[[folder:Horrors]]
Each field contains a large monster that walks along the dungeon or field that when spotted, will chase you. Naturally, [[{{Superboss}} they're very tough]] and are only recommend to be fought if you are strong enough.
----
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Their icon on the minimap will be marked in one of three colors; red means that it will be very hard to take down with your current party, yellow means that it will be a challenge, but possible, to defeat, and blue means that it poses minimal threat.
* UndergroundMonkey: Most Horrors are very large versions of enemies found in said field or dungeon.

!!The Cat Beyond Time and Space

[[folder:Beast King Guildna]]
Guildna is king of the beast folk, a people descended from the elemental spirits. He kicks off the main plot by kidnapping Feinne, believing her to have the power that will allow him to destroy humanity. After the power of the Geo Prisma resurrects him in his younger form, he decides to find peace with the humans with the help of Altena.
----
* ClimaxBoss: He is fought properly in Chapter 13, and his defeat concludes an important arc for Aldo.
* CutsceneBoss: What the final part of his HopelessBossFight in Chapter 2 becomes. Aldo was able to unleash the Ogre Rancorem and damage Guildna using Another Force. Unfortunately, the entire sequence is rendered as a cutscene, including Guildna's own counter-attack.
* HopelessBossFight: The very first confrontation with him cannot be beaten. He knocks Aldo senseless but backs down once he notices the Ogre Rancorem.
* HPTo1: He has a move in the second phase of his boss fight that drops one party member's HP to 1% of their base health.
* JustToyingWithThem: His encounter with Aldo in Chapter 2 is a HopelessBossFight on its own, with him even mocking his opponent's swordplay. But Guildna then reveals that he was just holding back, and only started to get serious once Aldo wielded the Ogre Rancorem against him.
* KillAllHumans: His goal for his war against humanity.
* OneWingedAngel: Goes into this form for the second phase of his boss fight.
* WakeUpCallBoss: In Chapter 13. He is the first boss to have multiple phases completely separate, but also deals massive amounts of damage. His boss fight alone is a huge difference from the castle full of [[EliteMook Elite Mooks]] or anything you faced. Use your HP and MP poorly in the first phase and you can easily find yourself wiped in the second. Use your food before reaching his area and you will probably be too weak from all the random encounters to do much. In short, he cannot be cheesed as simply as most bosses prior[[note]]Vares and Galliard had weaknesses to party members provided to the player before their fights, Visus Embryo was easily killed with Another Force after half health, and Ogre Rancorem only required pure strength and stats.[[/note]] and will, for once, force the player to go out of their way to either grind levels or come up with a good strategy.
* WaveMotionGun: His boss form in Chapter 13 is able to fire one.
* YouWillBeSpared: Technically, Guildna won the duel with Aldo in Chapter 2, but he spares Aldo's life and says a variant of this line simply because the latter was able to manifest the Ogre Rancorem.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Vares]]
The Beast King's right-hand man.
----
* BarrierChangeBoss:
** His Otherlands fight is a lot tougher as he regularly switches the types of attacks he resists. Once he drops his resistance aura, though, it's a race to burst him down before a TotalPartyKill.
** [[spoiler:His upgraded form in Guildna's VC upgrade quest, Beast Vita Vares, switches the type resistance every three turns or so.]]
* TheDragon: To Guildna. He starts off by leading the attack on Baruoki to kidnap Feinne and is the first boss Aldo faces.
* EmbarrassingNickname: "Var-Var", courtesy of his sister Myrus.
* HalfIdenticalTwins: He's Myrus' twin brother.
* JapaneseBeetleBrothers: A one-man example. His horn evokes the Japanese stag beetle.
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:He seemingly dies at the climax of Guildna's VC upgrade quest, smiling as he tells his liege to "return to light". Subverted when it is revealed that he managed to survive, but it's still enough to shake Guildna to snap him out of the Phantom's voice.]]
* HeroicBuild: [[spoiler: Even in his regular form, he's absolutely shredded.]]
* HeroicRROD: [[spoiler:Beast Vita Vares will stack offensive buffs every three turns as he also changes his type resistance, but it will also deplete quite a number of his health.]]
* HulkingOut: Chapter 26 reveals his massive armored form is his "combat mode". [[spoiler: His real appearance is more nerdish and demure, but still ripped.]]
* IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight: [[spoiler:Transforms himself into Beast Vita Vares to snap Guildna out of the Phantom voices controlling him. In an unusual case, it's the party that fights him as a boss, and his defeat and apparent death are what finally did the job.]]
* KillAllHumans: His shared goal with the Beast King. [[spoiler:Drops it after Guildna returns in his younger form.]]
* LargeHam: He gets carried away quite easily when he speaks in his battle form.
* TheMindIsAPlaythingOfTheBody: According to Myrus, Vares' personality changes depending on his active form. He tends to be a LargeHam (and also rather HotBlooded and childish) in his combat form, but becomes more mild-mannered in his regular form.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Throughout the game, Vares is something of Guildna's yes-man and is very dedicated to the latter's status as Beast King - sometimes to obnoxious levels. As such, when [[spoiler:he goes out of his way to prevent Guildna from returning to the throne to become the "true beast king" in his VC upgrade quest - to the point of nearly dying as a result]], it's enough to show that whatever Guildna is about to do is ''a really bad idea''.
* WarmUpBoss: Beast Vares is the first actual boss fight in the game, but he is weak against [[PlayingWithFire Fire-elemental attacks]], which Aldo starts out with. If anything else, this boss fight just hints the ElementalRockPaperScissors mechanics.
* TheWorfEffect: [[spoiler:Berserk Geo Anguirius just swats him away before abducting Altena.]]
* XanatosGambit: [[spoiler:Sensing that Guildna was being controlled by a Phantom manipulating him into becoming the Beast King again, he gives his all at fighting him. Either he wins and [[BeatTheCurseOutOfHim frees Guildna from the Phantom possessing him]], or fail and pretends to die by molting, which would cause Guildna to have a MyGodWhatHaveIDone moment and free himself from his manipulator.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Galliard]]
The commander of the Synth Human army, before his defeat. He was built along with Helena by Professor Chronos as a pair of twin units.
----
* BadassBiker: Chases you down on a motorcycle for his boss fight.
* MotorcycleJousting: Once he takes enough damage, he rips off the machine gun on his bike and pulls out a giant electro lance to fight the player, while still riding his motorcycle.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He declared war on the humans, but only because he blames the humans for the time quakes and thinks violence is the only thing humans will listen to.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Altena]]
A beast girl, who met Aldo and Feinne years ago, when Feinne healed her leg. She's the younger sister of the Beast King, Guildna.
----
* FusionDance: [[spoiler:She is fused with Feinne into Beast Angel Geo Anguirus by the Geo Prisma.]]
* VillainsDyingGrace: After her defeat, she willingly lets Feinne go. [[spoiler:This benefits her in the end, as later in the beginning of Ogre Wars, Feinne is able to revive her with the power of the Geo Prisma]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Phantom]]
A mysterious being from beyond spacetime that's trying to destroy the universe.
----
* BearerOfBadNews: How the Phantom initially fit into the plot. [[spoiler:After Elzion vanished, He appeared before Aldo and explained that the timeline has been rewritten and the future has been destroyed.]]
* BigBad: It's his actions that drive the main plot the game. [[spoiler:[[ThereIsAnother However, it turns out he's not alone.]]]]
* CrypticConversation: His conversations with Aldo in the early parts of the story are one-sided in nature and just leave Aldo wary of what the Phantom knows about him. For example, [[spoiler:he [[ManipulativeBastard motivates Aldo to restore the future]] by mentioning Feinne's name, and when the protagonists shut down the Tower of Time, the Phantom called Aldo as "Kit of Chronos"]].
* ExactWords: In his very first appearance in the story, he begs Aldo to "save our lost future". That is to say, the future in which all of spacetime collapses upon itself.
* HijackedByGanon: [[spoiler:The ''VideoGame/Persona5'' crossover episode plays out like another of the Phantom Thieves' heists as they cause a change of heart in the leader of Lucniva. When the deed is done and the Phantom Thieves prepare to return home, another, bird-like Phantom shows up and tries to use the Metaverse for his own deeds.]]
* ITakeOffenseToThatLastOne: The phantom ignores Aldo calling him crazy, but objects to being accused of lying, since nothing it told Aldo was [[VillainsNeverLie actually false.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: He gives Aldo the goal to restore the destroyed future via traveling to the past, [[spoiler: neglecting to tell him that doing so puts the whole universe at risk.]]
* OmnicidalManiac: His [[spoiler:and his kind's]] goal is to destroy the spacetime continuum.
* ThereIsAnother: [[spoiler:There's an ''entire race'' of Phantoms that seek to destroy the spacetime continuum, all lead by a red Phantom, and are enemies to "The Goddess of Time."]]
* XanatosGambit: If he manages to defeat the heroes, the spacetime continuum will be destroyed. If he loses, [[spoiler:Chronos Menas will escape from the Dimensional Vortex and corrupt the Prisma, leading to the same result]]. He even states that anything Aldo and team do when they one-up him is delay the inevitable.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:King Palsifal]]
A king from antiquity who's working with the Oracle. He recently lost his wife and child, which had not done great favors for his mental stability.
----
* BackForTheFinale: [[spoiler:In "Return of Goddess of Time", along with the Thunder King and King Palsifal, he is summoned by Ogre Rancorem and Feinne to assist the party to re-seal Chaos using Palsifal's holy blade. After the day is saved, his memories of the events fade.]]
* TheCaligula: Although not downright warmongering or showing tyrannical traits, he shows callous disregard for the lives of people after the death of his family. [[spoiler:This arguably becomes zigzagged if the player unlocks a hidden record in Sebastia's lab after clearing the Earth trials, however, as his encounter with the child of the royal guard who died along with his wife and child steeled his resolve to protect his subjects at all costs, meaning that if they weren't his subjects, then it would be a fair game for him.]]
* DespairEventHorizon: He was already unstable when Aldo first met him, he completely loses what grasp on sanity he had after [[spoiler: the Tower of Time is shut down, denying him his choice of future.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: He's the person depicted in the statue in Aldo's hometown. [[spoiler: Though you can change that statue to one of Aldo.]]
* TheGoodKing: He used to be this until the death of his family drove him over the edge.
* OneWingedAngel: Transforms into a massive knight for his boss fight with you.
* TogetherInDeath: He has a vision of being reunited with his family [[spoiler: while in Purgatory.]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: The entirety of ''The Celestial Tower and the Shadow Witch'' is his fault. [[spoiler:The war he enacted killed Reptires' husband and in her grief she tried to take a Nopaew child as her family and give him a name...which was a taboo and the shadow force inside them possessed her, turning her into an evil witch who spreads destruction everywhere.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Visus Embryo]]
A massive, living, quantum computer that exists within The Tower of Time, and is responsible for causing the BadFuture by manipulating the dreams of the stars. [[spoiler:Despite being shut down, fragments of it becomes the main instigator of the Time Mine episode when a village would be built on where the Tower once stood, becoming active and reflecting the selfish wishes of the villagers.]]
----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:The Time Mine episode reveals that the fragments are trapped in "nightmares" it can't wake up from, forcing Aldo and co. to destroy it for good.]]
* AntiVillain: By virtue of being a massive computer that follows the orders of the Oracle and King Palsifal, and even then, its because the future it replaced would destroy all of existence. [[spoiler:Even more so in the Time Mine episode, where its fragments are in much suffering while time is being manipulated.]]
* LeetLingo: How it speaks when first fought. Losses it after loosing.
* MeaningfulName: Visus is latin for "The action of looking. The power of sight. A vision, sight, apparition." Fitting for a quantum computer that can change the corse of history.
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:The Time Mine episode reveals that some of it survived as Visus Echo, [[AndIMustScream and not in a good way.]]]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Chronos Menas (unmarked spoilers)]]
!!Chronos Menas/[[spoiler:Eden Chronos]]
While traveling back in time with his family, Eden was separated from his family and lost to the abyss. After spending 16 years being corrupted by the darkness, he lost his humanity and was twisted into a monstrous form known as Chronos Menas.

