After the end of the New Sith Wars, the Galactic Republic once again enjoyed a time of peace with the protection of the [[Characters/StarWarsRiseOfTheEmpireEraJediOrder Jedi Order]]. But this would eventually end when the [[Characters/StarWarsRiseOfTheEmpireEraSith Sith]] would return and manipulate the now-corrupt Republic into going to war with the newly-formed [[Characters/StarWarsRiseOfTheEmpireEraSeparatists Confederacy of Independent Systems]], supplied with a secret clone army to combat the Separatists’ droid forces. Eventually, the Jedi would be wiped out by their own troops during Order 66. In the final hours of the Clone Wars, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine used his dictatorial emergency powers to reorganize the Republic into a new tyrannical regime: the First Galactic Empire.

[[folder:In General]]
* ActionPolitician: Has a fairly sizable amount of these. Padmé, Bail Organa, Jar Jar Bink, etc. all took a very proactive role during the Clone Wars and some of them beyond that by working on deposing the Galactic Empire later on.

!Clone Troopers

[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/clone_troopers_sw_163.jpg]]
!!!'''Species:''' Human (clone)
!!!'''Homeworld:''' Kamino

->'''Portrayed by:''' Temuera Morrison
->'''Voiced by:''' André Sogliuzzo (''[[WesternAnimation/StarWarsCloneWars Clone Wars]]''), Creator/DeeBradleyBaker (''[[WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars The Clone Wars]]'')

Created due to the machinations of Darth Sidious, the Grand Army of the Republic consisted of legions of clones created from the template of the Mandalorian Jango Fett, trained by him and the Cuy'val Dar. While bred on Kamino to be loyal to the Republic (specifically Chancellor Palpatine) above all else, this would only contribute to its fall and the rise of the Sith. Under the Galactic Empire, the surviving clone troopers became the first generation of Imperial stormtroopers, but would later be phased out in favor of non-Fett clones and enlisted recruits.

----
* BadassArmy: Were specifically cloned from Jango Fett due to his skill as a warrior.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Many of the clones and Jedi had problems trusting one another, due to differing loyalties and mentalities.
* UngratefulBastard: As Order 66 is something done of a clone's free will here, the clones ''en mass'' could be considered very ungrateful, as despite the casualties suffered, the Jedi genuinely attempted to do their best to save their men and win each trooper to victory.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: They are genetically modified to age twice as much as normal humans. While this was rectified thanks to research done by the Kaminoan Ko Sai, few clones were able to receive the cure due to her dying and the information being secret.

!!ARC Trooper Captain Alpha-17

An Alpha-class ARC Trooper that often served alongside Anakin and Obi-Wan.
----
* BlueIsHeroic: {{Subverted}}. His main colour is blue, a standard ARC Trooper decal, but the jury's out on how heroic he actually is in spite of his allegiance to the Republic. If anything, it reflects his cold, detached approach to his work.
* BloodKnight: Alpha ''loves'' to take the most violent and destructive course of action, mostly because he believes it to be efficient.
* BreakingOldTrends: Thanks to Anakin naming him and emphasizing the importance of identity, Alpha helps set the trend for the entire clone army to get nicknames for themselves, with him naming many of them, beyond just the 501st.
* {{Foil}}: Primarily to the Jedi characters. Alpha's highly pragmatic, amoral approach to warfare frequently clashes with the Jedi's holistic, MartialPacifist philosophy. Understandably, Alpha gets along with Anakin Skywalker, a maverick with a similarly "un-Jedi-like" approach to things, better than any other general.
* GoodIsNotNice: Like many ARC Troopers, Alpha is an absolute hardarse with barely any moral compunctions. While this makes him a [[CombatPragmatist cunning, ruthless soldier]], it routinely puts him at odds with his Jedi superiors. Although he is on the Republic's side, Alpha's history of committing brutal war crimes with zero remorse often throws the 'good' part of this trope into question.
* RetiredBadass: After he's rescued from being tortured by Ventress, he gets transferred back to Kamino as the lead training instructor for other clones. However, he did still perform field tasks such as helping hunt down Ventress during the Outer Rim Sieges.
* TheUnfettered: If there's a shortcut to absolute victory that may involve committing some dodgy, morally questionable actions, Alpha-17 won't hesitate to take it.
* UncertainDoom: He was last seen being loaded onto a transport that was [[spoiler: commandeered by Asajj Ventress, heading off into the unknown.]]
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: He was almost featured ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars'', but after Lucas realised that nearly all the main characters would have names starting with "A" (Anakin, Ahsoka, Artoo, Asajj), Alpha was replaced by an original character, Captain Rex.

An ARC Trooper who led the Muunilinst 10, an elite group of ARC troopers and regular clone troopers. He participated in the Battle of Muunilinst, the Battle of Hypori, and the Battle of Coruscant.
----
* AFatherToHisMen: When he is awarded a medal after the Battles of Muunilinst and Hypori, he instead bestows it upon one of his men that died at Muunilinst.
* BadassInDistress: Downplayed. While calling for back-up during the Battle of Coruscant, he pauses midway to fire at an approaching super battle droid that just shot down his men, then ''ram his rifle into another super battle droid [[NoKillLikeOverkill while still firing]]'', before proceeding to ''throw his rifle at another super battle droid'', then pulls out his pistol and starts ''dual-wielding'' a fallen clone's rifle and his own pistol while ordering his men to fall back.
* BigDamnHeroes: He and the Muunilinst 10 arrive to Hypori just in time to stop Grievous from killing the rest of the Jedi survivors.
* CommandingCoolness: He has little characterisation beyond being incredibly badass (see above).
* TheFaceless: The only time we see him without his helmet is from behind as he puts it on.
* GunsAkimbo: In the earlier days of the war, he carries twin DC-17 hand blasters as his weapons of choice. During the Battle of Coruscant, he briefly dual wields a fallen comrade's DC-15A Blaster Rifle while using his pistol in order to fight off some B2 Battle Droids when his sector is being overrun.
* GunTwirling: Does it a few times, as expected for a badass with dual pistols as his weapon of choice.
* HoldTheLine: Stands his ground against the hordes of battle droids on Coruscant, ordering his men to fall back as he waits for Yoda to arrive.
* TheQuietOne: Rarely ever talks, even preferring to use hand signals while ordering his fellow clone troopers.
* RedIsHeroic: His main color is red, which is one of the colors that ARC troopers get to have.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: The last time we see him is fighting alongside Yoda and Windu during the Battle of Coruscant.

-->''"Get the order and execute it. Let the generals sort out the rest."''

----
* AmbiguousSituation: Whether or not he and General Secura were an item was unclear, all that's known is that they were very close.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: He has a scar over his left eyebrow.
* ShootTheDog: He was in a relationship with Aayla, however, he ended up killing her in the blink of an eye upon order 66 being issued. It really stands out, considering that clones with platonic relationships with their Jedi chose to defect rather than carry out the order.
* StarcrossedLovers: He and Aayla became increasingly close as the war went on, but unfortunately, Bly was loyal to the Republic in the end as he follows orders to gun her down during Order 66.
