!!The Hojohsin League

!!The Hojohsin League
The Hojohsin League is the brainchild of a terrorist known as John Ford, a coalition
----
* BadassFamily: They view themselves as such, at least.
* ShoutOut: Ford's apprentices are designated as "The Nth Child," in the order that they were recruited, in a direct reference to Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion.
* ThemeNaming: All of their code names are derived from those of United States Presidents.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Claimed as such by all five of the original Hojohsin members--Ford, Pierce, Hayes, Adams, and [=McKinley=].

!!Lane Garnet/John Ford/The Shadowed Man
A mysterious man, Ford is a terrorist with seemingly omniscient knowledge of events around the various regions.
----
* TheAdjectivalMan
* AffablyEvil
* AFatherToHisMen
* BigBad: Of the Hojohsin/Nine Children Arc.
* TheChessmaster
* CodeName: John Ford.
* AFatherToHisMen: Genuinely cares about his Agents, despite regularly sending them on dangerous missions.
* HiddenAgendaVillain: No one really knows what he's planning or even where he is at a given point in time. All that's known is that he claims he's doing what's best for everyone while simultaneously sending his Agents to murder countless groups of people.
* HollywoodHacking: He's capable of doing a lot even with just an internet connection.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast
* PutOnABus: Disappeared for some time with Mewtwo, leaving Pierce to run their operations.
** TheBusCameBack: Returned after Havoc, with his first action being to send a Darkrai after Sleight and Joker's families.
* RedBaron: "The Shadowed Man."
* StoryBreakerPower: Presented this way toward the beginning of the story along with many of the other important [=NPCs=], like Joker and Sleight. While this was primarily justified given that the vast majority of characters were just starting out, Ford is notable for pulling this against Goldhawk and Blackskull themselves. This was later explained by TheReveal of his Darkrai's origins, though he is still regarded as an incredibly powerful trainer.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Claims that he is only trying to end the Rocket-Liberty war, though his actions say otherwise.

!!Paris Ebner/James Pierce
The First Child. A polite, yet powerful follower of Ford, Pierce was elected to the position of Hoenn's president following the toppling of Team Rocket's presence there.
----
* AffablyEvil
* BewareTheNiceOnes
* CodeName: James Pierce, The First Child.
* CorruptPolitician
* CurbStompBattle: Pierce delivers one to James Arthur when the latter infiltrates the former's Presidential Office.
* TheDragon: To Ford.
* KilledOffForReal: Absorbed by Missing No.
%%zce* OurPresidentsAreDifferent
* PetTheDog: Immediately after hypnotizing the remaining Energon Executives, he takes a moment to help calm TroubledChild Calvin Truman.
* PragmaticVillainy: His reasoning for not killing the remaining Energon Executives. He considers their suspicions toward the Hojohsin League a reflection of what the organization as a whole feels, and thus needs them to personally quell or weed out any other Energon Agents who might question the circumstances of Michael Travis's death. Calvin Truman's presence at the time may have also played a part in it.
* PresidentEvil
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His natural eye color.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Ford.

