!! Red Lotus Trio
A legendary trio who traverse the Train to clean up the Apex, and later are tasked to end Boscha's reign of terror.
----
[[foldercontrol]]
[[folder:In General]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: "Melancholy Afterlife" focuses on their OriginStory, primarily on how Chloe and Lexi first met.
* AlternateSelf: To the Red Lotus Trio from their home story, ''Infinity Train: Blossoming Trail''.
* AndThenWhat: The team was originally formed in order to both help Chloe get off the Train, and to put an end to the Apex. However, with the latter taken care of by Boscha, and the former on its way to being completed, things look quite uncertain for the group's future, which causes Lexi a lot of angst.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: They're a kind group who are working to stop the Apex (and later Boscha) from harming denizens. They are ''not'' to be trifled with as [[spoiler:Lexi actually uses his papers to damage Boscha's eyes and Chloe ends up ''incinerating her''.]]
* DemotedToExtra: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]], since they still get some focus, but they're no longer the primary focus of the story, that goes to the Ruby Sulphur Trio.
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler:After Boscha's soul was split off from her body, the group makes a truce with Zenith Fantasy to help heal her before they go back to murdering one another.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: Even they find Louise's haughty attitude unbearable.
* ExpyCoexistence: They exist in the same world as the Ruby Sulphur Trio, who are based on them.
* FamedInStory: To give you a hint on how famous they are, their name is ''copyrighted'' on the Train. When Louise teams up with them in "The Spelling Bee Car" and calls them the "Legendary Red Lotus Trio", Chloe just squeals on how they're "Legendary".
* GoodCounterpart: Of the Ruby Sulphur Trio, as they are TrueCompanions on the Train helping to stop evil and get along very well, while Boscha is the VillainProtagonist and Chris and Phos are going with her so she doesn't go on a meltdown, and will go against her if need be.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: They have their own adventures separate from the Ruby Sulphur Trio. The rewrite reveals some of them involving Chloe having gone through six donut holers.
-->'''Atticus:''' But you're not planning to depend on your donut holer, are you? Because this is the seventh one you've got. You know, after losing to Dynamo, fighting back the dragon in the tower, rescuing Princess Peach from Bowser, launching Super Sonic against Perfect Chaos, fighting Sans-
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: Like their original counterparts with Atticus being the Nice, Lexi the mean and Chloe somewhere in the middle.
* KamehameHadoken: They perform the kamehameha [[spoiler: to try take out the Ruby Sulphur Trio and Zenith Fantasy]] near the end of Chapter 11. This becomes their power-up move against [[spoiler:Boa]] when empowered with Mahamayuri Train.
* PowerTrio: It's in the name.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: A girl with a donut holer, a talking dog and a sentient book dressed as a Yu-Gi-Oh character.
* SuperMode: They all get a collective one during the climax of the Boiling Underworld Car thanks to the Mahamayuri Train.

[[folder:Atticus]]
King of Corginia, Uniter of the Pembrokes and Cardigans and a proud member of the Red Lotus Trio.
----
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: While he's more calm and fatherly to Tulip in the show, he's shown to have a shorter fuse now that he has to take care of ''two'' children in Chloe and Lexi.
** Atticus had a very tense relationship with Simon and Grace in ''Blossoming Trail'', especially as The Fog Car saga continued. In here, they leave each other to their own devices.
* AdaptationalWimp: Zigzagged. Atticus in his show actually did go into battle and in ''Blossoming Trail'' aided in fights. The only fight he's gone through so far is a "battle of wits" in a chess game against Chris. However he works with Lexi and Chloe [[spoiler:when they do their KameHameHadoken via the Mahamayuri Train]].
* TheAtoner: He feels bad for not being of any help during the Cupid Bee Car fiasco, and wishes to make up for it.
* CoolCrown: He's constantly described with a crown on his head.
* TheComicallySerious: His tail really likes to waggle even when he's being serious and before he can forgive Chloe he requests belly rubs from her.
* DogsAreDumb: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. He's not stupid, but is less smart than Chris, as the sentient crystal ball beats him in chess.
* EvenTheDogIsAshamed: Pun not intended; he can only facepalm after hearing Chloe's KickTheDog response to Boa's explanation of how badly Boscha screwed up.
* HeroicDog: A corgi who is part of the Red Lotus Trio.
* IWarnedYou: Apparently warned Chloe not to enter the True Name Car as now everyone knows her real name (Koharu Sakuragi).
