!!The Jaegers
[[folder:In General]]

* AnimalMotifs: The Jaegers seem to be represented by a predatory bird. One is shown flying past as Esdeath names the group in both the manga and the anime, while in the guidebook, each of the group's member's profile page is marked with a small bird-like symbol. The same symbol is also shown in manga Chapter 28, as a backdrop for the group.
* AntiVillain: Some of the members like Wave and Bols are this, especially considering that the Jaegars themselves don't actively abuse the populace of the Empire and are actually intent on protecting them. Unlike [[EvilerThanThou Wild Hunt]].
* BadassCrew: All the members of the group (except Dr. Stylish) are pretty good fighters that can wipe out armies and are very dangerous as their own. For this reason Najenda decides to confront them separately.
* BadassInANiceSuit: The first time the group assembled, their first order of business is to meet the emperor in stylish black suits.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Most of them are rather strange people with their quirks and oddities. But they're also a dangerous group of skilled Teigu users and one of the most powerful forces of the Empire.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Though not to the extent of the Night Raid, the inner page of volume 4 and the openings of the series gives each one a respective color. Those are:
** Esdeath: Azure Blue.
** Wave: Dark Blue.
** Kurome: Grayish Black.
** Seryu: Orange.
** Run: Purple.
** Bols: Fuchsia.
** Dr. Stylish: Dark Green.
* CurbStompBattle: One of the first missions of the Jaegers is to kill a group of bandits. At the beginning of the fight the bandits starts making cocky comments about the group and think they can win because they are more, even saying that they will take Kurome and Seryu for them. The Jaegers mop the floor with them without a scratch.
* TheDreaded: Esdeath is already bad enough news for anyone opposing the Empire. So naturally the team she leads also brings fear to rebels.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even the worst members of their group have a strict moral code.
* EvilCounterpart: To Night Raid. [[ALighterShadeOfBlack Though for some of them, calling them evil seems like a stretch.]]
* EvilIsOneBigHappyFamily: They all seem to genuinely enjoy each other's company. Even Dr. Stylish who is the most depraved member of the squad, did seem to be genuinely fond of Seryu and is a perfectly sociable, if not weird, guy around his comrades.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5qhvynBgsE Jaegers.]]
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: They can be very ruthless, but they are not barbarians. They don't indiscriminately kill the Empire's citizens unless they suspect them to working with LaResistance. Every member at least has their own share PetTheDog moments. This is very stark contrast to Wild Hunt where they are willing to kill the Empire's citizens for ''any'' reason ([[ForTheEvulz even for fun]]).
* MeaningfulName: Esdeath called the group based in the german word "jäger", which means hunter, as they are the ones who hunt Night Raid.
* MoralityPet: Collectively, the group serves, or at least attempts to serve, as one to [[SocialDarwinist Esdeath]], as they are among the few in existence [[SingleTargetSexuality aside from Tatsumi]] who can get her to show her softer side. Exactly how well they succeed in the long run is...[[ZigZaggedTrope up to debate]] [[spoiler:as once all of them are dead or deserted, her first thoughts are of their wasted potential, but she does decide to dedicate the coming battle with [[AvengingTheVillain the Revolution]] to [[FreudianExcuse their names]]]].
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: Esdeath is the WorldsStrongestWoman, Seryu is the first one to kill an important character, and Kurome is introduced as [[TheAce her sister's]] equal in combat, and they all kill a Night Raid member, namely [[spoiler:Susanoo, Sheele, and Chelsea]], respectively. In contrast, Stylish and Bols don't kill anyone onscreen [[spoiler:and die early on]], Wave doesn't seem to kill anyone at all, and Run [[spoiler:dies shortly after killing Champ]].
* MyCountryRightOrWrong: With the exception of [[SocialDarwinist Esdeath]], [[MadScientist Dr. Stylish]], [[BlackAndWhiteInsanity Seryu]] and possibly [[BrainwashedAndCrazy Kurome]] this is the general sentiment amongst the Jaegers. They are willing to admit how corrupt the Empire is, and in the case of Wave and Run specifically, want to work to change it fro the inside.
* ThePsychoRangers: To Night Raid. Tatsumi even lampshades how similar the two opposing sides are.
** Esdeath to Najenda, the leaders of their respective groups and great tacticians.
** Kurome to Akame, child assassins who are one of the strongest members. Bonus points being also sisters.
** Wave to Tatsumi, newcomers to the team who become the OnlySaneMan. They also wear PoweredArmor with conflicting colors (White/Red vs Black/Blue).
** Run to Leone, yellow-themed characters who transform into animals (beast vs bird).
** Seryu to Mine, ruthless young girls devoted to their team and carry powerful ranged weapons. [[spoiler: This makes their fight well fit.]]
** Dr. Stylish to Lubbock, crazy geniuses with glove Teigus. And arguably to Bulat, two gay men who [[CampGay present]] opposite [[ManlyGay sides]] of the spectrum.
** Koro to Susanoo, being organic Teigus.
** Bols to Chelsea. One thinks he's a bad person despite being very nice, the other thinks she's doing good while being very rude and jaded. Also, one focuses on strength while the other uses deception.
* PunchClockVillain: Other than [[CuteAndPsycho Seryu]], [[PsychoForHire Esdeath]], [[MadScientist Dr. Stylish]] and [[HorrorHunger Kurome]], most of the members see being in the group as just a job and generally aren't villainous otherwise outside of combat.
* ReplacementGoldfish: The Jaegers are formed after Night Raid kills Esdeath's former elite team, the Three Beasts. At least in the anime. In the manga, Esdeath said to the Emperor in their meeting that she wanted to form a group of six Teigu users to form the Imperial Police (prior to the death of the Three), as the Three Beasts were part of her army, but not of her new Police.
* SlidingScaleOfVillainEffectiveness: Some of the Jaegers have been more of a threat to Night Raid than others. Esdeath is at the top of the scale being the strongest opponent in the series and [[spoiler: killing Susanoo]]. Seryu is a close second as she [[spoiler: killed Sheele and came close to winning her second fight with Mine]]. Kurome follows right after Seryu as she [[spoiler: killed Chelsea]]. Dr. Stylish and Bols are in the middle as neither killed anyone in Night Raid but Dr. Stylish came close to winning his battle and Bols had an effective Teigu and put Night Raid in a position where he could have taken out Akame and Leone. Wave and Run however are the least effective as both of them hardly ever antagonized Night Raid. Wave was nothing more than a mere hindrance and the only effectiveness he had was severely injuring Akame in the Bolick Assassination arc [[spoiler:and while he proved to be an even match for the Incursio-fused Tatsumi once he started using both Mastema and Grand Chariot, that was also the point he chose to OptOut of the war]], while Run never fought anyone in Night Raid at all. In fact during the Wild Hunt arc Run ended up being more of a help to Night Raid than anything because [[spoiler: he killed Champ]].
* SortingAlgorithmOfEvil: Each of the Jaegers are their own varying degrees of evil. Ranging from Dr. Stylish who is the most depraved member of the squad, Esdeath being a close second, Seryu and Kurome who are very much evil but aren't devoid of redeeming qualities, Bols and Run who have good intentions but aren't above doing "evil" things, and Wave who [[HeroAntagonist isn't evil at all]].
* VillainousFriendship: They're the bad guys, yet they genuinely get along and enjoy spending time as friends in their spare time.
* VillainsOutShopping: Interestingly, the Jaegers are seen during their downtime from fighting, and some of them even have their own interesting background, like Bols cooking for the others.

-->''"Protecting the powerless is simply a soldier's duty!"''
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YoshimasaHosoya (Japanese), Creator/DavidMatranga (English), Sergio Aliaga (Latin American Spanish)

A former member of the Imperial Navy recruited by Esdeath as a member of the Jaegars. Wave is a simple man of common upbringing and is initially naive of the corruption of the Empire. Harboring strong convictions of honor and duty, Wave works tirelessly to make the Empire a better place for all.

