The deities and mythological characters of Western Europe which are playable in ''SMITE''. The Myth/CelticMythology page deals with and can provide beneficent information about their real world counterparts.
----
* CultureChopSuey: The Celtic pantheon incorporates characters from Welsh, Cornish, Breton, Scottish, Gaulish and Irish mythology.
* FightingIrish: Given that the game's premise is deities and mythical characters having to fight each other, it's understandable that the Celtic pantheon plays this trope straight. Which is also combined with BraveScot and ViolentGlaswegian.
* {{Scotireland}}: Granted, as stated above the ingame Celtic pantheon is a mixture of several tribes in Western Europe so this is inevitable. Here it's also combined with {{Oireland}}.
* TribalFacePaint: The human characters all have tattoos on their bodies.

A legend among Celtic figures, one of the more renown heroes of myth through the Ulster Cycle, famed for his barbed spear Gae Bulg. Cú Chulainn began his legend when he was named Sétanta, during an invitation to a feast by King Conchobar, the guard dog of Culann attacked him on entrance and he killed it with his bare hands. Ashamed with the act, Sétanta swore to train a new dog and guard the king's home. This impressed the druid Cathbad that he christened Sétanta with the new name he'd be known for: Cú Chulainn, the Hound of Chulann.\

Later, on a fateful day, Cathbad told a group of young boys about a prophecy that anyone who took up arms that day would become legends. Cú Chulainn took up arms for that and from there, his legends and victories grew, from holding armies at bay to gathering enough willpower to resist the allure and wrath of the Morrigan. However, he didn't get to hear the last part of Cathbad's prophecy: those who took up arms that day would also be doomed with an early death. This devastated Cathbad and sealed the hero's fate.\

Cú Chulainn is a Warrior god that is encouraged to constantly be engaged in battle.

