[[caption-width-right:350:The Girls Band from Hanasakigawa Girls' Academy.]]
A band that aims to shine like the stars in the night sky. They consist of Kasumi on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Tae on lead guitar, Rimi on bass, Saaya on drums and Arisa on keyboard and tambourine. They are still inexperienced (at first), but more than make up for it with their passion. Their songs have a cheerful, energetic j-pop rock sound.
----
[[folder:General]]
* ColorCodedCharacters: The band is associated as a group with pink.
** Kasumi: Red
** Tae: Blue
** Rimi: Pink
** Saaya: Yellow
** Arisa: Purple
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: All five of the members of this band are ''significantly different'' in the original manga, ''[=BanG_Dream!: Star Beat=]'':
** Kasumi was noticeably much more [[ShrinkingViolet reserved and shy]], and [[HeroicSelfDeprecation self-deprectiative]] due to being [[BulliedIntoDepression bullied when she was younger]]. And she has two older sisters, rather than having a younger sister.
** Tae is also quite shy, but is strong-willed. She reads manga and watches anime as her hobbies.
** Rimi's is depicted as a mysterious ninja and refers to Kasumi as her "master". Personality-wise she's also the opposite, as she's quite sassy, as shown by her initially refusing to join Kasumi's band because she was only willing to play in "Japan's greatest band". Her TrademarkFavoriteFood in the original continuity is onigiri.
** Saaya is [[TheGhost not shown at all]] until much later in the manga, due to her taking night classes (whereas Kasumi took day classes). She indirectly communicates with Kasumi through writing on the desk. She also uses her name in Katakana romanization before her true identity is revealed. Aside from that, [[DownplayedTrope she's the closest to her current depiction]], as she's the only member whose personality isn't the opposite of her current iteration.
** Arisa is a shut-in, and is quite interested in games. Like with most of the others her personality is quite the opposite, as shown when she invites Kasumi to join her "game" (as in, convincing her to be more confident in performing), basically being the one dragging Kasumi out of her shell, instead of the opposite case which happens in the current continuity.
* [[FourTemperamentEnsemble Five Temperament Ensemble]]:
** Kasumi is Sanguine.
** Tae is Eclectic.
** Rimi is Melancholic.
** Saaya is Phlegmatic.
** Arisa is Choleric.
* ImageSong: Each of Poppin'Party's members gets their own, each one heavily incorporating their instrument:
** Kasumi has "Doki Doki Sing Out!"
** Tae has "Hanazono Electric Guitar!!"
** Rimi has "Chocolate Bass Recipe"
** Saaya has "A Distant Heartbeat"
** Arisa has "I-I Never Said Love!"
* OutOfFocus: In the [[SequelSeries direct sequel]] ''[=BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!=]'', which takes place during the 3rd season of ''Girls Band Party!'', they often pop-up to cameo status, ranging from Kasumi and Saaya working as part-timers in live house [=RiNG=] to Tae (a part-timer at Edogawa Gakki) interacting with Anon.
* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: The second half of "Double Rainbow" has Kasumi trying to reunite the band, who've begun to drift apart after a particularly bad practice.
* SeriesMascot: Being the first girl band introduced, they're the face of the franchise overall.
* StylisticSuck: Their first attempt at making a PV after seeing RAISE A SUILEN do the same is...questionable, to say the least. They take inspiration from the RAS members placing themselves in glass boxes and using finger guns, but they sit in cardboard boxes instead due to their lower budget.

! Kasumi Toyama

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AimiTerakawa (Japanese), Creator/JulietSimmons (English)
-> '''Birthday:''' July 14 (Cancer)
-> '''School:''' Hanasakigawa Girls' High School
-> '''Year:''' 1st (Season 1), 2nd (Season 2), 3rd (Season 3)
\
The lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Poppin'Party. An eternal optimist whose cheerfulness is as contagious as her love of music, she formed Poppin'Party in search of the "Star Beat" she heard while gazing at the stars as a young child.
----
* AdaptationalPersonalityChange: This well known version of Kasumi is an idealistic GenkiGirl, a far cry from her original counterpart's ShrinkingViolet girl as seen in ''[=BanG_Dream!: Star Beat=]''.
* AmbiguouslyAbsentParent: Her and Asuka's father is never seen or even mentioned despite their mother being shown in the anime.
