An amateur baseball team in Tokyo (specifically, Edogawa district) consists of cat robots (except for Hiroshi and Mika) founded by Kuroemon. At first they were a bunch of losers lost in every single match they took part in but after days of training tirelessly, this team has made great progress and won the first prize in some tournaments. From then, they just become more and more badass.
----
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: As a whole. However, early on the series, Aimond takes the biggest piece of cake. His first appearance is him attempting to use his Fire Impact, and failing in such a ridiculous way. Later on, he is one of Doras Top Batter, one of TheAce of Doras alongside Hiroshi and Kuro, and one of few person in the series who manage to defeat Shiro.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: A delivery robot and his owner, a generic dandy, fish-shop manager, children caretaker, a random child who doesn’t even know what baseball is, an American dude who joined the team by mistake... Not the best materials for a baseball team, but they manage.
* RedOniBlueOni: Hyoro and Aimond, respectively. Aimond can shift from being the latter to the former, but Hyoro is always the Red Oni.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Well, they are the main protagonist, however despite the fact that the majority of the team are not from Doras, every team up matches in the series are practically Doras show off. This is even lampshaded inside the series.
* TookALevelInBadass: At first, they have never won a single match. At present, they not only stomp every opponent they encounter but also join the national team, even make it to the final round. Guriemon is reasonably surprise about how much Doras has improved after he left.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Dorayaki for the whole gang of cat robots.
* VitriolicBestBuds: They are not above yelling, insulting, snarking at and beating their teammates, but even then they’re no doubt TrueCompanions.
** Hyoroemon didn’t get along well with Chibiemon at first and deemed him as a troublemaker (not that it’s untrue), but after seeing Chibi risked himself to catch Hirai's homerun, he appreciates the little brave guy and cares about him more than he will admit.

-> Position: Third baseman
-> Jacket number: 5

The team's current captain and manager, one of Edogawa Doras' founders and initial player members. Originally a 'freelance' robot that lives with, as well as work for, Hiroshi's family, his passion for baseball started when he arrives at Hiroshi's house and watches a baseball game on television.

In Shin Dorabase, he has become a professional player and is one of the Chiba Marines's top players.
----
* BookDumb: In his robot school days, a trait he shared with Shiro. He grew out of it in the present, even though he still shows shades of it.
* Determinator: After understanding that as long as he tries, things will go well, Kuro won’t give up no matter what. This is a trait he learned from his former friend and current rival Shiroemon.
* FriendToAllChildren: Downplayed. He doted on Chibiemon the most during their first few times practicing together whereas other members just don’t know how to deal with the kid, but he can still get angry if Chibi goes a little too far.
* GeniusDitz: Most apparent post-CharacterDevelopment. He does a good job in his work as a delivery robot and is definitely an excellent baseball player, but is comically inept in everything else.
* HeroicBSOD:
** Hiroshi’s sudden accident and possible CareerEndingInjury doesn’t do his emotions any favor. Fortunately, he bounces back quickly enough to reach the first match of WABC in time and declares that he will now also play baseball for Hiroshi’s part.
** Since Hyoroemon , the team doesn’t do well in a match they would have slaughtered. He gets so furious, stress, and anxious at the same time that he has to smash his helmet into the ground to cool off.
* HotBlooded: Extremely hot-headed and has a burning passion for baseball.
* TheLeader: Of Doras, of course.
* MadeOfIron: If not, even as a robot, how could he survive the 180km/h ball hit him right in the head and still continue the match as if that was nothing?
* MeaningfulName: Kuroemon, a black cat robot.
* NiceGuy: Hot-blooded and passionate in the field, a nice, laid-back and easygoing guy otherwise.
* TechnicianVsPerformer: The Performer to Shiroemon’s Technician. He played baseball solely because it was fun and there was not really any reason to be the best, which clashed with Shiro’s viewpoint so they fell apart. Years after, Kuroemon starts to take baseball more seriously but at the core, he still holds onto his point that baseball is the sport to play with friends for the fun of it.