His Teigu is Carnage Incarnate: Grand Chariot, a counterpart to the Incursio armor, but considered to be the superior model of the two.
----
* AchillesHeel: He's very, very strong while inside Grand Chariot, but since he needs time to transform it before combat, he's rather vulnerable if he gets ambushed before he can do so. When Night Raid launched their surprise attack on the Jaegers, Susanoo was able to remove Wave from the fight instantly by punching him clear into the sky, with Wave noting afterwards that he would've been killed on the spot if he didn't block the blow with his sword.
* AdaptationalWimp: As a side effect of the anime route, the poor Wave had most of his awesome moments cut out and his participation in the story was greatly reduced. Because Bolic's assassination was adapted during Seryu and Mine battle, he did not fight with Akame, Lubbock and Mine (fight when he reveals how powerful his Teigu is) and because Wild Hunt didn't appeared in the anime, he never fights Syura (moment that consolidates his relationship with Kurome). Except a brief fight with Susanoo and helping Tatsumi to defeat the Ultimate Teigu, his role in the anime is minimal.
* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: [[spoiler:He resigns from the Empire and gives up his goal to change it from within after he realizes protecting Kurome is his top priority.]]
* AntiVillain: He doesn't really like the state the empire's in and is very well aware of the immense corruption of the nobles and of the [[PsychoForHire more psychotic members]] of his group but he embraces his role as an enforcer due to a debt from an unseen savior back in the navy.
* AvengingTheVillain: During Bolic's assassination, one of his main motives to fight Night Raid is to avenge the deaths of [[spoiler: Bols, Seryu and Coro]] at the hands of the assassins.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Of a sorts. He is capable of very quickly learning his opponent's attack patterns and style, even unpredictable and unfamiliar ones like Syura's.
* BigDamnHeroes: Has a habit of making [[DynamicEntry Dynamic Entries]] into battle to aid his companions, the most notable being in the manga when he interrupts Kurome and Akame's duel [[spoiler:and later shows up to aid Tatsumi in fighting the Ultimate Teigu]].
* BlackKnight: [[PowerArmor Grand Chariot]] certainly gives him the appearance of one, [[NiceGuy but he lacks the personality]].
* BridalCarry: Wave does this to Kurome twice, in chapter 64 & [[spoiler: in chapter 66, they even kiss.]]
* ButtMonkey: He tends to get the short end of the stick at times, from his punishment by Esdeath for allowing Tatsumi to escape to constantly being ejected off the battlefield by Night Raid.
* TheCaretaker: [[spoiler:Wave decides to leave the Empire to take Kurome to the secret hot springs, where he will dedicate himself to take care of her and improve her health. Besides looking after her body, Wave is there to calm Kurome down when she has hallucinations because of her PTSD.]]
* CharacterDevelopment: He's initially introduced as a simple man of common upbringing and is initially naive of the corruption of the Empire. However, after spending time in the Capital itself, he has grown more cautious of it realizing that the empire needs to be changed for the better. He also over time develops romantic feelings for Kurome, which she returns. And ultimately realizing how important Kurome is to him, and seeing how corrupt is the Empire for which he fights, Wave chooses to run away with Kurome, and leave the Empire behind for the time being.
* ColorFailure: Wave attempts to cheer up Seryu after Dr. Stylish was killed by Night Raid. Instead he sees Esdeath comforting her with a CooldownHug, and goes white while looking like a complete fool for trying to sound so manly.
* TheConfidant: Acts as one for Kurome.
* CountryMouse: He is transferred to the capital via Esdeath's request for him. He tries his best not to look like a country bumpkin, but unfortunately he's still seen as one by many of the citizens there.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite his {{Butt Monkey}} moments, [[spoiler: he [[CurbStompBattle curb stomps]] Tatsumi with Incursio equipped, supresses Lubbock, Akame and Mine at the same time and beats Syura in a fist fight, despite the fact that the latter being a very good physical fighter.]] He's also the first (and currently only) person that could [[spoiler: control two teigu at once]].
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Dark blue eyes and hair. {{Averted}} in the anime, when his hair is more dark than his eyes.
* DeclarationOfProtection: Quietly declares to himself that he will protect Kurome and the burden of her side of any fight so that her [[spoiler: GameBreakingInjury won't be revealed to the Empire and so that she won't use the now zombified Run for battle.]] Takes it even further after his clash with Akame in chapter 62, [[spoiler:where he declares his intention to take down the entire rebellion and get Kurome the help she needs to break her addiction to her PsychoSerum]] and keep Akame and Kurome from killing each other.
* DeusExitMachina: When Night Raid went after Kurome the first thing they do is send Wave flying off a la [[Characters/PokemonTheSeriesTeamRocketTrio Team Rocket]]. Fights against Imperial Arms users are tough enough and Wave is one of the stronger members of the Jaegers. Probably third strongest [[spoiler: and he later ties with Kurome as second strongest due to her GameBreakingInjury]].
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Despite being introduced as an antagonist Wave ends up taking on this role as of the Wild Hunt arc. He's given the same amount of CharacterDevelopment as Tatsumi, his expression of dislike for The Empire and plans to change it from within make him come off more as a second protagonist. Especially made all the more apparent when Wave is arguably more "heroic" than Tatsumi.
* DevotedToYou: [[spoiler:After realizing his feelings for her, Wave swears to dedicate his life to protect and take care of Kurome, readily throwing it all away to live a peaceful life with her.]]
* DramaPreservingHandicap: Like Esdeath, Wave's abilities would have been extremely detrimental to his opponents had got to fight all out during the earlier stages of the story. Naturally, the story pulls several DeusExitMachina, or forces Wave to fight in a situation where he couldn't use his Teigu. By time the handicap was remove, Night Raid has [[LevelGrinding Level Grinded]] to a point where Wave is hardly a threat to them anymore. [[spoiler:He quickly boosts back up in danger level when he gets Mastema and starts DualWielding it alongside Grand Chariot, to the point no one short of the Incursio-fused Tatsumi could beat him, but that was the point he decided to OptOut of the war with Kurome. A good thing too, since the last thing the Revolutionary Army needed was another near Esdeath-level opponent on hand.]]
* DualWielding: [[spoiler: To stop Kurome and Akame's fight, Wave manages to wield both Grand Chariot and Run's Mastema wings simultaneously, vastly improving his speed and strength.]]
* EvilCounterpart: A subversion for Tatsumi. The Jaegers are antagonists but he is an AntiVillain, and their characters and Teigu are pretty much the same. Ironically, Wave may in fact be Tatsumi's "Good Counterpart" considering that unlike Tatsumi, he was yet to kill anyone. In the Fight of the Sisters arc, he desperately worked hard to try to prevent Kurome and Akame from killing each and ultimately [[spoiler: does find a solution where the both of them can live]], whereas Tatsumi was willing to stand aside and let the sisters fight each other, if only because he wanted to respect Akame's wishes to dealing with her sister.
* FailureHero: From little things like cheering up his teammates to actually protecting them, Wave finds repeatedly that he is incapable of either. Subverted since he was [[spoiler: successfully able to save Kurome from dying as well as getting her off her drugs.]]
* {{Foil}}: To Akame, made especially prominent in the Battle of the Sisters arc. Both of them want to change the Empire for the better, but once Akame was exposed to its corruption, she decides to defect from it and save it through [[LaResistance revolution]], while Wave opts to [[InternalReformist save it from the inside]] despite knowing how cruel it is. And both of them care deeply for Kurome, but Akame has come to the conclusion that she can never have a healthy relationship with her sister again, so she decides to [[KillTheOnesYouLove kill her to end the bad blood between them]]. [[spoiler:In the anime, she succeeds]]. Wave on the other hand continuously improves his relationship with Kurome, and tries to stop the to sisters from fighting each other. [[spoiler:In the manga, he succeeds]].
* GoodWingsEvilWings: [[spoiler:When he obtains [[PowerGivesYouWings Mastema]] from Run's corpse, it's activated state retains the FallenAngel color scheme, but it's {{subverted}} as Wave is still [[DarkIsNotEvil one of the most heroic characters in the story]]. It's possible [[RuleOfCool it remained that way because Grand Chariot is also black]]]].
* HeroAntagonist: He is a member of the Jaegers that makes him an antagonist. But he is the least evil member of the group who not having any particular appearance quirks, fixations, or sociopathic tendencies and is driven out of a genuine desire to do the best for people. In fact he in some way is even more heroic character than some of members of Night Raid.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: His joining of the Jaegers and subsequent adventures with them, run parallel to Tatsumi's own. Also, it's worth noting that the first half of the Wild hunt arc and the Fight of the Sisters arc are told mostly through his perspective.
* HypocriticalHumor: He laments the way most people react with fear or disgust to Bols due to the mask he wears along with his large size, despite usually trying to help them. Wave is then immediately reminded by the other Jaeger members of his first reaction to Bols when the Jaegers were first forming, and how he freaked out as well.
* ItsAllMyFault: He blames himself for [[spoiler:being knocked out from the Night Raid ambush that resulted in the death of Bols.]]
* LightningBruiser: While in Grand Chariot, he is powerful enough to overpower three Night Raid members, outrun ''Akame'' and like Incursio, is NighInvulnerable.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Kurome is notably much more mentally stable when she's with Wave. [[spoiler:Near the end of the manga, Wave professing his love for Kurome becomes the reason Kurome decides to live on instead of dying for the Empire. After they run away together, Kurome's mental and physical health are slowly improving thanks to Wave dedicating all his time to taking care of her.]]
* LoveEpiphany: [[spoiler:After Kurome gives him a NowOrNeverKiss, Wave realizes he has always loved Kurome, not as a comrade, but as a woman.]]
* LoveMartyr: Kurome might not show her worst {{Yandere}} tendencies towards him specifically, but Wave still has to put up with a ton of crap from her clear mental problems, mainly [[spoiler:her turning their friend Run into one of her corpse puppets]]. [[spoiler:It all pays off in the end.]]
* MirrorCharacter: To Tatsumi. Wave thematically represents what could have happened to Tatsumi if he had joined the Jaegers instead of Night Raid. Like Tatsumi, Wave is a NiceGuy who hates injustice, grew up in the countryside away from the capital's corruption, and his Teigu is also a PoweredArmor that mirrors Tatsumi's. They even have similar choices in love interests as both fall in love with the petite girl who teases them a lot in their respective teams.
* MoralityPet: He tends to bring out the cuter and sweeter side of Kurome's personality.
* NaiveNewcomer: In comparison to the other members of Jaegars, Wave is clearly the least experienced and most innocent of them.
* NiceGuy: Actively believes his job will change the corrupt crime rampant within the empire and is always seen getting along with fellow members of the Jaegars, [[ShipTease especially]] Kurome.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: When talking to Tatsumi in chapter 18, both of them learn they have issues with their respective teammates. Were they not on opposing sides, they likely would have been good friends and allies.
* NotSoSimilar: Wave and Tatsumi start off with very similar inexperienced and idealistic mindsets. As the series goes on, their differences become obvious as they lose some of their teammates and see their ideals challenged. Whereas Tatsumi grows more cynical and pragmatic by killing when necessary, Wave retains his idealism in spite of his hardships and always tries to find an alternative to full-out slaughter by preferring to simply subdue. This is best shown by their reactions to Akame and Kurome's final duel; Tatsumi believes he must let the sisters resolve this on their own and he promises to not interfere even should it come to the two trying to kill each other, but he will help Akame in every way he can. On the other hand, Wave tries to stop Kurome because he desperately wants her to live and stop killing. Not willing to listen to him or make peace with Akame, Kurome has to knock him down to keep him from getting in her way. [[spoiler:However, it's his willingness to get involved that ultimately saves Kurome's life and allows the sisters to reconcile.]]
* ObliviousToLove: Much like Tatsumi, Wave doesn't seem to realize how increasingly, Kurome's feelings for him aren't just those of friendship and camaraderie. [[spoiler:It takes her kissing him in Chapter 64 and him going out his way to save her in Chapter 66 before he finally figures it out and reciprocates those feelings]].
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler: In Chapter 66, he and Kurome become a couple after he declares his love for her and wish to devote himself to extend her lifespan. In the epilogue, they're happily living together at some hot springs.]]
* OneHeadTaller: He tops Kurome's height by a head.
* OnlySaneMan: In the [[PsychoForHire Jaegars]], Wave is the only stable and moral member of the team.
* OptOut: [[spoiler: Realizing how important Kurome is to him, and seeing that they stand no chance against Night Raid, Wave chooses to run away with Kurome, and leave the Empire behind for the time being.]]
* RageBreakingPoint: While Wave could put up with the Jaegars at first; when he sees Wild Hunt's actions, he completely loses it.
* RetiredBadass: In the manga epilogue, [[spoiler:Wave has retired from the Empire and is living peacefully with Kurome, dedicating himself to take care of her.]]
* ShipTease: With Kurome. She didn't care very much for him in the beginning, but after Bolic assassination, she opens more to him. Their relationship became so close that Wave even [[spoiler: beat Syura nearly to death because he tried to rape Kurome]]. The two actually [[spoiler: become an OfficialCouple in Chapter 66]].
* SignatureScent: Due to his many years out at sea and his love of seafood, many people commented that Wave smells like fish and/or seawater. During his introduction, many of the people found his scent to be unpleasant. So far, only Kurome seems to be the only one to enjoy his scent, or at the every least, she is willing to stand it to be with Wave.
* SkilledButNaive: Esdeath makes it a point to inform Wave that his strength is perfect; but how he lacks mental fortitude, and thus as a result can be easily deceived or misled.
* SuaveSabre: When Grand Chariot is not active, Wave uses it as a short sabre.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: When he witnesses Wild Hunt's actions; most notably their [[spoiler:rape and murder of Bols' wife and daughter '''on his own grave''', and Syura's attempted assault on Kurome, which brings him to a RageBreakingPoint.]]
* TokenGoodTeammate: The only person in the Jaegars that has absolutely no irredeemable qualities whatsoever. He’s never even seen killing a person, civilian or criminal, at all.
* TookALevelInBadass‎: In Chapter 66, he was able to [[spoiler: take possession of Run's Mastema and combine it with his Grand Chariot, which greatly increased his power. Wielding both Grand Chariot and Mastema has now made him an even match for Incursio's Evolved Form and could possibly make him one of the few who can hope to beat ''Esdeath'' in a one-on-one fight]].
* TookALevelInCynic: ''{{Averted}}'', which is amazing given [[CrapsackWorld the world he lives in]]. Despite Wave getting a ton of abuse thrown his way, he's without a doubt the most idealistic and moral character in the entire series and ''stays'' that way, unlike his {{Foil}} Tatsumi who [[BreakTheCutie gets his idealism shattered again and again]]. Tatsumi [[spoiler:after they work together to fight the Emperor]] even outright tells him to never lose his idealism.
* TheUnfought: Becomes this in the anime since his fight with Akame, Lubbock, and Mine was removed and Tatsumi doesn't fight him while Akame fights Kurome. He's the only member of the Jaegers that Night Raid doesn't battle in the anime.
* UnknowinglyInLove: Wave feels strongly attracted to Kurome from early on and is very protective of her, but he can only recognize his feelings for her as friendship [[spoiler:until she kisses him before facing Akame in a fight to the death. Wave then realizes he's in love with Kurome and manages to convince to leave the Empire with him.]]
* WhatTheHellHero: He calls out Kurome [[spoiler:for continuously making use of Run's deceased body as one of her corpse puppets. He also calls her on casually assuming that the EmptyShell of their deceased friend is enough to substitute the fact that he's no longer alive.]]
* WoodenShipsAndIronMen: In his introduction, Wave mentions that before joining the Jaegers he served in the Imperial Navy fighting with pirates and Danger Beasts to return a favor to a Captain of the Navy.

!!! Teigu:Grand Chariot
* BadassCape: The armor comes with a cool-looking cape that ''[[AntiGravityClothing floats]]''.
* CoolMask: The armor comes with a helmet with a mask.
* DarkIsNotEvil: It's all black armor, but don't forget that Wave is actually one of the most merciful members of the entire cast.
* {{Flight}}: Grand Chariot trades the InvisibilityCloak of Incursio for the usage of being able to fly for short amounts of time.
* ImpossiblyCoolClothes: Encompassing the wearer's back is a shield that floats without any support.
* InstantArmor: Wave can summon it at any time.
* PoweredArmor: It's a superpowered armor-type Teigu, same as Incursio.
* NighInvulnerability: It also proves rather effective at blocking attacks from Akame's [[OneHitKill Murasame]].
* RedBaron: Carnage Incarnate: Grand Chariot
* SignatureMove: Utilizing its flight abilities, "Grand Fall," a devastating dive kick, is one of the armor's most powerful attacks.
* SuperiorSuccessor: Grand Chariot is made up of a lot of ores and a few prime quality materials different from Tyrant and Wave confidently states that because of this fact Grand Chariot is superior to its predecessor. [[spoiler:Of course, he learns first-hand it can't hold a candle to the Evolved Incursio, and only when he combined it with [[PowerGivesYouWings Mastema]] does he stand a chance]].
* SuperStrength: Grand Chariot is capable of cracking the defenses of Incursio with ''one kick'', a Teigu known for [[NighInvulnerability nigh invulnerable armor]].

Akame's younger sister recruited by Esdeath to form the Jaegars. Like her sister, Kurome is a skilled assassin, forcibly trained since childhood by the Empire to kill effectively and without remorse. She holds a grudge against Akame for abandoning her and their former assassin squad in favor of joining Night Raid.

