The leader of Excalibur. Uses Gravity Destroyer, an indomitable Defense type that can switch between offensive and defensive specializations at a whim, an uncanny ability to seemingly manipulate gravity itself, and the previously unknown ability to choose its rotation direction at will.
----
* TheAce: Of course being the leader of his team means he is this but Julian is naturally gifted in a lot of other activities. Julian has made his way to the top of every field he has ever tried, as stated by him multiple times. Beyblade is one of those activities he hasn't tried out yet but despite recently getting into it, he is a ''very'' strong opponent.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Downplayed. While he is still kind of a prick in the anime, he is much more polite and soft-spoken than his manga counterpart, who would do anything to win. Not that he did it without any reason, though...
* AdaptiveArmor: Gravity Destroyer can switch between attack and defense modes at will. And that isn't even getting into its ability to start in either right or left-rotation mode...
* BreakTheHaughty: He is extremely arrogant towards those that he battles, treating them as beneath him. Being defeated by Gingka made him determined to beat him no matter what. Then he fought Damian, and things only got worse for him.
* DemotedToExtra: A semi-major character in Masters was reduced to one speaking cameo appearance in Fury.
* {{Expy}}: An insanely powerful beyblader from a noble family whose acts of indulging in FamilyHonor involves conquering the sport and academic world? Sounds a lot like [[Anime/BakutenShootBeyblade Garland]].
* FaceHeelTurn: Defected to Star Breaker for a while, effectively being blackmailed into doing so. Thankfully, [[HeelFaceTurn it gets better for him]].
* FreudianExcuse: Manga-only. His father is too busy to care for him, leading him to adopt the do-everything-to-win attitude he had.
* FamilyHonor: One of the reasons why he is ThePerfectionist is so he can honour his family by being the best at everything he does. Once he feels like he can't accomplish that, he breaks down. ''Bad''...
* GravityIsPurple: His beyblade and bey spirit all have purplish color schemes. And he has at least one gravity-based technique.
* GravityMaster: His Bey can manipulate it to "petrify" enemies when in attack mode. His Gravity Brave technique actually fires condensed gravity blasts to blow up his opponents..
* HeelFaceTurn: Wales & Sophie manage to invoke this on Julian when they urge him to continue fighting, after he learns that they swear loyalty to him as the Emperor of Team Excalibur not because of his fortune or achievements, but because they consider him to be their friend. Julian, upon hearing this, realises that he really hasn't lost everything and that his worth isn't decided by his talents.
* MasterOfAll: Julian has reached the top of every field he has ever tried. The level of talent he has is utterly absurd. Beyblade is the first thing in his life that he isn't the best at, but he's still one of the best.
* {{Medusa}}: Perseus, specifically in Counter Mode.
* NeverTrustATrailer: If you watch the English opening for Beyblade Metal Masters, it shows Julian antagonizing Gingka and the others signaling he may be a villain or even the BigBad of the season. However, Julian is anything but evil but mainly a JerkWithAHeartOfGold who wants to be perfect at everything including Beyblade.
* ThePerfectionist: He feels the need to be perfect at absolutely everything. Being the best in every field is the pride of the Konzern family and Julian sees it as his destiny to continue that tradition.
* RedBaron: Is known as "The Emperor".
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Not him, but his beyblade. It has a few dots which glow red during a [[TakenForGranite particular attack]].
* ShockAndAwe: His first special move: Black Excalibur strikes with the power of blackish purple lightning.
* StoneWall: His beyblade is known for having the best defense in the world. Madoka remarks that Destroyer is essentially completely covered in armour. It lived up to the title, until [[NighInvulnerable Tempo]] came along.
* VillainousBreakdown: Technically he was a rival, but Damian broke his composure, sanity, and ideals all in one battle, reducing him to a prideless wreck.

!!Wales
!!!Voiced By: Creator/YoshimasaHosoya (Japanese), Scott Gorman (English)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wellspng.png]]
Sophie's partner and one of Damian's confidants. Uses Grand Cetus, a Defense type designed to absorb and deflect any attack without taking damage whatsoever.
----
* CombinationAttack: Grand Deucalion, with Sophie.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's rude, condescending and a straight up dick to everyone. Sometimes, he can be as bad as Julian.
* MakingASplash: Like with Sophie, uses mainly water in his bey's attacks due to it having a whale theme.
* MeaningfulName: His name is "Wales" and his bey has a "Whale" theme. Also, his name is the same as the country from Great Britain which is where he originates from.
* StoneWall: His Bey possesses ludicrous amounts of defense, able to withstand or deflect practically anything. Even more so than Sophie as his Cetus is devoted entirely to defense.
* TagTeam: With Sophie.

!!Sophie
!!!Voiced By: Creator/EriKitamura (Japanese), Onalea Gilbertson (English)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sophiepng.png]]
Wales' partner and one of Damian's confidants. Uses a second variant of Grand Cetus that loses some of its defensive ability for the ability to manipulate air and create maelstrom-like currents.
----
* BlowYouAway: Her Cetus' Tornado Spin Track allows it to whip up destructive maelstroms.
* CombinationAttack: Grand Deucalion, with Wales.
* FrenchJerk: Subverted. She's only hostile if she feels like Gingka and the others are interrupting her team's traditional training. When they're not, she's pretty nice compared to Wales.
* MakingASplash: Uses a lot of water attacks like with Wales' bey.
* NiceGirl: Though she can be strict, she's very nice and friendly to others when she isn't blading.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: She's harsh to those who break their rules but is usually more polite about it, compared to Wales.
* StoneWall: Not as much as Wales, as her Cetus sacrifices some defense for the whirlpool-generating ability, but still.
* TagTeam: With Wales.

!!Klaus
!!!Voiced By: Creator/HisaoEgawa (Japanese), Marcel St. Pierre (English)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/klaus_4.png]]
A blader who constantly surpasses his limits in order to become more powerful. User of Grand Capricorn, a Defense bey with insane offensive and defensive ability.
----
* TheBigGuy: Literally the largest member of the team.
* TheBrute: His battle style. He just sends Capricorn to smash into anything in his way, something that only works because of it's staggering offensive and defensive power.
* BlankWhiteEyes: When he lost to Jack.
* HeroicRROD: Overexerts himself during his battle with Masamune and after winning, he falls into a minor coma where he misses out on the next match.
* LightningBruiser: Combined with Klaus' immense launching power, Grand Capricorn moves fast, plows through everything with crushing power, and will not be so much as stopped without some serious firepower on the opponent's part.
* NiceGuy: Not counting his taunting with Chi-Yun, he's a decent guy, congratulates Masamune on his efforts during their battle, and isn't a prick like the rest of his team.
* RedBaron: The Axe of Destruction.
* ShirtlessScene: His shirt tends to burst in the middle of a battle when he's at his limits.
* SignatureMove:
** Claw of the Storm. This move is unique as it has different "phases." Claw of the Storm: First (a straight-on rush attack), Claw of the Storm: Second (a dive bomb attack), and Claw of the Storm: Third (a powerful attack that sends the opponents bey into the air usually resulting in a ring out).
** Steel Darkness: Pretty much considered his finishing move. Klaus' bey rushes toward his opponent with the pointed ends (the horns) that can almost certainly knock it out.
* TheJuggernaut: Seriously, this guy is a ''powerhouse''. His Capricorn can brute-force its way through nearly anything without a scratch. Even on the losing end against Jack, the man's stamina and endurance during the battle are a sight to behold.
* WorthyOpponent: Sees Masamune as this. Despite defeating him, Klaus is impressed by Masamune's strength and is looking forward to facing him again. Masamune returns the favor.
