{{Batman Gambit}}s in {{Web Original}}s.

* In one episode of Creator/AchievementHunter's ''[[LetsPlay/AchievementHunterMinecraftSeries Let's Play Minecraft]]'', where the aim is to build a Nether portal, Geoff attempts to pull one off by following Jack and, when he builds a portal, [[KaizoTrap kill him and yank it for his own]]. However, it gets derailed when Geoff loses sight of Jack and only gets put back on when Jack is [[HoistByHisOwnPetard killed by falling gravel]]. Geoff does take it, but he feels it's a hollow victory.
* ''Website/TheBestPageInTheUniverse'': Maddox managed to pull this one off against a hate-mailer when she insulted him, calling him an "Angry Bitter Man". Instead of ripping apart the hate-mail like he usually does, he instead responded to the hate-mail in an unconventional way by saying how he was [[FreudianExcuse abused as a child]] and his writing is a way of expressing himself. She responded back to him in a somewhat understanding manner, only to have Maddox responded back: "Just Kidding. Tool."
* ''WebVideo/CriticalRole'': In campaign 3, Ludinus Da'leth's plan to [[spoiler:unleash a GodEating monstrosity from the red moon Ruidus]] hinges entirely on one of these. Six years prior, he sent Otohan Thull after Keyleth, the Voice of the Tempest and leader of the Air Ashari, drawing her attention and ensuring that when Bells Hells came after him, she'd be called in as TheCavalry. When she arrived, Ludinus immediately incapacitated her with Power Word Stun, and Otohan started laying into her, nearly killing her before being interrupted by [[spoiler:Vax'ildan, Champion of the Raven Queen and Keyleth's lover before his death, who intercepts the blow and stands between them to protect her. However, the entire setup turns out to be a trap for ''Vax'', as Ludinus immediately uses focused arcane energy to compress him down into a ball [[PoweredByAForsakenChild and slot him into the Malleus Key, using him as a divine lens to break open the barrier around Ruidus]].]]
* In ''Roleplay/DawnOfANewAgeOldportBlues'', Agent Travers leaves her fancy sports car in the school's parking lot, knowing it would be too enticing for Daigo's gang to pass up. When they break in, she activates the remote lock and forces them to work for her.
* In ''[[Literature/TheDeadSkunk The Dead Skunk]]'', Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Perigord and Joseph Fouché pull one off against the British government by [[spoiler:taking advantage of the Pains and Penalties Act (i.e., King George IV’s attempt to divorce Queen Caroline) to plant some witnesses in front of Parliament whose testimony will cause massive unrest in the U.K. This only works because the King and his allies are so desperate for witnesses against the Queen they'll accept testimony from just about anyone who offers it.]]
* ''Roleplay/DinoAttackRPG'':
** [[ManipulativeBastard Dust's]] plans and manipulations of Dino Attack agents to get to the Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins.
** Captain Click manipulated the Dino Attack Team into bringing him the Constructopedia.
** Dr. Rex and [[spoiler:Attila Hunstman]] collaborated on a BatmanGambit to leak information on a secret Antarctica mission through their android, Cam O'Cozy, to stir distrust and animosity between realists and idealists.
** Sam Sinister actually engineered a minor BatmanGambit, counting on the personalities of those involved, to ensure that he [[spoiler:saved the alpha female T-Rex from Paulie Gonepus]] by sending Mr. Cunningham to hunt her.
* Noam/Master Fusion pulls one off at the end of ''WebVideo/DoorMonster'''s [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uam0KMyZh2E&index=3&list=PL0u5ZHidq4X4QhFAX9FzSiYJLRen74sLF The Guards Themselves]]. He knew that [[BigBad Meyer]] would [[EvilGloating gloat]] about his plan once he was sure he had won, so Noam [[spoiler: threatened to blow the Meyer Security building, knowing that Meyer would call his bluff and then [[JustBetweenYouAndMe reveal his true plan]], which Lincoln recorded]].
* Goku, of all people, came up with one in ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged''. To wit, he wanted to train Gohan so that he can take over saving the world should his next death actually stick. To that end, he decided to let Vegeta and Trunks train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber first, pointing out that if he and Gohan went in first, they would have killed Cell easily. He used Vegeta's pride and Cell's Saiyan DNA in order to make Cell reach his Perfect form and create his own tournament to relish the idea of fighting Goku. Goku would then back down fighting Cell and let Gohan defeat him by unleashing his hidden power. However, this plan hits a major snag when it turns out Gohan [[ActualPacifist just does not like fighting]], a snag that ends up being fixed by Cell and Android 16, though it remains to be seen if Gohan will just double down on his attitude or take up that mantle.