* Cú Chulainn's passive is ''Berserk''. Rather than having a traditional mana meter, Cu Chulainn instead has a Rage meter that caps at 100 and only regenerates up to 25. In order to gain Rage, he must deal or take damage. Each ability grants a set amount of Rage for each enemy hit (more when hitting Gods), up to a limit. If he has over 85 Rage for more than two seconds, he goes Berserk, temporarily transforming into a fearsome, hulking monster. While in this form, he has increased power and gains a shield based on his maximum health, and his abilities gain new effects. Due to the nature of his passive, his Rage bar cannot be increased through items; instead, 20% of any mana increases are converted into max health.
* His first ability, ''Barbed Spear'', is a spear thrust that damages all enemies in front of him and stuns minions. Additionally, the barbs stick into his enemies, reducing healing for a brief period. When Berserk, this ability, now ''Ground Slam'', is an arm strike that damages and roots all enemies in front of him.
* His second ability, ''Vent Anger'', has him vent out his rage, increasing his movement speed and reducing his Rage. As he vents, he pulses out rings of heat that damage nearby enemies. When Berserk, this ability is constantly active, and thus cannot be used. ''Vent Anger'' will not generate Rage.
* His third ability, ''Salmon's Leap'', has him vault a short distance with his spear, damaging enemies as he lands. When Berserk, this ability, now ''Furious Charge'', is instead a short dash that both damages and pushes enemies.
* His ultimate, ''Spear of Mortal Pain'', has him swing his spear around him, damaging and knocking up enemies hit. When Berserk, this ability, now ''War Cry'', has him bellow out in fury. Enemies nearby are not only damaged but also Trembled, causing them to briefly move panicked.
----
* TheBerserker: After spending long enough in combat, Cú Chulainn transforms into a monster. His abilities also indicate how he is raging.
* BloodKnight: Cú clearly loves himself a good fight.
* BraveScot: Has a Scottish accent while being classified as a Warrior.
* BurningWithAnger: Cú Chulainn's ''Vent Anger'' involves him venting his anger as superheated steam. This makes him glow red hot and acts as a portable Mystical Mail. Strangely, this also has an inverted side-effect, this decreases his mana without any return so his anger doesn't make him angrier to the point he goes Berserk in an unwanted time. However, it's just played straight while he's Berserk, since he's certainly ''very'' mad then and automatically benefits from ''Vent Anger''.
* ClothingDamage: His clothes are ripped up from the size of his Berserk form.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: A little. "Cú" already means "hound", so including the word hound in his title makes it sound slightly redundant ("Culann's Hound, Hound of Ulster"). To see how this could've been avoided, see NewerThanTheyThink below.
* DifficultButAwesome: Don't let his "Average" difficulty label fool you; using Cú Chulainn requires you to have a keen management on your Rage meter and knowing when to transform or not while his non-berserk skills may be a little too straightforward and risky and his mobility is rather limited. His cooldown on normal and berserk forms are also separate, so if he is able to transform in the middle of a fight, he also has the option of unloading two ultimates at once.
* FanDisservice: His Berserk form. This [[MrFanservice real hunk]]'s clothes rip but now he's a slouching misshapen TopHeavyGuy who's far larger with an especially-oversized right-arm and shoulder, viciously-huge fangs from a mouth hanging open, a bulging left-eye and claws where his nails were.
* FightingIrish: Don't let the Scottish accent fool you; he hails from the northern Irish kingdom of Ulster.
* HulkingOut: The difference between his berserk state (insane) and his normal self (sane) is very stark, comparable to [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk the Trope Namer]].
* IncrediblyLamePun: The punchline to one of his jokes.
--> "What's the right way to eat Welsh cheese? Caerphilly!"
* MagicPants: When he goes Berserk his pants, though ripped, generally stay on. They magically repair themselves when he reverts to his normal state.
* ManInAKilt: The [[DontExplainTheJoke punchline]] to another one of his jokes.
--> "Ever been to Scotland? Lovely place, but how do they tell which restroom is for who?"
* MeaningfulRename: His name means "Culann's hound", reflecting the circumstances of how he obtained this new name: he killed Culann's old guard dog and became the temporary replacement until a suitable permanent one could be found. His original name was Sétanta.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Unlike other [=PC=]s, Cú Chulainn's mana functions as something like a Rage meter. It starts out with 0 mana and regenerates just until 25 mana (with potions), capping off at 100 mana at maximum. To get above 25 mana, Cú Chulainn needs to be in the battle, hitting or taking damage. Once he reaches 85 mana for 3 seconds, he goes berserk.
* MightyRoar: The ultimate of his monster form is a powerful roar that rattles the ground and makes everyone near him shake in fear.
* MrFanservice: Like Susano, he proudly shows off half of his ripped bare chest and shoulder. When Berserk, though...
** His [[{{Pun}} Bae Watch]] skin turns it up a notch, putting him in a pair of swim trunks.
* NewerThanTheyThink: His title, Hound of Ulster, seems to be a modern invention.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: The Bruiser skin's seems to have take inspiration from a certain [[Wrestling/{{Sheamus}} Great White]]'s hairdo and mustache.
* {{Scotireland}}: He's Irish yet has a Scottish accent. A bit of FridgeBrilliance comes into play once you remember he spent a good amount of time training under Scathách in Dunscaith castle, which is in Scotland. Also Ulster today has a very large population of people of Scottish descent [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantation_of_Ulster thanks to the Ulster Plantation]], which no doubt had some effect on the Ulster Irish accent. And even before that, as Gaelic cultures, the Scots and Irish already had quite a bit in common and have a long history of contact with each other on top of that. Cú is also a folkloric figure in Scotland and the Isle of Man (another Gaelic culture). In short, the two countries have an history of migration and trade links, and in any case an accent accurate to the time of Cú Chulainn would be unlike any heard today.
* SuperMode: His passive ''Berserk'' is a key part of him, making him tougher and dishing out a lot more damage and crowd-control effects with a different set of abilities with a separate set of cooldowns. When he's not ''Berserk'', the abilities available to him are generally less impactful than other comparable Warriors'.
* ViewerPronunciationConfusion: His name should actually be pronounced as something like "koo HOOL-in"; however, they use the more widely-used "kuh CULL-ehn" in-game.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: His Bruiser, Bae Watch, Wasteland, and Fiendish Rage does away with any clothing above the waist, all the better to display his ripped torso.

Artio is the Celtic bear goddess, respected as a guardian and enforcer of the cycle of balance. Sometimes she took the form of a woman or sometimes a fierce bear. She had no shrines and was less-worshiped but more respected. Her presence is felt throughout the world from the sky, forming the constellation Ursa Major.\

It is spring and just as the gods battle, Artio awakened from her hibernation but her duty and goal remains the same: enforce the balance among the gods.\

Artio is a stance-based Guardian goddess that is able to cycle through the abilities of two forms as she attacks the frontline.