* AnimeHair: She has two hair buns that look more like horns or animal ears than actual hair, and don't seem to be tied up with anything. The mobile game has a one-panel in-between comic that jokes about how her hair buns aren't affected at all by the rain, with Rimi musing on what sort of product she uses to keep it like that. [[KindHeartedCatLover Yukina]] even muses that she looks like a cat.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Inverted. She's an annoying older sibling to her younger sister Asuka.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With fellow hyperactive eccentric, Kokoro. Their wavelengths are so similar that she's one of the only two people who're capable of understanding Kokoro's outlandish gibberish when it comes to songwriting (the other being [[CloudcuckoolandersMinder Misaki]]).
** It shows in Girls' Band Party, where [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62RQ3XlSTkg they will say each other band's catch phrases in-game]].
--->'''Kokoro:''' Kasumi!
--->'''Kasumi:''' Happy, Lucky, Popipa pa pipopa!
** And later:
--->'''Kasumi:''' Kokoron!
--->'''Kokoro:''' Popipa, pipopa! Smile, yay!
* BookDumb: Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
* ChildhoodFriend: With Hagumi. Hagumi didn't recognize Kasumi until she undid her hair buns since she didn't have them when they were kids.
* ChildishOlderSibling: She's older than Asuka by a year but more immature and hyperactive than her.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: She'd mainly just be a very cheerful girl, if not for her tendency to seemingly actually believe some outrageous stuff. She tends to get very melodramatic during these moments, but it's oddly hard to tell if she's being serious or not.
** In a comic posted on the official Twitter, it's shown she's the only one among all the vocalists of the bands to share [[IdiotHero Kokoro]]'s wavelength too, as the rest are pretty astounded or confused.
** In Season 2, one of her ideas for the band's self-sponsored show involves the girls ''flying'' for whatever reason.
* TheCloudcuckooLanderWasRight: She somehow figured out about Yukina's fondness for cats despite the latter desperately keeping it a secret from everyone except for Lisa as revealed in Kasumi's birthday line for Yukina.
* CuddleBug: She frequently hugs others affectionately, as part of her cheerful personality, ranging from her sister Asuka, her bandmates (Arisa, Rimi, Tae and Saaya), to other close friends and acquaintances such as Rokka and Mashiro. ([[https://bandori.fandom.com/wiki/Bonds_and_Gifts An example of this is seen in Kasumi's first KIRAMEKI Festival card]]) This is present frequently in the Anime and in-game card artworks.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: The hyperactive and carefree foolish sibling to her younger sister Asuka's more subdued and serious responsible sibling.
* TheGadfly: Teases Arisa quite a bit, though sometimes it's hard to know if it's actual teasing or if she's being oblivious.
* GenkiGirl: She's ''very'' energetic, fueled mostly by her (very strong) emotions, is nearly a case of NoIndoorVoice.
* HeroicBSOD: For most of episodes 10-11 in the first season of the anime, thanks to [[spoiler:Owner telling her point-blank that she was the worst of the lot among Poppin' Party's members.]]
* HeroicRROD: [[spoiler: The doctors say there’s nothing physically wrong with Kasumi, but as a result of the above, Kasumi loses her voice. It takes everyone in Poppin’ party singing together and encouraging her for her to find it again.]]
* HeroWorship: Overlapping with BigSisterWorship despite not being related, towards Yukina, the fellow vocalist Kasumi highly admires and aspires to be the most.
* InfectiousEnthusiasm: Her recruitment of three out of the other four members of [=PoPiPa=] can be mostly attributed to her happy-go-lucky, forward-thinking attitude about music and bands sweeping them away. Yukina even tells her in Season 3 that this is one of, if not outright, her greatest strengths, implying that this is one of the reasons Yukina is so fond of her.
* LargeHam: She's pretty funny when she thinks she's losing Rimi or messing with (or being oblivious towards) Arisa, and in any other instances where she suddenly gets melodramatic.
* TheLeader: She's the founder of Poppin' Party and the band's very own face. It was she who got everyone to form a band together with her.
* MagneticHero: Naturally for the series' main protagonist. Able to befriend people from other bands including the unsociable Yukina and Ran. [[spoiler:In [=PoPiPa=] Band Story 3 "Live Beyond", with efforts she's able to convince other people including the stiff and old-fashioned Owner into her belief that live-streamed concert is just as fun as normal ones.]]
