-->'''Voiced by:''' Yuji Machi (series; stock grunts), Hiroshi Nagano (''The Final Odyssey'' and ''Film/SuperiorUltraman8Brothers''), You Murakami (''Series/UltramanGinga S'')
The last of a race of prehistoric giants that lived on Earth thirty million years ago, Tiga and his brethren were the protectors of an ancient civilization until its destruction at the hands of Gatanozoa, who sealed Tiga and his kind in stone until he was rediscovered by Daigo Madoka. As the first Ultra hero with a full series since Series/UltramanEighty, Ultraman Tiga's debut marked a new era for the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', set in a new universe. He quickly became one of the most popular Ultra heroes as a result, and has since made return appearances in other series, like ''Series/UltramanGinga'' and ''Series/UltramanX''.
----
* AnIcePerson: Tiga gains ice-related powers whenever he switches into Sky Type. His arsenal includss creating a cold explosion that freezes kaijus instantly, or releasing an icy mist from above his opponent and encases the kaiju in ice.
* BreakoutCharacter: Franchise wise, Tiga has become one to the Ultra Series.
* CriticalAnnoyance: Like most Ultramen, the Color Timer on Tiga's chest flashes red and beeps as he runs low on energy.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: All the Ultramen do this, but Tiga should get a special mention because the BigBad of his series is none other than ''Cthulhu's son''!
* EmptyShell: The statue inside the pyramid is this, as the real Tiga departed it long ago, leaving it open for Daigo to possess.
* FinishingMove: Each of his forms has a separate one -- Multi Type uses the Zepellion Ray, Power Type has the Delacium Light Stream, Sky Type possesses the Rainbalt Light Bullet.
* HeelFaceTurn: In ''The Final Odyssey'', [[spoiler:it is revealed Tiga used to be evil and worked alongside the Dark Giants as their most powerful member during a civil war between Ultramen that almost destroyed the 30-million-year-old civilization they protected. However, in his human form, he fell in love with Yuzare, who managed to turn him to the side of light and allowed him to seal his comrades away in stone.]]
* HighAltitudeBattle: Sky Type is meant to be this for any opponents with actual flying capability.
* LegacyCharacter: Uniquely, Tiga is this. Over the course of his own series, there have been at least four separate Tigas all in the same bloodline: the original Ultraman Tiga who was the actual Giant of Light, Amui (who is implied to be Daigo's ancestor), Daigo, and Daigo's son Tsubasa.
* LightIsGood: As a being of light.
** DarkIsNotEvil: In ''Ultraman: The Final Odyssey'', [[spoiler:he becomes Dark Tiga this when Camila convinces him Daigo become Tiga again. However, Daigo embraces both the goodness in his heart to control the evil within himself, preventing Tiga from succumbing to his old ways.]]
* LoveRedeems: [[spoiler:His feelings for Yuzare is what made him change sides from darkness to light.]]
* MeaningfulName: "Tiga" means "three" in Malay/Indonesian, referencing his three [[MultiformBalance different forms]].
* MultiformBalance: The first ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' hero with such an ability.
** JackOfAllStats: Multi Type (Omni Mode in the 4Kids dub), his default form.
** MightyGlacier: Power Type (called Power Mode by 4Kids). He turns red and silver.
** FragileSpeedster: Sky Type (renamed Speed Mode by 4Kids), in which he becomes indigo and silver.
** GoldenSuperMode: Glitter Tiga.
** SuperpoweredEvilSide: Tiga Dark, as in his original form as a villain. According to his former teammates, this form's full potential can be realized had Tiga return to the dark side.
* OurGiantsAreBigger: While "Giant of Light" is a term frequently given to the Ultras, Tiga is unique in that he is an ancient denizen of Earth rather than an alien being, thus fitting more closely to the classic fantasy giant more than his space counterparts.
* PurpleIsPowerful: One of the few Ultramen with purple as a major part of his colour scheme.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Averted. He's red and black yes, but Tiga Tornado is the result of stealing his former friend Darramb's strength while slowly returning to the light.
* SealedGoodInACan: Daigo discovered him as one.
* ShrinkRay: Tiga's Cell Change Beam, used in one episode to shrink King Molerat reducing the monster into a cuddly rabbit form.

[[folder:Ultraman Dyna]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_dyna.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Takeshi Tsuruno
The eponymous hero and successor of Series/UltramanTiga, Ultraman Dyna appeared and merged with Shin Asuka out of the blue when Darambia attacked the Mars TPC base seven years after Tiga defeated Gatanozoa. His connections to the rest of his kind are mysterious, but Dyna defends the Earth as fiercely as Tiga. After the events of his show, Dyna would travel to other universes, first reappearing in the original Showa continuity in ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends'' to assist the original Series/{{Ultraman}}, Series/UltraSeven, and Series/UltramanMebius in their fight to save the Land of Light. Afterwards, Dyna would reappear many more times in the franchise, continuing to wander through the multiverse and battle evil.