* NoNameGiven: He wasn't named initially and was labeled as "Dog with a crown".
* NonActionGuy: He doesn't fight -- as there's so much he can do as a dog -- so he instead plays chess with Chris.
* OhCrap: Has this look when [[spoiler: Boa]] calls Chloe by her real name (Koharu Sakuragi) as it sends the girl into a flying rage.
* OnlySaneMan: Between Chloe barreling into fights and not listening to reason and Lexi's impulsiveness and utter dislike for the Apex, he's the only one who has his act together.
* ParentalSubstitute: Kinda acts like one to Chloe, who has ParentalIssues with her father and is otherwise alone on her Train trip.
* RhetoricalQuestionBlunder: When he says he'd love to serve Peacock's pancakes in Corginia and the girl points out his subjects don't have hands, he answers they'll eat them with their mouths.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: He's a king of a car of corgis (and one golden retriever called "Ugly Irwin") who decides to come along with Chloe on her journey through the Train, acting as a voice of reason.
* TheSmartGuy: Of the Red Lotus Trio, mirroring Chris.
* SmartPeoplePlayChess: While Boscha, Chloe and Lexi are trying to kill each other, he and Chris play chess. From Chris's observations, Atticus isn't good at it.
* TalkingAnimal: A corgi capable of human speech.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After a few lines of dialogue, he disappears from the Cupid Bee Car saga for unknown reasons.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Lexi]]
One of the members of the Red Lotus Trio, a book who can detach his papers to a human form and fold his body to whatever he pleases. His and Chloe's meeting is the subject of the prequel story, ''Infinity Train: Melancholy Afterlife''.
----
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: While he doesn't get BuriedAlive like his ''Blossoming Trail'' self, he does have to confront the fact that the original reason why the Red Lotus Trio was formed, to stop the Apex, has been done by somebody else, but that sooner or later Chloe will leave the Train, and with that will come the end of the team.
* AdaptationalBackstoryChange: Lexi was never torn apart by Grace and Simon so he never ended up BuriedAlive. Instead, he's fine in ''Melancholy Afterlife'', just stuck on figuring out his human form.
* AdaptationalContextChange: Like his original counterpart, he has a desire to leave Azada and explore the rest of the Train. However, unlike his ''Blossoming Trail'' self, who was mostly stuck at Azada because his father didn't want him to leave for fear of his life, this Lexi legitimately ''can't'' leave Azada for long due to the way the Train works: as soon as he goes through a Portal in anywhere other than Azada, he'll return to the library, no questions asked. In ''Melancholy Afterlife'' -- after Chloe's failed attempt to reconnect with her father and coupled with Specter telling her to focus on slaying the Apex for the time being -- he gets the chance to leave when Chloe gives him an inviation to join her and Atticus.
* AdaptationalDumbass: His younger age, coupled with his more abrasive and impulsive behavior, leads him to take quite a lot of foolish decisions, like [[spoiler: blinding Boscha while Chloe's trying to reason with her]], and trying to attack Hazel when she reveals herself as part of the Apex.
* AdaptationExplanationExtrication: In ''Blossoming Trail'', Lexi's beef with the Apex was born after Simon and Grace not only tore his pages off, but left him BuriedAlive for nearly a decade. Since no such thing is implied to have happened in this universe, his anger at the Apex seems more born out of general rumors than anything personal.
* AdaptationalJerkass: He's a lot more temperamental and impulsive than his ''Blossoming Trail'' counterpart to coincide with his younger age. This nearly costs him his life when he tries to fight Hazel.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: Has no personal vendetta against the Apex, as he wasn't torn apart by Grace and Simon, but still contains his vindictive personality to want them dead. He's also much more pragmatic in general.
** In the prequel, he shows two different sides of him: he has a hard time deciding what to base his appearance off of, and shows a bit of a smug attitude when he thinks Chloe can't tell him an interesting story. This goes hand in hand with his age this time (12 - 13 compared to 16).
** Unlike ''Blossoming Trail'' Lexi knowing when to be cautious and trusting Chloe as to when to fight or not, he immediately goes after Hazel when she declares she's part of the Apex. This ends up with her landing a punch so hard that he has no choice to ''turn into his book self'' to recover.
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: He had a beef with Simon and Grace in ''Blossoming Trail'' because they tore his pages and left him BuriedAlive for years. In this story, they're essentially strangers, with Lexi's hatred of them being more because they're (former) Apex members rather than anything personal.
