* The Investigators know some pretty crazy skills for a bunch of teenagers. All three of the boys know Morse Code and have their own system, allowing themselves to communicate with just smoke signals, flashlights, or even just knocking. They also all know some form of martial arts starting in Crimebusters: Bob and Pete know karate (with Pete being a confirmed black belt) and Jupiter knows Judo.
** Jupiter Jones himself is a textbook example of a TeenGenius and a master of BatDeduction. Armed with PhotographicMemory and incredible NervesOfSteel, Jupe is able to completely unravel a mystery with what seems like only a handful of inconclusive evidence; most of the time, he's completely right. He completely baffles both his peers and adults alike with his intelligence and investigative skills. And his intelligence isn't his only skills, he is a MasterActor whose acts and impressions fool almost anyone. Jupiter is so self-assured and confident that he scares and intimidates even adults.
** Pete might not have the smarts or thinking skills of his two peers, but what he lacks in brain, he makes up for in brawn and athletic skill. He plays all sorts of sports: track, basketball, football, surfing, skiing, rock climbing, karate (where he is a black belt), just to name a few. In fact, he is his school's ace player in every sport except short distance swimming. In addition to all the sports training, he also knows much about wilderness survival (having been a Boy Scout), sailing, scuba diving, and more. Being so athletic means that Pete is also very stealthy and light on his feet, usually being the one designated for sneaking around. Pete is also an incredible driver and is the best out of the three, knowing how to tail, chase, and had saved them all from crashing on multiple occasions. On a smaller note, he has some understanding of animals and once stopped a tamed lion that had escaped its cage in a circus. At some point, he picked up lockpicking skills and is proficient enough that he can use salvaged tools. He's a little timid, but is always willing to push through his anxiety and fear to protect his friends.
** In the original series, Bob doesn't have many flashy skills compared to both Jupiter and Pete, but there's a reason he's a valued member of the team. If there's something to be found, Bob will find it. He can comb through all sorts of books and resources so the investigators have just what they need to solve the mysteries. Bob is also just as daring as he is inquisitive, being notably more daring than even Pete is sometimes. According to Jupiter, Bob knows just the right questions to ask to help him come up with this theories. Later, in Crimebusters (and beyond), he develops into a charming casanova sweet talker who is able to pull information from people he talks to and while not good as Jupiter, is pretty okay at acting too.
* The fact that three kids (teenagers later) are able to solve real world crime. The Investigators' resume is incredibly impressive, from stopping smugglers, robbers, and even their own government. It's to a point where the Chief of Police of Rocky Beach, Samuel Reynolds, has given them an Official Badge that acknowledges them as volunteer Junior Detectives, wishing they could hire them into the force. Despite the fact that their cases get harder and more dangerous as the series goes on, the three of them always rise to the challenge.
** At the start of the series, hardly anyone took the Investigators seriously. They were often just taken as face value as just some nosy kids. However, as they solved case after case, their reputation began to grow. It started out small, with just young children and classmates knowing who they are. Then their name began growing around town and pretty much everyone in Rocky Beach knew them. They got some nice publicity when Don announced their name on TV at the end of the original series. As they got older, their cases' stakes go higher and higher, even dealing with the government-related incidents. By Rufmord, the Investigators have solved at least a hundred and are well known enough that their former clients refer other people to them, which means cases come to them directly. They still aren't licensed detectives, but they might as well be one and not just any kind of detective firm: one with a hundred percent success rate.
** One extremely noble thing about their detective agency is that they never take payment (they also legally can't because they're too young, but morally they won't either). In fact, it's costing them to run the agency. Between maintaining phone & internet and the funds they use for their research, Jupe often mentions how low their 'treasury' is during cases. All three boys have to work part time or do chores to get enough money to keep solving mysteries. Sometimes they do complain about the extra work, but in reality, they don't mind. Not taking money means that they can assist clients who may not have the funds to hire a licensed detective, and a lot of them are grateful for the help. They do accept rewards very occasionally (most of them material and not monetary), but don't solve the mystery for the money. All three boys are very big mystery lovers and just solve mysteries because they just enjoy the thrill of solving them and just want to help others.
-->Parker: Fee?
--> All three investigators shook their heads almost simultaneously.
-->Bob: We don't charge anything. Our reward is your satisfaction.

