* One episode of ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfSonicTheHedgehog'' had Scratch and Grounder attempt to capture the blue blur by setting up a fake [[TrademarkFavoriteFood chili dog]] stand. Sonic [[PaperThinDisguise disguises]] himself as a "chili dog inspector" and critiques Grounder's chili for not being spicy enough. He "helps" Grounder by giving him a can of "''Very'' Hot Chili" to add to the mix and then tricks Grounder into eating a hot dog covered with said chili, causing the latter to explode like a rocket. Sonic then proceeds to serve two dogs (with regular chili) for himself and Tails.
* In the "Too Young" episode of ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'', Princess Bubblegum accidentally invents a Blazing Inferno Hellfire Sauce while trying to create a new bath product.
* The B plot of the ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDad'' episode "Enter Stanman" has Roger work to develop the perfect hot sauce. Or make that the perfect hot sauce ''name'', cycling through several before settling on "Dr. Donkeydick's Anal Holocaust".
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Amphibia}}'': Hop Pop grows “Pain Peppers”, which, according to Sprig, are “so hot they’ll make you wish you were dead.” Just touching one with the tip of your tongue is enough to make one’s whole mouth erupt in flames.
* In ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'', Fire Nation fire flakes turn out to be, well, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin hot]], as Sokka finds out the hard way. [[BigEater Doesn't stop him from taking a liking to them, though.]] Meanwhile, Mai can munch them down like popcorn!
* In one episode of ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'', a [[HarmlessVillain goofy]] villain calling himself the "Condiment King" dealt with someone who tried to stop him by squirting him in the mouth with a packet of hot sauce.
* ''WesternAnimation/BeavisAndButtHead'': The MissingEpisode "Down Mexico Way" has our {{Anti Hero}}es decide to try the local cuisine. While waiting, they [[KickTheDog torment a dog]] by force-feeding it the bottle of "Killer Hot Sauce" on their table. This pisses off the Mexican cook, who reaches for the "Mexican Death Sauce" (which is in a bottle with smoke coming out of it) and puts it on their tacos. Cue FireBreathingDiner.
* ''WesternAnimation/BigCityGreens'': The episode "Feud Fight" has a subplot of Gramma going out to buy the hottest peppers she can find. She soon returns with "Sultan Peppers", chilis so hot that they make eyes water just by looking at them. They prove so hot that they melt a supposedly indestructible tooth filling.
* The super-hot chili peppers that prove to to be the best defence against the mutant raccoons in the ''WesternAnimation/CampLakebottom'' episode "High Plains Garbage Eater".
* ''WesternAnimation/CatDog'': In the episode "You're Fired", [=CatDog=] eat a jar of Peruvian Atomic Peppers whole and they start to go out of control, burning down a Mexican restaurant in the process.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Chowder}}'' gets a whole episode based around this, considering it's a cartoon about food. The episode (aptly named "the Fire Breather") introduces the rarest and hottest peppers in the world, the Dancing Diablos. Peppers so hot that it turns your stomach into a furnace and makes you breath fire every time you open your mouth. Guess who decides to eat all of them?
-->'''Mung Dall:''' Chowder! Look what you did! [[MediumAwareness Now the animators have to draw all this fire!]]
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'':
** Scrooge's chili, in "Ducks of the West". It turns everybody who eats it (aside from Scrooge) into a FireBreathingDiner. Scrooge's unintentional victims then head to a nearby horse trough to cool out their mouths.
---> '''Scrooge''': I may be a city slicker, but we'll have a hot time in the old town tonight!
** Ma Beagle's homemade chili in "The Masked Mallard". The Beagles use it to melt glass and (attempt) to steal a diamond.
---> '''Big Time Beagle''': Ma's homemade chili. The most corrosive substance known to man.