** His relationship with Chloe is also quite different too: in ''Blossoming Trail'' he is immediately apologetic after getting Chloe injured and treats her like an equal. In ''Melancholy Afterlife'', their relationship isn't as close since he smugly assumed Chloe couldn't tell a story that would pique his interest but they gradually warm up to each other over time.
* AdaptationalSuperpowerChange: In ''Blossoming Trail'', Lexi could shapeshift into different forms and control paper, and that was it. In here, while this is the same in his ''base'' form, his ''super'' mode gives him the ability to copy any paper he gets a hold on.
* AdaptationalWimp: It's almost pitiful how easy he is to dispatch compared to his ''Blossoming Trail'' self, as a direct consequence of him being made of paper being played more realistically than before.
* AgeLift: Was around the equivalent of 16 in ''Blossoming Trail'' (to match with his appearance of Specter) but is 12-13 here (to match Nail Saionji, who is actually 11 in canon)
* AngerBornOfWorry: Turns out his nasty attitude has been the result of this, as he's become worried sick of the fact that the reason the Red Lotus Trio was formed has long since been stopped by someone else, and sooner or later, Chloe ''will'' leave the Train and the trio will have to separate.
* AnimateInanimateObject: Again, he's actually a book, but he just separates his pages to give him a human appearance.
* BadassOnPaper: Pun not intended; being a member of the Red Lotus Trio would lead you to believe he's, at minimum, a badass who can hold his own in a fight. In practice, however, his impulsive and reckless nature makes him a nuisance more than anything.
* BerserkButton: The Apex's existence as a whole sends him on a flying rage, which he tries to show with Hazel.
** Also, if anybody accidentally hurts Chloe, get ready to earn his wrath.
* BirdsOfAFeather: He gets along incredibly well with Chloe, who can be just as impulsive as he is.
** [[AvertedTrope Averted]] with Hazel. They're both temperamental kids who hold a disdain for the Apex, but their hatred towards each other is just as great, if not greater, than that.
* BookBurning: On the receiving end when [[spoiler: Hazel throws a fireball at him after he mocks her over the derailment of her plans.]]
* BoomHeadshot: Peacock shoots him in the head when he fails to put filter on his mouth. Luckily, ShapeDiesShifterSurvives is fully in effect here.
* BoisterousWeakling: He may talk a big game, but there's no doubt that if ShapeDiesShifterSurvives wasn't in effect, he'd be dead ''a long'' time ago.
* BullyingADragon: Has a real bad habit with this trope.
** After the above trope, he thinks it's a good idea to snap at Peacock, ''who still has a gun at her disposal''. Needless to say, Lexi gets quickly put in his place afterwards.
** Before that, he manages to piss off ''Boscha'' by [[spoiler: slicing her eyes with his papers]] when Chloe was trying to ''reason'' with her.
** In general, he can't seem to wrap his head around the fact that Hazel isn't someone you wanna mess with. Not only does he ''immediately'' attack her when she reveals herself to be part of the Apex, but [[spoiler: when Hazel's plan gets derailed due to Hazy revealing her true nature to Amelia, he has the audacity to ''mock her'' about it, which nearly ends in his death when she throws a fireball at him.]]
** Come The Azada Car, and Lexi takes this trope to its literal conclusion by threatening ''an actual dragon'' when [[spoiler: Emily summons her dragon, Elliot, to force everyone to take her to the forbidden section.]]
* CharacterDevelopment: After some self reflection in Act 2, he lets go of his grudge towards the Apex and Boa which culminates in him [[spoiler:asking his father to let Specter (whose mirror is shattered and a copy is now on the Train but is now a blank slate) to let him take care of the newly formed youkai which Titus accepts.]]
* CompositeCharacter:
** His anger issues, impulsive nature, and harsh attitude all come from Parker, who's called Sota in this universe.
** His inability to ''shut up'' whenever prompted is taken from ''Sara Dyktalis'', of all characters.
* CombatPragmatist: Aside from throwing papers into people's faces to blind them, he also [[spoiler:will slice their eyes, as Boscha can attest. Even Chloe is shocked at that tactic.]]
* DartboardOfHate: He has one of these with a symbol of the Apex as the bull's-eye in Azada.
* DecompositeCharacter: His devotion and feelings (and original appearance as Specter) to Chloe is given to... well, take a guess.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: It's safe to say this is easily one of his biggest flaws.
