[[folder: The Players]]

! Alexander Thorne-The Exiled Baron

"'' I would rather commit a thousand crimes for myself, than one more for my father, or our elders.''"

The eldest son and heir of Baron Giovanni Thorne, one of the two crime lords competing over Vegas. Alex is drawn into the chronicle by an attempt on his life by a mind-controlled woman.

[[spoiler: The events of Act 1 of Edge Town end with Giovanni's death at Alex's hands. This puts him in command of a crumbling house indebted to House Raith and Maeve, on the verge of being crushed by the Madame. He barely managed to keep power with a desperate attack on the Madame, pushing her to the negotiation table. By the start of Act 2, Alex has fully assumed his father's place in the White Court and criminal underworld of Vegas, and seems determined to cement his control over the city, and destroy the Madame.]]

* AmbitionIsEvil: Zig-zagged. His ambition is both his primary flaw, and his primary virtue. It's driven him to be ruthless, but also makes him a survivor, and gives him a reason to protect Las Vegas from other threats.
%%* BadassInANiceSuit: Expensive suits are his preferred mode of dress.
* BerserkButton: Harm to his family, and hypocrisy about one's nature.
* BigBrotherInstinct: He tries so hard to look after his family. Pity they're very easy to use against him,
* BreakThemByTalking: Often attempted. Rarely succeeds. Mostly tends to end in him getting the crap beaten out of him.
* CombatPragmatist: Sets a rival White Court vampire on fire during a hunger duel with a bottle of strong liquor and a lighter, uses iron filings in a saline suspention against Knights of the Fae and changelings.
* CynicismCatalyst: Averted. No single event made him turn against his father. He'd call it a combination of factors that made him realize how monstrous Giovannni was. It could also just be an excuse for his ambition. In any case, his upbringing was tailored by his father to make him into the perfect White Courtier.
* CulturedBadass: Hums songs from ''Les Miserables'' in battle, knows how to fight with a sword and to play chess, can quote Tacitus on demand.
* CosmicPlaything: Been dicked around by Maeve, Frejya, and Odin, smashed through a window by Eir, and beaten to bloody pulp by Loki. And Frejya's just getting started.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He's White Court. Growing up among a court of emotionally manipulative vampires does not a happy childhood make.
* DeadpanSnarker: Goes for the whole party.
* DepravedBisexual: Plays up the image deliberately to get people to underestimate him, though he isn't personally picky.
* EmotionEater: White court.
* FaustianBargain: Currently, with [[spoiler: Freyja]], the White Court, and Maeve.
* FullyEmbracedFiend: Doesn't regret killing-or the need to prey upon-humans. However, he dislikes his elder's tendency to refer to humans as a herd, though that's more out of his belief that the White Court shouldn't lie to themselves about their nature.
* {{Greed}}: His primary flaw. Not lust or pride, as would seem obvious, but instead, his desire for control and possession over Las Vegas, his family.
* GunsAkimbo: With two Beretta 92fs and a Steyr TMP.
* HonorBeforeReason: Though he's usually contemptuous of the concept, in his duel with his father, he gives his father a blade, ensuring an even fight. [[spoiler: This nearly loses him the duel. Without the intervention of Terrence, he would have died.]]
* InternalReformist: To the White Court. Type 1
* LightningBruiser: Fast, strong, with a significant healing factor.
* MindControlDevice: The maker of several in the form of the collars.
* ManipulativeBastard: He's rather adept in keeping people who would normally kill him to work with him.
* MindRape: Victim of, thanks to the Madame, and Maeve. It's had long-term effects on his psych, mostly involving nightmares and insomnia.
* {{Misblamed}} Gabren blames the Thorne family for his cousins death, despite the fact they had basically nothing to do with it.
* TheMusketeer: When in direct combat, which he dislikes, uses a machete, pistol, and shotgun with reasonable proficiency
* MrFanservice: White Court, so by nature, he's very pretty, and has supernatural seductiveness
* NecessarilyEvil: To survive among the White Court, you have to be treacherous, manipulative, and ruthless.
* NeighborhoodFriendlyGangsters: His goal for the Thorne Syndicate.
* NobleDemon: To an extent. He honestly cares about people he's responsible for, and doesn't like pointless bloodshed. However, he's willing to do nearly anything to achieve those ends.
* OddFriendship: Considering who-and what-he is, most of his friendships end up being odd ones. His most notable one is with Terrence, who's idealism contrasts with Alex's ruthless brand of pragmatism.
* ParentalAbandonment: His mother hasn't been mentioned in any form, and hasn't appeared in the RP thus far.
* {{Patricide}}: [[spoiler:Killed his father.]]
* PragmaticVillainy: His style. No point killing without need, most people are more useful alive. He builds soup kitchens and homeless shelters along with drug dealing to make the community love him.
* RageAgainstTheHeavens: He tries this on Eir. [[CurbStompBattle It goes very, very badly. He was expecting a Valkyrie. She's a minor goddess.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He tries to cultivate loyalty among his people, and provides aid to the other [=PCs=], though his motives are of questionably altruistic.
* {{UST}}: Invoked with most people he interacts with. We've got Jarl, Gabren, Emilia, and half the rest of the party, and many of the [=NPCs=].
* SinisterSwitchblade: Carries a switchblade, and brace of throwing knives.
* TheStarscream & BastardUnderstudy: To his Father.
* TrainingFromHell: Grew up in the DecadentCourt of the White Court, and was modeled to the be the idea heir by his father.
* VampiresAreSexGods: Comes with the White Court package.
* WarriorPrince: He leads from the frontlines, in battle. When he's forced to. Usually while wishing he were somewhere else.
* YoungConqueror: He's out to carve an empire, magical and mundane.

! Emilia James - The Conflicted Changeling

A shy but genial young woman living in Las Vegas, a head of the local Paranet Chapter along with Julia Cho. She is not herself a Practitioner, but rather a half-Sidhe Changeling. She fights fiercely against having to make her Choice, and almost never resorts to her Fae Magic unless their is no other choice.

* BlessedWithSuck: Can use summer magic due to her fae parentage, but at the cost of her humanity.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome
* DisappearedDad: Meets him for the first time at Cassie Wilks' house.
* GreenThumb
* HeroicWannabe
* JumpedAtTheCall: After dropping out of college, immediately started working cases she became aware of through the paranet.
* JustShootHim: Emilia's response to any threat.
* KillItWithFire: Approach #2.
* MartyrWithoutACause: Following Arc 1, has pretty much accepted her fate as either dead or sidhe, and just wants to do as much good with her powers as possible while she can.
* MasterOfIllusion: Nowhere near a match for a full-blooded sidhe, but has a natural talent for veils and other illusions.
* UnskilledButStrong: Again, her magic potential.

! Jarl- The Monoc Intern
-> ''"We just had Chris Hemsworth playing the wimpiest Norseman since Hagar the Horrible.."''

An intern working for Monoc Securities. Descended from actual Vikings he is bound by the oath of his Ancestors in service to the [=Æ=]sir, a near scrape with death left him on the bad side of Hela- Norse Goddess of the Underworld- from which he was only saved by the blessing of Eir- the Valkyrie Bringer Of Hope. This coupled with his most recent shame of being responsible for the theft of Mjolir, has made his inevitable judgement to be "unworthy" leaving him in the grips of the Goddess who loathes him. For this reason he has come to Vegas, in hopes of recovering the Hammer and absolving his shame....Not matter the cost.