* The "Honor Thy Ed" episode of ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'' starts with the Eds having set up a taco stand selling "tacos" made of paper plates, grass, and shredded crayons. After Ed, ExtremeOmnivore he is, eats several crayons thinking they are flavors, Edd humors him and takes a bite of one. He is disgusted and needs water, but the closest thing is Eddy's Brother's Armenian Secret Hot Sauce. He guzzles part of it and seems unfazed at first. Ed also consumes some. Eddy thinks the sauce didn't work and also eats some. It's at that moment the effect takes hold, however. We see a DiscretionShot from down the street as a tower of flame erupts from the stand and the Eds sticking their mouths on a sprinkler.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'': In "[[Recap/FuturamaS7E7TheSixMillionDollarMon The Six Million Dollar Mon]]", Hermes spills one drop of sauce from his wife's spicy curried goat, and it eats its way through the dining-room table, the floor, two other residences underneath, and on down to Robot Hell, where it scalds the Robot Devil. [[UnaffectedBySpice Hermes himself thinks that it needs more hot sauce]]. This ends up saving him later on in the episode; years of his wife's overly spicy cooking somehow made his ''skin'' extremely spicy, and when AxCrazy robot Roberto eats a piece... [[ImMelting he melts]].
* ''ComicStrip/{{Garfield}}'':
** Grandma's sausage gravy in ''A Garfield Christmas''. It started out as Mom's normal gravy, but Grandma snuck in and added chili powder while whispering about how her gravy won first prize at the fair three years in a row while Mom's didn't even place. A bit later, Garfield comes in and gets some on his finger, then licks it. Cue the fire breath a second later, and then Garfield going "Perfect!"
** In ''WesternAnimation/GarfieldAndFriends'', we see him using this on a horse named Certain Death.
* ''WesternAnimation/GoofTroop'': In one episode, Pete tries to prank Goofy with the spiciest sandwich ever. He loads it up with normal hot sauce and spicy ingredients, and adds a drop of Hellfire Sauce that makes the sandwich ''boil''. Goofy eats it without flinching and asks for some hot sauce. Pete, in a state of shocked fury, [[HoistByHisOwnPetard takes a big bite of the sandwich, turns red, runs outside and drinks his entire swimming pool]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Grossology}}'': Pink-Eye attempts to torture Lance Boil by force-feeding 10 bottles of this stuff. It fails because Boil has replaced his stomach with an artificial digestive system.
* In the ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold'' episode "On the Lam", Harold, Stinky, and Sid launch a rocket filled with vinegar, baking soda, and Stinky's bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce, which they [[spoiler:believed to]] blow up an old police station with, when it was really [[spoiler:demolished by Ernie]].
* The Diablo Sauce in ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'', which Ron uses packets of for hand warmers at one point. They're spicy enough to fry a robot's circuits.
* A staple for food-related pranks in ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' cartoons; often the effect can be done with plain old Tabasco sauce.
* ''WesternAnimation/MiddlemostPost'': One of the challenges Parker and Angus take in the "Challenges" short is the "Hot Toast Challenge", which is about eating a piece of toast with such a sauce. Merely poking it with their tongues apparently causes them to explode into fire.
* In the ''WesternAnimation/{{Mixels}}'' Moon Madness special, Rokit's hot sauce causes a Nixel to go up in a mushroom cloud when Rokit offers the sauce to him, then it comes back down after a few seconds. When Rokit eats the sauce, his head flies off.
* In ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', Pinkie Pie apparently loves this. She likes to put it on ''cupcakes''. Her brand is so hot that, when Twilight Sparkle accidentally drank some, her tail and mane caught on fire and she let out the classic "train whistle" steam clouds out her ears.
** However, not even Pinkie can handle the spiciness of liquid rainbow[[labelnote:*]]yes, literal rainbow[[/labelnote]]. She turns different colors and breathes a small gout of flame before going weak on her knees and running off, presumably to get something to abate the taste. Keep in mind that this is a character that ''eats pastries with hot sauce''. However, nowhere in the series is liquid rainbow used as a spice. If it's spicier than actual hot sauce, that's probably for the best.
