing in a river.
* ForgettableCharacter: He really takes on Tamaki’s role regarding this trope when Yamada and Miyamura return to the club from the student council. The others constantly forget to bring him in on the fun, like body-swap antics and swimsuit shopping.
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: Unlike Yamada and Miyamura, he hasn't seen Shiraishi and Itou kiss, but just like them, he was pretty excited about seeing Itou grope Shiraishi.
* GlobalIgnorance: Despite that the purpose with staying abroad in his childhood was that he should learn more about other countries in an increasingly globalized world, he still has no idea where or even what the River Thames is.
* HasAType: The way he fell for Shiraishi makes it clear that he's into girls who play hard-to-get instead of girls who give him lots of attention. (On a side note, Shiraishi wasn't playing hard-to-get, she was just naturally aloof, but he didn't know that)
* HeirToTheDojo: Heir to the ''restaurant'', anyway. The reason he's so good at cooking is that his dad owns a restaurant with this verse's equivalent of three Michelin stars, and he's expected to take over this restaurant which he eventually does.
* HopelessSuitor: To Shiraishi. To be fair, he fell in love with her when he didn't even know her, his reasons being rather flimsy, while she just saw him as an annoying passer-by. When they got to know each other, Yamada had already won her heart a long time ago. In chapter 194, he shapes up to be this with Itou instead, though the epilogue implies it may not have been hopeless after all.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: With Itou in the epilogue. Odagiri jokes that they should marry already, and Itou immediately dismisses the joke, but it's not clear if she was annoyed by the suggestion that she would want to date Tsubaki, or if she's annoyed that Odagiri is meddling in their already existing relationship.
* InSeriesNickname: Miyamura calls him "Kenken-kun".
* InformedAttribute: He is introduced as Sarushima's good friend, yet the two of them are never seen hanging out. Sarushima's best friend among the main cast is obviously Yamada.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: He accepts that Shiraishi loves Yamada and will be happier with him, though he still has to fry some tempura to console himself.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Just like all of the other club members, he doesn't act like the nicest guy when he is introduced, but he later shows himself to be friendly underneath.
* {{Keet}}: After his CharacterizationMarchesOn, he becomes this, having a very cheerful and eager demeanor.
* KingOfGames: In his first appearance, he shows himself to be an expert when it comes to arcade games, mercilessly beating Yamada in air hockey, whac-a-mole and similar games. He's also very good at video games, and he wins a karuta tournament at the culture festival.
* LeaderWannabe: Shortly after joining the club, he tries to take charge in the conflict against Noa. None of the others take him seriously and angrily make him shut up and show some humility.
* LiteralMinded: When Itou asks Yamada and Miyamura if they finally "went all the way", he obliviously asks "what way?", as if he understands her phrase as them walking on a road.
* LoveConfession: He gives one to Shiraishi (actually Yamada in Shiraishi's body) on their "date". Not reciprocated which really hurts him.
* LoveConfessor: He confesses to Yamada that he is into Shiraishi before he tries to ask out Shiraishi herself, in the hope that Yamada will help him.
* MeaningfulName: ''Ken''taro to ''Ryu'', as a ShoutOut to ''Franchise/StreetFighter''.
* MuggleBestFriend: He has no powers.
* NiceGuy: Later on, when [[CharacterizationMarchesOn he loses his initial temper and eccentricity]], he develops from a JerkWithAHeartOfGold to this trope, being consistently friendly and informal.
* TheNicknamer: Not only calling Miyamura "Miyamu", he has also started calling Hikaru "Pikaru", Ushio "Igapi", Tamaki "Tamakin", and Takuma "Taku-chan".
* NonUniformUniform: He almost never wears the tie of the Suzaku school uniform.
* ObliviouslyEvil: During his introduction arc. He has no idea that his tempura frying is about to burn down the whole old school building and make Sarushima and Yamada ostracized, and he is definitely not the type who would want such a thing to happen even if he knew it.