* AllThereInTheManual: His relationship with his older brother, mostly.
* AnIcePerson: Post-time skip, he's picked up a few tricks from Skadi.
* AnimalMotifs: Subtle but present - Contrasting Tim's raven motifs, representing intelligence and wisdom, Jarl's motif is mostly a wolf motif, a pack animal with a different intelligence, and a powerful predator. It is also another animal associated with Odin, especially in his manifestations as a war god (Geri and Freki often accompanied him on battlefields.) It mostly manifests when he grins.
* AntiHero: Is more than willing to cooperate with White Court vampires or gangsters if it means getting the job done. Also isn't beyond using extreme measures.
* AwesomeButImpractical: He can use lightning spells, but they often tire him out much faster than any of his other spells.
* BargainWithHeaven: Did this in order to survive something that otherwise would have killed him.
* BerserkButton: Harming the people he cares about. Also, anyone bringing up horned helmets.
* BlessedWithSuck: [[spoiler:Sure, he's got a mantle of power now, but it's ostracized him from Asgard (and thus Monoc,) people aren't sure if they can trust him, and the mantle tries to subvert him.]]
* BloodKnight: It's in his [[{{Pun}} blood.]]
* BlowYouAway: His second primary element.
* BlueBlood: A distant relation of an old family of Viking Jarls (hence his name.) Largely irrelevant - he's in the position he's in because he chose it, not because of any political influence - of which his family has none.
* BoltOfDivineRetribution: His function in Asgard, for the most part.
* BowAndSwordInAccord: His two main weapons are a sword and a longbow.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Will aid others at great personal expense without flinching.
* CoolSword: [[http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1c/Viking_sword_collection.jpg/800px-Viking_sword_collection.jpg One of these.]] It doubles as his spell focus.
* CulturedWarrior: Has quoted Shakespeare on a few occasions, and otherwise has a tendency to spout pop culture references.
* DeadpanSnarker: Often, especially when he's under pressure. It usually ends with him being in trouble.
* DestructiveSavior: Almost as talented as Tim in that regard.
* EasyRoadToHell: Anyone who doesn't die a warrior, or a warrior who has been dishonored, goes to Hel instead of Valhalla. Jarl will go to the former if he does not prove himself.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Blowing up a door to a public library with [[ShockAndAwe lightning.]]
* {{Foil}}: To some extent, to Tim. Tim is a perpetual RulesLawyer and the resident SquishyWizard, using magic primarily based on scientific forces. Jarl is a MagicKnight with a tendency to try and skewer the rules, and his magic is primarily based on the classical elements and Norse mysticism.
* GuileHero: Occasionally shows shades of this.
* [[HeavenSeeker Valhalla Seeker]]: A major part of his driving motivation is proving himself worthy of going to [[WarriorHeaven Valhalla.]]
* HeroWithBadPublicity: Not the most popular of the players, particularly with powerful supernatural entities.
* IndyPloy: Pulls these on a few occasions.
* HornyVikings: A modern-day example.
* KnightTemplarBigBrother: Towards Nadya, even though they technically aren't blood relations.
* MagicKnight: Uses his magic as his primary combat means, but is also a very accomplished swordsman in his own right. Tends to rely less on his sword and more on his bow now, however.
* MakingASplash: Uses water magic as a supplement to lightning and air.
* MartyrdomCulture: Like Vikings of old, his soul ascends to Valhalla if he dies an honorable death in combat. At least it would have until he was dishonored.
* TheMedic: Not an entirely straightforward example: Eir does most of the healing, he just acts as a channel for her magic.
* OddFriendship: With Nadya.
* OhMyGods: Tends to swear by Hel a lot.
%%* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: A [[HornyVikings viking.]]
* ShockAndAwe: Lightning is his nuclear option because it drains a lot of his magic.
* SummonBiggerFish: So far, he has summoned [[BloodKnight Thor,]] [[TheChessmaster Odin,]] [[HotGod Freya,]] [[AnIcePerson Skadi,]] and, on numerous occasions, [[ExpositionFairy Eir.]]
* ThePowerOfLove: Is touched by true love, anathema to the White Court. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, she died and ascended to Valhalla.]]
* TokenReligiousTeammate: Well, he -does- work for Odin.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Kat.
* [[spoiler: WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: The mantle is already starting to assert its influence on him. As time goes on, he fears it will attempt harder.]] Subverted in that it's not [[spoiler: driving him insane]] so much as changing him, and that change might end up for the better.
* YouNeedToGetLaid: The subject keeps [[{{Pun}} coming]] up.

! Katelyn Katsumi “Kat” Kato - The Scion Demon Hunter
-> ''I am the sword against the fang, I am the blade against the claw. I am the warrior who stands against the darkness preying on the weak.''

Once she was a more or less normal Japanese-American Teenager in Boston. This ended when a group of Demons attacked her family at her birthday. Only she survived, to learn that her parents were offspring of a Japanese clan of Demon hunters and that they weren't fully human, but in fact half-human and half-demon. After this, she was taken in by the clan and trained in their ways. Now she follows her bloodlines example, by hunting demons and protecting humanity from the predators of the night.

* AbsurdlySharpBlade: Her katana is sharp and almost indestructible. It has not been forged using normal means.
** And now she got a matching wakizashi.
* BloodKnight: Has those tendencies and is aware of them. She tries to use them instead of being used by them, though.
* TheClan: The Sayomi Clan.
* CuteLittleFangs: Not overly so, but somewhat noticeable if she smiles.
* CharacterTic: Tends to lick over the above fangs and corner of her lips before combat.
* ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve: Her clan believes in their mission to the point where they clan empower their blades with faith magic.
* CoolBike: A tuned jet black Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R.
* DangerousSixteenthBirthday: A group of demons decided to play birthday party crashers.
* DemonSlaying: Her clans profession.
* DualWielding: UsefulNotes/MiyamotoMusashi style. Katana and wakizashi.
* EverybodyWasKungFuFighting: The clan was instructed sometimes in the 13th century in it. Though they are not unknowing in more “modern” martial arts.
* TheFettered: She and her whole clan fit it quite well.
* {{Foil}}: To Nadya. She's TheFettered to Nadya's [[TheUnfettered Unfettered]]. Both lost parents, but Nadya lost them when she was young and grew up on her own, while Kat lost them when she was older and got support from her family. Nadya has a direct fighting style with less skill and training and more instinct and brute force while Kat's fighting style focuses on skill and training and less on instinct and brute force.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Is a Scion, the offspring of a human and a being of the Nevernever. Or rather her whole clan are the offspring of a human and a {{Youkai}}
* HealingFactor: Given some time she can recover from things that would hospitalise normal humans. Though it has limits.
* HimeCut: The clans hair stylists are kind of conservative.
%%* HunterOfHerOwnKind: Hanyou who hunts supernatural beings who attack humans.
* IaijutsuPractitioner: Kat's style involves a lot of ''Iaido'' and ''Battojutsu''.
* InHarmsWay: While clamping down on it during combat, in her free time Kat does like adrenaline rousing activities.
* InterspeciesRomance: If she wants to have children one day, she can only choose normal humans. With another of the clan the results would be [[EnfantTerrible unfortunate.]] [[SuperpoweredEvilSide very]] [[{{Youkai}} unfortunate]]. She herself avoided being that, being the child of two Clan members. Not that the clan is taking any more changes with her.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Her clan fully agrees.
* LightningBruiser: She can dish it out, can take it to a degree and is ‘’very’’ fast.
* TheLadette: In her offtime, and outside of the clan, she is more masculine than feminine in behavior.
* LadyOfWar: She aims to be this in battle. It is also her clans ideal for its female warriors.
* MartyrdomCulture: Her clan believes in a live in service, duty and honor. Living long comes decidedly second after this.
* PortalCut: Her wakizashi is capable of doing it with a partial portal to the Nevernever.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: She is half-caucasian, half japanese on ‘’both’’ side of her parents. This is one of the results.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Her clan can apparently live comparably to a Wizard and unlike them retain vitality longer. Because of that Kat looks very early twenties even if she herself is more end twenties.
* RealWomenDontWearDresses: A cultural thing. As a warrior of the clan she wears traditionally male clothing. Averted when wearing more modern styles.
* {{Samurai}}: Of a kind.
* {{Sarashi}}: Wears a red one made out of [[ShoutOut Demon-]][[Manga/InuYasha Rat hair.]]
* StatuesqueStunner: Is about 5'10'' tall, without her combat boots on.
* StrongerWithAge: Seems to be the case for her clan. Some of the Clan elders are really strong. Having centuries to train your skill also helps.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Also a sign of her Hanyou heritage.
* SuperSenses: She has perfect night sight, a moderately better sense of smell and great hearing. The {{Youkai}} who originated her bloodline ‘’has’’ been some kind of predator, so justified.
* SuperSpeed: She is fast. ‘’Very’’ fast.
* SuperStrength: Not ridiculously so, but she packs far more strength than her [[MusclesAreMeaningless body build]] does suggest. If combined with her SuperSpeed she appears even stronger
* WaifFu: Appears like a slender, atlethic japanese-caucasian young woman.

! Leon Lichtenberg - The Novice Warden of the White Council
->''"Featherfall, bitches!"''

A young hotshot Warden, trained at Camp Kaboom, and tempered by the liberal "Harry Dresden" school of thought that says "Fire first, ask questions when convenient". More then a little naive and idealistic, prone to making rookie mistakes and getting offensive when it is not the time. He has a unshakable faith in the Laws and strong sense of justice, which many believe might make him more into the next Morgan rather then the next Harry. His parents are both low-level talents that knew next to nothing about the supernatural world. His father has superhuman luck and makes a living as a martial arts instructor while his mother is an empath and works as a psychologist.

* BewareTheQuietOnes: He doesn't talk much but in his first taste of real combat he takes out a Winter Sidhe and an ogre.
* FightClubbing: He has gotten in some underground fights to keep his hand to hand skills sharp and for some extra cash.
* FightsLikeANormal: Leon will commonly do most of his fighting with his fists, guns, or swords and only supplement them with magic when needed.
* FullContactMagic: He has martial arts training and his first instinct in combat is typically to punch his opponent.
* KungFuWizard: He typically uses his martial arts without mixing it in with his magic.
* LightningGun: His lightning based focus is a metal toy ray gun that is also capable of storing electrical energy and firing it when needed.
* MindOverMatter: His primary form of magical offense includes hurling raw force around as either blasts or blades. He is also capable of full blown telekinesis.
* NaiveNewcomer: This is his first foray into Wardenly duties and he's just now learning how dark the world can be.
* OverlyLongName: His full name is Leon Wilhelm Johannes Wolfgang Lichtenberg.
* ShockAndAwe: His second favorite form of combat magic. Be wary of him during a lightning storm.
* ShoutOut: Several of Leon's evocations are shoutouts
** [[VideoGame/{{Xenosaga}} Erdekaiser]]
** [[Franchise/TheMatrix Matrize]]
** [[Franchise/StarWars Lichtsabel]]
** [[Franchise/StreetFighter Wogenfaust]]
* SkilledButNaive: He has very little world experience but has plenty of training making him a capable combatant.
* TrickedOutGloves: He wears a gauntlet like glove on his left hand as a shield and minor utility focus and a lighter metal plated glove as his force and elemental magic focus.
* WalkingTechbane: Like all wizards in the [=DresdenVerse=] but he [[{{Wangst}} wangsts]] about it more then most.
* WouldHurtAChild: Leon is perfectly willing to fight a bunch of kids even attempting to use lethal force against them when they attack his appartment. Subverted at the same time when he's completely unwilling to torture one of them for information despite threatening to do so.

! Terrence Talbot- The Guard Werewolf
--> "''I'm just too dumb to keep my nose outta trouble and it's probably going to get me killed. Least now I've got Valhalla as a fallback plan.''"