-> Position: Pitcher
-> Jacket number: 1

The main pitcher for Doras and Kuroemon's BestFriend. The only son of a family that owns a delivery business, called the "Doraneko Delivery Service". Before joining Edogawa Doras, he has been helping his mother run the delivery business ever since his father died. Years of lifting heavy boxes give him strong shoulders, resulting in powerful pitches.

In volume 12, he was selected to represent Japan in the WABC Cup but due to a traffic accident, he had to relinquish his position and gave it to his teammate Suzuemon.
----
* AccidentalAthlete: Due to the heavy weight he often carries, Hiroshi was found out to have strong shoulders by Kuro, but has trouble controlling it.
** Which becomes an InformedFlaw in a short time - while he do have trouble controlling the ball because of his glasses, he quickly gets over it. After the first match in the series, his next appearance shows him throwing a forkball, and his ball control is soon to be considered one of his good points.
* CantCatchUp: During the All Stars team up, Hiroshi notices that he is nowhere as good as Shiro and Monta. This is the same guy who stays as one of the series‘ top pitchers, TheAce of Edogawa Doras, and during the WABC arc, Shiro himself admitted that the Japan Team needs Hiroshi to win the WABC. Thankfully, he manages to catch up in a short time.
* CareerEndingInjury: Thankfully subverted. The accident that caused him to break his arm do render him unable to join the WABC Cup, but right in the next arc he is mostly healed and ready to play baseball again.
* DeadpanSnarker: Drops quite a bit of acerbic comments for the antics his teammates partakes in.
* DisappearedDad: His father, who ignited the love for baseball inside him, passed away long ago. This caused him quite an emotional distress when he first met Kuro.
* GreenEyedMonster: Sometimes gets jealous with other pitchers who get better recognitions than him, most apparent during the WABC arc. The envy doesn’t last too long though.
* HeroicBSOD: He is reasonably upset with the fact that he cannot take part in the WABC Cup because of the unfortunate accident, even snapping at Mika at one point. Luckily, he gets better.
* OnlySaneMan: Sometimes serves as this in the whole team, often getting exasperated at their antics.
* TheRival: He considered Shiroemon to be the strongest opponent in the serve, and repeatedly wanted to compete with him.
* TokenHuman: The first and only human in the main team.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Yakisoba.

[[caption-width-right:256:The Pun hottest guy of the team.]]

-> Position: Left fielder
-> Jacket number: 7

The left fielder for Doras, he lived in Florida before moving to Japan to play professional baseball. His cool and collected attitude sometimes is the source of humor. Presently, he’s living with Mr. Inazuma, whom he saved from a homerun, without needing to pay for the accommodation (or indeed, for anything).