!!Sophia Baron/Madison Hayes
The Second Child. Hayes is a cold and calculating individual, and a field operative of Ford.
----
%%zce* AloofBigSister: To Sonja.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Sonja has a tendency to ask these. The biggest one came during their battle in Fortree, when Sonja asked why Hayes had never come to speak to her until Castelia, despite knowing that Sonja had been looking for her following their parents' deaths.
%%* BadassLongcoat
* TheBadGuyWins: She succeeded in damaging much of Castelia.
* BrainyBrunette: As a result of (or the reason she has) her psychic powers.
* CurbStompBattle: Delivers one to both Evan Tierra and Kyle Eston on two separate occasions.
* CodeName: Madison Hayes, The Second Child.
* DarkActionGirl
* TheDreaded: Became this to some after Castelia, including Kyle, Ellen, and Sonja.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Seems to genuinely care for her sister and Ellen, as she is hurt when Sonja rejects her.
* FamilyThemeNaming: Sophia and Sonja are variations of the same name.
* HiddenAgendaVillain: Particularly in Castelia, where it wasn't clear exactly why she was trying to bomb the city until she was finally confronted by the combined Liberty-Rocket-Plasma group.
* LongLostSibling: To Sonja.
* MagicalFlutist: Channeled her psychic powers by playing a piccolo, allowing her to non-verbally control her Pokémon.
* MusicalAssassin: Her team is based around melodies, and she used a piccolo to control her Pokémon until it was destroyed in Castelia.
* PsychicPowers
* PutOnABus: Psychic overload resulted in her falling into a coma, which she has yet to awake from.
** TheBusCameBack: Recently revealed to have awakened, though is still in a very weakened state.
* TheReveal: It turns out that she is Sonja's older sister, who had disappeared many years before.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Originally spelled "Maddison" instead of "Madison" due to a typo that Parugi never bothered to correct. As of the end of the Pride-Gluttony episode, it's been officially corrected to "Madison."
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Best seen in their sprites--she and Sonja have almost identical faces.
* VillainDecay: Downplayed--her PsychicPowers have weakened since the Castelia incident, primarily due to the amount of time she spent in a coma, though it's likely they'll return to full strength with time.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She claims this about herself and the Hojohsin League as a whole when she is confronted by her sister and the others.

!!Tiana Soldati/Quincy Adams
The Third Child. An aggressive and brutal Ford operative.
----
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: Commits suicide in order to avoid being absorbed by Missing No. or torn apart by its agents.
* BloodKnight
* BoomHeadshot
* BrattyHalfPint: Seems to be Pierce's opinion of her, given his TheReasonYouSuckSpeech after she failed to ensure Joker's death.
* BreakTheHaughty: Has not taken well to her streak of losses, described under TheWorfEffect. Appears to have recovered following the overall success of Havoc.
* TheBrute
* CodeName: Quincy Adams, the Third Child.
* CurbStompBattle: Against Ethan and the Unown in her first appearance.
* DarkActionGirl
* DrivenToSuicide
* FairyTaleMotifs: Her Pokémon team, which carries a sort of "enchanted forest" theme.
* HeroicSacrifice: Stays behind so that Xander and Ryan can escape.
* TheInsomniac: Implied after she returns from destroying Havoc.
* KilledOffForReal
* MeaningfulName: "Treyson," the name she briefly used as a cover in Goldenrod City during the Sin Arc, means "third son," hinting to her true identity.
** Her real name, Tiana, serves as a shout-out to the main character from WesternAnimation/ThePrincessAndTheFrog, referencing her preference for fairy tales.
** Her last name "Soldati" means "Soldier," befitting her role in the Hojohsin League.
* RealityWarper: Her Beheeyem, Wizard, is capable of this, due to training with Nine.
* SmallNameBigEgo
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: Her methods in killing Maxie and Travis. On top of dropping them into a volcano whilst trapped in a metal pod, she detonated Havoc's structural weak points as well as its main cooling unit, causing the base to drop on top of said metal pod. Ouch.
* TheWorfEffect[=/=]VillainDecay: Her first appearance painted her as a threat on par with Pierce and Hayes. All of her subsequent battles--against Mewthree, Jackson Sang, and finally Pryce--have ended in humiliating losses for her. Notable for being the only Ford agent to have had this happen to her.
** Finally averted in Havoc. Compared to Hayes, Adams only lost three of her Pokémon in battle before circumstances cut the fight short.

[[folder: Tyler [=McKinley=]]]
!!Tyler [=McKinley=]
The Fourth Child. Another of Ford's operatives, not much is known about [=McKinley=].
----
* AffablyEvil
* BadassesWearBandanas: One with a skull on its front, to boot!
* CheshireCatGrin: Constantly wears one.
* CodeName: Tyler [=McKinley=], the Fourth Child.
* CoveredWithScars: All of his Pokémon.
* TheDreaded: To Nine.
* TheFaceless: For a time.
* TheHeavy: While Ford and Missing 0 serve as the Big Bad for their respective arcs, [=McKinley=] has the largest number of personal conflicts with the protagonists and drives most of the main conflict.
* FaceHeelTurn: Reveals himself to be an agent of Missing No. just prior to its appearance.
* LightIsNotGood: Has the brightest colors associated with him of any Ford agent, yet is implied to be the most dangerous.
* ManipulativeBastard: One of his most defining traits, easily convincing Adam, Sonja, and Ray to become the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Children, respectively, and toying with Ellen's head to presumably get her in on the game.
** Done again with Skye when he needed to replace Adam.
* PerpetualSmiler: Generally seen as a pleasant aspect, except for the unnatural feeling that everyone gets around him.
* PlotArmor: Occasionally acts as living plot armor for his fellow children, allowing them to get away from some pretty sticky situations.
* SmugSnake
* TheCharmer
* WorthyOpponent: Holds this view towards Ethan Worth's group as well as the Unova group.

