* ''Roleplay/SurvivalOfTheFittest'' character Vesa Turunen went from an upbeat jock concerned for the well-being of his best friend to a [[DeathSeeker deathseeking]] psycho almost entirely lacking in empathy, devoid of any real CharacterDevelopment to get to this point.
* Compare WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic in his last PlotHole appearance to his state in "The Review Must Go On" a month later. The former is still snarky, but more caring, more mature and finally doing a job he loves. The latter hounds Doug into bringing him back, insults with homophobic slurs, is played uncomfortably evil and apparently his desperate desire to atone in ''WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee'' was a paradox.
** [[WebVideo/BumReviews Chester A Bum]]. He was a drug-addled NightmareFuelStationAttendant {{woobie}} who nevertheless came off as a sweet optimistic guy with intelligent opinions hidden under the insanity. But 2013 had him go on completely lucid rants where he slut shames {{Former Child Star}}s, makes PrisonRape jokes and complains about anyone offended by racism.
** Almost mockingly done with Santa Christ. Pre-''Film/SonOfTheMask'', he was the only purely good member of WebSite/ChannelAwesome and all the psuedo-sociopath reviewers treated him like a TeamDad. He could hold a grudge and there was an end to his patience, but he was an overall NiceGuy. In Critic's reboot however, he's bloodthirsty, stupid, quick to anger, tells Critic he's made to suffer and makes him cry, is friends with the devil and is openly told he has a sadist side.
* The title character of WebVideo/ChadVader, in earlier episodes was a more direct parody of his famous, elder brother; having similar character traits and motifs, though not as intelligent, charismatic or successful as [[Franchise/StarWars Darth Vader]]. In later seasons however, Chad has devolved into more of an idiotic, petty, cowardly manchild that just happens to wear armor identical to that of the infamous Sith Lord.
* Coach Z, ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'''s coach. Originally, he was a well-meaning coach with a speech impediment. Now... well, [[http://www.hrwiki.org/wiki/Coach_Z%27s_Problems the Homestar Runner fan wiki has a list of his "more than two praeblems"]]. As said elsewhere on this wiki, though, this is arguably for the better.
* Mr. Goodman from ''WebVideo/SuperMarioLogan'': Throughout most of the series, he was actually a good man, if somewhat of a weird and ditzy Cloudcuckoolander with mannerisms similar to Mr. Mackey. He was calm, reasonable, and law abiding, making sure others did the same. He ''did'' have his moments of antagonism or questionability here and there (like every other character), but moments were all they were. He also had many jobs in the series, such as being a police officer. Since the 2016 videos, his personality took a 180. He has grown to be foul-mouthed, temperamental, greedy, rude, and eventually, heartless, ruthless, evil, and cannibalistic, often willing to go great lengths to torment someone or do something completely immoral just to secure more wealth and power, or to satisfy his horrific obsession with ripping off testicles and nipples, and then eating them, as well as objectifying women and treating them as property. Also, most of his jobs consist of owning everything in sight, [[DrunkWithPower which gives him the power to get away with everything he does]], and the cops are dirty enough to take bribes.
* Throughout ''WebAnimation/RedVsBlue'', Tucker [[CharacterDevelopment develops]] from a lazy CasanovaWannabe BumblingSidekick into a competent and heroic soldier, albeit one who was still something of a pervert and very insecure. Season 16 promptly jettisons his development and turns him back into an irresponsible pervert, while also inexplicably turning him into a massive {{Jerkass}}. He's [[CharacterRerailment rerailed]] in Season 17, only for his brief appearance in Season 18 to once again derail him, this time into an inept egomaniac easily defeated by the bad guys.
* ''WebAnimation/BattleForDreamIsland'': With the exceptions of Ruby and Ice Cube, who have stayed rather consistent, the shift from ''WebAnimation/BattleForDreamIslandAgain'' and ''WebAnimation/{{IDFB}}'' to ''WebAnimation/BattleForBFDI'' resulted in the entirety of [[GirlPosse FreeSmart]] becoming derailed, without any given explanation besides "[[CerebusRetcon they've always been this way]]". Pencil is changed from a LovableAlphaBitch into an oppressive tyrant, Match is changed from a stern, but reasonable BetaBitch into a bossy KnowNothingKnowItAll, Bubble is changed from a loyal teammate who's not afraid to speak her mind into a subservient ExtremeDoormat, and Book is changed from the OnlySaneWoman into a ControlFreak who's quick to deride people for their seeming lack of loyalty.
