* DeusExitMachina: When Night Raid went after Kurome the first thing they do is send Wave flying off a la [[Anime/{{Pokemon}} Team Rocket]]. Fights against Imperial Arms users are tough enough and Wave is one of the stronger members of the Jaegers. Probably third strongest [[spoiler: and he later ties with Kurome as second strongest due to her GameBreakingInjury]].

* PunchClockVillain: Other than [[CuteAndPsycho Seryu]], [[PsychoForHire Esdeath]], [[MadScientist Dr. Stylish]] and [[HorrorHunger Kurome]] most of the members see being in the group as just a job and generally aren't villainous otherwise outside of combat.

** In the manga, [[spoiler:Wave's love for her leads to Kurome defecting from the Empire and giving up her murderous {{Yandere}} tendencies to live a peaceful life with him.

* SuperMode: His Trump Card has the ability Berserk, which turns him into a bigger, more powerful, feral looking, red version of himself, but if his owner uses this, he becomes inactive for a time.

* UnknowinglyInLove: Wave feels strongly attracted to Kurome from early on and is very protective of her, but he can only recognize his feelings for her as friendship [[spoiler:until she kisses him before going to face Akame in a fight to the death. Wave then realizes he's in love with Kurome and manages to convince to leave the Empire with him.]]

* BadassCape: It even ''[[AntiGravityClothing floats]]''.

* InstantArmor: He can summon it at any time.
* PoweredArmor: Same as Incursio.

* BadassAdorable: Her allies and enemies alike take note of how cute she is until she cuts a group of soldiers to pieces in a single motion. She’s easily the second strongest Jaegar after [[WorldsBestWarrior General Esdeath]], capable on taking on the ''entire'' Night Raid with her [[{{Necromancer}} Yatsufusa]] and almost winning. She’s also the only person that can clash swords with [[OneHitKill Akame]] and come out unscathed with no allies or supernatural assistance.

* CovertPervert: At least when pertaining to Wave. See her ArentYouGoingToRavishMe and EatingTheEyeCandy entry for more details.

* CuteAndPsycho: Emphasis on the psycho part.
* CuteIsEvil: As cute and calm as she appears, one must not forget that she's one of the most psychopathic members of the Jaegers.

* DeathByAdaptation: [[spoiler:Her final battle with Akame in the manga ends with Wave [[BigDamnHeroes intervening]] and [[HeelFaceTurn convincing her to reform.]] In the anime, however, despite Wave's intervention, Kurome tells Wave that she wants to end this herself, and dies when Akame impales her on Murasame.]].

* LoveRedeems: [[spoiler:In the end, Wave's love for her leads to Kurome defecting from the Empire and giving up her murderous {{Yandere}} tendencies to live a peaceful life with him. This is subverted in the anime, as while she reveals to Wave that she ''does'' like him, she can't move on until either she or Akame dies. The one who dies in the ensuing duel is Kurome, skewered on Murasame.]]

* NowOrNeverKiss: Gives one to Wave in Chapter 64, [[TheBigDamnKiss all but stating her feelings for him in the process]], [[spoiler:before knocking him out to keep him from interfering with her potential final battle with [[OneHitKill Akame]]]].

* SweetTooth: She has a giant bag of cookies that she carries around wherever goes just to snack upon. [[spoiler:PlayedForDrama with the reveal that those cookies are [[PsychoSerum enhancing drugs]] that she's addicted to.]]
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Сookie.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: You remember the scene when Tatsumi says that could be a Teigu that have the ability to resurrect dead people at the beginning of the series?. This is Yatsufusa, although it not have the effect Tatsumi refers...

* AnArmAndALeg: After she trips during a fight with Sheele, she loses her grip on one of her tonfas. As Sheele moves in with an attack, Seryu puts her arms out in front to protect her body, though she loses both of her arms in the process.

* MakeMeWannaShout: Has a skill where he can emit an intense roar capable of momentarily incapacitating enemies.

* CatchPhrase: "Stylish."

* AlasPoorVillain: She is getting this treatment towards the end of the confrontation with Akame in anime. In her dying moments, Kurome revealed her feelings for a grieving Wave before closing her eyes in peace. Wave was allowed to bring back Kurome's body with him for proper burial as well as taking her Teigu and Akame broke down in tears for having to kill her own sister she loved in Tatsumi's arms.

** During the second half of the manga. Kurome is given a lot of great CharacterDevelopment, but her fighting skills become sorely lacking after her first fight with Night Raid. She fails to protect [[spoiler: Bolic from Akame]], becomes a rape target for Syura, would have been killed by Wild Hunt's Cosmina and Enshin if Night Raid didn't arrive when they did, is forced to retreat from the rebellion's attack on the Dark Squad without killing any Teigu users, and her final fight with Akame is very one-sided (on Akame's side). She spend most of second half of the manga being the DamselInDistress and getting saved by Wave and Run. This is somewhat justified due to her GameBreakingInjury and the drugs she is taking slowly killing her. [[spoiler: In the anime, she even dies because of her weakened state, as despite her best efforts, she loses to Akame and is skewered on Murasame in the end.]]

* GameBreakingInjury: A rare villainous variant. After surviving an assassination attempt by [[spoiler:Chelsea]], Kurome has been visibly more tired and weaker in combat. A notable example is when she fought the entire Night Raid she was able to summon and control eight corpse puppets and still have the strength to fend off [[MasterSwordswoman Akame]] simultaneously while largely keeping the pace of the battle. After the failed assassination she can barely summon two puppets, [[spoiler:and is suffering from a potentially IncurableCoughOfDeath; thus ''losing'' a subsequent battle of speed against Akame, resulting in the death of Bolic.]]

* KarmaHoudini: Depending on your point of view (see KarmaHoudiniWarranty). Despite Kurome killing a lot of people including [[spoiler: Chelsea and Run]], '''everybody''' is pretty quick to forgive her. She is [[spoiler: one of few characters to survive the series, is given a devoted boyfriend, and doesn't suffer any formal punishment for her many crimes]]. The series tries to justify this by pointing out that she was BrainwashedAndCrazy, but this was rendered moot when [[spoiler: the Emperor was executed despite suffering from a greater form of BrainwashedAndCrazy]].
** [[spoiler: Subverted in the anime when Akame runs her through.]]
