[[folder:In General]]
* AllThereInTheManual: Tommy, Zoe, J.P. and [[spoiler:Koichi]] all have Advance Hybrids, which are supposed to be Mega-equivalent, [[ConservationOfCompetence but they don't get the power to use them in the show]].
* ColorCodedCharacters
** Takuya -- Red.
** Koji - Blue, sometimes White.
** Zoe -- Pink.
** J.P. -- Yellow Digivice but green transformation sequence.
** Tommy -- Green Digivice but yellow transformation sequence.
** [[spoiler:Koichi - Black Digivice but purple transformation sequence.]]
* ElementalPowers: Each of them holds the spirit of a Legendary Warrior who represents one of ten elements.
* FiveManBand: The spirits of the Legendary Warriors are inherited by five heroic children. The StockShonenHero Takuya, IneffectualLoner and {{Lancer}} Koji that spends the earliest part of the series on his own before becoming an AloofAlly, TokenGirl and [[DudeMagnet everyone's crush]] Zoe, TagAlongKid Tommy that the others look out for until he matures enough to take care of himself, and BigFun J.P who has the physically strongest forms and always has a chocolate bar on him. The show mostly centers around [[RedOniBlueOni Takuya and Koji's rivalry and later partnership]] with the other members either diffusing the tension, or offering [[CantCatchUp support from afar.]] They eventually get a SixthRanger in Koji's [[HeelFaceTurn long lost twin]] Koichi, but he gets DemotedToExtra with the rest of the group in favor of the main duo.
** They have non-warrior supporters in PluckyComicRelief Neemon, and MrExposition Bokomon [[CloudcuckoolandersMinder who minds him.]]
* FriendlessBackground: If there's a theme to their combined story-arcs, it's "overcoming loneliness". Nearly all of them are eventually revealed to have this in common, though in different flavors.
** Izumi is the Newcomer, whose classmates see her as prissy and stuck-up.
** Junpei is too full of himself and shallow, too focused on being "cool" to ever make a real friend.
** Tomoki, while not Homeschooled, is sheltered by his parents to the point of being immature, which evokes ire in his older brother and makes him an easy target for bullies.
** Kouji is a loner who thinks he doesn’t have to rely on anyone but himself.
** [[spoiler:And Kouichi is shy on top of feeling deliberately ostracized from one half of his family.]]
** Only Takuya is never out-right stated to be lonely or friendless in any way, since his story is more about learning to take responsibility for others' sake. But his social circle outside of the Warriors is never mentioned either, so it may still be implied.
* InformedAbility: The Transcendent forms of Takuya and Koji, [=KaiserGreymon=] and [=MagnaGarurumon=] are stated to be the pinnacle of Digimon Evolution whose power exceeds the Warrior Ten (who were all stated to be {{Physical God}}s). In the show itself, they are more like oversized {{Butt Monkey}}s who were routinely thrown around and defeated by villains that they could otherwise reasonably defeat and whatever few battles they did win on their own, it's an uphill battle.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Literally. It's the thing that defines them in comparison to previous teams. Everyone [[spoiler: except Kouichi]] chose to follow the instructions that lead them to the Digital World and then, after the spirits chose them back, repeatedly committed to following the quest through despite multiple opportunities to go home. Even Tomoki, who was forced onto a train by bullies, ultimately chose to stay.
* KidHeroAllGrownUp: 2019 CD implies the warriors now are University students with exception for Tommy who still freshman on High School.
* SigilSpam: Takuya has it the most, but all of them [[spoiler:except Kouichi]] have stylized versions of the kanji for their respective elements somewhere on at least one of their Digimon forms.
* TheTeam: Strong individually, the gang really shines when they work together, epitomized in the finale when they combine all 20 spirits into Susanoomon.
* TrueCompanions: By the end, they've got arguably the strongest team bond in the franchise, since no Digimon partner sounding boards means less going off on their own to solve personal issues (despite Kouji's best efforts) and more working through their problems together as a team. [[spoiler: Susanoomon]] can be seen as [[PowerOfFriendship the ultimate embodiment of their friendship]], and that power even proves strong enough to [[spoiler: save Kouichi's life in the final episode.]]

[[folder:Takuya Kanbara]]
[[quoteright:319:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Tfrontier_9416.jpg]]

Takuya begins the series as a typical "goggle boy", (only he wears a hat underneath his gray and square goggles)—energetic and athletic, but tending to act without thinking and very stubborn. He has a strong sense of justice, and tries to use his power to do what he believes is right. His Spirits are the reincarnations of [=AncientGreymon=], Warrior of Flame.

His Spirit Evolutions are as follows:
** '''Rookie''': Flamemon ''(Flamon)'', a small humanoid with demon-like features and red hair. He temporarily becomes this form for an episode in the Real World.
** '''Human Hybrid''': Agunimon ''(Agnimon)'', a Demon Man Digimon. He resembles a human wearing dragon armor that is reminiscent of Greymon.
** '''Beast Hybrid''': [=BurningGreymon=] ''(Vritramon)'', A Demon Dragon Digimon. A vaguely humanoid dragon with an ArmCannon on each wrist.
** '''Advance Hybrid''': Aldamon ''(Ardhamon)'', a Demon Man Digimon. Basically, Agunimon's head and hands on [=BurningGreymon=]'s body.
** '''Zeta Hybrid''': [=EmperorGreymon=] ''([=KaiserGreymon=])'', A Dragon Warrior Digimon. More or less a heavily armored [[Anime/DigimonAdventure WarGreymon]] with a huge sword that doubles as a crossbow.