!!Van Harrison
The Fifth Child, an amnesiac man with a strange resemblance to the fallen Hero of Time...
----
* CodeName: Van Harrison, the Fifth Child.
* DemotedToExtra: After over a year of inactivity, Van was removed from the Nine Children line-up and replaced with a new Fifth Child.
* GreenEyedMonster: The reason Envy challenged him, sensing his latent jealousy of those who actually know who they are.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: One of his two Pokémon is a Hydreigon.
* OutOfFocus: After his confrontation with Envy.
* PutOnABus: Happened when his player left, and solidified with his demotion from the position of Fifth Child.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Disappeared after Opelucid. There was a plot planned to follow this, but Detranix's departure killed it--possibly permanently.

!!Taylor Carter
The Ninth Child. For more information, see Ellen Burks.
----

!!Thomas Warren
A former Child occupying an unknown spot within Ford's line-up. He died under unknown circumstances shortly after the Rise of the Rockets story began.
----
* CodeName: Presumably, following the theme, Thomas Warren was not his real name.
* PosthumousCharacter: Only named by [=McKinley=] long after his death, citing it as evidence that Harrison had merely vanished and not, in fact, died, due to the psychic backlash that had occurred following Warren's death.
* UnknownCharacter: Nothing is known about Thomas Warren outside of his CodeName. Thus far his only purpose as a character has been to explain how the Hojohsin League members know when one of the Nine Children has fallen, and thus know when they are forced to "restart" the line-up.

!!The Ancient Darkrai

!!The Ancient Darkrai
The Ancient Darkrai were a group of Ten Darkrai who, in the beginning of the world, were entrusted with power over time and space in order to help keep those elements in balance. Their leader, Sombra, soon led them to rebel against Arceus, resulting in them being sealed away. They were eventually freed and sought to enshroud the world in darkness again, but were finally and definitively defeated through the combined efforts of Team Rocket, Team Liberty, and the three Heroes of the Origin Trio.
----
* NumericalThemeNaming: Named in descending order for their power levels, starting from Ten (Sombra) to One.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: About half of the group. Given that the
* RealityWarper: More so than normal Darkrai, as these possess the power to manipulate Time and Space in addition to their usual darkness-themed powers.

