The main protagonist. He was once a sweet and innocent kid yet his childhood was a living nightmare no thanks to a gang of five bullies. Yet he firmly believe if he just shrugged it off, they would eventually grow bored and leave him alone. But that all changed when the bullies took it out against his own family; Uruma couldn’t stand it anymore and thus trained under the tutelage of his WWII veteran grandpa and enact his revenge against all that wronged him.
----
* AffablyEvil:
** Shed tears for [[spoiler: Anzai Zenichi]] after telling him that he must kill Kyou. Uruma was not insulting Anzai's death, unlike Kuga who insulted [[spoiler: Anna's]] death after killing her.
** After knocking both [[spoiler: Oota]] and [[spoiler: Mizuki]] out due to his desire to confront Jun, he apologizes to them both before and after knocking them unconscious.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: To simply put, his GangOfBullies ruined his childhood for the heck of it, having a FriendlessBackground certainly didn’t help much either. [[TheDogBitesBack Until he fights back.]]
* AncestralName: He shares the same name with his grandpa, Shun Uruma, Sr.
* AntiHero: Due to his quest for revenge, he becomes this as he vows to torture and kill the bullies who made his life a living hell. In addition, he’s also more than willing to kill anyone who gets in his way, but horrified when innocent people do end up in the crossfire. At the end of the day, he genuinely wants to get rid of the bullies not only for his sake but also for the sake of other's innocent lives as well.
* BadassBoast: Usually delivers one before he torture the bullies.
* BadBadActing: When his classmates decide to do a performance of Theatre/RomeoAndJuliet for the SchoolFestival, he and Kaname are [[GotVolunteered more or less forced to take the lead roles]]. His terrible acting annoys the heck out of several of the students, but the only reason that’s keeping him from being replaced is because [[SchoolIdol Kaname]] has A LOT of fanboys, but they allowed Uruma to play as Romeo in order to keep the peace with each other. Uruma does seem to grow out of it when acting together with Kaname.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He tried his best to put up with all of the tortures his bullies would put him through without ratting them because he didn’t want to trouble his parents and believed the bullies would eventually get bored and leave him alone. For the most part, he can be a sweet yet quiet kid, even under the brutality of Kyou’s gang, until he finally snaps and tortures each of them to death over what they did to his family.
* BigBrotherInstinct: The bullies made a fatal mistake when Kyou beats Kakeru into a coma and mocked his conditions.
* BringMyBrownPants: Has his when he was bullied by Kyou and his gang of bullies at the age of 12. Justified because Kyou was strangling him. This prompts Kyou to get off him before the [[EnfantTerrible little monster]] had the chance to kill him.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "I won't let anyone take this revenge away from me."
* CharacterDevelopment: The death of his parents and his Grandpa's training turned Shun from a sweet kid into a mission-oriented killer. And once his revenge scheme gets going, Uruma eventually changes from someone who only cared about avenging himself to someone who cares about the lives of other people, which makes him different from the villains in the series as they only care for no one but themselves. If anything, it shows how compassionate Uruma has become over time. Furthermore, he went from only wanting to avenge the abuse he and his family went through to avenging other people, whether he himself is involved or not.
* CluelessChickMagnet: He’s attracted quite a number of girls, even more so after the timeskip. And he’s often not aware of this, but becomes bashful once the girls spell it out to him.
* CoolBigBro: Is definetely one for his younger brother, Kakeru.
* ColdBloodedTorture: His favorite method of revenge is this.
* TheDogBitesBack: After suffering in silence from his bullies’ beating the ever living shit out of him for who knows how long, he finally has enough when they killed his parents and beat his brother into a coma and vows to kill each and every one of them for what they did.
* EasilyForgiven: Despite what Uruma did to [[spoiler: Anzai Zenichi]] when he was a teenager, Oota no longer holds a grudge towards Uruma and simply moves on from the past.
** Downplayed with [[spoiler: Anzai Mizuki]]. While she understands that Uruma may be battling a greater evil than himself, she still doesn't forgive him for what he did to [[spoiler: her husband]]. Despite this, she doesn't seem to be as angry at Uruma following the incident with [[spoiler: Jun]].
* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite being a serial killer, Uruma has MANY standards that he won't cross:
** He would never resort to raping any women as he knows how [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil messed up it is.]] He was even shocked when people like [[spoiler: Karen]], [[spoiler: Kaname]], and [[spoiler: Anna]] have became victims of such crimes.
** He does not target any innocent people. Justified, as he only targets those who are truly the worst people in the world (especially Kyou, who made everyone's lives a living hell).
** He would never resort to hurting any children. Justified, as he has younger brother who he cares for, explaining his compassion towards them.
** He would never make others suffer just for the sake of his own entertainment, which is a stark contrast to villains like Senkouji, Ushirou, Madoka, Kuga, and the Revolution Club, who commit those actions [[ForTheEvulz for the sake of their own twisted entertainment]].
* {{Foil}}:
** To Kyou Shigoku: While both boys are of the same age, there is a considerable difference among the two. As Uruma is a murderous and vengeful, yet socially-awkward hero with barely any friends in his life, Kyou is a charismatic and cultured, yet cunning and abusive sociopath and prodigy with a cult dedicated to him. In addition, as Uruma is more than willing to have his hands dirty in order to accomplish his quest for revenge, Kyou would rather follow [[UsefulNotes/CharlesManson Charles Manson’s]] example and have his underlings commit many of the crimes he orchestrated just to see HOW he can become a killer WITHOUT having his hands dirty. Also, while Uruma values human life, Kyou does not have any regard for humanity in its entirety. While Uruma is shown to care for his family and friends, Kyou has little to no regards for the deaths of his family and friends as he would prefer to sit back and see how the events following his murder of Uruma's parents would play out.
** To Anzai Zenichi: While both of them have murdered their bullies in the past, there is some differences among them. As Anzai Zenichi is [[AntiHero set on a redemption arc by trying to prevent Uruma from becoming like him in his past]], Uruma does not want to stop his quest of revenge as he wants to have his bullies killed.
* GoodIsNotNice: Although Uruma may be the hero among a lot of his bullies' victims due to killing off those monsters responsible for everyone's tragedies, he can be very cold towards many people.
** Uruma blackmails Azuma into NOT disclosing any information about his torture and eventual murder of Senkouji to the police, or else he would kill her.
** Uruma can also be very cold towards the police as he LITERALLY announces his intention on killing the bullies, which could have landed him in jail had Anzai not been the compassionate police officer we knew him to be. Despite this, Anzai Zenichi [[HiddenHeartOfGold is concerned over Uruma's fall to darkness, thus prompting the detective to check up on the boy]].
** Uruma is more than willing to fight fire with fire with his bullies. [[TheDogBitesBack Justified, as they made his life a living hell]], so he has no qualms of torturing them to death.
* GottaKillThemAll: Sums up his modus operandi in a nutshell.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: Downplayed. Although he does get arrested for five years with the media even accusing him of being a criminal, nobody in the city antagonizes Uruma, simply treating him in the same way they treat other strangers.
* TheHunterBecomesTheHunted: Once the bullies most favorite target, he finally decides to fight back and hunt them all down one by one after what they did to his family. Considering what kind of hell he’s been through, from being tied up and shot at with a BB gun, strangulation, sodomy, and other grisly tortures, it’s no wonder he snaps and goes after them.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Despises his bullies for killing his loved ones when he killed Anzai Zenichi, who Oota loved in a specific way.
* IdentityAmnesia: It’s revealed that he lost his memories as a result of [[spoiler: Jun]] indirectly causing his amnesia during the 5-year timeskip, yet the former still holds onto his strong hatred of Kyou.
* KarmaHoudini: Manages to avoid getting arrested for his murder of Anzai Zenichi…
** KarmaHoudiniWarranty: [[spoiler: Until it was revealed that Anzai placed a voice recorder on the side of the shack while approaching Uruma in the case that he gets hurt by anyone. The moment Oota finds it and play the entire recording, she immediately goes to arrest Uruma.]]
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: While Uruma may commit morally questionable acts, unlike most villains, he doesn't go to the extreme and hurt others out of sheer sadism. If anything, he only targets criminals and psychopaths. Justified due to the suffering he endured and his desire to make the lives of others better.
* LonersAreFreaks: His classmates and even his teacher in high school sees him as this because he preferred to sleep in the middle of class and kept to himself. Justified because he cares more about getting his revenge on the bullies than making any friends. It wasn’t until he met Azuma, reuniting with [[ChildhoodFriends the Shirakawa twins]], and preparing for the SchoolFestival did he start to open up more.
* NiceGuy: Before the bullies killed his family, [[UsedToBeASweetKid Uruma was a kind-hearted and well-adjusted kid who wouldn't hurt a fly]]. The bullies's crimes and his 4 years of training have turned him into a antisocial and mission-oriented killer, but [[PetTheDog there are moments that show that his good heart still bleeds red]], and he tends to treat people that aren't on his shit-list quite well, if in a reserved manner.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Is usually at the receiving end of this as a kid by Kuga. [[ExtremeMeleeRevenge He will eventually return the favor and kill Kuga for it.]]
* PetTheDog: There plenty of moments that show that, despite all the horror and violence that followed him, Shun is still [[NiceGuy a fundamentally good person at heart]].
** While it was partially motivated by him wanting to test his skills, he saved Azuma from her rapist-would-be.
** Uruma was actually quite willing to forgive and reconnect with Senkouji when it appeared that he had changed his ways, and visibly enjoyed being on his presence. [[spoiler: However, Senkouji hadn't changed at all, and Uruma kills him for it latter.]]
** Uruma [[spoiler: delivers Karen's suicide letter to her parents after her and Ushiro's deaths.]]
** [[spoiler: During the first Kyou arc, when Uruma discovers that Jun was the one that sold him and his family out, instead of being angry or lashing out, Uruma instead tries to reason with him and break him out of Kyou's manipulation.]]
* PrettyBoy: He’s won over the affections of Kaname and Azuma for his handsome features. Even one of Azuma’s friends admits he’s kinda cute, but [[LonersAreFreaks put off for being a loner.]] He even managed to convince Anna that he was a girl when he crossdress as "Urushibara".
* RelativeButton: For the love of all that is holy, [[TakeOurWordForIt DO NOT INSULT OR HARM HIS FAMILY]], or you WILL learn the consequences.
* RapeAndRevenge: He does both versions of this.
** First, there’s him paying back Ushiro for sodomizing him by torturing him with the pear of anguish. But he doesn’t outright kill him. He saves that for Ushiro’s former captive, Karen, [[DoWithHimAsYouWill and kill him SHE DOES.]]
** [[spoiler: He’s '''''furious''''' when he finds out that Madoka had brutally raped Kaname and makes him [[KarmicDeath pay the price]] for what he did to her.]]
* SociallyAwkwardHero:
** He may be hellbent on his rage-fueled revenge against his bullies and torture each of them to death as payback without even flinching, yet he turns into a NervousWreck of a ShrinkingViolet whenever it comes to ANY shred of intimacy towards other girls.
** This may have to do with him being so focused on training under his grandfather’s wing, as he’s taken aback when Azuma suddenly kisses him by surprise and [[AccidentalPervert accidentally groping Kaname’s chest.]] [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere His immediate response is to run out of the scene like a bat out of hell.]] Both of these times are followed by a ImagineSpot [[ItMakesSenseinContext of his grandpa as the solar system itself!]]
** When Kaname gives him her LoveConfession and leaves, he freaks out over what to do and [[ICantBelieveaGirlLikeYouWouldNoticeMe is utterly bewildered that a beautiful girl like her would ever be interested in]] [[LonersAreFreaks someone like him.]]
* StressVomit: [[spoiler: He’s so horrified and guilt-ridden when he sees the aftermath of Madoka’s assault on Kaname that it makes him puke.]]
* TrueCompanions: With Kitami and Mimi. After he’s lost his memories, he randomly walks in on Kitami in the middle killing off a cruel client, but rather than LeaveNoWitnesses, he nurses him back to health and hires him in his SerialKillerKiller business. Kitami and Mimi treat him very kindly and even organize a birthday for him on the anniversary of the day they met. Once he does regain his lost memories, Uruma insists on leaving them out of his RoaringRampageOfRevenge, but Kitami and Mimi immediately refuses to follow on his word while making it perfectly clear they’re with him till the end. Uruma is grateful for this and decides right then and there to change his actual birthday to the one his friends gave him.
* UngratefulBastard: Downplayed.
** While he is appreciative of his allies for their kindness, his murder of [[spoiler:Anzai Zenichi]] more-or-less makes him this after the cop offered him a chance to redeem himself instead of arresting him. However, Uruma makes it clear to him that he needs to kill one more person (Kyou), leaving a heartbroken [[spoiler: Anzai]] to regret not having saved Uruma from the path of darkness.
** Knocks both [[spoiler: Anzai Mizuki]] and [[spoiler: Oota Asako]] out after they saved his life from [[spoiler: Jun]] and his goons who attempt to murder him. However, Uruma does apologize to the cops before confronting [[spoiler: Jun]].
* WouldHitAGirl:
** Threatens to kill Azuma should she rat him out to the cops. But she remains loyal to him, so he refuses to follow to his word.
** [[spoiler: He gives a brutal kick to the face at Kyou’s underling, Momoki, hard enough to maybe knock her out or outright kill her. Justified because she was a [[AssholeVictim monster of a bitch]] who killed Kaname and helped kidnap and threaten to kill Kakeru while using him as a HumanShield.]]
** Knocks [[spoiler: Anzai Mizuki]] and [[spoiler: Oota Asako]] out after they rescued him from [[spoiler: Jun]] and his goons attempting to kill them after [[spoiler: Jun]] had his way with a doppelganger resembling [[spoiler: Azuma Chizuru]] before offing [[spoiler: her]].
* YouKilledMyFather: What finally breaks the camel’s back from his bullies torment is when they killed both of his parents.