* OneSidedArmWrestling: He manages to beat Miyamura, who is somewhat taller and bigger, three times in a row in a playful arm-wrestling match. Of course, he had formerly been established to be stronger than Miyamura and Yamada.
* OralFixation: Usually has a toothpick in his mouth.
* OutOfFocus: Even though he technically becomes an AscendedExtra after his introduction arc, it doesn't make him any more important. He gets noteworthily less focus than the Yamada, Shiraishi, Miyamura, and Itou (though more than Hikaru) and often just hangs out in the background, only popping in to provide some comedy.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: He is shorter and not more muscular than Yamada and Miyamura, but stronger than both of them combined.
* PluckyComicRelief: What he has essentially been relegated to after joining the Supernatural Studies Club. He often forms some sort of comedic duo with Itou, though she usually manages to be a bit more relevant to the more serious plot lines than him.
* RealMenCook: He's among only few characters in the series who are known to be good at cooking (the rest are girls), and he tries to teach his skills to Shiraishi.
* RealMenWearPink: Itou mentions that he has a domestic side to him. Overlaps with RealMenCook.
* ShoutOut: He is likely named ''Ken''taro to go with Yamada's Ryu, inspired by ''Franchise/StreetFighter''.
* SixthRanger: He joins the club after the four others have already become an established team and good friends.
* SpikyHair: His hair quickly starts having this style, though it looked more neat and combed in his first few appearances.
* SupremeChef: Everything he cooks is loved by the other club members, often to the point of making them drool. In the epilogue, he even runs a Michelin-starred restaurant.
* TastesLikeFriendship: He tries to invoke the trope by making Yamada tempura shortly after their first meeting to seal their friendship.
* TeamChef: Of the Supernatural Studies Club. Especially during the second witch war, when the remaining members don't look for witches, they are mostly just hanging around and eating the food he makes.
* TenderTears: He's quite emotional and easily cries. It's solely PlayedForLaughs, though.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Tempura in the OVA's. In the manga, tempura is his favorite to cook, but it's not known if it's his favorite to eat.
* TsurimeEyes: Gets them later in the series due to ArtEvolution, possibly as an attempt to make him look a bit more different from Yamada.
* UnwittingPawn: According to Yamazaki, he is a victim of Noa's machinations in the alternate future where he sets fire to the old school building - [[NoodleIncident though any further details are unknown]].

[[caption-width-right:232:[[labelnote:As himself]][[quoteright:212:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hikarusuzuhara.JPG]][[/labelnote]]]]

The sixth member of the Supernatural Studies Club and the only member who’s a first year student. During most of his appearances he’s a rookie member like Yamada, Itou, and Tsubaki, but he helps taking over the club once the third years have to retire.
----
* AgeIsRelative: He's 15, but he looks much younger than that. In his case, it's not only that he's OlderThanHeLooks, but also a device to convey that he's two years younger than the rest of the main cast and thus may look like a child to them.
* AllegedLookalikes: As identical twins, he and Hotaru supposedly look so much alike that you can't tell them apart by just looking at their faces. And while that is indeed true, the series ''in general'' suffers from a case of OnlySixFaces, meaning that the Suzuhara twins are no more identical than a lot of non-related characters from the series, for example Yamada and Tsubaki who also have the exact same face - but for some reason, people don't have trouble telling Yamada and Tsubaki apart.
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: He has an identical twin named Hotaru which explains why he has a quiet and gentle side and a rough side - because they're two different people.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Apparently a default trope for anyone who becomes a member of the Supernatural Studies Club. He is seen fantasizing about being a host with a cute girl by his side, but later, when Shiraishi in Yamada's body zips down his pants to look at his junk, Hikaru also has a curious look.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Being two years younger than the other club members, he quickly comes to be adored as [[AgeIsRelative a cute kid]]. This has the side-effect that he never becomes more than a cute kid to the other members; he's not brought in on the more serious plotlines, and he's not fully considered one of the TrueCompanions, with Yamada not keeping in touch with him after high school.
* BadassAdorable: He's an innocent-looking, young {{Bishonen}}. He's also strong enough to have been beating up thugs and bullies his whole life.