!!Original Release

!!#1 The Mystery of Terror Castle
* The way Jupiter bluffs his way in past both the gate guard and the secretary to see Hitchcock at World Studios.

!!#2 The Mystery of the Stuttering Parrot
* Aside from the fact this is widely considered the quintessential Three Investigators book, the blueprint for every well-written treasure-hunting plot to follow, and the favorite of most fans, it’s also one of the more complex, tightly-written, suspenseful, and atmospheric books, particularly the entire journey to the Merita Valley graveyard at the climax. It's no wonder that it's this case which puts the boys on the map as investigators, even more so than their first. (Helped along, of course, by the great value of the lost masterpiece and all the press they get in the papers; since Hitchcock ends up abandoning his search for a real haunted house, their work for him in Terror Castle really doesn't get revealed to the public, and it seems their names were kept out of Stephen Terrill's "return from the dead".)

!!#4 The Mystery of the Green Ghost
* Bob faking going under hypnosis to fool Mr. Won, then leaving notes out of the trunk of the car so Jupiter and the police can track him, Pete, and Chang down.

!!#5 The Mystery of the Vanishing Treasure
* Pete's quick thinking of drawing a question mark on the side of the minaret he was trying to rappel down to signal to Bob that something had gone wrong.
* Jupe and Peter are captured by the perpetrators and put into sacks, leaving Hans and Bob to go on a car chase to save them. They end up breaking down the pier gates with one of the salvage yard trucks to get them in time.
* Also, Jupe's plan for catching the midgets at the end: after finding the belt and making them think he’s changed his mind about Rawley's offer and wants to become a criminal, he gets them to come to Headquarters to buy the belt from him and has Bob and Pete demonstrate all the secret entrances except one so that they can escape when the midgets attack--where the cops are waiting to catch them.

!!#6 The Mystery of Skeleton Island
* Tom Faraday gets into a fierce hand-to-hand combat battle with the Ballinger Brothers and has the upper hand even though one of Tom's arms has been paralyzed for years from when the Ballingers injured him during a robbery. The moment's awesomeness is only slightly lessened by the fact that Tom is a bad guy himself (he told the Ballingers to wound him years ago to throw off suspicion that he was their accomplice, but they hit him too hard) and is only fighting the brothers due to a dispute over their loot.

!!#7 The Mystery of the Fiery Eye
* Jupiter's attempted ExactWords LoopholeAbuse to extend the Investigators' use of the chauffeured Rolls Royce. Although it fails, it was a marvelous attempt.
* How they get Gus his inheritance, even when Three-Dots threatens them: Jupe found it so he’s safe, he gives it to Gus so he’s safe, but if Three-Dots takes it from him, the curse will be invoked. So to prevent this, Three-Dots has to buy it.
* In an incredible act of kindness, Gus basically buys a lifetime permanent membership with Worthington's rental service company for the Investigators, meaning that now the Investigators can rent the Rolls Royce for the rest of their lives. He might have had a small role in this story online, but Gus' kindness continues to get mentioned to this day, after almost fifty years of the Three Investigators (including the German release).

!!#8 The Mystery of the Silver Spider
* In a last ditch effort to evade capture, Jupiter gets the idea to ring the bell of Prince Paul to cause the citizens of Varania to revolt and rise up against Duke Stefan to save their crown prince.

!!#9 The Mystery of a the Screaming Clock
* The discovery of what the clock was meant to do, and where the paintings were hidden.
* Mr. Hugenay saves his goons from being arrested for ImpersonatingAnOfficer by having them wear the uniforms of a police department on the opposite side of the continent.

!!#13 The Mystery of the Crooked Cat
* Pete defying his usual cautious nature to stand his ground against a lion. Using the knowledge he gained from accompanying his father on movie sets with wild animals, Pete was able to take charge and manages to get the animal to stop and stay where it was until its tamer could retrieve it. The lion was tame and mostly friendly (though was scared and confused and in danger of escaping and lashing out), but it was still impressive.
* After getting marooned on a small island off in the sea, Jupiter and Pete manage to fashion a makeshift boat to get them back to shore. With the help of Pete's nautical skills, the two are able to make it back in time to catch the thief.