Uruma’s paternal grandfather and legal guardian, he was once a WWII soldier and a member of a top secret unit under the imperial army. When he finds out what his eldest grandson’s bullies did to his parents and little brother, he readily agrees to train him from what he learned from his war days so that his grandson can one day avenge their family and pay back all his bullies in their own blood.
----
* AllForNothing: [[spoiler: He sacrifices himself after shielding Kakeru from Andou's chainsaw before succumbing to his death. Sadly, Kyou ended up delivering the final blow to the young child, making his effort into saving him for nothing.]]
* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler: Unfortunately, Gramps had to hack off his right foot (bound to a chain) [[PapaWolf to rescue Kakeru in time.]]]]
* AntiHero: Training Uruma to torture his victims asides, he used to be a member of the 78th Kitayama Corps during World War II. This gets him alienated from his son as a result.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: [[spoiler: Ends up get sliced from a chainsaw all thanks to Andou's attempt on killing Kakeru.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite training his grandson to exact his revenge on his bullies, he also ensures that his grandson refrains himself from hurting those who are either innocent or redeemed.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: His first name is yet to be revealed. Thus, he’s only referred to as “Grandpa” or “Gramps” by his family.
* GreaterScopeParagon: Is the reason why Uruma is able to finish off the bullies in a badass fashion after Uruma's declaration of revenge on them.
* NotEvilJustMisunderstood: [[FaceOfAThug He may appear scary-looking]], along with his grandsons warned to stay away from him, but it turns out he genuinely does love them. He also never held any ill feelings towards his son and daughter-in-law for not allowing him to interact with his grandsons in the first place over their fear of him.
* OldMaster: Having served in the Kitayama Corp, it's no wonder why he's been able to train Uruma in the art of torturing his victims, as well as training the teenager in martial arts! [[spoiler: He even knocks down Andou Midori and Nogi Takashi, two of Kyou's researchers, onto the ground before they had their way with Kakeru!]] So much strength for someone in their 60s-80s!
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: His son was murdered by Kyou's gang. He also would have outlived his youngest grandson had Kakeru not survived.
* PapaWolf: When Uruma reveals what the bullies have done to him and are responsible for the murder of his son, daughter-in-law and beating his youngest grandson into a coma, he immediately agrees to train him in the ways he has been trained as a soldier so that his eldest grandson will avenge their fallen family.
** He personally killed Madoka, who played a major role in the fatal car crash of his son’s family, by tricking him into thinking he’s Kyou before finishing him off for good.
** When it’s revealed he’s been kidnapped by Kyou’s cultists but then hears Uruma scream in terror. He frees himself from his restraints rushes out and knocks out both Andou Midori and Nogi Takashi before the former had the chance to saw off Kakeru's left leg. He then frees Uruma from Miguel’s vice grip on him, then killing the bigger man the very second he threaten to kill his eldest grandson.
* PosthumousCharacter: Of the Andou arc.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: His failure to stop the Revolution Club members only gave them enough time to kidnap Jun himself and brainwash him into their own minion again...

The youngest son of the Uruma family, he and his older brother are extremely close until the fatal crash that killed their parents and crippled him into a coma, no thanks to Kyou and his underlings.
----

* AnArmAndALeg: Kakeru loses his right leg in Chapter 72 as Uruma lost to Jun in the first round of "Rock, Papers, Scissors".
* BreakTheCutie: The car crash that murdered his parents the coma that Kyou placed him in are both enough to traumatize the poor kid. Keep in mind that he was 6 WHEN IT HAPPENED.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: Is very kind towards both his older brother, Shun and their parents. He was even happy when his brother showed him a abandoned kitten that they wanted to care for.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: [[spoiler: If getting placed in a coma by Kyou wasn't enough, he gets stabbed to death by Kyou, effectively turning Shun onto their captors, [[TheGlovesComeOff WITH THE CLAWS OUT AT FULL FORCE.]]]]
* ScarsAreForever: His body and face are covered in scars when Kyou beats him with a rock, the burns he got from when Kyou set the car crash on fire, and the surgeries he went through.
* WhamEpisode: He finally wakes up in chapter 65. And in the following chapters afterwards shows he’s heavily traumatized from what he has seen from Kyou’s brutality.

The parents of Shun and Kakeru. They moved into the country side so they can stay close to their father and father-in-law’s residence in order look after his health, even though they forbid their sons from interacting with him because they’re afraid of him.

----

* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: Both are killed because of the deadly car crash instigated by Kyou, the ringleader of their eldest son’s bullies.
* FromBadToWorse: Picture one of your own children confess that they’ve been horrifically bullied by a pack of sociopathic kids but your own kid refuse to name-check any of the bullies in fear of their retaliation. So you move away and transfer your child to a new school, hoping that all your problems are over and your kids are safe. Then the bullies murders you and beaten your other child into a coma.
* GoodParents: They love their sons greatly, yet they’re disturbed by Gramps and forbid their boys from interacting with him.
* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: For what little was shown, they were such a loving set of parents who wanted what was best for their boys and [[MamaBear tried to]] [[PapaWolf protect their]] firstborn son when they find out he’s been bullied. This lead to a early death from the bullies themselves.

[[caption-width-right:1000:[[Creator/WilliamShakespeare Hell is empty and all the devils are here.]]]]
----
* AssholeVictim: Uruma soon kills each and every one of them as slowly and gruesomely as possible, to pay back all the hell they have given him and his family. And they all deserved it.
* ForTheEvulz: All of them '''''relish''''' in this trope and [[EvilFeelsGood love every second of it.]] They have no other reason to bully Uruma and terrorize everyone else because it’s fun. Well that and to study how much bullying he can take before he’s DrivenToSuicide, but that hardly counts as an excuse.
* HateSink: For all their crimes that they have committed, they definitely fit this trope. Not only did they mistreat 12-year-old Uruma Shun, who tried his best to forgive his tormentors as much as possible, only for them to orchestrate an incident that took the lives of parents before beating his younger brother into a coma! And if that wasn't enough, they grew up to be criminals who commit acts of animal cruelty, kidnapping, abuse, or sexual assault, yet [[VillainsWithGoodPublicity they don't even get]] [[PoliceAreUseless hunted down by the police.]] [[KickTheDog And they do all]] [[ForTheEvulz of this evil shit]] [[Film/TheDarkKnight just so they can to watch the world burn!]] Due to their irredeemable personalities, it should come to no surprise when [[TheDogBitesBack Uruma kills his bullies out of rage.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: To consider them as such is an {{Understatement}}!
* KickTheDog: Oh boy, '''''where do we BEGIN?!'''''
** Senkouji Katsumi:
*** Shot Uruma with a BB Gun in their childhoods.
*** Faked his redemption to Uruma and kidnaps him and Azuma before torturing the former!
*** [[BadPeopleAbuseAnimals Chokes a cat that he cared for before murdering it]]!
*** Insult Uruma's family when it's Uruma's turn to torture Senkouji, resulting in the latter's death.
** Ushiro Yuuga:
*** Kicked Uruma while riding on a bicycle in their childhoods.
*** Molested Uruma in their childhoods, causing the young boy to cry.
*** Bit the tongue of a prostitute before holding a lighter under it simply because [[DisproportionateRetribution she wanted to leave her job and go to university]].
*** Kicked a man for not paying for his services.
*** Kidnapped and chained Karen up while raping her many times for a year.
*** Attempted to kill Azuma Chizuru after [[SheKnowsTooMuch confirming her as the witness to his crimes]] before sending out his minion, Ganno, to finish her off.
** Madoka Hiro:
*** Kicked Uruma in the stomach in their childhoods.
*** Abused a child [[DisproportionateRetribution for staring at him in the first place]].
*** Force-fed another child a poisonous liquid just because he [[MisplacedRetribution resembled the same kid he attacked earlier]].
*** Taunted Uruma about his family just to get a rise out of him.
*** Nearly tricked an entire class into drinking his poisonous "coffees" JUST to lure Uruma out.
*** [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil When it came to his assault on]] [[spoiler: Kaname]], he did some nasty things to her:
*** [[WouldHitAGirl Punched her across the face simply because she tried to resist his sexual advances]].
*** [[IfICantHaveYou Threatening to stab her with an ice pick to death]] if she continued to resist his sexual advances.
*** [[WouldHitAGirl Slapped her across the face to get a response from her after raping her]].
*** Yelled at Uruma to not call [[spoiler: Kaname]] by her first name and proclaims her as his woman, viewing her more as his property than a human being.
** Kuga Daichi:
*** Used Uruma as a punching bag for his "judo" sessions in their childhoods.
*** Kicked something out of Uruma's hands while berating him in class.
*** Injured many of his male peers severely under the guise of practice.
*** Raped many of his female peers.
*** Regularly abused Anna for no apparent reason [[spoiler: before eventually killing her]].
*** Beaten Uruma to a bloody pulp after tying him up before attempting to use him as a "training kit" for his planned assault on Shigoku Kyou.
** Shigoku Kyou:
*** Asides from turning all of his friends into the monsters they are, he even went as far as nearly choking Uruma to death with a judo move!
*** Kills the cat that Uruma had been taking care of before telling him to find it in a forest, traumatizing the young boy.
*** Shoves his friend, Madoka Hiro, in front of a car that Uruma's parents and Kakeru were in before turning the car turned in a different direction, killing the parents and injuring Kakeru.
*** Beats Kakeru into a coma before setting the car he and his parents are in on fire!
*** Kills a crow for no reason.
*** Ignored Madoka Hiro from time to time due to his lack of empathy for the young boy.
*** Recruits [[spoiler: Jun]] at a time in which he [[spoiler: mistakenly believed Uruma raped his sister.]]
*** Runs a cult dedicated to not only ruining the lives of many innocent people, but also those of the members.
*** Appears at the hospital Kakeru is in (presumably due to Jun's disclosure of the location) before revealing himself and attempting to choke Uruma, causing him to fall into a [[HeroicBSoD trauma]] before leaving.
*** Has [[spoiler: Kaname]] brutally butchered, sending [[spoiler: her brother]] into [[HeroicBSoD despair]] after seeing her body.
*** Killes [[spoiler: Kakeru]] with a knife in front of Uruma, causing his grandfather's attempts to save [[spoiler: Kakeru]] to be [[AllForNothing meaningless]].
*** Taunts Uruma before escaping from the police.
*** Tricks a kid into committing suicide.
*** Punishes the surviving cultists following the assassination of [[spoiler: Andou]] and [[spoiler: Kurusu]] by having them tortured and mutilated.
* KidsAreCruel: They make Film/ChildrenOfTheCorn look like preschoolers in comparison. '''''And THAT’S saying something!''''' Of course they don’t stay kids forever, but don’t change their vicious attitude, which leads to them becoming…
* TeensAreMonsters: As if they weren’t bad enough as kids, the bullies themselves have grown up as either gangsters, rapists, or animal abusers and go out of their way to terrorize anyone within their line of sight just for the sheer heck of it.
* VillainsWithGoodPublicity: Varies within the bullies.
** Senkouji Katsumi: His [[FauxAffablyEvil friendly demeanor]] allows everyone to view him as more of a kind and easy-going individual instead of a monster.
** Ushiro Yuuga: Everybody from his school thinks that he is an awesome and cool person, yet little do they know that deep down in his heart is a monster who not only holds a prostitution ring where he [[BadBoss treats his employees very badly]], but had also kidnapped and raped a young girl named Karen Sakuraba for a year.
** Madoka Hiro: Downplayed as he doesn't make any efforts into protecting his reputation.
** Kuga Daichi: Downplayed as with Madoka, he also doesn't make any efforts into protecting his reputation, especially when he breaks the bones of his male peers while raping his female peers! It's no wonder why [[TheFriendNobodyLikes everyone hates his guts]] save for his girlfriend, Anna, [[UngratefulBastard whom he regularly abuses]].
** Kyou Shigoku: Not only is Kyou known by everyone to be both a school prodigy and an activist, but he has also amassed a large cult dedicated to him! Worse, due to the reputation he has, it would be hard for anyone to testify against him!
*** This is especially true after five years in which he is not only appearing on television with the reputation of a "social activist" but at the same time, he has 100,000 followers in his cult!
* VillainsWantMercy: Whenever they’re suffering from Uruma’s torture, you can expect the bullies to beg him to stop and let them live. And you can expect THAT to always backfire in the most gruesome way possible.
* WouldHurtAChild: All of them fits this in their own ways...
** Madoka Hiro: Scares a little boy for staring at him before poisoning another teenage boy who resembles him.
** Shigoku Kyou: Beats Kakeru into a coma during his childhood, nearly burns him to death in a fire, had his henchman amputate his right leg, and [[spoiler: stabs him in the chest.]]
* WouldHitAGirl:
** Senkouji Katsumi: When torturing Uruma, he shot several nail tacks at Azuma, nearly injuring the girl had they hit her.
** Ushiro Yuuga: Mistreated his female coworkers and raped Karen after enslaving her for a year.
** Madoka Hiro:[[spoiler: Punches Kaname across the face before slapping her after raping her.]]
** Kuga Daichi: Beats and rapes every woman he encounters (especially Anna Sukisagi).
** Shigoku Kyou: Had [[spoiler: Kaname]] brutally butchered during the "Rock, Paper, Scissors" match between Uruma and Jun.