----
* ContrastingSequelProtagonist: In terms of fighting style between Dyna and Tiga, Dyna is a LongRangeFighter by firing his energy beam attack towards the enemy in a distance whereas Tiga is more towards to [[CloseRangeCombatant physical combat]] who excelled in energy manipulation.
** This also can reflected to their respective forms and abilities. Tiga is the JackOfAllStats for all of his Type form between the use of energy manipulation power and physical strength and his Type form can be changed any given time while Dyna is the GlassCannon which have more ranged beam-based attack in Flash and Miracle Type than Strong Type and his forms can only be changed once at a time.
* FinishingMove: Dyna has three finishers for each of his forms :
** Flash-Type: Solgent Ray : Dyna fired an electric blue ray and usually used as a finisher in a plus (+) sign.
** Miracle-Type: Revolium Wave Attack Type: Dyna compresses the space into the right hand, creates a super shock wave, releases it, emits a black hole behind the enemies, knock them into the gap of suction, kills and ruptures them there but in some instances, it has been blocked by enemies.
** Strong-Type: Garnate Bomber: Dyna unleashed a large burst of energy from his arm and will rip straight through an opponent’s body, often leaving perfect holes through whatever part is hit.
* MultiformBalance: Like Tiga before him.
** FragileSpeedster: Miracle-Type, which like Tiga's Sky-Type, is very fast.
** JackOfAllStats: His default form, Flash-Type.
** MagicallyIneptFighter: His Strong-Type is this, since it lacks energy abilities besides his barrier and the Garnate Bomber, instead focuses more on martial arts and strength.
** MightyGlacier: Strong-Type, which grants him strength on par with the strongest kaiju.
** SquishyWizard: His Miracle-Type carries elements of this, relying heavily on pseudo-magical, long-range abilities.
* TechnicianVersusPerformer: The performer to Tiga's technician. Dyna have more agility in his movement and preferred to engage in long-range combat with his wide variety of beam attack when in Miracle Type.
* UnrealisticBlackHole: The Revolium Wave, which opens a black hole and banish kaijus and aliens into a freezing, sub-zero dimension. [[spoiler: In the final episode, the black hole re-opens and reveals the numerous frozen bodies of different kaijus Dyna had banished throughout the series]].
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Played straight and invoked by Dyna's Strong Type, utilizing the pure physical power of said form to perform multiple wrestling-like moves towards the kaiju.
* PassingTheTorch: Get at the receiving one from [[spoiler:Daigo at the end of Final Odyssey.]]

[[folder:Ultraman Gaia]]
! Ultraman Gaia
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_gaia.png]]

The hero of the series, Ultraman Gaia is the third of the 90s wave of Ultraman heroes, but goes in a different direction from all others. Whereas most Ultra heroes are aliens, Gaia is the embodiment of the Earth itself, willed into existence to protect the planet from the Radical Destruction Bringer. He also has no time limit nor does he require sunlight, instead drawing his power from the Earth's energies. Ultraman Gaia has also gone on to make appearances in other series.
----
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Unlike every single Ultraman before him, Gaia is a literal embodiment of the Earth's will (especially the element of earth itself) to fight against the Radical Destruction Bringer and protect all of its inhabitants.
* BashBrothers: With Agul [[spoiler:after they settle their differences]].
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Courtesy of Agul's light, he can fashion a [[LaserBlade Agul Blade]].
* CriticalAnnoyance: Like all Ultramen, he has a Color Timer. However, he has no time limit and his Colour Timer only begins flashing if he has taken a lot of damage.
* FinishingMove: Gaia's signature ability is the Photon Edge, which is different from all other examples in the franchise in that he fires it from his forehead. He does also have the more standard "+"-shaped Quantum Stream.
* AnIcePerson: Downplayed. Although Gaia primarily uses heat-based attacks (due to his connection with the Earth), he can also perform Gaia Blizzard to freeze his target.
* KamehameHadoken: His Liquidator, courtesy of Agul's powers.
* LightningBruiser: Gaia Supreme, which combines both the lights of Gaia and Agul.
* MeaningfulName: After the Gaia Hypothesis, or the theory that Earth itself is a super-organism -- befitting of an Ultraman created from the Earth itself.
* MightyGlacier: Gaia V1's fighting abilities involves more on power and strength than speed itself, that is until he gained Agul's light.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Gains one as Gaia V2 in courtesy of Agul.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: After receiving Agul's light, not only Gaia upgraded into V2 and transforming into Supreme, he also obtained a few sets of Agul's powers.
* PlayingWithFire: Downplayed, in that Gaia utilizes heat as part of his connection with the Earth.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Agul's blue.