* In the ''Animation/{{Pucca}}'' short "Ring Ring's Party Favours", rather than feeding it to anyone, Ring Ring attempts to sabotage Pucca's party by pouring a drop of hot sauce on the floor, which then spreads and heats up the vicinity for the partygoers, but she just ends up creating a DanceSensation.
* ''WesternAnimation/RegularShow'':
** In "Weekend at Benson's", when Mordecai and Rigby [[OfCorpseHesAlive try to pass off an unconscious Benson as awake]], they get him involved in a spicy food contest with a guy. Benson comes to just as the guy prepares a concoction he calls "Mississippi Queen", so he has Mordecai and Rigby drink it as well. The "Mississippi Queen" is made of kimchi, pasta sauce, sashimi, chuco, soy sauce, ''whole clams on the shell'', shrimp, mayo, and hot chili peppers poured into a huge glass and served with a little cocktail umbrella. At first, they feel nothing, but [[MushroomSamba suddenly start hallucinating]] [[DisneyAcidSequence while the song of the same name plays and wake up the next morning in the park]].[[note]]FridgeLogic kicks in when you take into account that Mordecai is a bird, meaning that he shouldn't even be affected by capsaicin to begin with...[[/note]]
** Another episode had Skips go looking for some hot wings to uphold a tradition in their family before they get married (in this case, his cousin, Quips, was tying the knot). But because of National Wing Day, all the shops are sold out, save for one in a bayou that'll only hand over their wings if said person can complete their challenge of eating some ''very'' spicy wings. So spicy that they have a wall of people who ''died'' trying to finish it. Skips has to undergo a BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind while doing the challenge in which he literally fights the wings as he's eating them. The sauce consists of mutated ghost peppers, ''hot magma extract'' and [[ExaggeratedTrope black widow venom!]] The wings are literally on fire when they're served, the sauce burns right through both the plate and the table [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and they throw away the blue cheese dressing]] before the challenge begins.
* In the ''WesternAnimation/RockosModernLife'' episode "Flu-In-U-Enza," the Enchanted Upchucks prepare a spicy concoction for Rocko to help him get better. It works.
* ''WesternAnimation/Rugrats1991'':
** Subverted in "[[Recap/RugratsS3E1DummiBearDinnerDisasterTwinsPique Dummi Bear Dinner Disaster]]"; One of the various ways that Angelica tries to ruin a dinner between Susie's dad and his boss so [[ItMakesSenseInContext Susie wouldn't have to move away to a new house]] was by spiking the main course with "Volcano Brand" hot sauce. This plan backfires when it turns out that the boss ''loves'' spicy food and applauds the cooking as delicious.
** Played straight in "[[Recap/RugratsS6E23PartnersInCrimeThumbsUp Thumbs Up]]"; To get the babies to stop sucking their thumbs, Lou has Didi make a spicy chili, but he accidentally has her put a tablespoon of cayenne pepper instead of a teaspoon that the recipe called for. When Stu tastes the chili, his face turns red and he drinks from the kitchen sink to extinguish the spiciness. Didi refuses to put the chili on the babies' thumbs and is about to throw it away, but Lou tells her it'll still make a zesty barbecue sauce.
* ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDoo'':
** ''WesternAnimation/WhatsNewScoobyDoo'' introduced Five-Skull Fire Sauce, which at one point is used to ''burn through ropes''.
** In one episode of ''WesternAnimation/BeCoolScoobyDoo,'' Shaggy and Scooby try a hot sauce called "The Grim [=ReaPepper=]" which is so hot that the waiter has to hold it with a pair of tongs and it burns Shaggy's finger when he tries to touch it. When the duo actually do taste it, it burns up Scooby's eyebrows and causes Shaggy's eye juices to ''boil.''
* The Merciless Hot Pepper of Quetzalsacatenango, also known as the Guatemalan Insanity Pepper from ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' episode "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS8E9ElViajeMisteriosoDeNuestroJomer The Mysterious Voyage of Homer]]". They're "grown deep in the jungle primeval by the inmates of a Guatemalan insane asylum." Homer has to lacquer his mouth and esophagus in order to eat one, and is ''still'' driven temporarily insane by its spiciness.