[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shigoku_kyou_portrait_29.png]]
The leader of Uruma’s hellish GangOfBullies. A truly sociopathic piece of work, he’s hellbent on watching the world burn by manipulating others into liting the match for him instead of getting his hands dirty. Just as it seems like Uruma is on his way to make Kyou his final target in his RoaringRampageOfRevenge, Kyou gains the upper hand with his own literal cult following, The Revolutionary Club. After the time skip, the cult has gained an extremely large following of over a thousand members, and the general public sees him as [[VillainWithGoodPublicity Mr. Perfect]]. Then Uruma comes back for round 2, ever the most determined to enacted his revenge against Kyou for ruining his life and destroying his loved ones.
----
* ArcVillain: Of the Kyou Arc.
* ArchEnemy: Towards [[TheHero Uruma.]]
* AxCrazy: Easily the '''worst''' case of this in the story, which is really saying something. Kyou is little more than a sadistic and delusional sociopath who leads others into doing absolutely horrible things and that treats things like abuse and mutilation as "games".
* BigBad: He is the main reason why all the events in the series happened. From manipulating a lot of people, including the bullies [[HateSink who, ironically, are no better than him due to the crimes they committed]] to participating in indirect murders and orchestrating several kidnappings, he is arguably one of the worst villains to have existed in the entire manga.
* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: He plucks off the feathers of a crow and then strangles it when he grew bored of it.
* CultOfPersonality: He's the leader of the Revolutionary Club, a group of like-minded scumbags who all but worship him.
* DirtyCoward: [[spoiler: Rather than face off against Uruma solo as his former victim has done with the rest of the bullies, he decides to sic on him a new batch of underlings, with Kakeru’s life on the line. Uruma calls him out on this but it falls on deaf ears.]]
* DissonantSerenity: No matter what atrocities he commits, he goes about it in a perfectly calm and logical manner, as if he knew better than anyone else.
* EnfantTerrible: Definitely. He was already an homicidal psychopath at 12, when he carried out the death of Uruma's family.
* FauxAffablyEvil: While Kyou may seem like a nice person on the outside, he has a DARK HEART on the inside as Uruma describes him as "pure evil". This is proven as Kyou is abusive, manipulative, and smug about the crimes he commits.
* ForTheEvulz: In Kyou's mind, the most amazing thing a person can do is kill another person for no reason at all, and that is the goal he's striving for.
* TheHeavy: The most recurring villain of the series and masterminded all of the events in the manga
* {{Hypocrite}}: His main goal in life is to somehow become a killer without getting blood on his hands. Then he decides to orchestrate the murder of Uruma’s parents by pushing Madoka in front of them while they’re driving by the road, leading to them to crash. After beating Kakeru bloody with a rock, he personally sets the car wreck on fire, just to make sure the entire family is dead. While Kakeru managed to survive, Kyou did intend to kill him and is still guilty for murdering the boy’s parents by setting them on fire all by himself. So much for not getting blood on his hands.
** He tells Madoka Hiro to stop bullying a child much younger than him, [[FauxAffablyEvil acting if he became more compassionate over time]], when he himself is no different from Madoka when it comes to his abusive treatment of children, particularly Kakeru. If anything, this was to prevent blowing their cover to the general public of how monstrous they are.
** [[spoiler: He decides to outright murder Kakeru by stabbing him from behind, '''''THEN HE HAS THE AUDACITY''''' to outright belittle Uruma for becoming a monster, who was doing everything he could to avenge his family that KYOU conspired to murder for his own bloodthirsty amusement. Again coming from a guy who doesn’t want to kill because he doesn’t want blood on his hands but wants to make like UsefulNotes/CharlesManson, and order his underlings to do the job for him, only to say “screw it” and go out and kill someone himself. Then he decides to criticize someone for becoming a monster when HE is in no position to criticize who is a monster when Kyou is the devil himself. You can arguably call him the biggest {{Hypocrite}} in this entire manga.]]
* KarmaHoudini: Downplayed. While he has gotten away with most of his crimes for 84 CHAPTERS, he had his right eye slashed in Chapter 85 by Uruma, but not without expressing pleasure...
** By Chapter 86, Kyou manages to escape before Uruma could kill him thanks to Oota's intervention, although his right eye is still bleeding. Despite this, he still avoids facing any charges by the law enforcement for FIVE YEARS as he is still running the Revolution Club.
** By the 100th chapter, the scratch around his right eye has already healed and he does not seem to be bothered by it anymore.
* ManipulativeBastard: It’s because of his brainwashing and teachings that turned the bullies into the way they are. This is why Uruma considers him as his most dangerous enemy of all.
* MeaningfulName: His last name, Shigoku, sounds very similar to "Jigoku", [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast which in Japanese means hell.]]
* NoHistoricalFiguresWereHarmed: He bears many similarities to well-known and feared cult leaders.
** UsefulNotes/CharlesManson: Both manipulates their followers into committing murders under their orders.
** UsefulNotes/JimJones: Once he gains an extremely large following, he sets up an island in the middle of nowhere and hires armed guards to patrol the grounds in case anyone tries to escape, much like how Jones manipulated his follows into joining him to a jungle in the middle of Guyana, and also had his men armed to the teeth in case anyone also tried to escape.
** And finally, Shoko Asahara: Besides their shared Japanese nationality, both maintained a public front, particularly televised interviews, whilst looking like they’re good guys, which won over many followers. Like Manson, both manipulated their followers into committing murders.
* TheSociopath: All the bullies have shades of this, but Kyou is definitively the one who is closest to a textbook example of a high-functioning sociopath. Not only Kyou suffers from a blatant LackOfEmpathy, he is [[ManipulativeBastard highly manipulative]] (to the point is heavily implied the other bullies turned out the way they did because of his influence), hides his evil behaviour behind a mask of [[FauxAffablyEvil superficial charm]] and has no [[DirtyCoward sense of integrity]] or remorse from his many acts of evil. And like many high-functioning sociopaths in RealLife, Shigoku has no FreudianExcuse and has been like that [[EnfantTerrible since childhood]].
* TroublingUnchildLikeBehavior:
** His first scene is strangling Uruma and leads a GangOfBullies into terrorizing him just so they can see how much Uruma can take before he can [[DrivenToSuicide off himself.]] Then there’s him causing the death of his parents and personally beating Kakeru into a coma [[DisproportionateRetribution all because Uruma switched schools in order to get away from Kyou and his underlings.]] His whole motivation? He wants to see if can become a killer without getting blood on his hands. And he’s only 12 years old at the start of the story. Uruma states that he has [[EmptyEyes the same eyes]] as his Grandpa, a WWII veteran and hardened killer by his wartime experiences, to underscore how sincere Kyou is about harming others. [[FridgeHorror Just what the hell happened to him that made him such a monster?!]]
** According to himself, '''''nothing.''''' Nothing at all happened to make him out to be a monster born from abuse. He was purely curious to see if he could make it as killer who was born into a loving family like himself.
* UncannyValleyGirl: A RareMaleExample. Even before one realizes how evil this guy is, there is something incredibly strange and disquieting about him, what with his EmptyEyes, [[DudeLooksLikeALady androgynous appearence]] and [[PerpetualSmiler ever-present smile]].
* VillainHasAPoint: As messed up as Kyou can be, he DOES have a point towards Kuga when he stated that NO ONE should ever be allowed to assault him in any manner. His point can be justified as Kuga later had his way with his cousin, Anna, ALL BECAUSE HE THOUGHT SHE WAS KYOU.