He’s called to represent the America during the WABC Cup, and brings them the most glorious victory. His old baseball team before he joined Doras is called "Lobsters".
----
* TheAce: He can take on any role needed, and is one of a few people who managed to defeat Shiroemon.
* BigDamnHero: Of the America representative in particular and the whole Eagleland in general during the WABC Cup, when he managed to hit Shiroemon's 180 km/h fastball and brought them the glory.
* BlindWithoutEm: Downplayed. He’s heavily nearsighted and needs glasses to look around, but there hasn’t been a scene where he struggles without them. In fact, for some reasons, he can strike the ball a tad more accurate when he removes them, and his glasses acts like a PowerLimiter instead.
* ColdHam: Says hammy things and shouts out loud his technique with a generally indifferent face.
* TheComicallySerious: He’s presented as the cooler side of Doras with the composed deposition and the CoolShades, but because this is Doras we are talking about all of that just add in the humor.
* CoolShades: Always appears with a pair of TriangleShades - which turns out to be a stylish pair of glasses.
* FaceHeelTurn: Temporarily, in the WABC Cup Arc, he leaves for America to join their national team, officially turns his back to his Japanese teammates. But after the cup is over, he returns to Doras despite all the offerings from the other side of the world, showing that he’s still dedicating to them.
* FieryStoic: He plays with fire, but is among the coolest and most composed characters. By the series’ standards, at least.
* TheGlassesComeOff: Takes off his shades/glasses before hitting Shiro's last fastball in the final match between Doras and Whiters. The first time in the whole series, he deliberately takes them off.
* GratuitousEnglish: Spouts out one or two English words in a manga explicitly published in Asia. Though he is American, to be fair.
* GuestStarPartyMember: He only sided with the Americans for the WABC Cup; after that, he immediately returns to Doras.
* HotBlooded: Can be one when he gets serious. Or when he enters the baseball field in general.
* ItWasAGift: The prized baseball bat Monga destroyed in Volume 1 was a gift from his former teammates before he moved to Japan, so he was reasonably furious.
* ItsPersonal:
** At first, Aimond was amongst the members who wanted to disband the team after days of failure, but once his beloved baseball bat was destroyed by Monga, he became determined to side with his teammates to win against Monga.
** When Aimond spots Randy amongst the Devil Kings, he immediately enrages because of Randy’s betrayal towards Lobsters - their former team, which caused it to break up, and takes it personal to defeat Randy this time.
* JerkassBall: Grabs this briefly during the WABC arc when he came to watch the Japan VS UK game with his teammates. When asked about his thoughts on Hiroshi's injury, Aimond's response was that he and the rest of his teammates were grateful that he couldn't play for the Japan team (what makes this even worse was that the car accident could have killed Hiroshi in the process) which rightfully earned him Hyoro's wrath. Thankfully, this was brief as later he did show that he actually still cares about his Doras teammates, both from his comments and thoughts in the final match, and his decision to return to Doras post WABC arc.
* NotSoStoic: He takes part in as much antics as his teammates do, and can be in rage pretty often.
* PlayingWithFire: All of his SignatureMove have him hit the ball so fast that it catches on fire. It is explained that the fire sparked from the impact of the ball onto his heavily oiled metal baseball bat.
* SoreLoser: Doesn’t like losing, so much he is willing to travel overseas just so he can have a chance of getting victory, and doesn’t hesitate to leave the team he’s in if they’re incapable of winning a single match.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Normally very cool, collected, taciturn, and confident on the outside, but is actually quite caring.
* TokenMinority: The only American member of Doras.

-> Position: Short-stop
-> Jacket number: 6

The short-stop of Doras. Apparently a robot cat assembled for a privileged family and has good baseball sense. He replaced Hiroshi to attend the WABC Cup due to the latter's injuries, and did his job better than expected.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: The most generic person in Doras suddenly gets thrown into the brightest limelight of all - the international WABC where the greatest amateur baseball players all over the globe gather. He however shows that he’s worthy of his position among them not just as a replacement for Hiroshi and cleverly uses people’s ignorance towards him to his advantage.
* ButtMonkey: The poor guy often gets mistreated and ignored, which become a RunningGag.
* TheDandy: Spends great care to his outfit, takes pride in the fact that he has the biggest neck bell and generally dresses well.
* TheGenericGuy: All we ever know about Suzu is how he is a rich guy, and he has a good baseball sense. When he’s put inside Doras, he stands out because he is extremely generic.
* NeatFreak: He had some talent for baseball, but because he didn’t want to get his uniform dirty, he usually avoided sliding and lunging. Initially at least, since he gets better.
* NonIdleRich: Despite coming from a rich family, he affiliated with the lower class and fit well in them. Even moreso after his CharacterDevelopment, where he’s shown to be humble and in possession of an iron will not many people would have.
* TheNondescript: As TheGenericGuy, he isn't noticeable, and he often uses this "ability" to go unnoticed and silently steal a base.
* RunningGag: After the WABC arc, Suzu's face is never shown whenever he does something awesome.
* TookALevelInBadass: He was very much unremarkable aside from his defense on shortstop, but come the WABC arc Suzu has grown to be one of the more consistent and dependable members in Doras and gets tons of awesome moments in the later volumes-- dependable enough to be selected to King's All-Star team in the All Stars arc.