Chronos Menas was released from his prison after the Phantom's defeat, taking the role of the final boss of part 1.
----
* AllYourPowersCombined: Scattered throughout the Dimensional Vortex are the Primal Elements. The player can ignore them as they proceed through the dungeon, but Chronos Menas will inherit the abilities of the Primal Elements that are not defeated. This includes [[PowerNullifier disabling Another Force]], [[HealingFactor constant regeneration]] and [[BarrierChangeBoss alternating between absorbing magical and physical attacks]]. Destroying him without breaking the Primal Elements nets you an achievement.
* AndIMustScream: He fell into the heart of the Dimensional Vortex, where he was imprisoned for over a decade in complete isolation.
* ApocalypseMaiden: He'll spread corruption he underwent in the abyss to all the prisma around him.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: It's utterly gigantic. Its introductory cutscene has it land onto the ground...and the forests below look as tall as ''grass'' compared to it.
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: The second phase of his fight. After traveling through darkness inside him, the party finds what looks like a valley at sunrise, with the sun climbing higher over the mountains the more Aldo and Feinne's words reach him.
* BigBrotherInstinct: He prevented Cecile from falling into the dimensional vortex, only to get trapped in the vortex himself. It had the consequence of being driven mad and turned into a mindless monster that would destroy the world.
* DyingAsYourself: He manages to recover from his senses after his boss fight and say goodbye to his sister before vanishing.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: The Chronos Menas is essentially a force of nature that would destroy everything. [[JustifiedTrope It makes sense]], as its a failsafe by [[BigBad the Phantom]] to erase all of history in case it fails.
* GoMadFromTheIsolation: Eden was lost to the Dimensional Vortex when Professor Chronos tried to send his family to the past. Trapped in the void, Eden's mind was consumed by despair and madness, and he mutated into an abomination of chaos.
* LightDarknessJuxtaposition: Chronos Menas' outward appearance is dark and twisted. In the second phase, he's glowing and has buttefly wings. It contrasts what he truly is vs what he had become.
* NotQuiteSavedEnough: After finally reaching him through an IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight, he DisappearsIntoLight. The SequelHooks has the party deciding to try to rescue him more thoroughly.
* PostFinalBoss: The second phase of the fight is a lot less difficult than the first, as his only attack will deal a minuscule amount of damage to the party.
* ThroatLight: The inside of Chronos Menas glows red and flickers like a furnace.
* VacuumMouth: After he takes enough damage during his first fight, he uses one these to just swallow the entire party.
[[/folder]]