The plucky local werewolf, who quite literally stumbled into the entire affair when his first Paranet meeting ended in a battle with the ''disir'' and he simply....inserted himself into the situation, volunteering to help take down the Bloody Marry Killer, prevent the coming turf war, and rescue Cassie Wilks....literally out of the goodness of his heart.

* AmbiguouslyBrown: In human form.
* {{Animorphism}}: Into a wolf.
* AscendedFanboy: Got a magic book for his birthday that turned out to be real.
* BewareTheHonestOnes: Thoroughly derailed Alex's plans for the Paranet by encouraging them to learn to defend themselves.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Terrence can disembowel an enemy with his teeth one moment and try to cheer up that enemy's surrendering partner the next.
* BigFriendlyDog: Tries to pass as this in wolf form. It doesn't necessarily work so well.
* TheChewToy: Gets beaten up an awful lot, often due to his own recklessness.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: As his quote states. He'll try to save an innocent bystander even when he knows it's a bad idea.
* DefiantToTheEnd: When he wakes up captured and at the mercy of an enemy he expects to kill him, he responds with insults and a BreakingSpeech attempt.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: And completely oblivious to the effect it has on his passengers.
* EvilIsEasy: Claims this to Puck, while defending his choice to try and do good.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Earns half a GlasgowGrin courtesy of Fenrir early on in Arc II.
* GroinAttack: Subjected to one on two separate occasions.
* InformedAbility: During the first arc, when he was the [[LeeroyJenkins Sneaky]] Werewolf.
* JumpedAtTheCall: He's not part of any supernatural organization and has no particular stake in any of the problems threatening Vegas. He isn't even from the city. He just refuses to let monsters or serial killers get away with hurting people if he can stop it.
* LeeroyJenkins: Is perfectly willing to attack enemies far out of his league, and triggers traps more often than the others.
* NaiveNewcomer: Initially knows virtually nothing about magic beyond his own abilities and pop culture.
* TheNondescript: In human form.
* TheNoseKnows: Uses his wolf form to track by scent.
* OddFriendship: With Alex, after [[spoiler: he helps the vampire kill the former Baron.]]
* SilentSnarker: He has his moments in wolf form.
* TrainingThePeacefulVillagers: Has started doing this to the Paranet, along with Emilia. He doesn't want them to have to rely on any other faction for their protection.
* WouldNotHurtAChild: Originally this extended to the Lost Boys. After some time [[spoiler: and being captured by them]], he began to reconsider.

! Timotheus von Hochberg - The White Council Librarian

White Council Wizard hailing from Germany.\
A contemporary apprentice of the infamous Warden Dresden, Tim is part of the Councils ongoing effort to research and archive magic. Thus he travels the world, collecting the research data of the various scattered council members. Since the Battle of Chitzchen Itza and the rise of the Fomor however, he has been called to help the Paranet more often than not.
After the Battle of Treasure Island, he has gotten some more education in Oslo.

* BadassBookworm: This is a librarian. A librarian that scares ''disir.'' Probably the most baddass of bookworms among the players.
* BerserkButton: The Nazis and Heinrich Kemmler.
* CrazyPrepared: To a degree. He has no talent for the IndyPloy and so tends to plan ahead.
* CreepyCrows: He conjures Ravens, getting the idea from reading Literature/{{Krabat}} during his youth.
* DeadpanSnarker: To a degree.
* FascinatingEyebrow: [[AllThereInTheManual Too much Star Trek when he was a kid.]]
* {{Foil}}: To Harry Dresden in many ways. They are more or less polar opposites in their approach to both magic and conflicts. But that dosen't mean that Tim can't throw some serious magic around when he wants too...
* GentlemanWizard: He tries to be this.
* GeometricMagic: Uses circles a lot in his magic, as he is not that strong in evocation. And other uses.
* GlassCannon: Once his shields fail he can't take it well. Leave him alone and he will laser you dead.
* InHarmsWay: He could have a nice desk job in Edinburgh by now. He prefers his current life on the road.
* LightEmUp: Besides gravity, he also uses light. Combining them gets him into [[EnergyWeapon Frickin' Laser Beams]] territory.
* MagicStaff: Averted. He uses an metal-cased Book as staff-equivalent. His "Staff" is a prototype "up-scaled" version of his Lasing Rod.
** Played straight from Arc 2 onwards, though.
* MinoredInAsskicking: He'd rather get conflicts solves without fighting, but uses his knowledge of physics, magic, and energy to go toe-to-toe with far more powerful enemies if necessary.
* MyCard: Likes to hand out [[http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/3171/fs37.png business cards.]] Beats having to introduce you out loud as Wizard.
* NeuralImplanting: He can do this with most kinds of information, most reliable with normal text on paper. How much he gets depends on how good he understands the subject. [[MundaneUtility And watch DVD's in his mind.]]
* NoodlePeople: Not ''quite'' as tall as dresden, but still 200 cm tall (6 foot 7).
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: His equivalent to a Blasting Rod is called "[[EnergyWeapon Lasing Rod]]".
* OverlyLongName: Timotheus Johann Georg von Hochberg.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: He's a Wizard. And his Laser beams can wreck buildings.
* PretentiousLatinMotto: [[JustifiedTrope Justified]], as latin is the official language of the council. He has the following on his business card:
-->''Scientia potentia est. Potentia auctoritas est"[[note]]"Knowledge is power. Power is responsibility.[[/note]]
* RobeAndWizardHat: Or in his case: Overcoat and felt hat.
* RenaissanceMan: He has a degree in law, subscribes to physics journals and is a wizard. It can only get more from here.
* ScienceMarchesOn: Tim uses gravity directly, instead of a subset of Earth Magic. He also uses the Electromagnetic spectrum for his light magic.
* SeenItAll: To a degree. He spents a lot of time travelling the world on council work.
* TheSmartGuy: Among the Wizards. The Wardens are combat specialist, he is a more "classic" generalist. He is also one of the Council Librarians.
* SquishyWizard: He isn't half as durable (or stubborn) as most Wardens.
* WalkingTechbane: He is a Wizard. Comes with the territory.
* WaveMotionGun: [[spoiler:The most potent form of his Electromagnetic magic involves a thaumaturgic powered GRASER beam powerfull enough to throw entire armies into disarray. It takes preparation and is not easily repeatable though.]]
* TheVonTropeFamily: His last name is "von Hochberg" not "Hochberg" or anything else.

! Annette Wagner - the Alchemist
-->''"Does explaining wh-what we do when we n-need to do it make it any more sensible?"''

A small-talent daughter of a Witch who has made a living off of alchemy. She came to Italy to visit her friend, Caleb, only to have the trip detoured by the party literally dropping out of the sky. Her son, [[ChildMage David]], is the product of her five-year relationship with a Red Court that left her paranoid of practically everything that isn’t a vanilla mortal, but at the same time lends her to be more understanding toward the monsters of the magical world than she lets on.

She winds up working for Alexander Thorne with Ayda when he offers them both safety.

----

* AbsurdlyYouthfulMother: Of the “older than they look”/young mother variety. She had David when she was only 20 and is nearing 30 now, but still looks remarkably young.
* ActionMom: With a debatable amount of “action”. See MamaBear below.
* AlchemyIsMagic: Her go-to form of magic, combat or practical or otherwise.
* BerserkButton: Harming or threatening David is a surefire way to get acid in the face. Or worse.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: For reasons seen above.
* BlindWithoutEm: Subverted. Anne’s glasses are for her being nearsighted, but she can still see pretty well without them. Reading anything farther away than her nose is more of a problem.
* TheCaretaker / CombatMedic: Heals party members and civilians in and out of combat and worries restlessly about the well-being of all her magical friends.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: While her childhood was just fine, her five years in a Red Court venom induced coma has done exactly what one would expect to her psyche.
* FriendInTheBlackMarket: Turns out to be something of this. Hey, some of those alchemy ingredients aren’t legal, or at the very least are impossible to get. She has her ways.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Heals and helps others selflessly? Check. [[GoodParents Loves and respects her son]]? Check. Makes potions that simulate the feeling of acid and throws them into the enemy’s eyes? Kicks trapped people into open flame? Works for [[TokenEvilTeammate Alexander Thorne]]? Check, check, and CHECK!
* TheInsomniac: Even when she’s not hyped-up on her Super Coffee potions Anne gets shades of this. When she does crash, she crashes hard.
* KindheartedCatLover: She owns a cat named [[ADogNamedDog Kitty]] whom she loves very much.
* LipstickLesbian: Of the “chapstick” variety. Her preference in women also tends to be closer to this stereotype.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: David is this for her. The feeling is mutual.
* MadScientist: She has to have a few screws loose to think playing with liquid Dragon Fire is a good idea.
* MamaBear: She tracked down an age-old insane Black Court, went against an entire house of Red Court vampires, Puck, and his Lost Boys, then burned said house to the ground. All to save her son.
* MessyHair: Not that her hair isn’t clean, it’s just a complete mess of curls that it’s practically a hedge. It doesn’t help that she likes it at past-waist-length. She may as well have a mane.
* OnlySaneEmployee: Feels this way around the Thornes, with the exception of Ayda. Not that she doesn’t have her moments.
* ProperlyParanoid: Even with the Red Court gone, Annette doesn’t let her guard down often. Sadly this comes from her personal experiences over the last ten years.
* RecoveredAddict: Of Red Court venom.
* [[TheShortGuyWithGlasses The Short Girl with Glasses]]: She’s the shortest in the party, standing at five feet on the nose.
* SpeechImpediment: She speaks with a v-very obvious st-stutter.
* SupportPartyMember: Most of her potions have to do with healing, hiding, and otherwise non-combat oriented tasks, and she doesn’t like using guns or weapons unless in self-defense. Except for a few instances, Annette is usually this.