-> Position: First baseman
-> Jacket number: 3

The team's first baseman, also the shadow coach and mood maker in the team. A tall and very talkative cat robot who works as a shopkeeper of a fish shop. Hot-headed, but kind and reasonable.
----
* TenMinuteRetirement: [[spoiler: In volume 18, Hyoro suddenly quits Doras to concentrate on taking care of his sick 'father' - the fish store's owner - and managing the store for him. He didn’t seem to have any regret once he got to face Shiro’s White Ball one last time and entrusted his position to Guriemon, but thanks to Mikee’s efforts and the encouragement of the 'father' himself, he quickly comes back.]]
* BigBrotherInstinct: Towards Chibiemon. Even though he complains about the little guy the most, Hyoro is as horrified as anyone when Chibi climbs up an extremely high pole to catch the ball, then immediately rushes to and carries Chibi on his arms, comforting that the kid did well before Chibi passes out.
* HeroicRrod: He plunges himself into the backseat area in order to catch a ball and ends up heavily injured, requiring Mikeemon to take his place.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: "Jerk" is a little stretched out since he rarely acts hostile, but despite his hotheadedness he has a kind heart and is helpful. He even risked his own safety just to catch the ball for the team's sake.
* HairTriggerTemper: He can be angered easily and is yelling all the time.
* HotBlooded: Even more-so than Kuroemon, ranging from his passion to fight for the team, to getting angry at other team members (especially at Chibiemon) when they do something idiotic.
* RunningGag: Four times the GroinAttack happens in the series, three of them had him as the target.
* TeamDad: Can be seen as one for the Doras. He’s the tallest and often takes the role of a coach (then literally goes on to become the team’s coach in the sequel).

-> Position: Second baseman
-> Jacket number: 4

A member of the team who looks somewhat like a half-broken cat robot and works at the robot repair facility. He can extend his limbs by his own will to catch the ball, but sometimes bungles the springs up.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: He gets a chapter dedicated to him, about Hiroshi’s friend Retsu who tricked Doras into a match and purposely destroyed Pyoko’s body, then stole his body parts when “fixing” him to equip his robot Borosuke. Didn’t give up, even with an...incomplete body, Pyoko Determinator still went on with the match and became the coolest guy with only a wheel for body ever.
* Cloudcuckoolander: While most of the time he is very reliable, he can come out as being completely unglued, for example sending out his head to catch the ball instead of his gloved hand.
* EasilyDetachableRobotParts: He can be detached and reattached without many issues, though it also has a disadvantage: his body often falls apart from moderately forceful contacts due to its instability.
* ExtendableArms: Not only arms, but also legs, head and ears. His ability to send his hands some distance away from his body result in many fine plays, even when the ball looks like it's going to be a home run.

[[caption-width-right:350:Do not confuse him with another Toraemon.]]

-> Position: Central outfielder
-> Jacket number: 5

The center outfielder of the Doras, he was the fastest runner before Chibi comes along. He loves fishing, so he works in a fishing equipment rental shop.
----
* AffectionateNickname: His friends call him "Tora".
* EyesAlwaysShut: His eyes is always curled up. Along with his mouth, they open only when he excited, scared, or frightened.
* AscendedFanboy: Besides baseball, he's also a big fan of soccer and the Brazilian soccer player Ronaemon. Then he finally meets his idol...in a match to determine whether soccer or baseball is better, which pretty much troubles him. .
* GenkiBoy: He is cheerful, enthusiastic and never gives up.
* HeroesGoneFishing: Literally. Whenever he doesn’t play baseball, he goes fishing.
* NonIdleRich: Although not to Suzu's level, his family is rather wealthy, yet he never brags about it. Even Suzuemon was cocky at one point.
* PerpetualSmiler: Always has a cat smile on his mouth.
* SuperDrowningSkills: Can’t swim at all. In his first meeting with Hyoroemon, he was drowning on the pond.
* SuperSpeed: As the fastest member of Doras, he has strong feet and can reach the base in a blink. In one case he had puzzled the opposing team by doing a bunt that drops directly in front of the pitcher, and yet Toraemon was able to reach the first base before he is forced out.