* Artio's passive is ''Decompose'', which a stack that reduces physical and magical protections every time Artio hits an enemy god with her abilities. Both effects last for four seconds and can stack up to eight times.
* Artio's ultimate is ''Shapeshift'', which allows her to switch between the magical Druid and the ferocious Bear, each with their own abilities and cooldowns.
* Druid Form:
** Her first ability in Druid Form, ''Energy Surge'', pulses out a wave of energy that damages enemies. She also heals herself and nearby allies for each enemy god hit.
** Her second ability in Druid Form, ''Entangling Vines'', creates a thicket of vines around her for a brief period. Enemy gods within this area are crippled and have reduced magical or physical power.
** Her third ability in Druid Form, ''Life Tap'', channels a beam that deals five hits, damaging enemies and healing herself for each hit. Enemies will also be increasingly slowed if hit, and are rooted if hit with all five.
* Bear Form:
** Her first ability in Bear Form, ''Maul Prey'', has her slash twice in front of her, damaging enemies.
** Her second ability in Bear Form, ''Ferocious Roar'', has her roar out, briefly increasing her magical and physical protections and briefly stunning all enemies around her.
** Her third ability in Bear Form, ''Heavy Charge'', has her briefly charge forward with increased movement speed. She also damages and slows any enemy she charges through.
----
* AboveGoodAndEvil: Since she's more interested in maintaining the balance of nature and not concerned at all with the morality of the other characters. She doesn't even care who wins the war because "we all shall return to nature in the end".
* AnachronismStew: It would be unlikely for an ancient goddess like Artio to be wearing a kilt and modern tartan (in addition to the geography and culture mess-up) because they didn't even exist when she was worshiped. The ancient version of the tartan was likely available in the area where she was worshiped, but it doesn't look anything like the modern version and is significantly less well-known.
* AsianFoxSpirit: Her Spirit Guide skin changes her from a bear-goddess into a fox-eared woman who can transform into a multi-tailed fox.
* BearsAreBadNews: For her enemies, Artio is pretty much the bear that charges forward and ruins their day.
* BearyFriendly: For her allies, Artio is the bulwark that soaks damage, heals and protects them by stunning and slowing enemies.
* CombatMedic: ''Energy Surge'' heals allies near Artio when it’s cast, and she can easily shift into a bear and maul her enemies in the thick of battle soon after.
* {{Combos}}: ''Entangling Vines''' crippling effect makes it simple for her to just point ''Life Tap'' at someone and cause its rooting effect. She can also transform into a bear and add in ''Ferocious Roar'' before or after to further prevent some poor enemy from moving any much where.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: Her name more or less translates as "bear", so her title falls into this trope by calling her "the bear goddess" ("Bear, the Bear Goddess").
* {{Druid}}: Commands nature magic, heals herself and allies, and can shapeshift into a bear. Her humanoid form dresses like pop culture expects one to.
* EvilRedhead: When she's your enemy, trying to kill your team and destroy your Titan.
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: Her name is thought to derive from the Gaulish word for bear, so it's no surprise that she's a goddess of bears.
* FieryRedhead: Averted. She's pretty calm, even when warning enemies not to cross her. She's also far more ladylike than the other female member of the Celtic pantheon, the Morrigan.
* FoeTossingCharge: ''Heavy Charge'' lets her run through enemies that get in her way, dealing damage and slowing all enemies hit.
* GreenThumb: Her Druidic magic takes form in plant manipulation and making enemies decompose like plants.
* {{Irony}}: She's from a much warmer area than the Morrigan, but wears a lot more than her.
* LifeDrain: ''Life Tap'' heals Artio for every tick of damage it deals against an enemy.
* MagicStaff: Wields one in her Druid form, and uses it to deliver blasts of of magic in melee.
* MamaBear:
** Averted. Despite being a literal bear goddess, Artio wasn't focused on protecting any form of children she had.
** Discussed: She references this trope in one of her voicelines. She's fiercely protective of her allies instead, [[FridgeBrilliance which probably explains why she's classified as a Guardian, a role designed to protect teammates from damage]].
* MisplacedAccent: Artio's a Gaulish goddess (Gaul's roughly equivalent to France today), but has a Scottish accent. If anything she should have a French accent, but [[ViewersAreMorons that would probably confuse/off-put a lot of players]].
* NewerThanTheyThink: The kilt and modern tartan don't date from before the 16th century.
* PeltsOfTheBarbarian: She isn't a typical fantasy barbarian type, but she wears a fur pelt draped from her shoulders in Druid form to emphasize her connection to the wilds and nature.
* PhenotypeStereotype: She's a (Continental) Celtic goddess, thus she has red hair and green eyes like a lot of (Insular) Celts in American fiction. That being said, similarly-humanoid Celtic gods the Morrigan and Cu Chulainn are black-haired and blond respectively.
* RedHeadedHero: When she's your ally, protecting your team and working together to take down the enemy Titan.
* ShoutOut: One of her jokes is a reference to Smokey Bear, an American mascot who urges responsible camping. Another joke references Yogi the bear, who often raided "[[VerbalTic pic-a-nic]]" baskets.
--> "Only you can prevent forest fires!"
--> "I won't be raiding any picnic baskets, I'm a god''[[AccentUponTheWrongSyllable dess]]''!"
* SillinessSwitch: Her Plushie skin transforms her from a rugged-looking but noble Druid who transforms into a ferocious, wild-looking bear into a bubbly girl wearing a bear ears headband and bubblegum pink dress, who transforms into a googly-eyed teddy bear.
* SmallReferencePools: The only explanation there is for a ''Gaulish'' goddess dressing like she's from the Scottish Highlands and sounding like she's from there, too. Sure, France and Scotland are old allies (they both hate England), but Artio being a walking Scottish stereotype is taking their alliance too far.
* StanceSystem: She has a Druid stance and a bear stance, each with different abilities, and can shift between them by casting her ultimate.
* StoneWall: As a Guardian and built the way she’s supposed to be, Artio’s damage is low, but she’s able to soak damage, protect allies and disrupt the enemy team with her crowd control.
* TokenWholesome: Joins the likes of Artemis, Skadi, and Amaterasu in terms of being wholly clothed.
* TribalFacePaint: Wears facepaint on her forehead, cheeks and chin in Druid form, invoking her ties to the wilderness and primal forces of nature.
* ViewersAreMorons: The only other explanation for Artio being a walking Scottish stereotype. If Hi-Rez were to actually make her accurate to what is known of Gaulish culture, people would probably complain that she's "not Celtic" or wonder why she's French instead of Irish or Scottish ([[TruthInTelevision there's already a subset of the player base who don't think the Mayan pantheon counts as Native American just because the Maya weren't located in what became the US]]). This is assuming Hi-Rez themselves don't fall into this trope.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: She starts every game with access to her ultimate, which allows her to shift between her bear form and Druid form, with a short cooldown between each shift.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: A likely unintentional example. She wears a kilt, which is traditionally men's wear in the Scottish Highlands, and tells her enemies she's very protective of her allies, so it's best not to cross her.
* WorthyOpponent: She seems to think of Athena as one, if her directed "taunt" towards her is any indication.
--> "Although I have defeated you, I will always respect you."
* YouShallNotPass: Artio is surprisingly pretty good at this. If she has ''Entangling Vines'' active, then any enemies that tries to dash to her area gets stopped. Unlike other movement-impairing skills, it's surrounding her and follows wherever she moves, lasts for a good amount of time and nothing can dispel her vines. This also means anyone with a dash skill can't even touch her when this is active.