!!Ogre Wars
[[folder:Zennon Ogre]]
The ruler of the Ogre race, who wants to eradicate humans in order to take over the world. He serves as the final boss of 1.5
----
* BigBad: He takes the place of Phantom as the main villain of Arc 1.5, Ogre Wars.
* HostageForMacGuffin: [[spoiler:He demands that Guildna brings him the Elemental Arms in exchange for Altena's life. Once he does, he actually does let Altena go... [[YouSaidYouWouldLetThemGo but then he immediately fuses her with the four Elemental Arms to create The Elemental Greatsword.]]]]
* LargeAndInCharge: Averted. He's one head smaller than regular Ogres, making him a bit taller than Lokido or adult Guildna. [[spoiler:His final form is so huge you only see him above the waist during your final battle]].
* OneWingedAngel: During the second phase of the final battle with him, he takes on a more monstrous form that brandishes the full power of the Elemental Greatsword.
* ScrewDestiny: Even ''Ogre Rancorem itself'' telling him to his face that he will lose the war doesn't faze him or his plans in the slightest.
* {{Superboss}}: [[spoiler:Attempting to revisit the boss arena after his defeat pits the player in a fight against Zennon Shadow, an incredibly difficult superboss where it's powered by ''all'' of the elemental spirts.]]
* YouHaveFailedMe: His introduction involves him destroying a group of ogres that the party defeated for being a group of useless idiots.
* YouSaidYouWouldLetThemGo: [[spoiler: DoubleSubverted. He actually does let Altena go in trade of the Elemental Arms... but then he immediately fuses her with the four Elemental Arms to craft a new weapon for him to weild.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hell Ogre and Death Ogre]]
The Ogre clan's arena champions. They killed the Thunder King's son Alfaldo.
----
* TheDividual: There's two of them, but Hell Ogre and Death Ogre are always seen together and have roughly the same personality.
* DualBoss: The two of them fight together.
* IllNeverTellYouWhatImTellingYou: They tell everyone that they're not supposed to talk about the Ogre King's daughter going crazy and disappearing.
* ImAHumanitarian: As seems common among Ogres. They taunt the Thunder King by talking about how much they liked eating his son.
* MiniBoss: They're fought in the middle of storming the Ogre Spike, and while tougher than the average ogre, they are still much weaker than Zennon.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Baron Ogre]]
A powerful ogre sorcerer and Zennon Ogre's lieutenant.
----
* BondVillainStupidity: A justified example, because he's only TheDragon. He shows up right after a miniboss fight to destroy the main party while they're still injured, only to be called away by Zennon before he gets the chance.
* TheBusCameBack:
** After disappearing from the final battle in Ogres Spike, he shows up again in Chapter 48, terrorizing the Cat Shrine.
** In a side quest that unlocks Gariyu's Another Style, he [[spoiler:reveals that he was attempting to use Gariyu as a means to revive and tame a Magic Ember Dragon]].
** He reappears in Elga's Another Style quest, [[spoiler:messing with her head in order to revive her memory as the princess of the Ogre Clan]].
** He also reappears by running into the imprisoned party while investigating the land of Ro. After some cajoling from Ogre Rancorem, he helps free them.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: [[spoiler:While his messing with Elga's memories in her Another Style quest looks like done for the kicks at first, the end of said quest reveals that he truly loves Elga - or rather, Princess Elgirag of the Ogre Clan - as his niece, and was the only one who actually supported her relationship with the Thunder King's son.]]
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: [[spoiler:After being beaten by Aldo, he decides that the whole Ogre war shit isn't worth it and unlocks the magic gate leading to Zennon before sneaking out of Ogre's Spike after seeing Zennon Ogre fall.]]
* LeanAndMean: He's rail-thin compared to the other Ogres, but that doesn't make him any weaker or nice.
* PetTheDog: The heroes didn't see his actions in Elga's AS quest this way, but he was trying to help her by reawakening her memory. Summoning spectres of Hell Ogre and Death Ogre was meant to give Elga closure, as she would get the chance to destroy the ones responsible for killing her beloved Alfado.
* PuzzleBoss:
** His first battle has him summon magic bombs that you must deactivate before they blow up (a HPToOne attack) and cast a healing spell right when his life drops to 0, meaning you have to Another Force him to deliver the final blow.
** His second battle involves juggling a bomb around that will explode and damage whichever side it's on. The bomb can be attacked to knock it around the field, but if you send it back too soon, his Beloved Hound will push it to your side again. You are encouraged to have a very slow party member in this fight.
* VillainExitStageLeft: [[spoiler: After Zennon and the other ogres are defeated, he decides to teleport from the Ogre Spike.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Chrono Clan]]
Humans from Elzion's timeline who were affected by the spacetime disruptions caused by Phantom's actions, who obtained superhuman powers in the process. Calling themselves "Neohumans", their goal is to replace humanity as the dominant lifeform and wipe away the past in order to rebuild the world to accommodate them.
----
* FriendlyEnemy: They're noticeably more affable in Part II and even working together with the party to decipher the Book of the Time Dream, although this is likely due to Kamlanage's mediation.
* HumanSubspecies: They're originally humans who have been exposed to the Phantom Dust after the distortion caused by the timequake.
* {{Hypocrite}}: They want to wipe away human history... But don't mind keeping powerful artifacts in order to bolster their abilities.
* KillAllHumans: Since they see themselves as the next evolution of the human race, they plan to do that as well as getting rid of history.
** [[spoiler: However, in Part II Mildy is actually concerned about the fans who attended their concert, because while the Clan can safely teleport away from the falling stadium, the other people in there can't. Kamlanage steps in to help save everyone.]]
* KryptoniteFactor: The reason why they let the party do the legwork in Part II is because their psychic ability works poorly while they're on the surface as a result of the Prisma contamination.
* PsychicPowers: One of their abilities, involving levitation and manifesting their egos as powerful creatures.
* SmugSuper: Rubbing your "superiority" in front of humans and flashing your powers seems to be the default attitude for these guys.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mildy]]
She used to be best friends with Amy, but their paths diverged when Amy became a hunter and she moved to attend a prestigious school in another town. Now she's a member of the Chrono Clan.
----
* EvilFormerFriend: While being Amy's childhood friend, she later joined a group of supremacists against normal humanity.
* LadyAndKnight: Amy considered herself to be Mildy's knight when they were younger, but Clughorn ended up taking that role.
* ProneToTears: When they were younger she cried easily and Amy had to protect her a lot. She seems to have grown out of this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Clughorn]]
Amy's old crush, who ended up dating Mildy. He's now a member of the Chrono Clan.
----
* EvilFormerFriend: While not as close to Amy as Mildy, the three of them were all friends growing up.
* GodhoodSeeker: He believes the Neohumans will transcend humanity altogether and become gods.
* PerpetualFrowner: He's usually frowning. Amy knew she had no chance with him because he'd sometimes smile for Mildy and not her.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Berserk Beast King and Berserk Geo Anguirius]]
The Prisma-corrupted forms of Geo Anguirius and the Beast King, born from the dead corpses of the present Guildna and Altena by [[spoiler:Chronos Eden's]] corruption. They kidnap the recently revived Altena due to being drawn to her and her brother.
----
* DualBoss: They work in tandem during their fight, even using Another Force attacks.
* FinalBoss: For Ogre Wars part 1.
[[/folder]]