!!#15 The Mystery of the Flaming Footprints
* The Potter's DynamicEntry, complete with shotgun, to save the boys, Mrs. Dobson, and Tom from Demetrieff and Kaluk.

!!#16 The Mystery of the Nervous Lion
* Uncle Titus vs. Olsen. The latter fellow comes to the salvage yard to try and procure the cages from the junkyard next to Jungle Land; Jupiter, suspicious over how badly the man wants them (and also remembering his uncle had wanted the cages to sell to a circus) quotes an exorbitantly high price. Furious, Olsen departs, only to return when Uncle Titus does to lambaste him about the "con job" Jupe tried on him. After stating he wanted to sell the cages to the circus as Jupiter had pointed out, Titus listens to the price Olsen says Jupiter quoted him...and then notes his nephew got it wrong before quoting an even higher price.
-->[Jupiter] felt like hugging his uncle.
* When Bo Jenkins tries to escape, Jim Hall ends up using George to intimidate him into submission.
-->Jim Hall whistled softly as the animal handler grabbed the black bag.
-->Heavy, padding steps sounded across the room. An ominous rumbling made Jenkins turn and stare. His jaw sagged and he paled.
-->A large, yellow-eyed lion stood there, head down and long tail twitching restlessly. The growling continued.
-->...
-->"Forget it, Jenkins," Jim Hall said calmly. "You're not going anyplace. One more step and George will have you for dinner." Hall turned to the lion. "Won't you, George?"
-->The lion slowly opened its cavernous mouth and moved forward.
-->There was a clattering sound as the gun fell from Bo Jenkins's fingers.

!!#17 The Mystery of the Singing Serpent
* Allie being one of the very few people who was able to find her way into the Investigators' headquarters. She doesn't know all the entrances, but it's enough to surprise all three of the boys.
** It's hard enough for adults to keep up with the Investigators, but Allie keeps up with them just fine. She is brave and bold, enough also to keep the Investigators on their toes.
* When Pete falls off the wall and back into the compound, Jupiter comes up with a clever lie on the spot by pretending to have lost his pet cat who had wandered over the wall.
* When Shaitan was threatening Allie into revealing where the necklace was, Pete releases Indian Queen (Allie's beloved horse). In a rage, the horse fiercely attacks Shaitan to protect Allie, which finally subdues him.
** Shortly after, Allie ends up striking Shaitan when he tries to shoot the horse.
** And then subsequently, Jupiter picks up Shaitan's gun to make sure he stays there. He's never really used one before, but somehow he manages to weaponize even that with his words.
-->Jupiter: Don't try to leave. I'm not an excellent shot and I might do you some serious damage without intending it.

!!#20 The Mystery of Monster Mountain
* The book features a BigfootSasquatchAndYeti creature that the BigBad wants to capture (in addition to being involved in many other crimes) and that one of the other suspects wants to protect. During the denouement, the latter character tells the cops about the villain's scheme in a patronizing and seemingly dismissive way while saying how silly that is, because everyone knows such creatures don't really exist. The local sheriff laughs at the villain's plan, while the boys can only stare in shock as the monster's protector smiles.

!!#21 The Mystery of the Haunted Mirror
* Jupiter's use of his PhotographicMemory to track down the kidnapped Jeff: having heard both the chimes of an ice cream truck going by and the crossing-arms signal at the railroad tracks where a train was going by, he’s able to find out from the ice cream company dispatcher where his different routes went, learn which one would have been at a railroad crossing at the time the kidnapper had Jeff call, and so find the house where he was being held.