Her Teigu is March of the Dead: Yatsufusa, a katana that has the power to convert those it kills into undead puppets under its wielder's command.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: Her final fight with Akame was less one-sided in the anime than it was in manga. Ironically, [[spoiler: she was killed in anime, but spared in the manga]].
* AlasPoorVillain: She gets this treatment towards the end of the confrontation with Akame [[DeathByAdaptation in the anime]]. In her dying moments, Kurome revealed her feelings for a grieving Wave before closing her eyes in peace. Wave was allowed to bring back Kurome's body with him for proper burial as well as taking her Teigu, and Akame broke down in tears for having to kill the sister she loved in Tatsumi's arms.
* AntiVillain: In manga, she more or less becomes this after having some [[CharacterDevelopment character development]]. Like Akame, she truly care about her comrades. Also, she agrees with Wave and Run that the empire needs to be changed for the better and fully supports Wave's campaign to change the Empire for within.
* ArentYouGoingToRavishMe: Played with. In Chapter 64, Wave unexpectedly BridalCarry Kurome before gentle placing her on his bed. Kurome reacts by blushing and closing her eyes in anticipation, only for Wave place a blanket over Kurome and tells her to get some rest. Kurome's facial expression implies that she's disappointed with the outcome.
* AvengingTheVillain: Well, AntiVillain anyways. [[spoiler:The reason she decides to brutally murder Chelsea is because she killed Bols and impersonated him to try and kill her]].
* AxCrazy: Not as much as Esdeath or Seryu, but still is quite unstable.
* BadassAdorable: Her allies and enemies alike take note of how cute she is until she cuts a group of soldiers to pieces in a single motion. She’s easily the second strongest Jaegar after [[WorldsBestWarrior General Esdeath]], capable on taking on the ''entire'' Night Raid with her [[{{Necromancer}} Yatsufusa]] and almost winning. She’s also the only person that can clash swords with [[OneHitKill Akame]] and come out unscathed with no allies or supernatural assistance.
* BadassBoast:
-->'''Kurome:''' It seems if you want to kill me... You’ll have to do something like squash my heart or separate my head from my body.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: The very fact that both Run and Wave treated her with kindness is one of the main reasons why Kurome is emotionally attached to them both. [[spoiler:[[SubvertedTrope This actually plays a role in Run turning into Kurome's corpse puppets]], though it also allows Wave to convince her to finally abandon the Empire and go into hiding with him.]]
* BigEater: She eats cookies like Akame eats meat.
* BlackEyesOfEvil: As her name implies, in contrast to [[RedEyesTakeWarning Akame]].
* BrokenBird: She was brainwashed from a young age, made forcibly addicted to super drugs and felt betrayed by her only family when her older sister defected the Empire. The result is that Kurome went from a normal little girl to a merciless and mentally disturbed soldier, to the point Akame believes the only way to free Kurome is by killing her. The only person who can make her act stable is Wave [[spoiler:and in the end, it all pays off when Wave's LoveConfession successfully restores Kurome's sanity]].
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: Averted.[[spoiler:If you're a remorseless murderer who decides to give up your life of crime, you're still going to remember all the horrible things you've done.]]
* CainAndAbel: Cain to Akame's Abel, mainly because she betrayed her and the Empire. [[spoiler:It's ultimately [[SubvertedTrope subverted]] in the manga when Wave intervenes in Akame and Kurome's final showdown, convincing Kurome to go into hiding with him, which leads to the sisters reconciling. The [[Anime/AkameGaKill anime]], on the other hand, plays it straight with Akame [[DeathByAdaptation killing Kurome]] in the equivalent scene]].
* CharacterDevelopment: She's initially introduced as the ruthless [[CuteAndPsycho psychopathic]] assassin who's main goal in life was being her older sister's [[TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou sole murderer]]. Eventually through her interactions within the [[TrueCompanions Jaegars]] and Wave's kindness she begins to show a [[WhenSheSmiles kinder and sweeter side]] behind closed doors. This change is lampshaded by Run, when she encounters Akame for the third time, announcing her intent to take her down for the sake of ''the people'', and not her deep-seated grudge towards her.
* ChekhovMIA: She is mentioned in the prehistory of Akame as her sister with who her forced to participate in a survival exam and also appears as an illusion in the battle with Zank before her direct introduction in the series.
* CirclingBirdies: Happens in one of the side story chapters when Wave helps her to reach an apple, but she hits her head in a tree branch, resulting circling stars around her head.
* ComfortFood: According to the bonus epilogue, Wave's seafood has become this for her, as she says she can't relax if she doesn't eat it every day.
* CovertPervert: There's multiple scenes that suggest she has a sexual interest in Wave, but doesn't make overt advances on him [[spoiler:until she kisses him when she thinks she might die in her last fight against Akame]].
* CrushBlush: Kurome tends to blush uncontrollably whenever she with Wave, it is actually pretty adorable.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: [[MeaningfulName Black eyes]] and hair.
* CuteAndPsycho: As cute and calm as she appears, one must not forget that she's one of the most psychopathic members of the Jaegers.
* CuteIsEvil: She's a cute young girl who has been brainwashed into becoming a SociopathicSoldier loyal to TheEmpire.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: She and Akame were abandoned by their parents after being sold to the Empire to be ChildSoldiers. However, [[TrainingFromHell unlike Akame]], Kurome was instead subjugated to rigorous experimentation and [[SuperSerum numerous drug enhancements]] in the Empire's quest to create a new SuperSoldier.
* DarkActionGirl: Being the darker equivalent to Akame. However, she devolves into a FauxActionGirl during the second half the manga.
* DarkIsEvil: Her hair, her eyes and her clothes are all black, and she is a {{Yandere}} psychopath who likes to play with body parts of dead people.
* DeathByAdaptation: [[spoiler:Her final battle with Akame in the manga ends with Wave [[BigDamnHeroes intervening]] and [[HeelFaceTurn convincing her to reform.]] In the anime, however, despite Wave's intervention, Kurome tells Wave that she wants to end this herself, and dies when Akame impales her on Murasame.]]
* DefrostingIceQueen: She didn't care very much for Wave in the beginning, but after Bolic's assassination, she opens more to him and became more friendly with him. She even confesses her fears to him. Their relationship became so close that Wave even [[spoiler:beat Syura to a nearly death state because he was intending to rape her.]] In the latest chapters, Kurome also shows a very large grade of affection for her teammate, playing with his pillows and blushing in his presence.
* DefusingTheTykebomb: Kurome was brainwashed since childhood to be absolutely loyal to the Empire and lack any other purpose in life. Wave tries to convince her to find something else to live for [[spoiler:and he even gets her to stop taking drugs and destroys Yatsufusa to free her. At the end, their love for each other is strong enough to convince Kurome to leave the Empire with Wave and live a peaceful life with him.]]
* {{Deuteragonist}}: She takes on this role in Zero.
* DissonantSerenity: She often goes into this state, particularly following her attempt to act like everything is fine with Wave after she [[spoiler:reanimates Run.]]
* EasilyForgiven: [[spoiler: Responsible for the death of possible hundreds of people, including Night Raid's Chelsea and fellow Jaeger, Run. In the case of Chelsea, not only did she cause Chelsea's extremely brutal death (though admittedly, [[KarmicDeath Chelsea tried to kill her first]] and [[AvengingTheVillain just killed Bols]]), but she also had Chelsea's corpse defiled by having [[DeadGuyOnDisplay her head placed on display]]. In the case of Run, she not only killed him, but also enslaved his corpse, something that many people consider to by a FateWorseThanDeath. Despite her (what would normally be considered "heinous" in a less grim setting than this series) actions against their friends, both the surviving members of Night Raid ''and'' Wave are surprising quick to forgive her for everything that she has done after Wave convinced her to defect from the Empire]].
** [[spoiler: Though she didn't kill Run in the anime (due to Wild Hunt being AdaptedOut), this trope is still subverted when she ''does'' die in the anime.]]
* EatingTheEyeCandy: In Chapter 62, she's quick to notice Wave's "swimmer's body" after taking off his shirt, and spent half of their conversation staring at his chest.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: As kids, her sister was marked #7 of the Empire's Elite Seven, a team of child assassins comprised of the top seven candidates of a survival test. Kurome, who was marked #8, wasn't good enough to be part of that elite team. To make up for this she ended up being injected with drugs that bolster her stats.
* EnemyMine: In the anime adaptation, Akame and Kurome's duel in episode 22 is interrupted by a Danger Beast that awakens during their fighting. They both stop fighting each other to deal with the creature, and as soon as it's dead, they go right back to fighting each other.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Her first onscreen appearance shows her sitting atop a mountain of corpses humming a melody to herself.
* EvenEvilCanBeLoved: Her older sister Akame still loves her despite how twisted Kurome became because of the Empire. Wave also has strong feelings for her and wants to protect her despite being disturbed by her evil tendencies.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes:
** The anime toned down a lot of her {{yandere}} personality and instead portrays her more as this, although {{deconstructed}}. [[spoiler: The reason Kurome wants [[TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou to kill Akame alone]] is because deep down inside, she deeply loves her sister. However, because both Kurome and Akame has taken different paths in their lives, they are forced to kill each other. This is apparently true in episode 22 where Kurome and Akame met each other for the last time where Kurome shared her Pocky sticks with Akame and a brief chat with each other (and even slept together). Akame also reveals that she wanted to kill Kurome because she too, loves her sister, and they decided to have their last duel to the death. In the end, Kurome lost the duel and dies to Akame's blade (in addition the poison from Chelsea that Kurome suffered earlier), which Kurome's death has caused Akame to [[TenderTears break down in tears]] because she feels Kurome's unconditional love to her and how much Akame loved her younger sister]].
** In addition to loving her sister, Akame, Kurome (mostly in the manga, but also hinted in the anime) does develop genuine feelings toward her teammate, Wave. [[spoiler:[[LoveRedeems In the manga, those feelings eventually lead her to joining him in abandoning the Empire]]. They don't help in the anime, however, as she tries to kill her sister again regardless and dies trying]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even she has found Wild Hunt being disgusting and agreed to help Run with his vendetta on the grounds that such scum like they are not able to help the Empire.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: She can't understand why Wave is upset [[spoiler:over her usage of Run as her newest corpse puppet. She also can't understand why he isn't happy about her ability to keep his body in existence to prevent the total loss of their friend and his disgust when she attempts to summon him to spend time together with them like back when he was alive.]]
* EvilCounterpart: Of Akame. Besides being sisters, she and Akame are extremely similar in alot of ways, from general looks to clothing choices, they both wield sword Teigus and they're both master swordswomen. The main difference is that Akame is still a good person at heart who got fed up with the Empire's corruption and became a rebel, while Kurome's [[PsychoSerum "training"]] appears to have made a real number on her psyche and now she doesn't have any problem with working for such a corrupt empire.
* ExtremeOmnivore: She's such a BigEater that when the Jaegars capture some new humanoid Dangerbeasts, Kurome starts salivating and approaches them hungrily. She only backs off when Esdeath orders her not to eat them. To make the scene squickier, those Dangerbeasts were former humans.
* FamilyThemeNaming: Same as her sister Akame, Kurome's name is indicative of her eye color.
* FauxActionGirl:
** During the second half of the manga. Kurome is given a lot of great CharacterDevelopment, but her fighting skills become sorely lacking after her first fight with Night Raid. She fails to protect [[spoiler: Bolic from Akame]], becomes a rape target for Syura, would have been killed by Wild Hunt's Cosmina and Enshin if Night Raid didn't arrive when they did, is forced to retreat from the rebellion's attack on the Dark Squad without killing any Teigu users, and her final fight with Akame is very one-sided (on Akame's side). She spend most of second half of the manga being the DamselInDistress and getting saved by Wave and Run. Though this is justified due to her GameBreakingInjury and the drugs she is taking (despite having given her the vitality to shrug off the actual would-be fatal injury at the time) slowly killing her with the long-term effects of said injury only accelerating the process. [[spoiler: In the anime, she even dies because of her weakened state, as despite her best efforts, she loses to Akame and is skewered on Murasame in the end.]]
** She doesn't fair much better in ''Zero'', having been the DamselInDistress two arcs in a row, and needing Akame and other members the Elite Seven to bail her out. Once again, this is somewhat justified since Kurome is in the early stages of career. At the very least, her performance is much better than the other members in the Group of Terror.
* FlunkyBoss: Her Teigu is March of the Dead: Yatsufusa, which allows her to enslave up to 8 enemies killed with the Teigu and use them in battle.
* FriendlyEnemy: While she wants to kill Akame for betraying the Empire, or more specifically, betraying her, she still claims that she loves her, even calling her "beloved older sister" when meeting with her.
* GameBreakingInjury: A rare villainous variant. After surviving an assassination attempt by [[spoiler:Chelsea via needles through the neck]], Kurome becomes visibly more tired and weaker in combat [[spoiler:due to her already drug-addled body getting weaker]]. A notable example is when she fought the entire Night Raid she was able to summon and control eight corpse puppets and still have the strength to fend off [[MasterSwordswoman Akame]] simultaneously while largely keeping the pace of the battle. After the failed assassination she can barely summon two puppets, [[spoiler:and is suffering from a potentially IncurableCoughOfDeath; thus ''losing'' a subsequent battle of speed against Akame, resulting in the death of Bolic.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:In the manga, she leaves the Empire and runs away with Wave to live a peaceful life with him. Subverted in the anime, as she never makes an attempt to turn, not even when Wave tries to intervene in her fight with Akame. Akame kills her in the ensuing battle.]]
* HeroKiller: She's the one who ultimately kills [[spoiler:Chelsea]].
* HiddenDepths: She confides to Wave that she’s afraid of being seen as weak because back in the Assassination Squad [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness those who are deemed weak are disposed of]].
* IfICantHaveYou: Kurome resorts to trying to kill Akame for choosing Night Raid over her.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: [[spoiler:Akame ends her life in the anime by stabbing her through the gut with Murasame, killing her almost instantly.]]
* KarmaHoudini: Depending on your point of view (see KarmaHoudiniWarranty). Despite Kurome killing a lot of people including [[spoiler: Chelsea and Run]], '''everybody''' is pretty quick to forgive her. She is [[spoiler: one of few characters to survive the series [[DeathByAdaptation at least in the manga]], is given a devoted boyfriend, and doesn't suffer any formal punishment for her many crimes]]. The series tries to justify this by pointing out that she was BrainwashedAndCrazy, but this was rendered moot when [[spoiler: the Emperor was executed despite suffering from a greater form of BrainwashedAndCrazy]].
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: Akame was pretty willing to forgive Kurome [[spoiler:after her HeelFaceTurn]], despite the fact that she killed a good number of people, including [[spoiler:Akame's teammate]]. But Kurome doesn't come out completely fine, however; [[spoiler:she ends up suffering from PTSD, and it's implied that she'll die at a young age without continuous treatment, thanks to her years of constant drugging]].
* KillingIntent: Has a the massive one during the murder of Chelsea.
* LaughingMad: She giggles creepily anytime she fights Akame.
* LivingDollCollector: Her weapons allow her to convert those who was killed by her into undead puppets under her command.
* LoveRedeems:
** In the manga, [[spoiler:Wave's love for her leads to Kurome defecting from the Empire and giving up her murderous {{Yandere}} tendencies to live a peaceful life with him.]]
** In the anime, [[spoiler:this is subverted, as while she reveals to Wave that she ''does'' like him, she can't move on until either she or Akame dies. The one who dies in the ensuing duel is Kurome, skewered on Murasame.]]
* LustObject: Syura seems very fixated on wanting to rape Kurome.
* MasterSwordswoman: When you can fight off another Master Swordsman that's wielding a OneHitKill katana you're more than qualified.
* MeaningfulName: "Kurome" literally means "black eyes".
* MercyKill: She delivers this to an unsuspecting [[spoiler:dying Run, in an effort to keep him "alive", ultimately enslaving and reanimating him with her Yatsufusa into one of her newest corpse puppets.]]
* MundaneUtility: A rather darkly comedic version of this. [[spoiler:Basically, after she reanimates a dying Run into one of her corpse puppets with Yatsufusa, she then suggests using it to summon him to spend time together with them as they did back when he was alive. For example, like when it's time to eat cake.]]
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: As an assassin, killing comes with the territory but Kurome takes it a step further due to her damaged mindset and has killed more than one friend so that she can revive them as a zombie. One reason why she wants to kill Akame is so that she can turn her sister into a loyal zombie. Practically any problem for Kurome is asking for someone to be killed by her sword.
* NotQuiteDead: Chelsea finds this out the hard way after she tries to assassinate Kurome by stabbing her in the neck, only to find out that she merely wounded her.
* NowOrNeverKiss: She kisses Wave in Chapter 64, [[TheBigDamnKiss all but stating her feelings for him in the process]], [[spoiler:before knocking him out to keep him from interfering with her potential final battle with [[OneHitKill Akame]]]].
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:In Chapter 66, Wave confesses his love to her and she agrees to run away from the Empire with him. In the epilogue, they're living together at some hot springs as a couple.]]
* OminousHairLoss: Later in the series, Kurome's health deteriorates to the point she needs to be bedridden. When Wave gives her an AffectionateGestureToTheHead, the hair that falls into his hand is what makes Kurome know she won't last much longer. [[spoiler:Fortunately, Wave takes her away to give her the treatment she needs to live longer.]]
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: She is very adamant about being the only person who may deliver her sister's death by her own hands. Needless to say, the feeling is mutual.
* OptOut: [[spoiler:In the manga, she does not finish her final battle with Akame due to Wave's interference. With his support, Kurome chooses to abandon her past and the Empire to run away with Wave.]]
* PastExperienceNightmare: In the manga epilogue, [[spoiler:Wave says Kurome keeps having nightmares where she sees the people she killed. Najenda thinks this is the sign that Kurome's mind is finally returning to normal.]]
* PeacefulInDeath: She dies in that way in anime after Akame impales her.
* PetTheDog: WordOfGod says her refusal to share her treats is this, since she doesn't want anyone else getting drugged.
* PsychoForHire: She was trained as an assassin just like Akame. Unlike Akame she completely buys into the MoreThanMindControl that was fed to her.
* PsychoSerum: It's later revealed the [[spoiler:"cookies"]] Kurome always consumes is actually a new type of drug developed by the Empire to forcibly enhance their soldiers and [[HorrorHunger she's become addicted to them.]]
* PsychoticSmirk: Quite often.
* PsychopathicWomanchild: She is displays an quite unstable psychological condition, referring to the corpses of others people as a "toys", showing quite frightening attachment to her fallen comrades by keeping them as her puppets and generally demonstrating rather childish behavior for both enemies and allies.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: She wears a black sailor uniform with a red ribbon and a red belt that has a red side skirt cover. She's also a psychotic assassin of the Empire and a {{Yandere}} who enjoys turning the people she "loves" into one of her puppets.
* RescueRomance: They had some ShipTease before the fact, but she begins to openly show her feelings for Wave after he saves her from [[spoiler:getting raped by Syura]].
* RetiredBadass: In the manga, [[spoiler:Wave gets to convince Kurome to resign from the Empire and run away with him. In the epilogue, they are living peacefully together, even if Kurome is still suffering from her guilt of what she did when she worked for the Empire.]]
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: While she was already going to kill [[spoiler:Chelsea]] in self-defense, the realization that [[spoiler:Chelsea killed Bols]] makes Kurome visibly enraged, leading to [[spoiler:Chelsea]]'s [[FamilyUnfriendlyDeath horrifying death]].
* SanityStrengthening: [[spoiler:Wave's love and devotion restores Kurome's mental health to the point she decides to leave the Empire with him and she makes up with Akame.]]
* ShellShockedVeteran: [[spoiler:She has nightmares of the people she's killed following her HeelFaceTurn.]]
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: She has developed some very obvious feelings towards Wave, who is quite possibly one of the nicest characters in the cast.
* SuperReflexes: Fast enough to dodge a sniper rifle shot from ''miles away''.
* SweetTooth: She has a penchant for sweets, especially cookies.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: She has a giant bag of cookies that she carries around wherever goes just to snack upon. [[spoiler:PlayedForDrama with the reveal that those cookies are [[PsychoSerum enhancing drugs]] that she's addicted to.]]
* TragicVillain: She and Akame were abandoned by their parents after being sold to the Empire and forced to participate in a survival exam in a forest full of danger beasts. After the sisters survived by working together, they were drafted into different assassination divisions. After joining her division, Kurome was subjected to cruel treatment as well as forced to ingest experimental drugs, and subjugated to rigorous experimentation. In the end, all this to have made a real number on her psyche and made of her a perfect soldier fulfilling any order of the Empire.
* TsurimeEyes: Not quite as often as her more business-like sister, Akame, but when the time calls for it, Kurome's eyes are noticeably sharp and focused.
* {{Tykebomb}}: She was raised and trained since childhood to be a soldier for the Empire. It goes to the point that Kurome sees no meaning in her life other than fighting for the Empire. [[spoiler:Wave eventually manages to [[DefusingTheTykebomb free her from this thinking]]]].
* UncannyFamilyResemblance: She and her sister look nearly identical except for the hairstyle and eye color.
* UndyingLoyalty: To the Empire and her fallen comrades. She explains that the main reason why she didn't leave the Empire together with Akame is that by making it she would betray the memory of her comrades who died in the name of the Empire.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: In her backstory presented both in the original manga and in Zero. She was shocked with the deaths of other children in the forest test and felt ill after being forced to kill a prisoner. Contrast with what she is now.
* VillainDecay: See FauxActionGirl above. She started as a worthy threat capable on taking on the entire Night Raid with her Yatsufusa but as the series continued, her threat level has fallen very much compared with her first appearance.
* {{Yandere}}: Her idea of loving someone, due to her DarkAndTroubledPast, is turning them into one of her corpse puppets. The only exception to this is seemingly [[MoralityPet Wave]]. In [[spoiler:Run's]] case, it was because she felt like they didn't know each other well enough.