!!Sombra/Ten
The oldest Darkrai in existence and the leader of the Ancients, Sombra was formerly a follower of Arceus, leading his fellow Darkrai in the Creation Pokémon's defense. After Arceus bestowed upon him and his followers the powers of Time and Space, Sombra betrayed Arceus and attempted to usurp him. He was eventually defeated and sealed away, though reappeared due to the weakening powers of the Creation Trio, managing to cover the regions in darkness and escape from imprisonment before being defeated again.
----
* TheAssimilator: Absorbed all but three of the other Ancients during the final battle against him.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking
* BigBad: Of the Darkrai Arc.
** BigBadEnsemble: With Ford and (until his HeelFaceTurn) Sleight.
* ChronicBackStabbingDisorder: First against Arceus and the Creation Trio, and then against his own followers in order to go OneWingedAngel. Notably does the latter twice--once against the combined forces of the Hoenn Legends, and then in his final battle--neither times losing the respect of his underlings (except for Nine and later, through Nine's influence, Five.)
* DarkIsEvil: His body is jet-black, much darker than a normal Darkrai, and he is unquestionably evil.
* EldritchAbomination: Already considered one during his imprisonment, but even more so after absorbing the other Ancients.
* LargeAndInCharge
* OneWingedAngel: Transformed into a nightmarish conglomeration of the various Ancients when he absorbed them.
* SealedEvilInACan: More so than the others--Sombra's imprisonment could only be broken by the combined powers of the other Ancients; as a result, he never truly appeared until the final battle with the Ancients, when he was fully freed.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: In his Adam Sombra persona.
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!Ilios/Nine
A former follower of Sombra, Nine deserted the group after realizing the evils of his ways; because of this, he was spared the fates of his siblings, though his control over time and space were taken away. He recently regained these powers through the help of Ford, and now seeks to end the Rocket-Liberty War.
----
* AmbiguouslyEvil
* AntiVillain: Type III.
* TheAtoner
* BerserkButton: Does not react well when, during Mewthree's first test battle, the Genetic Pokémon's powers are repeatedly used to tear the fabric of space.
* BigDamnHeroes: Finishes off Eight after Kyle delivers an unexpected, though ultimately unsuccessful beat down to her that throws her into a rage.
* CurbStompBattle: Delivers one to Goldhawk and Blackskull in his first appearance and then to Mewthree during his first appearance.
* GracefulLoser: Quietly accepts that he will likely be killed by the Sins when their powers begin to overwhelm him.
* HeelFaceTurn: Performed one just prior to the Ancients' imprisonment, after realizing just what he was helping Sombra do.
** FaceHeelTurn: Nine's eventual alliance with Ford could be seen as this, though it is implied that he is not aware of exactly what Ford plans to do.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: His rationale for helping to free Sombra, as it would otherwise be impossible to get rid of him for good.
* OhCrap: His reaction when he realizes that the Sins are no longer asleep.
* SadisticChoice: A large part of his characterization within the overall Ancient Arc was built on this: Avoid helping in the ritual to free Sombra, thereby leaving the Shrouded regions permanently covered in darkness while simultaneously keeping the strongest and most evil Darkrai imprisoned; or help to free him, in the hopes that the gathered forces of humanity would prove strong enough to defeat him for good--but also dooming the world to eternal shadow if they failed? Ultimately, he chose the latter.
* ShellShockedVeteran
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Nine only works with Ford out of a genuine wish to stop the Liberty-Rocket War.
* TheWorfEffect: Suffers this against the newly-awakened Sins. Justified in that he had just participated in a grueling battle against Sombra.
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!Arthes/Eight
An extremely brutal member of the Ancients.
----
* TheBrute
* ISurrenderSuckers: Pretended that she had seen the error of her way before literally sucker punching Ariadne. Even her brethren believed her!
* KilledOffForReal: Destroyed, along with Sombra and several of her siblings.
* UndyingLoyalty
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!Seven
The craziest of the Ancients, prone to incessantly toying with his prey.
----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Seven can mock you and bring on the hurt at the same time, without missing a single beat along the way.
* BroughtDownToNormal: Courtesy of Five.
* CloudCuckoolander: Seven is absolutely insane, and doesn't try to hide it.
* GigglingVillain: He just finds life way too dang funny.
* HeelFaceTurn: Presumably, given he's working with Five after Sombra's defeat.
* Troll: Particularly in his early appearances; toned down somewhat later on.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Disappeared for a while after Sombra's defeat, though later reappeared with Five and Three in Opelucid City.
* WouldHurtAChild: As demonstrated by his battle against Ellen.
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!Gaigan/Six
A quiet Darkrai.
----
* PutOnABus: With Kane following Opelucid.
* TheQuietOne: She hardly, if ever, speaks.
* TheStoic: Very quiet and solemn.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Kane, not Sombra. This raises several questions regarding how long she has known of his existence.
* WhamShot: Her unexpected appearance in Opelucid, as it was assumed that she had died along with Sombra and the others.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: A subtle example, as she disappeared during the battle against Sombra, though no one--neither the players nor characters--actually noticed until her return in Opelucid.
* YouAreNumberSix