!!#22 The Mystery of Dead Man's Riddle
* When Skinny Norris unties the houseboat the boys are investigating, they are in real danger of shooting over a waterfall. When Jupiter has no idea what to do, in a moment of pure awesome, it's Pete who confidently takes over. He orders Jupe and Bob to push everything to the back of the boat, which stops the boat from going over. He also uses a rope to lasso a tree on the bank, making sure that Bob and Jupe make it across before he makes his own escape (which cinematically coincides with the houseboat falling over the dam).
* Pete gets taken hostage by Roger Callow, who also has the jewels from the riddle, but he doesn't just go quietly. While Callow is distracted trying to back away from the police, he hooks his foot around Callow's ankle and shoves backward. This topples both him and Callow off the gangplank, causing the man to drop the gun and the jewels. Pete manages to catch the bag of jewels in mid-air and manages to flip over to safely dive into the water whereas Callow ends up breaking his leg due to the fall. If there is ever a moment to display Pete's athletic prowess, this is it.
* Jupiter purposely lets Callow take the gems as a trap, knowing that he couldn't resist taking them for himself. It ends up going awry as he didn't expect him to have a gun, but if he hadn't set the trap, Callow could have married Nelly Towne and made off with the money.

!!#24 The Mystery of Death Trap Mine
* When Allie is about to get attacked by a rattlesnake, Pete chucks a rock at it and nails it in the head, allowing Allie to back away safely.
* When the robbers take Allie and Pete hostage, they try to escape via the truck. When it breaks down, they intended to take the two and hike down the desert. Allie decides that she's had enough, deciding it would be safer to wait by the broken down truck, and stands her ground (which prompts Pete to do the same), calling the gunman's bluff about shooting them. It takes some courage to look down the barrel of a gun like that.

!!#25 The Mystery of the Dancing Devil
* When the eponymous costumed criminal makes a frightening attack on the main trio and local bully Frankie Bender, Frankie quickly gets over his terror and starts grabbing rocks and shooting them at the devil with his slingshot. The boys then start throwing rocks themselves, and they quickly drive the masked figure away.

!!#26 :The Mystery of the Headless Horse
* Diego Alvaro, immediately after hearing Skinny Norris use an ethnic slur against him and suggesting "why don't you go back where you came from", demands an apology. When Skinny refuses to give it, he hauls off and slaps him. They get into a fight, where no matter how times he gets knocked down, Diego gets right back up again. They end up falling into traffic, where Diego saves Skinny's life. And after this, when Skinny thanks him and finally, grudgingly apologizes, Diego immediately walks away as if nothing had happened, because his pride and honor were satisfied. That’s how you do an EstablishingCharacterMoment.
* The annoying Skinny Norris finally gets called out on his bad behavior and is sent to military school to straighten him out, finally putting him out of the Investigators' hair for the time being.

!!#28 The Mystery of the Deadly Double
* After being kidnapped, Jupiter manages to hide under the floorboards of a house with no escape routes so his kidnappers will think he escaped and go away.
* Worthington is quite the BadassDriver while fleeing from the kidnappers, and they only catch him due to a dead end.
* During the two periods where Jupiter has been kidnapped, Pete does a good job of filling in his shoes.
** He does a SherlockScan of the road out of a canyon and determines that no one has traveled on it due to the absence of tire tracks or footprints, meaning that Jupiter's kidnappers are still in the area.
** He identifies one of the Big Bads after an INeverSaidItWasPoison slip.
* Bob gets in on the act too, since he's the one to: recognize the earring which the kidnappers' helicopter pilot lost matches Anna Lessing's; catch the second INeverSaidItWasPoison moment; and figure out that Jupiter is being held under another house--after Pete realizes its position on a hillside means there could be a basement underneath the hill next to its built-in garage, Bob figures out that the flickering lights mean Jupiter is kicking the fuse box to get their attention.
* While on the run from kidnappers, Ian Carew leaves behind clever clues that are hard to find and even harder to figure out (at least for his enemies) to his location all over town and avoids being captured at his hotel room by hiding in a hallway closet while watching to see if anyone comes to his room.

!!#29 The Mystery of the Sinister Scarecrow
* When Hans sees a man attacking Jupiter, he has a great PapaWolf moment, physically yanking the man off of Jupiter.
--> Hans: You do not do that to Jupiter! I will break you into pieces.
* While many of the books have great reveal moments when Jupiter exposes the villain, the SummationGathering at the Radford estate is stupendously well-done, both when Jupiter uncovers the truth about Mrs. Chumley and when he later identifies the fake Vermeer (thought to be the real one, and replacing the student's copy), thereby giving away the second, hidden forger villain.