[[folder:Ultraman Agul]]
! Ultraman Agul
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_agul_5.png]]

The first AntiHero and blue-bodied Ultraman in the franchise, Ultraman Agul was also born from the will of Earth itself (representing the element of the sea). Like his human host, Hiroya Fujimiya, he believes that humans are as much a threat to Earth as the alien minions of the Radical Destruction Bringer are, so unlike Gaia, he pays no heed to human loss of life in his battles and plans on eventually dealing with mankind as well. Ultraman Agul has also made a few reappearances, albeit not as often as Gaia.
----
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Like Gaia, Agul is born of the Earth's will to defend itself from the alien invaders, but unlike Gaia, he only cares about protecting Earth and not its inhabitants.
* AntiHero: The first example in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries''.
* BashBrothers: With Gaia [[spoiler:after they settle their differences]].
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Is the very first Ultraman to do this in the history!
* CameBackStrong: [[spoiler:Returns as Agul V2, with his previous attacks turned into stronger versions of themselves]].
* FragileSpeedster: Is the fast, stealth and sleeker than the two Ultras.
* KamehameHadoken: His Liquidator functions in this fashion.
* LaserBlade: Agul Blade, and by extension Agul Saber for V2.
* MakingASplash: Agul draws his strength from Earth's waters.
* RedOniBlueOni: Obviously he's the blue to Gaia's red.
* TheRival: To Ultraman Gaia, much like their hosts.
* TheWorfEffect: [[spoiler:Surprisingly to his new form, Agul V2, whose supposed to be stronger than Agul V1 but always get his butt kicked by various monsters if he were to fight first before Gaia]]. This is averted when both Ultras cooperate.

[[folder:Ultraman Cosmos]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_cosmos.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Hisanori Koyatsu (''[[Film/UltramanCosmosTheFirstContact First Contact]]''), Yuki Sato (series), Creator/TetsuInada (''The Blue Planet'' and ''Ultraman Cosmos vs Ultraman Justice''), Taiyo Sugiura (''Film/UltramanSaga'' onwards)
The hero of the series, Ultraman Cosmos is a calm and gentle alien of unknown origin who seeks to protect Earth. He befriended Musashi on his first visit to Earth, and would later merge with the human to battle Chaos Header. Unlike most Ultramen, Cosmos is a pacifist and prefers to calm rampaging kaiju instead of killing them. Ultraman Cosmos has since made appearances in a number of other installments, beginning with the 2012 movie ''Film/UltramanSaga''.
----
* BadassPacifist: Whereas other Ultramen are warriors who usually kill the monsters and aliens they battle, Cosmos prefers not to use violence and instead usually attempts to purify or pacify his opponents.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Cosmos is a pacifist who wants everyone to get along and rarely harbors hatred even towards his enemies, but anger him or hurt those that he cares for with malevolent intent and he will ''destroy'' you.
* BlueIsHeroic: His main color is a light blue and he is a pure-hearted and kind individual who seeks harmony and the coexistance of living beings.
* BlueOniRedOni: The Blue to Justice's Red. While Justice is a more violent Ultra who focuses on destroying opponents with impunity, Cosmos is for the most part a pacifist whose default form is built to non-lethally subdue his enemies.
* CosmicMotifs: Aside from his name being Cosmos (space), his forms are all based on celestial bodies. Luna and Corona are based on moon and sun, while eclipse is ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin. Also it's mentioned in the 2018 ''Ultraman Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia'' Novel that he draws his powers from the Sun and the Moon.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Cosmos has dedicated his life to all creatures that seek to live peacefully with others. His only exceptions to this were Alien Nowar, Alien Waroga, Sandros, [[Film/UltramanSaga Alien Bat]], [[Film/UltramanGingaSTheMovieShowdownThe10UltraBrothers Etelgar]] and formerly Chaos Header (before Musashi helped him find a way to redeem it).
* GentleGiant: Even by Ultraman standards, Cosmos is gentle and kind, only killing his enemies if no peaceful solutions can be achieved. In fact, he has the lowest kill ratio of all Ultras, with only a few genuinely evil/unredeemable enemies being killed.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: It's alluded to through AllThereInTheManual and eventually confirmed in ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightTheAbsoluteConspiracy'' that Cosmos is actually the result of Ultraman Legend splitting in two to become him and Justice.
* MartialPacifist: Cosmos often uses defensive maneuvers when battling, as he tries to avoid provoking fights and battles only to subdue his enemies without hurting them.
* MultiformBalance: Cosmos has several forms he switches between depending on the situation:
** [[SquishyWizard Luna Mode]], his default blue form, uses a variety of healing, purification, and calming powers in order to pacify berserk monsters. It is powered by Cosmos' own kindness.