** He immediately tries to join Chloe in her fight against Boscha, ignoring not only how Chloe wants to ''help'' her, but that Boscha, being a fire magic user, is practically a ManOfKryptonite to him.
** Then, when Chloe's about to get her to see reason, Lexi slices her eyes with his papers, which only succeeds in pissing her off.
** Later, when he first encounters Hazel and she reveals herself to be part of the Apex, Lexi wastes no time attacking her, even after Hazel shows herself to be much more dangerous than she lets on.
* DumbBlonde: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]], since he's more impulsive rather than outright ''dumb'', but he has blonde hair and has a tendency for rather poor planning.
* EmpathicShapeshifter: A [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] variation. Technically, nothing's stopping Lexi from picking his own form, but he's having such trouble picking a form that he lets Chloe pick one for him to save himself the trouble.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: In ''Melancholy Afterlife'', he reveals himself to Chloe as someone proud and focused on wanting to deal with the Apex, and also shows that he has an abrasive side when he snidely thinks that Chloe can't weave a tale good enough for him. Later, upon hearing Chloe's story as to what got her on the Train, he's shown looking very hurt and realizing that he's been quite an insensitive prick.
* EyeScream: [[spoiler:Uses his papers to slice Boscha's remaining two eyes to blind her temporarily, which he does after she herself shot a fireball at his face. All this really does is piss her off, by the way.]]
* {{Expy}}: Given the ''Yu-Gi-Oh!'' character he was in ''Blossoming Trail'' and how he's described as "blond with pale clothing", he's presumably based his appearance on Joey Wheeler/Katsuya Jounochi. However, it's eventually revealed he's actually based on [[Anime/YuGiOhSEVENS Nail Saionji]] but he and Joey have met in the past. [[spoiler:When powered up by the Mahamayuri Train he takes on the appearance of [[Anime/YuGiOhArcV Zarc]].]]
* ExpyCoexistence: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. He takes his form from [[spoiler: Daiki Chienen]] from the Pokémon World, but they don't exist on the same world at the same time: Lexi's on the Train, [[spoiler: Daiki]]'s on the Pokémon World.
* ExactEavesdropping: In ''Melancholy Afterlife'', he's around just in time to hear a simplified retelling of Chloe's life before she entered the Train.
* FantasticRacism: He holds nothing but contempt for the Apex, despite having no real connection or relationship to them in this story. This extends to Zenith Fantasy, despite the fact they have practically no relation to them anymore.
* FantasticSlurs: "Free Riders" for Passengers, the Apex in particular.
* FatalFlaw: He can be quite impulsive and doesn't think things through, something that his father notes to Chloe.
* FearlessFool: No matter the situation and how outmatched he is, Lexi always faces it with determination. [[DeconstructedTrope Even when it would be better if he kept his mouth shut]].
* FlightStrengthHeart: In his super mode, he can shapeshift, control paper, fly, and copy any paper he gets a hold on. [[spoiler: Boa]] finds a way to make the last ability a case of HeartIsAnAwesomePower.
* FlyingBooks: He's accompanied by a few of these at the Mavericks Car, a reference to his home being a library filled with flying books.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Boscha. Both of them have a notable temper that causes them to rush headfirst into danger. Difference is, Boscha is tough enough to take whatever's thrown at her, while a good, strong fist will send Lexi back to his book form. Boscha's a witch with fire powers and psychic abilities, while Lexi's a Denizen who can shapeshift and control paper. They both hate the Apex, but while ItsPersonal with Boscha due to her ideals, Lexi's hatred is more of a general thing due to them terrorizing the Train for so long. Finally, their relationship with Chloe is different: Boscha had high expectations for her, but when she didn't meet them, she disregarded her as a fraud, while Lexi was initially skeptical, but eventually grew to like her.
** To Hazel. Both of them have a hatred for the Apex, but while Lexi hates them for being a pest to the Train in general, Hazel resents them for seemingly taking Amelia away from her. Both of them are shapeshifters, but while Lexi can change his entire form, Hazel's shapeshifting is much more limited. Lexi is a clear JerkWithAHeartOfGold, Hazel's a BitchInSheepsClothing. And while both of them [[spoiler: are Denizens]], Lexi was created as one, while Hazel's [[spoiler: a failed attempt at recreating Amelia's dead fiance, creating a Human-Denizen hybrid instead.]]