The Morrigan is a being that is capable of mastering and manipulating the force of fate. She is in fact one with many names sharing the title Morrigan. What was known of her past identity was of the three goddesses, progenitors of sovereignty, war, and death: Anu, Macha, and Badb. It's a mystery on how they merged into the Morrigan.\

With that, the Morrigan is able to take on many forms, from a lucid seductress, wrinkled hag, screaming crow, and to the washer of the river. If anyone sees her washing their bloody armor, they'll meet a violent end. [[ManipulativeBastard And she saw the Battleground of the Gods as prime material to manipulate.]]\

The Morrigan is a versatile Mage goddess focused on confusing and disrupting the enemy team while dealing high damage.
* Her passive, ''Doomsayer'', makes the third hit of her basic attack chain explode, dealing damage to all in its radius. Those hit will also take additional damage over time.
* Her first ability, ''Deadly Aspects'', has her summon her other two forms at both sides of her. When activated again, all three will strike, damaging and stunning enemies in front.
* Her second ability, ''Dark Omen'', casts a wave of magic that deals damage, dealing bonus damage to minions, and applies Doom for a brief duration. Doomed enemies will take bonus damage the next time they are hit by one of The Morrigan's abilities, which includes ''Doomsayer''.
* Her third ability, ''Confusion'', creates a phantom of herself while granting her stealth, increasing her movement speed. The phantom will run to the targeted area, dealing no damage and dying if it takes any damage, while the Morrigan will reveal herself and lose her movement speed buff if she attacks or takes damage.
* Her ultimate, ''Changeling'', allows her to briefly transform into a copy of any god in the current match. As a copy of a god the Morrigan will take on that god's current stats and items, but she still keeps her Relics and cannot use consumable items for the duration. She also has access to the god's abilities, though she will transfer the current ranks of her own abilities. Additionally, if she uses a god's ultimate while transformed then her ultimate's cooldown will increase to match that of the target god's. The god that the Morrigan transforms into is selected from a special menu; canceling the ultimate will instead save the current selection as a preset, allowing The Morrigan to quickly transform into that god in the future.
----
* {{Combos}}: Required out of her ''Dark Omen'' ability against gods. Half of the damage will not happen unless she hits an enemy god with ''Deadly Aspects'', uses her ultimate, damages the god with the subsequent new form's abilities, or just has an ally use an ability to damage the god in question (finally, there is the distinctly-slowest method of casting ''Dark Omen'' on a marked target again after it comes off from cooldown again...but in addition to taking the longest, doing so also means the second ''Dark Omen'' will not create a new mark on the target). Additionally, as ''Deadly Aspects'' has a very short range, ''Confusion'' can be very useful for her to get close enough to hit with it safely.
* CreepyCrows: Definitely her aesthetic, what with all of the black feathers on her person and around her abilities. She even has one flying in the foreground for her splash art.
* CuteWitch: Her Charm Caster skin resembles a young girl clad in traditional witch attire who's excited at everything.
* DarkIsEvil: She's a goddess of war, death, and fate who revels in causing bloodshed, wears dark purple and crow feathers, has black hair, and has abilities with the words dark, deadly, and doom in them.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: One common translation of "Morrigan" is..."phantom queen", making her name followed by her title into this trope ("The Phantom Queen, Phantom Queen").
* DifficultButAwesome: ''Changeling'' makes the Morrigan one of the most knowledge-demanding gods in the game (especially since the copied god's ability ranks are determined instead by your own). To maximize its full potential, players need to know what the allied and enemy gods can do and then find the most proper time to transform into them. Her ''Confusion'' ability is also arguably the least effective stealth ability in the game for the purpose of escaping with it and she has little else to quickly retreat with, making it require its own planning and timing to be used for such a purpose ([[AttackAttackAttack or you just use it to kill people instead]])
* DittoFighter: Of the "[[Franchise/MortalKombat Tsung]]xpert" variety, thanks to her ultimate.
* DoppelgangerAttack: Her ''Confusion'' summons a clone of herself. The clone is, however, very limited in that it only runs forward in the direction the Morrigan was facing upon summoning, causes no damage, and dies immediately.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: While she doesn't appear to be any paler than the other white goddesses in the game, it's hard not to think that this was what Hi-Rez was aiming for with her. She has jet-black hair, a [[CreepyCrows crow aesthetic]], wears [[DarkIsEvil dark purple]], has [[LadyOfBlackMagic creepy abilities]] with ominous names, has [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast a name that means "phantom queen"]], is a goddess of war, death, and fate among other things, and is [[SensibleHeroesSkimpyVillains one of the skimpiest goddesses]] in the game. All of this results in a very [[{{Pun}} weird]] character you know [[TheFairFolk isn't of this world]] and is best avoided.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: The Morrigan is an unashamed manipulator and revels in causing chaos everywhere. But even she's kind of appalled with Bellona's [[BloodKnight battle lust]].
--> ''We love a good battle, but you've gone too far!''