* MoralityPet: Though she's not above being stern towards her when needed, Kasumi is one of the very few people Yukina is openly and exceptionally kind and fond towards and has no problem hanging out with her when she wants to (so long as it doesn't coincide with rehearsals). In fact, Kasumi's appearance in Roselia's "Neo-Aspect" Band Story [[spoiler: which happens right after Yukina runs off in tears after driving Ako and Rinko away]] becomes a crucial factor in getting Yukina back on the right track while helping her realize some important things she needs to know about her bonds with Roselia. During season 2, after she tells Kasumi and the rest of Poppin' Party that they weren't ready for a self-sponsored live yet, the first thing Yukina does just before they leave the studio was to check if Kasumi and the rest were okay and spends most of episode 3 concerned over their well-being, worried that her dressing them down might have depressed them.
* NiceGirl: Kind, sweet, optimistic and cheerful, with an infectious enthusiasm.
* OddFriendship: With the cold, stoic leader of Roselia, Yukina. Despite being as different as night and day, Yukina's considerably soft towards Kasumi and always complies whenever Kasumi wants to hang out.
* TheProtagonist: She is essentially this for the ''Bang Dream!'' franchise, as she's generally featured in most promotional images related to ''[=BanG=] Dream!'', and the video game's icon.
* SignatureHairDecs: Often wears star-shaped hair pins, as befitting her starry theme.
* StepfordSmiler: Whenever things go wrong for her in the anime, she tries to hide her pain. She alludes to this in her ImageSong:
--> ''These tears that I spill, I won't show to anyone.\
Although there were tough times (let's sing!)\
I don't want to give up yet (dreamin' now)\
Keep on smiling! Keep on shining!''
* StockShoujoHeroine: A BookDumb NiceGirl who can basically befriend everyone. It also helps she's also a GenkiGirl, making her enthusiasm even more expressed.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She and Asuka both share the same eye and hair color and one of the very few things that set them apart from each other are their hair lengths.
* SuperDrowningSkills:
** In the first episode of the first season of the original anime, it is implied that Kasumi is a poor swimmer, as seen by her expression when she rises up from the swimming pool's deep water, struggling to stay afloat before sinking back into the deep water and coming back out of it. Ironically, her younger sister is part of said swimming club.
** She lampshades this in the OVA taking place after the last episode of Season 1 anime, saying that she nearly drowned a long time ago, and likely because of this, she's briefly seen floating on top of a swim ring whereas Rimi is seen swimming normally.
* {{Womanchild}}: She’s not very mature for a teenager, even in her third year as a high schooler. As said before, she can be quite melodramatic and childish at moments, making her seemingly more immature than her younger sister Asuka.

[[folder:Tae Hanazono]]
! Tae Hanazono

[[caption-width-right:350:[[BunniesForCuteness Chasing Rabbits in the Garden]]]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Sae Otsuka (Japanese), Creator/LuciChristian (English)
-> '''Birthday:''' December 4 (Sagittarius)
-> '''School:''' Hanasakigawa Girls' High School
-> '''Year:''' 1st (Season 1), 2nd (Season 2), 3rd (Season 3)
\
The lead guitarist of Poppin'Party. A music lover who lives with her parents and her 20 rabbits, one of whom she refers to as her "boyfriend." She is somewhat of an airhead who has a tendency to say bizarre or shocking things with a straight face. Although initially skeptical of the band due to Kasumi's naivete, watching the passion with which they performed convinced her of their potential.
----
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: Subverted. Early episodes build her up to fall in this archetype, what with the long, dark hair, pale skin, height, and the somber expressions she makes when the shot focus is on her. [[CloudcuckooLander And then she starts talking…]]
* BirdsOfAFeather: She and Kasumi, despite one being perpetually calm and the other being a GenkiGirl, are on the same odd wavelength whether it be about guitar or homework, much to Arisa’s chagrin.
* BlueIsCalm: Her ColorMotif is blue, and she's relaxed (with a calm voice to match), somewhat reserved, and goes at her own pace.
* BunniesForCuteness: She has a lot of rabbits for pets, and one event in ''Girls Band Party'' has her trying to rescue a bunch of bunnies who escaped from the school's pet club.