!!!Teigu:Yatsufusa
* EliteMooks: Especially [[TheDragon Natala]] and Destaghoul.
** Destaghoul: An [[{{Kaiju}} Ultra Class Danger Beast]] that's nothing but [[DemBones an old skeleton given life]] but still wields [[TheDreaded the terrifying power]] it wielded in its previous life and is capable of firing a massive BreathWeapon that's powerful enough to ''alter the terrain''.
** General Rokgough: A previous general of the Empire that was [[DoubleAgent exposed trying to betray the Empire and join the Revolutionary Army]]. Wields a whip so masterfully that even Leone's SuperSenses can't keep up with its movements. Despite this, he was just a [[BadassNormal normal human]] in life.
** Hentarr: A [[LastOfHisKind survivor of the Ban Tribes]] and a target even Kurome [[WakeUpCallBoss admits to having difficulty in obtaining]]. [[LivingShadow Able to move through shadows]] and strike opponents in vital areas [[FragileSpeedster while dodging blows and retreating to the shadows.]] Works in conjunction with Apeman for a devastating combo.
** Apeman: A Danger Beast that is noted to be a favorite for Kurome since he is [[DumbMuscle easy to use]]. Uses his new found undead body to NoSell attacks and [[LightningBruiser deliver fast and powerful blows]]. [[DualBoss Works in conjunction with Hentarr]].
** Woll: A famous guardsman that happened to be killed by Kurome when he was protecting a target of hers. Uses [[TakingTheBullet his own body]] to take blows for teammates when opponents get around his [[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe giant riot shield]].
** Doya: A {{Gunslinger}} assassin sent from the Northern tribes [[PerpetualSmiler that wears a constant smirk on her face.]] She is very quick and fights using GunsAkimbo.
** Natala: Kurome and Akame's childhood friend that died sometime before the story began. He guards Kurome during Yatsufusa's activation since [[AttackItsWeakPoint Kurome is busy manipulating several other puppets]] simultaneously. Kurome quite confident in his abilities, stating he's ''10 times'' stronger than [[TheBrute Apeman]]. He fights using an extending spear.
** Kaiser Frog: The most recent addition to Kurome’s collection. A giant frog that uses its long tongue to drag prey into its highly acidic stomach.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: At the beginning of the series, Tatsumi says there could be a Teigu that have the ability to resurrect dead people. Yatsufusa has said power, although it not have the effect Tatsumi refers...
* {{Necromancer}}: Those killed by Yatsufusa are enslaved and can be reanimated by the user whenever they enter combat.
* RedBaron: March of the Dead: Yatsufusa.
* TheUndead: What will happen to those who are killed by Yatsufusa. All skills and abilities the victim had in life are retained, but they are under Kurome's complete control. They are left as little more than flesh and blood puppets.

An intimidating, masked member of the Empire's Incineration Squad. Before joining the Jaegars, Bols's duty was to wipe out whole villages, burning troublesome buildings and populations to the ground in the name of the Empire. When not on duty, Bols is a compassionate family man with a loving wife and daughter he adores.