!!#30 The Mystery of Shark Reef
* Pete decides to hide the MacGuffin (a ring) on his own (muddy) finger, so when the perpetrators try to frisk him for it, they couldn't find it.
** The missing ring allows Jupiter to come up with a lie that they had hidden it by the pier, which causes him to walk right into a trap set by Bob and the police.

!!#31 The Mystery of the Scar-Faced Beggar
* Jupe not only confronts Shelby and reveals he stole Hector Sebastian's wallet, which after dropping it while disguised as the beggar is what got the boys on the case in the first place, but also correctly deduces he had not sent the rest of the bank loot to their compatriots overseas, instead keeping a large cut for himself...which causes the patriotic revolutionaries to turn on him.

!!#34 The Mystery of the Wandering Caveman
* Eleanor Hess has been infantilized and taken advantage of by her nasty aunt and uncle. In a moment of clarity, she stands up to them and calls them out on their behavior, threatening to take legal action to get the house left in her name since her parents died.

!!#38 The Mystery of the Smashing Glass
* Worthington standing up to Mr. Temple and the police, and defending Jupiter from the former, is both hilarious and awesome.
* Pete ends up being taken hostage (again) by the window smasher, William Margon, but the perpetrator tries to flee upon being pursued by the police. When it appears as though he was going to get away, Pete barrels out of the car he had been held hostage in and tackles William, grappling him long enough for the police to catch up and take over.
** In an odd note of bravery, the reason why Pete got taken hostage in the first place is that he thought he felt brave enough to confront the window smasher himself. It didn't pan out as planned, and it is an unusual thing for Pete to be so brave, but awesome just the same.

!!#39 The Mystery of the Trail of Terror
* Throughout most of the story, Ben Peck has been treated as a senile old man who is paranoid over his neighbor spying on him. As the mystery unravels, it turns out that he was mostly completely right about his neighbor, Snabel, who was a former airline engineer who wanted to sell US secrets to other countries.
** Not only that, it turns out that his invention he wanted to sell? The reason why he wasn't worried about it being stolen is because he had it sent to New York before his trip. And the invention itself? It turned out to be quite a revolutionary invention that Mr. Peck is in the negotiation with NASA for.
* While not the first time the Investigators have worked with the feds, this is the first time they are doing it on a national level.

!!#41 The Creep-Show Crooks
* Worthington brings a couple dozen riled-up teenagers from the hangout of a kidnapping victim to cut off the escape of the men who kidnapped their friend. The kids intimidate one crook into surrendering and capture the other as he runs.

!!#42 The Mystery of Wrecker's Rock
* Sam Ragnarson ends up using his motorcycle to drive the Three Investigators off the road on their bikes in revenge for 'being liars' and he drives Jupe and Bob off the road. Furious at the man for hurting his friends, Pete turns to face the motorcycle on his bike armed with a fallen branch. Upon seeing Pete stand his ground, Sam Ragnarson decides it's not worth the trouble and finally leaves them alone.
-->Sam Ragnarson: What are you going to do with that, boy?
-->Pete: Whatever I can.
* Just a few moments later, when a masked man breaks into Bob's house, Pete does his famous flying tackle and manages to knock down the guy trying to steal the photos, Bob joining in to help too. The masked man manages to get away, but Pete managed to steal back the photos.

!!Crimebusters
* The boys have aged up since we last saw them. In addition to being able to drive cars and the like, all three Investigators know some form of martial arts: Bob and Pete know Karate (with Pete being a confirmed Black Belt) and Jupe knowing Judo. In similar situations where they would have been helpless as middle schoolers, the three are more than able to hold their own in a fight and come out on top.