!!Daseos/Five
A rebellious Darkrai who often spoke down on Sombra's plans. Eventually sided with Ilios against Sombra.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: Saved Kyle and Ray from Six's Dark Void attack in Opelucid.
* HeelFaceTurn: Convinced by Nine to change sides. It actually saved his life.
* SourSupporter: To Sombra. Eventually resulted in him turning against Sombra during the final battle.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Along with Seven and Three, he disappeared for a while after Sombra's defeat, but later reappeared in Opelucid when Six reemerged.
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!Four
A brutish, yet intelligent member of the Ten.
----
* GeniusBruiser:
* KilledOffForReal: Along with Sombra and several of his other siblings.
* TheBrute: The most physically imposing Ancient.
* UndyingLoyalty: Follows Sombra regardless of his personal opinions of his Master's plans.
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!Three
The smartest of the Ten, Three is known for designing the Void Towers.
----
* BadassBookworm
* BroughtDownToNormal: Courtesy of Five.
* EldritchLocation: The Void Towers, which she designed.
* HeelFaceTurn: Seems that way, if her working with Five after Sombra's defeat is any indication.
* TheSmartGuy: She's the smartest of the Ancients.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Disappeared for some time following Sombra's defeat, but later reappeared in Opelucid City.
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!Two
An incredibly rude and snarky member of the Ten.
----
* KilledOffForReal: Died along with Sombra and most of the other Ancients.
* OutOfFocus: One of the least developed Darkrai.
* TheSnarkKnight: His primary defining personality trait.
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!One
The weakest of the Ten.
----
* CurbStompBattle: Delivered one to Evan Tierra in her first appearance, in order to demonstrate the Ten's power.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: What the aforementioned CurbStompBattle acted as for the Ancients as a whole.
* KilledOffForReal: Died along with Sombra and most of the other Ancients.
* MoralityPet: For Eight, of sorts.
* OutOfFocus: One of the least developed Darkrai.
%%zce* YouAreNumberSix

!!Damien Vicens/Shade
Formerly an Executive within Team Rocket, Shade was for some time considered an anomaly, until his true nature as the time-traveling son of Seth Vicens was revealed.
----
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Corrupted during his transportation into the past.
* DiedInYourArmsTonight: Died in Seth's.
* KilledOffForReal: Died during the final battle against Sombra when Ten absorbed the darkness within him.
* LukeYouAreMyFather: Delivers the news to Seth.
* TokenEvilTeammate: For a time, Shade acted as this among Team Rocket's leadership, as being literally corrupted by darkness did not leave much room for what sympathetic behaviors were present in other Executives and Admins.

!!Missing No. and the Sins

!!Missing No.
Beginning from Rise of the Rockets's 3rd Year anniversary onward, Parugi began to release silhouetted images of... things. They were finally revealed to be Agents of Missing No., an extradimensional creature hellbent on spreading throughout and devouring the world.
----
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: A full-size comparison image between the silhouettes of #33 and John Ford's sprite indicated that #33 is massive--about 144' in size compared to Ford's 6', and that's only including what appears to be its upper body. The largest Pokémon seen in-game so far, Rayquaza, is only 115' tall.
* EldritchAbomination: In numerous forms, just based off of the silhouettes:
** AnimalisticAbomination: Such as a leopard-like creature that appears as if it is on fire, among others.
** HumanoidAbomination: Several of them bear distinctly human shapes, with some subtle differences that make them appear not quite normal.
** MonstrousHumanoid: Others are also humanoid, but very clearly dissimilar to humans beyond their general body shape.
* ElementalPowers: All but confirmed to have them, considering they're being introduced into a Pokémon-themed story.
* OutsideContextProblem: The most unnerving thing about them--particularly taking into account some of the odder-looking designs--is that they currently have no context within the story, leaving it up in the air regarding what they actually are and what they want.
* ScheduleSlip: They were supposed to come into play during the third year of the story. Their introduction ended up being delayed for another three.
* ShoutOut: Despite currently only being seen in silhouette form, several of these creatures appear to possess similarities to characters/monsters from other series.
** 010 is an almost spot-on rendition of Blossomon. Likewise, 005 bears some resemblance to the D-Reaper's "Searcher" Type. Missing No. itself is heavily based off of the D-Reaper as a whole.
** 013, fittingly enough, resembles the Dusk Nobodies.
** 021 is a tall, thin, and bald humanoid figure.
** 024 was explicitly designed with Weeping Angels in mind.
** 043 resembles the Dancer-Type Shadows from the Franchise/Persona series, while 045 appears to take some design inspiration from VideoGame/Persona 3s Arcana Lovers.