-> Position: Catcher
-> Jacket number: 2

The team's catcher, an initial player member. After training, he can catch any kind of ball, whether it’s straight or curved. Because of his love for children, he works in a kindergarten.
----
* Acrofatic: The biggest of all, but he is also shown to be as athletic as any ordinary baseball player.
* BigEater: Always looks like he’s eating something. He can even take the children's candy to fill in his bottomless stomach.
* BigFun
* TheBigGuy: Among the whole cast of cat robots, he has biggest body. Because of his size, he accomplishes his role as the catcher well.
* FriendToAllChildren: He works in a kindergarten because he loves children. Though to human children only, not child robots (observed from his reaction to Chibiemon's curiosity when Chibiemon first met the team).
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While he is no doubt a good person, intentionally or not, Paku sometimes can say mean things, which often causes more troubles for Doras like when he angered Pokoemon.

-> Position: Right fielder
-> Jacket number: 0

The youngest team member and the right fielder in substitution for Guriemon. Still a child. He’s currently living with his grandfather.
----
* AchievementInIgnorance: Most of the time he uses a gadget, he’s messing around. Yet somehow it always helps the team with their current problem.
* AnimalLover: When Drump's "The King of Spade" hits a bird (it thinks the ball is the bait), Chibiemon gets angry and ventures plunging himself into Drump to protect the base.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: To the Doras. He is a crybaby, playful, childish, loves to play prank on people, but no one can actually hate him.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: The youngest and one of the newest members of Doras.
* BFS: Or in this case, Big Fucking Bat. He made it himself.
* BigDamnHero: Despite being taken into the team because they run out of option, he actually handles their asses more than once. One example is when he caught the perfect homerun by Hirai by climbing up the vertical fence and catching the ball as he jumped and fell.
* ConfusionFu: In order to make up for his petite body and lack of skill, Chibi often confuses and plays tricks on his opponents for an upper hand.
* ProneToTears: He can be a crybaby sometimes, but that is usually handled by Kuroemon giving him a dorayaki to chew/suck on to stop him from crying.
* RaisedByGrandparents: He lives with his grandpa near the Edogawa River, with no mention of his parents being made. It’s possible that he’s a robot assigned to the grandpa to give him a grandson figure.
* TagAlongKid: The team finds him floating in the Edogawa river, and takes them in as they’re so desperate for a substitute member. Turns out he has potential.
* TheTrickster: Likes to prank other members, notably Hyoroemon.

-> Position: Right fielder (former), Pitcher (in Hokkai Snow Fox), First baseman (when replacing Hyoroemon)
-> Jacket number: 9

The former right fielder of Doras, he later quits the team to study biology in Hokkaido and gets replaced by Chibiemon. Prior to that, he was a teacher at an exam furnace.