!!#7 Reel Trouble
* When the three get captured, Kalin tortures Pete by having the thug holding him pull the nylon cords around his wrist until it bled, but Pete stays stubbornly silent and refuses to give up information. Jupiter is the one who ends up giving them the info they want in order to stop his suffering, but it was extremely hardcore of Pete to just shrug off what is undoubtedly a very painful experience.
-->Jupiter: (genuinely) Good going, Pete.
-->Pete: As they say, no gain.
-->Bob: Ever think about becoming a spy? You'd knock'em dead.
** Even after his wrist are bloody and raw, he later still attempts to use his martial arts training to rip the bindings even though they're causing his wrists to bleed. It seems as though Pete was willing to rip those bindings no matter what, that's dedication (though Bob eventually convinces him to stop hurting himself).
-->Bob: Forget it, Pete. You're massacring yourself!
-->Pete: (stoically) It's not so bad.
** Right after, even with his wrist clotted with blood, he still manages to put up a good fight to take out the thugs.
* The swap meet pirates thugs VS the Hula Whoops and the Investigators:
** Bob and Pete tag-teaming Craig, the largest of the guys. Top it off with Maxi jumping onto the man's back and all three beat him into submission.
** Jupe successfully performing a perfect judo o-soto-gari outside flip on Kalin, so perfect that he surprised himself. When poor Kalin came too, Bob and Pete were ready and beat him unconscious again.
** While not as action-packed as the other encounters, Jupe manages to talk down Thanom and stop him from shooting them. Thanom does eventually stand down.
* When Butler tries to make a deal with the musicians and investigators to spare him with new cars and a record label at the top, all of them refuse the offer. And when he tries to bolt, Quill just sits on him.
* The Hula Whoops don't end up making it to their gig, which disheartens Sax a lot. But the investigator's new friendship with Ernesto Lara allows Sax to strike up a deal with him. Not only that, Lara decides to pay for Pete's slashed tires, a ride in his limo, and an extravagant lunch.

!!German Extended Release
* Sometime during the German release, Jupiter actually managed to lose weight. He is stocky, but had gotten to a much healthier weight and is way less insecure about his appearance than he did in Crimebusters and has much more confident as a result. That is just awesome.

!!#68 Späte Rache (Late Revenge)
* Pete deciding that he's had enough of being imprisoned and decides to stage a trap for his captor with the few things he has in his cell. By disguising the blanket, a tray, and his clothes to look like he was passed out on the bed, Pete hid underneath attacked his captor when he went to check on him. Even though the man tries to get him to yield by pointing a pistol, Pete decides that he won't let anyone order him around anymore and attacks him anyway. At the end of the encounter, Pete ends up winning the fight and even takes the man's gun, finally earning his freedom after being trapped for more than forty hours in the room hy that point.
-->"At waist level, [Pete] could make out a dark oblong shape pointing at him. An angry thought flashed through him light lighting: You're not ordering me around anymore."
** Keep in mind that Pete is only in his mid to late seventeens at the oldest and that Jerimiah was at least in his early twenties or older (compared to John, his younger brother, who was in his early twenties). He basically won a one-on-one fight with a grown adult. And that grown adult decided to retreat and let Pete go because it was too much effort otherwise.
** Another thing to note: Pete defeated his captor in nothing but his underwear (he had used the clothes he was wearing as a disguise to trick his kidnapper and had no time to put them back on until they were driven off). That's gotta be humiliating (for the captor).
* Pete managing to make his way from the middle of the woods and back to the coast where he was finally picked up, with nothing but the pistol he stole and a dog he befriended. The fact that Pete really didn't need Bob, Jupe, Kelly, or even the police's help to escape, he did it all on his own. If the Investigators hadn't looked into it, the captors likely wouldn't have been caught right away (though it is likely it could have been figured out after the fact), but despite being alone and all odds being against him, Pete still thwarted his own kidnapping. Had they all just waited some more, Pete would have just showed up a couple days later, safe and sound.
* It had only been a daydream, but Pete actually did get his story told in the paper, with all the details about how he outsmarted his captors and made his daring escape. With all he's been through, he deserves all the good will.

!!#96 Rufmord (Slander)
* Jupe, Pete, and Bob getting invited onto a radio show with ten million listeners. Might be one of the biggest publicity injection these guys had.
** Not only that, but a ton of their old clients came onto the show to thank and support them. Goes to show what a difference they really made in the world.
* By this point, the Investigators have apparently solved over a hundred cases over the years.