** To MT. Both of them are Denizens with humanoid forms: MT's form is her base form, while Lexi's a ShapeshifterDefaultForm. MT is literally MadeOfIron and really hard to hurt, Lexi is made of paper and can't take many hits before reverting back into a book. Finally, while they both dislike the Apex, MT was wronged by them sending the Reflection Police at her, while Lexi has only heard bad things about them.
* FragileSpeedster: He's rather quick on his feet, but he can neither deliver nor withstand a strong attack.
* FreudianExcuse: Twofold.
** The reason he treats Zenith Fantasy and the Apex so badly is because he's taking what he saw of Apex Fantasy, a splinter group, and placing the groups on the same pedestal as an attempt to continue with the original goal of stopping them.
** And all his anger and petty behavior? It's because he's seriously worried over the fact that the Red Lotus Trio's reason to be made has not only been already done, but with Chloe making progress, she's gonna leave eventually.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: As [[spoiler: Boa]] puts it bluntly, just because he had a bad encounter with an Apex splinter group, and is worried about the end of the group that took him out of Azada, is no excuse to try look for a goal that's no longer there, nor harass entities who are nothing like the group he faced.
* FriendlessBackground: Before joining Chloe and Atticus on their journey across the Train, after being called their friend, Lexi mentions never having had friends before.
* GoodIsNotNice: He can be rather impulsive and insensitive at times, but he's on the side of good.
* GoThroughMe: He stands in Hazel's way when [[spoiler: the Zenith Fantasy kids run away with the Cupid Bee in tow.]]
* GrowingWings: In the rewrite of Chapter 13, he grows a pair of paper wings in order to join with Boscha and Zenith Fantasy's fight on the skies, alongside Chloe.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: His humanoid form has blonde hair, and while [[GoodIsNotNice he's a little rough around the edges]], he's ultimately a good guy.
* HateAtFirstSight: He hates Specter as soon as he appears on the Train, not only because he's partially responsible for Chloe ending up on the Train, but because [[spoiler: Specter nearly ''strangled him to death'' when they first met.]]
** You could argue the same with Hazel, who not only makes a bad first impression by revealing she's part of the Apex, but them comes ''this'' close to outright ''killing'' him were it not for ShapeDiesShifterSurvives being in effect.
* HeadbuttingHeroes: He has this dynamic with Chloe after the rewrite.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: His super form's ability to copy and multiply papers doesn't sound particularly impressive... Until ''The Owl House'''s Glyphs are thrown into the question.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: What his meeting with Joey Wheeler was like is anyone's guess.
* {{Hypocrite}}: This guy casually projects what he saw with Apex Fantasy on both the Apex ''and'' Zenith Fantasy, painting them as a copy of the former, and yet he makes it clear he won't make [[spoiler: Boa]] responsible for what Boscha did. Realizing this is his first step to making amends.
* IgnoredExpert: He's more than ready, and happy, to tell Chloe about who Mahamayuri is, but is ignored as soon as he admits she's not a demon. WordOfGod is that the ''Blossoming Trail'' Chloe would ''always'' open up and listen to him, even if she's not feeling like it. In Act 2, Chloe apologizes for ignoring what he has to say and is open to learning more about Mahamayuri.
* IrrationalHatred: Hating the Apex is understandable, given that they've been terrorizing the Train for many years. Less understandable is hating Zenith Fantasy, who not only have no connection to the Apex anymore, but are actively trying to turn over a new leaf.
* JerkassHasAPoint: He's acting like quite the UngratefulBastard while doing so, but he's not wrong in that, given how the Train as a whole sees Zenith Fantasy as an extension of the Apex, [[spoiler: Hazel Hughes]] might be better off without them.
** In ''Melancholy Afterlife'' he goes on a passionate speech to his father pointing out that they just can't sit around and do nothing because one day the Apex will come and kill them. Atticus even remarks that Lexi's logic is valid.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's quite rough around the edges, but he's a good person underneath it... to the people he likes.
* KickTheDog: Not only is his "congratulations" to Zenith Fantasy slightly condescending, but he then goes to try convince [[spoiler: Hazel Hughes]], who they ''just'' saved, ''into leaving them and go on her own''.
* LeeroyJenkins: He wastes no time dashing towards Hazel when she reveals herself as a member of the Apex. He nearly pays it with his life.
* LightIsGood: Has light blond hair and dresses in pale clothing, and is specifically based off Nail Saionji who was a ''much'' [[NobleDemon nicer]] [[EvilVirtues person]] than [[{{Sadist}} Specter]] [[LightIsNotGood was.]]