* CastingGag: Her seiyuu, Sae Otsuka, did street performances before joining ''[=PoPiPa=]''. ''PICO~OHMORI~'' episode 10 focuses on Tae street performing with other band members!
* ChildhoodFriend: She was one to LAYER before they parted in the past.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Probably even more than Kasumi. Has her brain on her rabbits [=25/8=], and swerves into odd conversation topics a lot. If that wasn't enough, she even has her delusions for her ideal "Hanazono Land", which is mentioned in Ep 10 of the original anime, her ImageSong, and even [[https://bandori.party/asset/71/Ep-54-The-Ideal-Hanazono-Land/ in a 4-koma comic]].
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: In ''PICO~OHMORI~'' episode 10, Tae is joined by LAYER, Sayo, and Rinko in her street performers and is just a drummer short of a well-rounded band, the rest of the episode is [[LootBoxes her getting increasingly disappointed when more girls join her performance but not the one she wants...]] [[TemporaryOnlineContent until Tomoe shows up after everyone has left for the night.]]
* ExactWords: In the first season, it's assumed she had a FriendlessBackground due to her saying that no one ever called her a friend before, but Season 2 reveals she indeed had a friend in Rei/LAYER, making it appear to be a {{Retcon}}. However, Tae never said no one ''called'' her a friend, not that she never had a friend. Indeed, when Rei and Tae's childhood together was shown, Rei never explicitly called Tae her friend and vice-versa, but there was a silent agreement that they were.
* FriendlessBackground: She’s shocked when Kasumi calls her a friend for the first time, apparently because she’s never had anyone do that before. Subverted in the anime's second season, as it's revealed that RAISE A SUILEN's LAYER was a childhood friend of hers in the past.
* FriendlyEnemy: Downplayed. Tae, as a staff member at SPACE who’s seen the caliber of bands that qualify and get turned down, stands between Kasumi and her goal of performing at that stage, challenging Kasumi to “make [her] tremble” enough to change her mind about [=PoPiPa=]’s chances. The next day, she’s eating lunch with them and even ''participating'' in the discussion on how to do just that. [[spoiler: It goes to such a point that they succeed by having Tae play ''with'' them.]]
* TheGadfly: It can be sort of hard to tell if she's being genuinely spacey or just messing with Arisa and Rimi, but in more than one in-game talk, she seems to have a habit of saying something outrageous to see their flustered reactions.
* HypocriticalHumor: When [=PoPiPa=] decide to stay at her house for a night, she introduces them to her rabbits, and her mom, who displays a hint of Tae’s own weirdness in her mannerisms. When Tae’s mother leaves the group to their business, Tae comments that her mom is a bit of an airhead.
-->'''Arisa:''' Look who’s talking!
* InkSuitActor: She heavily resembles her [=VA=] in appearance. They even share very similar sounding names, hobbies, and backgrounds.
* InSeriesNickname: Kasumi starts calling her “O-Tae” while they slacks off on home economics projects. Not only does it stick, but it catches on.
* LastNameBasis: [[spoiler: Introduced as ‘Hanazono’ when she’s part of RAS.]]
* LonerTurnedFriend: Tae just isn’t that much of a people person to begin with - or, at least, it's just too heady to mentally connect with her. She only manages to befriend Kasumi (and Kasumi’s group by extension) by their shared interest in guitar. She was also friends with LAYER in the past for similar reasons.
* MeaningfulName: Her given name, Tae [[note]]when written in Kanji (妙) instead of Hiragana (たえ)[[/note]], has several possible meanings such as "strange", "odd", "mysterious", and "unusual"; all of these name meanings coincides with her being a {{Cloudcuckoolander}}.
* NiceGirl: Yes, she's an oddball and very airheaded, but is a genuinely kind and caring girl overall, despite her fairly reserved nature.
* NotSoStoic:
** [[spoiler:After she fails to make it back to the school for Popipa's first anniversary due to [=CHU2=] forcing her to stay behind for RAISE A SUILEN's first concert, she breaks down crying.]]
** [[spoiler:She cries when confessing that she loves Popipa and doesn't want to leave after singing "Returns", a song she wrote with her true feelings in mind.]]
* OddFriendship: With the blunt and cynical Chisato, whose intimidating aura underneath the smiles has no effect on Tae.