* BecomingTheMask: Initially, he disliked school due to not being the bookish type. He has to pretend otherwise when he impersonates Hotaru, and eventually, he actually ends up enjoying the high school experience.
* BookDumb: Already back in junior high, he mentioned that he wasn't really a "school kind of guy" and would rather work. This holds true when he gets an absolutely terrible score on his first test.
* CharmPerson: His power. Just like Nene, he can make people fall in love with him and do his bidding if he kisses them.
* ChickMagnet: Lots of girls adore him because he looks cute and delicate and because they feel sorry for him for the bruises he get.
* CutHimselfShaving: When the girls in his class ask him why he has a huge bruise on his cheek (from Tacchan punching him), he lies that he fell. Subverted in that the girls actually believe him.
* {{Delinquent}}: In junior high. He had to drop it at school when posing as his brother, but seems to still indulge in some delinquency in his spare time.
* DePower: Along with all other witches, he loses his power after Shiraishi, the "original witch", leaves the school.
* TheDitz: He never manages to come across as particularly bright. [[BookDumb He gets bad grades]] and is often very late to the punchlines whenever the club members joke around.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Both Itou and Miyamura confuse him for a girl because of his slender frame and feminine face, and not even Hikaru taking his shirt off is enough to convince Miyamura who claims that he may just be a flat-chested girl.
* DumbBlonde: He has silvery blonde hair and is clearly the slowest member of the Supernatural Studies Club.
* DumbButDiligent: He's not book-smart and is slow on the uptake in general, but in his later appearances he's almost constantly seen studying eagerly due to his determination to get officially admitted into Suzaku High.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: The rough, book-dumb sibling to Hotaru's smart, kind and responsible sibling.
* FriendlessBackground: Because he always protected Hotaru by fighting, the two never really made friends with others.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: As is typical for identical twins (even though these ones are PolarOppositeTwins), he and Hotaru are each other's best friend and always hang out, the exception being when Hotaru was hospitalized.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: When Hotaru comes to Suzaku High, Itou makes Hikaru wear a sweatband so the other club members can tell the difference between them. In junior high, Hotaru and Hikaru had vastly different hairstyles, making them look just as different from each other [[OnlySixFaces as from any other male character in the series]].
* InSeriesNickname: Tsubaki starts calling him "Pikaru".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He is a delinquent who often gets in trouble, but a lot of it seems to be due to a lack of social skills, and he shows in his loyalty to his brother that he is a very good person.
* {{Keet}}: He often has a curious and excited demeanor (or, at the start, pretends to have, but it seems to become genuine later on) when he's in the club.
* KubrickStare: He creepily looks at Yamada this way when the latter is about to kiss him.
* NoSell: As a witch, he is immune to other witch powers except for the seventh witch's powers and his own if someone with the copy power uses it against him.
* OlderThanTheyLook: His diminutive height and face makes him look more like a middle schooler or elementary schooler than a high school freshman. This is mostly due to a case of AgeIsRelative, but in-universe it's also implied that he hasn't entered puberty yet despite being 15 (Miyamura and Itou confuse him for a girl even after hearing him speak, suggesting his voice hasn't broken).
* OutOfFocus: To a degree that makes Tsubaki - the club's former poster boy for this trope - look significant. Even though Hikaru has joined the club, he has no importance whatsoever after his introductory arc (except that he's needed for the ceremony like the other witches) and only has around a dozen lines for the remainder of the series. He doesn't even get around to use his witch power on anyone.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: He's short and thin (noteworthily smaller than Yamada), but beats up three thugs like it's nothing.
* PolarOppositeTwins: He and Hotaru are like night and day, with Hikaru being a slow-witted delinquent and Hotaru being bookish and hard-working. It's even lampshaded with the exact trope words.
* SheIsTheKing: Gender inverted. Despite being a guy, he’s still called a "witch" ("majo" in Japanese which literally means "magical woman").