** [[JackOfAllStats Corona Mode]], where he gains lots of red in overlap with his blue patterns. This form is powered by Cosmos' strength, and is mainly used if killing is the only way to end the conflict.
** [[HourOfPower Eclipse Mode]], which he gains in Episode 30. It combines the powers of Luna and Corona Mode through Musashi's own courage. However, it can only be used for one minute.
** [[FragileSpeedster Space Corona Mode]], a purple form with greater speed and mental/energy abilities than Luna Mode, but as its name suggests is mainly used for combat in space.
** [[SuperMode Future Mode]], gained in ''Ultraman Cosmos vs. Ultraman Justice: The Final Battle''. It represents hope, which combines the kindness, strength and courage of the other forms. Powered by future energy, it is Cosmos' strongest form and also has the ability to fuse with Ultraman Justice to form Ultraman Legend.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness:
** Earlier in his own series, when the baby Arados dies saving him from Ragstone Mechalator, who was sent to kill Cosmos so Nowar could kidnap the baby Arados, Cosmos wordlessly destroys Nowar's spaceship with him on it for it.
** In general, if he goes all-out and foregoes his usual MartialPacifist fighting style, you know he's been absolutely pissed off and will lay a smackdown on, if not outright destroy, those who dared to provoke him far.
* PapaWolf: An ultra/host version to Musashi. He is very protective of the boy and tries his best to ensure his safety even if it means seperating himself from him. In one example, when Chaos Darkness nearly kills Musashi in the finale, Cosmos went ''berserk'' on the monster.
* TechnicalPacifist: Cosmos uses Luna Mode to subdue and pacify the kaiju when he can. Clones, robots, and kaiju that are not [[NonMaliciousMonster Non-Malicious Monsters]] are generally okay to destroy with Corona Mode.
* TookALevelInKindness: Cosmos wasn't the out-and-out pacifist he is nowadays at first, while he did favored non-violent solutions, he was much more willing to fall back on violent answers. His time with Musashi made his tolerance of threats and willingness to destroy foes much less pronounced. In the series finale he even tells Musashi that he doesn't have/had as much of a heart as Musashi did.
* SoProudOfYou: His goodbye to Musashi in his series. Cosmos is impress that Musashi has more heart and kindness than even Cosmos himself, to the point where he manages to turn ''Chaos Darkness'' into his good angelic form, something that Cosmos himself never thought about. He then ensures Musashi that earth will be safe in Musashi's hands before taking off.
* TrueCompanions: Cosmos and Mushashi is a rare ultra and host example. Cosmos deeply cares for his human host and will do all he can to not only save the day but also ensure Musashi's safety. In fact, the first two times he seperated himself from Musashi is not because of him no longer want to be one with him, but because of fear of the man's life. He also acts as a mentor to Musashi giving him guidance needed to do whay is right.
** It is worth mentioning that by the time Ultraman Orb kicks in, he ''still'' chose to be bonded with Musashi rather than go independent.

[[caption-width-right:350:Click [[labelnote:here]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/julie_9.png[[/labelnote]] to see Julie]]

-->'''Portrayed by:''' Osamu Ryutani (voice of Ultraman Justice), Kazue Fukiishi (as Julie)
A second Ultraman known mainly in Gyashi legend as their guardian, having helped many Gyashi flee the planet when Sandros invaded. Justice first appeared in ''Film/UltramanCosmos2TheBluePlanet'', where they appeared helping Cosmos against the malevolent Sandros. After Sandros' defeat, they left Earth in good terms with Cosmos, but came to clash with their fellow Ultra in the following movie, ''Film/UltramanCosmosVsUltramanJusticeTheFinalBattle'', where under orders of the Universal Will, Delacion who had come to predict that humanity would become a threat to the known universe in the future, Justice leads an all-out attack against Earth killing Cosmos when hte latter interferes, meant to end in the planet's destruction and subsequent rebuilding with new lifeforms that Delacion would deem suitable to come next. Taking on a female human form known as Julie, Justice observed that the Gloker units of Delacion did their job, but after a HeelRealization they turned against their superior and took to defending Earth, eventually teaming back up with Cosmos and stopping the ultimate weapon of Delacion, Giga Endra. Once Justice had talked down Delacion, they continued serving the Universal Will albeit with far more restraint and benevolence this time.
----
* AboveGoodAndEvil: An extremely rare Ultraman example. Ultraman Justice is better described as a protector of order rather than of a warrior for goodness, willing to battle and kill both villains like Sandros, heroes like Cosmos and neutral parties like all of humanity and Earth's lifeforms if the Delacion perceives them to be a threat to peace of a universal scale, either in the present or future. However, they do eventually learn the importance of protecting life after witnessing the selflessness of humanity's best side and the suffering of innocents turning away from that mentality by helping Cosmos defeat the Glokers and eventually talking Delacion out of its plans to destroy Earth.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: His human form, Julie, who acts outwardly cold and detatched while having long flowing black hair complimenting her dark leathery clothing.