His Teigu is Purgatory's Invitation: Rubicante, a powerful flamethrower whose flames could not be extinguished, even by water.
----
* AffablyEvil: He was the member of Incineration Squad and his job was to wipe out whole villages, burning troublesome buildings and populations to the ground in the name of the Empire. He also is a very kind and caring person when not on duty and has a loving wife and daughter.
* AlasPoorVillain: After a long battle against the Night Raid he is ultimately dispatched by [[spoiler:Chelsea, who takes the form of a little girl who was once a citizen of a village Bols burned to ashes. He dies crawling to the memory of his wife and child.]]
-->'''Bols:''' I have to return home... Because they are both waiting... I have to return...
* AllForNothing: Bols fights for the empire to give his wife and daughter a good safe life. [[spoiler:After his death, they are both raped and murdered by a faction of the empire he swore to protect. [[NothingIsScarier What happened to them is apparently so horrible a soldier tells Wave not to take the sheet off their corpses for his own sanity.]]]]
* AntiVillain: Firmly believes karma will catch up to him for his actions. He still does his job for the sake of his wife and child.
* BeingEvilSucks: He is well aware that his actions are terrible and has a horrible self-image as a result. Even so, he does his job to put food on the table.
* TheBrute: Bols is the physically strongest member of the Jaegers.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: Exploited. Chelsea takes on the appearance of a girl whose village was burned down by Bols on suspicion of treason, [[BatmanGambit fully counting on him not being able to recognize her because he incinerated the villagers in groups]], in order to lure him into her trap and kill him. From Bols' perspective, he was seeing a crying child in need of help, which leads him to drop his guard and allow Chelsea to assassinate him with a needle to the spinal column.
* DeathByIrony: He met his end in an attempt to help a little girl who was from a village that he burned.
* DontYouDarePityMe: A gentle example, he kindly rebuffs any sympathy expressed toward him because he does not feel he deserves it, given that his job requires him to be a mass murderer.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He genuinely loves his wife and daughter even when he was about to die, he bitterly regretted his inability to return to them.
* TheFaceless: We never see his face. The anime does not directly show his face, but closeups and a shot from behind show that he is blond and blue-eyed.
* FaceOfAThug: Between the scary mask, massive body and grizzly scars, people are surprised to find Bols is actually a really sweet guy.
* FamilyMan: He has a loving wife and daughter. Both love him greatly and he love them in return.
* FreakyFashionMildMind: Despite wearing a creepy mask that freaks out nearly anyone he meets, Bols is actually a really nice guy and one of the most sympathetic villains in the series.
* FriendToAllChildren: In addition to having a child of his own, he goes out of his way to care for a lost and injured girl. [[spoiler:Sadly, it's that compassion that gets him killed.]]
* GenreBlindness: Lets face it, the moment he started talking about [[spoiler:his happy family, we knew he was doomed.]]
* GentleGiant: He has the most scary appearance among the Jaegers but also he is the one of the least evil members of the group.
* TheGiant: He's the tallest the Jaegers member.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: He has a scar across his chest that looks like claw marks. They signify he is a tough guy who apparently has tangled with dangerous creatures in the past and survived.
* HappilyMarried: He has a wife and a daughter who love him as much as he loves them (i.e. very deeply), to the shock of everyone else in the group.
* HiddenDepths: Despite his appearance and his job he is a very kind and caring person when not on duty and also has a beautiful [[FamilyMan wife and daughter]].
* {{Hunk}}: He's the biggest character in the Jaegers and was called good-looking without a mask.
* JustFollowingOrders: Averted. Wave tries to use this trope like an excuse for him but Bols denies it, saying that sins are sins and that one day karma will catch up to him for his actions.
* KarmicNod: He accepts his death at the hands of Chelsea like a karmic retribution for all the sins that he committed.
* LaserGuidedKarma: He sees his death at the hands of Chelsea like this.
* NecessarilyEvil: How he looks at his job.
* NiceGuy: If it wasn't for his [[PunchClockVillain occupation]] Bols would be the nicest character in the series.
* NoSocialSkills: He actually quite shy and timid man, as he made a long pause before first introducing himself to Wave.
* PlayingWithFire: As part of the Incineration Squad.
* PunchClockVillain: Despite having a job that entails burning down entire cities, innocents included, he still views it as a job.
* ShoutOut:
** Big muscular guy carrying a {{BFG}} attached to a huge barrel backpack? Are we talking about [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid Vulcan Raven]]?
** In a way, he's a saner version of [[Characters/TeamFortress2Offense a certain Pyromaniac]] we know and love...just with more muscle and less mumbling.
* ShrinkingViolet: The first time Wave meets him, Bols is so nervous that he just stares silently at him until several other Jaegars show up.
* SuperStrength: He can beat Danger Beasts into submission with his bare hands.
* SupremeChef: He is noted by Wave to be an excellent chef, often making the meals eaten by the Jaegars.
* TakingYouWithMe: When he has his back to a corner he triggers a massive explosion in a last ditch attempt to kill Night Raid. Subverted in that Bols and even his targets survive.
* TragicVillain: He carry out severe executions by burning his victims to death or burning down entire villages in the name of the Empire, but he does it in the first place for the sake of his family and also well aware of what makes horrible things and believes that at some point in time he would have to pay for these atrocities.
* UnquenchableFire: The flames of Rubicante will not go out even if the victim submerges themselves in water, dooming them to a slow, painful death by burning if they aren't immediately reduced to charcoal.
* WouldHitAGirl: He had no problem with it, when he had tried to kill Leone and Akame.
* WouldHurtAChild: Considering that Chelsea was pretended the child from the village which was burned by Bols, he is quite capable of such.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: He takes down some Danger Beasts with lariats and suplexes.

!!!Teigu:Rubicante
* {{Fireballs}}: Aside from functioning as a standard flamethrower, Rubicante can also fire highly-concentrated fireballs as a long-range attack.
* FireBreathingWeapon: Rubicante is a flamethrower can expel flames so hot that [[{{Hellfire}} even water can’t extinguish it]].
* {{Hellfire}}: The fire of Rubicante cannot be extinguished with water, leaving the poor soul who is burned by him in a large agony.
* KillItWithFire: Can spew seemingly endless flames that burn hotter than normal flames and cannot be extinguished by water. These flames have reduced many villages and people to nothing.
* RedBaron: Purgatory's Invitation: Rubicante
* SelfDestructMechanism: Rubicante's tank can be detonated via a button switch, causing a massive explosion. This of course will destroy Rubicante, and should only be used when absolutely desperate.

-->''"In the name of absolute justice, I shall make evil pay, here and now!"''
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KanaHanazawa (Japanese), Creator/KiraVincentDavis (English), Victoria Funes Grimaux (Latin American Spanish)
A young Imperial Guards soldier recruited by Esdeath as a member of the Jaegars. The impressionable Seryu was personally trained by Imperial Guard Captain Ogre and holds an overwhelming sense of loyalty to justice. Upholding the law and punishing "criminals" without mercy, Seryu makes it her mission to rid the Empire of villainous forces.