->Voiced by: Creator/JunkoTakeuchi (JP), Creator/MichaelReisz (EN), Creator/DaveWittenberg (EN) (as [=EmperorGreymon=], in the TV show and Takuya and other forms in TheMovie), Carmen Podio (Spain), Daniela Benítez (Latin America), Fábio Lucindo (Brazil)
----
* ArmCannon: He has the arm-mounted variety as [=BurningGreymon=] and Aldamon.
* AnimeHair: His Agunimon and Aldamon forms have a pretty ridiculous hairstyle.
* TheBerserker: When he first gets his beast spirit. From his perspective, the others appear to be monsters.
* {{BFS}}: [=EmperorGreymon=]'s sword, which also acts as a {{BFG}} (Dragonfire Crossbow) and a fire attack (Pyro Dragons).
* BigBrotherInstinct: He has a little brother called Shinya, but they apparently don't get along. Tommy is around Shinya's age, which leads to Takuya becoming protective of him as early as the first episode, where he promises he'll take him home. Takuya's relationship with Tommy also results in him valuing Shinya more.
* CoolSword: Wields one as [=EmperorGreymon=]. It has the power to manipulate flames and even doubles as a {{BFG}} when used to fire his Dragon Fire Crossbow.
%%* CuteLittleFangs: As Agunimon and Aldamon.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Rather uniquely for the franchise, near all his Digimon forms are of one of the demon types, yet he's a hero and the resident main lead a goggle boy.
* {{Determinator}}: He’s rather stubborn and refuses to back down or run away in the fact of an enemy. Deconstructed by the time Duskmon rolls around, as he learns the hard way it's not a positive trait if there's no way to win. For the most part however, it does do him good.
%%* DraconicHumanoid: As [=EmperorGreymon=], though not as much as [[EvilCounterpart Dynasmon]].
* DragonKnight: One of his most powerful forms, [=EmperorGreymon=], fits this trope to a T wearing a full set of armor, being draconic in appearance and wielding dragon themed abilities.
* ElementalPunch: His Pyro Punch is a fire-based one as Agunimon. Aldamon's Atomic Inferno which is a barrage of punches that launch firballs and he used a similar attack to Pyro Punch to finish off Mercurymon.
* {{Expy}}: His actions, personality, goggles and role are of the Tai trademark. Some of his evolutions are expies of Greymon and his evolutions, with [=EmperorGreymon=]'s design being basically a more heavily-armored [=WarGreymon=] with a sword and Vritramon being renamed [=BurningGreymon=] in the dub, (as well as the [[UsefulNotes/JapaneseRomanization Japanese phonetic pronounciation]] of Agnimon to adapted into "Agu"nimon) to drive home the reference. To complete it all, Takuya even has a character arc very similar to Tai's: starts out as a hotheaded IdiotHero, he then has a close brush with death and learns to think, becoming an effective leader in the process, and once loses control as [=BurningGreymon=] just like Tai lost control of Skullgreymon.
* FacialMarkings: Both Agunimon and Aldamon have two red stripes on either cheek and [[spoiler: they appear on Susanoomon]].
* FierySalamander:
** His Spirits inherited the will of [=AncientGreymon=], the draconic Flame warrior who passed on his powers to all dragon Digimon. The Spirits are thus based on dragons and are fire elementals.
** His ImageSong is "Salamander".
** Invoked with Agunimon's attacks in the Japanese version: Pyro Punch is Burning Salamander and Pyro Tornado is Salamander Break.
* GogglesDoNothing: Yet ''again''. But he does use them properly.
* GoldMakesEverythingShiny: All of his Digimon forms use it as a secondary color scheme for their armor.
* IdiotHero: While not exactly unintelligent, he initially has an “act now, think later” attitude that often gets him and his team into trouble. A stunning demonstration of this was the way he handled Duskmon's first and second appearances. Koji nearly freaked out about it. His CharacterDevelopment does away with this trope.
* InformedAbility: [=EmperorGreymon=] is said to be stronger than the Warrior Ten, but he does not live up to the hype. He's been routinely subjected to [[CurbStompBattle Curb-Stomp Battles]] by the Royal Knight duo and at one point has trouble with a trio of [=SkullSatamon=], none of which he should have any issues against.
* HeroicBSOD: After his stunning loss against Duskmon, Takuya enters one. It takes a reminder of his origins for him to snap out of it.
* HesBack: When he recovers from his HeroicBSOD and returns to the Digital World.
* HotBlooded: Though noticeably less so than Tai or Davis, or [[Anime/DigimonDataSquad Marcus]], sitting at a sort of half-way point between them and Takato.
* HotWings: [=BurningGreymon=], Aldamon and by extension, [=AncientGreymon=] DependingOnTheArtist.
%%* JumpedAtTheCall
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: His primary color is red, and fittingly, he's one of the stronger members of the team.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Honoo no Theme", which translates to "Theme of Flame"; it's an instrumental rendition of his Image Song.
* LethalChef: Takuya is one, along with Koji when both of them tried to make burgers. But due to their lack of cooking experience, well, Bokomon and Neemon suffered.
* LightningBruiser: Mixes this with JackOfAllStats. He hits pretty hard (not quite as hard as J.P.'s evolutions, at least compared level to level) and he's surprisingly mobile and agile (though he's not as fast as Koji).
* MeaningfulName: Most of his Digimon forms are named after appropriate Hindu mythology figures. Agnimon is named after the fire god Agni. Vritramon is named after the evil serpent Vritra, who is associated with drought. Ardhamon is named after Ardhanarishvara, who's depicted as having two different halves, so the name is suitable for a Digimon that's a result of fusion.
* MightyRoar: When Takuya is still struggling to gain control of [=BurningGreymon=], the Beast Spirit was prone to letting out Godzilla-type roars. Even after he establishes control, Vritramon does a lot of screaming.
** Has another moment before turning into Aldamon for the first time in the dub.
* MixAndMatchCritters:
** His Aldamon form is a mix of Agunimon and [=BurningGreymon=].
** Agunimon's original self, [=AncientGreymon=], is a quadrupedal [=BurningGreymon=] with Agunimon's leg armor on the forelegs.
* MorphicResonance: [=EmperorGreymon=]'s helmet has a metallic version of the horns from Agunimon's mask in the equivalent locations (right next to the eyes). In both forms, it's a CallBack to [[Anime/DigimonAdventure WarGreymon]]. In addition, [[spoiler: Susanoomon has Agunimon's belt buckle, though the buckle has a different symbol on it. It's from [=MagnaGarurumon=], but it's the right color, the same shape and in the same place. Agunimon's facial markings also appear on Susanoomon along with the blue eyes of Takuya's Digimon forms.]]
* NiceGuy: Underneath all his bravado and hot head nature, Takuya actually shows himself to be a pretty nice guy on a number of occasions, particularly shown in his attitudes towards both Tommy and Zoe.
* NotAGame: Takuya eventually realizes that he must put more effort into his responsibilities as a legendary warrior, and make a greater effort to safeguard the lives of his friends.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Agunimon and Aldamon are Demon Man Digimon.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: [=BurningGreymon=] is based on Vritra, an evil dragon in Vedic folklore. Aldamon carries some of these features.
* PersonalityPowers: The wielder of the powers of the Warrior of Flame is appropriately a hothead who'd rather jump before thinking.
* PlayingWithFire: He's the Legendary Warrior of Fire.
* ProtagonistPowerUpPrivileges: To an even greater degree than the first two seasons. He gets access to two power levels that most of the team doesn't instead of just one like [[Anime/DigimonAdventure Agumon]] and [[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 Veemon]].
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When he absorbs his Beast Spirit, he transforms into [=BurningGreymon=] and has no control of that form, causing him to go into a berserk rage. While in that state, his eyes are red. They revert to the blue eyes that all of Takuya's Digimon forms have after he calms down.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Koji's blue.
* ShapingYourAttacks: [=EmperorGreymon=]'s Pyro Dragons attack uses several streamers of fire in the shape of dragon heads.
%%* ShouldersOfDoom: [=EmperorGreymon=]'s armor has these.
* SigilSpam: All of his Digimon forms except [=BurningGreymon=] have a stylized fire kanji somewhere on their person. [=EmperorGreymon=] has two on his chestplate.
* SpamAttack: [=BurningGreymon=]'s Pyro Barrage and Aldamon's Atomic Inferno which involves peppering the opponent with fireballs until they relent.
* StoryBreakerPower: Like Koji, he gets a Zeta Hybrid (the equivalent of a second evolution Mega, like Omnimon or Gallantmon Crimson mode). [=EmperorGreymon=] is second only to Susanoomon as far as our heroes' Digimon goes and perhaps third strongest in the series after he proves his superiority over Dynasmon.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: Takuya immediately flies into the mode of this trope in the third-to-last episode when [[spoiler:Lucemon absorbs Koichi's data following his sacrifice, announcing that he has gone too far, after which both he and Koji combine all the spirits at once into Susanoomon]].
* TornadoMove: Pyro Tornado.
* WreathedInFlames: Agunimon's Pyro Tornado and [=BurningGreymon=]'s Wildfire Tsunami.