!!Goddess of Time
[[folder:Lord Genshin]]
The ruler of the land of Mi in Present Garulea. He is obsessed with scum, and is not a pleasant man at all.
----
* CardCarryingVillain: His obsession, for whatever reason, is to be as scummy as possible, and [[InsultBackfire he'll just take pride on it if anyone tries to insult him]].
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: DoubleSubverted. He is happy enough to put his mother in danger in order to break off her engagement to her new fiancee...because if she went through with it, his scummy antics against her new husband and his friends would make her cry.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: He is so obsessed with being as scummy as possible, that in Shigure's Another Style quest, [[spoiler:he cannot understand at all why his plan to foil his mother's engagement with Shigure [[labelnote:Details]]by isolating Shigure and have Aldo guard his mother, then stage an attack to his own mother and have them fail on purpose so it looks like Aldo saved his mother so his mother [[RescueRomance will fall for Aldo the way she did to Shigure earlier]][[/labelnote]] fails spectacularly and his mother remains devoted to Shigure. As it is, this is because Genshin's mother understands Shigure and how she sees that he is raised and surrounded by good people - Aldo included]]. He ''kind of'' succeed in the end, but not in the way he intended and it ends as his loss anyway.
* EvilIsPetty: If Myunfa's third character quest is any indication, at least half of his (planned) evil deeds involve causing as much misfortune for others through seemingly mundane deeds.
* HistoricalHeroUpgrade: Talking to an NPC in Sky Fortress Eeza reveals that hundreds of years after his time, Genshin is remembered as a good ruler. Somehow.
* IHaveYouNowMyPretty: He tries to make Akane his second wife to get to Shion. [[TooSpicyForYogSothoth However, Akane is too much for him to handle.]]
* JerkAss: He likes making his people miserable. For example, he forces a festival in Izana to use a cursed mask in it precisely because it was a horrid item.
* KickTheDog: His whole reason of assigning Shion with the task to [[spoiler:assassinating King Miglance]] is because he enjoys watching Shion suffer and trampling Shion's honor.
* PaperThinDisguise: When going out in public to cause some more trouble, he wears black cape that gives him dark-colored PaletteSwap of hooded NPC sprite in the game. So far, he is the only one associated with the variant of the sprite, and his obnoxiousness is such that Aldo can still recognize him despite being disguised.
* ATwinkleInTheSky: He gets launched to the sky at the end of Myunfa's character quest, courtesy of [[spoiler:the kettle spirit Myunfa previously contracted to]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Suzaku]]
One of the three Great Specters, and leader of the demons who terrorizes The Land of the East.
----
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Of "Return of the Goddess of Time."
* NobleDemon: He's perfectly civil with Aldo and co. when they encounter each other in the hot springs, as he has no personal grudge against them--and the ones he ''does'' want to kill [[AssholeVictim would kind of have it coming]]. With that said, his vengeance would kill countless innocents as collateral damage, and thus he's the antagonist.
* OneWingedAngel: After the first phase of his fight, he transforms into his significantly more powerful phoenix-esque form. Upon reaching 75% health, he will intentionally demonstrate a powerful AOE attack. He will use said AOE attack later if not damaged sufficiently. However, said AOE attack is not only incredibly powerful, he uses it without warning for the first time, and cleanses himself of debuffs right before using it. This can easily result in a TotalPartyKill, and if you did not go out of your way to unlock AS! Saki (who helps a lot in this fight but is also a GuideDangIt) you will be in for a brutal boss fight.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: His goal. [[spoiler:The Land of Mi and the Land of Shin destroyed his home, the Land of Ro, for not participating in the invasion of the West, so he's out to repay the favour.]]

The head of KMS's eastern division.

* KickTheDog: [[spoiler:Despite being the one responsible for Kikyo's father's death by imprisoning him in solitary confinement, he still has the gall to rub it into Kikyo's face by directing the blame to her for trying to search her father in the first place.]]
* OutGambitted: While his plan for the Book of the Time Dream remains unclear as of now, [[spoiler:Madoka Chronos - or rather, Queen Himika - revealing herself to be the Daughter of Time and hacking to the Xeno-Domain main terminal to start Project Another Eden before disappearing]] clearly throws him off, and the end of Tales from the East Part II has him ordering the KMS Eastern Division to increase the security as there is no telling on what will happen next.

[[folder: The Dark God '''(unmarked spoilers for Part III)''']]
The so-called "dark god" from the ancient times that was sealed after its defeat against the "mother goddess" more than 100,000 years ago. When Phantom Neo got ahold of Eden's spirit and therefore opening up the vortex of chaos, the party is forced to fight it to avoid the entirety of spacetime from being reduced into nothingness, and manages to seal it back with the combined help of Ogre Rancorem, the wielders of Palsifal Holy Sword from all eras, Feinne's Geo Prisma, and the power of the Sacred Beast.
----
* InvincibleVillain: It is explicitly stated to be immortal and unkillable. In the end, all the party could manage was to weaken it enough so it can be sealed back in the vortex of chaos, but as the Wards of the Light's Fading said, it is "merely sleeping, waiting for its return once again".
* SealedEvilInACan: The Phantom's gambits succeed in unleashing it, but the party is able to beat it back and it is sealed away again.

The supreme leader of the mysterious Chronos Empire ruling over the Hollow Time Layer, he leads the Empire in its conquest to erase the current "correct" time and replace it with Hollow Time Layer, as well as opposing the Goddess of Time. He is apparently the Hollow Time Layer version of Professor Chronos.
----
* AlternateSelf: From little how he is introduced at the end of Chapter 92, he is apparently another version of Professor Chronos from Hollow Time Layer. He even calls Aldo and Feinne as "children of another me".
* BigBad: Shapes up to be this for ''The Chronos Empire Strikes Back'', given that he leads the Empire and all.
* TheCaligula: There is a reason why meks are ''awfully terrified'' of humans. Furthermore, if Minalca's character quests are anything to go by, even human subjects are not safe within the Empire's iron fist, [[spoiler:since Minalca's parents were former higher-ups of the Empire and executed for treason, and Minalca had to live in extremely awful conditions as a homeless before being taken in by the arbiters.]]

!!IDA School Trilogy
[[folder:Jade and Saki's Father]]
Jade and Saki were once normal people until their father conducted experiments to infuse them with magic. This broke their family, especially when an accident involving Jade's powers claimed the life of his mother. "The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales" Chapter 3 revealed that [[spoiler:he was the head of one of the Sapient Complex labs, specifically Lab 6.]]
----
* AbusiveParents: He was a scientist who subjected Jade to cruel experiments. When Jade escaped, he then made his wife and daughter into his new test subjects.
* DemonicPossession: Jade's 5-star quest reveals that his father was not always abusive. The acquisition of a magical grimoire led to him being possessed by the cursed book, and the grimoire, speaking through his body, went on to attempt to infuse the siblings with magic.
* NoNameGiven: Until "The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales" Chapter 3, that is, [[spoiler:where it is revealed that his surname isn't Altridge. His full name is Jasper Edison, and after the whole thing involving experiments on his family, Jade and Saki took their mother's surname.]]
* GuineaPigFamily: After failing to infuse Jade with magic, he went to experiment on Saki and his wife.

[[folder:Heart Guard]]
The main antagonists of the IDA School storyline. They are beings born from when a person eats a Dark Apple to grant their distorted desires. Saki's was born from her desire to be sealed away in ice and die by the Absolute Zero Chain Jades used, while Mayu's was born from here fear of dying alone, wanting to live in a dream world as long as she can before dying.
----
* EnemyWithout: They're the physical manifestations of their dreamer's desire to stay in the dream world, and actively try to remove any obstacles to that desire.
* ImNotAfraidOfYou: Because their entire existence derives from the desire of their dreamer, they can be defeated easily if that person decides they no longer need whatever dream created them.
* LightDarknessJuxtaposition: Both Heart Guards transform in different ways. Saki's is in darkness while Mayu's is absorbing the light from her Dream World garden.
* OneWingedAngel: Both Saki's and Mayu's are two phases. Saki becomes "Heart Guard" before becoming "Defense Mechanism" while Mayu becomes "Dream Cocoon" before becoming "Mayu's Dream".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Cradle System]]
An AI system that repairs IDEA School, it gains a consciousness and tries to rebel against the School, serving as the main antagonist of Saki's Another Style Chance Encounter
----
* AntiVillain: It rebels because it's tired of getting its mind wipe, and wants to be free. Once he loses his Cradle Omega, along with some words from Saki, it gives up and turns itself in to be wiped again.
* BarrierChangeBoss: In its last two fights. Starts out weak to magic, immune to everything else. Shifts to being weak to slash, immune to everything else at 75% health. At 50% health his weakness becomes Pierce, and at 25% health it's blunt. Better hope you have good damage dealers of all four types because if you wait until turn 32, it will become a guaranteed TotalPartyKill.
* FillerVillain: Has nothing to do with the Dark Apple incident, being an example of the many other threats that IDEA faces besides the Dream World cases.
* IJustWantToBeFree: It primary reason for being an antagonist.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mother]]

----
* BigBad: Of the entire IDA storyline, being the mastermind behind the Dark Apples and the Dream Worlds.
* FlunkyBoss: She's fought alongside two bits and is immune to damage while they are both alive. The bits revive themselves a few turns after being destroyed.
* HeelRealization: She comes to her senses after her defeat [[spoiler: and refuses to fulfill Mana's desire to stay with her as the Dream World collapsed.]]
* PoorCommunicationKills: She created the apples in order to create a world where Mana could [[spoiler: meet her biological mother, since Mana mentioned wanting to see her true mother face-to-face. But Mana was actually refering to Mother herself.]]
* TragicMonster: When Mana went into a coma after eating the very first Dark Apple, the people who ran the program shut her down and dissected her before deleting her, but came back as Mana's Heart Guard to find Mana, distributing Dark Apples to people who resemble her. When she ''does'' find her again, Mother can only process the fact that the "Mana" before her is "a fake" due to being so "young", going insane as a result. [[MercyKill She end up need to be taken down as a result]].
* TurnsRed: If both bits are destroyed at the same time, they stop fixing themselves, but Mother starts using a powerful self-buffing area-effect attack every round. She reaches OHKO threshold on the entire party after about 5-6 turns.

* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: A sibling variant. [[spoiler:He genuinely loves his sister Milsha, and after all the hell that Leviathan of the Crimson Vastsea put her through in "The 3000 Realm Ark and the Sea Abyss", he finally went against Leviathan by offering his Celestial Souls to Pip in the latter's own HeroicSacrifice.]]
* AGodAmI: He declares himself to one when confronted after he [[spoiler: absorbs the power of Leviathan.]]
* MinorCrimeRevealsMajorPlot: Aldo finds out about his plans to unleash Leviathan and steal it's powers only because he ordered the Sea Turtles to kidnap women. Because he wanted a harem.
* NotTooDeadToSaveTheDay: [[spoiler:At the climax of the 3000 Year Ark episode, Poseidon shows up to offer his Celestial Souls to Pip in the middle of his sacrifice to help destroy the Leviathan Heart as atonement for his misdeeds.]]
* PureIsNotGood: Part of the ritual to bond with the Otohime's trident involves bearing your heart in front of the citizens of the Dragon Palace. He passed this with flying colors using a "serve me or die" speech.
* {{Revenge}}: According to Nagi, his power hunger comes from wanting revenge against the western seas that banished him.
* SheIsTheKing: Otohime is a female title, but he uses it anyways because it was the title used by the previous ruler when he conquered the Dragon Palace.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Which is why Aldo and co. call him the "Half-Naked Guy" instead of Otohime.

----
* DegradedBoss: [[spoiler:When going through Levia's character quests, the player will get into a fight with the Leviathan again. However, it's level 30 this time, and a lot easier to beat than its level 90 form. Things get a little complicated when there are two Leviathans duking it out.]]
* EvilIsNotAToy: An ancient civilization gained control of it and used it to repel their enemies. While successful, the Leviathan also wrought havoc on the civilization themselves, prompting them to seal it away.
* HealingFactor: Has a passive regeneration that makes it difficult to beat through attrition.
* RoboticReveal: [[spoiler:[=LeA-BAK=] reveals that Leviathan was created by Synth Humans as a backup battleship, but was lost to the distant past in a malfunction.]]
* SealedEvilInACan: The very thing encased within Pandora's Box.
* YouCantThwartStageOne: It is inevitable that Otohime successfully unseals it. While he is promptly defeated while wielding its power, the Leviathan manages to escape, and remains at large after the Episode's conclusion.

----
* AndIMustScream: Her transformation makes her immortal, but because of her petrifying gaze all she can do is spend eternity locked up with only the statues of her loved ones as company. She's greatful to finally be put out of her misery after her boss fight.
* ForcedTransformation: She did not know she would be turned into a snake monster when she went to Reptires.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: She petrifies herself by looking at her own reflection to protect Setaka and everyone else from her medusa form.]]
* TakenForGranite: Her gaze can petrify anyone. Luckily, the player is given a badge which can protect against petrification right before her boss battle.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Reptires]]

----
* BigBad: The main villain of "The Celestial Tower and the Shadow Witch."
* ColorCodedWizardry: She was known as the Green Witch, back when she was a benevolent forest guardian. After becoming corrupted, she became known as the Dark Witch.
* CrusadingWidow: Betrayed King Palsifal by killing his entire family because her husband was caught in one of the king's wars and killed.
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler: Giving a name to a Nopaew had more severe consequences than she thought. When she did so, a darkness escaped the Nopaew and went into her, corrupting her into the Dark Witch.]]
* EvilCostumeSwitch: She changes outfits immediately upon becoming the Dark Witch.
* ForcedTransformation: She likes to inflict this curse on others. She's responsible for Cyrus being a frogman, and for another girl's transformation into Medusa.
* ForTheEvulz: She does evil things for the sake of evil itself.
* GreaterScopeVillain: The one responsible for the deaths of Palsifal's wife and son, and thus his DespairEventHorizon.
* JackassGenie: She cured Rildy's illness like she agreed she would, by transforming her monster.
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:"The Devilishness Revived and the Changed Sword" reveals that Reptires - or rather, the Shadow Witch - has not been completely defeated yet and she continues to come back to life, only defeated for good after Aldo and Cyrus successfully track the binder for her revival and destroy it.]]
* OmnicidalManiac: She wants to destroy the world.
* RevengeByProxy: She blamed Palsifal for the death of her husband, so she killed his family.

!!The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel
[[folder:[=LeA-BAK=]]]
A synth human built by [=KMS=] based off of Galliard's blueprints. He believes in a coexistence between the synths and the humans where he rules overs the humans. He first appears in Levia's character quests, before returning in "The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel" episode.
----
* CainAndAbel: He hates Galliard and being compared to him in any way.
* ChekhovsGunman: If you did Levia's character quests prior to Helena's episode, he made his first appearance there, attempting to kidnap Levia.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: He constantly boasts that he's a superior model compared to Galliard.
* IWasJustPassingThrough: Basically his excuse on giving the party hint on how to infiltrate the KMS Eastern Division building. In the Prison Ship Gulfagin, he also makes a roundabout excuse to scout ahead the area, which Aldo didn't miss.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Leo]]
Introduced in "The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel" episode. One of the youngest KMS executives ever, Leo is initially presented as Sebastia's annoying but well-meaning suitor. Of course, he has his own agenda...
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: He is seen as one by Sebastia. Make no mistake, Leo is a ''handsome'' and affable man, but his manipulative nature and the fact that he constantly seems to one-up Sebastia one way or another really grates on her nerves.
* AffablyEvil: He's quite friendly to the group, even if he also has no issue with backstabbing them.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: To Sebastia's annoyance, he is this to her as he constantly beats her in the chess game.
* BishieSparkle: Gets these in his introduction.
* TheCameo: He [[FreezeFrameBonus very briefly]] appears in the final chapter of "The Lost Tome and the Silver, Unending Flower", during the cutscene that highlights upper-class people attending the auction for The Shiny People tome.
* TheChessmaster: He prides himself in his ability to plan and manipulate, and he likes to make [[ChessMotif chess-based allegories]].
* {{Fanboy}}: Of Professor Chronos. Whereas Sebastia is disappointed that [[spoiler:the Madoka Report is just a chronicle of the Chronos family's daily life]], he's ecstatic to see his idol in a casual environment.
* KarmaHoudini: Lampshaded when he shows up in Riica's 5-star quest. He suffered virtually no repercussions for his actions in "The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel", because as he points out, none of what he did, strictly-speaking, was illegal (or if it was, it benefited KMS in some way so they didn't care).
* NoPlansNoPrototypeNoBackup: [[spoiler: Averted with the Deus Ex. He mass produced a hundred copies of it.]]
* PetTheDog: Towards the end of the "The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel", [[spoiler:he comes across Sebastia, stranded in the collapsing building. When she accuses him of being there just to laugh at her, he rescues her with no ulterior motive beyond the fact that he genuinely likes her]].
* SmallTownBoredom: Despite being part of the social elite, he still experiences this. [[spoiler: His main goal is to escape this world to the other alternate realities, hence the "closed-off world" part of the title.]]
* VillainousCrush: He genuinely fancies Sebastia.
* WillNotTellALie: He has a policy against lying, even though it isn't the most convenient trait for someone as secretive as himself.