* AmbiguousGender: Despite past magazine and the voice actress Megumi Han acknowledge Justice to be non-binary (choosing a female human form to balance out that the concept of "justice" does not swing to either gender), the Twitter Site of Tsuburaya Global (Creator/TsuburayaProductions English Site) addresses Justice as "him". In their debut film, their grunts and voice in Ultraman are male-sounding, but in ''The Absolute Conspiracy'' they instead have a female voice.
* AntiHero: In contrast to the more messianic Cosmos and most obviously shown in the third movie.
* BashBrothers: With Ultraman Cosmos. Helps that both of Justice's modes have at least one combination attack with Cosmos. They might actually be ''literal'' 'brothers' in a sense, as they're confirmed to be two halves of Ultraman Legend.
* BreakOutTheMuseumPiece: Although Justice's main form Standard is usually featured in many promotional shots, Crusher Mode had not ever been shown again, ''The Absolute Conspiracy'' features its long-due return along with Justice themself.
* TheBusCameBack: While Cosmos made multiple reappearances after ''The Last Battle'' and Justice often appeared in stage shows, they were absent from any mainline instalments up until 2021's ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightTheAbsoluteConspiracy'', 18 years after their last appearance in the movie.
* CallBack: Their female voice in ''Absolute Conspiracy'' references the fact that their human form, Julie, is female. As well as how they don't view themself as either male or female.
* CavalryBetrayal: They appear at the start of ''The Final Battle'' seemingly arriving to Earth in order to help Cosmos against the Gloker Pawns he's fighting, but turns out they're there to help the Glokers defeat Cosmos and destroy Earth as well.
* CharacterDevelopment: Justice started out as an idealist who was merciful even to those they were told to exterminate by the Delacion. Unfortunately, that the being that they spared became the monstrous Sandros shattered their idealism and left them jaded enough to forego mercy and kindness altogether in the name of universal order. In ''The Final Battle'', due to Delacion predicting that mankind would become a threat like Sandros, they spend most of the film coldly allowing and helping the Glokers destroy humanity and make sure Earth's inhabitants are wiped out by the Giga Endra at least until they witness first-hand the suffering of the innocents and selflessness of humanity's best side proving the Delacion's judgment wrong at which that point they recover their idealism and make sure to take Cosmos' place as Earth's defender by destroying the Glokers even when their life was in danger, and by the end rather than fight the Delacion with Cosmos as Legend, it's Justice who talks the Universal Will out of destroying Earth peacefully, while demonstrating that they've learned that not all humans are bad and that they're capable of good as much as they can do evil.
* ComfortFood: Seems to enjoy eating the sweets that they received from a human girl.
* TheDragon: They're initially this to Delacion, acting as their enforcer of justice and judgment and ensuring that the Gloker troops decimate their targets or personally takes care of threats, and in ''The Final Battle'' they make sure that the Glokers destroy Earth, at least until they pull a HeelFaceTurn.
* EasilyForgiven: They help the Gloker Rooks kill Cosmos at the start of ''The Final Battle'' when it seemed like they had come to save him, but after his HeelFaceTurn and Cosmos' resurrection the first thing the Blue Giant did was replenishing Justice's energy to help him against the Gloker Bishop. Even the red Ultra [[LampshadeHanging was astonished at his forgiveness]] of their crimes.
* {{Expy}}: To [[Series/UltramanGaia Ultraman Agul]]'s human host, whose racism towards humanity stems from the influence of a great cosmic entity (though Delacion is merely misguided, while the Radical Destruction Bringer is legitimately evil and prejudiced). Yet the two eventually joined the titular Ultraman after a HeelRealization.
* {{Foil}}: Initially. Whereas Ultraman Cosmos is a FriendToAllLivingThings who values life above all else, Justice is more likely to kill his enemies, and also care not for life -- they destroy anyone who disrupts cosmic peace or that Delacion believes will become a threat to said order in the future regardless of whether they are good or evil at the time, at least until Justice gets to witness first hand how horrible it is to doom an entire planet for the sake of an unsure prophecy. Also in contrast to Cosmos bonding with a human like most Ultras, Justice takes instead on traits of Ultraseven, taking a human form to walk around on Earth.
* GenderBender: The only male-appearing Ultra to have a female human identity that isn't a SymbioticPossession as a result of them not identifying as male or female. This is because they view justice as above gender, so they don't consider what gender they appear as to be important. Furthermore in ''Absolute Conspiracy'' they retain a male body, but have a very notable soft female voice.