[[folder:Koji Minamoto]]
[[quoteright:206:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/th_91.jpg]]
Koji starts the series as the group loner - a kid who wanted friends, but always tried not to get too attached because he believed they'd always go their separate ways eventually. He showed up to help the other [=DigiDestined=] from time to time, and then eventually joins the group permanently. He often distances himself from the others, refusing to let anyone get too close to him. His Spirits are the reincarnations of [=AncientGarurumon=], Warrior of Light.

His Spirit Evolutions are as follows:
** '''Human Hybrid''': Lobomon'' (Wolfmon)'', a warrior Digimon. His appearance is that of a human wearing wolf themed armor that vaguely resembles Garurumon.
** '''Beast Hybrid''': [=KendoGarurumon=] ''(Garmmon)'', A cyborg Digimon. A robotic wolf with wings and roller skates. Strongly resembles [=MetalGarurumon=].
** '''Advance Hybrid''': Beowulfmon, a warrior Digimon. Basically, Lobomon wearing parts of [=KendoGarurumon=] as armor and weapons.
** '''Zeta Hybrid''': [=MagnaGarurumon=], A cyborg Digimon. A humanoid wolf wearing heavy armor and artillery.
->Voiced by: Creator/HiroshiKamiya (JP), Creator/SteveStaley (EN), Inés Blázquez (Spain), Creator/JesusBarrero (Latin America, TV show) Creator/JoseGilbertoVilchis (Latin America, Movie), Márcio Araújo (Brazil)
----
* AloofAlly: At first, he typically fights and travels on his own.
* AnimalBattleAura: Beowulfmon's Frozen Hunter attack generates a wolf-shaped one.
* AnimalMotifs: Wolf.
* ArmCannon:
** Lobomon's Howling Laser is one that is attached to his arm.
** [=MagnaGarurumon=] has both varieties of this trope.
* BadassNormal: Takes on a Raremon before getting his Human Spirit in the second episode.
* {{BFG}}: [=MagnaGarurumon=]'s entire right arm is a gun.
* {{BFS}}: Beowulfmon's Beosabre.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Inverted. Sort of. [[spoiler: He's younger, but Koji becomes very protective of his twin brother, Koichi, later on in the series.]]
* BreathWeapon: [=KendoGarurumon=]'s Lupine Laser.
* ChestBlaster: Has two guns on his chest as [=MagnaGarurumon=].
* DebtDetester: He is bitter at first, because Takuya saves his life.
* DualWielding: Lobomon's Lobo Kendo, a pair of beam sabers that can also be crossed together to launch a projectile attack.
* {{Expy}}: Of Matt/Yamato, being an introspective loner whose Digimon forms are wolf-themed and two of them even have Garurumon in the name. His personal arc [[spoiler:related to his twin brother]] is also similar to Matt's own one with T.K.
* EyeBeams: Uses them twice during his fight with [[ThresholdGuardians Karatenmon]].
%%* FragileSpeedster: Though less so than Zoe. At least he's capable of defeating opponents in both his forms. [=MagnaGarurumon=] takes this further, being a sort of a combination of LightningBruiser and GlassCannon.
* GoldMakesEverythingShiny: All of his Digimon forms except for Lobomon use it.
* GratuitousGerman: In the original version, all of Koji's evolutions have Germanic names and his attack names are in German.
* GratuitousSpanish: Wolfmon was renamed "Lobomon" in the US and Latin Spanish dubs, where "lobo" means "wolf".
* HeavenlyBlue: Averted with [=MagnaGarurumon=], who is blue, but has no connection to anything divine, [[spoiler:though it's played straight with Susanoomon, who uses some of [=MagnaGarurumon=]'s armor]].
* HeroesLoveDogs: Episode 33 shown Koji has dog which he named "Garmr". 2019 CD drama implies that[[spoiler: he very close with Garmr to the point he decide to discard TwinSwitch idea with Koichi because he worried Garmr will attack or bark at his brother if they still do that.]]
* ImageSong: "In the Blue".
* IneffectualLoner: Has a rotten personality at the beginning and largely preferred to act on his own.
** He gets called out on this by [[ThresholdGuardians one of his opponents]] in the Sakkakumon mini-arc.
* InformedAbility: [=MagnaGarurumon=] is said to be stronger than the Warrior Ten, who are treated like {{Physical God}}s by the narrative. In the show itself, just like [=EmperorGreymon=], he's routinely tossed over by the Royal Knights amd at one point three [=SkullSatamon=], none of which are opponents he should have any issues with in theory.
* InformedAttribute: One item of side material describes him as a "shy and lonely boy". While he does feel lonely due to his ParentalIssues which affected him when he was socializing with the others, Koji is never shown to be a "secretly shy boy", and has never been seen to have any kind of [[ShrinkingViolet social anxiety]] or [[NoSocialSkills difficulty in speaking his mind]] like [[spoiler:Koichi]]. This is proved during his argument with Takuya during the ''Duskmon arc'', where Koji has no problem disagreeing with Takuya's idea to reuse the same plan to defeat Duskmon while the others like Zoe and J.P, while they do question Takuya, still follow his plan.
* TheLancer: To Takuya, moreso as the series goes on and especially in the final arc where the two of them do all the fighting.
* LaserBlade: Uses two laser swords (called ''[[GratuitousGerman Licht Schwert]]'' in the original) as Lobomon and [=MagnaGarurumon=]. As the former, he can even [[DoubleWeapon combine them together]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Hikari no Theme", which translates to "Theme of Light".
* LethalChef: Like Takuya, he has barely any experience in cooking. Bokomon and Neemon were victims of his cooking.
* LightEmUp: As the Legendary Warrior of Light, almost all of his forms rely on light-based attacks.
* LightIsGood: Although he is one of the few (if not the only) protagonist Digidestined associated with light that lacks any Holy connotations.
* LonerTurnedFriend: Koji preferred to go on his own while helping out the group here and there. He eventually joins their group.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: [=MagnaGarurumon=]'s Magna Missiles attack involves firing a huge number of missiles at his target.
* MelancholyMoon: His ImageSong, "In the Blue", talks about his loneliness via the metaphor of a "blue moon".
* MissingMom: Koji has a photo of his mother on his desk and was told that she died when he was born .[[spoiler:(except she actually wasn't, and his father had lied to him)]]. Like [[Anime/DigimonTamers Juri]], he has trouble getting along with his stepmother because of this. However, he eventually warms up to his stepmother, and even mentions that she is the only one he will call "Mom".
* MoreDakka: Again, [=MagnaGarurumon=] exemplifies this. His body is covered in guns.
* NobleWolf: All of his Digimon forms have lupine features and his element is [[LightEmUp light]].
* NonIndicativeName:
** [=KendoGarurumon=] doesn't really have anything to do with Kendo. Early promotional material for the dub named the character as [=BladeGarurumon=], a name which made at least slightly more sense, before it was changed.
** For that matter, Beowulfmon doesn't have a whole lot to do with Beowulf.
* ProtagonistPowerUpPrivileges: To a greater degree than his counterparts in the first two seasons. Like Takuya, he gets two more power levels than the rest of the heroes.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Takuya's red.
* RollerbladeGood: [=KendoGarurumon=] has roller-skates on his feet.
%%* ScarfOfAsskicking: Gains one as Lobomon.
* ShapingYourAttacks: Beowulfmon's Frozen Hunter attack is shaped like a giant wolf made of light.
* ShedArmorGainSpeed: As [=MagnaGarurumon=], he can only use [[SuperSpeed Starburst Hunter]] (Starlight Velocity in the original) after removing his guns and armor.
* SiblingYinYang: In a literal way. [[spoiler: He wields the Light spirits, while Kouichi uses the Darkness spirits.]]
* SpamAttack: As [=MagnaGarurumon=], he can fire continuously until his ammo runs out.
* StoryBreakerPower: Like Takuya, he gains the ultra-powerful Zeta Hybrid (equivalent to a second evolution Mega, like Omnimon or Gallantmon Crimson mode), although he's clearly not quite on Takuya's level.
* TakingTheBullet: He does this for Takuya in a fight against Duskmon. Thankfully he survives and the revelation that Duskmon just [[spoiler: almost murdered his brother]] sends him into a VillainousBSOD and essentially saves the group.
* ThemeTwinNaming: Koji has theme naming with his twin brother Koichi; Koji means "second light" and Koichi means "first light". It also shows that Koji is the younger twin.
* TroubledButCute: We don't find out what's troubling him until the Duskmon arc, though.
* WhiteWolvesAreSpecial: His Digimon forms are based on wolves, and since his element is light, those forms are also mostly white/silver, appropriate for a Legendary Warrior.
* WolfMan: Lobomon appears as a humanoid wearing wolf armor.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Zoe Orimoto (Orimoto Izumi)]]
''"I won't act like someone I'm not just so I can be popular."''

