Line #6 Awesome/VRTroopers


1	* Tao, Ryan and J.B.'s sensei, finds a trio of [[{{Mooks}} Skugs]] breaking into his dojo. [[CurbstompBattle He immediately shows why Ryan and J.B. respect him as their master,]] [[BadassNormal despite having no powers of his own]].
2	** In episode 24, he challenges the group to grab a ribbon from his belt. He proceeds to school them the entire time without breaking a sweat.
3	** When you think about it, everything Tao-related is both awesome and heartwarming. He is the reason they're able to handle Grimlord's goons. As Professor Hart explained in the opening episode, their powers alone wouldn't be enough to win. Although the finisher takes out the robot, the martial arts skills helps wear them down enough for the finisher to work, we've seen instances of a mutant surviving the finisher because it was used too early and then not surviving it in a second battle or later in the same battle.
4	* Kaitlin doing a {{barehanded blade block}} unmorphed when Doom Master attacked her with a sword after she wandered into Grimlord's headquarters by accident (long story, watch the episode).
5	* [[TheDragon Grimlord's dragon, Decimator]] would usually mop the floor with Ryan Steele, but when he seemingly mortally wounded Ryan's father, a MAJOR berserk button had been pressed. Decimator soon found himself at the RECEIVING end of a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown by Ryan Steele, the mutant was so stunned by this turn of events that he fled in terror on his go-kart saying [[OhCrap "Um....we will meet again"]], in which Ryan responded with "GET BACK HERE, YOU COWARD!". After seeing Ryan search for his father for a season and seeing Decimator do that ForTheEvulz, you can't help but cheer when Ryan kicks his ass.
6	** Also before that when Ryan would immediately use his finisher on a mutant attacking his father, previously he'd only do so as a last resort.
7	* The latter portion of the [[FightingClown Fanbot]] battle is this because it was the first time we thought the Troopers might lose. Battles were usually StrictlyFormula, even if JB would be at the receiving end of a CurbStompBattle, he could always count on his trusty Laser Lance to finish off even the most brutal of enemies, even Mechanoid who overpowered him and Kaitlin and declared that their VR Double Team tickled (the same attack that often greatly weakens mutants). But then comes Fanbot, who seems harmless and clumsy, doing more damage to himself than the Troopers are to him. But he delivers a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown to JB, Kaitlin, and Kaitlin's [[HeelFaceTurn evil-turned-good clone]]. Even a three person version of the VR Double Team had no effect. JB then nearly gets sucked up by Fanbot; he came ''this'' close to getting himself killed, the only reason he survived was by ''impaling Fanbot at point-blank range with his Laser Lance!'' This was after Fanbot had managed to beat Conatron (a bot created by the rogue Knighttime out of other scrapped bots), and then drained Knighttime's powers to boot.
8	** Actually, the whole episode was awesome, as this was the B story. The A story was [[EnemyMine Ryan having to work with Grimlord to stop a time freezing device because Grimlord didn't want to rule over a place where everything always stood still]].
9	* In an earlier battle, JB and Kaitlin were being overpowered by Mechanoid (and Ryan tried to help but [[ItMakesSenseInContext because he switched bodies with Jeb]], it was Jeb who transformed, and ended up fighting Decimator instead). Late in the battle, after everything they threw at the monster failed to do any serious damage (including the VR Double Team), JB finally called on the laser lance. At first the monster laughed at and mocked his attempts to attack (the impalement and slashing wasn't doing anything beyond tickling him), it looked like JB had exhausted his laser lance and was ready to power down as Mechanoid was ready to shake off the energy and resume his attacks. Cue OhCrap moment from Mechanoid when JB catches a second wind and keeps the laser lance powered up enough to deliver a second and third round of slashing, which ends up taking out the mutant.
10	* The VR Troopers taking on the main villains of Grimlord's army and winning, either by temporarily destroying them or forcing them to flee when the battle was too hard to handle.