! Maximilian "Max" Laran - Friendly Assassin
--> "''Fire and steel.''"

Feared and respected, Max has been involved in some of the best known (as well as covert) military operations in the world, and is feared as a ruthless and relentless assassin. Well trained, experienced, and wielding a small arsenal, he is one of the best guns for hire in the supernatural world...when he's not teaching high school history or being nagged by his wife to change light bulbs.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: Young* men with the ability to heal from any wound have a tendency to find themselves on the battlefield, and Max has managed to serve in multiple armies and take part in every major battle of the 20th century; some before then.
* ColdSniper: Anxiety or remorse don’t factor in when he’s behind the gun.
* CombatPragmatist: You don’t live long in the world by being nice, even less if you’re stupid. Max believes in killing as quickly and efficiently as possible; usually from a distance.
* ConsummateProfessional: The early 20’s are an interesting time for a man. Even more so when he’s growing up in the 1800’s, heals from every injury, and can’t get sick. Throw in natural aggression and a broken morality system and you have a recipe for disaster. It’s taken some time, but Max has managed to calm down and control himself. Supernatural skills help when they’re backed by wisdom, skill, and maturity.
* CrazyPrepared: Regularly goes on missions with a small arsenal, having learned the hard way that it’s better to have it and not need it.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Max is a scion, born to a human mother and a non-human father.
* PlayingWithFire: Lighting cigarettes without a lighter? Check. Strolling out of a burning building without clothes? Check. Razing your castle to the ground, taking your gold, and guarding your princess? ''Maybe later.''
* IGaveMyWord: A mans word is his bond, and Max will follow a contract to the letter; no exceptions.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Supernatural heritage aside, one tends to become exceptionally proficient after a few centuries of practice.
* MoreDakka: Suppressive fire from a M240L not working? Lob some 40mm for flavor, garnish with a LAW.
* ProfessionalKiller: Assassin for hire.
* SuperSenses: Enhanced to super human levels; which sounds awesome until you realize how bad most people smell.
* HappilyMarried: After a century or so of killing people for money, he finally settled down, married a good woman and is in the process of considering children.
* AntiHero: He does bad things to bad people; sometimes good people.
* DisappearedDad: He’s not gone; just in hiding.
* KillItWithFire: It’s an option, but he’s highly hesitant to go down that route.
* NeckSnap: One of his preferred methods of killing at close range, the other being a blade.
* NeverBringAKnifeToAGunFight: Unless you’re behind them and they don’t know you’re there.
* BerserkButton: Threaten his wife; it will end well for all involved.
* OldSoldier: 219 years old and a veteran of quite a few major battles of the 20th century.
* RetiredMonster: A mercenary is his past life, Max has done horrible things in the name of god, country and coin. Fortunately he managed to find a good woman, settle down, and now teaches high school history.
* GunsAkimbo: Did it a few times in the Norway arc, though he despises it as flashy and ineffective.
* HealingFactor: Immune to sickness and able to recover from serious injuries with ease, he’s not too keen on testing it’s upper limits. A s such, he’s a firm believer in body armor.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: 219 as of last count.
* SuperSpeed: He’s a freak; possibly the fastest kid alive.
* SuperStrength: Able to snap necks, break bones and kick down steel doors with ease, he’s not planning on trying to bench press a building.

[[folder: The "Family" Of Madame Colette]]

! Madame Anya Colette, Marquise de Las Vegas

The crime Queen of Las Vegas, both magically and mundanely. She has a long and sorted history with the White Council and it's Wardens, dating back to pre-revolutionary France. Her talent ranks with the upper-crust of the White Council, but that is not what makes her a dangerous woman. What makes her a dangerous woman is fierce intellect, ruthless commitment to her goals, and complete lack of ethics. For the last three decades she has given nothing but headache to the Council that have tried to meddle in her affairs, and shown nothing but contempt for the Laws of Magic. Viewing herself as the founder of a new empire comparable to Rome, in her heart she believes herself beholden to nothing save her own code of morals, and her vision of the world....Whatever that might be.

Unmatched in Nerumancy, save by her daughter Antoinette, she keeps a elite group enthralled of body guards, special agents, and harem boys refereed to as "The Rose Guard", legally only by the virtue that each chose enthrallment over free will of their own agency. She considers herself reasonable and just, and rules with a fair if iron fist over Las Vegas.

* ActionMom[=/=]ActionFashionista: The Madame is stated to be on tier with the Senior Council- though she prefers subtlety and manipulation to get what she wants, it's no secret that in a fight she can take apart almost anyone that comes swinging for her and especially for her daughter. And she will look good doing it.
** Interestingly the Madame is noted as wearing complex Renaissance, Victorian, and Regency era dresses every time she's described- except when entering battle, for which she wears a simple pants suit- still stylish but far more conservative and reserved.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: While scene as beyond the height of evil most of the time- and certainly using dark means to achieve her goals, the Madame undertakes very few ''actually'' evil acts while on screen, and her motivations are shrouded in uncertainty most of the time.
* AffablyEvil
* ArchEnemy: To the Baron. She toasted his [[spoiler:death]] with champagne she had saved from her teenage years.
* TheBeautifulElite[=/=]WickedCultured: She lived in some of the culture high spots of the world at their greatest (and worst times)- and it shows.
* BlueBlood
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: The form her MindRape takes when using it on someone who can fight back. She has no qualms about using a persons emotional weaknesses and baggage to do them damage.
** Her second and [[spoiler:final]] such battle, with Alex goes....interestingly.
* TheBaroness: Her official title is "Marquise" after a French tradition of nobility, but otherwise she fits the archetype to a T: being a mix of both Sexpot and Rosa Klebb.
* BrainwashingForTheGreaterGood: So she believes.....possibly.
* TheChessmaster: Survived gambiting with [[spoiler:Loki]] longer then any other person on record- and like Giovanni, though it took her death, she may have yet one upped him.
* [[DarkActionGirl Dark Action]] [[ActionMom Mom]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Shrouded in mystery- all we know is she had some kind of connection to Kemmler while living in pre-Nazi Germany- somehow all tangled up in why she hates the White Council, fears for her daughter's safety so deeply, and was driven to become a Crime-Queen and make deals with beings like [[spoiler: Puck and Loki.]]
* DarkIsEvil: Most of her clothing is in the darker end of the color spectrum: Most commonly purple, black, and a more muted red then her daughter.
* [[spoiler:DeathByIrony: Her end comes at the hands of ''Issac'' a low level talent with a gift of Compulsion whom she had all but forced into the collar- ordering her to kill herself. To weakened from dealing with the "real" threats, she never saw it coming and never had the chance to defend against it.]]
* TheDeterminator: Kept on fighting and scheming [[spoiler: right to the moment Issac compelled her to shoot herself.]]
* TheDon: A female variant.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes
* EverythingsSparklyWithJewelry: Wears a lot- though justified as most are magical focai or charms.
* EvilMatriarch
* FreudianExcuse: Her daughter's safety.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen
* GorgeousPeriodDress: Her attire most of the time.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard:[[spoiler:Anya provided the opening for her own death by keeping Issac locked into the Rose Guard when his choice to put on the collar, was all but forced. Her attempting to gain leverage on the party and make a point about her power was her ultimate undoing- as she never imagined that Issac could RulesLawyer his way out of her control- even in the spirit of it.]]
* IceQueen
* KnightTemplarParent: What she does, she does for Reinette.
* KickTheDog: Did she need to do all that to Alex's mind?
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: Admittedly, the one time she has to prep for combat she chooses a more practical manner of dress- but she has still gone toe-to-toe in her complicated period dresses.
* KickTheMoralityPet: Kidnapping [[spoiler:Bethany]]- set of alarm bells even with her own daughter. Though she was compelled to fulfill her favor to [[spoiler:Puck.]]
* [[spoiler:KilledOffForReal: The results of a extended VillainousBreakdown.]]
* ManipulativeBitch
* MindRape: One of her specialties.
* MindControlDevice: The Collars she made for the Rose Guard.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: Roughly in the same tier as ''[=McCoy=]''.
* LoveRedeems: Her love for her daughter is maybe her only truly selfless quality- and it is the one that she bases her entire dark hearted existence off of, for better or worse.
* NobleDemon: She's incredibly old-world and traditional in terms of Supernatural affairs, something that contrasts with Giovanni's "new wave" style of doing things heavily.
* ProperLady
* ReallyGetsAround: Less so then her daughter, but the Rose Guard is ''her'' harem too.
* SilkHidingSteel: Polite, soft mannered, even sweet at times- but beneath it she has a soul tough as nails, and a determination of pure steel.
* SmugSnake: She indulges, from time to time.
* {{Socialite}}
* TheUnfettered: No matter what it takes, no matter who she has to kill, MindRape, or maim, no matter what enemies she has to face or deals she has to make, she ''will'' create a safe world for her daughter.
* [[spoiler:VillainousBreakdown: With her enemies closing in on all sides, Loki finally prepped to out-play her, and on the outs with her daughter, Anya all but literally snaps.]]
* VillainousValor: Whatever else the woman did- she never gave in and never gave up. [[spoiler:Fighting literally to her final moments, knowing she was out played and doomed.]]
* WouldHurtAChild: [[spoiler:Part of what ultimately does her in- by making her daughter question her morals at last.]]
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Not even she is immune to the damage that Mind Magic does to your sanity.

! Lady Antoinette "Reinette" Colette
--> "That's the great secret of mankind; that they are slaves to womankind."