[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Zfrontier_8321.jpg]]

Zoe is the only girl in the group. She is very kind and while she fights, she does it to protect others and herself. As Ranamon put it, she's usually too nice to kill an enemy. Although, she does still have her tough side, and is not afraid of speaking her mind when she feels strongly about something. She is very good looking too, with J.P. having a crush on her. Her Spirits are the reincarnations of [=AncientKazemon=], Warrior of Wind.

Her spirit evolutions are as follows:
** '''Human Hybrid''': Kazemon ''(Fairymon)'', a [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin fairy Digimon.]] She is an attractive girl wearing purple armor with butterfly wings.
** '''Beast Hybrid''': Zephyrmon ''(Shutumon)'', A half-bird Digimon. Resembles a more mature looking Kazemon with more feral armor and large bird wings as well as an odd bird wing shaped haircut.
** '''Advance Hybrid''': [=JetSilphymon=]. Appears only in the D-Tector virtual pet.
->Voiced by: Creator/SawaIshige (JP), Creator/MichelleRuff (EN), Creator/MartaSainz (Spain), Mireya Mendoza (Latin America), Raquel Marinho (Brazil)
----
* AssKicksYou: Fairymon’s Love Tap/Carino Anca is a flying hip bump.
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: She's the only female in the group and her outfit has this on display throughout the entire series and even carries over into her Digimon forms. She even got her bellybutton tickled in episode 23.
* BigEater: Incredibly, even more than J.P. She managed to win an eating contest and shocked numerous Digimon, as well as Koji and Takuya, as she scarfs plate after plate and continues to call for more meals.
** She continues to scarf for and call out for more (even though the competition only called for eating 30 plate in an hour), well after J.P. had to give up due to being overfilled, despite not having eaten nearly as much as Zoe had.
** If you count the number of plates, Zoe was finished her 46th plate and calling for more, while J.P. had to quit on his 17th plate.
* BlowYouAway: She's the Legendary Warrior of Wind.
* BroughtDownToNormal: She loses her spirit to Grumblemon. J.P. gets it back for her later on.
* BrutalHonesty: Izumi is very honest with her words. Unfortunately, it gives her classmates the impression that she's snobby.
* ButNotTooForeign: Japanese, though grew up in Italy. She's still a blonde, but this is anime after all.
* CatchPhrase: "Commozione!", in Japan only.
* CoyGirlishFlirtPose: Combined with an animated version of SayItWithHearts, to try and get help from a ''Trailmon'', of all things. Which ''works''. Takuya sweatdrops, while J.P. is in love. Later, she blows a kiss to all her teammates after saving them from Ranamon, which was shown with hearts in the background and her making a flirtatious pose.
* CuteMonsterGirl: Her "Beast" Spirit is much more human-looking than any of the guys and... [[CuteBruiser really, really cute.]] {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d; this really pisses off Calmaramon. In fact, all of her forms could count.
* DesignatedGirlFight: Often with Ranamon due to Ranamon specifically targeting her out of jealousy.
* DistractedByTheSexy:
** Her outfits as Kazemon and Zephyrmon both speak to this, as they consist of little more than boots and gloves over a bra, panties and garter straps. Kazemon's Love Tap attack is even meant to make her enemies fall in love with her to distract them.
** There are some instances when this applies even when she's in her human form (primarily with J.P.) Not only the aforementioned, but she wears a short shirt that shows her stomach, has long blonde hair, and wears a pink skirt. Also, Takuya got distracted from his battle with Cherubimon daydreaming about being on a date with her after she offered him one.
* DudeMagnet: Takuya, Koji, Koichi and J.P. have all shown some interest in her. Even Tommy has proven to have some [[PrecociousCrush feelings for her]], as hearts shown in his eyes while blushing when she gave him a hug after she saved the guys from Ranamon. The [=HoneyBeemon=] and Toucanmon are both attracted to her as well.
* {{Expy}}: Has traits of both Sora and Mimi (more of Mimi in personality, while more of Sora in her Digimon forms' attributes) from ''Adventure''.
* FacialMarkings: A green stripe on either cheek and on either side of the forehead as Kazemon.
* FairySexy: Kazemon with her {{Stripperific}} outfit is basically a big fairy. In Japan, she's called Fairymon.
* FauxActionGirl: Downplayed. In her first one on one fight, her human spirit, Kazemon, doesn’t do too well and had to be saved by Lobomon. As time goes on she slowly improves and has a better showing in her first battle as Zeyphermon, though that fight ends in a draw. By the time of the final battle with Cherubimon, she’s the only other character aside from Takuya to claim both human and beast spirits from one of the evil Legendary Warriors, which in her case was Ranamon.
* FemmeFatale: At times, she even has used her good looks to bribe males into doing things for her, especially J.P.
* {{Flight}}: She can fly while using either of her spirits.
* FragileSpeedster: Her Digimon forms are both shown to be very agile and have more mobility than the others thanks to flight, but they're also lacking severely in the defense department and are prone to getting smacked around.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: All the wild Digimon flock towards her rather than the guys because of her kindness and compassion. Particularly shown with the [=HoneyBeemon=] and Gomamon.
* GratuitousItalian: She often peppers her speech with Italian phrases.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: A selfless and caring blonde.
* HairSubstituteFeature: Zephyrmon, Zoe's beast spirit form, who looks like a tall beautiful harpy with head-wings that blend seamlessly with the rest of her hair.
* TheHeroine: While Takuya is undoubtedly the Hero, her personality and actions are just about as heroic as his. She's the Heroine to Takuya's Hero, which strongly explains their initial disagreements. She is shown always to want to help others and keep everyone safe.
* ImageSong: [[IAmSong "Kaze no Shizuku"]], which translates to "Wind Drops".
* InvisibleParents: Her parents are never seen, not even in flashback.
* KickChick: Kazemon's fighting style is clearly inspired on UsefulNotes/{{Capoeira}}, with plenty of hip and leg-based attacks, including handstand kicks. Zephyrmon's isn't, as she has bird-like feet which are not adequate for kicking.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Kaze no Theme", which translates to "Theme of Wind".
* MsFanservice: Her Digimon forms, Kazemon and Zephyrmon, look less like warriors and more like winged fashion models in skimpy lingerie. One of Kazemon's attacks is hitting things with her behind - see AssKicksYou above.
* NiceGirl: Easily the kindest character in the show.
* {{Ninja}}: Zephyrmon has shades of this, due to her wearing a CoolMask and a ScarfOfAsskicking, and also for being a FragileSpeedster.
* ObliviousToLove: Is the object of J.P.’s affections, but she doesn't seem to want anything out of it though, even with how obvious J.P. makes it.
* OneWayVisor: As Kazemon.
* OurFairiesAreDifferent: Her first spirit form is even called "Fairymon" in the Japanese version.
* PinkIsFeminine: Being the sole female of the warriors, she gets a pink D-Tector.
* RazorWind: Zephyrmon's Hurricane Gale attack.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Unlike the previous Digimon series, Zoe is the only female main character. The transforming-into-Digimon gimmick means she doesn't even have a partner to interact with.
* SpinAttack: Kazemon's Tempest Twist and HurricaneKick.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Both of her Digimon forms look like they're wearing Victoria's Secret underwear
* TakingTheBullet: The only reason why Tommy wasn't BroughtDownToNormal before her is because she intercepts Grumblemon's attack.
* TornadoMove: Zephyrmon is shown to be able to use one during the battle with [=IceDevimon=], though it was only used to generate a whirlwind that was used in a combined attack with a small-scale BreathWeapon from Korikakumon.
%%* WindIsGreen: As a secondary coloration for Kazemon only.
* WingedHumanoid: Both of her Digimon forms are this. Kazemon resembles a fairy but even her beast spirit, Zephyrmon, is very humanoid in appearance in contrast to everyone else's beast spirits, which are more monstrous.
* WomenAreWiser: She claims that the reason she was able to control her beast spirit immediately is because she's a girl. The guys don't appear to buy this, but there is nothing to disprove it in-universe.