* HealingHands: Like Cosmos, they can heal others with their light. Though they only display this skill in the movies to power up the defeated Gloker Pawns, they get to use this ability with Cosmos in the videogame ''Fighting Revolution 3''.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: In ''The Blue Planet'' they're a firm ally of Cosmos and help the blue Ultra defeat Sandros without a fight or conflict between the two, and leaves in peace once Sandros is killed. In ''The Final Battle'' they become an antagonist under orders from Delacion and oppose Cosmos, but they end up regretting their actions after seeing humanity and kaiju banding together and a little girl selflessly trying to save her dog from the chaos and end up turning back to full good afterwards.
* HeelRealization: For most of ''The Final Battle'' they are initially utterly unmoved by seeing Earth's inhabitants desperate attempts to save their planet from the Glokers. But when they get to see how even human and kaiju can band together to fight off the invasion and seeing a little girl trying to rescue her pet dog from a pile rubble, they begin to realize how wrong their ideas of justice are and how many innocent lives the Delacion's destruction will claim, which prompts them to turn against the Universal Will and eventually help Cosmos destroy Giga Endra.
* HeroicSacrifice: Alongside Cosmos, they decide to engage Giga Endra and try to block its planet-killing beam which ends up desintegrating them... But also allows them to fuse with Cosmos into the duo's true form, [[PhysicalGod Ultraman Legend]].
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Under Delacion's orders they've fought multiple threats to the Universe in the meantime of Cosmos dealing with Chaos Header and other monsters, they only entered the main story when the evil from their past, Sandros, started to threaten Earth.
* InASingleBound: Julie can do this quite easily during a fight against several thugs as a result of her Ultraman abilities.
* InformedAbility: His Standard Mode has many powers told in supplementary material that Justice never uses in any of their appearances.
** BarrierWarrior: Justice Protect, a barrier made by Justice.
** BladeBelowTheShoulder: Justice Cutter, a blade of light form their hands meant to slice opponents appart.
** MindOverMatter: Justice Move, which allows them to levitate objects and opponents and Justice Kinesis, a stronger version of Move.
* ItsAllMyFault: They spared Sandros 2,000 years back when he was a harmless creature despite Delacion's orders to exterminate the creature, only for the monster to become a genocidal maniac bent on destroying all life out of a belief in the [[TheSocialDarwinist superiority of the strong over the weak]] that destroyed countless planets in his rampages and have blamed themselves for it ever since. In ''The Final Battle'' they're initially driven to help destroy humanity out of fear of history repeating, but seeing first-hand how different humanity is from Sandros and how unfair it is to doom them makes them change their mind and move on from their past.
* KickChick: Subverted that it was his female human form, but nonetheless managed to do so by moping the floor against several thugs at night.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: It's alluded to initially and eventually confirmed in ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightTheAbsoluteConspiracy'' that Justice is actually the result of Ultraman Legend splitting in two to become them and Cosmos.
* MouthOfSauron: Initially they served as the Delacion's voice with lesser lifeforms, communicating the Universal Will's plans and reasoning for trying to destroy Earth to humanity. After their HeelRealization, they continue in this role but now in a more benevolent manner.
* MultiformBalance: Like Cosmos, although he has less forms with only two including his base one (discounting [[FusionDance Ultraman Legend]]).
** MightyGlacier: Standard Mode, which is their default form and is a foil to the FragileSpeedster Luna Mode of Cosmos, even having a bright red dominant color as a further contrast point.
** LightningBruiser: Crusher Mode -- their equivalent to Corona Mode, which they achieve in the climax of ''The Final Battle'' when they fight the Gloker Bishop. Also serves as their SuperMode
* MysteriousWaif: As Julie. She acts as the mysterious messenger and voice of the Delacion, enigmatically appearing to judge humans and inform them of their upcoming doom. However, she begins to lose this as she sees the rammifications of her actions and the true kindness of humans.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: Thousands of years ago when they were ordered by Delacion to kill Sandros when the latter wasn't dangerous, Justice decided to spare the alien's life, and said alien never returned the favor and instead used the incident as means of becoming a universal threat bent on killing all life.
* RedemptionPromotion: Their understanding of true justice and determination to stop Delacion's forces allows them to gain Crusher Mode, a stronger form that allows them to defeat the Gloker Rook and fight the Gloker Bishop much better, eventually destroying it with help from Ultraman Cosmo's Future Mode. It also leads to the two eventually merging to reform Ultraman Legend and destroy Giga Endra.
* RedIsViolent: They're clad in a dark red color and are much more violence-oriented than Cosmos, to the point that all of their attacks are oriented towards destruction. However, they lose the violent personality after CharacterDevelopment in ''The Last Battle''.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red to Cosmo's Blue, Cosmos is mostly pacifist (in part thanks to Musashi's influence) and prefers to pacify opponents if possible. Justice initially is aggressive in their fighting and destroys all their opponents with cold impunity at least before their character development.