The daughter and heir of Madame Anya Colette, vicious, cunning, and absolutely loyal to her mother. Herself a Wizard-tier power, with a gift for nerumancy that surpasses her mother, she does most of they heavy lifting in her mother's criminal outfit now a days. She is more open and questioning then her mother, to a degree. She weaponizes her sexuality at the drop of a hat, and is not afraid to lie, cheat, or murder to achieve her goals.

%%* ActionGirl[=/=]DarkActionGirl
* ActionFashionista: Prefers a more modern and sleek style of dress that compares heavily with her mother's Renaissance and Victorian era fashion choices.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: Reinette has her father's dark coloring, in comparison to her mother's fiery red hair.
* TheBaroness: Much like her mother, though she is more Sexpot then Rosa.
* TheBeautifulElite: Her entire "family"- to a higher degree then the Thornes, perpetuate a socialite-like attitude and grace. This is a product of being raised by Anya- who ''was'' a socialite elite back in pre-revolutionary France.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Alex for the longest time. [[spoiler: Being shoot put a damper on that however]].
* BirdsOfAFeather: Again with Alex. Their outlooks and upbringings are similar enough that they can see more the a little of each other, but their fundamental differences are larger then their common ground.
%%* BlueBlood
%%* BrainwashingForTheGreaterGood
%%* CapuletCounterpart
* [[DaddysLittleVillain Mommy's Little Villian]][=/=]OverLordJr: She reveres her mother and firmly believes in the ideals and methods behind their empire. She has spent her entire life in dedication to The Family and being primed to take over.
* DarkMistress: To Alex for a time. At least until [[spoiler: he shoots her in the back]].
* [[spoiler:FoolForLove: Reinette went into her relationship all but signing a waver acknowledging it would go badly- but was simply to romantic to let go of the idea of their liaison. That said, she never expected it to blow up as horrifically as it did. (And then, neither did Alex).]]
* {{Foil}}: To Alexander. They have quite a few similarities, but their big key difference is that at the end of the day Antoinette would do anything for her mother, and Alexander would take any chance to kill his father.
* HumiliationConga: All of Arc 2's second half has been one horror after another for her. Only time will tell if she has some bite left in her, or if [[spoiler: Alex truly has won the city for good]].
%%* LoveHurts
* LoveRedeems: [[spoiler: The deep set irony that Reinette was on this path- even defying her mother for the sake of Alexander's sister- when Alex betrayed her for the crime of wanting to minimize the damage their protracted war was causing- is only matched by the irony that if not for Loki's intervention and Bethany's triple kidnapping, Alex and Reinette might have managed a peaceful accord to share Vegas.]]
%%* MindRape
%%* ProperLady
* ReallyGetsAround: Has. Her. Own. ''Harem''.
* SixthRanger: From time to time, though it's almost a certain fact that she's going to stab them in the back sooner or latter.
* UndyingLoyalty: To her mother- while entirely possible that their relationship does have those same flavors of Justin and Harry/Fitz and Baldy- every scrap of evidence indicates that their relationship is one of deep love and mutual support. What is known is that above all else- Rienette will stay loyal to her mother.
* TheVamp: Not that Alex was all that virtues to begin with.
* VillainessesWantHeroes: Though, to be fair, the definition of "hero" is applied loosely.
%%* WickedCultured

! Adam
One of The Madame's "Rose Guard". He is a favorite of the Madame, unwavering loyal, and unflinchingly brave in the face of danger. He would gladly throw away his life for "The Family", but despite his lack of Free Will, he is still capable of advising and questioning the Madame, one of the reasons he is a favorite. He does not like Isaac [=McCann=], in no small part because he has realized that the Madame wishes him to wear the Silver Collar as well, and he doesn't trust the consultant.

* {{Brainwashed}}[=/=][[spoiler:BrainwashedAndCrazy]]
* [[spoiler: BigBad: Of Arc 1- though he and Jenna Sommers where mere puppets of Loki and the Disir..]]
%%* BloodMagic
* DyingAsYourself: [[spoiler:A particularly sick version- he dies free of mind control despite having no desire to, disowned and disgraced before The Madame he idolized.]]
%%zce* CrazyJealousGuy: Partly why he isn't a fan of Alex.
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler: Died cast out of the Family, and rejected and disgraced before the Madame whom he all but worshiped, and who had become the Blood Marry Killer in the first place for.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: It would appear he played his little associate like a fiddle.
* NotBrainwashed: He is nowhere near as brainwashed as we thought he was.
* UnwantedAssistance: His [[spoiler:ultimate scheme, driven by Loki, leads to a major hit to The Madame's credibility. Of course, The Baron was equally as to blame for events as she was- but Adam was her responsibility and was driven by trying to help her reclaim complete control of the city.]]
* SycophanticServant: With shades of HappinessInSlavery- though he is more opportunist and ambitious then most.

! Lee
Another of the Rose Men, like the others unthinkingly selfless and unshakably dedicated. He threw his life away for complete strangers without a second thought because the Madame had ordered him to see them to safety. He gave Leo a steel Gladius sword before he died.

%%* {{Brainwashed}}
%%* HappinessInSlavery
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Averted- despite being of Asian descent he fights with a Roman Gladius- that he passes on to Leon as part of his dying orders/mission.
%%* SacrificialLamb
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Died shortly after his introduction killing a Troll and saving Leon in the process.

! Ryan The Thrall

Defector Captain of the Rose Guard after the demise of [[spoiler:Lee and Adam]]. He is cold, calculated, and disciplined. Originally not meant for the Collar at all- just another client of the Madames and contact in some relatively important circles- his devotion and dedication to the cause ultimately lead to him making the request he be allowed to try for it- to the Madame's shock and interest. He has served loyally ever since, discarding his old life without a care. He serves a number of purposes to both Collete women- including personal assistant, driver, bodyguard, middle management in the organization, and courtesan for cold nights. He harbors a deep dislike for most of the party- having been present at the Battle for Treasure Island- but has been doing his best to indoctrinate and make Issac feel at home among the other Collared.

* TheCaptain: For the Rose Guard, effectively past Arc 1.
* BattleButler: Always armed and wearing a kevlar vest beneath his pink suit.
%%* Brainwashed
%%* HappinessInSlavery
* HypercompetentSidekick: De-facto head of the Rose Guard and administrator to The Family- attending any details the Mistresses don't have time for or are beneath them.
%%* MiddleManagementMook
%%* MoreThanMindControl
%%* PersonalMook
* TheFettered: One of his main contrasts to [[spoiler:Adam]]
%%* TheStoic

[[/folder]]

[[folder: The Baron's Forces]]

! Baron Giovanni Thorne

A young up-and-coming Baron of the White Court. Only eighty, he is a junior player among the Court's politicians, and yet has more success and power then many of the senior ones. Some decades ago, he overthrew his father to take over House Thonre in an audacious power play, matching Hungers. He succeed and sucked his father dry of life, and since then has had nothing but upward swing after upward swing in success, winging the ear of Lara Raith and as the title of Baron for his work securing power bases throughout North America. He broke White Court tradition by starting his own brood before he was a century old, breeding five children before his seventy-fifth birthday.

Giovanni is ruthless as the Madame and twice as ambitious. Their Cold War began when he commissioned a new holding in Vegas to celebrate his eightieth birthday, without asking the permission of the Madame, or even acquainting himself with her first. The message was clear- he intended take Vegas from her and secure it as the seat of his personal power. Despite appearances, he takes the Madame very seriously as a threat, and considers the war to be the turning point in his political career. He has leveraged his resources and clout to the brink investing in this conflict, and failure would surely leave Thorne vulnerable to it's many enemies within the Court. For this reason above all others, he is committed to win the war with Colette or die trying.

%%* AffablyEvil
* ArchEnemy: He and the Madame actually refer to each other as "That woman" and "That man". [[spoiler:WordOfGod says that had The Baron lived his and Anya's conflict would have been explored far more in-depth.]]
* AmbitionIsEvil: The primary cause of all his actions, it is the main reason for his largest failures, but also for his highest successes.
* DarwinistDesire: Implied to be how he choose each of his children's (different) mothers. He loved none of them.
* DiabolicalMasterMind: Like Anya is clearly playing a much much larger game. [[spoiler:Went as far as to arrange his own death-by-son to slip Loki's hold off his House- since he realized that Aiden was in Loki's pocket.]]
* DepravedBisexual: Like his son, gender, appearance, and species have little bearing on his choice of prey. Unlike his son, he doesn't give a rat's ass about dehumanizing them, or treating them like animals or pets, and is more then ready to kill one of them for a failure without hesitation.
** The Baron is known to feed regularly on his guards and staffers that he likes, to ensure their loyalty.
%%* TheDon
* EntitledToHaveYou: Part of The Baron's annoyance with Alex's [[spoiler:failure]]- he fears he coddled his son by ''not'' raping him into submission.
%%* KilledOffForReal
* MysteriousBacker: "Four Immortals Walk Into A Bar" reveals that [[spoiler:he was being backed by Loki as well as Winter]] raised some questions and answered some others.
** This is particularly interesting since the reveal that [[spoiler:The Madame has been in a similar arrangement with Loki for an unknown period of time.]]
* ParentalIncest: Him and his own father, it's implied by White Court tradition. Surprisingly with none of his own children. His rational being that he wants "agents and heirs not tools or slaves".
* PowerIsSexy
* SupernaturallyYoungParent: Played with- like all White Court Giovanii appears young and beautiful despite being over 80, however ''also'' by the standards of the White Court, starting your own brood is considered incredibly bizarre bellow the age of 100- so to them, he is something of a teen father. All of his appearances feature him being described as young-looking as well- comparisons to a blonde surfer, or a college graduate are made.
* TheVamp: A male variant- a trait he passes on to basically all his children (except Bethany)
* VampiresAreSexGods
* VillainousIncest: Came very very close.
* WellDoneSonGuy: He's not big on his oldest son by any estimation, and often sets him in the most dangerous and lethal situations possible. ''But'' it's implied several times that he's doing this ''on purpose'', because his father did the same thing to him and by his estimation he turned out extremely well and what's his son to be as competent and dangerous as he was, and able to look after his siblings should anything happen to him. In his own sick way, it's an expression of love. (No, he doesn't see how fucked up that is.)
%%* WeHardlyKnewYe
* WhiteGangBangers: The irony is not lost on any of the them.