* During Episode 3 of ''WebVideo/HellsingUltimateAbridged'', Integra and Walter get Alucard to go to Brazil by telling him that he can go on vacation anywhere in the world he wants, ''except'' for Brazil. Alucard, being a total {{Troll}}, goes to Brazil because he thinks doing so will make Integra mad.
* Bane, Kratos and Dr.Doom try their hand at this during season one of WebVideo/HeroHouse. Funnily enough, they find their greatest success is against Batman himself, who [[spoiler:dies saving Nightwing]] as a result.
* In ''Literature/LandGames'', Reckes uses a BatmanGambit to trick Mei into [[spoiler:betraying her allies]] using her feelings for him against her.
* Idubbbztv's series content cop reviews bad channels, one such episode on LeafyIsHere has various references to what Leafy would do forcing him not to use those tools. But in responding and attacking Idubbbz he used a video that Idubbbz purposely featured as one of his cringiest videos when in fact he actually liked it a lot knowing that leafy would be lazy and pick the first one he stumbled upon. Idubbbz is directly stated to be using a batman gambit in this [[https://youtu.be/g0gXCJz002s Video Essay]]
** Yet another famous one he makes is during the Tana Mongeau one. While Tana gets on IDubbbz for his frequent use of the n-word, he not only finds video evidence of her using it in a far worse context than his, but he went so far as to set a trap for her, going to her meet and greet and more or less saying it to her face in front of a camera photo (which was actually a video). Knowing her notoriety for her "storytime" videos, where she egregiously exaggerates her stories, he was counting on her to react the way she always would, by making a storytime video exaggerating everything in an attempt to defame him. And sure enough, she did just that. She reacted exactly the way he expected him to, making a video where she exaggerates every point to make idubbbz sound like a racist, borederline sex offender, despite him doing no such thing that would warrant such accusations. Given that she reacted exactly the way idubbbz expected, he then proceeded to use the video evidence in his content cop, lampooning her on her lies, destroying her credibility, and basically pointing out just how pathetic a person she was being. He even lampshades all this during the video, mocking her when he points out that had she reacted more maturely, in a better way, she would have destroyed him. But she didn't, because idubbbz knew exactly what she would do, because she was just that predictable.[[MagnificentBastard Magnificent Bastard]] indeed.
* Arin pulls one off while replaying ''VideoGame/MarioParty 2'' against Jon in ''WebVideo/GameGrumps'', and he's pretty darn happy about it.
* ''Website/NotAlwaysRight'' spinoff site ''Not Always Romantic'' has [[https://notalwaysright.com/cupids-arrow-doesnt-always-fly-straight/ this guy and his girlfriend]], who get rid of unwanted paramours by scheduling dates with them at the same time and place as each other, then standing their respective dates up, [[PairTheSpares so the "dates" end up meeting and bonding over being stood up]]. Batman Gambit matchmaking service!
-->“These ones like to come back and rub it in your face that they found a better person when we didn’t turn up. It wouldn’t work if we told them what had really happened, so we just act apologetic.”
* In ''WebVideo/{{PATHCO}}'''s 'Welcome to Ossenheim' module, the party was issued a challenge by one of the Buckheart elite to capture a baby deer from the garden and bring it back to her. Whilst this was the challenge to the characters, the true challenge to the players involved trying to prevent the deer from being ''eaten''. The DungeonMaster knew that there was no way Dave and Thyra, or indeed their players, would ever let an innocent young creature be hurt, and thus a far more ''interesting'' problem-solving exercise came about.
* From the ''Website/SCPFoundation'': [[http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/termination-order Termination Order]] is a story about two... relatively ordinary humans... assigned to kill a godlike being who causes reality to shift due to his emotional state. How do they do it? [[spoiler:They keep him calm while silently dragging him to the moon through an elaborate series of interlocking plans involving a teleporting wading pool and illusionary butterflies, where they set off a bomb and expose what remains of SCP-531 to the vacuum of space.]] Seriously.
* ''Franchise/TheSlenderManMythos'':
** The Slender Man himself pulls one of these in ''Blog/WhatYouAreInTheDark''. [[spoiler: He took advantage of his own viral nature by implanting false memories into Reach, using him to "infect" the bloggers(as well as his "fandom" in general) with the idea of Revenants: supposedly humans horribly transformed into Slender Man's super-powered elite soldiers. However, he didn't realize that memories cannot be truly erased... only hidden. Reach eventually uncovered memories of his brainwashing and realized the lie. There are no revenants, only people brainwashed into thinking they are and Slender Man's enemies who believe it. This was done to scatter their attention away from Slim himself. What he'll do now that the illusion is uncovered is anyone's guess.]]