[[folder: Katsumi Senkouji]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/senkouji_katsumi_portrait.png]]

He was an old friend of Uruma, until they meet Kyou, driving Katsumi to become a devoted follower and one cruel animal killer. During high school, he tries to make amends to Uruma, but could he truly trust on what his former friend is saying is true? Definitely not.
----
* ArcVillain: Of the Senkouji Arc.
* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: Uruma believes he was the one who killed a stray kitten he was secretly taken care of because a favorite pastime of his tormentor was to jam bugs into his BB gun and shoot into the air. When he wants to make amends with Uruma, he shows him a stray cat he’s looking after and even saves it from getting run over by a truck. [[BitchInSheepsClothing But this was all a act so he can kidnap Uruma and kill him.]] He then shows Uruma the very same cat he had just saved moments ago and breaks its neck and then shoots at it corpse with a nail gun.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: One day he approached Uruma and tried to apologize for what he did when they were kids. [[WeUsedToBeFriends He even brings up their old friendship before they met Kyou.]] But Uruma is suspicious yet torn if he should believe what he says is true, that someone as evil as Senkouji would turn over a new leaf so suddenly. He was right.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Uruma skins Senkouji when the latter was unconscious after getting choked by Uruma and being tied up by several ropes. In addition, when he notices how [[FlayingAlive parts of his skins are peeled off]], he understandably SCREAMS bloody murder. In addition, when Uruma touches the parts where his skin used to be, HE SCREAMS ONCE AGAIN as those areas are more sensitive to even the SLIGHTEST touch. Then Uruma shoots him with the same BB gun model that Senkouji once used on the him several times, He experienced so much pain that he literally dies in SHOCK as a result.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Senkouji appears to be very kind and friendly towards Uruma during the moment that they had bumped into each other when they first met. The former even took Uruma to other places on an outing just to continue their "friendship". When Uruma questioned him about the events regarding his family's death, Senkouji immediately teared-up and apologized to Uruma for all the pain that he put him through, saving a cat from a truck to prove his redemption. However, Senkouji's true colors would soon be revealed to be that of a monster, shown as when he signaled for Azuma to hold Uruma in his place as he knocks the latter down before kidnapping them and tying them up. He even murders the same cat that he supposedly saved just to prove that his "kindness" was a fake, with his true agenda revealed to be killing him.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: He tries to apologize to Uruma as he’s being tortured for all the hell he had given his former victim; proclaiming that it because of Kyou’s manipulation and teachings that brainwashed him into taking part the bullying and was forced to go along with it. Uruma doesn’t buy it because he knows that Senkouji is lying through his teeth and makes it clear he will NOT spare him from his vengeance.
* FlayingAlive: How he goes out. Well that and dying of shock due to being shot at his sensitive areas with a BB gun.
* HeelFaceTurn: Subverted. Senkouji is pretending to be this since his goal is to capture Uruma and kill him.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Senkouji gets very shocked when Uruma kidnaps him and intends to kill him, even though said former did the same thing to the latter and almost killed him.
* ItsAllMyFault: He goes in his knees and begs Uruma to forgive him for all the bullying he put him through back in the day, blaming himself for what Uruma had to go through. This would soon be subverted, as [[BitchInSheepsClothing he didn’t mean every word because he wants to kidnap and murder him.]] [[TheDogBitesBack But once Uruma has the tables turned,]] he drops it and [[NeverMyFault blames Kyou for making him the way he was]] and [[VillainousBreakdown rages out against him until he dies.]]
* KarmicDeath: Senkouji bullied Uruma by tying him up and shooting him with a compressed air gun. Uruma kills him by chaining him up the ceiling, [[FlayingAlive peeling a large portion of his body]], and shooting him with the same model, causing him to die of shock.
* MoralMyopia: He’s shocked when Uruma kidnaps him, has just [[FlayingAlive flayed him alive]] and intends to kill him. Never mind the fact that he kidnapped Uruma himself because he wants to kill him.
* NeverMyFault: While he’s tortured by Uruma, he blames Kyou for corrupting him and that he was only forced to take part in the bullying, despite the fact that Senkouji enjoyed every second of it with a SlasherSmile and never made any attempt to get the others to stop. When Uruma makes it clear that he’s going to die, Senkouji lashes out at him and blames him for not dying by his hands, even though it’s his fault for kidnapping him first and trying to kill Uruma.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: While Senkouji barely appeared in the manga due to being quickly killed off by Uruma after attacking the latter, his lack of redemption is the main reason why Uruma never gave his bullies a second chance to redeem themselves.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He was once good friends with Uruma until he stopped hanging out with Senkouji because he got creeped out by his cruel and wicked behavior after joining Kyou’s gang.
* VillainsWantMercy: Once he’s at Uruma’s mercy, he tries to apologize for trying to kill him first and go to the police and confess to what he did. When he realizes that Uruma is not taking any more crap from him, [[VillainousBreakdown he rages out at him for not dying by his hands.]]

[[quoteright:900:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ushiro_yuuga_portrait.png]]

One of the most depraved members of the bullies, he leads a teen prostitution ring with an iron fist. He’s also kidnapped his girlfriend, Karen, for an entire year, and has no plans to free her anytime soon. Then Uruma comes into the picture.
----
* ArcVillain: Of the Ushiro Arc.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Uruma tortures him with [[AssShove the pear of anguish]], leaving a VERY bloody mess. Then [[RapeAndRevenge Karen pays him back for all of his abuse]] and pulls out a [[FromBadToWorse mini version of the pear of anguish]] and [[GroinAttack shoves it inside his own dick.]] He then dies of blood loss, with Uruma stomping on his head for extra measure.
* FauxAffablyEvil:
** The moment Ushiro asks a prostitute to follow him outside. As they start making out, [[DisproportionateRetribution he immediately BITES on the prostitute’s tongue, making a hole through it before holding a lighter under it, reminding her of her importance in her job as she cannot freely leave her job for the sake of attending university]]! Although he lets go of her tongue, he hugs her as if it was nothing.
** During a scene in which Ushiro told Azuma that what she witnessed between him and Karen was a play at first, he eventually pulls out a knife [[DisproportionateRetribution JUST TO KILL HER for witnessing the attack]]! Had it not been for the timely arrival of a man, she would have been done for!
* {{Hypocrite}}: Kicks a man for attacking Azuma Chizuru when he did the same to Karen and other prostitutes.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: The only reason he saved Azuma from getting raped by a client is because he didn’t pay him first for her services.
* KarmicDeath: Ushiro loved sex and led a teen prostitution ring; brutalizing anyone who would try to leave. He had even kidnapped and raped his girlfriend, Karen, for an entire year and also once sodomized Uruma out of “sexual curiosity”, when in reality he only did it because Uruma would surely be distressed [[ForTheEvulz but he enjoyed every pain Uruma would go through just cause HE can.]] He is then subjected to the pear of anguish by Uruma, destroying his rectum, while Karen uses an even smaller version of the torture instrument and destroys his penis.
* TooDumbToLive: When Uruma ties him up in a chair, he threatens to kill him and [[SpeakIllOfTheDead trash talks his late]] [[RelativeButton parents and little brother, even proclaiming how sexually gratifying it was to remember his parents deaths,]] without realizing how helpless he is under his former victim’s hands. [[{{Understatement}} He suffers greatly for his poor choice of words and past actions.]]
** He later demands that Karen free him from his restraints so they can kill Uruma together. Keep in mind that this was his girlfriend who he has kidnapped as his SexSlave for an entire year and Uruma had freed her, [[DoWithHimAsYouWill but let’s her decide what to do with her captor.]] Needless to say, [[TheDogBitesBack she didn’t want to take any more of his crap.]]

[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/madoka_hiro_portrait.png]]
One of Kyou’s most loyal lackeys, he’s a religious fanatic who views Kyou as a Devine being to him. He definitely has a lot of screws loose, and [[VillainousCrush has his eyes set on Kaname]], but Uruma has other ideas…
----
* AnArmAndALeg: In this case, it's TWO arms and NO legs.
* ArcVillain: Of the Madoka Arc.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: His thumb nails are torn apart, big toes sliced, and is nearly pulled to death from the rack by Uruma. Then it seems like Kyou swoops in to save him, only to finish the job. Then it’s revealed it was Uruma’s grandpa under a mask and Uruma had him sprayed with some sort of hallucination chemical to hide his gramp’s voice and fool him into thinking Kyou did care enough to save him.
* EntitledToHaveYou: Even though he and the rest of the bullies picked on Kaname when they were kids until they shifted their focus on Uruma, he develops a crush on her when they meet again in their teens and firmly believes she should become “his woman.” Never mind the fact that he personally tried to force-feed her bugs [[EvilCannotComprehendGood yet doesn’t understand why she wouldn’t want to date him.]]
* IronicName: Depending on the kanji, his first name can translate to abundance or generous. Don’t forget that his name literally sounds like the English word for "hero”. [[ObviouslyEvil Needless to say,]] [[{{Understatement}} he’s the least heroic nor generous kind of person you’ll ever meet.]]
* KarmicDeath: Madoka saw Kyou as a divinity. Uruma applies different tortures to him that were used to exorcise demon possessed people. Keep in mind that he’s also [[spoiler: being tortured by the object of Kaname’s affections, the girl he’s brutally raped, [[RapeAndRevenge and Uruma let’s him know WHY he’s doing this in graphic detail.]]]] And then, while tearing off his limbs with the rack, he throws a hallucinogen that makes him see that Kyou knocks Uruma out and comes to save him. Only to continue the torture, smashing Madoka's pedestal. Then it’s revealed that it was Uruma’s grandfather under a mask that made him resemble Kyou, [[PapaWolf so that he can have a piece of him in order to avenge his dead son, his daughter-in-law, and youngest grandson]] in the fatal car crash that Madoka toke part in.
* PosthumousCharacter: Of the Kyou and Jun arcs.
* SmallNameBigEgo: While his name might not sound like a lot, the fact that he has a lot of pride in his actions makes him as such. Especially towards Uruma.
* VillainousCrush: He has a massive, yet '''''EXTREMELY''''' disturbing crush on Kaname, [[SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan but she understandably wants nothing to do with him because she’s in love with Uruma while Madoka and the other bullies tormented her back when they were kids.]]
* {{Yandere}}: He immediately develops a crush on Kaname when they meet again in their teens, and he’s extremely livid when he discovers that Uruma is on good terms with her and vows to kill him, while he’s in the middle of pleasuring himself while imagining Kaname. [[spoiler: He decides to act on his “affections” and rapes Kaname [[SheKnowsToMuch when she walks in on his plans to kill Uruma during the]] SchoolFestival [[IfICantHaveYou and threatens to kill her if she didn’t stop trying to fight him off.]] A couple of chapters later reveal that he’s actually finds it so arousing, that he continues to pleasure himself with the memories of the assault, but sees it as consensual, so he plans to break into her house and have his way with her again! It’s a good thing Uruma refuses to let him get away with it and [[RapeAndRevenge punished him in the worst, but well deserving way possible.]]]]