Her Teigu is Magical Beast Transformation: Hekatonkheires, a biological type that takes the form of a small dog nicknamed "Koro" that could grow to enormous size and strength.
----
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: In Episode 2 of the anime, she can be seen in Ogre's entourage. With the same scene in Chapter 3 of the manga, the guards are too indistinctly drawn to be positively identified.
* AffablyEvil: Despite her ruthless behavior when she fights her enemies and evildoers, she is pretty nice and friendly towards her allies and the people of the Empire.
* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler:Once she notices that Koro isn't able to regenerate anymore after [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe he got sliced in half by Mine]] earlier before her, she despairs over the fact that she hasn't even finished purging all of the "evil" yet and makes a tearful plea not to die "in a place like this" (in her case, in the valley located away from the imperial capital) before the bomb inside her head explodes. To top it off, the chapter in which she dies ends with the kids she'd made a habit of playing soccer with coming to the field where they'd hang out, only to wonder why she's not there.]]
* AllCrimesAreEqual: Kills a bunch of petty thieves based on this philosophy.
* AlmightyJanitor: She is this before joining to the Jaegers. Despite the fact that she with her Teigu could fight on an equal footing with two members of Night Raid having Teigu and to emerge victorious from such battle, she was ordinary Imperial Guards soldier.
* AmbiguouslyBi: She does have her moments with Esdeath and generally doesn't seem all that interested in boys. [[spoiler:Indeed, in her final moments, after thinking about Esdeath, she started crying and pleading how she did not want to die]]. However, she also has a few moments like when she blushes at Wave when he puts a hand on her shoulder [[spoiler:when she had gotten ahead of him and killed some rebels without questioning them]].
* AntiVillain: She actually fights for the safety of the common people. The only problem is that she blindly follows the Empire to the point where she is reduced to a weapon.
* ArchEnemy:
** Night Raid became the one to her after they killed her master, Captain Ogre.
** She also became the one to Mine after she killed Sheele.
* AnArmAndALeg: After she trips during a fight with Sheele, she loses her grip on one of her tonfas. As Sheele moves in with an attack, Seryu puts her arms out in front to protect her body, though she loses both of her arms in the process.
* ArtificialLimbs: After [[AnArmAndALeg losing both of her arms]] to Sheele.
* AvengingTheVillain: Her initial motive to fight Night Raid is to avenge the death of her master, Ogre, at the hands of Tatsumi. [[spoiler: Later she also wants to avenge Stylish, who perishes in his battle with Night Raid.]]
* AxCrazy: Very much so. When fighting she's constantly got a SlasherSmile on her face and half of her dialogue, both in and out of combat, relates to murdering evildoers.
* BadassAdorable: Subverted. In normal condition, she looks pretty cute but during the battle, she completely loses adorable part.
* BadassArmFold: She holds this as her default stance when she's in combat.
* BadassBoast: Read her phrase at the beginning of her article.
* BadassTransplant: Thanks to modifications from Dr. Stylish.
* BaitTheDog: She is first shown as a nice girl with a tragic backstory of losing her parents and a strong belief in justice. She is even shown getting along with one of the Night Raid members (unknowingly) and helping out citizens of the Empire. She is also shown being a lab rat for the Empire's research. All this makes her seem TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth. [[spoiler:Then comes the reveal that Seryu is a bloodthirsty [[AxCrazy psychopath]] who murdering anyone who stands against the Empire. Her upbringing led her to believe that [[BlackAndWhiteInsanity the Empire is the side of justice and anyone who stands against it deserves to die, no matter how small their part]].]]
* TheBeastmaster: Her Teigu is Magical Beast Transformation that takes the form of a small dog nicknamed "Koro" that could grow to enormous size and help her in battle.
* {{BFS}}: #3: Which also serves as her BladeBelowTheShoulder.
* BlackAndWhiteInsanity: You are with the Empire? You're good, no matter how corrupt or heinous you are. You are against it in any way? You're evil and must be killed, no matter what the circumstances were.
* BlindObedience: As Mine put it, she turns a blind eye to the obvious corruption and cruelty her beloved empire commits because of her devotion.
* BodyHorror: She willingly undergoes a painful experiment at Captain Ogre's persuasion to have [[spoiler:machine guns surgically implanted into her arms. This is taken a step further when she can sprout a gun ''from her throat''.]]
* BossInMookClothing: During her time in the Imperial Guard Forces.
* ChekhovsGunman: She has EarlyBirdCameo in 3 chapter before her proper introduction in the series.
* CatchPhrase: [[MemeticMutation Justice]].
* CheshireCatGrin: Her smiles during the battles is rather off-putting.
* CoolBigSis: She tries to become this for Tatsumi when told that he'll be joining their group, patting him on the head and saying that he's amongst good people. It takes the danger of being found out to keep Tatsumi from cursing her out. Later she became this to a group of children in Kyoroch.
* CrazyPrepared: Of all the characters of Akame ga Kill, probably Seryu is the one who has the most resources and special moves. Before her heavy modifications, she had a pair of tonfas that can shoot bullets and [[DisabilitySuperpower cutting her arms only reveals more guns]], and that's without counting Koro's abilities. After being modified by Stylish, she had an [[HyperspaceArsenal entire arsenal]] for her inside Koro, including a giant sword, a [[ThisIsADrill giant drill]] that can explode, a [[SniperRifle rifle]], a [[EpicFlail giant flail]] and a [[MacrossMissileMassacre pair of missiles]], amongst other things (a hook and a radar), and combining some of them, she can shoot a [[MoreDakka rain of missiles]] with major destructive capabilities. Also, she has been trained physically by Ogre and has a considerable strength that was increased by her mechanical arms. As if that not were enough, she had three trump cards, the first being her Teigu (Berserk), a [[HiddenWeapons gun inside her throat]] that she claims that was a gift from Ogre and can be used to do surprise attacks, and the last one, given to her by Dr. Stylish, a suicide bomb of incredible radius inside her brain, which is used as a last resort in a desperate situation. The only reason why she didn't kill Mine in her second battle was due to an external factor in the fight [[spoiler: (Tatsumi).]]
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: She's normally a carefree GenkiGirl, but when it comes to fighting she's deadly and ruthless.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Orange eyes and hair. In the anime, they're more brown colored.
* CuteAndPsycho: Very cute girl on the outside with a ''very'' twisted conception of right and wrong.
* CuteIsEvil: She looks pretty cute on the outside but she also is a [[AxCrazy crazy]] KnightTemplar who think that all those who break the law or oppose the Empire are deserving of death.
* {{Cyborg}}: She started with some ''small'' modifications in her body like guns inserted in her arms and throat. After her fight with Sheele and Mine, she gains metal limbs and obtains more body modifications, being capable of even launching rockets.
* DarkActionGirl: She's vicious and brutal when she's out to "eradicate evil", always with a crazy SlasherSmile in her face.
* DeadpanSnarker: Not always, but she has a tendency to make blunt, rude and disrespectful comments to her enemies during the battle.
-->'''Seryu:''' (to Mine) Are you feeling better, now that you've let that all out? All you've done is give Koro time to regenerate. Evil is so foolish.
* DeathGlare: She loves to give them to her opponents during the battle.
* DefiantToTheEnd: She gets [[spoiler:[[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe sliced in half]] by Mine's Teigu and she [[TakingYouWithMe still tries to kill Mine]] by [[HavingABlast detonating a bomb inside her head]] before she dies. [[SenselessSacrifice It fails big time.]]]]
* {{Determinator}}: Considering the fact that she was ready to go on a very painful experiment of allowing Dr. Stylish to implant weapons into her body in order to better punish evildoers and also considering how much damage she gets in her battles to go down, she definitely is it.
* DisabilitySuperpower: Her body is filled with weapons, so removing her limbs isn't a good idea.
* DisproportionateRetribution: In the one moment Seryu is standing before two men and a woman all tied up, who claim they aren't part of Night Raid. They say that they simply stole food to survive, and haven't even killed anyone. Seryu then tells them that they admitted to stealing, and has Coro eat the two men. The woman begs for a fair trial, claiming the men forced her to help. Seryu in her turn tells that she just as guilty as other and kills her with a sword instead.
* DissonantSerenity: When Wave calls out Seryu for killing a bunch of petty thieves due to her twisted sense of justice, she with a calm smile claims that they were evildoers anyway and they just must continue to destroy all evil in the name of justice.
* DontYouDarePityMe: Mine expresses pity for Seryu being so broken and insane. This just makes Seryu even angrier at her.
* TheDragon: Within the Jaegers, she is this to Esdeath. This is made even more clear in the manga, where Esdeath considers her a protege and [[spoiler: remarks that her death was such a waste.]]
* DramaticIrony: In one of the manga chapters of the special volume (the 1.5), she makes a cameo capturing the men that Tonto contracted to kill Nea (who Leone had knocked down previously) and says that only good people would have done such a good thing. Those people were Night Raid, who she later sees as evil, and who she hunts in order to avenge Ogre's death.
* DynamicEntry: Her way of appearance in front of Mine and Sheele.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Before her proper introduction in the series, [[http://36.media.tumblr.com/bec6e553ce0f1d46d624107629fdef77/tumblr_n8o40lrWQM1s8ofvio1_1280.jpg she is seen along a group of Imperial Guards during Ogre's presentation]].
* EpicFlail: #1: Shinkou's Ball of Justice.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: She sincerely loved her father who was killed by revolutionaries. She also loved and highly respected Ogre the Demon and Dr. Stylish, and was heavily anguished by they death as well.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even she felt that [[HidingBehindReligion Borick]] was a pig not worth the Jaegars' protection.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Zig Zagged. She is well understands of the concept of good and even defends her own the concept of justice. However, because of her BlackAndWhiteInsanity she can't see good in her opponents so when Mine escaped away from the battlefield because Sheele told her to do it, Seryu interprets this as if she had abandoned her comrade and left her to dying.
* EvilLaugh: Quite often.
* EvilMakesYouUgly: She looks pretty cute in her usual condition but every time she in the battle or starts speaking about justice, her face distort into a warped and demented grimace.
* EvilIsHammy: Definitely is this although she don't consider herself evil.
* EvilRedhead: She doesn't view herself as evil, but she's one of the most brutal and twisted members of the Jaegars.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: Very cute girl on the outside with a streak of emotional instability on the inside.
* FelonyMisdemeanor: She is kills a bunch of petty thieves because they simply stole food to survive, and even kills the woman who helped a group only because she was forced to do so against her will.
* FieryRedhead: She has a very bombastic personality to go with her hair color.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Esdeath. Both of them inherited their basic philosophy from their fathers ([[SocialDarwinist Social Darwinism]] with Esdeath and JusticeWillPrevail with Seryu) and both have lost their fathers from their future enemys (the Northern Tribes with Esdeath and the Revolutionary Army with Seryu). But Esdeath was never interested in revenge to the killers of her father since believed that his death was the natural order of things in the world and her the cruelty to the Northern Tribes was only a consequence her natural sadism. While Seryu was in the first place motivated by revenge to "evildoers" at the hands of whose her father died and her subsequent confrontation with Night Raid also motivated by revenge only this time for Ogre the Demon and Dr. Stylish whose were killed by them. Both of them work for an Empire but Esdeath is CardCarryingVillain who well aware of how corrupt the Empire is, but doesn't care as long as she [[BloodKnight can enjoying the fights]] and satisfy her need for bloodshed. While Seryu is KnightTemplar who doesn't know of how much corrupt the Empire is and [[ObliviouslyEvil truly believes that she is on the side of the good guys]]. And both of them are AxCrazy womens who are obviously enjoys the battles but Esdeath during the battle, preserves her TheStoic behavior and enjoys [[{{Sadist}} how much suffering she causes to her opponents]]. Seryu on the other hand is LargeHam during the battle and enjoys the fact of [[SmitingEvilFeelsGood destruction evildoers]], but not how much suffering she causes them.
** She also serves as one for Bols. Both of them work for an Empire and are members of the Jaegers. But Bols is PunchClockVillain who sees his work as NecessarilyEvil and has a horrible self-esteem as a result. Seryu on the other hand is KnightTemplar who considers her actions as absolutely justified and [[ObliviouslyEvil sees herself as an warrior of justice]]. Both of them confronted with Night Raid but Bols [[NothingPersonal has nothing personal against them]] and fighting against them just for the sake of his wife and child. While all of the people important to Seryu are were killed by revolutionaries and Night Raid and for her [[ItsPersonal it's personal]]. Both of them also have an external contrast with each other so Bols despite his grizzly appearance is a [[FreakyFashionMildMind very kind and caring person]] while Seryu despite her seemingly a very kind personality, is [[FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon ruthless, psychotic and unstable]].
* FriendToAllChildren: Seryu spends her off time playing soccer with the children in the capital.
* GenkiGirl: When she is in her normal mood, she is lively and energetic. For example, when she meets Tatsumi for first time, she happily announces her name and reveals that Coro is a Teigu without any problem.
* GivingSomeoneThePointerFinger: She uses this trope two times; the first time is when she confronts Sheele and Mine and tells them that she wants to avenge Ogre's death at the hands of Night Raid. The second one is in her fight with Mine when she says to her that [[spoiler: Koro had devoured Chelsea's body.]]
* HairTriggerTemper: She is very aggressive with things related to justice. In fact, committing a ''any'' crime in her presence is probably the most dangerous thing you can do.
* HalfTheWomanSheUsedToBe: She gets sliced in half by [[spoiler:Mine's Teigu.]] Although that doesn't kill her.
* HeroKiller: She manages to kill [[spoiler:Sheele]], but she doesn't get out of the encounter [[AnArmAndALeg unscathed]].
* HiddenDepths: She may be a KnightTemplar with a AxCrazy tendency who think AllCrimesAreEqual, but she's have a soft spot for [[FriendToAllChildren children]].
* HiddenWeapons: She has the barrel of a gun hidden ''in her mouth''.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: She believes that [[DirtyCop Captain Ogre]] and [[MadScientist Dr. Stylish]] were genuinely good people.
* HumanizingTears: She cries many times for her fallen friends and loved ones, showing that while she is merciless towards "villains", she isn't a monster.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Gets called out on this during her second fight with Mine. Despite Seryu championing justice above all else, she's turned a willful blind eye to all the corruption of the empire she serves. Even her beloved mentor, who she is trying to avenge, was a corrupt cop, and her "savior", Dr. Stylish, was a flat-out CardCarryingVillain of a MadScientist.
* ImplacableWoman: Well, let's see. Cutting off her hands didn't stop her. Cutting off guns surgically implanted into her arms also was not enough to stop her. Getting a few bullets in her belly also was not enough. And even when she was sliced in half by Mine, she still tries to kill Mine by detonating a bomb inside her head.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Helped a group of bandits because you were forced to? Just as guilty as they were in Seryu's eyes.
* InspectorJavert: Basically the love child of Inspector Javert with {{Franchise/Terminator}}.
* ItsPersonal: To Night Raid since they was responsible for General Ogre's death and later for Dr. Stylish's death.
* JudgeJuryAndExecutioner: She takes upon herself such powers when decides to kill a bunch of petty thieves without any trial and investigation.
* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: The point of her character, according to the creator - each tragic loss in her life drives her further into insanity and perpetuating the very evil she claims to fight against. The constant cybernetic upgrades she gives herself is a physical manifestation of this, showing her gradually losing her humanity and becoming more machine-like.
* JusticeWillPrevail: Her philosophy. If only she knew what kind of people Night Raid assassinated and who her "saviors" truly were...
* KickTheDog: During her second battle with Mine she takes time to mocking Mine about her two comrades who were devoured by Koro and proceeding to say she'd suffer the same fate.
* KnightTemplar: A very dark kind. For Seryu, all those who break the law or oppose the Empire are deserving of death.
* LackOfEmpathy: At least to those whom she considers evildoers. She has stated that evil deserves no mercy, and anyone who has committed even the smallest crime - regardless of their reasons - are evildoers who must die.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Sheele gets ripped into half by Seryu's Teigu, Coro. Mine returns the favor to Seryu by using her Teigu as a LaserBlade.
* LargeHam: Every time she talks about justice, she gives a speech about it and how she will wipe out evildoers.
* LaughingMad: After she kills [[spoiler: Sheele]], she starts to laugh happily, despite [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction the fact that both of her arms were cut]].
* LetsGetDangerous: Sweet and bubbly normally, but when she is "administering justice," a sadistic and cruel personality takes over.
* LogicalWeakness: A massive arsenal of equally massive weapons is daunting and all, but Mine, [[TurnsRed who grows stronger the more danger she's in]], is the last opponent Seryu wants to unload on. Koro's presence just makes Mine even stronger, [[spoiler:causing both to die at her hands.]]
* LuminescentBlush: She tends to have these when she is not being a raving psycho, especially around Esdeath.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: #2, #6 and #8, with #2 serving as four missiles that [[MoreDakka split and turn into an even larger volley of missiles]].
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: She gets ''both'' her arms cut off and all she does is hysterically giggle over the fact that she [[EatenAlive defeated]] the evil villain. It's quite disturbing.
* MeaningfulName: Her last name refers to something that is felt everywhere, or omnipresent. This definition accurately depicts her feelings about her brand of ''justice''.
* MirrorCharacter: To Tatsumi. They are both young people with a great sense of justice who care for the weak, both mercilessly kill those who they consider evil, and both show a great affection towards their beloved ones to a point of claiming revenge for them (Tatsumi kills Aria when he discovers that she and her family were responsible for the deaths of Sayo and Ieyasu [[spoiler: and later he tries to avenge Sheele's death]], and Seryu kills [[spoiler: Sheele]] in revenge for Ogre's death at the hands of Night Raid).
* MoralMyopia: Completely fails to recognize the flagrant evil in her mentors (and herself) while spouting on about bringing justice to "evildoers".
* MultiMeleeMaster[=/=]MultiRangedMaster: Her personal armory held within [[HyperspaceArsenal Koro]], Judgement of the Ten Heavenly Kings, created by [[GadgeteerGenius Dr. Stylish]] that serve as extra modifications to her body that she can wield in the midst of battle.
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: Her view of justice looks like this.
-->'''Seryu:''' If you are committed evil even once, only death awaits to you.
* NeverHurtAnInnocent: Well, if more accurately those whom she considers innocent but there is no doubt that she cares for the safety of the people of the Empire, so before she decides to attack an Tatsumi and Mine in a ruins, she firstly became convinced that the vicinity there were no civilians.
* NightmareFace: During battles, her expression changes from a normal face to a really creepy one accompanied with a big {{slasher smile}}. However, the face she makes when she [[spoiler: shoots Sheele in the back]] deserves a [[https://33.media.tumblr.com/0da5708777c8a0003f1a0bd99817e124/tumblr_na4pwwTNZX1sdhuzuo4_500.gif special mention]]
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: At first she seems to be the most harmless of the people of the Empire who the Night Raid had to meet. When she unknowingly meets a member of the Night Raid, both of them are get along with each other and it seems that even if in future they will fight with each other she will not make a big problem for them. But nothing can be so far away from the truth. As the series goes along, Seryu is revealed to be an AxCrazy psychopath who believes anyone who opposes the Empire is "evil" and must die. [[HeroKiller She kills Sheele]] and causing the first real defeat for Night Raid on the screen. Later she joins the elite squad of Teigu users under the direction of the WorldsStrongestWoman and also TookALevelInBadass thanks to Dr. Stylish who modifies her with the Judgement of the Ten Heavenly Kings that making her even more deadly enemy. And even in her final battle with Mine where the latter one defeats her to avenge Sheele's death, Seryu could have killed her with her final suicide bomb had Tatsumi not gotten Mine out of the blast radius in time.
* ObliviouslyEvil: While the rest of the Jaegers seem to have some level of understanding that what they do isn't entirely good and are either [[CardCarryingVillain Card-Carrying Villains]] (Esdeath, Dr Stylish) or [[PunchClockVillain Punch Clock Villains]] (Wave, Run, Bols, and to a lesser extent Kurome), Seryu does not seems to grasp that her actions are more villainous than heroic. Something that even Mine lampshades.
* OhCrap:
** Pretty much her face after she understands that Sheele blocked a shot of guns surgically implanted into her arms.
** Also her face when she gets sliced in half by Mine's Teigu.
* OlderThanSheLooks: Her official age is in the mid 20s. She looks to be around the same age as Tatsumi.
* OnlyOneName: The only character of the series that averts this, as we know her surname.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Very similar to a Night Raid in this respect with the only difference being that for Seryu, ''any'' crime is punishable by death.
* PetTheDog: She is good friends with the other Jaegers, and also takes time to help lost citizens and play with children.
* PsychopathicWomanchild: She has a rather [[BlackAndWhiteInsanity simplistic view of the world]], her speech is littered with [[{{Hypocrite}} hypocrisies]], her behavior is sometimes childish, and she is completely unable to [[ObliviouslyEvil assess her actions as wrong]].
* PureIsNotGood: Purely devotes herself to promoting "Justice", even if it comes at the expense of everything else.
* RedHerringShirt: Before being formally introduced in Episode 5 of the anime, she can be spotted briefly in Episode 2 as a member of Ogre's entourage.
* {{Revenge}}: Her initial motivation is the fact that Night Raid murdered her master, Captain Ogre.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: She hate Night Raid for killing her mentor, Captain Ogre and wants to take revenge on them for his death. It only gets worse after Dr. Stylish death.
-->'''Seryu:''' All of the people emportant to me are killed by the enemies... Captain... I'm so frustraded! I want to... I want to hurry and exterminate them all!!
* SanitySlippage: She becomes more derailed as the series goes on, even killing a woman for assisting a group of bandits despite having been forced to do so against her will.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Her outfit after joining the Jaegers features a scarf.
* ShadowArchetype: She is this at once for several members of the Night Raid. Seryu shows what they could be if their sense of justice becomes warped to the point they become {{Knight Templar}}s but are completely [[ObliviouslyEvil oblivious of the collateral damage]] their actions have caused.
** She have many similarities with Tatsumi in that both of them have a great sense of justice and both are ready to mercilessly kill those who they consider evil in the name of what they call justice. Actually words Tatsumi before joining to the Night Raid about that Night Raid are assassins of justice who commit murders of bad people in the name of the greater good is almost a direct reflection of Seryu's view of justice. The difference between them is that Night Raid managed to explain to Tatsumi in time that even if they are doing it for the greater good, nothing changes the fact that they're murderers and in their murders there is no justice. While Seryu is mercilessly blind to this about herself and the ones she serves, thinking that all she does is in the name of justice and all those who are on the side of the Empire are on the side of justice.
** She also is the one to Chelsea. Both of them is womens with high sense of justice who decided to change this world by means of killing bad people. Both of them also believe that [[WellIntentionedExtremist they are doing it for the sake of a higher goal]] and [[SmitingEvilFeelsGood receive some satisfaction from this]]. But while Chelsea still has a certain level self-awareness and understands what at times doing terrible things and feels guilty for it, Seryu is too blinded by [[SheWhoFightsMonsters her desire for revenge]] and [[BlackAndWhiteInsanity her idea of justice]] and she just don't realize that [[ObliviouslyEvil her actions entail more evil than good]].
** And ultimately she is the one to Mine. Both of them are ruthless young girls devoted to their team who wield powerful ranged weapons and have a tense rivalry with each other caused by desire to revenge for the people important to them. However, Seryu allows to blind herself by her lust for vengeance, looking at her opponents [[BlackAndWhiteInsanity only as a pure evil which deserves no mercy]], at the same time [[MoralMyopia completely fails to recognize the flagrant evil in her mentors]]. While Mine, despite her own lust for vengeance, acknowledges that Seryu technically didn't do anything wrong since she was doing her duty by killing Sheele and [[SympathyForTheDevil even expresses pity for her being so broken and insane]].
* SheWhoFightsMonsters: Seryu is genuinely wants to protect the people of the Empire from people who commit evil. However her lust for revenge caused by tragic losses in her life and her twisted sense of justice led to the fact that her actions to become far more brutal and insidious than those of the people she believes to be evil.
* SlasherSmile: When she gets into battle, expect '''a lot''' of these.
* SmitingEvilFeelsGood: Nothing brings her greater joy than slaying evildoers.
* SniperRifle: #7: Taizan's Cannon of Justice.
* StepfordSmiler: A mixture of Types I and III. She usually seems happy and cheerful but actually she is psychologically traumatized, unstable, ruthless, and genuinely believes that criminals should die.
* TakingYouWithMe: After she gets sliced in half by Mine, Seryu's final act was to detonate the bomb inside of her body in a last ditch attempt to kill Mine. This ultimately failed as Tatsumi managed to pull Mine out of the explosive radius.
* TautologicalTemplar: She firmly believes everyone working for the Empire is on the side of justice, and anyone who has committed even the smallest crime - even if they were forced to - are evildoers who must die, completely ignoring how corrupted the Capital, her allies and she herself are.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: When she, along Suzuka, finds [[spoiler: Tatsumi and Mine in a ruins in Kyoroch]], her response is to launch missiles at them. Despite the two of them escaping, the ruins are pretty much destroyed.
* ThisIsADrill: #5: Enma's Spear of Justice.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: Considering the fact that Night Raid was responsible for General Ogre's death, the fact that she says this to Night Raid after reminiscing of her training with him following her helping Tatsumi earlier is understandable. Later on, she even says this to Mine and Sheele before their fight, because she blames them both for the deaths of both her father and Ogre himself, even though she has no idea that ''Tatsumi'' was the one who killed Ogre himself.
-->'''Seryu:''' (to Mine and Sheele) My father died in the line of duty fighting villains like you! And you killed my mentor, General Ogre! I will never forgive you!
* TragicVillain: Her father who was part of the Imperial Police and the one who brought up in her a strong fixation upon "Justice" met his end at hands of revolutionaries, causing Seryu's extreme thirst for punishing evildoers. Her mentor and superior, Captain Ogre, who she highly respected was undeservedly (in her mind) killed by Night Raid that causing her lust for revenge. And Dr. Stylish the one who to implant weapons into her body in order to make her stronger and who seem to be cared about her also was killed by Night Raid that only accelerated her SanitySlippage.
* TraumaCongaLine: She loses her parents at the hands of revolutionaries in young age. Then thanks to help her master, Ogre, who introduced her to Dr. Stylish, she goes through painful experiments to become stronger. Later her master dies at the hands of Night Raid and in her attempts to revenge she is losing both of her arms. Later she recovers her arms thanks to help Dr. Stylish but then he also dies at the hands of Night Raid leaving her in complete depressed from information about his death.
* TogetherInDeath: With Koro who is trying to comfort her in her last moments.
* TookALevelInBadass: Before her battle with Sheele and Mine, she was a dangerous opponent, but after Stylish modifies her and Koro with the Judgement of the Ten Heavenly Kings, she has access to a vast armory inside Koro's stomach that she can summon during a battle, making her a more deadly enemy. It's taken a step further in Bolic's arc, when combining some of the armory - she can even launch missiles!
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She cares genuinely for the sake of the people of the Empire; unfortunately, her methods and her twisted sense of justice are very extreme and do more harm than good.
* WideEyedIdealist: Deconstructed. She has a very idealistic view of the world believing in the concept of absolute justice which shall never yield to evil. However her blind idealism causes her to suffer from BlackAndWhiteInsanity, believing that all the people on the side of the Empire are absolutely good and anyone who opposes the Empire are evildoers who deserves no mercy.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: The reason why she's a crazy, cruel and has a strong fixation upon "Justice" can be traced to the trauma of loss all of the people important to her, at the hands of revolutionaries and Night Raid and her desire to take revenge on them, which is honestly a pretty understandable and compelling motivation. She's still a crazy bitch, but at the core, she's also a deeply traumatized and broken woman with a streak of emotional instability.
* YouAreWhatYouHate: Lampshaded by Mine during their second fight. Despite Seryu championing justice above all else, and strives to destroy all those who commit evil, she herself is no better than those whom she hates, being a cruel psychopath who knows no mercy for her enemies.
* YouKilledMyFather: Not quite correctly since there is no concretely the one to whom she avenges but her main motivation for the destruction of evildoers stems from the death of her father at the hands of revolutionaries and her desire to restore justice.
-->'''Seryu:''' No matter what happen... I will deliver justice!!! For my father who died in the line of duty fighting villains like you!