! Aiden Thorne

The youngest of the Baron's sons, naive, peppy, and idealistic, he completely buys into the "superior race" shtick, and the romanticized version of the White Court. He absolutely adores his older brother, and practically worships him, only looking up to their father more. He is a little over sixteen at the time of the start of the war, and has only had his Hunger awakened for a little under a year.

&&* Bastard Boyfriend: [[spoiler:Loki.]]
* BigBrotherWorship: All of Alex's siblings respect and love him to one degree or another- but Aiden most fervently.
%%* TheCorruptible
* FalseInnocenceTrick: His primary method of hunting out prey- he convinces them of his innocence and sweetness and sincerity to worm his way into their affections and then feeds. Done successfully his victims never even realize they've been had. [[spoiler:He's so good at it, that not even his family can see through the innocent act all the time.]]
%%* {{Gayngster}}
* IncompatibleOrientation: With Leon- whom he almost raped and has been fixated on since.
* MafiaPrincess: Used to be in the dark- much like Bethany- and still retains some of that naivety to an extent. [[spoiler:How much is an act to keep up his guise as TheMole and how much is real is....up for debate.]]
* SelfMadeOrphan: [[spoiler:While not directly responsible for it, and that not having been the intent, Aiden isn't exactly busted up that his actions lead to his father's death at his brother's hands. None of the Thornes really are.]]
* SexFaceTurn: [[spoiler: Loki was the first person outside Aiden's direct family to treat him with anything approaching respected and compassion- the lonely isolated boy who worshiped an abusive father and a semi-absent older brother? Easy prey for the God of Lies.]]
* SenselessSacrifice: Repeatedly. He's not very bright.
* StraightGay: It doesn't come up much given the nature of the White Court, but he's exclusively into men.
%%* TheMole
* TreacherousAdvisor: [[spoiler:To his father- he flat out refused to be the same to Alex.]]
* TooDumbToLive: Nearly died in the first act alone making his first SenselessSacrifice.
%%* TheVamp
* WideEyedIdealist: Believes without question everything both his brother and father say, and is completely oblivious to the tension between them.

! Leliane Thorne
The third oldest in the family, a sexual sadist and [[ComedicSociopathy Comedic Psychopath]]. She is the most violent, dangerous, and openly crazy of any of them, a near-slave to her Hunger and desires. She doesn't mind.

* TooKinkyToTorture: As the Madame's Family discovered, they bored her so much she started giving them ''tips''.

! Jessy Thorne
The androgynous second-oldest. Many people that meet zir for the first time have a hard time determine zir's gender. That is kind of the point. Despite knowing that zir was born male, Alexander tends to forget or question zir's gender.

! Loki
--> "What? You were expecting Tom Hiddleston?"

The Norse God of Mischief and Lies, King of Chaos, etc. etc. Playing his own game, Loki is the one who originally convinced Nadya to steal the Hammer and bring it to him. It's all but obvious that he's playing his own game, and is behind if not all the most of what's happening in Vegas. His exact goal is unclear, but his cunning is not...

* AffablyEvil: He's really rather polite and fun to be around....As long as your not on his bad side.
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: Invoked and Averted. His careful built reputation of being chaotic and malicious allows him to convince his enemies his willing to do far worse things like he is. [[spoiler: Like killing Harry Dresden.]]

! The Elegast

A high ranking retainer of Queen Titania, his position in Summer is comparable to that of the Leanansidhe to Winter. He is a primary adviser, emissary, and consort of Titania, but his intentions and ambitions are less then altruistic. He has fathered more then two dozen Changeling in the last fifty years, some in Summer believe with the intent of building up his own loyal power base to challenge Titania's rule. Among those Changelings is Emilia James, whom he shows up from time to time to bother about her Choice and give cryptic advice to. He is remarkable stoic for a Fae, with an intellect to match. One thing is for sure, he didn't win his title and position by collecting bottle caps.

* ExactWords: Like all Sidhe he is bound to tell the truth. Also like all Sidhe he rarely does.

! Eir

The Valkyrie bringer of Hope and giver of Mercy. Jarl is among her favored, and despite his shame and the fact that he is at present set for Hel, she believes heavily in him, and is always around to offer advice, or grant her blessing. That said, she has a Viking's temper, and misuse of her gift ''pisses her off''. She claims to be the only Chooser that feels pity for the ''Dísir'', expressing a desire to save, rather then destroy them as the Valkyrie are fated to do.

! The Bloody Marry Killer/[[spoiler: Jenna Sommers and Adam The Thrall]]

A rampaging Warlock Murderer, employing a Dark Ritual to kill his victim. His aims are as mysterious as his identity, and whether he serves one of the competing factions, his own power, or some other purpose has yet to be revealed. What is known- he is about, he is dangerous, and people are dying at his hands.

* BodyHorror: How he kills his victims- he drains ever drop of blood from their bodies, and then leaves them hanging in open areas from make-shift gallows. Loki points out that this must be part of a darker ritual, since it is both an extremely impracticable and difficult way to kill someone.
* TheManBehindTheMan: According to Loki The Bloody Marry is a puppet of another force altogether. [[spoiler: Himself.]]

! Anderi Diandred

Gabren's annoying cousin and blatant pervert. He is a Sorcerer-level talent with a gift for healing... And nothing else. At all. He tends to look down on his family, particularly his Aunt, for being "stuck in the Dark Ages", but he still spends their money without complaint. He leads a hedonistic lifestyle with his other cousin Kalen as his sidekick/medical assistant. It's hinted that he has less the pure intention towards his cousin.

* ShipperOnDeck: Despite his apparent attraction to his cousin, when he is lead to believe that Gabren and Issac are [[MistakenForGay in a relationship]] he offers his whole-hearted support and honest support.

The Eldest Of The ''Dísir'', who has spent almost her entire existence under Loki's thumb. She thirsts for freedom and alone among her sisters is willing to seek it. She has taken the opportunity presented by the Mjolnir being in the hands of a Novice Mortal to try and win the freedom. She has offered a deal to Nadya- help her and her sisters get free, and she will ensure that neither Loki nor Odin catch up with her, but the clock is ticking, and Brün can only put off killing Nadya under Master's orders for so long...

You know how the Denarians are Fallen Angels, thrown out of heaven for rebelling against The White God? The ''Dísir'' are the same thing, but with Valkyries. Originally among the most powerful of Asgard's servants, Brün and twelve of her finest sisters, where cast out of Valhalla by Borr, the Father of Odin, for reasons unknown. Bound to walk Midgard, feasting on the souls of the unworthy, condemned back to Hel for a time should the suffer defeat in battle, the Dísir are ruthless, merciless, cunning, and utterly without fear. Eons ago, Loki was able to enslave them after tricking them into wagering their freedom in a contest of wits. They are fated by the Norns to serve as his Honor Guard in Ragnarok and can only be truly slain by their still pure sisters. One of the most efficient and dangerous killing forces in the known world, they may not be quite as in step with Loki as they seem...

! Puck, Lord Of The Lost Boys

A Wyldfae Sidhe, who holds with Summer and plays a part in the balance with the aid of his counterpart Nicolai. Selfish, vicious, petty, and above all else ''wild'', Puck represents the worst aspects of Summer, and is disliked by both Winter (who find him annoying) and Summer (who are repulsed by him). Once the steward and ''eromenous'' of Oberon, Puck is now one of the most feared and influential Sidhe in Faerie- just a slice bellow the Ladies in raw power. He is cunning, mischievous, and insane. For centuries he has lead children astray, corrupting them with promises of never having to grow up or fallow rules. These Lost Boys are among the vicious creatures in Summer, like their Lord never growing old, and never letting go of their dark and twisted childhood.

* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of Summer's worst aspects, specifically pettiness, viciousness, and the Wild.
* BerserkButton: Like the original Peter Pan he HatesBeingTouched. Despite himself being a PersonalSpaceInvader.
* TheBully: When Kat says she hates bullies, Puck snips back "Oh then you will ''hate'' me."
* ChangelingTale: The source of many.
* CheerfulChild: Creepily, insanely so.
%%* ChildMage
* CombatSadomasochist: He often wonders loudly what people would bleed like if he cut them and Jarl's punch in the face only made him ''laugh with joy''.

! The Lost Boys

Puck's personnel attendants and companions. Children from every era of time, who ran away, wandered off, where lead astray, sold by their parents, or simple didn't want to grow up. Infused with Fae Magic for as long as they keep their oath to Puck, they are fast, strong, vicious, and magically adept, developing many Fae qualities (sharp limbs, inhuman eyes, pointed ears etc.). But because they started out human they aren't bound by all Fae laws- they can lie, cross thresholds, break deals, but there are still bound by EquivalentExchange and Iron is still deadly to them. Like their leader, they are spoiled, cruel, and vicious, the love playing pranks of the dangerous and hurtful variety, and their adventures are often at the expense of mortals. They reject all authority but Puck's, hate adults, are always looking for ways to make mischief.