* ThatWasntARequest: She "asks" for Chisato's help in catching some runaway rabbits on the loose during the "Runaway Rabbits" event after literally bumping into her by continually staring her down until Chisato caved in.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Her in-game dialogue shows she likes hamburg steak.

\
The bassist of Poppin'Party. A shy and reserved girl who wants to become a more confident person, she was inspired by Kasumi's overwhelming confidence to take a step toward becoming a bolder person. Her older sister, Yuri, is the lead vocalist of the band Glitter*Green. She has an intense love of chocolate and especially chocolate cornets.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: The "Earnest Song For Me" event focuses on her attempting to write a song for the downtown area.
%%ZCE * AwkwardlyGayDream: More like (technically unseen) daydream. She has really funny reactions around Kaoru. If nothing else in the game is text-text aside from Kaoru's existence, Rimi is ''text.''
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: For Poppin' Party, and this is noticeable with Kasumi, Saaya and Tae giving her affection when interacting with her, like a little sweet sister.
* BigSisterWorship: Towards Yuri, her older sister. She started learning the bass because she wanted to play together with her.
* BirdsOfAFeather:
** She and Himari bond over their shared love of sweets and admiration for Kaoru in the ''Arisa's "Not Bad" Day Off'' event. They are also the bassists of their respective bands and have pink as their image color.
** She also gets along well with Nanami, as they are mutually fond of horror media. Though their interactions are relatively limited, this has been shown first in the ''Blossoming Symphony'' event, and most of their early interactions are focused on discussion about horror movies.
* CherryBlossomGirl: A Pink ColorMotif, born in early spring, and in the original series, she likes pretending to be a ninja.
* TheCutie: A shy but sweet-natured girl who's also very adorable and innocent-looking, who also loves chocolate food.
* GirlsLoveChocolate: She loves chocolate, especially chocolate cornets. Her ImageSong "Chocolate Bass Recipe" makes use of her chocolate love as part of its lyrics.
* HeightAngst: In one of the area conversations she can have in-game in Edogawa Music, she says that she wants to be taller, implying her complex over her relatively short height.
* LuminescentBlush: She gets this a lot in the game whenever she's flustered, ''especially'' when it comes to Kaoru.
* NightmareFetishist: Contrary to her soft-spoken appearance, Rimi's a big fan of the horror genre, and likes reading horror novels, while in comparison, Kasumi dislikes all kinds of horror. Played with, as she is seen scared in a haunted house [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EavF2G8WAAI-vVr.jpg (as seen here)]], but otherwise has no problems with horror movies, manga, etc.
* ShrinkingViolet: She's very soft-spoken and tends to just go along with what the rest of the band decides.
* TaremeEyes: Out of Poppin' Party members who all have droopy eyes (except for Saaya, whose eyes are slanted), Rimi fits this most, as she matches with the kind and soft personality that is associated with droopy eyes.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: As mentioned before, she loves chocolate food, but her especially specific favorite food are chocolate cornets. Additionally, she has a chocolate fountain at home, it's implied in a clickable talk she's the one who's been buying up said sweets at Yamabuki Bakery, and in the anime, she and Yuri even make a song, ''Watashi wa Kokoro wa Choco Cornet'' ("My Heart is a Choco Cornet), dedicated to her love for chocolate coronets.

\
The drummer of Poppin'Party. As the oldest of three children, she's a gentle and kindhearted person who acts as the older sister figure for her band. She cares deeply for her family and is often seen helping out at her parents' bakery. She played in a girls' band in middle school, but quit due to her worries over her mother's health. Regardless, Kasumi managed to reignite her love of music and convinced her to join the band with her family's blessing.
----
* AnimalsHateHer: In one of the in-game area conversations in the downtown, she tells Tomoe that she likes animals, but they don't like her back.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: [[spoiler: Yells at Kasumi for pushing her to join Popipa even though she feels she has responsibility to her family and has repeatedly told Kasumi she won’t join. Notably, her siblings start crying when they hear her yelling all the way from downstairs.]]
* BrokenBird: [[spoiler: Saaya used to be part of a middle school band, but her overwhelming responsibilities to them, school, and her family stretched her so thin she was never able to properly perform with them. On top of that, bein stretched out so thin meant that, in her eyes, she was never able to make ''anyone'' happy in the end, so she quit the band in favor of prioritizing her family. It’s this fear of disappointing everyone again and becoming a burden that makes her reluctant to join [=PoPiPa=].]]