%% * TheBerserker: His [[ExactlyWhatItSays OnTheTin Berserk mode]].
* BigEater: He finishes off opponents by eating them. No matter how many he devours, he never seems to get his fill.
* ChekhovsGun: Hekatonkheires appears in Night Raid's book about Teigus before [[https://40.media.tumblr.com/6e30c11f6fe83f35dda427811729307e/tumblr_naetas6QMA1thvxebo1_1280.png being properly introduced in the series]].
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: His appearance outside combat is a cute little dog. However, when he enters into a battle, he becomes a really deadly Teigu with MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily who also can go into a feral {{Super Mode}}.
* CurbstompBattle: Koro, being such a big target that [[GlassCannon Mine]] had already fought before, is utterly powerless against her the next time they fight, with her effortlessly blasting him apart and countering every attack he attempts to use, leaving Seryu to do most of the fighting herself. Koro's presence is actually more helpful to Mine than detrimental, as the danger he poses loads Pumpkin with enough power to completely overpower him and his master.
* CuteAndPsycho: Looks like a cute and fluffy plush dog, but when he gets hungry...
* EmpathicWeapon: He can feel the frame of mind of his owner and he is shown feeling anger or sadness (when Seryu mourns Stylish's death, Koro is visibly sad, sensing the grief of his owner). Also, he [[spoiler: comforts Seryu in her dying moments before the bomb explodes and kills them both]]. Considering that he is a dog-shaped weapon, [[FridgeBrilliance it makes sense]].
* GrowingMusclesSequence: He can temporarily bulk up the muscle mass within his arms to increase his attack power.
* HealingFactor: Being a biological Teigu grants Hekatonkheires the ability to heal from damage at an extremely fast rate.
* HeroesLoveDogs: Played straight from Seryu's perspective, since she sees herself as bringer of justice. Subverted in that she's one of the antagonists.
* HyperspaceArsenal: Seems to act a portal to Seryu's arsenal by biting her arm off.
* KillerRabbit: Looks like an adorable plushie dog, then he [[MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily opens his mouth]], and it just gets worse from there.
* LivingWeapon: Like Susanoo, he is a biological Teigu and is therefore alive.
* PetTheDog: [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe After getting blown in half]] by Mine's Teigu, [[spoiler:he manages to crawl beside Seryu and [[TogetherInDeath comfort her in her last moments.]]]]
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Like Susanoo, Coro is a Teigu and would be around the same age as him.
* RedBaron: Magical Beast Transformation: Hekatonkheires.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: When not fighting, he is this. When he is fighting, it's [[MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily another story]]...
* RightHandAttackDog: What Koro is to Seryu, since she's [[ObliviouslyEvil too villainous]] and he's too [[LivingWeapon powerful]] to qualify as a simple CanineCompanion.
* SuperMode: His Trump Card has the ability Berserk, which turns him into a bigger, more powerful, feral looking, red version of himself, but if his owner uses this, he becomes inactive for a time.
* SuperScream: He has a skill where he can emit an intense roar capable of momentarily incapacitating enemies.
* TokenNonHuman: Being a living Teigu, he is the only non-human member of the Jaegers as Susanoo is this for Night Raid.
* TurnsRed: Can enter a [[TheBerserker berserker mode]] that turns him into a complete LightningBruiser, but [[HeroicRROD he overheats after a short time]].
* WalkingArmory: Koro's infinite belly houses Seryu's vast arsenal, which she can command to equip when necessary.

A kind and charming man enlisted by Esdeath into the Jaegars. Run hails from a small rural village, and joins the Jaegers in hopes of one day reforming the Empire from within.

His Teigu is Limitless Flight: Mastema, a pair of discs that sprout angel-like wings, granting their user flight and the ability to fire razor-sharp feather projectiles.
----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:His look of horror as Kurome uses her Yatsufusa to "save" him says it all.]]
* AntiVillain: Like Wave, he's this. It turns out he wants to change the Empire from within following an incident where in his days as a teacher he had the horror of walking into witness the aftermath of his class after they were massacred by [[MonsterClown Champ]] from Wild Hunt.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: With only a few small clues Run accurately figures out that Dr. Stylish found the Night Raid base, assaulted the base with his army to acquire them for experimentation, failed and then got erased for his trouble.
* BadassBookworm: He is never seen without a book in his hand, and it turns out that he was once a teacher.
* BadassLongcoat: He wears a long a white robe on top of a black shirt.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Run is a polite and kind man who want the best for The Empire and aspires to change it to a better place. But when someone hurt his beloved ones, as [[spoiler: Champ could testify]], he became vengeful and cruel.
* BigDamnHeroes: Saves Kurome from being killed by a two pronged attack from members of Wild Hunt, [[spoiler:but ultimately sustains heavy injuries [[TakingTheBullet shielding her]] from a fiery explosion caused by Champ]].
* BromanticFoil: For Wave, whom Run foils as the calm, wise friend who encourages brash, naive Wave to reform the Empire.
* TheCharmer: He is fully aware of his good looks and silver tongue and uses them to get on the good side of people.
* ColdBloodedTorture: He makes sure Champ suffers before killing him, even rubbing flowers that cause intense pain into his wounds.
* CoolTeacher: Before joining the Jaegers, Run was a beloved teacher of a small village.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Yellow eyes and hair.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: PlayedForLaughs in one of the omakes of the anime, when Honest mistakes him with a girl due his PrettyBoy appearance. {{Averted}} in the proper series, where everyone know that he is a guy.
* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler: In the manga, after he is fatally wounded, Kurome uses her Yatsufusa to turn him into a puppet, keeping him "alive."]]
* FragileSpeedster: Run's skill at dodging attacks and his teigu's ability of flight make him a very difficult target to hit. In the anime, he was never once hit by a single attack, while in manga, he was only hit two times, [[spoiler: before his death/zombification.]] However, both attacks in the manga ending up doing a great amount damage to him. The first time he was hit occurred when [[spoiler: Mine gazed him with her teigu, Pumpkin. Despite only just being gazed, the injury was enough to put him out of the fight for the rest of the Bolic arc.]] The second time occurred when he hit by [[spoiler: Champ's explosion orb, the injuries he sustained from that attack ended up proving fatal.]]
* GoodWingsEvilWings: When Run activates Mastema he sprouts golden angelic wings to move about. [[spoiler:When Run is enslaved and reanimated by [[{{Necromancer}} Yatsufusa]] his wings are dyed jet black, akin to that of a fallen angel.]]
* GoOutWithASmile: '''Subverted'''. At first it seems that he is going to die in that way after finally he ganking the douchebag who murdered and raped his school children. He felt he could pass on hoping Wave and Kurome could fix the rot within the empire in his place, only for Kurome to stab him with her necrosword in order to keep him "alive." [[AndIMustScream His final expression speaks volumes]].
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: He may be a member of the Jaegars, but he's a actually a really decent guy who wishes to change the empire from within.
* HeelFaceTurn: In the animé, he [[spoiler:helped Leone to save the civilians from the giant mecha Shikoutazer and later became a member of the post-revolution government ("Minister of Home Affairs" in the dub)]].
* HiddenAgendaVillain: Internally mentions having an ulterior goal to working with the Jaegars: he wants to change the empire from the inside.
* HoneyTrap: This was how he obtained his Teigu. By seducing his town's mayor, he was able to use her favor to work up the ranks of the military and obtain a Teigu.
* InternalReformist: Like Wave, Run believes the Empire needs to change and joined the Jaegers to reform it from within.
* NiceGuy: He is very polite and cares for his partners and allies. [[BewareTheNiceOnes This doesn't stop him of being very ruthless]] [[spoiler:when he torture Champ in revenge for the deaths of his students.]]
* NonchalantDodge: Can dodge a fury of attacks from [[LightningBruiser General Esdeath]] while still reading his book.
* NumberTwo: To Esdeath, being the one that informed her of the disappearance of Dr. Stylish and other important stuff like the humanoid Danger Beast appearance. [[spoiler:Also he help her superior to disband Wild Hunt.]]
* PapaWolf: He seeks to kill Champ [[spoiler:(and succeeds)]] because he killed all of his students.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: [[spoiler:Even as a corpse puppet, Run still retains enough humanity to lead Wave to Kurome to stop her fight with Akame.]]
* PrettyBoy: He is a very handsome individual, which he uses to his advantage, in fake relationships with women like his town's mayor and Cosmina.
* {{Revenge}}: Despite his kind nature, Run seeks vengeance against Champ of Wild Hunt for slaughtering the children of his old village.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: [[spoiler:In the manga, he dies in his fight with Champ, but due to [[OvertookTheManga the absence of Wild Hunt in the anime]] he's still alive and will help Wave rebuild the Empire.]]
* TheStoic: He never been shown to raise his voice or succumb to emotions, and was in generally calm, and polite man.
* SympathyForTheDevil: Although Kurome uses her Yatsufusa to turn him into a puppet, dooming him to FateWorseThanDeath, Run is not angry at her but is horrified by the fact that the Empire had caused such a young girl to become so mentally unstable.
-->'''Run:''' Kurome... your psyche was warped... to this extent? This is why... the Empire that raised such miserable girl... has... to... change...
* UndyingLoyalty: To Esdeath, Wave and Kurome as a whole.
* TheUnfought: He is the only member of the Jaegers that Night Raid doesn't battle. During the first battle between Night Raid and the Jaegers he stays out of combat alongside Esdeath and Seryu, withdraws from a possible battle with Akame after her battle with Ibara, and during the Bolick assassination he takes a supporting role by [[spoiler: foiling their plan by taking out their air manta.]] The closest he comes to fighting Night Raid during the series is [[spoiler: as one of Kurome's corpse puppets during the Akame versus Kurome battle but it can barely be considered a fight as he's taken out quickly and the focus is on Kurome instead of him.]] The only fight he does get in the series is his battle with Champ.
** Averted in the anime however. He has a quick battle with Night Raid right before their battle with [[spoiler: the Ultimate Teigu.]]
* WeHardlyKnewYe: {{Invoked|Trope}} InUniverse by [[spoiler:Kurome]], who felt like they didn't know each other well enough.