%%* AdorableEvilMinions
* AmbiguousInnocence: It's deliberately vague how much of their actions are just a lack of understanding about what they are doing- since they've never had to face consequences for them- and how much is actually their own cruelty.

* BrattyHalfPint: All of them to one degree or another.
* CrocodileTears: A favorite tactic of theirs, it has yet to work.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: An extremely cynical version of this- the Lost Boys are certainly ''innocent'' and in many ways extremely naive. But it doesn't make them any less little monsters.

The Wolf God of Norse Myth, son of Loki. A feral, dangerous, and bloodied hunter who lives for the kill and the fight. He is, by no stretch of the imagination, amused by Alexander's disrespect and insults to his father and his pepole, and has come to town just itching for a fight. Often the brute force and fighting power for his much more intelligent family, his true form is of a hulking giant wolf, with midnight fur, moonlight claws, and one hellfire red eye and one dead white one. He fines the human form confining, feeble, and uncomfortable, and being force to take it on has done nothing to sooth his already volatile temper. His pride is only matched by his honor- of which he holds to his own code, turning his nose up at the Accords and other "Mortal" laws. At the end of the day, his own honor, and his loyalty to his family, is all that matters to him.

* WolfMan: Only when he has no other choice

! Nicolai, The Jack of Frost

Better known by his shortened Title, Jack Frost, he is a Wyldfae Lord holding with Winter and Puck's polar aspects. Often a cheerful, playful, prankster, he is possibly the only creature in all of Winter who is constantly kind, helpful, compassionate and friendly to those he meets. He represents the hope and joy that must never be allowed to go out, even in the blackest, coldest, most bitter Winter. Capable of finding fun in almost any situation, him and his attendants, the Yule Lads, play pranks, hold parties, anything to bring joy. He is beloved by Summer and Winter both (save for Maeve, whom hates him) something that is a endless source of jealousy from Puck. [[spoiler: His murder kick starts the events of Arc II]]

Coupling fine honed physical abilities with equally deadly magical ability, he has stayed alive through the Stoker-pocalypse through a combination of ruthless determination and black cunning. He values quality over quantity in his Scourge, only granting un-life to those he deems worthy, but also keeps company of more then just Blacks- most notably his mysterious body guard Calista, but he has also been known to run with Whites, Fae, Demons, Warlocks, anyone that might afford him more power and protection his service. His exact aspirations are unknown, but he it is known that he curries in favors, owing many to high up powers, and owed many more by others. Whatever his ambitions, he is not a force to be underestimated.

* LastOfHisKind: One of the last Black Court Vampires.
* Really700YearsOld: His corpse is somewhere in his twenties at time of death, and it's withered state makes him look like an old man, but he's actual age is unknown.

! Calista

The mysterious bodyguard and ally of Krovarian. Cold, deadly, and detached, her past and motives are completely unknown, but her threat is not. Not a Scion, a Vampire, a Demon, or a Changeling, whatever she is, she is fast, strong, smart, and tough, and completely single-mindedly determined in her goal. She lacks empathy, mercy, compassion, or fear. But, she has hate in spades.

* {{Revenge}}: He wants his revenge for the death of Kalen and the misery of Andrei against Nadya, for stalling their efforts to get out of Winter for selfish purposes, Winter Itself for killing Kalen, The Baron for possibly setting all of this in motion, and the Bloody Mary for setting all this in motion.
** RevengeByProxy: Less sympathetically, he wants to teach the Baron loss by killing one of his younger kids.
** Though it seems, oddly enough, that this occurred in a moment of madness, and he's largely abandoned revenge on Baron Thorne and Nadya, in favor of advancing his plans.
* ShockAndAwe: Though we have not seen it, he is also a user of lightning magic.
* SkilledButNaive: Very much so. Gabren is an incredibly skilled Warden for someone of his young age, being skilled in not just magic and swordsmanship, but also in people skills, diplomacy and business. Despite these skills, his naivety and one-directional thinking can lead him to some questionable actions that can get him in trouble.
** Though [[spoiler: This has also slightly faded as he has gone on. He's now much more calculating, much more dangerous, and capable of using his allies' strengths to make a situation better and not just relying on his own strength.]]
* TheStoic: [[spoiler: Ever since his FaceHeelTurn, he's basically been very stoic, and has not smiled very much at all.]]
* SuperSpeed: Expedite + lets him become incredibly fast. Ever since he absorbed the Disir Spirit Energy, though, he's become incredibly fast ''without using the spell''.
* TakenALevelInBadass: Since the time skip, he's become much more dangerous, cunning and capable.
* TranquilFury: He's slowly slid back into this. He's still angry at Nadya, the Baron, and the Warlock, but he's now becoming bitter, more willing to use extreme means for his "justice", and more planning based.
* TraumaCongaLine: He's certainly had one of the roughest nights out there, and its definitely taken its toll, leaving him in a nigh-perpetual HeroicBSOD.
* VillainousBSOD: Been in one since he [[spoiler: was forced to fight his old friend Fix, who helped him and the girl of his dreams. That a person he considered an oldest, dearest friend would fight him so fiercely has made him fight to debilitate, rather than to win or kill.]]
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Ever since the Bellagio, he's been shirtless.
* WellDoneSonGuy: In his own way, all he wants is to be acknowledged as the greatest son of the House of Daindred.

! [[spoiler: Wretched Emil]]

[[spoiler: The Dark Side of Gabren given reign over his body during his emotional collapse when he thought Amy had escaped with the boy that would've let him undo the horrors that befell his friends.]]

%%* AxCrazy
* BloodKnight: [[spoiler: This aspect of his personality, taken up to eleven from Gabren's main persona's BloodKnight Trait, is its defining trait. It could have dodged those bullets. It simply saw no reason to.]]
* BloodyMurder: Completing the ''Manga/DeadmanWonderland'' shout out this thing is, it can make its blood do fucked up things after spilling it.
* CombatSadomasochist: [[spoiler: Grins like a complete lunatic, whether he's taking hits, or giving them.]]
* CombatTentacles: He can turn his freaking cape into these.
* DeadlyUpgrade: [[spoiler: Wretched Emil is not a helpful state to be in. Due to how it works, his body is over-stressed and if he was in normal state, he would barely be able to move.]]
* LaughingMad: [[spoiler: The first clue that this is NOT Gabren.]]
* LimpAndLivid: [[spoiler: Uncannily enough, it moves like a marionette with its strings cut before suddenly making huge speed bursts.]]
* SlasherSmile: [[spoiler: [[NightmareFuel A very, very, very freaky one.]]]]

From a rural small Virginian small town, Amy is an ex-military Archaeology student, who one day, happened upon something far beyond her a ken. Fascinated by the realization all the myths and stories of the world are true, has driven her to investigate and study on a whole not level. Acting as a conduit and host to the parasitic Sidhe, she now slake her thirst for knowledge, but her new "friend" might prove more trouble then he's worth...

! Nadya Zolnerowich- The Hammer Thief

->''[[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial "Not a psychopath."]]''

A hardened thief and con artist from Russia, who small-time cons turned big-time fast when she was recruited by Loki to steal the ultimate weapon of power- without ever realizing what she was stealing. At the last minute she made a different call and decided to take the Hammer for herself, fleeing Loki and Odin both's rather all over the world, until she made her way to hide out in the city of sin, where she had been for the last few months, biding her time and laying low.

%%* AchievementsInIgnorance: Possibly the poster child.
%%* ActionGirl
%%** DarkActionGirl
* ConvenientlyAnOrphan: She was able to easily run away to Las Vegas from Stalingrad because, as an orphan, she had little ties to her home.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: [[BadassNormal Was badass enough to steal Mjolnir from Odin when she was just a normal girl]], and now she wields Thor's Hammer.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: She was an orphan who lived on the street and mainly stuck to petty thefts. Then she stole Mjolnir, and now she's starting magical gang wars with mass murder.
* {{Foil}}: To Kat. She's TheUnfettered to Kat's [[TheFettered Fettered]].
* GratuitousRussian: She swears in Russian, a lot.
* KneelBeforeZod: Attempted to get a ''disir'' she blasted back into a wall to kneel before her. The ''disir'' attempted to attack her and she brought the ceiling down on her.
* ParentalAbandonment:
** DisappearedDad: She never knew her father and her father might never have known about her. All that's known is that he's a soldier of some kind.
** MissingMom: Her mom died in childbirth and gave her to the orphanage she died at.
%%* MotherRussiaMakesYouStrong
* SatisfiedStreetRat: She ran away from the orphanage she was being raised at and learned all she knows on the street. This has made her tough as nails, harsh, smart, and devious. She learned how to kill and steal, and she uses them to great effect.
* TheUnfettered: She has no hesitation when it comes to her decisions. No fear. No doubt. She doesn't care much about morals or decency or what is right. She pursues her goals single-mindedly.
* VillainProtagonist: She's a mass murderer and thief who started a magical gang war in order to hide more effectively, and she's one of the protagonists.
%%* {{Wildcard}}
* TooDumbToLive: Runs into a minefield of claymores and the firing line of a Ma Deuce to get into melee range of an enemy.

! Manisha 'Blackfyre' Saini - Priestess of Kali
A young priestess of Kali. After an almost lethal clash with the Fomor in India, she flees for Vegas to seek the help and protection of Alexander Thorne, not knowing what Edge Town has in stock for her.