!!#99 Das Hexenhandy (The Curse of the Cell Phone)
* The Three Investigators have figured out the identity of the culprit and confront him, but are unable to back up their accusations with concrete evidence. However, when Peter was attacked and locked up by the disguised culprit some time earlier, he managed to slip a cell phone into his attacker's pocket without being noticed. When the man boasts that they have nothing on him, Peter dials the number of the cell phone, which starts ringing in the culprit's pocket, proving his guilt. This is all the more impressive because Peter was genuinely afraid for his life while being attacked, yet he still had the presence of mind to pull off this trick.

!!#100 Toteninsel (Dead Island)
* Even though he put in one of the most terrible situations ever, Pete manages to lay low and keep his secret for long enough to meet up with Jupiter and Bob, who had come to the island to rescue him. Many people might have panicked or broken down, but Pete managed to remain resilient through the whole experience.
* Despite facing down trained military personnel, the Investigators and members of the expedition using their wits to outsmart the soldiers. Jupe knew that they couldn't risk a firefight, they just didn't have the firepower. But by using the old military base to lock them in, it gave them enough of a chance to get to the point. Jupiter also pulled a bait-and-switch with Olin, who turned out to be part of the CIA, by making him think they were going to use the Montana to sail away when they were actually using the Explorer. They all successfully escape the island on the boat.
** Anne, who was suffering from an illness, realizing that the military were going to catch up to them, uses the Explorer to ram the Motana and capsizes them. Then it's revealed that her name is actually Anne Hadden and she's the younger sister to the Hadden siblings. She's had enough of them and had snuck onto the expedition with the intention to sabotage them. She was the real mole.
* Similar to his time in Späte Rache, Pete spends the climax of the story shirtless after he uses the shirt to go down an elevator shaft and it tears.
* Realizing that they were in danger of being apprehended by the military or government, Jupe calls Jelena from the plane and has her amass the press to arrive. And upon landing, he mic drops the whole military plot to the press to prevent the coverup and allow the other members of the expedition to disappear into the crowd. The boys may have gotten into serious trouble with their parents, but Jelena is right. They're investigators, but this time they're also heroes.

!!#103 Der Nebelberg (The Misty Mountain)
* In a pretty good display of his wilderness survival skills, Peter is able to deduce where North was just by looking at a mossy stone:
-->Bob: The sun has completely disappeared behind the clouds. How do you know that's North? Do you have a compass in your head or something?
-->Peter: I may not be as smart as Jupiter or as well read as you, Bob, but you'll have to admit my sense of direction has always been pretty brilliant. There are also a few simple tips. The rocks here for example: they are overgrown with moss, especially on the side, logically, on the one that gets the most water. And since most of the mountain winds are north here, the side of the rock where the most moss grows because the wind slaps the rain on it must be North.
* Even though Peter was understandably terrified about going through a fog so thick that you could barely see a meter in front of you, he still decides to accompany Jupiter up the mountain because he just couldn't allow his friend to go alone.

!!#109 Die Höhle des Grauens (The Cave of Horrors)
* In the test of courage, Pete manages to make a 2.5meter jump with a sprained ankle. He lost his footing, but he still made it.

!!#127 Die schwarze Madonna (The Black Madonna
* Peter, unprompted, dives off the pier to save a young man who had fallen off. Soon after it's also revealed that there are sharks in the area and that Pete fully knew that, but he still did it anyway. Goes to show that Pete is actually really brave when it really counts.