Captain of the Judo team and a truly a horrific beast of a human being.
----
* AndYourLittleDogToo: When Uruma confronts him and calls him out for the murder of his parents and his comatose brother’s conditions, Kuga laughs it off and declares that after he kills him, he’ll go after Kakeru and kill him as well, just to spite him. [[BigBrotherInstinct Uruma]] [[ColdBloodedTorture makes him suffer dearly for it.]]
* ArcVillain: Of the Kuga Arc.
* AxCrazy: The most physically violent and brutish of the bullies. Beating people, breaking bones, [[SerialRapist raping women]] and killing people with his bare hands; Kuga is not above any of that.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Uruma breaks his joints, nearly feeds him alive to killer shrimp, and then [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beats his face into bloody pulp with a cinderblock.]] [[ExtremeMeleeRevenge And he keeps going on and on long after he passes on, leaving what was once his face now a pile of his own brain bits.]]
* DepravedBisexual: He rapes many of his female classmates and tried to do the same to Kyou when they were kids because he has a crush on him, only to slash his face as a warning NOT to do it next time. After gaining the upper hand from his fight with Uruma and tying him up, he reveals his plans to rape Kyou but wants to “practice” first with Uruma. [[TheDogBitesBack Fortunately for Uruma, he fights him off]] [[CruelAndUnusualDeath and ends his reign of terror, PERMANENTLY.]]
* EvilIsBigger: Both as a child and as an adolescent, Kuga is very big. And he is by far the second cruelest Bully of the group, only surpassed by Kyou.
* FauxAffablyEvil: When Kuga was younger, he offered a lollipop to his future girlfriend, Anna Sugisaki (who happens to be Kyou's cousin from their mother's side) while smiling in a friendly manner. However, his kindness towards her would be fake as he proclaims that his relationship with Anna is one-sided, implying that he never truly loved her to begin with.
* HateSink:Big time, among all the bullies he's the WORST one, a brute, cruel, sadistic, RAPIST, also [[UngratefulBastard an ingrateful monster to his girlfriend]].
* KarmicDeath: Kuga used Uruma as a training dummy for his Judo keys, he was very brutish, liked to attack his club mates, and saw himself as unbeatable in Judo. Uruma defeated him in a Judo match, breaking some of his limbs. Then, he leaves him in a barrel where there are mantis shrimps, crustaceans with a powerful blow that hit Kuga as soon as Uruma puts him in the barrel. Even if he doesn't die from torture, Uruma kills him by smashing his head with a cinderblock in a fit of rage.
* ObviouslyEvil: Seriously, if his hulk-like body figure or scarred face didn’t give it away, maybe his hair literally shaped out as devil horns sticking out at the sides?!
* RasputinianDeath: Out of all the bullies, Kuga got easily the most drawn-out and convoluted death. First, he gets ''brutally'' beaten by Uruma during their Judo duel. Second, he gets lowered into barrel full of boiling water and mantis shrimp (''which have a supersonic natural weapon and cut their way into his skin''). Kuga gets saved from this death trap by Anna, and briefly manages to get the upper hand on Uruma before getting beaten again. Uruma then finishs him of by '''hitting his head with a brick until it completely breaks open'''. [[KarmicDeath Kuga deserved every single one of these things]], but you can't say that he went down easy.
* SerialRapist: Kuga raped several of his female teammates, [[DepravedBisexual and even planned on doing the same to Uruma]] [[EvilVsEvil and Kyou]].
* UngratefulBastard: How does he thank Anna for saving him from Uruma’s torture devices? [[spoiler: he rapes her to death because he started to have hallucinations that she was Kyou]]. Uruma calls him out on this, but his response is to call her feelings as one-sided.

The most popular girl in school and a old childhood friend of Uruma who he forgot about until they met again in high school. She’s a really sweet girl and [[PatientChildhoodLoveInterest wishes she and Uruma can be more than friends.]]
----
* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler:LITERALLY, as she lost a right arm and a left leg by the end of Chapter 74!]]
* BreakTheCutie: As if being a former victim of Kyou’s GangOfBullies wasn’t bad enough, [[spoiler: getting raped by Madoka BROKE her.]] She eventually recovers. [[spoiler: Until Chapter 74 in which Momoki (one of Kyou's researchers behind kidnapping Kakeru and Kaname and the one who possibly mutuliated Kaname) wheels a lifeless Kaname on a large cart with a missing right arm and a left leg.]]
* TheCutie: Very sweet and kind demeanor, with a golden heart to match. [[spoiler: Madoka and Kyou’s cultists [[BreakTheCutie weed it out of her.]]]]
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: [[spoiler: Having her right arm and her left leg chopped off by Momoki as a result of Jun losing 2 rounds is one of the most horrific things that ever happened to her, especially when she has suffered enough. This was ostensibly averted by Chapter 141 as she reappears at the Kitami Clinic for an "incurable disease", only to reveal that said person is actually a look-alike of Kaname.]]
* EasilyForgiven: She admits that due to her budding friendship to Uruma, Kyou’s gang made him their new target, and she feels extremely guilty for moving away not long after this. But Uruma holds nothing against her. Considering how Kyou killed his parents and crippled his little brother into a coma because of him changing his “guinea pig” from Kaname to Uruma, this speaks volumes of how forgiving Uruma is towards Kaname.
* GotVolunteered: She and Uruma are randomly chosen for the lead roles of Theatre/RomeoAndJuliet by their classmates, with no say to the matter. While [[SociallyAwkwardHero Uruma]] is [[ThisIsGonnaSuck horrified,]] Kaname is flustered but secretly happy to pair up together with her crush.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: The volume 7 cover depicts her with blonde hair, along with InnocentBlueEyes to reflect her demeanor and kind heart.
* HeadTurningBeauty: Even Uruma himself seems enamored but shy around her. But a lot of the boys at their school have the hots for her. Unfortunately, so does [[{{Yandere}} Madoka.]]
* InnocentBlueEyes: She’s truly a pure-hearted individual, and the volume 7 cover shows off her blue eyes to back this up.
* NiceGirl: Is genuinely sweet and very kind to everyone.
* NoOneCouldSurviveThat: [[spoiler: Her right arm and left leg are cut off by Kyou’s underlings and left to bleed out, as her brother hugs her lifeless body. Come chapter 141, she comes back alive and well, only to reveal in the next chapter that that "Kaname" isn't the one who was involved in the incident years ago, but rather someone who looks exactly like her and shares the same name.]]
* PatientChildhoodLoveInterest: She’s in love with Uruma ever since they were kids, but wants to wait for his response towards her LoveConfession once the SchoolFestival is over.
* PosthumousCharacter: Of the [[spoiler: Jun]] and [[spoiler: Momoki]] arcs.
* SchoolIdol: She’s revered by her classmates as the “School Madonna” due to her beauty. Unfortunately, it eventually leads to the [[VillainousCrush wrong kind]] [[EntitledToHaveYou of attention]] from the [[{{Yandere}} wrong sources.]]
* SecretKeeper: Uruma tells her that [[spoiler: he killed her rapist, Madoka,]] so that she can move on from the trauma. She’s grateful for his gesture.
* SexForSolace:[[spoiler: After suffering from Madoka’s rape, she eventually goes to a hotel with Uruma and confides with him of her trauma. She tearfully asks Uruma if he can “overwrite” those memories. In the immediate next panel, they commit the deed. While Uruma is having sex with her in a rather aggressive way, Kaname enjoyed it, as she hugs him, then one hand grips the sheets, as she [[CallingYourOrgasms passionately calls his name.]]]]
* ShrinkingViolet: She’s often very shy around Uruma, but sometimes works up the courage to be more bold with her growing attraction towards him.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: The reason she fell in love with Uruma is because he comforted her on a rainy day after suffering from the five bullies torment. They soon became fast friends, but this resulted in the bullies making Uruma their next target. She moved away not long after this, but felt extremely guilty for what he went through, but Uruma proclaims that it wasn’t even her fault to begin with and quickly forgives her.
* StepfordSmiler: [[spoiler: She essentially takes Uruma on a date with her at an amusement park and arcade, happy to be at his company. She proclaims that she’s doing fine since they last met and she’s over her ordeal from [[RapeIsaSpecialKindofEvil suffering at Madoka’s hands]]. But it doesn’t take long for her to crack and break down, which leads to a SexForSolace moment with Uruma.]] She gets better. [[spoiler: Until her death by the end of Chapter 74.]]
* TaremeEyes
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Because she was unwilling and felt ashamed to tell Jun the truth [[spoiler:of who actually raped her]], this only sent him on a dark path that would lead him to becoming a member of the Revolution, kidnapping Uruma’s remaining family, having them, [[spoiler: along with her]], indirectly killed.