!!The Seven Deadly Sins
A group of trainers somehow corrupted by darkness during the Ancients' conquest.
----
* BattleAura: They don't use it for direct combat, but each has their own constantly-visible aura.
* CastingAShadow: Their powers all appear to be tied to darkness, despite different elemental motifs.
* DuelBoss: Generally speaking, they appear to challenge a specific target at the height of that target's demonstration of a particular sin. Even so, this has technically been averted in most cases, as the target has received outside help.
* ElementalPowers: Each bears a different one representative of their sin.
* HumanoidAbomination: They are all people who literally embody the SevenDeadlySins, so this is to be expected.
* MeaningfulName: Every one of them. Sometimes involves...
** SignificantAnagram.
* OneWingedAngel: Implied that they all have more powerful forms. Only Envy's and Pride's have been seen.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: They all have the potential to be this if their targets don't play their cards right. So far, Sloth, Wrath, and Envy have demonstrated it the most.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: The Sins' modus operandi, challenging those who embody their individual sin in order to see how they deal with a direct confrontation based around it.

!!Decaia Holts/Sloth
A young man originating from Lavaridge Town, Hoenn. Decaia represents the sin of Sloth.
----
* AerithAndBob: This applies to the series as a whole, but Decaia himself is a particularly notable case, combining the SignificantAnagram first name "Decaia" with the relatively common, vanilla surname "Holts."
* TheAssimilator: Heavily implied to have done this to Nine in some form.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Acts friendly towards Nine, but in reality he's just stalling so that they can put him through more terror before he dies.
* FreezeFrameBonus: Briefly implied to have taken a visit to the Alamo after Lust and Greed's battle there.
* DissonantSerenity
* EarlyBirdCameo: The very first of the Sins to appear, way before the concept of the Sins was even known to the general populace.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette
* HumanoidAbomination: Destroyed Lavaridge in his very first appearance, which has been all but stated to have killed everyone who had been trapped there by the Darkrai, and is shown to physically extract a sphere of darkness from his chest. Then there's the fact that he literally eats sleep... Definitely qualifies.
* MeaningfulName[=/=]SignificantAnagram
** "Decaia" is an anagram of "acedia," the Latin name for the Sin of Sloth. It's also a form of the Portugese verb for "decay."
** "Holts" itself is an anagram of "sloth."
* PersonOfMassDestruction: His very first appearance involved him leveling the entirety of Lavaridge with a single explosion of energy.
* SesquipedalianSmith
* SlasherSmile: Wears one of these throughout the entirety of his conversation with Nine.
* WhamLine: "Nice shot. But here's a twist from me to you--I eat sleep."

!!Vidinia [=LeJauso=]/Envy
A young woman from Oreburgh City. Vidinia represents the sin of Envy.
----
* OneWingedAngel: The only sin to have fully utilized hers. When she did, she wiped out almost the entirety of Team Galactic.
* BecomeARealGirl: Reveals that her source of envy is her complete lack of a chance at an enjoyable life.
* BerserkButton: Downplayed. Envy is infuriated when Van implies she is not human, as it reminds her of the way that people would look at her when she lived on the streets of Oreburgh, but it's more of a TranquilFury than anything.
** Played straight when Mars rejects her, fueling the rage that ultimately destroys Team Galactic.
* BlowYouAway: Her elemental motif, appearing and disappearing in gusts of wind.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Prior to her corruption, Envy was dirt poor and lived on the streets of Oreburgh, where she was often looked upon with disdain. This ultimately left her vulnerable to corruption.
* DittoFighter: Her team is partially based around this concept.
%%* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette
* GreenEyedMonster: A very literal example.
* HannibalLecture: Delivered quite a long one to Van Harrison in an attempt to appeal to his inner envy. It ultimately worked.
%%* HumanoidAbomination
* MeaningfulName[=/=]SignificantAnagram:
** "Vidinia" is an anagram of "invidia," the Latin word for the sin of envy.
** "[=LeJauso=]" is "jealous" rearranged.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Owns a Hydreigon, which she used to battle Van's.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Single-handedly destroyed Team Galactic, killing everyone in the group's base at the time except for Jupiter.