** In ''[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS6E23TheSpringfieldConnection The Springfield Connection]]'', Homer uses Marge's police pepper spray to add spice to his food.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs1981'' episode "Gingerbread Smurfs", Brainy has Clumsy add volcanic lava juice to his recipe for making gingerbread cookies to make them really spicy. It is so powerful that it blows up the kitchen when it is added.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'':
** In "Karate Choppers", Sandy threatens [=SpongeBob=] with a single drop of hot sauce to the tongue. A drop of hot sauce that [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment talks]], thus providing the image quote above. After [=SpongeBob=] surrenders, she casually starts [[HotSauceDrinking gulping the stuff down]] like it was lemonade.
** In "Bubble Troubles", [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick decide to substitute their bubble soap with hot sauce, creating spicy bubbles that burn anything on contact. This becomes a problem when they destroy the oxygen tanks to Sandy's treedome, requiring them to find her a new source of oxygen as she becomes increasingly delirious.
** In "Bunny Hunt", [=SpongeBob=] covers his furniture in hot sauce so the sea bunny he took in will stop chewing on it, but it ends up making the furniture even more appealing and turns the sea bunny into a FireBreathingDiner that nearly destroys [=SpongeBob=]'s Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy comic collection.
** In "Pat the Horse", during [=SpongeBob=] and Mr. Krab's race, Krabs tries to hinder Patrick by pouring spicy mustard on his tongue, this backfires as he and [=SpongeBob=] blast by with a giant jet coming out of Patrick's mouth.
* In ''WesternAnimation/StarTrekLowerDecks'', there's Ketracel White-Hot sauce, whose label boasts a rating of 17,000,000 Scoville Heat Units[[note]]That's 1,000,000 units more than pure capsaicin![[/note]]. Boimler adds a couple drops to his food and is in agony for about 30 seconds before finally passing out. Mariner spends that same 30 seconds dumping the entire bottle all over her food and then casually remarks that it has a "[[UnaffectedBySpice nice little kick]]".
* Fire Salt in ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse''. Consuming a full bottle turns anyone into a FireBreathingDiner. As in [[NotHyperbole actually breathing fire]] and setting things around him ablaze.
* ''WesternAnimation/StormHawks'' gives us Skyside Shanty's signature extra potent, quadruple malt vinegar.
-->'''Junko:''' Kinda sour, but I like it.\
'''Finn:''' What a shock.
* ''WesternAnimation/SwatKats'' T-Bone and Razor start an episode off by having a hot pepper eating contest which gets called off when an emergency comes in with Razor pocketing one of pepper when T-Bone wasn't looking and claiming he ate it. It comes in handy later when dealing with Dark Kat's forces and one tries to jump on Razor. To which he gets it off him by squirting some of the pepper juice in it's face.
* ''WesternAnimation/TazMania'': In "Francis Takes a Stand", Francis switches Taz's lemonade recipe with a recipe for a Blazing Inferno Hellfire Sauce. Naturally, Francis ends up drinking more of the stuff than Taz does.
* As very spicy mustard (which features a different chemical than capsaicin to produce its spice) used to be much more common, some older works feature this instead of the modern hot sauce. ''WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry'' features this in several episodes.
** You can get very hot mustard as a condiment at your average Chinese take-out restaurant. WARNING: Do NOT eat more than a light glaze of this stuff on your food - unless you have a cold and you ''really'' want to clear out your sinuses.
** Very hot mustard is also commonly found in Russian cuisine. In Russia, you can buy this stuff in quite large jars cheaply.
* "Grandpappy's Texas Tin-Horn Sizzlin' Salsa Sauce" in ''WesternAnimation/XiaolinShowdown''. Two bottles of it turn Dojo, a dragon who can normally only breath soot clouds, into a volcano.