[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/THimifrontier_7680.jpg]]

Tommy is the youngest member of the group. He is always genuine in his feelings and looks up to Takuya Kanbara as his hero. As the series progresses, Tommy learns to stand up for himself, even fighting his own battles. His Spirits are the reincarnations of [=AncientMegatheriummon=], Warrior of Ice.

His spirit evolutions are as follows:
** '''Human Hybrid''': Kumamon ''(Chakkumon)'', a beast man Digimon. A humanoid polar bear with green armor and a snowball cannon.
** '''Beast Hybrid''': Korikakumon ''(Blizzarmon)'', a beast Digimon. Resembles a large white yeti with spear-tipped dreadlocks and two huge axes.
** '''Advance Hybrid''': Daipenmon. Appears only in the D-Tector virtual pet.
->Voiced by: Creator/KumikoWatanabe (JP), Creator/BrianneSiddall (EN), Pilar Puebla (Spain), Azucena Martínez (Latin America), Thiago Keplmair (Brazil)
----
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Korikakumon has earrings.
* AlliterativeName: Kumamon's '''B'''lizzard '''B'''laster.
* AnimalMotifs: A Bear and Ape.
* BadassAdorable: As Kumamon, who is basically a teddy bear with a snowball launcher but is more than capable of fighting the forces of evil. Tommy himself also becomes this towards the end of the series once he learns to stand up for himself and not rely on others so much.
* TheBerserker: Downplayed the first time he uses his Beast Spirit. He managed to avoid completely losing it the way Takuya did, but he still seemed to [[BloodKnight really enjoy]] curbstomping Petaldramon.
* BigfootSasquatchAndYeti: Korikakumon, an enormous, bear-like creature that dual wields axes and is completely naked save for his fur.
* BladeSpam: Korikakumon's use of his dreadlocks as CombatTentacles.
* BreathWeapon: Kumamon's Crystal Breeze attack is an ice-based one. As Korikakumon, he uses what looks like a smaller-scale version of that ability to make one of Zephyrmon's attacks stronger when fighting [=IceDevimon=].
* BroughtDownToNormal: He loses his spirit to Grumblemon and remains that way for a rather long time. Takuya gets it back for him later on.
* BullyMagnet: He is bullied into the train to the Digital World by two older boys when we first meet him. It's indicated that it's due to him being ProneToTears, and throughout the anime he becomes braver and even saves his two bullies from danger, ultimately [[BefriendingTheEnemy gaining their friendship]].
* CharacterDevelopment: We first see Tommy as a crybaby wanting nothing more than to go home. By the end of the series, he has turned into a brave little boy.
* CombatTentacles: Korikakumon uses his BraidsOfBarbarism this way and is able to either jab (they have arrowheads on the ends) or restrain his enemies with them.
* CrossdressingVoices: In both the Japanese and English version, and in both European and Latin American Spanish dubs, his voice actor is a woman.
* DualWielding: Korikakumon has two of them, one for each hand.
* {{Expy}}: Of T.K., given their similar young age, initial naivete and little brother-like attachment to one of the main two children. His element and attributes while in Digimon form, on the other hand, are straight from Joe.
* FacialMarkings: As Kumamon.
** Korikakumon also has markings on his forehead and under his eyes.
* FourFingeredHands: As Kumamon his hands only have three fingers.
* AnIcePerson: He's the Legendary Warrior of Ice.
* IGotBigger: 2019 CD drama confirmed that Tomoki start growth spurt to the point he now taller than Takuya.
* ImageSong: "Say yes!" And boy, is it adorable.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Once used a stick against the other 4 kids (Takuya, Koji, Zoe and J.P.).
%%* KidAppealCharacter
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Koori no Theme", which translates to "Theme of Ice".
* LightningBruiser: Korikakumon is a lot more nimble and acrobatic than any of the other Beast Spirits despite his size. He also does a couple of {{Flash Step}}s.
* MoreDakka: Kumamon's snowball gun.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: Kumamon is the smallest of the Human Spirits, yet still fights well for his size. His Beast Spirit, on the other hand, isn't smallest (Zoe's is) but a pretty big one.
* PrehensileHair: Korikakumon can use his dreadlocks as tentacles.
* ProneToTears: Tommy started off as a big crybaby who wanted nothing more than to go home.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: Kumamon's Frozen Tundra, which turns his body into one or several ice spikes.
* SignatureHeadgear: Seemed to feel his hat warranted a special mention in the entry for him Bokomon was writing in his GreatBigBookOfEverything.
* TheSmartGuy: In contrast with his young age, he's probably the most rational member of the team and less prone to make stupid mistakes.
* {{Snowlem}}: Kumamon is made of snow himself. His TransformationSequence shows him fall into a shapeless pile of snow before reforming, and his Frozen Tundra shapes his snow body into ice.
* SpamAttack: Korikakumon's Avalanche Axes attack involves slashing the target numerous times. The hits all seem to connect at once, though.
* SpoiledSweet: A MamasBoy who was coddled by his parents, given everything he ever wanted, and is still a genuine and fun loving person.
* StolenGoodReturnedBetter: After being stolen by the Toucanmon, Tommy's D-Tector is sold to Datamon, who adds Tommy's Beast Spirit before returning it to him.
* SuperStrength: As Korikakumon, he's enough to lift Petaldramon, who is much larger than normal at the time.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: In the ninth episode, he wakes up from a nightmare saying "I won't forgive you!" repeatedly as he attacks his own friends. Interestingly, it's worth noting that this was due to being manipulated by Bakumon into going against his own friends before Takuya realizes what is going on and goes to purify Bakumon.
* VocalDissonance: As Korikakumon, his voice sounds almost exactly like it does in human form except that it's more gravelly.
* VSign: Does this in his TransformationSequence, despite having [[FourFingeredHands three-fingered hands]]. It's rather adorable.
* YourSizeMayVary: As Korikakumon, he varied in size from about 2.5 to three times the height of the human characters (about ten to thirteen feet) to more than twenty feet in one instance.