!!Raimundo Rojo/Wrath
A mysterious man of unknown origin. Raimundo first appeared in Ecruteak City, emerging from a portal near the Tin Tower, yet showed the same signs of shadow corruption as the others. He represents the sin of Wrath.
----
* HumanoidAbomination: At least in his first appearance, even Rocket Executive Riley's Zapdos fell into a panic around him.
* MeaningfulName: "Rojo" is Spanish for "red," the color of his aura.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Utterly destroyed Ecruteak City in his first appearance and indirectly caused damage to Goldenrod when he reappeared.
* PlayingWithFire: His elemental motif, as seen when he was consumed by flames after his defeat.
%%* RedEyesTakeWarning
* SignificantAnagram: The "Rai" in "Raimundo" can be rearranged to spell "Ira", the Latin name for Wrath.

!!Libena Liron/Melanie Garven/Lust
One of a pair of female twins from Fortree City. Melanie represents the sin of Lust.
----
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette
* LightIsNotGood: Controls electricity and dresses in primarily light colors. This does not make her someone you want to meet.
* Lust: Of a power-seeking nature.
* MeaningfulName: Like her sister, Melanie's name starts with the word "me."
** Turns out that she and Greed were both renamed after being adopted as babies. "Libena" means "love," whilst "Liron" means "song for me" or "joy for me" depending on the interpretation.
* OddNameOut: She and Greed are the only ones whose former names are not strongly tied to their Sin.
** Subverted by her original name prior to being adopted by the Garvens, Libena Liron.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Greed's red.
%%* ShockAndAwe: Her elemental motif.
%%* SiblingTeam: With Greed.
* Invoked/TheOtherDarrin: On top of writing for her in her first appearance, Parugi took control of Lust after Detranix left to attend to personal issues.

----
* BreakThemByTalking: Attempted this on James Arthur, though failed.
* DeathSeeker: Implied by Lust to have actually wanted to die.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette
* ExtraOreDinary: Her elemental motif.
* Greed
* HannibalLecture: To James Arthur.
* MeaningfulName: Like her sister, Melanie's name starts with the word "me."
** Turns out that she and Lust were both renamed after being adopted as babies. "Alodia" means "foreign wealth," whilst "Liron" means "song for me" or "joy for me" depending on the interpretation.
* OddNameOut: Along with Lust, her former name isn't tied that strongly to her Sin.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Lust's blue.
* SiblingTeam: With Lust.
* Invoked/TheOtherDarrin: On top of writing for her in her first appearance, Parugi took control of Greed after Detranix left to attend to personal issues.

!!Albero [=DeLargo=]/Gluttony
A young man corrupted in Mossdeep City. He represents the Sin of Gluttony.
----
* AffablyEvil: He's pretty nice considering he's a man literally embodying a sin.
* TheAssimilator: Suggested this in regards to the rapidly-weakening Nine.
* BirthDeathJuxtaposition: A very downplayed example, but Gluttony's first appearance is in a graveyard, where his powers prompt flowers to spring to life in his wake.
* GreenThumb: His elemental motif.
* LeanAndMean
* MeaningfulName:
** "Albero" is Italian for "Tree."
** Subverted with "[=DeLargo=]," which was originally supposed to be "[=DeLarge=]," serving as a reference to Alex [=DeLarge=] of A Clockwork Orange--creating a triple reference due to the two characters' shared initials, as well as the fact that orange is both a fruit (Albero's elemental motif) and the color of Albero's Aura. However, it was changed to "[=DeLargo=]" by Alku before the character officially appeared, which--being the term for a slow tempo--fits with the idea of Albero taking longer than his fellows to become fully corrupted.
* NiceGuy: Tried to be this before his corruption fully took over.
* Invoked/TheOtherDarrin: Very much zig-zagged. Parugi wrote for Gluttony during his very first appearance and for the post in which Albero [=DeLargo=]'s last semblances of humanity were devoured, as well as some small posts beforehand leading up to that event. He was supposed to take over permanently after that point, until Alku decided to keep control of the character at the last minute.