** This becomes some hilariously ironic HypocriticalHumor when one knows that the Morrigan was often associated with fertility, ''war, and lust'' and often started wars ForTheLulz.
* {{Invisibility}}: ''Confusion'' has her make herself temporarily invisible and faster while summoning a clone of her as well. However, she will immediately lose her invisibility and speed upon being damaged, attacking or trying to cast anything else.
* FragileSpeedster: The Morrigan's ''Confusion'' ability grants her a somewhat-atypically large movement speed bonus for a mage over its duration which can help her to effectively chase and outnumber vulnerable targets. But compared to the likes of, say, Kukulkan's ''Zephyr'', ''Confusion''[='s=] speed bonus will disappear '''entirely''' the moment the Morrigan is damaged while using it, generally [[GlassCannon necessitating that she use it to sneak up and attack enemies or get away before potential trouble arrives]] because if trouble's already reached her, it usually won't help.
* GlassCannon: ''Deadly Aspects'' is a deadly and stunning close-range damaging ability, ''Dark Omen'' causes a high amount of damage in a line once its mark is consumed, ''Confusion'' is excellent for facilitating the Morrigan sneaks up to enemies to use these abilities against the enemy...and these things are all pretty bad for helping the Morrigan get away from trouble since ''Deadly Aspects'' take a second to charge up, ''Confusion'''s bonuses end instantly if the Morrigan is damaged while it's in use and ''Dark Omen'' naturally will only help if it manages to kill the enemy before they kill the Morrigan.
* HotWitch: Is a Mage goddess with a "witch" theme who wears very little clothing to show off her shapely body.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: A Mage goddess known as the Phantom Queen with abilities specializing in damaging enemies.
* LighterAndSofter: Can be assumed of her ''Smite'' version if Bellona's bloodlust scares her, though that's pretty much the only instance of it. Otherwise, she seems faithful to the mythological Morrigan.
* ManipulativeBitch: Her quotes and lore seems to imply that she's using the Battleground of the Gods for her own purposes.
* ObviouslyEvil: You can tell she's bad news just by looking at her and adding her lore, quotes, and abilities (and their names) into the mix just makes it even more obvious that she lacks any good traits or subtlety.
* PsychoticSmirk: Her default expression on her in-game model. This expression is carried over to her skins as well, though those may have voicelines to characterized as far less evil.
* TheRoyalWe: Well, the Morrigan ''is'' a [[HiveMind triple goddess]].
* ShoutOut: The Morrigan's getup seems to be inspired by the same-named Morrigan from ''Franchise/DragonAge'', a character which the game's WordOfGod says wasn't at all inspired by the mythological figure with even the name coming from being heard in a tabletop game.
** Her SPF 666 skin has a line where in she more or less (wording's slightly different from the actual one) says [[Franchise/StarWars Anakin's]] [[Memes/StarWars memetic]] {{Narm}} dialogue about sand from ''Film/AttackOfTheClones''.
** Her defeat screen has her two other forms appear to squabble for them to all squabble and perform {{Slapstick}} like The {{Three Stooges|ShoutOut}}, complete with the main Morrigan putting her hand to her face block an EyePoke.
* TheSneakyGuy: One of the few gods in the game able to render themselves invisible with the stealth effect. However, the Morrigan's stealth effect is notable even among other gods which have stealth that [[GlassCannon the Morrigan has no other innate methods for effectively escaping or surviving from bad situations]], and it's also usually pretty bad at helping the Morrigan escape from trouble since its stealth and movement speed bonus effects end instantly if the Morrigan is damaged meaning [[DifficultButAwesome you're going to have to be careful and perceptive to actually escape with it]].
* SpellMyNameWithAThe: Not just Morrigan, but ''the'' Morrigan. Seeing as it's a title, it makes sense.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: The Morrigan's choice of clothing can make you think she goes to the same tailor as Neith.
** Her taunt to Zeus jokes about how little she wears (along with how much of a [[ReallyGetsAround horndog]] he is):
--> "I knew you'd be too distracted by our appearance to be able to fight!"
* TakingTheBullet: The clone that ''Confusion'' creates can suffer all of effects of an ability that can only hit one target, potentially allowing the Morrigan to use it to protect herself or allies from such abilities.
* TokenEvilTeammate: The Morrigan can be seen as this to the rest of the Celtic pantheon since there's so few members and a lack of any monster that could be eviler. Cu Chulainn is a hero and Artio and Cernunnos seem like nice, reasonable gods as long as you don't get on their bad side. Even Cliodhna, while being scary as heck, isn't actively malicious. The Morrigan, on the other hand, doesn't have a ''good'' side and is a goddess you want to actively avoid. No encounter with her ends well and there's nothing you can do to make the encounter more pleasant. Really a nasty goddess all-around.
* {{Underboobs}}: Her "top" is two strips of purple cloth attached to her choker from the front and back which wrap over her breasts and cling to her sides. The cloth covers her nipples and the top of her breasts, but leaves their undersides and cleavage on full display. In reality, she'd probably suffer a WardrobeMalfunction the moment she decides to jump.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: Like many deities in the game, the Morrigan's voice has [[PowerEchoes a distinct echo]]. In her case however, she has a distinctive reverb that makes it sound like multiple women speaking in unison, invoking her status as a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_Goddess_(Neopaganism) triple goddess]]. Likewise, she uses the "We" pronoun.
* YourDaysAreNumbered: Implying this fairly imminently is one of The Morrigan's favorite pastimes. Her ''Doomsayer'' passive and ''Dark Omen'' abilities were obviously named from this, though neither are necessarily all that strict in ensuring this.