* SuddenSequelHeelSyndrome: Ultimately {{subverted}}. It seems in ''The Final Battle'' that they've turned evil and are helping to destroy Earth. But as Julie they come down to explain their reasonings for helping Earth's destruction, showing that it's more of a misguided attempt at enforcing justice than legitimate evil. To boot, they have a HeelRealization much later in the film and go back to being fully good.
* {{Telepathy}}: Julie's EstablishingCharacterMoment has her communicating with Musashi this way, using her powers to state her intent to the Ultra host. Later on she communicates with other characters from afar this way.
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: Ends up pressed with this in ''The Final Battle'', seeing humans fight back against the Glokers and banding together with even Kaiju starts putting dents on their heavily lawful leanings aligned with Delacion, after enough reflection and sights of humanity's selflessness, they ultimately choose to be good.
* TookALevelInKindness: As noted above, Justice began as an AntiHero interested only in protecting the cosmic order and initially was an ally because Cosmos and mankind were a lesser priority compared to Sandros. In their return in ''The Final Battle'', they willingly assist the Delacion in a planetary genocide by orders of the Cosmic Judge due to believing humanity will become a threat to order in the future despite their harmlessness in the modern day, which was the case with Sandros. But their interactions with Cosmos and humanity led them to realize the importance of protecting life besides order and they turn against their superior to protect Earth, and even get to convince Delacion to leave Earth alone and see that it was wrong about humans.
* TheWorfEffect: They find themselves easily beaten by the Gloker Bishop in their Crusher Form, right after they had taken down the Gloker Rook made up of various Gloker Pawns.

[[spoiler:His true form, Ultraman Noa]]]]

A being of light from space, while on Earth he lends his powers to the Deunamists to face the Space Beasts. He is the same Ultraman from ''Film/UltramanTheNext'', and unique in that he hops from host to host multiple times throughout his series. He came to Earth while chasing the One (as Ultraman the Next), and stays here in the hope of finding the one behind the Space Beast attacks. He has since made several appearances in much more kid-friendly ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' material alongside other Ultra heroes.
----
* AdaptiveAbility: As noticed by Illustrator in episode 5, Ultraman Nexus' ability is to adapt his body to his surroundings and grow stronger from each battle. In fact, after his battle as The Next, Ultraman Nexus is the former's ''adapted form'' to better suit with the Earth atmosphere. His multiform balance also embodied the trope, as he started as Anphans but later on becomes Junis and the Junis Blue is a variation of the former. Coupled with his constant bond with different Deunamist over the series' run, [[spoiler:he eventually regained his long lost form, Noa]].
* BroughtDownToBadass: Ultraman the Next is actually a weaker form of Nexus, who is in turn [[spoiler:a weaker form of Noa, due to him losing most of his power when trying to stop the One from reaching Earth.]]
* TheChooserOfTheOne: Due to the fact that Nexus changes between human hosts, allowing him to decide which human is most worthy of holding the Evolthruster.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Made explicitly to be everything Series/UltramanCosmos was not.
* FinishingMove: Unique in that which one he uses depends on which host he has.
** In every form, his Anphans form uses the Cross-Ray Storm, your classic "+"-styled HandBlast used by most Ultras.
** His Junis form uses the Over-Ray Storm, which is an "L"-shaped version of the Cross-Ray Storm, similar to some Ultras.
** Junis Blue has the Arrow-Ray Storm, which allows him to create a giant bow of energy with his right arm that fires a cutting blade of light.
* GodzillaThreshold: Nexus' true power is Core Final, which has his Energy Core on the chest releasing a burst of energy. This is only used during emergency occasions and so far, each Dunamists used it once with varying effect:
** Himeya used it to partially revive Nexus from the dead.
** Komon used it in a director's cut of episode 31 to escape Banpira's strong webbing, releasing a stream of energy ray from his chest.
** [[spoiler:Komon used it in final episode to shuffle every available forms of Nexus up to that point before regaining his lost form, Ultraman Noa]].
* HandBlast: Asides from his Finishing Moves, Nexus can toss out small bolts of light called Particle Feathers.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: As narrated by Sera in episode 24, Nexus fights by choosing his Deunamists, whose desire to protect others becomes the source of his power. The official website proclaims that Nexus operates in the concept of bonds, but the constant meddling of TLT in filtering the information of Ultraman and Space Beast in the public severely drains him from his strength.
* MeaningfulName: Anphans is a mutation of "enfance", the French word for "childhood", while Junis is from "jeunesse", or "youth". [[spoiler:And Ultraman Noa is named after the Noah of the Bible.]]
* MultiformBalance: Like many Heisei Ultras, Nexus is able to shift modes, but unlike most, his alternative forms are based on his current human host.