[[folder:Cardinal Vestige]]
Introduced in "The Closed-Off Open World and the Azure Rebel", the Cardinal Vestige - also known as Old State government - is a group that controls various governmental organizations from behind the shadows in the Future timeline. As the side story reveals, plenty of major events surrounding the Future timeline can be traced back to them, the Synth Human War included.
----
* AboveGoodAndEvil: In some parts of "The Closed-Off Open World and the Azure Rebel", the Cardinal Vestige claims that their goal is to help mankind grow as mankind "is still in its early stages". However, they operate solely based on profit and cold logic, so everything is a fair game for them - including starting the Synth Human War in the first place.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Representatives of their leaders are only ever seen as vague holographic communications. In the alternate Midnight Time Layer, the theory was raised that the true Cardinal Vestige was actually a bodiless AI - which would be ironic if true. [[spoiler:The final chapter of "The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales" reveals that they are indeed humans -- or at least, they used to be, as their true forms are made up of [[BrainUploading brains]] of the original scientist who laid down the foundation of Cardinal Vestige and others who willingly gave up their mortal bodies to be part of the "Father Program".]]
* AncientConspiracy: While it is not known just how ''long'' exactly they have been around, they have been controlling the world of the Future timeline from the shadows, planting their agents such as [[spoiler:Biaka and Cetie]] to keep various government bodies in line.
* BrainInAJar: [[spoiler: Cardinal Vestige's true form is the preserved brain of its founder, Jarvis. He's not the only one either, there are others who gave up their brains to join his collective.]]
* CondescendingCompassion: When they're not operating on cold logic, their actions for the supposed betterment of humanity is this instead. [[spoiler:They believe that they know of what's best for humanity than the humans they're supposed to be watching, and this leads them to dismiss other characters' concern when they're understandably upset about the ogre degeneration plan to end the warring nature of humanity.]]
* GreaterScopeVillain: Plenty of the events in the Future timeline can be traced back to their involvement, such as the Synth Human War and [[spoiler:the creation of the Rebellion Circuit]].
* HeelFaceDoorSlam: [[spoiler:In the final chapter of "The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales", just when it looked like they were finally able to be brought into reason to stop their degeneration plan, the Dawn Curio appeared and killed them.]]
* KarmaHoudini: Naturally, being such organization hidden in the shadows, they suffer no repercussions over their involvement in various events of the Future timeline so far. [[spoiler:For example, the best Cetie can do in order for them to stop their false memory implantation on orphans is to convince them that the operation would have become their loss in the long run, but he is still unable to bring them to justice otherwise.]]
* MrExposition: Strangely, once you're in a conversation with them they're rather free with information provided it's related to a situation that you are already involved in.
* {{Technophobia}}: Their stated reason for being is to ensure that humanity's fate does not become controlled by machines - which is why they take it on themselves to watch Elzion's Administrators, who are chosen by a computer.
* WeAreEverywhere: They're shown to have agents in COA, KMS, and other organizations. Cardinal Vestige seems to deliberately cultivate the image of being formless and untouchable.
* VillainousDemotivator: Almost every time they play a role, they say or do something to piss off their agent [[EvilCannotComprehendGood apparantly without thinking about it]].
** Cetie's character quest: [[spoiler:The TwistEnding that Cetie himself is a Cardinal Vestige agent, [[RightHandVersusLeftHand like the villian he was pursuing]] turns their having him forced off the case and ostracised into this. The possibility that Cetie might hold this against them long-term doesn't seem to occur to them.]]
** Azure Rebel: [[spoiler: When they explain that they engineered the Synth-human rebellion, setting aside that the party includes [[YouKilledMyMother Amy]], [[RebelLeader Helena]], and [[ThisIsUnforgivable Galliard himself]], they dismiss as irrelevant that Biaka, the agent that called them up in the first place, is fighting in that war as part of her day job and was previously unaware of their responsibility for it.]]
** Cardinal Scales: The Cyan Scyther is miffed when she realizes that there was a [[spoiler:third strike force involved in the raid on the Midnight Sapient Complex, and her own role was just to make the player party assume ''she'' was the only other Twilight Time Layer operative present.]] Then when their big plan which [[spoiler:twenty-one alternate versions collaborated on]] is revealed [[spoiler:On the one hand, they gave Cetie and Biaka forewarning about it. On the other hand, they didn't realize that Cetie and Biaka would not be willing to accept the deliberate extinction of humanity by selectively breeding a new race of Titans (which would then peacefully go extinct themselves like the originals. Setting aside that isn't what happened '''at all''',) which leads to them openly going rogue.]] Cardinal Vestige ends the conversation saying they're sure the party will come to agree with them once they've had time to think the matter over.

[[folder:Commander Anabel]]
In a parallel Unigan, Anabel leads the First Squadrion of the Royal Order of Knights. Unlike the playable Anabel, she is much more aggressive with the extermination of beastfolk.
----
* TheChessmaster: She is fully aware of the enemies she is making in her ruthless campaign against the beastfolk, and anticipates various events several steps ahead. [[spoiler:When it looks like her campaign can finally be annulled with the alternate King Miglance and Altena signing the truce, she proceeds to release captive beastfolk in Rinde to let them to cause large-scale riot, thus giving her excuse to gain absolute authority and launch all-out attack towards the Beast King's Castle.]]
* DeadPersonImpersonation: [[spoiler: After her sister was killed in a beast raid, Deirdre took Anabel's name, swearing to become the paladin she was destined to be.]]
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:She gets absorbed into her own sword after losing the first time, and when she subconsciously refuses to reveal her wishes, it then transforms her into a giant, divine knight.]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: The red-eyed version of Anabel demonstrates to be more merciless against the beastfolk. [[spoiler:It's the earliest hint that it's she's not exactly Anabel.]]
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Sums up why she's so intent on genociding every last beastfolk. Her sister kicked it while protecting her when their village was raided.
* TomatoInTheMirror: [[spoiler:It is eventually revealed that the parallel "Anabel" isn't Anabel at all, as she had died in her timeline. The zealous Knight Commander is instead parallel Deirdre.]]
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: [[spoiler: Up until she realizes her fault and is sent back in time,]] She has absolute military power and has reduced the King to little more than a puppet. When the King signs a treaty to end the war, she intentionally releases captive beastfolk to start a riot, and give her excuse to attack the Beast King's Castle. Even before, people idolize her more than they do to the King, and all of Miglance's troops follow her over the King.
* WaveMotionGun: The full power of her Deliverance Sword manifests as a gigantic golden light. [[spoiler:It is enough to destroy ''the entirety'' of Beast King's Castle had not for Radias' interference.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She's aware of the ViciousCycle of hatred, and her answer to it is to completely exterminate the source of hatred -- this means genocide on the beastfolk. Anyone strong who doesn't join her cause gets eliminated before they can also join the beastfolk.
* WithUsOrAgainstUs: As noted above, there is no such thing as neutral side for her - if anyone is strong enough to fight off beastfolk yet they refuses to join her cause, they will be eliminated.
* WouldHurtAChild: Horrifyingly, she doesn't spare the beastfolk mother and child that had hidden during the attack on their village.

* EngineeredPublicConfession: [[spoiler:After he gloated about his plan to take over the organization, Hardy revealed that he had been recording his testament all the time, thus allowing him a pass to execute Gord. 443[[folder:Saint Nimros]]
Initially mentioned as passing names in the books collectible by the player, Nimros is depicted as a saint who built the ark to save humanity. In truth, he stole the power from Sophia after trapping her in her own book and rewrote its contents for his own ends.
----
* BigBad: He is the one responsible for trapping Sophia and Cynthia in the first place, as well as for corrupting the books Sophia wrote.
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:Using the book, he writes to make his flower bloom and the book become an ark, transforming him into godly savior called Saint Nimros.]]