Few do not know about the banshees, those peculiar ghostly women whose horrid wails signal those who hear it that death is soon to pass, and as the war of the gods grows rougher and humanity is caught in the crossfire, all that death soon attracts Cliodhna, their queen.\

Cliodhna is a horrifying Assassin who forces her opponents to watch for her from every direction. Just because you can't see her, it doesn't The Queen of the Banshees isn't there.
* Her passive, ''Phantasmal'', allows her to phase into a wall and move freely through it. While in a wall, some of her abilities gain LifeDrain and other additional effects, but she loses health during this time, the amount steadily increasing the longer she's inside the wall.
* Her first ability is the signature ''Banshee's Wail'', which unleashes a hellish scream that deals damage 3 times, with the final hit being stronger and inflicting Silence and Deafen. If used while inside a wall, a spectral face on the wall uses the attack in her stead, increasing the ability's width.
* Her second ability is ''Flickering Visions'', which fires a disorienting blast of energy that explodes on contact with an enemy, revoking the target's ability to sense Cliodhna until she attacks or is attacked, with her fading back into invisibility if neither condition is met. This is also her only ability that cannot be used while inside a wall. She also gains increased movement speed while at least one god is debuffed.
* Her third ability ''Lurching Claw'' is a dash that Cliodhna can recast to unleash a powerful slash. If used while inside a wall, the dash travels farther.
* Her ultimate is her ''Tearing The Veil'' between life and death to unleash a wave of banshees in a line, dealing a single heavy hit when it first opens and multiple weaker hits afterwards. When used inside a wall, Cliodhna weakens the veil instead of tearing it open. This becomes a trap that activates to open the veil and summon the banshees when an enemy gets too close.\