!!Gelar Stolz/Pride
A young man corrupted in Mossdeep City. He represents the sin of Pride.
----
* AnIcePerson: His elemental motif.
* CreepilyLongArms: In his OneWingedAngel form.
* DoNotTauntCthulhu: Aria responds to his questions regarding their methods by shattering his glass of wine. It is heavily implied as he leaves that he could have easily killed her for the transgression then and there in he had felt like it.
* FairyTaleMotifs: Draws some parallels to WesternAnimation/Pinocchio.
* FantasticRacism: His HannibalLecture regarding Aria's pride--as well as those of her allies--almost makes it seem as if he will challenge her... until he notes that she is nothing but a Pokémon meant to serve others and promptly exits.
* Foil: To Gluttony, his "partner" Sin. Gluttony started out with a full focus on combating his target in a physical manner, and only began to shift to a more mental arena when he finally lost the struggle against his corruption and fully became his Sin. Pride fell almost immediately to his corruption and has so far not thrown a single punch at his three targets, instead choosing to pick them apart verbally. Gluttony revealed his entire team almost as soon as he first appeared, whereas Pride has only shown one of his. Where Gluttony, in either of his states, appears to have full control over his emotions, Pride is prone to sudden shifts in mood. And then, of course, there's the fact that Gluttony appeared in a location naturally full of his element, while Pride warped his location of choice into a frozen wasteland in the middle of summer.
* HannibalLecture: Delivers one to Dack, Hannah, and Aspen. Especially Hannah.
* HumanoidAbomination: As demonstrated when Aria attempted to read his aura. Suffice to say that what she saw made no sense whatsoever.
* IncrediblyLamePun: Pride controls ice. In other words, he gives people the cold shoulder.
** In a similar vein--and this was accidental--take a good, long look at the title of Pride and Prejudice.
* IronicName: "Stolz", which bares more than a passing resemblance to Sloth's last name ("Holts"), considering how hung up Pride appears to be regarding "false Pride-bearers."
* Main/Irony: Pride, the only Sinner to have gone out of his way to push a target towards evoking their sin, transforms into a puppet--strings and all--when going OneWingedAngel.
* ManOfWealthAndTaste: His standard method of dress.
* MeaningfulName[=/=]SignificantAnagram:
** Triply so with his first name: "Gelar" is an anagram of "Regal", and by taking away the "r" to make "Gela", his name becomes the Italian word for "Freezes." Along with that, "G" is the seventh letter of the alphabet, mirroring Pride's position as the seventh and final Sin to appear.
** "Stolz," likewise, is the German word for "Pride."
* MoodSwinger: His confrontation with Dack, Hannah, and Aspen shows that he does not have the best handle on his emotions.
* NonActionBigBad: So far the only Sin to be defeated without a real, physical battle. Considering his Rapidash no selled everything thrown at it and barely retaliated until he was overcome, the brief skirmish against it hardly counts.
* OneWingedAngel: Slowly began to transform into a monstrous puppet when it seemed as if his targets were going to fail to overcome him.
* Pride
* PurpleIsPowerful: His Aura color.
* ShoutOut: His OneWingedAngel form was inspired by the Puppet from Videogame/FiveNightsAtFreddys2.
* SpoiledBrat: His brief musings about their corruption indicate this to some degree.
* SuddenlyShouting: During his roasting of Hannah, most specifically.
* TakenForGranite: Slowly froze solid after being overcome by his targets.
* ThereCanBeOnlyOne: Effectively his attitude toward others bearing Pride.
* TheManBehindTheMan: To Hannah, at least to the extent that he drove her towards her RoaringRampageOfRevenge.
* WeatherDissonance: After his short confrontation with Aria, the summer weather in Celadon is quickly replaced with a heavy snowfall.
* WhiteMaskOfDoom: Part of his OneWingedAngel form. It was described as looking to be made of porcelain.
* WineIsClassy: First appears in the public eye with a wine glass full of... some sort of non-alcoholic grape concoction. Because he's physically underage. But the aesthetic is still there.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Is only 17, and thus the youngest of the Sins, but he certainly doesn't look it.