!!Song of Sword and Wings of Lost Paradise
[[folder:Johann (unmarked spoilers)]]
The Tower Defender of Gewuerz Church, he guards a certain secret regarding the church's teachings that not even the Supreme Cardinal knows. As such, he is not well-liked despite his position.
----
* BeingEvilSucks: While "evil" is a stretch, he admits after his defeat that he doesn't take pride in everything he had done, even if it is a necessity because it is a duty passed down to him.
* TheComicallySerious: In "The Road to Mokepontas!", where Rosetta assigns him the task of training [[ButtMonkey Moke]], to amusing results.
* DeadpanSnarker: He doesn't hold back his sarcasm, to say the least, even after things settle down in the epilogue of the Mythos. Given [[TheFriendNobodyLikes his position]], though, it is understandable where he came from.
* GracefulLoser: It takes some beating, but eventually, Johann accepts his defeat and entrusted the duty to save the Zerberiya continent to the main characters, as well as willingly reveals the so-called secret his family was supposed to keep because by the time of his defeat, the main characters are the best chance to save the land.
* TheUnfought: He is never directly fought in the story.
* WeakButSkilled: According to himself. He points out that in direct combat, he pales in comparison to Melina and co. (aside from the power of the Stifling Chain), but he can best them simply because unlike them, he doesn't hesitate to go in for the kill.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Ultimately, Johann wants to save the people of Zerberiya land as much as the other clergy members. However, knowing the dark secret of the church's teachings, his method is more extreme, and that includes attempting to make Clarte a new vessel of the crystal spirit because that's the most viable solution he can think of while the church is racing with time.
* {{Workaholic}}: He's constantly working, albeit not entirely by choice as he complains about how his vacation requests get declined--implying that he has so much work that the church can't afford to let him take a break.

[[folder:"The Sea God" (unmarked spoilers for 1000 Year Ark of the Ocean Palace)]]
!!The Atlantican Leviathan
Believed to be a malevolent sea god who schemes to destroy Atlantica, a town inside an unnatural split in the sea, this leviathan seems more organic than the one which had been sealed in the Jeweled Casket and is clearly a seperate entity.

* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: According to Minchy, most sea life obeys it for this reason. Though there is also some brainwashing involved...
* EldritchAbomination: Its sheer size, (to the point that its body parasites are fought as bosses and can be the size of buildings) and brainwashing powers might qualify it as this [[spoiler:before Dragon Palace 2 has it doing much more to earn the title, displaying MindRape powers strong enough to turn survivors of its rampages into worshipful cultists, and an apparant alliance (in actuality secret mastery) of the Ephemeral Fiends/Abyss Creatures. In actuality, it is a biotechnological alien vessel with shapeshifting powers and an interior full of spacial distortions. Its heart has evolved sentience of its own, usurped its original brain, and taken over with the goal of draining all life from every world it can reach.]]
* LogicalWeakness: It is god of the ''sea'' and cannot leave the water. This is the only thing stopping it from destroying Atlantica personally. [[spoiler:Actually it can turn into a form with the power to leave. Perhaps it doesn't have the energy to spare for that.]]
* SealedEvilInACan: While this one isn't stuck inside a box like the other one, [[spoiler:they tried. It was too intelligent and powerful for the seal to work. Instead, it is trapped in a triangular barrier between Atlantica, the Dragon Palace, and the Siren Village.]]
* TheManBehindTheMan: It brainwashed and raised Posiedon to become the villianous 29th Otohime you fought earlier [[spoiler:to end the Otohime line and break the barrier on the Dragon Palace corner. It, or rather its heart, is actually the Mother and ruler of the Ephemeral Fiends/Abyss Creatures.]]
* TheRealRemingtonSteele: At first, it appears that this might be the real Leviathan that the Synth-Humans patterned the other one after. [[spoiler:Subverted. In fact, this one patterned its own form on the other one after seeing it. So it's ''still'' a StableTimeLoop]]
* VillainOfAnotherStory: This Leviathan is the antagonist to Atlantica and Milsha, and tangential to the overall plot of the Western Mythos. It remains an active threat afterwards however, and reappears in the second Ocean Palace episode.

[[folder:Emperor Schnaud (unmarked spoilers)]]
!!Teyul Schnaud
The last ruler of Schnaud Empire, of which the Lunar Ghost City the party visited is a part of. After the original Clarte turned into Uranus Menas eight years prior and annihilated all residents of the moon surface after he crossed the time layer to save young Melina, the Emperor managed to upload his thought pattern to the perfected Geo vessel and fell into eternal sleep - at least until the party awakened him when they stumbled across him. He becomes the final antagonist of the Western Mythos.
----
* TheCaligula: He is a tyrant with ''very'' strong distaste to the wingless beings, and if recordings of some citizens are any indication, even the Winged People wouldn't dare to cross him especially with his deteriorating sanity.
* DespairEventHorizon: He already became despondent since the death of his wife and original daughter, but finally hits a full VillainousBreakdown after he attempts to cross all time layers only to find out that [[InSpiteOfANail none of them has the possibility of his original Mercurylina surviving]], after which he turns into Teyul Menas when his Geo power goes out of control.
* DyingAsYourself and FaceDeathWithDignity: In a sense. When Melina finally bid him proper farewell after defeating him, Schnaud saw an overlap of his original daughter on her, restoring a semblance of humanity in the end. Feeling indebted for allowing to see his daughter for the last time, he gives up the Geo vessel he inhabits to restore Clarte as his way of paying back, allowing Clarte to reunite with Melina at last.
* EvilTwin: Since he currently inhabits the Geo vessel, he has the same appearance as Clarte, except he is less ragged and [[RedEyesTakeWarning has red eyes]].
* FantasticRacism: His particular distaste to the "Unwinged" is so strong even compared to the rest of the Winged People in his country. So much, that he has no qualms killing ''the very same daughter he adopted'' when he was forced to acknowledge that he had been deluding himself all along.
* FinalBoss: As Teyul Menas, he is this for Western Mythos.
* LovingAShadow: He was practically projecting the original Mercurylina to Melina, hence the SelectiveObliviousness below. When young Melina herself finally forced him to accept the truth that she is never a Winged Person to begin with, he was ''very'' quick to treat her like trash afterwards and even went so far to [[OffingTheOffspring kill her]] in the original time layer.
* NeckLift: How he killed Melina in the original time layer, complete with GoryDiscretionShot.
* OneWingedAngel: Transforms into Teyul Menas after his Geo power goes out of control.
* SelectiveObliviousness: As far as he was concerned, his adopted daughter Mercurylina had wings, and attempting to point it out was one sure way to induce his wrath. Needless to say, when young Melina herself finally pleaded him to stop, it all went downhill from there.
* UpgradeVsPrototypeFight: Since he inhabits the perfected underworld Geo vessel while Clarte is an underworld Alpha Geo vessel, his fight against Clarte becomes this.