----
* AbsurdlySharpClaws: In her ''Lurching Claw'' ability she performs a dash before slashing at enemies with her free hand to deal heavy damage.
* CreepyLongFingers: Has these on her free hand (the other hand holding her falcata seems normal).
* TheDreaded: Lore-wise she is the queen of fey beings who herald death. Gameplay-wise she is designed to invoke fear and paranoia in enemy players due to her ability to ambush through walls.
* TheFairFolk: As a Banshee, she is one of these. Her lore profile makes it clear that while she can bestow blessings on mortals who honor her, she is equally capable of luring them to their dooms for her own amusement. She is also ultimately a terrifying herald of death and ruin.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: In the Odyssey: Perilous Seas lore, Cliodhna states that she and the Tuatha De Danann (the gods of Ireland) do not participate in the war between the gods because doing so would upset the world cycle. However, as a playable character she can very much be found actively participating on the Battleground.
* GhastlyGhost: When she makes her signature scream, her face becomes twisted and decayed to reveal her true nature as such. She also has unnaturally long and clawed fingers that make even her beautiful “surface” appearance look disturbing.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: As befitting a dread embodiment of death who can emerge from walls to take enemies at a moment’s notice.
* {{Intangibility}}: Her passive gives her the ability to walk through walls, although [[CastFromHitPoints it drains her energy to do so.]]
* {{Invisibility}}: She can become momentarily invisible to targets whom she hits with her ''Flickering Visions'' ability. In addition, while she is inside a wall she is completely invisible to everybody else—with not even wards being able to detect her. The only indication that she is in a wall near you is eerie music playing in the background.
* InterfaceScrew: Her abilities can inflict ''Deafen'', which is ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin, preventing the target from hearing anything.
* JumpScare: Allowing players to invoke this is an intended strategy by the developers. At any moment, she can [[ParanoiaFuel sneak up on you using her invisibility or pop out from a nearby wall]], surprising you with [[SuperScream a ghastly wail]] while you think you're safe. She even has an achievement named "Jump Scare" obtained by damaging enemies shortly after leaving a wall 10 times in a match.
* MarkOfTheSupernatural: She’s a ghostly being who has a translucent, greenish body under her robes. In her teaser trailer, the first indication that she isn’t human is when she starts glowing a sickly green and grins maliciously.
* NoSenseOfHumor: Although she doesn’t flat-out refuse to joke like some other serious gods, it’s apparent that Cliodhna is far from being a light-hearted individual. Even her “laughs” are basically aggrieved wails and sobs.
--> ''Humor? Humor died a long time ago.''
* NonHumansLackAttributes: Her Siren Song skin is completely naked, but doesn't show any naughty bits.
* OurBansheesAreLouder: [[CaptainObvious She is their queen, after all]]. She summons a host of them to attack enemies in her ultimate ability ''Tearing The Veil''.
* PowerFloats: As a Banshee and literal ghost, she floats across the battlefield instead of walking.
* SinisterScimitar: Her main weapon is a falcata, a curved blade with great significance in Celtic history. And she's, you know, a scary banshee.
* SuperScream: [[OurBansheesAreLouder Of course]]. Also includes her beautiful, slightly hidden face [[FanDisservice becoming decayed and contorted as her hood is destroyed by the force of her attack]].
* TimeAbyss: The Odyssey: Perilous Seas lore reveals that she has endured multiple world cycles and will continue to do so.
* ViewerPronunciationConfusion: Being from Irish Gaelic, her name can be a bit confusing to pronounce...[[https://youtu.be/BkWne4MEa6Q as shown in this video.]] It’s actually pronounced Klee-uh-na.
* YourMakeupIsRunning: Has a noticeable case of this around her eyes, which may reference the fact that Banshees are associated with death and mourning (and therefore, weeping).