He suddenly returns as the pitcher of Hokkai Snow Fox, then returns again to replace Hyoroemon when he temporarily quits.
----
* Blackmail: The reason why he plays for Hokkai Snow Hokkai Snow Fox Fox and fights Doras is because Amoll was keeping his lifetime research - the Gusa mouse - hostage, and only returned it with the condition that he must defeat Doras.
* FriendOrIdolDecision: When he receives the announcement that he passed the exam to get into an elite school in Hokkaido he always wished to join, he has to make the decision between staying with Doras and leaving for Hokkaido, giving up baseball in process. He chooses the latter, but makes a point to mention that his heart always lies with Doras.
* LabcoatOfScienceAndMedicine: Fittingly wears one while working in his lab.
* OpaqueNerdGlasses: Wears a pair of round glasses with spiraling lines. Before he leaves Doras, they obscure his eyes. We finally get to see his eyes when he comes back as the opponent’s pitcher.
* NiceGuy: He is meek, kind and can’t bring himself to hurt others' feeling. When he faces Doras as member of the opponent’s team, he still cannot help but be friendly to them, and it’s revealed he doesn’t oppose them by his own will.
* PutOnABus: Not long after Doras' first glory, he left the team to further his study in Hokkaido. He later came back in volume 6 as a member of Hokkai Snow Fox in Amoll's order. He was then put on a bus again, then came back again in volume 20 to replace Hyoroemon who quits to help out his owner's fish store. It’s good that him doesn’t have carsick.
** BackForTheFinale: Oh, and he also shows himself in the final match between Doras and Whiters, to assemble the full team.
* TheSmartGuy: An outstanding genius with high IQ, Guri has saved the team from many tricky situations by applying knowledge and intelligence in analyzing the match's circumstance.
* TheStrategist: Thanks to his intelligence, he serves as a very effective strategist to Doras whenever he gets to play with them, and often leads the match in his team’s favor smoothly before some unexpected factors happen.
* SuperStrength: What he accidentally gained from his research, so his pitches are much stronger than before. He comes back to normal after being hit by a thunder.
* TookALevelInBadass: Despite his extraordinary intelligence, his actual baseball skill was unremarkable compared to other members. When he comes back, he seriously gives Doras a hard time with one of the reasons because they underestimated him.

TheMole Amoll sent in to disturb Doras from the inside and actually has no baseball skill; his awesome performance in front of Doras was a trick. After Amoll abandoned him, the Doras takes him in as a reserve member.
----
* BecomingTheMask: Left with nowhere to go after he failed the task Amoll gave him, Mike trained by himself in order to be accepted again. Witness his genuine love for baseball and determination, Edogawa Doras gives him a second chance and he becomes a true member of Doras, instead of a temporary mole like before.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Mikee instinctively reached out to Doras as his last chance to play baseball after Amoll dumped him, because he remembered how nice they were to him before his identity as TheMole got exposed, unlike Amoll who basically treated him like a disposable servant.
* BigDamnHeroes: Ended up doing this twice in the whole series.
** He managed to hit Amoll's Red Dragonfly ball and scored a three-run homerun, which gave Doras certain victory in the finals of Kabuto Mushi Cup against Akane Flyers.
** In Volume 20, he scored a hit that eventually gave Kuroemon a chance to deal the final blow against Bears, fulfilling Hyoro's absence at that time.
* BrokenPedestal: He used to look up to Amoll, but then Amoll cruelly abandoned him as soon as he failed the mission. Mikee then decided to take revenge on him by helping Doras win against Flyers as an official member of Doras.
* CombatPragmatist: He's not above cheating, deceiving and even robbing if the outcome is good for his side. Justified for the robbing however, since he’s taking back the Gusa mouse which Amoll stole from Guriemon to force the latter to take down Doras.
* Determinator: Wants to play baseball and will do anything to achieve his dream. When he’s abandoned by both Doras and Amoll, he still trains by himself for weeks, even in the rain, in attempt to be accepted and able to play baseball again.
* HeelFaceTurn: He changes his way and becomes a true member of Doras after his attempts to sabotage them failed and he was dumped like trash by Amoll.
* TheMole: Amoll sent him to destroy Doras from the inside. He failed as Doras discover his true intention and was casted out by both sides.
* PowerCopying: Using a gadget, Mikee can copy Amoll’s baseball skill and he used it to get into Doras. Later in series, he exploits the copied skills, making himself an imitation of Amoll to help Doras prepare to face Amoll in person.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His shortened name can be Mike, or Mikee if you include the “e” in “emon”.
* TrainingFromHell: Subjected himself to this in order to be accepted by Doras again. He hangs a ball on a tree branch and practices hitting it, over and over again at the same place for a whole week, even when the weather is raining heavily. It is this determination that allows Doras to see he really has passion and accept him.