* CoolBigSis: How she is towards her younger siblings, who definitely see her as this in turn. She’s also one towards the members of Poppin Party as a whole.
* FairytaleWeddingDress: Is asked to model in one during ‘The Impromptu Wedding Dress’.
* HairColorDissonance: Her hair is light brown, but in some loading screen comics it has a slightly pinkish hue.
* HiddenDepths: Compared to most other characters of the TeamMom archetype, it’s clear that Saaya still doesn’t yet have the maturity to handle everything by herself: she has a tendency to keep all of her worries to herself until things blow up in her face, [[spoiler: whether it’s her mother’s illness or not voicing out against letting Tae join RAS despite obvious misgivings.]] In other words, Saaya would like to be the TeamMom, but she can’t yet handle that role.
* HumbleHero: Claims in the game to have taken a while to get back in the saddle with regards to drumming. Anyone who watched the anime will know that [[LikeADuckTakesToWater this was not the case at all]].
* InconsistentSpelling: In the English translation of ''Girls Band Party!'', she’s referred to as Saya Yamabuki (spelled with one "a" despite the long "a" sound, instead of two "a"s).
* MellowFellow: Very easygoing, and not prone to anger or being flustered.
* NiceGirl: A kind, gentle and accommodating TeamMom.
* [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Woman]]: She’s the most down-to-earth and rational member of [=PoPiPa=], and while she and Arisa both share the StraightMan role, Arisa's generally too occupied in stress, anger and yelling at the others, thus leaving Saaya to moderate for [=PoPiPa=]. This [[NotSoAboveItAll doesn’t stop her from letting loose and joining in on Kasumi’s antics]], though.
* PromotedToParent: Not entirely, given that her parents are still around, but she's becoming this due to her mother's health issues.
* TheReliableOne: She takes this role for her family, the band, and sometimes even in school. [[spoiler: It’s deconstructed when she realizes that, if she skimps out on ''any'' of these important roles, everyone ends up getting hurt, so not only does she have to cut people off, but she also has to give up her own happiness to make sure everyone else is okay.]]
* StepfordSmiler: Hides all of her worries behind her seemingly easygoing attitude.
* StraightMan: A pretty easygoing but frequent one to anyone who's hyperactive or a bit out there, like Hagumi and Moca.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: To her mother, as seen in the anime. Her sister Sana also looks like a younger version of her to a certain extent.
* SweetBaker: An all-around sweetheart who regularly helps out at her family's bakery and often brings her bandmates bread to snack on.
* TeamMom: The one among Poppin'Party, by virtue of being the most normal out of all of them and never dropping the big-sister behavior. Occasionally, she can function as this for Moca, too.

The keyboardist of Poppin'Party. An introvert who spends most of her time at home, where her family runs a pawnshop. Snarky and easily flustered, she claims that she was dragged into Poppin'Party against her will, but she doesn't seem to be in any hurry to leave.
----
* AmbiguouslyAbsentParent: Her parents are never shown or mentioned much and it's not made clear why she's living with just her grandmother and not with either her mother or her father.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Some of her reactions towards Kasumi are pretty ambiguous. She's a pretty traditional dere-dere tsundere so it can be hard to tell whether she's just being very embarrassed or shy, or gay, or both.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With Misaki. They get along with each other very well due to their roles as the [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Woman]] in their respective bands and often riled up by their hyperactive vocalists.
* ButtMonkey: Mostly around the girls of Poppin'Party, either due to their being oddballs or poking fun at her. While it's frequent, it's not in any extreme fashion, mostly friendly teasing.
** In the "Band Shuffle" event, she's the [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Woman]] in the "Let's Enjoy An Exuberance Fun Band"[[labelnote:Members]]Arisa, Kokoro, Hina, Ako, and Hagumi[[/labelnote]]. There's a reason fans call it "Arisa's Hell Band".
* CaringGardener: She has a soft spot for bonsai trees and it's implied she considered them her only companions prior to meeting Kasumi and the others.
* DeadpanSnarker: Often offers dry commentary on the antics of the others, particularly when it comes to Kasumi.
* GirlishPigtails: She boasts some mid-height twintails, going hand in hand with the common tropes associated with {{Tsundere}}s.