[[folder:J.P. Shibayama (Shibayama Junpei)]]
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Jfrontier_1524.jpg]]

At the start of the series, J.P. shows some jealousy towards Takuya Kanbara, the main character of this series for being Tommy Himi's hero and being able to combine both of his Digimon forms into a more powerful form. He also shows feelings for Zoe Orimoto, the only female of the group. J.P. also seems to have a hidden fear of being alone - despite being constantly surrounded by people when he was in the real world, he felt that he had never really been anyone's real friend. His Spirits are the reincarnations of [=AncientBeetlemon=], Warrior of Thunder.

His spirit evolutions are as follows:
** '''Human Hybrid''': Beetlemon ''(Blitzmon)'',a cyborg Digimon. a large humanoid beetle with electric powers.
** '''Beast Hybrid''': [=MetalKabuterimon=] ''(Bolgmon)'', A cyborg Digimon. A cross between a beetle-shaped mech and an army tank.
** '''Advance Hybrid''': [=RhinoKabuterimon=]. Appears only in the D-Tector virtual pet.
->Voiced by: Masato Amada (JP), Creator/SteveBlum (EN), Creator/PepeCarabias (Spain), Mauricio Valverde (Latin America), Vagner Fagundes (Brazil)
----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Junpei has an obvious crush on Izumi, but unfortunately for him, she just doesn't feel the same way.
* AnimalMotifs: Beetle.
%%* {{Balloon Belly}}: Happens to him in episode 17.
* {{BFG}}: As Borgmon/Metalkabuterimon, has one mounted on his head for his Field Destroyer/Positron Cannon move, which has a serious recoil.
* BigEater: He looks like it too but he's not ''nearly'' as big of an eater as Zoe.
* BigFun: He's a bit overweight, but he's probably got the most playful personality of the crew.
* TheBigGuy: His Digimon forms are the most physically imposing of the group and J.P. is also the kid with the largest build. He is also the oldest, being in 7th Grade.
* BoisterousBruiser: Loud and proud, J.P. loves to show off and kick tail. There were points where he would digivolve just to show off.
* ButtMonkey: Tends to get the most punishment in the group and is the butt of jokes.
* DoggedNiceGuy: Towards Zoe. While he never really gains her affections, he does gain her respect and friendship.
* FearOfThunder: [[IronicFear Ironically enough]] he has this despite becoming the Legendary Hero of Thunder.
* FriendlessBackground: It's eventually revealed that despite being such a friendly and outgoing guy, J.P. has no genuine friends to speak of. Instead he used magic tricks and candy to impress people, but nobody ever bothered to get to know him beyond that.
* GeniusBruiser: J.P. is mostly a brawler but he's also probably the most book smart in the group. When trapped on the moon, he's the one to develop the plans to a rocket that they use to get themselves back to the earth.
* {{Hammerspace}}: Where ''does'' he keep getting that chocolate?
* HopelessSuitor: J.P. develops a crush on Zoe and tries to woo her throughout the series, but in the end [[AllLoveIsUnrequited gets nowhere.]]
* ImageSong: "Spark!!"
* InvisibleParents: His parents are never seen, not even in flashback.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Ikazuchi no Theme", which translates to "Theme of Lightning".
%%* LoveBubbles: Has these towards Zoe several times.
* MechanicalInsects: [=MetalKabuterimon=] mixes Beetlemon's humanoid beetle features with that of an army tank, with cannons in his hands and tracks instead of wheels.
* ShockAndAwe: He's the Legendary Warrior of Thunder.
%%* ShouldersOfDoom: Beetlemon has them.
* TheSmartGuy: In addition to being TheBigGuy, he's also this. He's the smartest of the group, but he has some GeniusDitz tendencies.
* SweetTooth: J.P. has a major hankering for sweets. In his backstory he's shown to carry a lot of candy at school and tries to use this to make friends.
* TankGoodness: [=MetalKabuterimon=] resembles a tank.
* TastesLikeFriendship: Invoked. He offers chocolate to his friends and we later learn that this was how he got people to hang out with him in real life. Unfortunately he has no real friends and Volcamon uses this against him in the Sakkakumon mini-arc.
* ThrowTheDogABone: In a possible attempt to make J.P. look more mature in the eyes of his companions, Zoe in particular, Latin American dubs often implied that Zoe was starting to like J.P. She even mentions a possibility to let him take her on a date someday; while in the original Japanese script (and the rest of versions) Zoe just goes up to respect J.P., it never goes past that.
* ThunderBeetle: He has inherited the Spirit of Thunder, and his Digimon forms are all themed after rhino beetles. Not only that, but the original Warrior of Thunder, [=AncientBeetlemon=], is the ancestor of all insect Digimon, and this is reflected by how it has features of both the Kabuterimon (rhino beetle) and the Kuwagamon (stag beetle) lines (although the latter doesn't have thunder powers).