* AffablyEvil: [[spoiler: Pre-timeskip: Despite his anger towards Uruma, he eventually understands that Kyou was cruel to begin with, and thus, in spite of his participation in the crimes that he possibly committed with Kyou, he attempts to make amends with Uruma by allowing him to beat him in the rest of the rounds of "Rock, Paper, Scissors". Too bad it would eventually cost his sister's limbs as a result. By the post-timeskip, all of this is gone as Jun has became a full-fledged monster who tortures multiple women AND their families, although this is played straight with Azuma, who he genuinely cares for, knowing that she is an innocent person.]]
* AlasPoorVillain: Despite having become a villain without any redeeming characteristics, one can't help but feel terrible for this guy after [[spoiler: his sister got raped and murdered]], spiraling him into a path of darkness...While this certainly doesn't excuse the crimes he commit during the post-timeskip, it's hard not to feel bad for this guy after the suffering [[spoiler: his sister]] went through...
* AntiVillain: [[spoiler: After mistakenly believing Uruma to be the one who sexually assaulted his sister, he joins Kyou's cult with the intention of avenging his sister, even though there was little he knew of what really happened and that he’s ironically serving the same person behind the man who attacked his sister in the first place. 392* ArcVillain: Of the Jun Arc.
* AteHisGun: [[spoiler: How he goes out in Chapter 154.]]
* TheBadGuyWins: [[spoiler: Not only did Jun get away with ruining many people's lives, but at the same time, he didn't suffer the consequences for doing so! 395* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: [[spoiler: In Chapter 153, despite kidnapping Azuma, he never tortured or hurt her in any way as he chose to take her somewhere safe and away from his torture of Uruma as he decides to torture a doppelganger in front of Uruma to torture him.]]
* BecomingTheMask: [[spoiler: Initially, he pretended to make Azuma Chizuru suffer in front of Uruma just to spite the latter. 397* BringMyBrownPants: [[spoiler: Has this when he hugs his lifeless sister in Chapter 75.]]
* BigBrotherInstinct: He pulls a NightmareFace when he thinks Uruma is dating his sister, [[BaitAndSwitch yet it turns out he actually does ships them together.]] He gives his blessing for him and Kaname to be together, [[IfYouEverDoAnythingToHurtHer but makes it clear to never harm her, or else.]] [[spoiler: After Madoka’s assault of Kaname, he mistakenly believes that it was Uruma, and joins together with Kyou to take him down. But this would end VERY badly for everyone, especially Kaname.]]
* BullyTurnedBuddy: Inverted by the post-timeskip. After the death of [[spoiler: his sister]], he becomes so bitter that he decides to make [[spoiler: Uruma]] suffer out of pure spite.
* DirtyCoward: [[spoiler: Tells Uruma to stay at a specific spot of the bridge before walking many feet away from him, before reminding Uruma that he was the one who shot him with a gun, causing him to fall down a bridge. RIGHT BEFORE HE FIRED HIS GUN AT URUMA AGAIN. This shows that not only is he aware of how powerful Uruma is and his capability to disarm him had he been caught, but at the same time, he's willing to use dirty tactics to attack his enemies! Worse, despite all the bad things he has done, he not only fails to be properly punished for his actions, but even went as far as committing suicide, making him the only villain in the manga to never receive any proper comeuppance.]]
* DisproportionateRetribution: [[spoiler: Combined with [[MisplacedRetribution Misplaced Retribution]], in retaliation for Uruma's alleged assault of his sister, he not only had Uruma's family killed, but at the same time, he abused many women he tricked into becoming his "Kanames" while kidnapping Azuma Chizuru, one of the few remaining people who loved Uruma, and making all of them suffer]].
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler:Jun commits suicide after memories of his friendship with Uruma and Azuma resurfaces. After realizing how much he made them suffer, he commits suicide out of shame and disgust for his actions. Interestingly, this makes him the first villain in the manga series to commit suicide in stark contrast to the majority of of the villains, who are killed off by the protagonist, while this makes him the second character in the series to do so after Karen Sakuraba.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards:
** [[spoiler: Jun is horrified that one of Kyou's researchers cut off Kakeru's right leg as a result of Uruma losing the first round of "Rock, Papers, Scissors". He tries to leave the game as he knew that such a game would eventually lead to Uruma's brother's death. Unfortunately, he isn't given that choice, so he decides to throw the rest of the match at Uruma’s favor. This ends badly for everyone.]]
** [[spoiler: Despite his face-heel turn, he refused to kill or torture the real Azuma Chizuru as she didn’t do anything wrong. Instead, he simply has her watch Uruma through security footage…]]
** [[spoiler: After regaining his memories of his friendship with Uruma and Azuma, he not only realizes how much trouble he caused for his friends, but, upon mistaking Azuma for his late sister due to his own hallucination, he commits suicide via gunshot.]]
* EvilAllAlong: Chapter 142 seems to have redeemed Jun's wickedness by showing him as a doctor years later, who seems friendly to Uruma, in spite of his vengeance towards the Revolution Club... [[spoiler: However, with the relevation that Jun was the abusive boyfriend that "Juujika" were to initially target, his abuse of the Matsushima family angered Uruma so much that he confronted Jun about the incident, only for one of his victims to show up to Jun's defense in order to help him escape Uruma's wrath. In addition, Jun is much worse that he was during the pre-timeskip thanks to Kyou's further brainwashing of him during the years Uruma was imprisoned, as shown when he dated multiple girls he coerced into dressing up as his late twin sister. Worse, he even went as far as kidnapping Azuma Chizuru and was revealed to be the person who shot Uruma with a gun on the day that Uruma lost his memories!]]
* FaceHeelTurn: Zig-zagged. He ends up becoming this by the end of Chapter 63 due to thinking that [[spoiler: Uruma had raped his sister, when it was actually Madoka]]. However, this becomes inverted later on as he realized how much of a victim Uruma was. [[spoiler: Sadly, this was inverted back to this trope as he was not only escorted out of the elementary school before the police could arrest them, but at the same time, he was revealed to be the abusive boyfriend to Kaname Matsushima, who has the same face and same name as his younger sister, proving that he ended up becoming a perverted stalker who would force his girlfriends to take on his sister's appearance. In addition, he even enslaved one of his girlfriends' family into playing the role of his own, threatening to hurt them had they not complied with his expectations! He even goes as far as kidnapping Azuma Chizuru and was revealed to be the one who shot Uruma with a gun around a year ago! Despite this, it gets inverted later on as he realizes how far he went….]]
* FauxAffablyEvil: Becomes this by the post-timeskip as shown when he acts friendly to Uruma after having seemingly recovered from the abuse the Revolution Club had put him through, [[spoiler: only to reveal a lustful, obsessed control freak who abuses multiple women into donning the appearance of his late twin sister inside him.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}:
** In Chapter 141, we see Kaname having survived the attack that Kyou inflicted on her. However, the fact that she retains the exact same appearance from 5 years ago is pretty odd. In addition to [[spoiler: Jun]] having just called Uruma earlier, this strongly foreshadows [[spoiler: Jun's surgery on multiple women with the same hiragana characters as his late sister's names.]]
** In Chapter 142, as Uruma and Jun are communicating, [[spoiler: the screen on Jun's phone turns on, revealing multiple women sharing his late sister's face and appearance. If anything, this is an indicator that he is not only the abusive boyfriend that Kaname Matsushima described him to be, but at the same time, a monster who kidnapped all the "Kanames" into playing the role of his late sister. Furthermore, the fact that Jun did confirm his sister's death from six years ago also raises the question of how the other "Kaname" is alive. If anything, it hints at something more malicious about his character.]]
** In Chapter 143, as Uruma contemplates on whether to trust Jun, [[spoiler: an abrupt flashback of a person pointing a gun at him appears in his mind. Since such memories don't trigger unless strongly associated with a particular person, item, or object, this indicates that Jun was the one who not only shot Uruma with a gun on the day he met Kitami, but at the same time, indirectly caused his memory loss.]]
** In Chapter 144, when Kaname [[spoiler:Matsushima]] takes a shower at a place, [[spoiler: her boyfriend, who is revealed to be none other than Jun Shirakawa, crushes the GPS tracker placed on his shirt while muttering Uruma's name in contempt, before acting as if he understood Uruma later on. If anything, this is a strong indicator that not only is his [[FauxAffablyEvil alliance with Uruma fake]], but at the same time, he would hold a grudge against him over the attack on his sister in the past, thus prompting him to get revenge. Furthermore, after Oota notices that Kaname Shirakawa's appearance in a photo before her death matches the same with another "Kaname", it only goes to prove that Jun has done something with different women.]]
** Chapter 146 shows [[spoiler: Kyou and his minions receiving news about Jun Shirakawa from a cultist. Since the Revolution Club only keeps check on those who are part of it, this is a strong indicator that Jun is still part of the cult, revealing his true colors.]]
** Chapter 147 has Jun [[spoiler: having his men kidnap Azuma under the pretense of still being a friend to her all those years. Since it is unusual for him to have those men working for him, it not only indicates his loyalty to the Revolution Club, but at the same time, plans on using Azuma to make Uruma suffer later on.]]
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: [[spoiler: Uruma’s InnerMonologue discusses the pain he felt in Kaname’s demise, thus felt just as heartbroken as Jun. He was willing to forgive and work together with Jun, even after the knowledge of Jun’s involvement with Kyou’s cult as a means to infiltrate. However, Uruma is rightfully enraged that Jun fully embraces Kyou’s teachings while happily joining hands with Kaname’s actual killers to “get back” at Uruma, especially as Jun [[NeverMyFault denies any fault]] he had in his sister’s death, and is especially furious that he rapes and orders Azuma killed out of spite. Uruma decides right then and there not to give Jun a free pass on his “grief” and declares that he WILL kill him.]]
* FromNobodyToNightmare: He went from a harmless, yet friendly and easy-going to a [[spoiler: wrathful, hypocritical, and illogical monster who wants others to suffer simply because his sister was killed by the same club he works for...]]
* HateSink: [[spoiler: If getting his sister and Uruma's family killed wasn't enough, his intercourse of multiple women while forcing them to don his sister's appearance is even more messed up. In addition, not only did he enslave a family into acting like his own, but at the same time, he even went as far as kidnapping Azuma Chizuru and was revealed to be the person who shot Uruma with a gun on the day that Uruma lost his memories! He even went as far as raping Azuma Chizuru just to spite Uruma before having her mutilated by his goons. He becomes so detestable that he makes Kyou look nice in comparison! This, however, becomes downplayed as it was revealed that the day prior to his confrontation with Uruma, he actually took the real Azuma Chizuru somewhere away and safe from his torture of Uruma as he still cares for her.]]
* HeelRealization: [[spoiler: After Jun regains his memories of his friendship with Uruma and Azuma following his release from Kyou's indoctrination, he realizes how much suffering he put his friends through, and as a way to make amends, he commits suicide via gunshot.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: Despises the Revolutionary Club for what they did to his sister when said person got his sister hurt [[spoiler: and brutally killed]] in the first place due to rushing to judgement. Worse, he claims to despise the Revolutionary Club when in reality, [[spoiler: he is actually working for them the entire time as he manipulates Uruma into trusting him just to finish him off upon learning of his survival from the attack many years ago... He takes this further by NOT only raping Azuma in front of Uruma, but even went as far as having his goons hacking off an Azuma doppelgänger’s limbs in the same manner as Kaname, making him no different from the type of "rapist" he despised.]]
* IdiotBall: Despite his intentions to avenge his sister, [[spoiler: his actions had also led to the researchers kidnapping his sister as someone who he would lose if he doesn't beat Uruma in the game. Eventually, his sister does get killed off when he lost to Uruma in the game twice.]]
* InsaneTrollLogic: [[spoiler: He blames Uruma for Kaname’s rape and eventual death but he decides the next best coarse of action is to join forces with Kaname’s actual killers! Uruma rightfully points out that they’re the ones responsible for Kaname’s death, but Jun refuses to listen to any reasoning and condemns Uruma for all of [[ItsAllAboutMe HIS]] suffering, [[NeverMyFault while denying anything wrong that he’s largely at fault for.]]]]
* {{Jerkass}}: [[spoiler: Becomes this by the post-timeskip as he kidnapped many women and forced them into being his "Kanames", tried to kill Uruma at some point, continues working for the Revolution Club, kidnaps Uruma and the police and forces them to watch his horror theater, rapes Azuma Chizuru in front of Uruma, AND has his goons hack off her limbs to spite Uruma! However, [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold this becomes downplayed as Jun actually protected the real Azuma Chizuru from his revolutionary club soldiers as he took her somewhere safe and away from his torture of Uruma as the one he killed in front of Uruma was a doppelganger.]]]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: [[spoiler: Despite kidnapping Azuma, he still cares about her as he protected her from having to be used as a tool for torturing Uruma as Jun uses a doppelganger instead of the real Azuma just to torture Uruma.]]
** JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: [[spoiler: However, when Uruma discovers that Jun pretended to hurt Azuma just to spite him, Jun planned on making Azuma suffer for real, turning him into this trope. If anything, it only made his protection of Azuma seem as if he only cared more for himself than anyone else. Until memories of his friendships resurfaced...]]
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler: Commits suicide in Chapter 154 after memories of his friendship with Uruma resurfaces. Imagination of his sister’s presence certainly didn’t help either.]]
* KnightTemplarBigBrother: [[spoiler: When he thinks that it was Uruma that assaulted his sister, he joins forces with Kyou. Little did he know, he’s dealing with the ringleader of Kaname’s former bullies, one of them who’s actually responsible for her assault in the first place. Then Jun engages in a deadly match of rock-paper-scissors with Uruma, while Kakeru’s life is at stake. But he doesn’t care because he wants Uruma to suffer like Kaname did. That is until Kyou’s cultists cut off Kakeru’s right leg with a chainsaw does he have a change of heart, but Kaname suffers the consequences BADLY.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: [[spoiler: Is this during the post-timeskip. Unlike his personality during the pre-timeskip, Jun is not only misogynistic, but at the same time, he tricks Azuma and Uruma into falling for his traps!]]
* MisplacedRetribution: [[spoiler: Blames Uruma for raping his sister when it was Madoka who had actually caused her suffering. The kicker? Chapter 151 reveals that he eventually knew that it was Madoka who committed the crime, yet he still hates Uruma for turning Kaname into a “sex slave” just because he saw the two of them go into a hotel, [[SexForSolace but it was for different reasons.]] Even when Uruma reveals that he never harmed Kaname in any way, Jun bluntly admits he doesn’t care.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Has this when [[spoiler: his victory in the first round of "Rock, Paper, Scissors" led to Kakeru getting his right leg chopped off by Andou Midori. He decides to make up for it by throwing the rest of the match in Uruma’s favor, but Kyou has other plans…]]
** [[spoiler: After realizing how far he went, he felt so guilty that he committed suicide as a result…]]
* NeverMyFault: [[spoiler: Blames Uruma for the suffering and death of his sister while HE refuses to admit any role in causing Kaname's death, even when Uruma already states that Kyou and Momoki (whom Jun had joined forces) are responsible for her death.]]
* PosthumousCharacter: Along with [[spoiler: Kaname]], he becomes this for the [[spoiler: Momoki]] arc, which is why Juujika chose to take their revenge on [[spoiler: Momoki]] instead.
* ShipperOnDeck: Even though he’s protective of Kaname, he’s surprisingly very supportive of his sister’s feelings towards Uruma and tries to hook them up, but makes it clear not to ever hurt her in any way. [[spoiler: He drops this when he mistakenly believes that Uruma raped her.]]
* TookALevelInJerkass: [[spoiler: By the events of the post-timeskip, he's become a lot worse than he was when he betrayed Uruma over the delusion that his friend raped his younger sister. When getting Uruma's family killed wasn't worse enough, Jun abusing multiple of his girlfriends with his younger sister's appearance was even worse as one could imagine the sheer horror the girls had to face when dealing with him.]]
** [[spoiler: Worse, Jun became so evil that he makes Uruma look GOOD in comparison (justified as Uruma would never resort to measures as extreme as that of Kyou or his fellow members).]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: [[spoiler: Because he took part in kidnapping Kakeru Uruma to avenge his sister, this only led to the researchers holding his sister hostage and killing her after Jun lost to Shun twice!]]
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Is nowhere to be seen after Kyou escaped before getting arrested. However, it could be possible that he and Andou kidnapped him to either brainwash him more or murder him to avoid having witnesses on their tails. [[spoiler: Finally averted by Chapter 141 in which he makes a phone call to the Kitami Clinic trying to talk to Uruma, seemingly caring about him, only to reveal that he tried to assassinate Uruma in the past.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: It’s hard not to talk much about him without revealing [[spoiler: he thinks Uruma raped Kaname (when really it was Madoka) and SNAPS. Or that he joins Kyou’s cult and becomes just as insane as the bullies. Or that he snaps out of it and switch sides after Kakeru’s right leg is cut off by the cultist and then loses his sister as a result of wanting to make up to Uruma.]]