* LogicalWeakness: Since he's made of paper, he has two:
** He can't stand fire, meaning Boscha's practically a ManOfKryptonite for him.
** His papers allow him to change into whatever he wants, but since it's ''paper'', he doesn't have much endurance. Hazel demonstrates this ''with extreme prejudice''.
* MissingStepsPlan: One of his flaws, according to his father. Lexi wants to go out and stop the Apex, but he can only do so if he has a passenger partner. And even then, there's also the manner of how ''long'' it would take to find the Apex, not to mention being completely outnumbered, overpowered, etc.
* MisplacedRetribution: The only reason he keeps harassing Zenith Fantasy and, to an extent, the Apex is to make them pay for what Apex Fantasy, a splinter group of the latter, did.
* MisterExposition: ''Tries'' to be this to explain who Mahamayuri is. Chloe dismisses him when she finds out that she's not a demon.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: In Chapter 13's rewrite, Chloe came ''this'' close to calming Boscha down, but Lexi just ''had'' to pull an EyeScream on her and piss her off.
* NinjaLog: [[spoiler: When Elliot tries to pummel him with his hand, what he finds in the resulting crater is a log, with the real Lexi appearing behind Emily.]]
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: In the Cupid Bee Car, he went toe-to-toe with Hazel in a match that had to be very gory as he's reduced to his book form with torn pages and ink spilling out.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: He turns into a giant paper dragon to try make sure he, the Red Lotus Trio and Amelia leave the Paradise Lost Car. At least until Boscha hits him...
* PaperMaster: He knows how to use his papers as weapons, as Boscha can attest.
* PaperPeople: Like in ''Blossoming Trail'', but this time he's shown with multiple books surrounding him. However he's shown that if he takes too much damage, he'll revert back into his book form until he can recover.
* PrecisionFStrike: Calls Zenith Fantasy "assholes" whereas the original Lexi had a clean mouth.
* ProperlyParanoid: When he finds Sara, who's part of the Apex, at the Cupid Bee Car, his first thought is that Hazel is there as well. Which is eventually proven right.
* PurelyAestheticGlasses: Being a book, he probably doesn't even need to keep the glasses he formed with his humanoid self, but Chloe picked the form for him, so it sticks.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: Courtesy of Hazel.
* RoyalBrat: Is the son of the king of Azada, and he's got a seriously nasty attitude.
* ShapeshifterDefaultForm: He mostly walks around in a form based on Nail Saionji, but he can change his form at will.
* ShapeDiesShifterSurvives: Pretty much the only reason he's still alive.
** Hazel's punch leaves his humanoid form with a TorsoWithAView, but as he's sent back to Chloe, he's reduced back to his book form.
** Later, when Peacock finds him too annoying, she [[BoomHeadshot shoots him in the head]], sending him back to his book form.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]]. He's based off Nail Saionji -- who had glasses with white frames -- but he's given the AdaptationalDumbass treatment here.
* StockNinjaWeaponry: He has some kunai under his disposal, though he rarely uses them: he first shows them off to Chloe alongside his DartboardOfHate, and then ineffectually uses them against Hazel.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: When it comes to Passengers, he's very nice to Chloe, while everybody else depends on their connection to the Apex: if they got no connection, he's indifferent at best, a JerkWithAHeartOfGold at worst. And if they ''do'' have a connection, he becomes insufferable.
* TorsoWithAView: Hazel's punch leaves a large hole where his humanoid form's stomach would be, with Lexi being reduced back to his book form soon after.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: He thinks it's a good idea to try attack ''Hazel'' despite her being the second in-command of the Apex. You can guess how well that goes.
* UngratefulBastard: It's quite telling that he's the ''only'' member of the Red Lotus Trio who neither thanks Zenith Fantasy for their help (Chloe) or congratulates them for them [[spoiler: saving Hazel Hughes]] (Atticus). In fact, he tries to [[spoiler: convince Hazel Hughes to leave behind her rescuers because of them being former Apex members.
* VagueAge: His age is hard to pin down since he's a book and his humanoid form doesn't usually have facial features until Chloe gives him some; he's supposedly the equivalent of a 12-13 year old boy [[spoiler:but his SuperMode makes him look like ''Zarc'' who was in his late teens.]]
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: He can transform himself into different shapes due to his papers like a cat or even a copy of Atticus if he chooses.
* WouldHurtAChild: Tries to attack Hazel, who is only ''six and a half'', when she admits to being part of the Apex.