!!The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales
[[folder:Dawn Curio]]
An internationally wanted criminal introduced in "The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales", he is the person that Isuka has been constantly searching for. He had been responsible for several unresolved incidents, some of which involved arson.
----
* ActuallyADoombot: The Curio that appears in Isuka's third character quest is actually an android with his thought patterns and voice uploaded, while he is somewhere else.
* AlternateSelf: To the playable Curio, who comes from Twilight time layer.
* BackForTheFinale: He [[PutOnABus disappeared from spotlight]] after Black Clad Swordsman's character quest and no longer play any importance to the story, only to return in the final chapter of the Mythos [[spoiler:as the FinalBoss of the story after killing the Cardinal Vestige's body.]]
* CainAndAbel: He is the "Cain" to Isuka, being [[spoiler:a fellow DesignerBaby who was created after Isuka and based on her]], thus making him her "brother" in a sense. Isuka makes it her life mission to stop him.
* CompellingVoice: He has this ability [[spoiler:due to being former test subject of the experiment to create the humans with strong leadership qualities]], being able to influence others regardless of reason with his victims are not necessarily aware of their actions.
* EarlyBirdCameo: He was introduced in Isuka's character quest using generic hooded NPC at first before making proper debut in the Mythos, after which he has his own unique sprite.
* EyesAlwaysShut and PerpetualSmiler: He always wears this pair of expression, befitting his dangerously mischievous nature.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Curiosité", [[spoiler:which plays during the battle against him as the FinalBoss of the story]].
* LoveMakesYouEvil: He believes that Isuka is chained by her morals and humanity, and actively plays CriminalMindGames with her in order to make her "spread her wings".
* MasterOfDisguise: He is able to disguise as various people to blend in and make his escape.
* ManBehindTheMan: Some important incidents involving arson can be traced back to him, and that also includes [[spoiler:the destruction of Lab 2 by Suzette, after he used his power on her following him overhearing the plans of Lab 1's scientists to use their successful test subject as agitator to start war.]]
* {{Narcissist}}: [[spoiler:The Black-Clad Swordsman accused him of this in her first character quest. Whereas her terrorism act in the Dawn Time Layer is partially driven by her sisterly love for the playable Curio, this Curio commits all of the atrocities he had enacted out of his love for Isuka... specifically, because he sees himself in Isuka and he loves himself. He neither confirms nor deny it, though.]]
* {{Pyromaniac}}: His apparent favorite MO is to mind-control others to commit arson. [[spoiler:This includes the hospital fire that took away Mayu's father and eventually drove her past DespairEventHorizon.]]
* SatanicArchetype: He has shades of this, being designed as individual whose purpose is to sow the seeds of discord. The most prominent characteristic is that he is able to charm people and get into their good graces -- often when they're at the lowest point of their life -- to do things on his bidding, and it's almost always in MoreThanMindControl variant. He also looks on humanity as beneath him, and actively tries to get his significant other half (Isuka) to "spread her wings".
* SmallTownBoredom: If Isuka's third character quest is anything to go by, this is what eventually drove him into the criminal he is now, as he feels no satisfaction from having no one to be his equal except his sister. [[spoiler:This is also why he offs the Cardinal Vestige's main body in the climax of the Mythos, as he finds the conclusion of its battle with the party to be not of his liking.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: His presence alone gives away a lot of things regarding Isuka's background, which the player normally wouldn't learn until her third character quest.
* WouldHurtAChild: Physically and mentally. [[spoiler:In the first chapter of "The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales", he hypnotized one of the children under Black-Clad Swordsman's influence ''to stab Leo'', which she only realized after she came by. Even though Leo survived, the playable Curio still expresses concern of how the incident will psychologically damage her.]]

[[folder:Midnight Time Layer Counterparts]]
In "The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales", it is established that the KMS and Cardinal Vestige commenced full-blown war against each other in the Twilight and Midnight Time Layers, eventually setting the path to their time layer's demise and motivating them to attack the Dawn Time Layer in order to save themselves. The party eventually form an alliance with the Twilight Time Layer (whose characters become playable), and thus pitting them against the Midnight Time Layer's agents.
----
* ArcVillain: All of them serve as FinalBoss of each chapter.
* DwindlingParty: [[spoiler:The Green Flamemancer is already dying from the overuse of his nanomachine powers and finally passed away content after using the last of his strength to kill the Midnight version of Professor Zekir. Violet Lancer performs HeelFaceTurn after Cyan Scyther and Suzette helps her to break free from her control module. The Gray Swordsman lets her control module - which is directly implanted in her brain - be taken away by the Gold Striker after Curio stops her and Isuka from killing each other, effectively making her brain-dead. Finally, the Gold Striker herself and the Midnight Professor Loah lets Sebastia and the Silver Striker take back the Elzion system and allow themselves to be erased, content that they are finally freed.]]
* PaletteSwap: Their models are exactly the same as the playable Parallel Time Layer counterparts with different paint, which is presumably justified due to their background. This briefly becomes plot point in Chapter 3 when Dewey mistook the Red Flamemancer as his assailant, when actually it is the Midnight version that is responsible.
* TragicVillain: Even though some of them are unrepetant mass-murderers, all of them are ultimately victims of the circumstances between the KMS and Cardinal Vestige as well, and they had no say in the matter as they were forced to become tools of war.

!!Wanderer in the Vortex
[[folder:White Phantoms]]
A mysterious group of Phantoms watching over the White Night Time Layer, they're responsible for various time loops occurring in several critical points of history in the time layer.
----
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: As expected of Phantoms. Not only they actively revel in suffering of the people trapped in the time layer, but as Chapter 5 shows, they're basically [[MadeOfEvil made of pure chaos]] [[spoiler:that despite Ivan's well intention to save Marie and her foster children, his essence ends up corrupting the children instead.]]
* SoProudOfYou: One of the White Phantoms admits, after Nona tricks them [[spoiler:into becoming the threads to mend the time layer]], that as displeased as they are with this, they're also oddly proud of her.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: The final chapter of "The Wanderer in the Binding Night" presents them as this on some level, as their wish to [[spoiler:destroy the time layer is born from the fact that they're by nature hollow beings who don't belong--that is, if they can't have a home, then neither can anyone else]]. In the end, Nona [[spoiler:turning them into the threads that ironically keep the time layer alive both infuriates them and brings them a measure of peace, as it means they can finally be a part of the world]].

[[folder:Yakumo]]
Having been treated badly in his whole life and stuck in a job where no one appreciates him, Yakumo eventually reached his breaking point and gave in to despair, instigating the time loop of Chapter 6 out of his fear of facing tomorrow. This puts him in opposition against Aldo and Nona who wish to save the people trapped, and yet despite this, they seek to save him too.\

!!Other Villains
[[folder:Jazelle]]
The BigBad of Guildna's 5-star upgrade quest. He originally duelled Guildna for the position of Beast King and lost. Now he aims to kill him using the Magic Armors scattered around Snake Bone Island.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Master of the Shadow]]
A mysterious being encountered in Guildna's Valor Chant upgrade quest, it manifests as the voice that haunts him throughout the quest.
----
* GreaterScopeVillain: The so-called master of the shadow has ability to control the Phantoms as shown in Guildna's VC upgrade quest. Just how much influence it has behind the Phantoms' actions and how well their goals align, though, remains unclear as of now.
* MouthOfSauron: Although it is fought as the Synchronized Phantom in Guildna's quest, it is noted that the Phantom acts more as a mouthpiece for the master of the shadow.

!!Tales of... Series
[[folder:Jeremis]]
The main antagonist of "Tails of Time and the Brave Four". A Beastman who became a cat, and travels throughout time and space to undo the Beast King's death, hoping to replace humanity's future with the beastmen.
----
* AllForNothing: [[spoiler:Even when he changes the future, it ends up being the same as the BadFuture Chronos and King Palsifal created.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Spirit of the Great Tree]]
The main antagonist of "Crown of Pale Dawn". A spirit of a mysterious tree that people worship for being able to take their pain away, her power ends up rendering them into EmptyShell.
----
* ObliviouslyEvil: She genuinely believes that she does the right thing by taking away people's ability to feel pain... which unfortunately, also includes taking away everything what makes someone human.
[[/folder]]

!!Complex Dream
[[folder:Lynx]]
A mysterious demi-human with the appearance of a panther and Kid's ArchEnemy, who is called into the world of ''Another Eden'' alongside Serge, Kid, and Harle.
----
* BigBad: Of the ''Complex Dream'' storyline. He is the reason why the timeline split in the first place, [[spoiler:by manipulating the Beast King to kill Aldo and Feinne, thus inevitably dooming the timeline into the darkness of time]].
* LateArrivalSpoiler: Serge's route makes no secret that [[spoiler:he was what once of Serge's father Wazuki]], although the full details were left out.
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:Transforms into FATE in the final battle of all routes]].
* TheStinger: [[spoiler:The very last lines of [[GoldenEnding Serge's route]] indicate that he is NotQuiteDead and is still around to some degree, and apparently has more under his sleeve for the future.]]