! The Police

[[folder: Anzai Zenichi]]
A cop who’s investigating the recent disappearance of Uruma’s bullies, he’s quick to suspect that he may know something out it, but prefers to stand by and wait to see what he’s up too.
----
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Whether he killed his bullies or not is left ambiguous. However, he does question himself if Uruma ever repeated the same actions that he did, implying that he may have done so...
* AntiHero: Is this given that he appears to be interested in arresting Uruma for no damn reason other than his desire to teach him a "sense of justice". In addition, it is left ambiguous as to whether he really did murder his bullies. Despite this, he truly cared about Uruma more than the audience thought he did.
* DeathByIrony: Anzai was initially presented as somewhat of a [[HateSink despicable character]] due to not seemingly doing anything about the crimes the bullies are committing and only getting involved whenever Uruma is mentioned and also for not being affected by the events at all. [[spoiler: Chapter 57 averts this as it revealed that (from his perspective) he didn't have enough evidence to prove that the bullies are the ones who committed the crime of murdering Uruma's parents and beating his little brother up (partly due to Uruma's unwillingness to admit that he was being bullied and possibly due to the fact that the bullies are unwilling to confess to their crimes).]] Because of this, as more and more of his [[GoodAllAlong sympathetic traits finally show up,]] he was immediately [[spoiler: killed off when he tried to help Uruma redeem himself [[LeaveNoWitnesses after witnessing the aftermath of his murder of Kuga.]]]]
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** As soon as he finds Uruma on top of Kuga after murdering him, he was very shocked at what he just witnessed.
** When he first approaches the bullies, he is disturbed by how they have the potential to kill other people.
** Even when he could have quit the investigation of Uruma, he decided to, once and for all, get involved during Uruma's fight with Kuga to prevent him from becoming a monster. Sadly, this wouldn't end well for the detective.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite his questionings of Uruma and his supposed antagonistic nature, he genuinely wants to prevent Uruma from becoming a monster. Sadly, it didn't end well for him. [[spoiler: However, Chapter 79 revealed that he planted a voice recorder by the side of the shed to record his entire encounter with Uruma, making it ambiguous as to whether he really wanted to help Uruma redeem himself or only cared about arresting him.]]
* ItsAllMyFault: [[spoiler: Has this in Chapter 58 after blaming himself for not having been there for Uruma, causing him to fall into a path of darkness, before Uruma kills him.]]
* PoliceAreUseless: He previously investigated the car crash that killed Uruma’s parents and led to his brother in a coma, yet never suspected the bullies had any part of it, despite Uruma having damning evidence with their phone call and the time placement. Although he did make it clear to his grandpa that he wants no part of the law enforcement’s help and would rather [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge handle things himself.]]
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Despite only appearing in some chapters of Part 1 himself, [[spoiler: the recording of his death would allow Oota to arrest Uruma, thus preventing him from killing Kyou that would lead to the events of Part 2...]]
** [[spoiler: This only made another woman with the same surname as him wanting to avenge him by wanting to kill Uruma at some point in the story...]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Sort of. Because he did not investigate the case of Uruma's family's death, this only gave Uruma more time to prepare for the time of his revenge, as well as being able to kill off 4 of his bullies. Anzai even went as far as apologizing to Uruma for not stopping him from a monster (although that isn't completely true as Uruma himself refrained from killing other innocent people such as Kaname Shirakawa and Azuma Chizuru).
** Heck, this is more or less true depending on his intentions in approaching Uruma during the Kuga arc. The fact that he recorded his entire interaction with Uruma only allows Oota to later arrest the teenager and prevent him from killing Kyou, placing him in prison for five years while the psychopath might be out there doing some bad stuff, setting off the events of Part 2...
** [[spoiler: Worse, another woman sharing his last name (possibly his daughter or wife/fiancee) ends up receiving news of this, prompting her to avenge him by trying to exact revenge on Uruma]]

** At some point, she dated a man who was revealed to be a part of the Revolution Club. Despite his attempts to recruit her, she refuses to date him again after discovering how twisted he is...
** [[spoiler: As soon as she sees the play where Jun reenacts the events surrounding the incidents with his sister in his own twisted, delusional way, she becomes completely shocked and horrified at the parts when the actors impersonating Uruma and Kaname starting having sex before hanging themselves...]]
** Vows to have [[spoiler: Jun]] and his cult arrested despite having been captured by him.
** After seeing [[spoiler: Azuma's doppelganger]] beheaded, she gets so shocked that she calls [[spoiler: Jun]] out for what he did to her.
* HeroAntagonist: Heavily downplayed for the majority of the time (with the exception of Chapter 79 as Oota initially thought that Uruma was an innocent boy [which, ironically, he was when he was younger before becoming cold as a teenager]). They even have a genuine friendship as she shares her house with Uruma. However, once she finds out about the ordeal involving Uruma killing Anzai, she temporarily loses her respect towards him and arrests him several chapters later. Despite this, she doesn't hold any grudges towards Uruma during the [[spoiler: Jun]] arc...
* NiceGirl: Oota is generally a friendly, kind, and easygoing police officer. Despite her constant attempts to act serious all the time, she generally wants to be helpful towards other people, especially Uruma when his house got burned down by one of Kuga's goons. However, she does end up being less respectful towards Uruma following evidence of Anzai's death, although this does become downplayed after she and Uruma see each other again 5 years later.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Ends up being this as her arrest of Uruma not only prevents the teenager from murdering Kyou, but also allows the latter to recruit more and more criminals.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Averted; it may seem as if she was never to be heard from again ever since Chapter 88. However, this is completely averted as she returned in Chapter 106 to investigate "Juujika-san".
* WhatTheHellHero
** Part I: Tells Uruma that she'll never forgive him if she finds out that he truly murdered Anzai Zenichi (even though the truth was out to begin with).
** Part II: Tries delivering it to him after he knocks [[spoiler: Anzai Mizuki]] out before doing the same to her.

! The Revolution Club

[[folder: As a whole]]
A cult dedicated to Kyou Shigoku, they are introduced in Chapter 65. Contrary to their title, these people actually brainwash and torture anyone joining their cult relish every second of it!
----
* AssholeVictim: You can expect any of them to suffer the consequences when they are either killed off or beaten up by Gramps and Uruma!
* ForTheEvulz: As they’re all a bunch of loyal cultists towards Kyou, it’s a given. Ando will proudly proclaim it to.
--->“I’ll do anything to inflict pain! That’s my way of having fun! It gets me going!”
* HateSink: While not on the outwardly detestable level of the bullies who followed Kyou and his gang, they still manage to fit this trope as their sadistic, twisted ways of finding fun through torturing other people makes them this. It’s even more messed up as they’re willing to follow Kyou every command as a cult without a shred of remorse.
* SycophanticServant: All of them literally worship the ground Kyou walks on, and their boss has no issue with encouraging them to either hang themselves or [[YouHaveFailedMe execute whoever fails him.]] And it doesn’t deteriorate their devotion to Kyou.
* WouldHurtAChild: Three of the Revolution Club members treated Kakeru very badly...
** Andou: He severed Kakeru's right leg with a chainsaw and plans on killing him later.
** Nogi: Held a knife at Kakeru's throat, threatening Shun to play their twisted game or else they murder his younger brother.
** Momoki: Grabbed Kakeru and threatened to kill him, [[DirtyCoward before dropping him on the floor to save her own skin from the hands of an angry Andou.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Andou Midori]]
A member of the Revolution Club. Contrary to his appearance, he is actually one of the strongest fighter in the entire manga behind Gramps.
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/andou_midori_portrait_29.png]]
----
* ArcVillain: Of the Andou Arc.
* AssholeVictim: One of the most cruelest characters that can give Kyou and the GangOfBullies a run for their money, suffers a well-deserving agonizing death at the hands of Uruma.
* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: After the timeskip, we’re reintroduced to this douche as he’s killing a room full of dogs and puppies.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Uruma puts him in a bone crushing torture device, stabs his eye, then burns him alive while smashing his pedestal of Kyou.
* DirtyCoward: Instead of fighting Gramps with his fists, he uses a chainsaw to fight him out of fear of getting killed off!
** Somewhat downplayed as Andou is more than willing to put his life on the line when it comes to protecting Kyou from any attacks, not minding if he gets injured.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Although he talks in a respectful way, his typical facial demeanor, as well as his sadistic personality, shows that he isn't nice to begin with, and once he starts fighting Gramps, he drops his polite facade and becomes outright nasty.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: Wears himself a pair of glasses and his humanity is as empty as the vacuum of space itself.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Despises those he perceives as being "weak" when said person himself would resort to using a weapon that would show how weak another person is.
* IResembleThatRemark: He’s offended when Uruma calls him a DirtyCoward because he chooses to fight Gramps with a chainsaw instead of fighting with their fists. He responds by charging at Gramps… with his chainsaw still in hand. Then he tries to kill Kakeru, a defenseless little boy [[spoiler: but Gramps takes the hit, until Kyou finishes the job on Kakeru.]] Proving once and for all that as much as Ando will deny it, he’s a pathetic coward though and through.
* {{Jerkass}}: Reveals his very cruel and sadistic attitude once Uruma calls him out for being a coward by using a chainsaw to fight Gramps instead of fighting him one-on-one with their fists. He even enjoys killing "weaklings" such as Kakeru, Momoki, and Gramps (who sacrificed himself to save Kakeru).
* KarmaHoudini: Downplayed. While Uruma DID manage to kick him in the face after the cultist restrained him earlier, he has not faced any retribution for his participation in the murder of Gramps AND even escaped with Kyou before the two of them could be arrested. Until his torture at the hands of Uruma, however.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Averted in Chapter 104 as it was revealed that he was active in Kyou's cult since their escape from the police back in Chapter 86.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Momoki Sana]]
A member of the Revolution Club. Despite her affiliation with the Club, she plays the least active role compared to the other Revolution members.
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/momoki_sana_portrait_29_7.png]]
----
* ArcVillain: Of the Momoki arc.
* DirtyCoward: Not only did she use Kakeru as a human shield, but the moment that Andou attempts to kill her and Kakeru, she LITERALLY [[WouldHurtAChild dropped Kakeru on the floor]] before running away in order to save her own neck!
* FauxAffablyEvil: Although she maintains a polite speech towards a revolutionary club soldier in Chapter 159, she feels nothing but pleasure towards the soldier's pain after injecting him with a poisonous drug.
* HateSink: She's a sadistic monster who takes pleasure in the suffering of others, in addition of being a repulsive coward who needs to use a little kid dirty to save her skin, and a murderer responsible of [[spoiler: Kaname's death]]. It's obvious that Momoki is wrote so that the reader rotts for Uruma to brutalize her.
* KarmaHoudini: Downplayed, while she didn't receive any retribution for her participation in the kidnapping and eventual murder of Uruma's remaining family members, [[spoiler: she hasn't suffered the consequences that badly as she is seen five years later, having already been recovered from the pain by Uruma's kick]].
* VillainRespect: After [[spoiler: Jun]] committed suicide, she had her henchman, Masashi Nakamura, take his body from his hideout before remarking how happy she is for him after he managed to impress both her and Kyou for his torture of Uruma. However, the authenticity of her respect towards him is left ambiguous.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Like Jun, she was also nowhere to be seen after getting kicked in the face by Uruma and following the events of the police arresting the latter... [[spoiler: However, given that a kick in the face wouldn't be enough to kill her and that the police found five corpses in the building (including Kaname), one can deduce that she regained enough consciousness from the hit to escape the building before getting arrested. This was eventually confirmed in Chapter 104 in which she, along with Andou and two other unidentified cult members, were seen entering a room to meet up with their boss.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Miguel]]
A member of the Revolution Club. Although he appears to be very intimidating, he talks in a very cordial manner. However, that does not make him any less twisted than his other co-workers.
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miguel_portrait_29_7.png]]
----
* FauxAffablyEvil: He may talk in a very polite manner towards everyone, although underneath him is another twisted monster.
* GeniusBruiser: Interestingly, in spite of having a lot of strength like Kuga, he isn't as angry as the latter and prone to direct violence. Instead, he would be very calm and calculating while also using his strength to attack his enemies.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He tells Nogi to calm down when he starts attacking a newcomer to their Club. However, Miguel would later attack the same newcomer for "talking about the Revolution Club in a certain way".
* RedOniBlueOni:
** To Kuga. While both of them are giants with brute strength, Kuga is very bad-tempered and prone to violence and sexual assault, whereas Miguel is subtle and very calculating besides using violence at only necessary times.
** To Nogi. Interestingly, while Nogi is a short man who is very prone to antagonizing others and assaulting them, Miguel would simply remain calm while using violence only when necessary.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Nogi Takashi]]
A member of the Revolution Club. Being the shortest of all the club members, he is the most prone to violence and is very hot-headed like Kuga.
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nogi_takashi_portrait_29.png]]