* HairTriggerTemper: It's not that hard to set her off. How she managed to hold everything in until near the end of the ''Sakura Party'' event is a miracle to behold.
* HiddenBuxom: Certain in-game cards along with the OVA of Season 1 show that Arisa's a shortstack, but considering her cards don't show as much, it'd be hard to tell at first glance.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Most media that focus on Poppin'Party's origin make this pretty obvious.
* JerkassBall: Justified during Poppin'Party's second band story. Due to her being forced to balance schoolwork and band activities, along with the pressure of her derailing grades, she is notably more on-edge for the first few chapters of the story, and it culminates in her lashing out at Rimi. She does regret this, but she remains in a grouchy and uncommunicative mood for a good few chapters.
* TheLancer: Her snarky personality and being a more level-headed figure greatly clashes with Kasumi's optimistic and carefree outlook.
* LoonyFriendsImproveYourPersonality: Initially, she's a student that [[BrilliantButLazy constantly scored 1st but rarely attend class]]. She's started to take school more seriously after joining [=PoPipa=] to the point of joining the student council in her 2nd year.
* LuminescentBlush: Frequently gets these, particularly in her {{Tsundere}} moments.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When Arisa's temper gets the better of her in a moment of stress during the beginning of Poppin' Party's "Double Rainbow" Band Story, she unintentionally winds up hurting Rimi to the point where she ends up running off from practice in tears. Arisa immediately comes to tearfully regret this, saying how "she's the worst" for hurting Rimi even though she didn't do anything to warrant her anger. This event and subsequent blowup from Arisa marks the start of the conflict Poppin' Party will be forced to go through during their second Band Story.
* NoRespectGuy: She gets teased by everyone in [=PoPiPa=] (even Saaya, who is otherwise the straightest member in the band), which results in her yelling a lot at her bandmates.
* NoblewomansLaugh: Subverted. She does laugh "ohohoho" at times, but it's always to save face when she's put into an anxious or awkward situation, never with the pompous flair that the trope mandates.
* NotSoAboveItAll: While she is quite rational and complains at the antics of her bandmates (and other people), she could be considered to have her own antic in naming and talking to her bonsai trees.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: While she gets angry quite often, it's always played for laughs and comedy because of her overreactive outbursts and how everyone mostly just goes along with it. The one time she was actually ''seriously'' angry in an appropriately dramatic scene, she doesn't scream in exaggeration like she usually does. [[TranquilFury Instead, she stays completely quiet while wearing an obviously furious expression on her face]] .
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: Arisa wears this with the winter uniform.
* RageBreakingPoint: She hits it in the Sakura Blooming Party event in ''Girls Band Party'', trying to hold in her frustration at all the weirdness that her friends have (such as Kokoro's family having ''[[TheMenInBlack women in black suits]]'' as personal servants), and she finally explodes with anger when the topic of conversation turns to hosting a party in her basement without asking for her consent.
* StraightMan: Almost always towards Kasumi and Tae, but winds up so for Saaya too when she's joking around.
* ShrinkingViolet: While she's usually yelling among friends, during the game's lives she tends to timidly but brightly respond to characters she doesn't know that well; one of the many indications of her actual nature beneath her typical attitude.
* {{Tsundere}}: ''Big'' time towards everyone, but especially Kasumi. She's much more ''dere.'' Her 1-star card in ''Girls Band Party'' even refers to her as the "Top Tsundere".
* TranquilFury: Whenever Arisa’s genuinely angry, she doesn’t lash out at others the way she usually does. Instead, she holds it in and ignores the offending person. This can be seen on display twice, at Kasumi in the first season for breaking their promise of eating lunch together and not showing up to practice, and [[spoiler: Tae in the second season for failing to make it in time for Poppin Party’s anniversary concert.]]
* YamatoNadeshiko:
** Hilariously invoked and averted: Arisa ''tries'' to invoke this image around people she doesn't know well (notably in scenes where she's alone with the player character) but always ends up slipping back into her typical {{Tsundere}} attitude.
** This most extreme example of this has to be the Sakura Blooming Party event, where Eve, who's obsessed with Japanese culture, actually mentions this trope by name. Arisa then tries to act the part of a gentle Japanese young lady around the others through the whole party- which grows harder and harder as she tries to keep up with Kokoro's antics (and while Misaki keeps goading her to let her true feelings out).