[[caption-width-right:210:]]

Koji's twin brother, first introduced as the corrupted Warrior of Darkness, Duskmon. Prior to the start of the series, his dying grandmother informed him that he and Koji had been SeparatedAtBirth by their parents' divorce, which lead to Koichi watching Koji in secret. The day everyone was summoned to the Digital World, he tried to follow Koji again but missed the elevator, leading to a nasty StaircaseTumble. His spirit is then transported to the Digital World, where Cherubimon made him the Warrior of Darkness. He is eventually purified by Koji and joins the team as the SixthRanger. His purified Spirits are the reincarnations of [=AncientSphinxmon=], Warrior of Darkness.

His (true) spirit evolutions are as follows:
** '''Human Hybrid''': Lowemon, a warrior Digimon. He resembles a large man wearing lion-themed black armor.
** '''Beast Hybrid''': [=JagerLowemon=] ''([=KaiserLeomon=])'', a cyborg Digimon. A robotic black lion that vaguely resembles [=SaberLeomon=].
** '''Advance Hybrid''': Rhihimon. Appears only in the D-Tector virtual pet.
->Voiced by: Creator/KenichiSuzumura (JP), Creator/CrispinFreeman (EN), Inma Gallego (Spain), Rodrigo Miranda (Latin America), Wendel Bezerra (Brazil)
----
* AnimalBattleAura: [=JagerLowemon=]'s [[FoeTossingCharge Dark Master attack]] generates a lion-shaped one.
* AnimalMotifs: Lion.
* AnAstralProjectionNotAGhost: Possibly. It might depend on whether this Digital World runs on NarniaTime or the portal between the two uses inter-dimensional time travel. Either way, [[spoiler: the doctors were still trying to resuscitate Kouichi when the others returned to the human world.]]
* BadassBoast: As Lowemon when he defeats 2 Phantomon. "Confused evil souls, be buried in darkness and sleep. Let the shadows purify you. Fractal code, digitize!"
* BerserkButton: As the illusory Cherubimon and [=IceDevimon=] found out the hard way: if Koichi has any fighting capability and access to his Spirits, do ''not'' hurt Koji in front of him.
* BlackKnight: Lowemon is a heroic one, in contrast to the more demonic-looking and violent Duskmon.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: As Duskmon, being a corrupted version of the Legendary Hero of Darkness and a minion of Cherubimon. He's snapped out of it by the heroes when they defeat him.
* CastingAShadow: He's the Legendary Warrior of Darkness.
* ChestBlaster: Lowemon fires his Shadow Meteor attack from the decorative lion's head on his chest.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Invoked by Patamon, who points out that just because Cherubimon utilized darkness for evil doesn't mean it's inherently evil, which is what Koichi initially feared after his HeelFaceTurn.
* DeadAllAlong: After falling down a flight of stairs, [[spoiler: Koichi's body became hospitalized and his soul became detached from his body,]] manifesting in the Koichi we see throughout the series. It's unclear whether [[spoiler: Koichi was actually dead during this time]] or whether it was the HeroicSacrifice that [[spoiler:stopped his heart, though supplementary materials refer to Koichi as having been "brought back to life."]]
* DeathByFallingOver: When trying to catch up to his brother in the real world, [[spoiler: he trips and falls down a flight of stairs. His spirit somehow makes it into the Digital World but leaves his broken body in the real world to die.]]
* DramaPreservingHandicap: The Spirits of Darkness are shown to be the strongest set of Spirits outside of the Zeta Spirits, the Human Spirits alone being shown to be equal in power to the Fusion Spirits of Flame and Light. As a result, once Koichi joins the group, he's largely kept out of the battle by giving his Spirits to Koji so he can become [=MagnaGarurumon=]. The rare times he does fight for himself, ''he'' tends to deliver the finishing blow, and shows himself to be stronger than the others individually, such as with the Phantomon or [=IceDevimon=].
* EarnYourHappyEnding: He was hospitalized after [[spoiler:chasing after Koji on the day everyone first went to the Digital World due to falling down a flight of stairs.]] Thus, he was [[spoiler:a purely digital spirit]] the entire time he was with them, possibly while [[spoiler:dying in the real world.]] Once the final battle is over, the other chosen children return to the real world and rush to where [[spoiler:Koichi is being kept.]] Koji is able to [[spoiler: revive and reunite with his brother,]] [[ThePowerOfFriendship with]] [[ThePowerOfLove the others' help]].
* {{Expy}}: More or less to [[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 Ken]]. His true evolved forms are a tribute to the Leomon line.
* GoldMakesEverythingShiny: Both of his Digimon forms have gold as a secondary color.
* GratuitousGerman: Every one of his evolution forms.
** His attacks in both forms have German names in the Japanese version.
* HeroicSacrifice: In the final episodes he [[spoiler:throws himself in front of Lucemon's attack]] to save the rest of the group, [[spoiler:which destroys him.]] His [[spoiler:final]] act is to give his Digimon spirits to Koji, who then fuses with Takuya to form Susanoomon.
* IconicOutfit: One weirdly done by the merchandise; nearly all supplemental material depicts Koichi wearing his cap, which he hadn't actually worn for the majority of the anime proper (he'd only worn it during the flashbacks of following Koji around, and had lost the hat after falling down the stairs).
* ImageSong:
** "[[BrokenBird Oreta Tsubasa de]] [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin (With Broken Wings)]]".
** The Dub gives him "Darkness In My Heart", making him one of, if not the only, dub Digimon characters with an Image Song.
* JerkassBall: Koichi is normally quiet and soft-spoken by default compared to Koji. When the kids are trapped on the Moon and Metalkabuterimon offers to explain to Lowemon his complicated formula for building the rocket, Lowemon quickly says "No thanks!" to him, refusing to hear his explanation since Lowemon can see that the first formula that Metalkabuterimon explains will not work.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Yami no Theme", which translates to "Theme of Darkness".
* LongLostRelative: Koichi's twin brother, who he was separated from at birth.
* MissedTheCall: Koichi is noticeably the only kid (out of hundreds) who never received Ophanimon's message in the real world. He only winds up in the Digital World because he's following Koji. He gets the chance to [[TheCallLeftAMessage answer the Call for himself]] later on.
* MoreThanMindControl: Cherubimon taunts Koichi by informing him that this is how the Corrupted Spirits of Darkness choose their owner; they wouldn't have taken Koichi had he already not been feeling emotions of anger and hatred towards Koji. Koichi responds that he accepts that, but [[KirkSummation that things have changed and he'll never lose to the darkness again]]. This leads to Koji's D-Tector giving Koichi his own Digivice and purified Spirits.
* PantheraAwesome: Both of his Digimon forms are Leomon expies.
* TheQuietOne: It's not really addressed, but he's noticeably quieter than the other kids, going multiple episodes in a stretch where he says less than a dozen words.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Subverted. His eyes glow red briefly during his TransformationSequence and the decorative lion heads on Lowemon's armor have red eyes, but his actual eyes in both of his Digimon forms are more of a brownish color.
* TheSacredDarkness: Probably one of the best examples of the trope there is, even being able to provide an example for the "corrupt" and the "pure" form of darkness.
* SacrificialLion: His beast spirit (originally) ''is'' named Kaiser''Leomon'', [[spoiler:keeping with the series tradition]].
* ShapingYourAttacks: [=JagerLowemon=]'s Dark Master attack is a FoeTossingCharge that creates a battle aura in the shape of a lion.
* SiblingYinYang:
** In a literal way. [[spoiler: He wields the Dark spirits, while Koji uses the Light spirits.]]
** [[spoiler:His Evolutions are direct (dark themed) parallels of Koji's as well. Stage one is an animal themed warrior, stage two is a robotic version of that animal, and stage three (AllThereInTheManual) is the first stage wearing the second stage as armor.]]
** [[spoiler:His Evolutions are feline-themed. Koji's, on the other hand, are lupine-themed.]]
* SixthRanger: After his HeelFaceTurn where he's cleansed of his brainwashing at the hands of Cherubimon. He joins the group as the true Legendary Warrior of Darkness.
* StaircaseTumble: It's revealed that this is what happens to him [[spoiler:chasing after his brother in the real world, which is how he ends up in the Digital World.]]
* StalkerWithoutACrush: First seen following Kouji on the train to Shibuya station back when Kouji didn't know he existed. Later, it's shown that he went to Kouji's house at least twice and watched (appropriately) from the shadows while Kouji interacted with his father and stepmother.
* ThemeTwinNaming: Koichi and Koji, or "first light" and "second light" respectively, which indicates their birth order, as well as referencing Koji’s spirit.
* TransformationSequence: Koichi is the only one of the main cast who lacks a Beast Spirit evolution sequence (all of his instances as [=JagerLowemon=] appear as slide evolutions from Lowemon). In addition, his normal spirit evolution sequence differs a bit in form from the others, probably due to having been animated later.
* WalkingSpoiler: Talking about him in any way other than his Duskmon persona is effectively a spoiler for those who haven't gotten to the second half of the series - even [[ThemeTwinNaming his name]] is a dead giveaway he's Koji's brother.