* ActionGirl: Can hold her own in a fight.
* ClusterFBomb: Tends to curse like a sailor when pissed off or under attack. Or a mixture of both.
* ConvectionSchmonvection: Her spell Hall of Agni places several white-hot balls of flame around the area that she's in. Each ball warps or sets any object nearby on fire with the extreme heat exuded.
* CoolBike: Rides around on a Suzuki Hayabusa that she customized herself.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Has shades of this in regards to the Fomor, since she made it her goal to wipe out any Fomor she comes across, mercy be damned.
* ItsPersonal: The Fomor wiped out every single person at the temple that she grew up in, setting her on a path of revenge.
* PlayingWithFire: The majority of her spells revolve around some form of fire.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: [[spoiler: Got separated from the rest of the gang during a major battle. Hasn't been seen since.]]

! Zoesiel - The Fallen Angel of Mass Murder

A Knight of the Blackened Denarius, Zoesiel is a loner among this group. Originally an elite warrior in the Host of Heaven, she rebelled along with Lucifer and the other Fallen when she decided that eternal servitude did not suit her temper. Once bound into one of the Denarius, Zoesiel picks upon weak hosts, preferring to break them quickly and assert her own will over their bodies.\
Her primary motivation is not to bring about the apocalypse or something like that, but only her own entertainment. And this can be simply put this way: Battle, Sex and Rock'n Roll.

* AffablyEvil: Despite everything else, she is quite a nice host and is apparently a [[SexGoddess skilled lover]]. Maybe she just keeps this up to screw with her enemies.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Her coin is her weak point. Rip it out and the severely twisted host body will instantly turn into a blood puddle. But with VoluntaryShapeshifting she can hide it ''really'' well.
* BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil: A favorite past-time of her.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: Has been in every major war or atrocity for the last 2000 years. And started a few.
* BloodKnight: Her love for war rivals that of [[Manga/{{Hellsing}} The Major]]!
* BloodyMurder: Zoesiels main ability as a Denarian is the ability to weaponize her blood, in a number of ways:
** She can harden her blood into objects, creating Swords or Projectiles out of it.
** She can use it as a Whip, able to either [[RazorFloss cut]] or [[CombatTentacles bind]] her target.
** She can ''ignite'' it with Hellfire.
** She can create both poisons and drugs out of it.
* BloodSport: As organizer and participant.
* BreakTheCutie: Likes to find cute little kids and mold them into consummate killers and worse.
* TheCorrupter: For variety's sake, she will try to corrupt single persons or whole nations into violence and murder. She claims to have started ''Crusades'' as a "Fuck You" to her former boss. [[note]]To elaborate. If Zoesiel had been around for ''Theatre/RomeoAndJuliet'' the play would have ended with Juliet brutally killing every last Montague and Capulet, forcing herself on Romeo in the middle of the carnage, then torture him until he would be just as psycho as her and then become the first {{Serial Killer}}s of Verona. All the while Zoesiel would watch and eat popcorn.[[/note]]
%%* CombatSadoMasochist: Emphasis on the 'Sado'.
%%* DemonicPossession
* DealWithTheDevil: TheAggressiveDrugDealer version. Once you pick up her coin she will use ''any'' psychological trick which does not get Uriel on her case on you until you break.
* DeathSeeker: Played with. She claims that the feeling of death from her hosts is an indescribably good feeling. Thus she willingly fights opponents while limiting her. Either she gets a good fight and a good kill, or she gets killed, waits for the next host and repeats it.
* DragonInChief: Zoesiel will work for normal humans or otherwise far weaker creatures if their cause promises to bring her bloodshed and battle.
%%* FallenAngel
* FourStarBadass: She has led countless Army's over time and only the fact that she sought battle and not victory saved some of her enemies.
* EvilRedhead: Her female form. Her male form is blond.
* GladiatorGames: Participated in the Roman ones until women were forbidden from entering. She roused some barbarians into attacking Rome over this. And afterwards participated as a man.
* GenderBender: Is normally a stunning redhead, but has another form as a muscular and ripped vandal warrior.
* GuiltFreeExterminationWar: ''Every'' war is this for her.
* HealingFactor: Unless you hit her coin she can heal from most attacks.
* TheHedonist: She has no FreudianExcuse, is not a psychopath, she simply ''enjoys'' what it, and chooses to indulge herself.
* HellFire: She is a Denarian.
* HiredGuns: Or rather '''Mass Murderer for Hire'''.
* KillerRabbit: Looks like a cute college freshman. One of the contenders for "Greatest Killer Alive."
* LikeAGodToMe: A number of primitive tribes all over the world used to worship her as a Deity of Bloodshed, Fertility ''and'' Murder. Zoesiel finds it amusing and usually uses this to start a nice bloody religion war.
* MadeOfIron: Her VoluntaryShapeshifting means she has no vital organs to lose. Any damage will be healed quite quickly.
* OldSoldier: She has been in almost every big war since the fall of the Roman Empire. She has been a Centurion, fought under (and against) Napoleon, invaded Russia at least twice in the last 200 years, has tortured GI's in Vietcong Prisoner Camps and what else. She does maintain that she had nothing to do with the Falkland war. It's not that she has ''started'' all these wars, she just usually shows up when they do and plans on having a good time.
* PsychoForHire: Averted. She is actually quite sane, just acts very impulse-driven. For how one might try do define sanity of a Fallen Angel.
* PunchClockVillain: ''Behaves'' like she is one.
* RapePillageAndBurn: Another one of her favorite hobby's. Especially if she can incite other people into joining her.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: If her eyes turn red it means she's about to use her full Denarian abilities.
* SergeantRock: An ''evil'' version of this.
* SexIsViolence: Your willing participation is not required, but appreciated. The difference between fighting someone and screwing him is fluid, if there is any at all.
%%* TheSociopath
* SortingAlgorithmOfEvil: Her clothing is a good indicator of how serious she takes a fight.
** FullFrontalAssault: She is toying with you and enjoying the SexIsViolence while she tears you apart.
** {{Stripperific}}: She considers you at least a good fight. Will at least make an effort.
** BreastPlate: She considers you capable of killing her. She takes you at least somewhat seriously and will fight like that.
** InstantArmor: She creates a [[LadyLegionnaireWear Roman Lorica]] and Weapons out of blood. She takes you 100% serious. No games, she behaves like the millennia old soldier and killer she is. She will probably still get off from it, though. '''''RUN!'''''
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Can alter her shape as she feels, including full GenderBender capabilities. Once she has broken her Host's she will always permanently shift into a form resembling her Angelic Body.
* WaifFu: Her normal form is that of a lithe, slender redhead woman not quite twenty. She can rip out people's throats in it.
* WhatMeasureIsAHuman & WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: Zoesiel is an Angel. Everything else exists for her to do as she wants.

! Aki and Ai - The High Priestesses

Born to a hidden Japanese cult worshipping the power of demons, Aki and Ai were intended to be their next High Priestesses. Part demon summoner, part MageKiller, they were raised to be the cults servants and weapons. One day, however, the cult was attacked and they were freed from their fate by their new "Master". Latching onto him as their savior, they are now fanatically devoted to him and his goals.

* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: They look ''absolutely'' identical. They dress identically. In fact, they were birthed with cesarean section, at the exact same moment.
* BerserkButton: Don't hurt the Master. Don't displease the Master. Don't oppose the Master. Your death shall be bloody.
%%* CreepyTwins
* DarkMagicalGirl: Underneath their LadyOfBlackMagic cover. Very much underneath. They only fear being without the Master.
* TheDarkSide: They have killed the first time with magic at the age of 5 and used it to summon their first demon. Twenty years later they are decidedly ''not'' sane.
* TheDragon: To their Master.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Pale white skin? Check. Midnight black hair? Check. Looking like ghosts in their white kimono's? ''check''!
* EmotionlessGirl: Or rather, emotionless for anything other than the Master.
* EnfantTerrible: They started the whole MageKiller part of their live for the cult with 12.
* GoneHorriblyRight: The cult wanted to demon summoning, wizard killing high priestesses with undying loyalty. Its just wasn't them who got them.
* TheKidWithTheLeash: Them being the leashed, their Master being the kid.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: On the surface at least.
* LackOfEmpathy: Summoning an army of demons and sicking them on a birthday party full of innocent teenagers has for them about as much moral problems as stepping on a spider.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Their fanatical devotion to the Master is probably the only thing which keeps them from simply going OmnicidalManiac.
* MageKiller: Working as a team, and keeping the target on the move with their chains, only to shoot them with a spike, they are a danger even to powerful Wizards. And that's just the beginning of their capabilities in that regard.
* MindOverMatter: Use kinetomancy as their primary combat magic:
** ChainPain: Their main focus are long chains, which they can move like CombatTentacles. On the low end, they simply strangle you with them, on the upper end they [[CruelAndUnusualDeath cut you into]] [[{{Gorn}} pieces with them]].
** They propel long iron spikes at targets, strong enough to pierce combat armor.
* PureIsNotGood: They are "[[VirginPower pure]]" by the tenet's of their cult. They are not by any way "good".
* SiblingTeam: The fight and summon together.
* TheStoic: Even if tipping someone apart, they never show anything. Even if you [[BerserkButton hurt the Master]]. They will rip you to pieces with muted rage.
* SummonMagic: Using it as a team, they can summon veritable armies of demons and bind them to their will in short time.
* ThemeTwinNaming: Ironically their names mean "Bright" and "Love". Its also played with, in that their names are not "Aki" and "Ai", but their ''name'' is "Aki and Ai" (or in Japanese "Aki to Ai", 明と愛). They don't have an individual name.
* TykeBomb: Both of them were trained to use their power as soon as they could talk.
* UndyingLoyalty: If their master told them to kill each other they would so so without hesitation.