** JackOfAllStats: Anphans, the default form of Nexus, which is gray.
** LightningBruiser: Junis, the form used by Jun Himeya. It's the traditional red color of almost all Ultramen.
** FragileSpeedster: Junis Blue, the form used by Ren Senjyu. It's blue, like Cosmos.
** SuperMode: [[spoiler:Ultraman Noa, his true form. The most powerful Ultra in the franchise, behind [[Series/UltramanLeo Ultraman King]].]] The only reason why the series even began in the first place is because Nexus lost that form when battling the One.
* MysteriousPast: He's something of a legend, even amongst other Ultramen, as he was an Ultraman before the other Ultras even existed. Rumor has it he was birthed from a supernova.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Due to the fact that Nexus was at first meant to be a complete reimagining of the original Series/{{Ultraman}}, his design drastically differs from any Ultra before or after.
* PhysicalGod: [[spoiler:His true form Ultraman Noa is one of only two Ultras to be classified a god, the other being Ultraman King.]]
* PhantomZone: The Meta Field, a subspace created by Nexus to fight the Space Beasts without risk of civilian casualties or of being discovered. It puts considerable stress on the user's body after three minutes of continuous use.
* TimeAbyss: The ''oldest'' Ultra in existence at over 350 thousand years old.
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler:Alongside Nagi, Nexus silently becomes this to Ishibori in order to revive Dark Zagi to glory. His bonding with Deunamist and constant battles with Space Beast/Dark Giants was to empower him before Nagi becomes his latest host and for Ishibori to harvest Nexus' powers]].

--->'''Faust''': [[spoiler:Riko]]? That name has already been erased.

*** ArmCannon: The {{BFG}} on its left arm.
*** FinishingMove: The Eleking Electric Shockwave, which is a huge beam of lightning fired from its ArmCannon.
*** ShockAndAwe: Since it's based on Eleking. According to X, Eleking Armor allows him to control electricity, but in the series, he only uses it to create a rope of electrical energy based on Eleking's PrehensileTail.
** [[Series/ReturnOfUltraman Bemstar]] Armor:
*** AttackReflector: Like the monster it;s based on, the Bemstar Armor can eat up energy attacks, but unlike Bemstar, it can shoot them back out at enemies.
*** BattleBoomerang: The shield also acts as a boomerang.
*** LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Equipped with a shield that resembles the monster's BellyMouth. It also acts as a claw in melee combat.
** [[Series/{{Ultraman}} Zetton]] Armor:
*** ArmCannon: Is equipped with two of these on each arm.
*** BarrierWarrior: The arm cannons can also produce Zetton's infamous force field, the Zetton Shutter.
*** BrainwashedAndCrazy: Its first use was a trap set up by Alien Sran Quila to corrupt X into his puppet and fight against Ultraman Max. Daichi's quick thinking allows him to use Eleking's card and fry the program that corrupted X to bring him back.
*** PlayingWithFire: Taken from Zetton's ability to shoot fireballs, the Zetton Armor can shoot a powerful fireball to burn monsters into crisp.
*** SpinAttack: A modification of the Zetton Shutter, Ultraman X creates a force field around himself before spinning rapidly like a tornado and slamming himself into the enemy like a gigantic crystal shard.
*** SuperStrength: Even by Ultra Standards, because it uses Zetton's strength stacked on top of Ultraman X's. Even the Alien Sran complimented this form as the ultimate combination.
*** TeleportSpam: Inherited from Zetton, though X does it by temporarily digitizing himself to move about.
** [[spoiler:Hybrid Armor:]]
*** AllYourPowersCombined: [[spoiler:Has the powers of all 4 [=MonsArmors=], as well as the Xlugger.]]
*** SuperMode: [[spoiler:So super that he only unlocks the power when battling Greeza.]]
** Xlugger:
*** SuperMode: But of course.
*** CoolSword: The Xlugger, which serves as a tribute to the [[Series/UltraSeven Eye Slugger]].
*** MesACrowd: Can split into four different colored clones.
* FusionDance:
** [[spoiler:With all the Spark Dolls in the finale in order to gain his Hybrid Armor form.]]
** [[spoiler:While the Beta Spark is just another, albeit very strong armor, Ultraman and Ultraman Tiga fuse with him to give him the added boost to put Zaigorg down for good.]]
* LetXBeTheUnknown: Daichi originally gives X that name because of how little Xio knows about him.
* MotorMouth: Downplayed. X isn't a chatterbox in-series, but he and Daichi are unusual in that they actually have a bond that grows throughout the series. Usually the Ultraman doesn't get this level of dialogue or development, but X stands out.
* MyGreatestFailure: X thought that when he threw Greeza into the sun, he ended its reign of terror. However, Greeza's death unleashed uncontrollable energy which then reacted with the sun and initiated the Ultra Flare. This leads to an awakening and subsequent rampage of slumbering spark dolls.
* SealedGoodInACan: Or sealed good in cyberspace.