** The Slender Man is, by default, a master of these (and knows exactly where and when to pull them) - why? ''[[BeingWatched He could be watching you right now as you read this...]]'' [[ParanoiaFuel and you'll never know until it's too late.]] How many people does he know well enough to pull a BatmanGambit off against? ''Everyone ever.'' [[spoiler:[[BeingWatched Including]] [[ParanoiaFuel you.]]]]
* In the alternate ending to the ''WebVideo/SuperPowerBeatDown'' episode "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3tC8TPh9oQ Batman vs Darth Vader]]", [[spoiler:the whole fight between the two is eventually revealed to have been a delaying action, while the device Batman has planted at the very beginning has been working on shutting down Superman's kryptonite cage. Why? Because Batman's secret weapon was Superman, the guy he came to rescue in the first place!]] At this point even Vader is left wondering what his opponent is, having managed to outsmart someone with a connection to the Force. With the predictable answer, "I'm Batman."
* In ''WebVideo/TenLittleRoosters'', [[spoiler:Barbara attempted to frame Ryan for the murders she committed by making him think that his "Mad King" persona was becoming real and he had murdered Gavin and Michael and was ready to kill others, too. The plan fell apart for a number of reasons, including the fact that he escaped the DeathTrap she put him in and escaped from his bonds (his tie) when he was ultimately captured and fought back.]]
* ''Podcast/TheThrillingAdventureHour'': Sparks Nevada can be prone to these. Hilariously [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in "The Robot Rogues in 'Distrustified'":
-->'''Alloy Roy:''' [[LetMeGetThisStraight So hang on. Your plan was what, exactly?]] That I'd share the file with my gang, and they'd post it to a listserv, and there'd be a robot free-for-all, and my gang would be whittled down t' ''two'', due to the infightin' in said free-for-all, and you'd get the drop on what's ''left?'' That's ''tenuous!''\
''[beat]''\
'''Sparks Nevada''': Yes. ... That's it exac--I mean not ''exactly''. [[RealisticDictionIsUnrealistic A lo--a lot's goin' on--]]I mean you got some of it, um, broad strokes I guess but--it's actually--it's simultaneously more ''and'' less complicated than what you said? So... I mean is this a conventional way to--have--you know what? I don't owe you this! [[KillHimAlready Gimme my guns!]]
* At the SuperheroSchool Whateley Academy in the ''Literature/WhateleyUniverse'', there are Combat Finals at the end of Fall term 2006. In one chapter of Joe Gunnarson's ''Call the Thunder'', Diamondback finds herself teamed with the Supervillain Hekate, who everyone in the entire school knows will backstab Diamondback first chance she gets. Diamond lays a very cunning BatmanGambit that only works ''if Hekate shafts her as soon as she gets the chance''. Hekate grabs the VillainBall for everything she's worth, leading to a very satisfying conclusion.
** Ayla, meanwhile, has one occur in her Birthday Party story. [[spoiler: A group plans to give her a surprise Birthday Party, but has to make sure it's an honest surprise, to someone who expects they are going to give one.]]
* In ''Literature/{{Worm}}'':
** Director Piggot pulls one on [[spoiler:Crawler]] in [[http://parahumans.wordpress.com/2012/09/25/prey-14-7/ Chapter 14.7]] -- fooling him into [[spoiler:remaining in the path of the Bakuda-bomb bombardment]] by the simple expedient of [[spoiler:''[[CombatSadomasochist telling him it was coming]]''.]]
** Skitter's ISurrenderSuckers gambit in [[http://parahumans.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/scourge-19-6/ Scourge 19.6]] depended on [[spoiler:Echidna charging her personally]].
** Skitter pulls one in [[http://parahumans.wordpress.com/2013/04/02/chrysalis-20-5/ Chapter 20.5]] when she escapes from an ambush by [[spoiler:recruiting her fellow high school students to act as {{Human Shield}}s against Dragon, Defiant, and Clockblocker]].
** Alexandria in [[http://parahumans.wordpress.com/2013/05/11/cell-22-4/ Cell 22.4]] [[spoiler:fails to pull one on Skitter, simultaneously underestimating the lengths to which she would go if pushed, her level of control over the situation, and ''just how close'' she was to the "murder" stage.]]
* ''Roleplay/YuGiOhEastAcademy'':
** Marcus uses a rather elaborate one to [[spoiler: bypass [[BigBad Haine's]] SurveillanceAsThePlotDemands powers, and lure him into a trap. Manipulating not only Haine's arrogance and Sadism, but also his own team as well.]]
** While this is the most notable example, [[ManipulativeBastard Marcus seems to be quite good at these in general]], having successfully used minor versions against Peter, Gretel, Denero, [[spoiler: Denero's father]], and even Haine himself at an earlier point.