* FeatherFlechettes: Mastema has the ability to fire a molt of feathers in lethal volley in a resemblance like weapons from [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon]].
* {{Flight}}: Mastema grants the user the ability to sprout angelic wings and fly.
* PerpetualMolt: The wings sprouted by Mastema constantly molt feathers with every flap.
* RedBaron: Soaring For Thousands of Miles: Mastema.

[[folder:Dr. Stylish]]
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drstylishfull1793312_3.png]]
-->''"First impression are important... and would of course be important to a stylish man like myself."''
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KenNarita (Japanese), Creator/JayHickman (English), Christian Lizama (Latin American Spanish)
A brilliant doctor and scientist of the Empire scouted by Esdeath to join the Jaegars. Though unparalleled in his practice, Dr. Stylish is a man of questionable morals, taking great pleasure in experimenting on living beings, especially humans.

His Teigu is Glorious Hands of God: Perfector, a pair of gloves that drastically improve their user's hand dexterity, allowing them to heal nearly any injury and perform complex surgeries with ease.
----
* AgentPeacock: The best scientist in the Empire, who is also a vain, campy pretty boy.
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: He finds where Night Raid's secret hideout is at, and attacks it with his entire minion army. He nearly succeeds in taking them down, were it not for the timely arrival of Najenda with some new reinforcements.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Dr. Stylish injects himself with something that turns him into a giant monstrosity, and is largely immune to attacks by both Susanoo and Akame. However, his original body is located on top of said monstrosity, and Tatsumi takes Akame up there where she can attack his body directly.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: When he injects himself with something in episode 11, he grows monstrously huge.
* BadBoss: He doesn't care for his subordinates, only sees them as pawns to defeat Night Raid and only give them an antidote for his drug to make them capture the heroes. His true colors are revealed eventually with Susanoo's arrival, when he explode his minions trying to kill Night Raid and later eat the ones who stayed with him to become stronger after his transformation.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: He fakes to be kind with his minions for personal gain. He didn't care about them at all.
* CampGay: He blatantly hits on his fellow male Jaegars, except [[HappilyMarried Bols]], and even offers his transformed human experiments a “night alone” with him if they manage to kill any Night Raid.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "Stylish."
* CombatMedic: He can deal a healthy dose of asskicking with his minion army while also repairing (and upgrading) any of his allies with his Teigu, Perfector, saving them from anything less than death.
* CombatTentacles: Syringe tipped tentacles.
* CrazyPrepared: As expected from a {{mad scientist}}. He brings all his mooks in the battle against Night Raid (this mooks are very resistant and one of them knocked down Leone with ease) including two of his more competent servants, a big guy who owns [[spoiler: Exctase]] and a PrettyBoy with artificial limbs that give a nice battle to Akame herself. When they are defeated, he makes the rest of his troops to battle the members and displays a poisonous gas to defeat Night Raid more easily. When Susanoo appear, he explode his mooks and seeing that this doesn't harm the Teigu, proceeds to use his final card: as syringe with Danger Beast DNA that turns him into a powerful monster, and after eating his last subordinates, he became even more powerful. Seriously, if Najenda didn't reach to the base at time, he probably would've defeated Night Raid.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Behind his silly and campy behaviour, there is a very efficent scientist that, despite lacking fighting abilities, almost managed to defeat the whole Night Raid organization using his resources. He was also the only one of the Jaegers to suspect that Tatsumi is more than just a strong country boy after observing his impressive fighting skills, something that not even other intelligent members of the Jaegers like Run or Esdeath did.
* TheDandy: His obsession with his image and being stylish make him this.
* EvilIsHammy: The way he talks and moves tends to be extremely melodramatic.
* FauxAffablyEvil: From at first sight he seems a somewhat extreme but eventually nice person who feeling sympathy for any of his test subjects that are injured or killed in his service, but in reality he is self-serving and duplicitous person who don't care about anything except his experiments and, he sees in his test subjects only as bodies to experiment on.
* TheFightingNarcissist: He openly flaunts his good looks and "style." Even in his OneWingedAngel form he calls himself the ultimate in stylishness.
* FlunkyBoss: When he attacks the Night Raid hideout he send his entire minion army to attack them while he stands back and watches the outcome of the battle.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: Considering that he is a {{mad scientist}} who hasn't any consideration with the human life, love to realize sick experiments on people and also wears glasses, it's nothing strange.
* FullFrontalAssault: After using a serum on himself that made him grow to Danger Beast size, his clothes were torn to shreds.
* InkSuitActor: Bears a [[http://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/voiceactors/2/25305.jpg resemblance]] to his seiyuu Creator/KenNarita.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: He gave an antidote to his minions so that they would be immune to his poison weapon, making his subordinates praise him for caring. He then reveals he rigged those same minions with bombs to use against Night Raid, showing that he doesn't actually have any respect or care for them.
* KickTheDog: His treatment of his subordinates during the battle with Night Raid make him to do this.
* LabCoatOfScienceAndMedicine: Never leaves his experiment dungeon without it!
* LaughablyEvil: His hammy nature and his obssession with his style are very funny to watch. Doesn't stop him of being one of the antagonists that almost beat Night Raid as a whole.
* MadScientist: Loves to experiment on humans and seeks to create weapons more powerful than Teigus.
* MeaningfulName: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin He's basically a Doctor obsessed with being stylish.]]
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: Specializing in human experimentation.
* {{Narcissist}}: His personality is overtly permeated by his own grandiosity? Check. He uses others to satisfaction of his own desires? Check. He is extremely self-conscious of how he is perceived by others. Check. He has an insatiable appetite for acclaim and power? Check.
* NonActionGuy: Has no prior combat experience and his Teigu is only a support type. As such he usually stays outside of battle to either heal the wounds of his allies or send his EliteMooks to fight for him.
* OneWingedAngel: After his army is destroyed and realizes Night Raid is coming for his head, Stylish [[spoiler:[[PlayingWithSyringes injects himself with a syringe]] transforming himself into a giant monster.]]
* PetTheDog: For all his immoralities, he was genuinely kind to Seryu.
* PowerDyesYourHair: He has a streak of white through his black hair. After assuming his OneWingedAngel form, the rest of his hair turns white.
* ScarilyCompetentTracker: He has three specially modified minions who have enhanced [[SuperSenses hearing, scent and vision]] to help him track down Tatsumi.
* SissyVillain: An evil scientist specialized in human experimentation. And as his name suggests it, he's a flamboyant, campy pretty boy obsessed with being stylish.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Despite being the first of the Jeagers to die and the one who's least screentime, his impact on the story and his investigations take a key role later. Examples include him meeting Ogre to make Seryu's body modifications [[spoiler: who caused Sheele's death]], the creation of [[spoiler:Humanoid Danger Beast that later Syura uses to cause chaos on the Empire]], his discovery of [[spoiler: the Danger Beast DNA in the Leader of the Oath of Peace]] and the coming of Dorothea to the Capital only to meet him.
* SquishyWizard: He has an army of human experiments at his disposal that each have a variety of different upgrades and enhancements but stays back because he himself lacks any kind of offensive ability. [[spoiler: At least before his OneWingedAngel.]]
* VillainOfTheWeek: While the other Jaegers are either recurring or major antagonists, Dr. Stylish only plays an antagonistic role for a few chapters after his introduction and [[spoiler: never returns because he is killed after his first battle]]. In the manga he is the primary antagonist in chapters 20 and 21 while in the anime his battle takes up the entirety of episode 11.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Dr. Stylish is the first of the Jaegers to get killed off. He was also the least developed, being the most amoral of the group and lacking any redeeming qualities.
* WeHaveReserves: Zigzagged. He initially doesn't seem concerned with the death of a few of his footsoldiers, due to having a large pool of them available via criminals in prison. However, he later uses a drug to knock out the Night Raid members other than Tatsumi, who isn't affected by it due to his Imperial Arms, and comments that the huge loss of men forced his hand. And when he transforms, he eats the minions who were with him until he was directly attacked.
* TheWorfEffect: When he uses his monster form, that he claims to be very strong, to defeat Night Raid, is quickly defeated by all them united, leaving us without knowing his true strength.

!!!Teigu:Perfector
* EliteMook: Created several of these each capable of giving Night Raid members trouble.
* MadeOfIron: Stylish's soldiers are very hard to kill, capable of recovering from normally fatal wounds like a broken neck and ignoring getting their limbs removed.
* RedBaron: Glorious Hands of God: Perfector
* TrickedOutGloves: Perfector allows Stylish to basically do what he does best, but even better. He can perform surgery and experiment faster than humanly possible.
[[/folder]]

!!The Three Beasts
[[folder:In General]]

A group formed by three Teigu users who were the strongest Teigu-wielding group of the Empire until the appearance of the Jaegers and the strongest members of the army of Esdeath. Each one of them is very powerful and were feared for everyone in the Empire.
----
* ArcVillain: Of the entire 3rd volume of the manga and the episodes 07 and 08 of the anime.
* BadassCrew: Calling a crew to a group of three people may be exaggerated, but they fulfill the badass part quite well. They were powerful enough to beat 15 trained soldiers (and only one of them defeated the soldiers, mind you) and the Ban tribes natives without many efforts. Only an opponent of Esdeath's level like Bulat was capable of fighting with them toe-to-toe, [[spoiler: and even he ends up dying after the battle with the Three Beasts.]]
* TheDreaded: Being the strongest members of Esdeath's army, this is understandable. Najenda herself felt relieved by their demise in the Ryusen, because their presence would have made things more difficult for the Revolutionary Army,
* HeroKiller: The Three Beasts were the most powerful soldiers under Esdeath until the formation of the Jaegers. They were responsible for wiping out the entire outskirts division of the Night Raid save for Chelsea, killing the ex-Prime Minister and his knights. Liver himself fatally wounded [[spoiler: Bulat]] before dying.
* TrainingFromHell: In the debut of the group in the Empire's torture chamber, one of the torturers says to his partner that he wish to be one day part of the Three Beasts. His partner quickly tells him that being part of the group is not easy, as they have to stand a really brutal training to be part of the group.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Esdeath. Most notably in the case of Liver, but the Postscript of the third volume revealed that Nyau and Daidara were also really loyal to their captain.[[/folder]]