[[folder:Susanoomon (Spoilers)]]
!!''Susanoomon''
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/susanoomon.png]]
Susanoomon is the combined form of all ten legendary warriors. He first appeared when Takuya and Koji, enraged by Lucemon killing Koichi, combined all twenty human and beast spirits to take down the latter's Falldown Mode. He appears again in the finale when the heroes combine their powers to take down Lucemon Satan Mode. His armor is a combination of parts from [=EmperorGreymon=] and [=MagnaGarurumon=].

->Voiced by: Creator/JunkoTakeuchi (JP), Creator/DaveWittenberg and Creator/SteveStaley (EN), Carmen Podio (Spain), Daniela Benítez (Latin America)
----
* AllYourPowersCombined: To the Ten Legendary Warriors. He is the combination of all their spirit forms, beast spirits included.
* {{BFG}}: The Zero-ARMS: Orochi. It's bigger than he is, and he's around two stories tall.
* {{BFS}}: Zero-ARMS: Orochi breaks apart to reveal one made of light. It is longer than Lucemon's Fall Down mode by miles and is enough to ''vivisect the demon clean in half.''
* CurbStompBattle: Once Susanoomon takes the stage, Lucemon's Falldown Mode goes down barely putting up a fight. The battle against his Satan Mode takes a bit more effort.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Anime/DigimonAdventure Omnimon]], down to his gauntlets having a Greymon and Garurumon motif.
* FacialMarkings: He has Agunimon's markings on his helmet.
* HolyHandGrenade: His design incorporates the Kanji for heaven/sky in much the same way that several of the Warriors use the Kanji for their elements, so this may actually be his [[ElementalPowers element]].
* InfinityPlusOneElement: He is the combination of all 10 of the Legendary Warriors and incorporates the Kanji form for "heaven" or "sky", signifying that his element is above any of them.
* LightIsGood: He's about as holy Japanese as you can get and gives off a ''lot'' of light, especially in his {{BFS}} attack.
* MagicalFloatingShawl: Susanoomon is named after a Japanese hero-god of storms, and he's composed of weapons and armour from both [=KaiserGreymon=] and [=MagnaGarurumon=] [[FusionDance put together and rearranged into a new shape]]. This includes the hilts of their weapons connecting together into a [[HolyHalo golden ring-like structure on the warrior's back]] while [=MagnaGarurumon=]'s golden "scarf" attaches to the base, creating the shape of a ''hagoromo''.
* MindHive: Initially between Takuya and Koji when they first fuse into him. It's later taken further when all five children fuse together for the final battle against Lucemon Satan Mode. He's also this with the remaining Legendary Warrior Spirits who resonate through him.
* MorphicResonance: He has Agunimon's FacialMarkings and blue eyes and his design incorporates a red piece of [=MagnaGarurumon=]'s armor in the same place that Agunimon had a belt buckle.
* OneWayVisor: Susanoomon's visor has no visible holes through it but he can see just fine when he puts it on.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Being a combination of both [=EmperorGreymon=] and [=MagnaGarurumon=] design wise, Susanoomon's appearance predominantly features red, blue and yellow colors as part of his overall aesthetic.
* PhysicalGod: He's based on Susanoo from Japanese mythology and is as powerful as Lucemon if not more so.
* ShapingYourAttacks: His Heaven's Thunder attack calls down thunderbolts in the shape of dragons to restrain a target.
* StoryBreakerPower: He's by far the strongest character in ''Frontier''. To put it into perspective, by the time he fought Lucemon the latter had already basically absorbed most of the data within the digital world to power himself up. Susanoomon is still able to win against him nonetheless.
* SwordBeam: His Celestial Blade attack projects one from the [[{{BFG}} Zero-Arms: Orochi]]. It's '''miles''' long.
** The blade itself is even visible for a few frames after the beam disappears.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: Downplayed. In the English dub, his voice is Takuya and Koji's voice actors speaking at the same time with no audio effects.[[note]]in every other version, including the original Japanese it's just Takuya's voice [[/note]].
* WalkingSpoiler: There's no hint whatsoever about this guy's existence until the final three episodes, and given that the catalyst of his appearance is Koichi's death he counts as one.
* WaveMotionGun: His [[SwordBeam Celestial Blade]] attack is powerful enough to one-shot Lucemon Satan mode once it's separated from Lucemon Larva.