!!#152 Skateboardfieber (Skateboard Fever)
* Peter managing to escape from the secret services' government building. Using a newspaper to slide under the door and jiggling the lock so it falls onto it, he manages to lift the doorframe just enough to get the key. Then after determining that there really was no other way to escape, be builds a makeshift skateboard out of parts he manages to find around the government office and essentially skateboards off the roof to his escape. He was even being shot at and manages to make it far enough before he was able to be hide with Sunny.
** Earlier in the story, Peter manages to survive being shot at by the mysterious gunmen.
* Pretty epic of Sunny to just help Pete out even though it was pretty clear that he was wearing prisoner garb. The moment he sees how great Peter is at skateboarding, he's essentially decided that he was cool and even giving him a skateboard to boot.
** And Sunny's quick thinking to hide Peter from the policemen looking for him. He seems to be a MasterActor to rival Jupe and manages to completely convince the officer that he had nothing to hide, even after the policeman finds Peter's salvaged skateboard.
* Towards the end of the story, Cotta standing up to a secret service agent to protect Peter from falling into government custody again. Technically, the agent outranks Cotta in every way, but Cotta manages uses the law by taking Peter into his custody so he wouldn't immediately get arrested by the government.

!!#162 Fußball-Teufel (Soccer Devil)
* Peter perfectly performing the Hocus-Pocus twice in the beginning of the story, a fairly difficult, offensive, and hard to counter soccer technique.
** Just before that he had been bouncing a soccer ball off the ground without using his hands and arms 118 times. Apparently two more would have broken his record of 119.

!!#189 Die Kammer der Rätsel (The Chamber of Riddles)
* Apparently, the Three Investigators have become celebrities in Rocky Beach and everyone seems to know about them. It's great to see how far the trio have gotten since the original series where they are doubted all the time.
-->Mr. Ranaldo: And if you ask around in Rocky Beach who the biggest experts are for my little problem, then only one name is mentioned: The Three Investigators!
* When Peter accidentally leaves the radio they needed for a later puzzle in a previous room, Jupiter scraps together his own radio.

!!#190 Verbrechen im Nichts (Crime in Nothing)
* The fact that Brian and Ashlyn were able to make a series of puzzles to challenge the Investigators, especially Jupiter, this series' own Sherlock Holmes. Not only that, but the puzzle was difficult and clever enough that it engaged their attention for a couple days before Jupiter inevitably figured out that that they had tricked him. They probably shouldn't have tricked the Investigators (they might have still enjoyed the treasure hunt even knowing it was candy at the end), but it was still impressive considering how experienced the Investigators are in the first place (at this point, they likely have over two hundred cases solved).
* Peter's rescue and escape from the Black Smoke Cavern:
** First, realizing that Ashlyn needed help immediately after she gets trapped in the cavern because of a landslide, he risks his own life by using the old walkways of the cavern and crawling through to reach her. Peter succeeds and manages to lead her onto solid ground. Brian, her older brother, had wanted to help her, but Peter confronted him with a surprising amount of realism and explains that he is the only one among them who has the skills to reach her and get out safely.
-->Brian: I'm going to Ashlyn!
-->Peter: Have you climbed through caves yet? Do you have mountaineering experience? have you ever looked down a steep wall from above? Do you have a head for heights?
-->Brian: I, uh...
-->Peter: (confidently) That's exactly my expertise!
** Then Old Buck accidentally triggers a mudslide. Thankfully Ashlyn manages to avoid it thanks to Peter's help, but he gets caught in it himself and ends up falling down one of the cavern holes, but miraculously survives thanks to falling onto a ledge. Even though he was in what he describes 'unbearable pain' and was on the verge of fainting again, he manages to climb up with only a rope and safety belt dropped by Jonathan, even while his hands were bleeding because he had sliced his hands on the rocks when he initially fell. That's metal as hell.

!!#197 Im Auge des Strums (In the Eye of the Storm)
* Peter, yet again, jumps into shark-infested waters to save someone. Except this time, Matthew, the surfer in trouble, gets straight chomped on a shark and is bleeding out. Despite the fact that the blood and the frantic paddling could attract more sharks, Peter still risks his life to pull Matt to safety, rationalizing that he'd just kick the shark in the gills if it attacked again. He then successfully pulls Matt to shore and keeps pressure on the wound until the ambulance arrive.
* As Finnley is too injured from a fall to surf, Peter surfs on his behalf, but during a storm. Peter manages to survive being on the torrential waves and manages to make it back to shore in one piece.
* At the end of the story, Finnley has nicknamed Peter, 'Superboy', for being so his reckless heroism. The chapter itself dubs Peter as the Hero of Rocky Beach.