----
* BullyingADragon: [[spoiler: He literally kicks Uruma and [[RelativeButton makes fun of him for mourning over his Gramps and little brother.]] Uruma’s response was to rip off his attacker’s face.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Played with and not necessarily in love. When Gramps killed Miguel to save his own grandson, Nogi was very concerned for Miguel, even being shocked at his death in Chapter 81. However, he seems to have gotten over this quickly in the next few chapters.
* FacialHorror: [[spoiler: Uruma rips off his face with his bare hands after he decided [[TheGlovesComeOff he had enough]] of the rest of the cultists evil deeds.]]
* {{Gonk}}: He has a rat-like face that makes him more punchable
* {{Jerkass}}: The most unpleasant out of all the club members to begin with.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kurusu]]

----
* AssholeVictim: Killed by the same young girl he adopted because he manipulated and killed her adopted sister.
* CreepySouvenir: He keeps the arms of his victims.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Reo and Uruma put him and Ando in a medieval torture device called the “The Stork/Scavenger’s Daughter”, which forced him to crouch down until a majority of his bones break. Then Reo breaks his neck in a crushing hug and burns his remains.
* CodeName: Used the name ”Noumi Touma” when he adopted Reo and Rio.
* NightmareFetishist: He finds the shriveled hands of his slain victims arousing. Yikes.
* WouldHitAGirl: He only kills girls because of the “thrill” it gives him.

! The Kitami Clinic

[[folder:Kitami Kougo]]
[[quoteright:290:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_4032_1.jpeg]]
[[caption-width-right:290:]]
The mysterious owner of the Kitami Clinic. Despite appearing to be a doctor, his business is actually a coverup for his assassination dealings called “Juujika”, who targets those who’re perceived as being evil.
----
* AffablyEvil: Despite his intimidating appearance, he seems to be very cheerful and polite towards other people.
* BullyHunter:
** Ever since he was a kid, he had a strong sense of justice and didn’t have any regrets on fighting back against his schoolyard bully, even though it earned him a stern lecture from his teacher and beating from his parents.
** What inspired him into forming Juujika was inadvertently killing his patient while performing surgery and his surprise at the wife for thanking him because said patient was an abusive husband.
* ButtMonkey:
** He’s dismayed to be left out of his friends’ missions, so he “borrowed” a boat to follow them all the way to Revolution Island, then swam the rest of the way once the boat’s owner caught him stealing. And he carried a huge backpack of important items. By the time he reaches Mimi and Saki, he’s heavily exhausted on account of climbing and running around the island looking for his friends.
** There’s his comical reaction to finding out a potential wealthy client turns out to be a 12 years old boy who lied over who he was. Later on he finds out Uruma is out drinking with Mimi, Saki, and Azuma; leaving him shocked that his friend is hanging out with a bunch a beautiful girls while he’s left with a pile of paperwork.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Being a SerialKillerKiller, there are many lines that he won't cross:
** He firmly believes RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil and would never commit such a vile crime.
** Rather than killing Uruma upon meeting him in the past, he decides to take him to his place and nurse him back to health (though part of it could be that Uruma simply earned his respect for not choosing to rat him out and instead offering him some advice on disposing his victims' bodies, showing that they do have a common goal in terms of getting rid of the criminals in the world).
** He would NEVER engage in any fecal fetishes like Gonda nor would he ever feed anyone those disgusting matters, except on Gonda but only because he enjoyed torturing his victims by feeding them his own shit, so the good doctor decided the best torture for him is ATasteOfTheirOwnMedicine.
** MOST IMPORTANTLY, he only targets people who are causing other people's sufferings. Thought the clients are required to pay him up first, he always had a strong sense of justice in being a BullyHunter.
** He’s horrified and guilt ridden from the time he accidentally killed his patient in the middle of surgery. He apologized profusely to the patient’s wife, but felt surprised that the wife was grateful to him since her husband regularly abused her. This is what inspired him to start his own assassination business.
* NotSoStoic: In spite of his intimidating appearance, he can actually be very funny as shown when Uruma tripped and dropped his lunch on the ground!
* SerialKillerKiller: This is the true purpose of his job. While he is a genuine doctor, his clinic is also a front to hire clients wishing to off any cruel individual.
* TrueCompanions: With Uruma and Mimi. They’re both employed by Kitami, and he becomes immediately concerned when Uruma started freaking out at the mention of Kyou's name from Gonda before the cultist died from suffocation of his own fecal matters. Once Uruma restores his memories and insists on leaving them out on his revenge, Kitami and Mimi refuse to back down and make it perfectly clear they’re with him till the end.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Despite his crimes, his goal in this world is to get rid of as many criminals as possible since they could be out there hurting other people. Given the CrapsackWorld he lives in and his clients who suffer through it because of said CrapsackWorld, it’s justified.

A nurse employed by the clinic. Like her boss, she also helps out on his SerialKillerKiller business.

----
* TheCutie: She’s kind and helpful to the clinic.
* DamselOutOfDistress: Once she’s pinned down by a cultist, she notices Uruma’s knife and stabs her would-be rapist. She also threatens to do the same to another cultist trying to rape Saki and the two manage to escape.
* HospitalHottie: She’s a nurse and TheCutie. Several guys find her attractive because of this.
* HopelessSuitor: She has her eye on Uruma, but he’s a CluelessChickMagnet.
* GenkiGirl: Quite energetic on her part.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Let’s see… bright colored hair, protective older brother who ships her with Uruma, and a [[TheCutie kind-hearted personality]]. Back already, Kaname? Shoot, they even have the same hairstyle but Mimi’s is shorter but their face and eye shape look similar.
* TrashOfTheTitans: Uruma is shocked by how extremely messy her apartment is, and comedically horrified to find her asleep in the middle of her own laundries and trash without a care in the world.
* TrueCompanions: With Uruma and her boss, Kitami. She dutifully follows in Kitami’s SerialKillerKiller business and will feel immediately concerned whenever her boss or Uruma are harmed in any way. When Uruma regains his lost memories while wishing to leave her and Kitami out of his RoaringRampageOfRevenge, they both refuses to back down and make it perfectly clear they’re with him till the end. He’s grateful for this. While she does have genuine romantic feelings towards Uruma, he’s sees her as a close friend. And although she’s comedically dismayed to have other rivals over Uruma’s affections, she still glad to stay by his side as a co-worker and a friend.

Kuga’s girlfriend from back when they were kids, she doubts what their classmates say about this thuggish attitude. And suffers the consequences very, VERY badly.
----
* BigEater: When Uruma tails her to a ramen restaurant, he sees her order a very large portion, which she eats in under five minutes. When we see the restaurant's scoreboard for the quickest times, she's in the top three. Specifically, ''all three''.
* TheFarmerAndTheViper: How does Kuga thank her from freeing him from Uruma’s deadly torture devices? [[spoiler: He rapes her to death.]]
* FatalFlaw: Her blind faith in Kuga has her ignore people's warnings about him being an evil person, and even when she does come to accept they're true, she still thinks she can change him for better and comes to his aid. [[spoiler:Kuga repays this dedication by raping and killing her.]]
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: She’s in love with Kuga ever since they were friends from their childhood, yet dismisses what the other students warn her about him as rumors. Even when she finally sees him for what a utter bastard he is after beating her up and nearly raping her, she tries to change him back to what a “sweet kid” he was.
* ICanChangeMyBeloved: When she can no longer hide from the truth any longer, she finally admits that Kuga is indeed a monster. Yet firmly believes with the love she has for him he can change for the better. Kuga doesn’t care one bit.
* IdiotBall: Even though Anna could have left Kuga to die during his torture, she CHOSE to save him in spite of the crap he's put her through! [[spoiler: [[UngratefulBastard And he thanks her by ASSAULTING her]]]].
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Despite her one-shot appearance during the Kuga arc, the fact that she freed Kuga and indirectly gave him some time to torture Uruma also allowed Anzai Zenichi to catch up with them, as the detective would secretly record his entire interaction with Uruma in case anything bad happens to him. This, in turn, allows Oota to pick up on the recording and later arrest Uruma for what he did to Anzai, preventing the teenager from even killing Kyou, his last target of his vengeance.
* TooDumbToLive: Her inability to see Kuga for the irredeemable monster he really is, and having rescued him from Uruma's torture, sentenced her to a crude death.
* WhamEpisode: Chapter 43 reveals that she’s Kyou’s cousin on their mom’s side.

A newbie of the Revolution Club’s recruitment camp, she has ulterior motives against one of the cult’s strongest members, Kurusu. She befriends Uruma and protects his allie’s against their enemies.
----
* ActionGirl: The girl can shoot dead an entire group of rapist-cultists and fights down Kurusu.
* BigDamnHeroes: She guns down cultists right as they were about to ravish Mimi and Saki.
* BigSisterInstinct: She swears vengeance against Kurusu because he killed her adopted sister, Rio.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She gets along swell with Uruma, because she looked into his background and felt inspired enough to go on her own RoaringRampageOfRevenge. By the time they coincidentally crash into each other while the respective party is dishing out their revenge against Ando and Kurusu, they team up to torture their enemies together.
* ButNowIMustGo: Once she’s finished her RoaringRampageOfRevenge, she insists to Uruma that she must leave but hopes they’ll meet again in the future.
* ComicallySerious: She’s not the first and certainly not the last to join this trope. Determined to get her bloodthirsty revenge on Kurusu, she’s also has her comedic and energetic moments.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Her parents died while they were in a brutal car crash. She was bullied while in an orphanage, and her only friend during that time was a young girl named Rio. They’re both adopted by Kurusu, and she gets jealous of his closeness to Rio, since they both had a crush on him. At one point she rejected Rio and told her not to call them all as family. One night she decided to run away, then heard what she presumed to be Rio and Kurusu in the middle of having sex, but once Kurusu left, she walked into Rio with an arm cut off, bleeding profusely. Rio’s final words to her was that Kurusu killed her, as wells as gifting her knitted gloves and asking her if they are family. She tearfully replies they are family.
* DistaffCounterpart: To Uruma. She’s a young girl who’s also on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge against individuals that killed their loved ones. Comes to no surprise that they become friends and team up against their respective enemies.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: She has bangs that cover one side of her face to reflect her mysterious and lone wolf demeanor.
* TragicKeepsake: Her mother’s ring becomes this since she was the only survivor of her family’s car crash. She manages to recognize Rio’s severed arm amongst Kurusu trophy’s because she noticed one had her mother’s ring on its finger.