Cernunnos is the master of nature, inviting people to feast upon the bounties of nature, with this one rule: Everything must be treated with respect because it's not their home. He shaped and turned around the sacred wheel that controls the seasons, changing just as they change.\

The battle between gods certainly disturbed the nature he guards, and Cernunnos just wondered . . . are these gods guests or prey? Because if these gods prove to be arrogant, then Cernunnos will mark them prey and hunt them down.\

Cernunnos is a Hunter god that, unlike other Hunters, is designed to excel in the jungle.
* His passive, ''Heavy Glaive'', has him deal additional damage to enemies in melee range when he fires basic attacks.
* His first ability, ''Shifter of Seasons'', allows him to quickly cycle between the four seasons at no mana and effectively no cooldown. Each season gives him a different basic attack passive buff: Spring Growth grants him bonus lifesteal, Summer Heat grants bonus damage, Autumn Decay applies a lengthy debuff to physical protections, and Winter Chill applies a brief slow.
* His second ability, ''Bramble Blast'', fires a vine that bursts into a circle when it hits an enemy or wall or when it reaches maximum range. The initial burst deals damage in addition to briefly rooting and crippling an enemy directly hit, and the circle lasts for an extended period, slowing and dealing damage over time to enemies within.
* His third ability, ''Horn Charge'', has him extend his horns and run forward, dealing damage.
* His ultimate, ''The Wild Hunt'', allows him to designate a large area nearby him. After a delay, the area explodes, damaging enemies and Polymorphing them into boars. While the effect lasts, Polymorphed enemies cannot attack or use abilities.
----
* BiggerIsBetterInBed: Cernunnos seems to think size matters.
* {{Cernunnos}}: The god himself, although he's considerably more stag-like than his historic depictions -- Celtic art showed him as just having antlers. He's the god of the wilderness, animals and the seasons, and his moveset mostly revolves around [[GreenThumb controlling plants]], cycling through seasonal phases, and moving through the map's jungle areas. His skins modify his design to various degrees, such as by giving him goat horns or a fully cervine head.
* {{Combos}}: Taking ''Bramble Blast'' on the chin followed by him using ''The Wild Hunt'' will be a pretty long time to be unable to dash.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Each stance of ''Shifter of Seasons'' changes the color of his passive indicator, the fur on his body, and his basic attacks, making it very clear what stance he's in and thus what buff he has (which helps since he can change near-instantly). He starts off green for spring and in order shifts to yellow for summer, red for autumn, and blue for winter.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: His name (or part of it) is often thought to mean "horn"/"horned" (''karnon'' was the Gaulish word for horns and antlers) so when paired with his title it becomes this ("Horn/Horned, the Horned God").
* DoubleEntendre: He has a joke about how he's "horny".
* EmergencyWeapon: {{Downplayed|}} by his passive ''Heavy Glaive''. It actually causes more damage with his basic attacks rather than throwing his glaives, but nonetheless, realistically speaking, he'll usually only benefit from this during emergencies or fairly low-stress situations which facilitate him just running straight up to a target.
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: His name means horn(ed). Unsurprisingly, he has horns.
* FaunsAndSatyrs: Although he's from Celtic, rather than Greek, mythology, he certainly invokes this trope with the addition of hooved deer legs to his design.
* ForcedTransformation: His ult transforms everyone it hits into boars, allowing them to move but leaving them helpless.
* FuumaShuriken: His glaive, taking a page out of ''Film/{{Krull}}'' like [[PopCultureOsmosis many other modern depictions]]. However, it's played somewhat more realistically, in that it's ''not'' a PrecisionGuidedBoomerang.
* GlowingEyes: Has them in his splash art.
* TheKrampus: His Krampus skin gives him white fur, ram horns in place of his antlers, and a basket slung across his back..
* MyEyesAreUpHere: Or rather down there in his case.
--> "I see you noticed my impressive antlers. But please, my eyes are down here."
* NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent: So far he's the only member of the Celtic pantheon to lack an accent of any kind. Considering he's also a Continental Celtic god and what happened to Artio, it's probably for the best.
* {{Pun}}: One of his jokes makes an obvious "horny" pun.
* ShoutOut: His Cursed King skin is a reference to the fairy tale ''Beauty and the Beast''. His Krampus skin naturally references Krampus.
* SnakesAreSinister: His directed taunt to Medusa implies he thinks this as he says "serpents are not to be trusted". This overlaps with either HilariousInHindsight and/or HypocriticalHumor as depictions of Cernunnos often show him wearing at least one snake as a belt.
* StanceSystem: He has one for each of the FourSeasons, each one granting him a different buff for his basic attacks.
* {{Tengu}}: His Great Tengu skin turns him into one.
* ThroatLight: His Heretic skin's mouth glows green.
* UnusualEuphemism: In Cernunnos' case, antlers seem to be code for something else. [[BiggerIsBetterInBed Something much lower.]]