* ShirtlessScene: Briefly takes off his shirt and sweater to show Miyamura and Itou that he really is a guy.
* ShonenHair: Before presuming Hotaru's identity, his hairstyle was like this.
* StepfordSmiler: He comes across as a somewhat quiet, yet polite and easy-going guy when he visits the club. When Yamada follows him after school, he shows a much more serious and aggressive side and seems to have a troubled background of some kind. It's later explained that his polite side is because he's pretending to be his much nicer twin brother.
* TinySchoolboy: He's a bit shorter than Itou who used to be the shortest member of the club (and one of the shortest characters in the series) with her 156 cm. Granted, he's two years younger than the other club members, but most other first year boys shown in the series are still noteworthily taller than him.
* TsurimeEyes: The first clue that he isn’t as meek as he seems at first.
* TwinSwitch: He presumes the identity (and hairstyle) of Hotaru who had really looked forward to go to high school when Hotaru is admitted to hospital, just out of brotherly loyalty and to make Hotaru some friends.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Hotaru. He's willing to put up with bullying and harsh beatings every single day just so that he can keep playing the role he promised Hotaru to play.

!! Hotaru Suzuhara
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hotaru_prop.png]]

The identical twin of Hikaru, he is admitted to hospital at his introduction, and his identity is presumed by his brother. When he recovers six months later, he starts at Suzaku High and joins the Supernatural Studies Club along with Hikaru.
----
* AgeIsRelative: He's 15, but he looks much younger than that. In his case, it's not only that he's OlderThanHeLooks, but also a device to convey that he's two years younger than the rest of the main cast and thus may look like a child to them.
* AllegedLookalikes: As identical twins, he and Hikaru supposedly look so much alike that you can't tell them apart by just looking at their faces.
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: He has an identical twin named Hikaru, they distinguish each other by their hairstyles.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Being two years younger than the other club members, he plays this role along with Hikaru. This has the side-effect that he never becomes more than a cute kid to the other members; he's not brought in on the more serious plotlines, and he's not fully considered one of the TrueCompanions, with Yamada not keeping in touch with him after high school.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: The kind and responsible, book-smart sibling to Hikaru's book-dumb, rough sibling.
* FriendlessBackground: Due to being protected by Hikaru, the two never really made friends with others.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: As is typical for identical twins (even though these ones are PolarOppositeTwins), he and Hikaru are each other's best friend and always hang out, the exception being when Hotaru was hospitalized.
* {{Keet}}: Though he does have a responsible side, he's also often innocently cheerful.
* {{Muggle}}: Has no powers.
* NiceGuy: He's usually cheerful, and he's polite and pleasant toward others.
* OlderThanTheyLook: His diminutive height and face makes him look more like a middle schooler or elementary schooler than a high school freshman. This is mostly due to a case of AgeIsRelative, but in-universe it's also implied that his identical twin brother hasn't entered puberty yet despite being 15 so the same would logically be the case for Hotaru.
* OutOfFocus: Just like Hikaru, he joins the club only to not have a speck of plot-importance for the remainder of the series. He's a slightly more justified case as he joins only 10 chapters before the end of the series (right before two plot-lines he realistically can't take part in, namely college preparations and Shiraishi's disappearance), and unlike Hikaru, he has no witch power he can be expected to use.
* PolarOppositeTwins: He and Hikaru are like night and day, with Hotaru being bookish and hard-working and Hikaru being a slow-witted delinquent. It's even lampshaded with the exact trope words.
* SignatureLaugh: An awkwardly polite "he he" ("ehe" in the original Japanese version). It's imitated by Hikaru when Hikaru impersonates him.
* TinySchoolboy: Like his brother, he's a bit shorter than Itou who used to be the shortest member of the club (and one of the shortest characters in the series) with her 156 cm. Granted, he's two years younger than the other club members, but most other first year boys shown in the series are still noteworthily taller than him.
* TwinSwitch: His brother presumes his identity (and hairstyle), when he is admitted to hospital since he had really looked forward to go to high school - just out of brotherly loyalty and to make him some friends.
